| Lord Tarran02-17-04, 04:53 PM | ((OOC: IF I had to ask permission to start this, I'm sorry, but I didn't see anything. Please don't squish, dear Siani, dear Adele, dear Pounamu.)) Before you stands a beautiful inn. It is a quaint building, only three stories high. Its roof is the color of dragon scales, its wood a finely weathered oak. Above the door is a sign: Safe Haven Inn With the symbol of a leaf above it. THe leaf has been magically made to wave in the wind, along with the sign. As you enter, you see a fairly large room, well lit everywhere except the corners. At the bar stands a young girl, with wavy brown hair, and soft brown eyes. She can't be any older than 12. She waves to you as you enter, saying in a light voice: Heya! I'm Rachel Inaluna. My dad's out back. He's Connor Inaluna. We have everything you can imagine here, what can I getcha'. Her father is to been seen coming in from the kitchen, wiping his hands on a cloth. His hair and eyes are the same shade as his daughter's, but he wears glasses, that he glances at you over. He has a perpetual smile on his face, his clothes simple, but much physical power and grace can be seen as he leaps over the counter, without holding on to anything. He takes a seat at the bar, watching the door, fiddling with a lovely golden dagger that had appeared out of thin air. From the looks of things, you would say he's a mage, but you can't really be sure. |
| Lucky Leprechaun02-17-04, 07:00 PM | A cute little leprechaun walks in and smiles, as he hops on to the bar. Seeing two peaces of bread he grabs them, and makes what some would call a make shift bed He is wearing a green vest and slacks, with a red cumber bun. A smart looking fedora is on his head that seems to go nicely, with his red curly hair. Laying his very small body on the bread, the Leprechaun takes the other slice and puts it on top. Within a few minutes snoring could be heard, as the top bread slowly moved with his breathing. |
| Lord Tarran02-17-04, 07:19 PM | Connor smiles, and points his finger at the bread. He moves it around the room, to a box marked, "Sleeping little people smaller than halflings." |
| Lord Tarran02-18-04, 09:15 PM | Connor stands near the door, gazing out. In his hands, he fiddles with a silver ball, that appears and disappears constantly. You cna't tell if its through magic or sleight of hand. HE glances at his daughter, before flinging the ball. She catches it easily even as she washes the counter. She says: Awfully quiet today isn't it? He nods, responding: It is. I'm suprised more haven't visited. |
| Drizzt02-19-04, 05:43 PM | A tall broadshouldered man walks in and sits at the counter. As you look at him you spot a large scar across his weatherbeaten face, he wears leather armor and a torn cloak,it is obvious he hasnt civilization for many weeks."strong ale please,ma'am"he speaks in a rough, suprisingly polite, tone. |
| Lord Tarran02-19-04, 06:56 PM | Rachel becomes a blur as she flys about the bar, getting coming out in a moment with a massive mug full of ale. The ale seems to have silver flecks in it, that those of the divine would recognize as what happens when a heal potion, a cure everything potion, and ale meet. Tottally beneficial and curing. She places it in front of the man, and says in her light voice: Its on the house, my lord. You need this more than we need money. Tarran marches over, flinging himself into the seat on the other side of the counter. Tell me, traveler, what brings you to Safe Haven? |
| Shadow1990502-19-04, 07:10 PM | "Oh...a refuge this close to the woods?" "I hope they dont come here looking for me." "Oh well... An elvin woman walks into the strange place. "hello....is anyone here?" I didnt give my characters description, but shes an elf. I hope this image isnt to provacative its nothing sexually explict, its actually very soft Yes, thats her hanging from the vines. Please tell me to remove it, if it is to provative. Thank you!http://lynx.uio.no/jon/gif/fiction/hal-elf.gif |
| eriwoj02-19-04, 08:11 PM | Slight tapping is heard making its way along the outside wall along with some muttering, until it reaches the door. It creaks open slowly and almost gracfully a woman who looks rather old due to her gray hair and white eyes steps inside. Her clothes are of fine cloth and made in an odd combination of the rarely seen fashion of the east and more common women's cloths, but it seems she wears some of her under clothes on the outside. All are gray and black with a dark orangish-red belt of cloth about the waste. Her cloak is pulled close about her with a large dark red scarf wrapped around her head. However, she wears a warm smile that shows that her apperence actually hides a much younger woman. In one hand, she holds a plain wooden staff that she is using to guide herself. Under her cloak a strap can be seen across her shoulder and body. Behind her a large white eagle glides gently on the breeze, chattering like a sparrow. She enters the tavern gracefully tripping and stumbling over furnature and grumbling the whole way to the bar, but her smile never fades. Finally finding her way to the bar, she plops herself on a stool, "I would like a glass of cider wine, please. Is this simply a tavern or is this an inn as well?" The conviction in her voice, and the expression on her face tells the tender that she didn't actually see the building on her way in. |
| Shadow1990502-19-04, 08:41 PM | She gestures to the woman, "Pardon me, but do you know where I can talk to someone about getting service for the night?" Her face saddens as she looks out the window to the woods. "I am in a bit of a rush." He arm then slips out of the long elvin like cloak revealing tangled veins around her arm. She quickly regresses, and pulls the cloak back over her arm. |
