| Acaed10-14-03, 08:21 AM | “Not such a great idea now, huh, Lan?” Raelith and Lan were back-to-back, smack in the middle of a group of demons. The demons’ summoner, a particularly evil-looking Necrosummoner, stood several feet behind the demons, a smirk on his face. The demons hadn’t attacked yet; they were circling, occasionally darting in to snap at Lan or Raelith. “Y’know, Raelith, the point of a scouting mission is to not get caught by the enemy.” Said Lan, waving his glaive at the clamoring demons, warning them off. “Ah, stow it, Lan. This was your idea, after all.” Raelith evaded a demon’s snapping jaws and slammed its head into the floor with a resounding splat. “Ready?” grinned Lan. “Of course,” replied Raelith, a grin on his face, too. At that instant, both Raelith and Lan lashed out with their glaive and spear, cutting a swath through the demon’s ranks. Exposing an opening, they dashed through, heading for the door. *** Lan had thought it might be a good idea to go back to the place that Acaed had been inspecting before he was blinded. While Acaed himself was off trying to find Alighan, the duo had headed off into Legion under cover of darkness, and found themselves in the clutches of about 2000 Necrosummoners within minutes of crossing the border. It was true: Legion was rearming, and by what the captured Raelith and Lan saw, they were preparing for a complete rout of all the Enshaee forces on the continent. After being held in confinement for days, Lan managed to overpower a guard and free Raelith and himself, and recover their weapons. And here they were now, running for dear life through the twisting halls of the capital building of Legion, Heka. *** “Hey, Lan, do you hear that noise up ahead?” shouted Raelith as he and Lan dashed side by side down a hall, heading towards what they hoped was the exit. “Yeah. What could be making all that noise?” Lan got his answer as they sped out of the hall into the bright sunshine and off of a balcony. They fell about 20 feet, and Lan slowed their descent with psionics, and they touched the ground softly. Looking around, they found what was the source of the noise: they landed right in the middle of a large Necrosummoner rally. “Oh, ****.” Lan grumbled as the hundreds of thousands Necrosummoners all gazed bewildered at them. Raelith grabbed his arm and began to run. “We don’t have time to stand and gawk like they do, Lan! RUN!” The Necrosummoners acted accordingly. About roughly half of them threw knives at the swiftly moving forms of the pair, and the other half summoned winged demons to chase their retreating forms. The winged demons pursuing them, Raelith and Lan ran for dear life, heading for anywhere that the demons wouldn’t find them. They ran past buildings of various make, and ran past all sorts of people: merchants, commoners, and aristocracy. Making it out of the city, as the ran past the last building a portal opened suddenly in front of them, and the tumbled inside, unable to stop in time. *** “What in the Nine Hells did you two think you were doing?!” Acaed looked in their general direction, his sightless eyes moving over them. Even though he was blind now, everyone knew he was still Acaed. His psionics made up for his lack of vision. He continued his tirade. “You two went back to the very place that caused my blindness! We need some soldiers who can see, you know!” Lan and Raelith looked at each other guiltily. Raelith spoke up: “Come on, brother…” Acaed, who was pacing, whirled on him. “Don’t you ‘brother’ me, Raelith! What you did was stupid and useless! You two almost got killed, and, Y’know what? Legion could technically call that an act of war, and look where we’d be then, huh?!” Acaed was furious, it was plain to see. Lan spoke up in their defense. “Yeah, but we learned some of their numbers.” Acaed turned on him now, also. “What, and you think I didn’t see the same thing before I was blinded by that trap that blew up in my face?! Come on, Lan! As Guildmaster General, I didn’t think you’d act so foolishly. And Raelith, as King of the Last Elves…come on, you guys” His voice softened. “If I had lost you two…” His voice trailed off, and his face softened, as well. His body seemed to sigh, and he looked ancient and frail. Raelith stood from the couch where he and Lan were sitting and put an arm around Acaed’s now-drooping shoulders. “Hey, Acaed, buddy, you alright? You look tired.” Acaed turned sightless eyes towards Raelith, and allowed himself to be guided to sit in an overstuffed armchair. “No, Raelith…I’m not okay. With Siobhan running rampant in Juxta, with Legion preparing for war here, not to mention the reports of the secession of the Cities of the East…it’s been a crappy week. Being blind takes getting used to.” “I’m…sorry, Acaed, for what it’s worth,” said Lan, prodding Raelith as he got up. “Right, right. I’m sorry also. What we did couldn’t have helped you.” Acaed smiled at them. “Just…don’t do it again, okay? What if the locket hadn’t been working?” Lan and Raelith grinned, and Lan spoke: “We’d be dead.” Acaed sighed. “Go on, you two. Take the day off from training, huh? And Lan, could you send in the first of the new recruits? They should be waiting outside the building.” Raelith left, but Lan stayed behind. “New recruits?” “Well, not exactly. I put up some bulletins for soldiers. We’ll probably get some riffraff, and some pond scum, but if they’re willing to fight, who cares?” “You really think Legion is planning to attack?” “I got this, didn’t I?” Acaed reached into a pocket, and handed Lan a note written on Legionarian letterhead. “It’s a challenge!” Lan exclaimed. “Yeah, at the same place I defeated them years ago…Shangdan Outpost. 500 Necrosummoners, just like last time. They’ve got something up their sleeves…” Lan nodded, and headed towards the door. “I’ll send them in. Are you sure that wandering adventure are the best for warriors, though?” Acaed nodded back. “We don’t have enough power to match their summoners. I don’t care where these adventurers come from, or where they are going. As long as they can arm themselves and take Elyiian coin, I’m fine. Who knows, maybe someone might come in that I know…” Lan nodded again, and headed out. “I’ll send them in.” Acaed closed his eyes and leaned back in the chair. “Thanks, Lan.” ((I'm looking for adventurers to fight on behalf of Enshaee in an upcoming war in Elyiia. All characters will be well paid, well accomadated, and well proviosioned. Anyone is welcome, as long as you RP responsibly and maturely. Also, anyone that knows Acaed, definately show up! :-D )) |
| Savael10-14-03, 09:45 AM | ((Well... this looks interesting, cear to let me join, Acaed?)) |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-14-03, 10:02 AM | “I Don’t be caring who ye think thou arts!” Rocky the dwarf said to the town constable. “Now be gone for me is in no mood for talking” With that he through back the scrawny gnome, of what this town called an officer of the law. The lawman hits a few barrels and takes off running. “Bloody nine hells, I needs some grub” This foul mouth dwarf was heading for a local dive when he saw an advertisement for adventures. “Well now this be just the thing I need to get the edge off me axe” He chuckles darkly and with that thought walks to the building that’s needs a hired hand |
| Gene_Kynes10-14-03, 04:05 PM | (( Interesting, indeed. Mind if I...gasp...don't use Gene, Darvin, nor Bellarosa? In fact...a Blood Mage? Chaotic Good, and I won't use much of the Tome and Blood rules, and only slightly disturbing...but...fun t'play.)) |
| Gallic Imalustriel10-14-03, 11:12 PM | I entered the room, pretty curious about the identity of the man who proposed to hire us at such an exorbitant fee. What was my surprise when I saw a white-haired man, blind as a mole, who commanded such great armies. I bowed respectuously, uncertain of what to do in front of the sightless man. Then, with both boldness and hesitation, I managed to articulate a modest: "Milord? " |
| Acaed10-15-03, 08:46 AM | Acaed stood and strode over to the person who had entered and spoken. "Milord? Acaed will do. And...you must learn to guard your thoughts. I may be blind, but I'm surely not old. I'm not a year older than 27, and was born with this hair." Acaed grins as he says it. And of course, he is. The banter around the streets and bars is all conerning Acaed 'Demonsbane'. As it is easy to find out to newcomers to Elyiia that Acaed is quite young, at what age he mentioned, 27. He was just recently blinded when a trap he triggered on an inspection in a Legionarian factory went off in his face. "Please, have a seat in the common room further on down that hallway to your left. Once everyone is assembled, I will be there to brief everyone." Acaed sits back down. |
