Okay, I have my first book pretty much ready to publish on RPGNow, but I have one question: What all do I need in the book as far as legal stuff goes(aside from the OGL)?

OGC must be visibly designated.

PI must be visibly designated.

Cite other sources you're using (aside from the SRD) in the Section 15 Copyright Notice. If you're Contributing OGC of your own creation, cite the product, too.

CONSULT WITH YOUR LAWYER.

CONSULT WITH YOUR LAWYER.

That part most of all.

Remember this mantra (I wish it were my original idea, but I read it here on these boards): If you don't expect to make enough money off this product to pay for a lawyer, maybe you need to seriously re-think whether you want to do it at all.

Because (and now this is my own thoughts from my own experience): if things go wrong, it can wind up costing you FAR more money than a laywer would set you back, and it is extremely foolish to try to "save" a few hundred dollars when there are tens of thousands of dollars on the line.

It also couldn't hurt to get a proofreader or two who are familiar with the OGL and/or the SRD, as they might be able to point out any obvious violations that slipped past you. They might help you spot typos, too. :)
