Otherwise, use psionics (Shocking First Bullet = hammer at the least) and make them astral constructs (which has closer flavour anyway). http://www.geocities.com/lordroelon/Kazuma04.jpg |

It's the SRD for BESM d20. http://www.opengamingfoundation.org/animesrd.html Take a close look at the Attributes section once you've got the basics down. Some alters could work as Alternate Form attributes, with ranks of Special Attack adding the Dependent: Alternate Form defect. Giant walking alters can be represented by high ranks of Pet Monster, and alter weapons can be Items of Power. For psychic alters, Magic can represent a single limited ability that improves with the character, as an alternative to buying straight ranks of psi abilities Dependent on an Alternate Form. Truly powerful psi is Dynamic Sorcery using Energy as power points for manifestations in Expanded Psionics, but you might not want that if you're going to have Magic instead. Evolved alters just require more Character Points, which can be obtained by leveling up or awarded individually. For character classes, you may want to consider the Adventurer because of its ability to rack up Character points. If you still don't feel like anything quite fits into your campaign world, an optional rules index has a section on classless characters (EDIT: link is gone, but you can find the same conversion rules in the classes section of the original SRD). You can use the system to convert point costs for building your own classes, if you wanted to make base classes related to alter types, for example. I think you'll find this system more accommodating than trying to adapt D&D items for anime roles they weren't designed for. |