| Acaed10-15-03, 08:51 AM | A particularly foul looking dwarf comes in. Acaed is sitting, hands clasped in front of him. "You are here to adventure, dwarf? There's not many of your kind left in Elyiia. This is the first time I have seen one in this plane." ((Savael, Gene, sure! But Gene...the Necrosummoners of Legion are blood mages, too...might he be prone to switch sides?)) |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-15-03, 01:43 PM | Rocky sizes up the blind gray haired man. “I ve been hearing things about thee Acead, I knows thou is not as weak as thy eyes make ye.” He then walks closer standing just a foot away. “Now Rocky, that be me!” He points himself. “Is not afraid of traveling where danger lays and treasure maybe” The dwarf puts his axe over his left shoulder and winks. “Tis true me kind may be far and few in between theses parts. But that’s because they knew that I could handle the job alone. He then shows a toothy grin “So am I in?” |
| Opaque Divinity10-15-03, 02:14 PM | (Can I join? This sounds like a truly great setting) |
| Acaed10-15-03, 04:05 PM | "Sure, Rocky. You're in. I need all the troops I can get. Just down the hallway to the left, if you please." ((People who have talked to Acaed and are in the common room, please feel free to generate some conversation amongst the players, hey?)) ((See, this is one thing I can't stand. *Uses Cane to get to wheelchair* In my day, all threads were open unless marked closed. You could join any thread you wanted...So yes, everyone that reads this: NO NEED TO ASK ME TO JOIN! Go ahead and post! I like my threads OPEN! :-D )) |
| Opaque Divinity10-15-03, 04:09 PM | *A tall blond haired male walks up to Acaed. He bows* I am Sanctus and I wish to join your armies. I am a skilled cleric and I use my magic well. As long as my enemies are not human I can use my blade too. An undead life is not a life. |
| Acaed10-15-03, 04:37 PM | "Aye, Sanctus, but it's not undead we'll be fighting." Acaed bows back. "It's demons. What's your opinion on them, if you don't mind me asking?" |
| Opaque Divinity10-15-03, 04:44 PM | They are like undead to me. Or you might say, they are not worthy of life. They are distorted humans, scarred mentally as physically. I will not allow them in our lands. |
| Gene_Kynes10-15-03, 04:58 PM | (( Hmm. I only wanted to make sure someone who drained blood almost vampirically would be...suitable, eh? And..i'll have to post later. Awful, uncreative mood that's calling me towards the Gaming boards. ;) )) |
| Gallic Imalustriel10-15-03, 05:14 PM | "Excuse me dwarf, you said your name is Rocky, isn't it? I...how to put this correctly? I met one of your kind, a few times ago. I must say that it will be a pleasure to fight on the same side as you, if only you do fight with half the ferocity she had. Pray, tell me, would'you have heard of a city called Aulus, by any chance?" o O ( Please Corellon, do not send me once again in this nightmare.) |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-16-03, 02:18 AM | " Tis Rocky yes, who be thou? and was the woman named hammertoe? and I been to lots of places." |
| kulideb10-16-03, 04:31 AM | " Great! and I thought I was getting away from dwarfs!" said a voice (looking at Rocky) The vioice came from under a short beareded dwarf. The dwarf walked up to Acaed. "Mind if I join you?" The dwarf stands and waits looking around at the others gathered here. The dwarf wears studded leather armour and an old battered helmet, an axe is over one shoulder and a dagger tucked in to the belt. |
| Acaed10-16-03, 11:44 AM | "Of course, Master Dwarf." Acaed bows to kulideb. "Tis always an honor to fight side by side with your kind." He motions Sanctus and kulideb to the common room, and bows as they head down the hall. |
| Gallic Imalustriel10-16-03, 08:00 PM | (OOC: Rocky, was the woman in "The siege" called Hammertoe? I composed an ending for "The Siege", and you'll probably be pleased by it, BTW) (Ho, and I'll edit this post when he,ll have answered) |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-17-03, 12:03 AM | Ooc Yes she was called Hammertoe |
| kulideb10-17-03, 03:36 AM | The dwarf makes her way to the common room with Aced and Sanctus. "The names Diesa." she told them. |
| Opaque Divinity10-17-03, 05:54 AM | Hullo Diesa :). Where ye from? |
| Acaed10-17-03, 08:26 AM | Acaed bows out and goes back to the front room to wait for more adventuires. |
| Opaque Divinity10-17-03, 08:32 AM | Acaed, Have you recieved my mail by any chance? Walks around in the common room.. Dum da da.. |
| kulideb10-17-03, 03:20 PM | Diesa didnt really want to answer, but that was rude and she didnt want to cause upset. "The mountains." "Quite far away from here." She added as an after thought. |
| Gallic Imalustriel10-17-03, 06:45 PM | "Hammertoe, you say? Nope, never heard. The one I knew was called Nailfinger, a renowned smithy in the city I previously named. " "Tell me, Master Dwarf, why are you here? what causes of misfortune brought you in this plane, in needs so dire that you'd risk your life in a war against the dreaded legions of Necrosummoners?" |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-18-03, 12:14 AM | “Tis a simple thing really, me need of coin, and a good old fight with me axe never hurts,” Rocky sees the woman dwarf and tips his helmet to her. “Diesa be thy name yes? Well thy is a sight for yer kin folk. For I be hearing there is few dwarfs in these parts.” |
| kulideb10-18-03, 05:17 AM | "That was why I came here." she said. "I'd had enough of me kin telling what to do." She looked the Dwarf over, and pushed her helmet back a bit (it appears to be one size to large). "we'll get on just fine, as long as you dont start tell in me what to do." With that she held out her hand to the dwarf (it didnt hurt to try to make friends she though.) |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-18-03, 11:56 PM | Rocky leans over and kisses the lady dwarfs hand "Tis ok, I cleand me teeth like a good dwarf every month if I likes it or not" |
| kulideb10-19-03, 06:45 AM | May be it wouldnt be to bad to have a fellow dwarf here. "Do you know when we start?" |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-19-03, 08:30 AM | "Nay it seems we be waiting for are beards to grow gray as a frost giant." |
| kulideb10-19-03, 08:55 AM | "aye, you'd think humans would move a little faster what with their short life span." said Diesa with a chuckle. |
| Acaed10-21-03, 04:17 PM | Acaed waits for more adventurers. |
| Acaed10-23-03, 08:20 AM | Acaed sits down in his chair, and waits. |
| kulideb10-23-03, 08:26 AM | Diesa goes and sits by Acaed. "How many do we have to wait for?"she asks, "couldnt they join us later?" |
| Acaed10-23-03, 11:59 AM | "Until we have enough." He simply says. |
| Kami no Kenshin10-23-03, 06:48 PM | The lone swordsman had been wandering about when the two young soldiers accosted him. They had approached with weapons ready and ordered him to halt in a rather rude fashion. His first instinct had been to kill them and continue about his business. Then he noticed that the older one....his hand trembled fearfully. The swordsman was not sure what the soldier was afraid of....whether it was him or something else. But it was enough for him to excuse a little bit of rudeness. When they had demanded him to come with them, he merely nodded his assent. When he was finally brought before the blind man, he regarded him with....casual indifference. |
| Acaed10-24-03, 12:01 PM | The young blind man 'looks' at the swordsman, and the frightened soldiers behind him. "Thank you, Jul and Radn-- but please, do not stop innocent travelers on their way through town." Acaed bows to the swordsman. "My greetings to you, good sir. My apologies on the town guards. If you're not hot to be off and on your way, I would have a proposition for you..." |
| Kami no Kenshin10-24-03, 02:43 PM | He bows in return, and then raises an eyebrow, They are afraid of something, and that fear drives them to do things they wouldn't otherwise. Make your proposition, and I will listen." |