| Lord Tarran02-19-04, 09:24 PM | {Shadow, I don't think it has to go, but if a single mod even remarks on it, trash it.} Rachel goes about fetching cider wine for old but young woman, dropping a heavy tome down between the women. She continues to be a blur, as the wine is put down, and a glass of shadowly liquid is placed before her father. ITs gone faster than eyes can see, but all still see it. He says: That book is the guest book. Sign in, leave a gold piece, and close the book. Open the book to the gold piece, and you key will appear. Also, when you sign in, tell me whether or not you are being pursued by something. It would be nice to know if I'm expecting trouble, so I can get the wards up. But if you run from the law, I won't harbor you unless you can make one hell of an argument. |
| BarbedWings02-19-04, 09:58 PM | A tall man in a grey robe enters the Inn. He has short, matted white hair and holds only a bound book. His structure is obscurred by his robe, which covers all of his figure but hands and head. As the younger man enters, he smiles to the company and asks "Could I get a light Wine?" |
| Drizzt02-20-04, 12:12 AM | The man smiles at the yuong woman"thank-you ma'am, its been a tough day"he says through a mouth missing his right wisdom tooth. he takes a swig of the drink and then puts a gold piece in the book, signs the name Gruff klinkler, closes and opens the book and takes the key."i'll be retiring noe if you dont mind"finishing his drink Gruff leaves to find his room. |
| eriwoj02-20-04, 05:41 PM | The blind woman gropes around for the book. Upon finding it she opens it and asks the bar maid to write in the name Silxa. Meanwhile she tosses the cape back off of one shoulder and reaches into her bag. She places a coin that was made of a silver circle surrounded by a thicker ring of gold on the pages of the book. "I hope this will due. How much do I own for the whine?" She asks taking the first sip. |
| Shadow1990502-20-04, 07:29 PM | She looks to the others signing in at the bar. "heh..well she was helpfull." She then walks over the the girl, "Now were is that coin?" "Oh...I dont seem to have any of your currency with me, but will this do?" She holds out an odd coin with elvin language written on it. "I hope its okay.....It should last a couple nights...ne?" She then smiles to the girl signing her name in elvin writing. "Perhaps I can speak to someone about if this currency is okay?" |
| kulideb02-21-04, 07:26 AM | A soft breeze stired the leaves on the trees, the ladies feet touched the ground. She looked over to the Inn, a smile crossed her pale blue lips. She walked over and pulled open the door. She stood for a few minutes gazing around, the hood of her cloak slipped down and long tangled blue and siver hair spilled free. She glidded over to the bar, in a soft whimsical voice she asked for some sweet water to be bought over to a table. She left some silver coins on the bar, then made her way to an empty seat. The candle flickered as if a breeze played with the flame. A soft dreamy look came over her pale face, the light from the candle gave glimpses of the blue tattoos upon her brow and cheeks. She waited for her drink, wondering if any one would be brave enough to come over and say hello. |
| sculyblast02-21-04, 07:53 AM | A 7 foot tall, bolt but not old looking, fringe of beard, full equiped in chain shirt carrying a very large Axe on his back, and broadshouldered man, entered the Main room half running. he looked around the in and noticed that the room was mostly filled with elven, so he took place next to Drizzt, who seemed not to be a elf. "What drinks se human? Ealac likes Dwarven Beer! Dwarven beer tasts better then Human beer? se human hast Axe?" ((Ooc: I will post Ealac's grammar once I really started roleplaying )) |
| Lord Tarran02-21-04, 08:59 AM | Rachel flies about the bar again, dropping a strong dwarven beer down with out loosing a drop in front of the bearded man: The wine was free milady. That coin will do. And mi lord, you owe me a gold piece. Her father on the other hand walks over to the newly arrived female. Connor plops himself down. Heya' I'm Connor, owner of this establiishment. |
| Shadow1990502-21-04, 10:48 AM | She still stands there waiting as she watches the girl walk around her to others. "Yes, how very kind of you, can they see me...? She pulls at her cloak, "Yep im visible now." A bit of an angry expression appears on her face as she walks over to the man who has introduced himself to the woman whom has just arrived. "Excuse me, I asked the waitress..er.person for a little bit of some help, but everyone is ignoring me." "Am I visible...? "Well could I please get some service.....?" OOC: Just a little quote from my character of what happened before she came to the Inn. "You cannot hold me here, for I do not wish to stay here in the woods forever!" |
| kulideb02-22-04, 07:04 AM | The lady smiled at Conner, she held out a slim hand, (thats cold to the touch). "Well met, and I am Cassy." She glanced round the room. "It looks as if you have a fine business here, would you care to join me in a drink?" |
| Lord Tarran02-22-04, 01:11 PM | Connor shakes Cassy's hand, glancing over at his daughter become a blur. He looks at the woman with a curious look. Yes, you are visible. My daughter said the coin was okay. Just relax. {EDIT: I put Tarran instead of Connor. D'oh!} |
| Shadow1990502-22-04, 06:57 PM | "Ah... no, I wasent upset or anything.." "I just wanted to know if this was okay." "Now could perhaps I could get a room." "Im rather in a bit of a rush, so perhaps now I could get a key, or a room number?" She glancesa at the woman cloked, "Pardon me, Id really appreciate it if you didnt ignore me, its very rude." "I asked you a question about signing in, and you walked away." "Is it wrong to leave?....Where will I go?"" |
| BarbedWings02-22-04, 09:01 PM | As the man receives his wine, drops a gold peice on the edge of the table. He takes deep, slow sips as he observes his company. |
| Lord Tarran02-22-04, 09:56 PM | Connor stands, and steers the elf towards the massive tome Rachel had dropped earlier. He takes the coin, and places it in the book. He slams it shut, reopening it to the same page to find a key. He holds it in his hand, the number 4 clearly seen on it. He looks at the woman. Please sign your name and I will give you the key. |
