Right, this may have been done before, but here I am, just in case. First, crack your copy of complete divine open. First level of RSoP gives radiance, making spells with the light descriptor one level higher, right? Right, and clerics, to my knowledge, know their entire spell list, whether they can actually cast the spells on it or not? Okay, so that means that you can use it in conjunction with domain spontaneity (referred to as DS from this point on) to cast spells of a higher level than the spell you used to power it, or even a spell more powerful than one that you can use. I'll give an example of each...

1: Daylight is a 3rd level spell. You have the feat, say, DS (healing). With radiance, daylight counts as a 4th level spell, and as such you can trade it in for a 4th level spell or lower from your healing domain.

2: Take a cleric 6/RSoP 3. Now, you have the blistering radiance spell, a 5th level spell with the light descriptor. With radiance, it's a 6th level spell. Because of this, you can swap it out for a 6th level or lower spell from whatever domain you chose, even though you can't actually cast 6th level spells yet! Yay!

Alright, either I'm wrong, or it's been done before, but could anyone let me know if it works?

Hmm, it's the divine Killer Gnome! Woo! Speaking of which, this stacks with Earth Spell and Improved Sigil (Krau). Just sayin'.

What ways do we know of to increase the level of a spell?
I have:
Sanctum Spell
Earth Spell
Radiant Servant
Improved Sigil (Krau)
Divine Metamagic (Heighten) or Naenhoon

Interesting...

What happens with the following: A Cleric/RSOP that has DS(Healing) and DS(Luck).

He begins to cast Daylight (4th level spell)
Using Domain Spontaneity, it is traded out for Luck's 4th level spell.
Using Domain Spontaneity, that is traded out for a Heightened (to 4th) Daylight (5th level spell)
Using Domain Spontaneity, it is traded out for Luck's 5th level spell.
Using Domain Spontaneity, that is traded out for a Heightened (to 5th) Daylight (6th level spell)
and so on, until...
Using Domain Spontaneity, it is traded out for Miracle.

Off course, steps can be skipped with Sanctum and whatnot. The issue seems to be that you can't trade out a spell of level Z for a Spell of level X + Y metamagic (I think). [thinking out loud] Unless...Favored Soul. But Favored Souls don't get domains...Contemplative. Unfortunately, that is a high-level PrC. [/thinking out loud]

This might just be a deadly stepladder of Divine Killer Gnome if someone can kickstart it.

Can't see that working.

Choosing to swap a spell out is something you do before you cast, and Radiance applies at time of casting, so you can't apply the latter before the former.

The wording might possibly support some of the other spell-level-boost tricks, however...

takes a full round to spont apply a metamagic