| Acaed10-24-03, 04:08 PM | "I know this makes me sound old, but, you act a lot like I did a few years ago. What a difference a few years can bring..." Acaed shakes his head, to clear off his musings. "My proposition is thus: If you agree to fight in a war, probably one of epic proportions, then, you will be adequately compensated. Also, a bonus to you if you can bring more fighters to the field." Acaed sits, and invites the swordsman to sit across from him. "If you do not accept my proposition, that is fine...but I would recommend getting off of this plane as fast as you can." He wears a grim smile now. He is not joking. |
| Kami no Kenshin10-25-03, 12:27 AM | Shrugs, and takes a seat, I'm new to these lands. I don't know anyone I can ask to help you. Besides.....I'm not interested in wealth, particularly not blood money. Even if the cause I'm fighting for is just. I'm not a mercenary. |
| Acaed10-25-03, 05:46 PM | "You speak in riddles, friend. Are you in, or out?" Acaed smiles. |
| Kami no Kenshin10-25-03, 09:11 PM | I speak no riddles. I merely state the fact that I cannot be bought. What I want to know is......why should I help you? What is your aim? |
| Kami no Kenshin10-28-03, 06:58 AM | ((Cough Cough.......)) |
| Acaed10-28-03, 04:07 PM | ((Sorry, I was away for 2 days...)) "If you do not wish to work for money, then what have you?" replied Acaed. "If you are not going to help us, then I have no reason to waste precious time explaining to you why we fight." It is not said maliciously; it is fairly obvious Acaed is at the end of his rope, time wise. |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-28-03, 11:59 PM | Rocky stands there and thinks about how they all seem to be waiting. |
| kulideb10-29-03, 05:07 AM | Diesa looks over to Rocky, she pulls a large bottle from her bag, uncorks it and takes a large gulp, she then hands it out to Rocky. |
| Kami no Kenshin10-29-03, 06:49 AM | I never said I wouldn't help you, only that I wanted to know who I was helping, and why, before I decided to help them. Perhaps I was mistaken in agreeing to come here. He bows, Good luck. He rises slowly and turns to leave....... |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-29-03, 02:37 PM | "Thou is my kind of woman" he grabs the ale and drinks deeply and then hands it back. "Now where having some fun!" |
| kulideb10-29-03, 03:27 PM | Diesa gave a hearty laugh and took another large gulp from the bottle. "And to think when I first set eyes on ya, I was dissapointed to see a fellow dwarf! well, I'm glad ya here now." She held the bottle back out to Rocky. |
| Acaed10-29-03, 06:31 PM | "We're fighting to prevent our country, Enshaee, from being ovverun by Legion, another country. As an outsider, what side is 'good' and 'evil' won't amtter to you. But if it helps, Enshaee's King has always been fair and just, and Legion is attacking us with their Necrosummoners." Acaed continues: "Necrosummoners are the foulest type of Necromancer. The can summon demons, and also raise the dead. In orevious wars I have fought against them, our own slain rise up to fight against us." |
| Kami no Kenshin10-30-03, 06:56 AM | My question was not whether you are good or evil. Good, evil, such concepts are just that, concepts. Often those who call themselves "good" sanction.....even condone "evil" deeds for what they call the "greater good." No....I care not for concepts of "good" or "evil". But.....you say you are defending your home, and THAT is something I can understand and accept. I will lend you my sword, for a time, if you will have it. |
| Acaed10-31-03, 11:53 AM | "Of course, we will have you" Says Acaed with a smile. Room down the corner, you know the drill... |
| Kami no Kenshin10-31-03, 06:06 PM | He nods slowly, Of course. I will await your instructions there. He turns, and makes his way down the hall to the appointed waiting room....... |
| Kami no Kenshin11-03-03, 05:33 AM | ((Cough, Cough........)) |
| Acaed11-03-03, 08:43 AM | Acaed waits in the outer entrance for morer adventurers |
| Opaque Divinity11-03-03, 09:23 AM | "I dont think more is coming, sir" |
| Acaed11-05-03, 08:36 AM | "I hope that more are...we need many more than this. I will wait just a little longer." |
| ruthia11-05-03, 08:55 AM | In a tavern on one of her many adventures, Ruthia reads the note stating a need for adventurers for an upcoming fight. Not really having much luck with her current assignment, finding her duaghter-in-law Star Bright, Ruthia decides that this may be what she needs to get her mind off of the worst of her troubles. **************************************** ************ Later on Ruthia finds herself at the place where the soldiers she had asked said Acaed, the man looking for help, was said to be. Sighing just before she enters o O(Why do all men assume because I look like a frail woman that a really am?) She enters the room and see's a blind man waiting there. Assuming this is Acaed she waits quietly for him to say something, her other sense telling her that this man, though blind, knows perfectly well that she is in the room. |
| Acaed11-05-03, 12:01 PM | Acaed looks at Ruthia. (Kind of a creepy effect, eh? A blind man looking? :) ) "I wasn't blind once, you know. Tis only a recent thing." He smiles. "I am assuming you are Ruthia? The same Ruthia I heard of in the Crossroads Tavern so long ago, called by the name Ruthia the White?" ((Keep in mind Acaed is a psion...so if any of you wish to guard your thoughts, please post so. Otherwise... :P) |
| ruthia11-05-03, 03:30 PM | (( ;) I'll keep that in mind)) Ruthia smiles "I figured it must be a new thing, the Acaed I heard about when I frequnted the CrossRoads was not blind. Yes I am the one who goes by the name Ruthia. I recently read your note in my travels and decided to see if the dragons of Pern could be any assistance to your cause. We are not many, but even a few dragons can be powerful." |
| Acaed11-06-03, 08:40 AM | "Of course, Ruthia. Dragons have not been seen in Elyiia for over a millenia. They would be a fearful and welcoming addition to the High King's troops." He motions for Ruthia to follow him, and he heads down the hall to the room where everyone is gathered. He clears his throat to get their attention. "I believe we have enough, now. You all have one night to prepare for a march to Nent...we leave in the morning. Beds are just down the hall." With that, he turns and leaves the room, and is gone. ((DM's Note to all players: Feel free to describe what your characters are doing for the night. The town they are gathered in, Wolc, is slightly south of Nent. [I will email you all a map later if you'd like])) |
| ruthia11-06-03, 09:45 AM | After Acaed lead her to the room where the others were and explained that they'd be leaving in the morning, Ruthia smiles at everyone before finding a spot to sit in the room. She closes her eyes and sends her thoughts out o O(Brad dear, come here. I have a job for you.) Moments later a small bronze fire lizard appears ((basically a dragon that gets no bigger the a large cat.)). "Ah Brad, there you are." Ruthia reaches into her pack that she carried in with her and pulls out a pen and some paper. After writing a brief note onto it she attaches it to Brads front talon. Brad looks down at it, then with a chirp he looks at Ruthia. "Yes dear I need you to deliver that to the council. Give it to Logan please Brad." Brad chirps and dissappears. Ruthia sits back and closes her eyes, knowing it will take till at least tommorrow afternoon before the council will tell her how many will join her. After a little while of sitting there, listening to whomever stays there and talks, Ruthia gets up and goes to a room to try and rest. |
| Opaque Divinity11-06-03, 10:21 AM | "Just down the hall? Uhhm right," *Sanctus walks down the hall and enters a small room. A bed, a desk and a lamp is all inside. He settles on the bed and simply sits, staring at the wall* |
| kulideb11-06-03, 04:10 PM | Diesa yawned. "Well, we had better get some rest if we are to be off tomorrow," she slapped Rocky on the back and made her way to her room. She opened up her backpack and emptied it out on to the bed. "Flint, steel, rations.." she checked ever thing off as she repacked her bag. Next she took a stone and used it to sharpen up the edge of her axe, while at the same time saying a prayer to her god moradin. A quater of the night seemed to be over before she finally went off to sleep. |