| Shadow1990502-22-04, 10:56 PM | She looks to the man, "See, I have already signed here." She points her finger to the elvin text. "Now thank you, Im sure the lady over there is missing your company already, so you musent leave her be and help someone for two seconds." She then flips her hair, and walks down the hall sternly. " She then blushes relizing she doesnt know where to go, "Now where did you say that room was agan?" "They will come for me...I must hide, but where?......." |
| Pipers Youth02-24-04, 08:52 PM | Archmage Mcknily walked out of his room in the Inn holding a peice of parchment and an ink quill muttering something to himself. Mcknily gave a hearty greeting to everyone as he walked over to see the owner to the Inn.Then Mcknily took of his glasses to rub his eyes before speaking to the man rubbing his hands in the cloth"Yes we have quite a little problem on our hands here,I have done all the paperwork and it seems that if the Inn dosn't bring in anymore money....we will have to close the Inn." The Archmage stared down at the paper again"That's simply how I have to put it." OOC(If you want to see what my avatar looks like, roll your eyes a couple degree's and look at my avatar) Great job on this thread D.M!!! |
| Shadow1990502-24-04, 09:23 PM | Still standing in the hall awaiting an answer she grows impatient. "Ah!....finally maybe someone will listen to me." She walks over to the old man mumbeling to himself. She then thinks to herself, "Perhaps I should talk loud for the hag." "Do you know who runs this place?" They are refusing me service, and I am in a bit of a rush." She stills stands there waiting looking at him, "Hello?....." She then tugs his cloak rather roughly to get his attention. Getting closer to him she then screams, "Did you hear me?!.." OOC:The bored seems pretty dead lately... :uh-huh: |
| Lord Tarran02-24-04, 09:34 PM | OOC:Sorry, I thought more people would look at this. Aw well. Connor takes the (still dont know the name or class of shadows person) and points her towards the hall way. He then takes the paper from the Archmage, and proceeds to rip it into three pieces. He points around the room, at all the new arrivals, before lightning the paper aflame with a clap. The ashes fall to the ground, and from them, he plucks what appears to be 20 platinnm pieces. McKinley, what have I told you? Since we landed the building here, it would take a little while for business to pick up. Don't worry, old friend, thinks will come back to us. |
| Pipers Youth02-24-04, 10:32 PM | Archmage Mcknily unruffles his robes as Connar makes the parchment burst into flames"Just because I'm old dosn't mean I'm deaf!" Mcknily answered back to the women walking down the halls. Then Mcknily puts his glasses back on and looks back at Connar"Well we better hope thinks pick up for us,and that's the secound document youve burned today!" The archmage shakes his head"You think it's easy dealing with the finances, I was crammed up upstairs in that office writing that all day." Mcknily turns to the bar"Rachel could you fetch me some warm cider?quickly child make haist, make haist...." |
| Lord Tarran02-25-04, 08:38 PM | Rachel flies around the bar, coming back with a warm cider. She places it in front of the older man. Here you go, Uncle Mickey! Also, thanks for the haster spell, its been a charm. Connor walks over smiling, sitting down next to the elder mage. My friend, don't worry. And you wouldn't complain as much if you would spend a little time out of the office. We'll be okay, the earnings we got back Home will cover us for a few weeks, and if things don't pick up, I'll just have to go ask...mother...for some more funds. He shudders. For those paying attention, his eyes turn black for a moment, as he shakes it head at the thought of this mother. |
| Pipers Youth02-25-04, 08:56 PM | Archmage Mcknily takes the glass of warm cider and smiles at Rachel"I told you that would come in handy." Mcknily searches through his robes and pulls out a old flimsy book and then blows the dust off it"That reminds me Connar, your mother mailed this letter yesterday night and I never got to it." The old man pulls out a small silk envelope with a large seal on the front and hands it to Connar. OOC(It seems people don't have the time to post anymore, I mean if your not going to bother to post.....don't join.........) |
| Lord Tarran02-25-04, 09:09 PM | Connor winces, as he takes the letter, slowly pulling it near him. Upon it, as expected, was his mothers seal, a black colored dragon, wrapping around a glowing sword (Holy Avenger for paladins out there). Connor stares at the letter a few minutes, taking deep breaths, obviously bracing himself for the opening of the letter. Slowly, he begins to open it, soon finding that the envelope was empty of paper, but not of a message. The head of a shadow dragon raises out of the envelope, staring down at the innkeeper. He winces away. She says in a benevolent tone: Hello Connor, how are you? You look well. Its good to see my boy doing work, even if it is denying his destiny. Rachel comes from around the bar, smiling, waving to the dragon head. Hi Grandma Neva! The dragon smiles, and nods. Connor clears his throat, the dragon returning her gaze to him: You are a dragon born, Connor, one of a line of paladins and good dragons. Yet you deny both destinies for the job of an innkeeper, and a sorceror. I still love you, you are my son, but you can't deny your destiny forever. She disappears in a flash of smoke, Connor looking annoyed, as he grumbles to McKinly. Next time my mother sends a letter, burn it. Or better yet, send her a letter back telling her that though I continue following my draconic sorceries, I found my blade, and have begun my dragonride. Or send back a bomb, your choice. Must she always embarrase me in front of my patrons. If she's going to be a pain, she can drag her high ness pain all the way over to the Safe Haven. |
| BarbedWings02-25-04, 09:22 PM | The man observes the dragon in awe, and the letter's recipitant in humor, still sipping at his first glass of wine. "Now thats how to send a message!" |
| Pipers Youth02-25-04, 09:23 PM | Mcknily chuckles at Connar's statment,"Oh don't be so spiteful of your other Connar, I used to be delighted when my mother sent me letters." Mcknily pulls out his flimsy wooden staff and takes a deep sigh" But I will save you the humilation of someone reading this." With that Mcknily gives a light tap on the parchment and it sets fire. The old man looks under his glasses to Connar"At the least she could have sent me those delightful little apple treats." |
| Lord Tarran02-25-04, 09:26 PM | Connor smiles again, suddenly holding said treats, handing them to the mage. Sorry, I love them too. Save me a couple kay? Also, your mother wasn't a great wyrm shadow dragon, your father wasn't a paladin, and you didn't happen to be the child of the good shadow dragon. Your mother was a kindly old lady who sent us amazing cookies. |
| Pipers Youth02-25-04, 09:44 PM | Mcknily winces as he see's Connar holding out the food" I never know how she gets them to fit in there." Connar takes the baked good and nibbles it reaching for his glass of cider"Yes,I must see to that." After Mcknily finishes he pulls out another peice of parchment and reaches for his ink quill to write. He starts the letter. Dear Neva, Connar is well on his way to becoming a fine paladin, I am personally seeing to it. Your apple treats are so tantalizing, you must give me the recipe one day. Also your grandaughter is turning out to be a fine young lady, I am at the time teaching her dragon arts, she is a very talented student. Well I must keep this short because of all this terrible paperwork. I wish you well. Sincerely, Mcknily |
| Lord Tarran02-25-04, 10:00 PM | Connor grabs to note, a lights it with blue fire. As the flames die, the word Sent appears. Connor says: it should arrive shortly. Hopefully her next one won't ((Ta Ta everyone. bed for me. I'll post later tommorrow.)) |
| Pipers Youth02-25-04, 10:01 PM | Disreguard this post... |
| Shadow1990502-25-04, 10:19 PM | "Yah.....whatever....still def if you ask me."..."Doesnt that hag look familiar?" "Ah yes! I knew he did!" She then looks over to him, and teleports behind him quickly snatching his hat. "Yes! I knew it,same bald spot." She then waves the hat in front of his face teasing him. "Dont you have a spell or something like that to cover up that thing?" |
| Lord Tarran02-26-04, 05:03 PM | Connor hides a smile as he walks over to the bar, hugs his daughter, and leaps over the counter, facing the door. Seeing night coming, he snaps, The torches on the wall spring to life, the chandeliers above come about to light. He watches the doorm expecting the darkness to get more to come to his humble inn. He turns from the foor for a moment, checking underneath the counter. There he finds an orb, with his mother's crest upon it. It glows from within, making him smile, as he places his hand on it, saying something in an unrecognizable dialec of draconic. He stands again, playing with an orb of shadows as he waits. His says to all the current patrons: Lords and Ladies! Night approaches, and you will notice that I have brought about magical light. I will like to inform you now that we are open always, either me, my daughter, or Mcknily when he isn't napping or complaining will always be at the bar. As I sure Rachel has told you, you must sign the book and leave a gold piece to get a key to a room. This is a Safe Haven, that means that I won't have fighting inside. If you feel the great need to fight, take it outside, or downstairs into the basement, your choice. I would highly advise that you don't try anything against other patrons while within the walls. You will find that my spells are quite... effective and fairly unpleasant for the aggressor. I welcome one and all, and if you need hiding, all I ask for is a gold coin, good behaivor, and the reason for your hiding. Others, well this is an Inn. Finally, I am fairly loose on rules, but this is a biggy. No one, I repeat, no one, may ever touch that the door... He points to a steel, padlocked, glowing in magical defenses door. It looks like its been to hell and back. Offenders will die. And it will be the door that does the killing. ((I'll be starting an OOC thread for us soon, but otherwise, the rules are the same as most of ths Inns and Taverns on the boards. This is Safe Haven, which means as long as you are here, you are safe. For game purposes, Connor and Rachel are both Half Shadow Dragons, Rachel is an 5th-10th level sorc, Connor is a 25 level sorc, first level paladin. Both are LG. The inn is guarded by every defensive spell known, and a few unknown, that only activate by the contigency, hostility towards someone. The door... well just no one touch it . No I don't actually expect anyone to listen to me on that. Also, remember, this is an open thread, so tell your friends. The more the merrier.)) |
| Shadow1990502-26-04, 06:10 PM | "So are you going to come get your hat old hag..,or is time for a nap." "Ha ha!.." teleporting around the room she grabs a drink by the bar, "Why thank you." She then appears behind the man glaring at the rock. "Oh shiny, lets see whatcha got there!" Grabbing the orb she examins it, and then drops it sudenly from a sudden urge of energy. "Ouch!, hey whats that thing made of." "Oh well, I can always pawn it off...neh?" Grinning a vien appears to wrap around her arm as she picks it up..."Now thats better." Teleporting again in front of the old man she begins to tease again. "So old man... do you want your hat back?....." "heh...maybe I should speak louder." "Do you want your hat back?!" |
| eriwoj02-26-04, 08:23 PM | Listening intently with her head down to all that was going on, Silxa finally takes another swig from her cup and lifts herself off her stool. She quickly tucks her bag under one arm and taking her staff and cup proceeds across the room to where the owner of the inn is seated. Politely excusing herself, Silxa adresses the two men, "Sirs, I could not help over hearing your conversation. I think, I may be able to offer you some assistance. May I sit down?" |