| Corwyn Burlisk11-06-03, 07:01 PM | *After reading the posting for soliders Corwyn had expected more time for coming mercenaries, after all it was hard for anyone to see how nine individuals could make so much differince in a war of such, dare we say epic, porportions? Seating himself, abit tired from the hypercognition, Corwyn sends a kind of note, audiable only to the mind of one psychicly gifted who had entered the room even a week before. Corwyn then sits quitely hoping the latent mental residuals in the room were strong enough to carry the mesage. A mesage that at least one more was willing to join in the battle.* ((OOC-That is of course if your still accepting adventurers/ posters, if not then there's plenty other threads to focus my attentions on.)) |
| Acaed11-06-03, 08:15 PM | ((no, no, of course, Corwyn! I am always accepting adventurers!)) For any of the adventurers that would like to find Acaed, he is out in the market district, batering for good and weapons. (Cough*Corwyn*Cough) |
| Corwyn Burlisk11-06-03, 08:48 PM | *Upon receiveing the response needed corwyn places the furnishings of the room back into their proper order. After exiting the ?building? Corwyn turns on his heal twoards the nearest tavern, pays for a room after only sligtly flirting with the barmaid, and naps in a modest but comfortable corner of the inn. He'd join the expidition the morning they left, knowing from personal experience how bothersome it was to be bothered during shoping.* ((OOC translation follows-I'm experiencing technical difficulties with my chat client currently, and probably won't be able to access the C-rooms until tomorrow. Unless of course this is unless you mean the emporium on the boards, where as I would look quite foolish:cool: )) |
| Kami no Kenshin11-07-03, 07:09 AM | Enters the waiting room, glancing around at those who are already there. He nods politely to them before finding a quiet corner to sharpen his swords..... |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-07-03, 01:12 PM | Rocky smiles at the young woman dwarf Diesa and takes off after her. Thinking she may want a little company tonight. :smirk: |
| kulideb11-07-03, 04:05 PM | Diesa found it hard to settle off, of course it could be that she had had too much to drink earlier. "well, theres one way to cure that." she said out loud to her self. She climbed out of bed and picked up a mug and a jug and placed them on a small table. She then unwrapped a couple of pies. "Can't drink on an empty stomach!" |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-08-03, 10:00 PM | Rocky opens the door without knocking. “Well I be hoping to catch ye in bed, Really!” He says with a wink “But thou has something almost as good as thy bed, and that tis thy drink” He sits down in the other empty chair, and takes out a dirty mug from his backpack. “Now hows about thee giving me some of thy drink?” |
| Acaed11-09-03, 12:18 AM | ((hey, now, none of that, you two dwarves...just 'cause Elyiia has a small dwarf population... :))) ((Corwyn, that's not what I meant. This thread is completely boards based. Not, chat. The market place of the city that the group is in, which is Nent.)) |
| kulideb11-09-03, 05:13 AM | ((What dwarfs arnt allowed to eat and drink!:smirk: )) Diesa wasnt really that surprised that the door opened and Rocky came in. "make yer self at home." she said while filling his mug. |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-09-03, 10:05 AM | Thy eyes is most alluring me dwarfen lassie” He takes that drink and gulps it down then asks for another. (ooc we all have a our hobbies) ;) |
| Acaed11-13-03, 11:57 AM | The morning dawns. Acaed waits patiently outside of the building all the others are in. He waits...to leave. |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-13-03, 12:52 PM | Getting out of bed he sees the lovely female dwarf Diesa , and kisses her on the head, as he makes his way to the door. Rocky grabs his axe and boots for he had slept in his pants and shirt, and heads for the exit. (ooc Hay now! he didnt say they did anything else but sleep) :smirk: He sees the morning sun and scratches his head. then catching sight of the bossman, Rocky spits on the ground and then speaks. "Tis what some people would say a good morning. Now Acaed when do we get paid for this adventure of thy making?" |
| ruthia11-13-03, 01:16 PM | Leaving her room, Ruthia shoulders her pack and readies to leave with the others. She takes one last look around the room to make sure she didn't leave anything she may need, Pulls the hood of her cloak up and walks out of the building into the sunshine. She blinks at the brightness, then notices Acaed and a dwarf standing togther. She walks over to them and stands slightly to one side, then says to Acaed after the dwarf finishes speaking "I sent a message back to the concil on Pern. I should hear back from Logan, our concil head, by the end of this day." She looks back at the building to watch the others come out to join them. |
| Acaed11-13-03, 03:48 PM | "Ah, but master dwarf, would you prefer payment in fine drink or gold?" Acaed laughs. "Once the war is over, my friend...gold in advance is no use if you're dead." He sounds grim, but there is a light tone to his voice. "Also, once we get to Nent, there will be a feast for the defenders, one larger than the largest one you've ever been to." He looks to Ruthia. "My thanks, good lady. We leave when the others get here." |
| Corwyn Burlisk11-13-03, 04:27 PM | *Finally finished with his mental conditioning, Corwyn shakes himself from his meditative state and slowly descends the stairs to exit the inn. Only mildly suprised to find them already up, he raps sharply three times on the beam of the door into the tavern, in order to keep his light step from seeming like the stealth of an assassin. When and if he gets their attention he holds his palms open at his sides, his leather scale sways midly in the breeze and the handle of an elven warblade hangs from his shoulders. His features are rather curious however, and it is hard to place his ancestry to celestial or dragon, while the human half of his nature is much more obvious.* "Were it huh, all the lure of gold and glory could muster from Wolc? Ah well, much can be said for the battles of the hopeless. Oh, forgive me, I've yet to introduce myself. *slightly bows* I am Corwyn Burlisk, formerly of Melanenam. Now a deposed blade saint in search of causes worth fighting for. This is the expidition isn't it, the one put together to stop the Legion? If so then I'd like to volunteer for a part on the side of Enshaee if you'll have me. I have a years worth of experience in the blood war, and a bit more in regular warfare. 'Sides, it looks as if you need all the help you can get." |
| kulideb11-14-03, 04:20 AM | Diesa was woken up by a kiss. She opened her eyes one at a time and looked at Rocky. "Morrning all ready?" She swung her legs out of the bed and looked down at her rumpled clothes well at least sleeping dressed ment there would be more time for breakfast. Grabing a pie and her backpack as well as her axe she sets off to meet the others. "morrning." she said with her mouth full. |
| Kami no Kenshin11-14-03, 02:33 PM | The sound of voices brings him out of his slumber. He opens his eyes slowly, and looks around, spotting the freshly assembled group of people, good morning. |
| Corwyn Burlisk11-14-03, 04:08 PM | *Notices the others of the group, and gives a respectful bow to Kami. His eyes seem to dance slightly when he sees Ruthia, saying little but noticing much.* "Shora, sword-ringers. You are here for the war as well I take it? *Turns back to Acead* "When do you plan on sending us out to Nent, surely the Legion won't wait for us to get there before they begin their pillaging, murder, and various other debaucheries that usually follow in the footsteps of fiend- summoners." |
| Acaed11-15-03, 09:49 AM | "We leave when everyone is assembled..." He sees Kami come out from the building. "We are all here, then?" |
| ruthia11-15-03, 11:22 AM | Ruthia eyes the others in the group from beneath her hood, unsure of where she stands among this group of fighters. As her eyes pass over Corwyn she seems to linger longer on him then anyone else, though no other reaction is visable. When Acaed asks if everyone is here she turns back to Acaed and waits for his next directions. o O( Looks like I'm the only woman here....Oh wait one of those dwarves is a woman.....wonder how.....Brad better get here soon with the concils descision......Guess he'll be able to find me.......Malendor should......Star Bright.....) ((OOC: I just relized that Ruthia would not know that Acaed is a psion, there fore would not be gaurding her thoughts untill she found out. The only thing she has heard is what they say around the tavern, and she never believes everything she hears. So basically You get to hear the jumbled thoughts of a dragon till it drives you nuts ;) )) |