| Pipers Youth02-26-04, 08:23 PM | Mcknily turns bright red and soon he yells "Bartimaeus". Suddenly a smoky figure appears right beside the Archmage crossing his arms the old djinni speaks" Yes Mcknily you called." Mcknilly's temper raises "I charge you Bartimaeus Sakhr al- Jinni to retrieve my hat and that cursed women!" ....As long as Bartimaeus was summoned he would be forced to serve Mcknily as long the man desired.... OOC(Originally you can't give a djinni the summoners name or he can you it against you.) |
| Lord Tarran02-26-04, 09:14 PM | A vile hiss is heard through the air, as (SHADOW WHAT IS THE NAME OF YOUR CHARACTER!) a snake, a deadly black cobra wraps around the woman's arm. Connor leaps over the counter, much disturbed, and with an quick apology to Silxa, and a nod of hello to Bart the Genie, he grabs the snake by the neck. Its head spins around, its teeth burrowing deep the innkeeper's hand. He simply glares at the snake, his eyes voids in his head. He growls at it in the same dialec of draconic heard earlier, as it takes its fangs out of his hand. Rachel appears next to her father with a wet rag, quickly attending to the wound upon his hand. The snake, wraps itself up Connor's arm, up his neck, back down his arm, and into his palm. It slowly turns back to the orb, the inner light now red, anger filled within it. Connor walks stiffly to the counter, places the orb back in its proper place, as the inn reamined silent. He walks around the counter now, holding his still bleeding hand, glaring down at the woman. His eyes are still black voids, now his aura glows with black light, a holy glow, and sheer sorcerous might. He takes a moment to collect himself before speaking, every word said deliberate, angry, and sincere. Miss, when I said earlier not to try anything against other patrons, that included theft from the owner. The orb you just tried to steal was a Sphere of Dragonborn. Though many exist for the common breeds of dragon, only one exists for the Shadow Halfbreeds. That was that sphere. Its keyed to me. Your lucky that I grabbed the Cobra before he struck, or you would be even beyond the reach of the gods. The poison of the cobra is keyed to instantly destroy anything that is not Half Shadow Dragon, and those that are, only the Keyed on will be able to stand after the bite. Ever see a sphere of annihilation? Same concept, just in a venomous liquid form. I will forgive this slight, but I will tell you flat out that stealing from Connor Shadowborn, or anyone of the staff here will not be tolerated. Steal from the other's at your own risk, I can't stop you there, but my gear, my equipment, my possession, are not fair game. Do I make myself clear, my lady? Rachel, once her father began his tyrade, seemed to slip between the shadows, trying to shelter her father with her magic. His aura began to calm, but his eyes were still midnight black. Once the aura was gone, and just the unnerving eyes remained, she returned to the bar, ready to serve again. |
| Shadow1990502-26-04, 10:25 PM | "heh...heh." "Ah....I wasent stealing it, I was just borrowing it." A smile appears on here face, "Just chill out Mr.Grouchy, no harm done." She then looks at the figure waiting at the hags orders. "Would you put that thing away old man." She then teleports in front of him and gently places the hat back on. "Ya no, you people are such grouches, so serious." "I ask for some service, and your to busy talking to shady cloak figure over there.." "So I get bored, and and decide to have so fun, and you people freak out." Teleporting back to the bar she appears in front of the young girl, "So what do you do for some fun around here anyway?" "You must do something besides taking orders from the hag and grouch...neh?":bounce: |
| BarbedWings02-26-04, 10:53 PM | The man gets up and ambles to teh book. Beside it he puts down fourteen gold peices and sign his name 'Shev Vier'. "Put me down for a fortnight. I need to meet somebody here..." |
| Drizzt02-27-04, 05:35 PM | hearing the commotion Gruff comes out to see what is jhappening."so what is..."breaking off in mid sentence as he spots the archmage."sir" speaking to mcknily"may i have an audience with you?" |
| Pipers Youth02-27-04, 10:42 PM | Mcknily nods and dismisses the djinni in an orderly fashion then he stands up" Ofcourse, ofcourse....please we will go to my study." Mcknily puts his hat on straight and starting walking upstairs to where upon there was a door with a small brass handle. Mcknily grasped hold of the handle and pushed the door in where the magician's study was. The room was tidy, if dusty, and contained among other things a locked cupboard that housed some of the mans treasures, two large book cases holding a large assortment of books written in hebru, and other languages. Also the secound shelf down held books of the thirty thousand and forty-six types of spirits. And the unclasified types. On the other side of the room held any shelves with bottled liquids of different colors and pickled specimens. Mcknily's desk was fairly large with paperwork and books scattered acoss the table in a obsurred fashion. Behind the desk was a single window looking out to a maple tree and a small garden with a bench. Mcknily gestured to the plaid chair in front of the desk and then Mcknily took his own seat behind the desk. OOC(Yah and I forgot this little ankle biter is in a cage near Mcknily's desk.)http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:olzqHHloyO0J:www.rpgamer.co m/contests/may03/earth.gif |
| BarbedWings02-28-04, 02:00 AM | As Shev sits down he takes a good look around him, then reveals a rough leather-bound book. He begins to sketch the oor, the lights, the entire room in every detail into his book. Yet he never turns the page for a fresh start. He stays on the same one, scratching away at the same peice of paper. "May I have another wine, please?" |
| Lord Tarran02-28-04, 08:55 AM | Rachel flies in, wine in hand, springing around the room giving refills to those in need of them, before coming to a stop next to Shev. She hands him the wine, and asks: Whatchadoin'? |
| BarbedWings02-28-04, 01:24 PM | "Writing, drawing. The works. I like to write down what I see and recall, maybe even write stories about it later." He takes a sip of his wine. "Thanks." |
| Shadow1990502-28-04, 03:34 PM | OCC: Tarran, once again you have ignored my character. Still standing there waiting for a responce she watches the girl run around the room greeting people. "What is she programmed or something?" "I ask the girl a question and she pretends not to notice me." "I am really getting sick of this." Viens begin to spread from her hands across the room covering the lights, and a silence spreads throughout the room. "Maybe this will get there attention." She clears her throat, "Thank you, now I really would appretiate it if I was treated with some hostitlity." "I have been ignored since I have walked in." "When I do get some attention I get snakes being sent at me, and fiends sent at me." The viens spread covering the room and the door. "No one is leaving until I get some service." |
| Lord Tarran02-28-04, 05:45 PM | OOC: I did not ignor your char, I pointed you in the direction of the hall where your room was. Rachel told you what to do as well. When you spoke to Rachel, I didn't see it. Sorry. But, now that you have posted an action, I must act to it. And I told you about the defenses. Connor shakes his head, seeing that the druid was going to be difficult, and seeing hostility in her eye. He snaps, and fire springs on to the walls. Its no wholesome, happy common fire. Its not even a particulary normal looking magic fire. Its black, but seems to burn with more intensity than hellfire. Its catches on the vines, burning them away, but not touching the woman. He looks at her, shakes his head, and snaps again. Three very angry dragon pop up on all sides of her. The room seems to have grown to accomadate the three ancient shadow dragons. Shackles made of diamond spring from the floor, slamming down on the womans ankles. THe dragons growl. Connor walks over, once again glowing in the aura that had been seen earlier, but double the intenisty at least. I told you flat out that I will not tolerate threats in my inn. I will not tolerate violence. The snake and the genie were consequences of actions you shouldn't have taken. You have already stolen from me, and now you put my patrons in danger. I normally throw those who do so to the Door, and let them fend for themselves. But I am new to this prime, and don't particulary feel like making enemies, or increasing the deaths caused by me. This is your final chance. I will command my dragons to leave, I release the shackles, I will dispel the Fire. You will have one more chance. After that, I would suggest you run. Very fast. This is Safe Haven, I believe you came here looking for shelter. Don't make the shelter throw you out. So, what do you say? Or should I actually activate the defenses? His eyes glow with an inner flame, even though they are as black as the void of space. His aura is tight to his body, but it obviously is taking a fair amount of control to keep it there. OOC: Remember Shadow, this is Connor speaking, not me. IC this is how he feels. Okay? |
| SpiritOfBlaze_X02-28-04, 06:59 PM | A tall gruff looking man walks in through the doors. He bears a short dull sword at his side and an axe on his back. He looks as if he's been dead for weeks. Food need rest and. He speaks common, but it is very gruff and hard to understand, judging by his size, and broken common he's obviously a barbarian of some sort. |
| Lord Tarran02-28-04, 07:09 PM | Rachel, after watching her father, and awaiting the druid's response, see's the man nearly falling. She explodes forwards, and catches the man like he was merely a falling paper. She sits him at a table, a returns with the same strong ale she gave the first arrvival. She awaits for him to drink. As he does, she places her own coin in the book, and gets a silver key. She hands it to the man saying; That ale will heal you. Hold this key, ask for you room, and you will be teleported into it. Rest, come out in the morning, and I will give you breakfast. Not march mister! |
| SpiritOfBlaze_X02-28-04, 07:31 PM | Have room I may a? The gruff looking barbarian glows in a strange light and suddenly vanishes into his room that Rachel had given him. As he lays in the bed he starts to become dizzy and his eyes go out of focus, the room is now but a blur, and just as the man is falling into darkness...he awakens with a bloodcurling scream. The room shifts into focus and he realizes that the arrow in his chest are no longer their, the blade caught in his leg is gone and the blood is once again flowing throughout his body. Soon coming are they, here be. He mutters to himself. Then, listning to the pounding of the rain on his window, he falls to a deep dreaming state. |
| Salacious Angel02-28-04, 08:45 PM | The doors swing open to reveal an ageing figure clad in the simple garb of a monk. His face is covered in brutal scars, and his green eyes bear the weight of the ages. Muttering quietly to himself, he limps toward the bar before sitting down. His voice comes in a rasp. "Water..." He retrieves a small leather pouch from his robes and shakes it. A single copper peiece falls out onto the counter. |
| Shadow1990502-28-04, 11:16 PM | OOC: Tarran may I bring your attention to this earlier post, that apparentely you missed. Maybe this will help. "heh...heh." "Ah....I wasent stealing it, I was just borrowing it." A smile appears on here face, "Just chill out Mr.Grouchy, no harm done." She then looks at the figure waiting at the hags orders. "Would you put that thing away old man." She then teleports in front of him and gently places the hat back on. "Ya no, you people are such grouches, so serious." "I ask for some service, and your to busy talking to shady cloak figure over there.." "So I get bored, and and decide to have so fun, and you people freak out." Teleporting back to the bar she appears in front of the young girl, "So what do you do for some fun around here anyway?" "You must do something besides taking orders from the hag and grouch...neh?" She rubs her hands as the viens regress."Ouch, you know your just a big grouch!" The dead viens vanish from the walls and off the lights.. "All I was doing was simply puting out a point." She looks to the hag, "you know I thought you would help me a little." "Do you even remember me?...." Looking through her pockets she retrieves a coin. "Looks familiar?....." |