| Acaed11-15-03, 08:50 PM | ((Everyone ready to go?)) |
| Kami no Kenshin11-15-03, 11:42 PM | ((Slips a magazine into his M16....."Locked, loaded and good to go, Sarge........" Oh.......sorry......wrong genre.....;) )) |
| ruthia11-15-03, 11:52 PM | ((Character.....$200 on internet........Pet Firelizard......$500 on internet.....Army of Dragons....Priceless Yup, ready to go. :D )) |
| Corwyn Burlisk11-17-03, 08:45 AM | ((Born ready o' fearless leader)) |
| kulideb11-18-03, 05:48 AM | Diesa hefted her axe on to one shoulder and her backpack on to the other. "All set!" |
| Acaed11-18-03, 12:14 PM | "All right, then, let's go!" Acaed leads them out of the city and onto a road, heading towards Nent. ((Okay, looks like I can't post the map here...so would you all be kind, and drop me a line at aseal0105@mail.com ? I can email the map to you, so you know where we are. Thanks!)) |
| ruthia11-18-03, 12:23 PM | Ruthia shoulders her pack and follows Acaed on to the road, towards an unknown future. |
| Kami no Kenshin11-18-03, 05:07 PM | Tucks the sheathed sword into his belt and quietly follws the mysterious blind leader..... How ironic. The blind leading the not blind....... |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-18-03, 11:44 PM | Rocky was slack jaw, with drool coming off of his mouth, when the action picked up. “Blast thee all to hell! What be going on? O’ya thou art ready, lets get to the fun part! The killing.” With that he hoisted, sheathed, and sholderd :P his Axe, Hammer, knife, and bourbon. |
| kulideb11-19-03, 04:28 AM | Diesa was glad to be on the move as they left the city behind and began to walk down the road. |
| Acaed11-19-03, 08:34 AM | The party is led into a small forest. However, they are not alone. Seeing as how this is a commonly used road to Nent, there are a lot of people coming and going up and down the road. It is quite abustle... |
| Acaed11-19-03, 08:34 AM | ((EDIT: Double Post)) |
| Corwyn Burlisk11-19-03, 08:56 AM | *Walks along the forest path, seeming unsuspiciuos but carefully eyeing each merchant and peasent along the road, Corwyn expects danger.* "You seem to have great influence on the dragons of Pern Ruthia, do you make your home on that plane?" *The question is asked with genuine curiosity, and a bit of openly displayed admiration.* |
| ruthia11-19-03, 09:55 AM | Taken note of everything around her, Ruthia may appear at easy, but she is ready for whatever this world can throw at her. She has been on to many adventures in her lifetime to believe that nothing will happen to them as they travel. As she's walking the person next to her ask her a question. As she turns her head she see's that it is the one named Corwyn. "You could say my home is there, I was born and raised on Pern and my family currently lives there. The Pern Dragons are unique because the work side by side with humans, though that is not why they listen to me." She doesn't go on, though she does seem fairly comfortable talking about her family history. She scans the skies as she walks, hoping her friend will be back with news soon. |
| Kami no Kenshin11-20-03, 07:25 AM | Glances around him, noting that the others appear to be watching travellers on the road. He narrows his eyes and casts his glance into the forest around them, adjusting the sword in his belt for an easier draw. How far do we need to travel to get where we're going? |
| kulideb11-20-03, 08:52 AM | Diesa walks along looking around, not really looking for trouble for it had a habit of finding her any way. The road seemed well used for there seemed to be plenty of people about. She listerns in to Ruthia conversation with Corwyn with intrest as she had heard of the pern dragons but never met one before. |
| Corwyn Burlisk11-20-03, 09:03 AM | "Truly? How altruistic of them to attempt the betterment of a lesser kind. And Perns history, do you know it in entirety? Or is it to ancient, to lost in the sands of time?" |
| ruthia11-20-03, 01:19 PM | "No, Perns history is know to many. I am a keeper of the history, though there are many others. And on Pern Humans and Dragons are equals, there is no lesser kind. Of course thats is also because of our history togther. Dragons would not exsist on Pern withouth the Humans, and Humans would not have survived on Pern without Dragons." Ruthia keeps her eyes on the road as she talks, though those listening can tell by the sound of her voice that has no shame in what she is saying, it is just a fact of life as she has been raised. |
| Corwyn Burlisk11-20-03, 03:57 PM | *Corwyn walks along the forest path, now chanting slightly in tounges, loud enough to be heard, but too much a whisper to be understood even by those near him. How he manages to keep up the chanting and carry on a conversation at the same time is anyone's best guess.* "My apologies if my question offended you, I am unused to being around such tolerance. If you don't mind my further delve into the depths of your knowledge of Pern I'd like to continue. Are there differint races and subraces of Perns dragonkind? Such as the mettalic, chromatic and gem? Or is thier choice and fate left to themselves, as free to choose as humankind." |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-21-03, 12:37 AM | Rocky winks at the prety girls who walk along the road. He barely seems to notice the others looking for danger. 'Tis good to be out in the open, now lets hope we find some fun" he pats his dagger and Axe |
| ruthia11-21-03, 08:50 AM | Ruthia seems to think for a moment before continuing. "Your questions do not offend, I am use to others reacting like this now. Subdivsions? Pern Does have subdivsions, but not like the ones here. I never encountered Metalics, CHromatics, or Gems untill I came here. Though we do have a few who perfer to work against the better good of all on Pern. Pern dragon's divid themselves by color and gender. Gold, the queens, and green are the only females of the race. Bronze, Brown, and Blue are the males. Whites appear from a mating every now and then, their one of the few colors who can be either male or female. Of course, this is how Pern dragons where designed to be." She stops momentarily, relizing she may have gone a little to far with that statment. She walks in silence waiting to see if this one will react like all the others who have heard this story. |
| Corwyn Burlisk11-21-03, 09:03 AM | *Corwyn's chanting slowly mounts to audibility and sharply stops. His question continue, but seem to be done with a bit more reserve, having noticed a the slight change in the step of the conversation.* "Hmmn, how very unique, it is unfortunate more of the planes do not work in such a harmonious way. If you'll indulge my curiosity only once more I'd like to ask you if there is any record a group of dragons migrating from Pern to a different material plane. To be specific this variety would be similar to mundane dragons, but a bit smaller, averaging twelve feet long at the age of maturity. They would be leg-less too, with scales that diverge on color like a prisimspray in a jungle. This variety would also be considerably more skilled in psionics rather then magic." *There is a bit of urgency as he speaks of the other kind, the trained ear would detect a hint of desperateness in his voice.* |
| ruthia11-21-03, 09:25 AM | Ruthia thinks a moment "Well to tell you the truth, Pern dragons have no magic unless they are taught. W...I mean they have the powers of telepathy, telekenises, and teleportation. But that is how they were designed by the creators. As for a migration, well there are records of Dragons going missing mid-teleport and never being seen on Pern again. And Pern dragons at first only started out at around twelve foot long. So it's possible. Plus we have no record of what happened to the unhatched eggs of the creators first attempts at making dragons." She pauses again. |
| Corwyn Burlisk11-21-03, 12:42 PM | *Nods, his leather scale armor brushing slightly against his unsheathed warblade. The anticipation is gone from his voice, he speaks now in a normal tone, and even with to those who can read minds everything seems perfectly normal. He glaces at the shadows between the trees every now and then, expectatntly.* "Pern seems an unlikely place then." *That statement seems more to just be Corwyn thinking out loud, and isn't directed twoards Ruthia* "Anything's possible I guess. So whats in it for the armies of Pern to defend Enshaee from the Legion?" |