| Lord Tarran02-28-04, 11:39 PM | Rachel flies in, giving the old man a goblet of water, glowing a little. Drink. It will heal you. Then sit, and call me over, ask me for whatever. Connor desummons the dragons, brings his aura in, and releases the shackles. He walks to behind the counter, looking fairly annoyed. He plays with a ball of raw shadow magic, watching the door. He says something in dragonic, but nothing truly dechipherable. OOC: I said I didn't read that post. Please read what I write in full. I tend to be quite detailed, to a fairly annoying degree. |
| BarbedWings02-29-04, 02:02 AM | Shev observes silently, writing all he sees. After most is done he leans back in his chair, closes his book on the same page he started on, although it appears nothing was written. |
| Lord Tarran02-29-04, 09:16 AM | Though Tarran still angrily sits, Rachel once again gravitates to Sev. Why'd you stop drawin'? You drew really well. Can I see some other stuff? She seems genuinely interested. |
| BarbedWings02-29-04, 10:52 AM | "My arent youan ambitouse one? Sure." Shev takes the book, reaches out and taps Rachel's forehead with it. In the one instant of contact, every sketch he had ever drawn, every story he had ever written (.all Shev deemed appropriate for her ) flashed through her mind |
| Drizzt02-29-04, 01:06 PM | Gruff follows the mage to his study and observes it in almost aan astonished gaze.recovering from the stupor rather quickly, he composes himself and says"sir mage, i wish to ask you a question, you see sir, i have been chasing a titan a his pet terrasque"gruff goes on in hopes of having the mage help"i did battle with them about three days ago but have lost their track and i was wondering sir, if you could locate them with your magic?" |
| eriwoj02-29-04, 09:41 PM | Again, Silxa approaches the tavern's owner, "I realize that you are busy and perhaps hadn't heard me, Conner. However, I find that business has picked up for you. I am still looking for employment; I may be blind but that doesn't stop me from cooking or cleaning. It would seem you have a mage as a perment resident. I once worked for one. I kept his books and potions in order and also prepared his meals. I have been wandering for quite some time, stopping in at many places looking for employment. I also am willing to take pupils in to teach them marketable skills, such as cooking and cleaning. What say you? Could you use an extra set of hands? Oh, and I do know a limited amount of magic, most of it childish, amature tricks, but it has come in handy for me in the past" |
| Lord Tarran02-29-04, 10:15 PM | My lady, I would be glad to have you aboard, but first... He places his hand on her forehead. An eye appears there. He says: That's a wizartd eye. You SHould be able to see. Also, I would be glad to have you on as a cook. ((Night everyone)) |
| Pipers Youth02-29-04, 10:36 PM | Mcknily sits in his plaid chair tinkering around with one of his early models that he has put off of his mind for some time and finally has some time for it. Then he looks under his glasses to the massive shouldered man"Yes, yes..ofcourse I can help you, but it isn't a very simple task you see. Mcknily then pulls one of his drawers open on his desk and pulls out a map. "First your going to have to give me the most recent location of the perons." OOC(Yes Connar it would be a very good idea to take in an extra pare of hands, perhaps in my office.) |
| Drizzt03-01-04, 12:34 AM | "i see"Gruff says as he turns towards the map"I do believe we fought ...here"pointing to a clearing a few days away from the position of the inn"yes thats the spot, i remeber it because of the large rock standing in the center." refering to the symbol of the rock on the map. |
| Salacious Angel03-01-04, 02:51 AM | The old man stares at the goblet for a moment before taking a small sip of the water. After a few more sips he pauses, directing his attention towards the man behind the counter. He watches him converse with the blind woman, waiting until after he has bestowed the wizard's eye upon her before he speaks. "I am looking for accomodation," He mutters in a hoarse voice. "I am afraid I cannot give you coin - that copper piece was the last of my wealth - but there are other things..." His sentence is interrupted as he is overcome by a terrible bout of coughing. After recovering somewhat, he sips again from his goblet. |
| eriwoj03-01-04, 09:32 AM | With her new found sight, Silxa springs into action and hands the man a coin like the one she had paid with earlier, "Here take mine. I have little need of money as long as I have something steady in the way of work." |
| Pipers Youth03-01-04, 06:59 PM | Mcknily once satisfied with the location gives a nod and takes out a scrying glass out of his pocket and wipes the small copper disk clean"Ah yes here it is, now let me see who to summon......yes now I have it, a fledgling imp." Mkcnily utters a invocation and then a blur vision comes into veiw on the disk,it is a small winged imp with a piggish like nose. It raises an eyebrow in mild suprise, "Ain't you dead?" it said "No." "Pity." "Stop spinning," Mcknily snarled." I have a task for you." Then the imp winced, Hold on a sec," it came to a screeching hault suddenly. "Who's that with you?" Then Mcknily shouted,"That's none of your concern demon!" .....will be continued...... |
| Shadow1990503-01-04, 08:00 PM | Still holding the coin she grumbles, "I have been ignored once again." Walking up the stairs she approaches Mcknilys room. A smile appears on her face as she runs over to the imp, "Oh what a cute little thing!" She then gestures to Mckinily, "Hey, I was talking to you." |