| ruthia11-21-03, 01:42 PM | At this question Ruthia smiles. "Thats just it, there really is nothing in it for us. It basically comes down to which dragons are bored with our mundane exsitance on Pern. There really has not been much to do since we defeated Guardian James and his henchman*. Plus we are trying to repay the people who helped us by helping others." She stops there, still smiling to herself, but there is a feeling that she left something unsaid. o O(Maybe I'll find Ramoth or Star Bright. Where did the two of them run off too?) ((* Played out in Rescue Ramoth on these boards and Pern, the Rescue on the old boards (Gosh I did a lot of rescueing.))) |
| Corwyn Burlisk11-22-03, 03:00 PM | *Corwyn chuckles at this, his smile broadening.* "Heh, Idle hands then." *Slowly a shadow cast by one of the trees elongates, grows to three dimensions, and takes on a horselike shape. However only at great distances could the alien thing be mistaken for a horse, it's six legs set it out the most, and it's dark gray coat also showed it's differince. Looking too long at it may cause your eye's to water, it's substance seems to be continuously shifiting in and out of the shadow plane. Corwyn clicks in rapid succession, calling the ecalypse to him. With little fanfare he mounts the shadow horse and waves his hand in the same direction of the trees. He ignores any stares or look of shock from the commoners.* "Would anyone else prefer a ride to walking?" |
| ruthia11-24-03, 08:17 AM | "I like to walk." And with that Ruthia contunies to walk in silence. |
| Corwyn Burlisk11-24-03, 09:05 AM | *Shrugs, and keeps the ecalypse troting along the forest path. He keeps his eyes trained to the trees, on the lookout for anything suspiscious.* |
| Vashano Aermane11-25-03, 09:56 PM | From behind a tree...a tree much too small to hide his size, but he was still somehow hard to see...moved a large figure of roughly over two metres of height, providing a block of sorts to the party. It's features were nearly impossible to describe, due to a massive cloak and hood concealing it's features, leaving only the outline of massive shoulders and heavily sarcous build. One highly visible thing, however, is it's weapon...a jagged trident of appearently bad workmanship, but closer examination reveals it was coldly hewn. The figure doesn't move, save for when it sees Acaed. "Bliiihhhhhnd....hwon...." The voice is etheral...subtle...and obviously speaking with vocal cords never meant to speak common. "....Hye....wissshh....t'hoo...join....hy ou..." Those of particularly good eyesight can notice where the creature should leave footsteps...there is an odd pattern of a curving line that dissapears to under his cloak. "...do...hyoo....ack...sssssept?" |
| Kami no Kenshin11-26-03, 06:59 AM | ((It would seem our fearless leader is a bit less......fearless than we thought......)) |
| Corwyn Burlisk11-26-03, 08:50 AM | *The ecalypse stops dead in it's tracks, and emits a low rumbling closer to a growl then what you'd expect from a normal horse. Corwyn pats his hand against the shade, quieting it, as he darts looks back and forth from the new comer to Acead.* |
| Kami no Kenshin11-27-03, 07:27 AM | ((Cough Cough......:bump: .......I promised myself I'd never use that smilie......oh well.......)) |
| ThePreacher11-29-03, 04:19 AM | From far away, there can be heard a loud thundering noise. With time, the noise can be made out as horse hooves upon the solid earth. Then, on the horizone line, just where the party entered the forest, appear small dark figures. As they progress, galloping upon the forest's soil, the dark characters emerge into the Mounted figures of horseback riders. As they come closer to the group (about 100 meters away), one could notice the leader (differing from the others) is the rider infront. He is clad in silver-coloured full platemail armor, and his silver war-crown-shaped helm shines with light... But the light is not only the sunrays, reflected on the smooth metal, but as if it illuminates from an inner source. The others are also clad in full platemail, but they are distinctively of lesser rank than the one infront. The whole group consists of about 50 riders, mounted upon white-silver war-horses. It is quite an impressive group, on first glance... And even more impressive on the second one (:D ). When the leader spots that the party they were headed for has stopped, and a dark tall figure has emerged from the woods, he gives a "Haste!" shout, and the party of 50 mounted silver knights gallopes towards the party infront of them. "Halt!" They stop their horses, a few feet away from where the other party has stopped, They stop in a "phalanx" sort of formation. They halt and wait for developements. |
| Corwyn Burlisk11-30-03, 01:38 PM | *Waits for Acead to respond, as chrickets chirp in the distance. Chirp, Chirp :twitch: * |
| Acaed12-01-03, 08:31 AM | ((Sorry, my computer crashed over the holiday weekend. No 'Net access)) Acaed simply stares at the leader of the party...an odd thing indeed for a blind man to be doing. "Are you allies of the High King?" he asks, finally. ((Please, everyone, email me again. I tried to send out the map to people who emailed me first...but I want to make sure everyone can see where we are.)) |
| ThePreacher12-01-03, 09:21 AM | "Greetings m'lord! No, we are not allies of the High King. My name is Lord Lonthar, paladin of the Order of the Radiant Heart, and these are my comrades and friends to arms. We have come all the way from Cormyr... The order sent us, as our headmaster believes this war might be of great consequences, dire or good, to all of the lands. As I said, we are no allies of the High King, but we are allies of any who's cause is just, therefore the Order's elite is at your service, kind lord. " Lord Lonthar unsheathed his Scimitar-Katana like sword, and saluted the man named Acaed. The other 50 warriors did the same. |
| Acaed12-01-03, 11:12 AM | "Cormyr, eh? Faerun is quite a ways off, you have traveled quite a long ways, my friends. You are more than welcome to join us. We march to Nent, a town north of here." |
| ThePreacher12-01-03, 12:05 PM | "Then Nent it is. By the way, who is that tall dark fella overthere?" He pointed to the dark cloaked figure that walked out of the woods a few minutes ago. |
| Vashano Aermane12-01-03, 12:16 PM | The figure simply gave a fast series of hisses that served him as a laugh. "I sssuppose...I'm...diffikult...to...notis sse..." He then approached closer to Acaed, leaving deeper single-limb prints behind him...those in tune with nature, or even have encountered a snake before...can easily identify the marks of a slithering of sort. "...I offer...my...sssskillss...onssse again, Blihnd One..." |
| kulideb12-02-03, 05:25 AM | Diesa had marched along listerning to Ruthia talk about Pern. She almost walked into the person in front of her when the group stopped. She took a step to the side so she could see what the hold up was, seeing the large group in front o them she brought her axe down from her shoulder ready. She was sort of disapinted to hear they were allies. The dwarf turned her head as she heard a hissing sound again she got her axe ready as a figure aproached their leader. "Well, the more the merrier I guess!" she said when he to offered his services to Acaed. |
| ruthia12-02-03, 08:38 AM | Ruthia gives out a quiet little hiss of her own when the Dark Shadowy guy approaches Acaed. ((Only those really close to her would have heard it.)) She doesn't know why, but for some reason she doesn't trust this guy, something about him isn't right. |
| ThePreacher12-02-03, 10:43 AM | ((ooc: kuli, just wanted to ask you: how come my group is infront of you, if we came only after the whole party stopped when they saw the dark tall figure from the woods? Or are you walking in a distance of a couple of miles from the rest of the party?... )) |
| Acaed12-02-03, 11:12 AM | ((Here's how I imagined it: The main party in the middle of the road, the riders coming from the west (another road connecting to the main one), and the snake-like figure off to the right, in the forest.)) ((Sorry, Vashano, for not getting to you sooner.)) Acaed turns from the riders, to the snake-like figure. He 'looks' at it. "You are indeed difficult to notice, when I have a group of fifty armed riders in front of me to deal with," chuckled Acaed. "I will take you up on your offer. What do you wish in compensation?" Thsi last question he poses to both the riders and the snake-like figure. "These in my party are being rewarded with large amounts of gold. Do you wish the same?" |
| ThePreacher12-02-03, 11:28 AM | "We have no need for rewards sire, we have come to bear the Order's commands, and we offer our help to all those in need". As he said that, it was as if his helm illuminated light from within... But any observants would probably relate that to the sunrays reflecting upon the smooth metal. All the other riders remained perfectly still, while their leader announced there will be no reward for their actions. |
| Vashano Aermane12-03-03, 03:00 PM | The figure simply shook it's head. "Gold...would be...fyhne..." The figure simply curves around Acaed, pondering...weighing it's words. "I am...cahlled....Vassshano. It would be a pleahssure to fight for you...Blihnd one." He then moves to the side of Acaed, still failing to remove his own cloak...but a glimpse of a scaled, aqua-blue and green tail is granted to those trying to decipher some information about the creature, but is soon concealed by tattered rag. |
| Golddigger Dwarf12-04-03, 02:09 AM | “Bloody hell can we get past all theses righteous do gooders and get on down the rode.” Rocky didn’t mind the knights joining he just didn’t see why they always had to blab. He spits on the ground for good measure. |
| Acaed12-04-03, 11:22 AM | "I agree, Rocky. Let's go, everyone! If you get left behind...it's not our problem." He leads them on down the road. |
| Corwyn Burlisk12-05-03, 03:53 PM | *Ushers his ecalypse forward, giving a slight sideways glance at the serpentine ?humaniod?creature? as he continues down the forest trail.* |
| kulideb12-05-03, 03:57 PM | Diesa swung her axe back on her shoulder and set off again. |
| ruthia12-05-03, 08:41 PM | Ruthia walks in silence. |
| ThePreacher12-06-03, 05:39 AM | The 51 men touch the ground and mount their horses. The cavalery rides on, peacefully, in a slow pace. |
| Corwyn Burlisk12-15-03, 12:30 PM | OOC((*Gives thread a stern click in the rear:tiphat:*)) |
| Acaed12-18-03, 04:30 PM | ((Um, exams end tomorrow. Expect more action then.)) |
| Corwyn Burlisk12-30-03, 03:01 AM | *Runs to the front of a cart and kills a random donkey, chaos ensues.* ((OOC-Helooo, anyone here, Helooo?)) |
| ThePreacher12-30-03, 03:43 AM | ((OOC: Yea Acaed, your post about the exams endin "tommorow" was quite a long time ago, what gives? )) |
| Acaed01-08-04, 09:22 AM | ((Sigh, give me one more day, okay, everyone? Conmputer viruses, suck majorly.)) |
| ruthia01-08-04, 10:08 AM | ((OOC: Been there. Computure viruses Suck!)) |
| ThePreacher01-08-04, 12:14 PM | ((ooc: Just like Monica Levinsky? )) |
| Acaed01-14-04, 11:38 AM | The party continues unhindered through the forest. At night, as they leave the forest, Acaed stops them so as to camp in it's shelter. "Everyone here?" the blind man asks. |
| ruthia01-14-04, 12:45 PM | Ruthia had been walking in silence up to this point. When Acaed speaks, she smilies "So we're stopping for the night. How much futher do we need to travel?" As she says this she takes off her travlers bag and starts rumaging through it for something. o O(Ah there it is, my book. Now if I can only find my pen...ah ha! Since we're stopped now as is good as time as any to make some more notes...) Ruthia sits down with the book and pen in her hand. Her eyes shut in concentration for a bit, then a tiny ball of light appears floating just above the book as she starts writing in it. |
| ThePreacher01-14-04, 02:16 PM | The paladins stop their horses and get off to the ground. They break camp near the others and Lord Lonthar orders a dozen men to patrol the area. The Knights take their orders and while a few venture into the woods, the others stand guard on their sentry posts. |
| kulideb01-15-04, 04:07 AM | Diesa sat down, and pushed her helmet back. She opened her pack, and bought out some food. She sat there munching for a while. |
| Corwyn Burlisk01-16-04, 04:08 PM | *Moves to the near center of the gathering and sits cross legged in a meditative postion, breathing slowing to an almost nonexistant state as he prepares for the battle to come.* |
| Acaed01-18-04, 03:25 PM | DM's Note: Acaed's small camp settles down for the night. All is relatively quiet...until midnight. Suddenly, the smell of acrid smoke washes upon the camp. However, there is no fire in sight. Acaed is already awake, helps rouse people. When everyone is awake, he leads them fuly out of the forest. They group is now on a small cliff overlooking the town of Nent. *** The town of Nent is a small town on the edge of the capital city Maestra's slums. It is a quiet town, keeping to itself and regularly paying its tithes to the High King. It is also in a direct path from the country of Legion to Maestra. The town is in flames, and various monster run amok through it, pillaging, reaping, and generally sacking the city. From behind the blazing city, adancing at a slow pace, can be seen ranks upon ranks upon ranks of gleaming armor and flashing swords. *** These are the demons, summoned up from the Nine Hells by the Necrosummoners of Legion. There are at least (as visible in the dark) 10,000 demons...and for each demon, there is at least one Necorsummoner. They are advancing on Nent. *** "Damn." Acaed 'looks' out over the town (he IS blind, remember) "We head into the town. Save any that you can, get any supplies that you can, then get the hells back up here to this cliff. We cannot fight this horde alone." With that, Acaed draws his sword and begins to run down the gentle slope towards burning Nent. |
| ThePreacher01-18-04, 04:03 PM | Following Acaed, the 51 mounted warriors galope down the slope and to the burning village - storming the groups of maraudering demons. The white war horses run in a stampede, crushing any foe in their way. Lord lonthar holds his war hammer in his right, landing it on demon and devil. They enter the village and while fighting the demons they search for any survivors. |
| ruthia01-18-04, 04:43 PM | After seeing the horrible view from the cliff, Ruthia nods her agreement with what Acaed said. Knowing he can't see, not really caring at this point, Ruthia also rushes down to the town. Sticking behind the paladins, Ruthia lets them cut a safe path that she follows in. She enters the town behind them and begins to look for anything or anyone usefull.......... |
| Corwyn Burlisk01-21-04, 04:13 PM | *Corwyn swears loudly in the wild tounge of the slaad as he pushes the eclypse to the village. Meanwhile a long thin wall of ice erupts out of the ground, soaking the ground beneath it into a swirl of mud and mire. ((this is a low DC epic spell, and should slow the army by little more then minuets, assuming the entities of this world don't keep powers such as that in check, your discretion)) He rides through and in between the buildings of Nent with abandon, using the shadow steeds incorpreality to bring villagers through the flames to relative saftey. Eventually the umburals unique ability runs out, sending the mount galloping back into the shadow. Now bereft of mobility Corwyn proceeds with a bit more caution, using what remains of his sorcerous powers to lower the blaze of the larger fires, and leading crowds of peasents away from the enroaching army.* |
| Acaed01-23-04, 01:21 PM | Acaed fights left and right through the city, aiding people as he can and using to dual swords to wreak havoc on the minor demons as they now begin to flood the city. |
| ruthia01-24-04, 01:47 PM | Staying away from the fighting Ruthia manages to find several useful things. The first was some supplies, which she quickly teleported to a spot on the cliff. Next she found a small group of children huddled under the wreckage of a building, crying in fear. After attempting to calm them slightly she leads them back out of town and onto the hill over looking the town where Acaed's group first saw the village from. Watching for a few minutes she see's a group of fleeing woman. Calling out to them she manages to get ones attention, who happens to regonize some of the children Ruthia had saved. Thanking Ruthia, the Woman leads the kids away from the fight. o O(I hope they find safety) With that she sits on the cliff and awaits the others. |
| Kami no Kenshin01-26-04, 08:08 AM | ((Hey!! You're back!!)) He wades into the fighting, drawning his twin blades. A curious smile plays across his face as he kills one demon, and then another and another.... It seems by his method of fighting that he is used to battling creatures like these. He seems to relish in the fear and confusion that he causes amongst thier ranks as he cuts into them. He continues to cut left and right into the ranks as he advances toward the center, searching for the leader.... |
| Acaed01-28-04, 04:42 PM | The horde within the city swells suddenly to immense proportions. Kami is quickly, even for all his skill, overwhelmed. So, unfortunately, is everyone else. "Abandon the city! We head for Llaaq'nay'quae!" ((Confused? So am I, occasionally. For all the players, here's a map: Click here for a map of elyiia! (http://elyiia.tripod.com/mapbig.htm) )) There were going to head away from the capital city--it was doomed, with Nent only 20 miles from it. The group would meet up with Acaed's wife at Lyrait, a city past Llaaq'nay'quae (Lyrait is across the river). Supposedly, she has been gathering mages for their fight...then they would march from Lyrait to Legion, and head for the capital city. All this Acaed had explained to them the night before, should Nent fall. |
| Kami no Kenshin01-28-04, 06:11 PM | He falls back, cutting down a few more of the creatures as he does so.... |
| ruthia01-29-04, 09:09 AM | Ruthia watches the scene for a few more minutes and see's that her travel companions are running away from the city. Gathering all the supplies she found and pushing them into her bag she heads off in a direction that looks like it will allow her to intersect with the group. ((OOC: Ruthia is not really much of a fighter in human form. She can defend herself and others if need be, but prefurs to do things the way she just did. She could of changed to dragon form, thus making her a better fighter, but has decided to keep that hand for the bigger battle when and if the others of Pern join her.)) |
| Corwyn Burlisk01-29-04, 12:19 PM | *Though still holding his own Corwyn becomes increasingly overwhelmed, as the minor demons swarm about Nent. He takes one last scan of the area, making sure none of his companions are still caught in the slaughter. He makes a break for it once in the open, hoping to lure as many of the demons out of the city as he escapes.* |
| ThePreacher01-29-04, 02:33 PM | The knights, slashing and bashing their way through the swarm of newly emerged demons are sorrounded and hear the call for a fallback. "Fallback! fallback! Ghior, Jhad! Flank posts, we ride!" Areth Was shouting out orders while flaying demons with his warhammer. The paladins turn their horses and gallope back in the direction of the hilltop. They spot Kami Kenshin and head towards him sourrounding him and fending the swarming fiends, thus making his retreat safer. "Stay together men! Tight formation! Don't let them breach! Move!" The knights slowly fellback, in formation, to the top of the hill. |
| Kami no Kenshin01-29-04, 04:14 PM | He laughs, I need no aid from you. I've killed more of these creatures in my time than your entire group put together. I will provide a distraction for the resto of you to escape. He turns, cutting down a creature with each of the two swords in his hands.... |
| ThePreacher01-30-04, 04:14 AM | As the man whom the knights tried to protect yells out his insults, the paladins do not seem to pay attention, busy in keeping their formation. Areth Lonthar, The leader gallopes ahead, watching Corwyn being chased by an overwhelming ammount of demons. "This is no good... A hundred men cannot fend off tens of thousands. We must retreat quickly..." He speaks to himself, under his battle helmet. As the knights reach the hill, the paladin commander gathers his men and they ride fast to where corwyn is headed. "You need help friend?" The knights sorround him and Areth reaches out his hand, offering him to jump on the ride. |
| Corwyn Burlisk01-30-04, 09:05 AM | "My thanks, a distraction is just what I needed." *Corwyn takes the paladins hand, accepting the ride. As the mount gallopes away Corwyn chants deep and reverberating words as magic permeates through the forest. A powerful storm erupts unto Nent, winds only slightly below hurricane force. As the last of the band rides away the forest animates, trees closing themselves together, locking the pahts out of Nent and keeping the companions escape covered. When in safety he issues forth a whisper wind, aimed in a southernly direction, but lage enough to cover a few miles radius.* "Ruthia, Acead?" "This is Corwyn, myself, the paladins, and Kami have escaped Nent with what survivors we could find. We will meet you at Llaaq'nay'quae." |
| ruthia01-31-04, 09:32 PM | Ruthia nods to herself after recieving Corwyn's message and heads for Llaaq'nay'quae, sticking to cover where she can in case any of the demons try to spot her. |
| Acaed02-19-04, 04:34 PM | ((I nearly forgot...)) Acaed leads the survivors--hustling--towards Llaq'nay'quae. |
| Acaed02-25-04, 08:32 AM | ((I need at least 4 responses or I'll just end this game...please? Respond?)) |
| Kami no Kenshin02-25-04, 09:10 AM | He kills a few more creatures that draw near, cutting them down as though they are nothing until he is certain everyone has some distance. He then turns and sprints to catch up.... ((Numero Uno. TAG! Someone else is it.)) |
| ruthia02-25-04, 10:13 AM | Ruthia picks up the pace once she relizes the demons are not very interested in her. o O(With a little luck hopefully it won't take me long to get to get to Llaaq'nay'quae) ((Ok Who's next!) |
| ThePreacher02-25-04, 11:36 AM | ((ooc: this sounded interesting at first, but this thread is going nowhere for 5 pages.)) |
| ruthia02-25-04, 04:57 PM | ((OOC: I think it really boils down to the fact that Acaed isn't around the Wizards boards very often. That and no one else real knows what direction he wants to take this. Maybe if we all reply and move our butts to the next step we can get this thread going. For example I'll speed Ruthia up.)) *Several days later.* Ruthia makes it to Llaaq'nay'quae without further incident. She makes her way through the gate with a nod to the gaurds and begins to search for the rest of the party..... ((OOC: See, that's how to make it faster. Now some one else try :D )) |
| Corwyn Burlisk03-01-04, 12:27 PM | *Now at Llaaq'nay'quae, Corwyn moves immeadiatley to hire mercenaries for the comming battles. He's haggleing over prices with a maug Thaneherald when he spots Ruthia.* "Ruthia, over here! The others have gone their seperate ways for the time being, until the necrosummoners arrive. Were you able to get the refugee's to safety?" |
| ruthia03-04-04, 08:16 AM | Ruthia smilies as she see's Corwyn and walks over to him. "Yes, I managed to find a group of children and get them to safety. Plus I managed to get some food to send with their parents as they travel so they shouldn't go hungery." She pauses and looks around "So now we just wait right?" Just then a small bronzes dragon appears in the sky. No bigger then a house cat, it is Ruthia's best friend and companion, Brad. He lands on he shoulder with a chirp and holds out leg that has a message attached. Ruthia unties it, scratches Brads eyeridges as he settles on to her shoulder better, and begins to read the message. She growls to herself as she reads, then pockets the message. Brad chirps lazily from his spot. "No Brad it's not your fault, you did your job well. I guess some support will be better then none. Thank you Brad." Brad slowly closes his eyes and nods off as Ruthia follows Corwyn around as he does his errands. ((OOC: Ok folks, now I know Corwyn, Kami, and I are not the only ones out there. :D Come on, let's get a move on and get to the fight!)) |
| Kami no Kenshin03-04-04, 03:40 PM | ((No.... I think that this thread is dead. Acaed has not posted for 8 days, most people who were here have stopped posting. Preacher has basically SAID that he's done here. I suggest we give it a decent burial and move on. I'm not interested in continuing this, anyway. It's taken too long for anything to happen.)) |
| Corwyn Burlisk03-05-04, 08:47 AM | ((Figures, I'd like to continue this but it seems nearly deceased. Acead, were still here, waiting.)) |
| ruthia03-05-04, 08:49 AM | ((Well we tried. Maybe next time I'm over in Icefall I'll give Acaed a kick for letting this die so easily. Oh well, It was ok while it lasted.)) |
| Kami no Kenshin03-05-04, 09:12 AM | ((Stands over thread with Large Caliber Handgun.... "Good bye Old Horse!" *sniff* BLAM!)) |
| Acaed03-05-04, 10:03 AM | ((Official OOC note: Arrgh! I know what the problem is--I check my own forum, IceFall, more than I check here. | Acaed03-18-04, 12:10 AM | Anyone else? No? Maybe this should just slowly die... |