| Pipers Youth03-01-04, 08:44 PM | Mcknily looks up from the disk to find a women standing at the door,I am very sorry, but I'm going to ask you to leave because you see that I'm in the middle of a summoning and I am speaking with a guest." Ooc(Mcknily has one of those "Hey how did you get up here exprecians.") OOC:Connar this is getting a bit out of hand, first the woman complains and complains how she isn't getting service, and then she steals your orb, wrapps her vines around the place, and then barges into my office upstairs. |
| Lord Tarran03-01-04, 08:46 PM | Connor walks over from the counter, a look of concern on his face, over to the elderly, coughing man. He taps his finger on the rim of the goblet, whispering a string of words in draconic. He looks a the man. That should fix your cough. No disease in the multiverse can resist that charm. Also, how does a job sound to you? Just of course til you get back on your feet in money. Simple things. What are you good at? |
| Lord Tarran03-01-04, 08:49 PM | ((I agree, this is getting ridiculous. Shadow, please behave, or give one hell of a good reason for making your character act this way. I'm DM, as Dai'morra was at the fortress, Piper has become my second in command. How things are going, it looks like Erwoj and possibly SA will follow. I don't want to ask you to leave, but you are making it kinda hard to RP correctly. By the way, after I post this, I'm starting the OOC thread.)) |
| Shadow1990503-01-04, 09:58 PM | OOC: First of all PipersYouth/Jmcar, id really appretiate if you wouldnt abondone your other threads. Also you came in here taking control, and saying, "Oh I run this place too." Would it be appropriate if I came in the thread, and started to take over?" Anyway I have done nothing wrong by coming in and saying, "Oh what a cute little thing.." Is it my fault you cant control your own thread Tarran, you set no boundries or status which leads to an unstable thread. Id appretiate it if you wouldnt be such a control freak and chill out. As said before it is inapropriate to control other characters, which you seem to love doing. Thanks!:D "Bleh.......another grouch." Teleporting infront of Connar she smiles, "See, now you cant ignore me...." "Now I would like to know how long that coin will last, and this time try not to have another fit. " |
| Lord Tarran03-01-04, 10:14 PM | OOC: Pipers actions have absoultely nothing to do with yours. For all you know, Piper and I could of had this planned. But out. He did not take over the thread. He came in as my partner, in many cases, under me. YOU on the other hand, since you arrived, have had a total disregard for the rules I did set, have been badgering me and Piper's Youth, have not read a post I wrote, and have been a total thorn in my side. This is your very last chance, Shadow. I had thought your behaivor in the fortress was immature, and this shows through as well. I would suggest you either turn your character around, and start being a player, and not a problem, or leave. Tarran looks at her coldly, snatching the coin from her, crushing it in his bare hand. He then politely asks her to leave him be. |
| Drizzt03-01-04, 10:28 PM | Gruff is taken aback as the imp appears"demonic spirits of the abyse(sp?) why choose an imp for a task?"Gruff trying to whisper as to not insult the imp"they are tricky ad will try to defeat you at every turn"looking aroud he spys the woman entering"what the...how the?...do you not ward your room from strangers?" |
| Pipers Youth03-03-04, 04:59 PM | As the woman teleported away Mcknily turned back to looks at the imp in the scrying glass, then looks at the man under his glasses once more," Yes alot of people think that but as long as the demon is bound to you and does not know your name, he is a merely just a slave." As Mcknily said this the imp spun aroung in the glass shouting,"I'll have you know that I once killed a djinni in a mere secound, the bloke hadnt had a chance to turn around before I nailed him in the back!" Mcknily turned raising a hand facing the imp in the disk"Shut up demon, I did not give you permission to speak!" The imp cowered back into the corner of the glass" I am very sorry O wise master, It won't happen again." Ooc(The imp gave a grin doing this,he hated magicians.) Mcknily turned back around slowing putting his hand down," Now all I need is the name of these person's." OOC:I'll pretend I didn't hear the" do you not ward your your room fro strangers." remark |
| Salacious Angel03-05-04, 05:21 AM | The old man smiles wanly. "I am afraid that even this potent elixir would do little to ease my suffering, for it is no mortal ail I suffer, and even the gods cannot cure that which I bear... But do not worry over me, for I lave lasted this past hundred years and will live far longer still." He takes another sip from the goblet. "On the matter of employment, I would have offered my services as a healer, but it would seem you are yourself more capable than I could ever prove to be. No, I am a cook. I have served in the palace of the Grand Sultan in the flames of the City of Brass, and laid food for lords and ladies of Celestia. And yet... few know of me. I keep to myself, and desire nothing in return for my services other than a roof above me and a floor beneath." |
| Lord Tarran03-05-04, 05:25 PM | Connor nods as he hears the old mans words. He says: Glad to know you would join me. You may stay as long as you like, and when you ever decide to leave, I will make sure that you leave with enough to support yourself through death. I would enjoy to have another cook on board. And I am no healer, mind you, but I have mastery of herbs, and understand how to make them into potions more effective than anything magical. It also helps flavor foods. I would love to teach you, if you want to learn. By the way, if you are to work here, I would have a name from you. |
| Salacious Angel03-05-04, 05:41 PM | "Oh... yes." The old man looks pensive for a moment, as though trying to remember something. "My name is Th'aldryn of the Gilded Wyrm. You may call me Lloc'yth; it is what the Dragonborn elves once called me in past ages... in the time when I served as a Paladin. But that time is now long past. No, I am now merely a simple cook." |
| Lord Tarran03-05-04, 08:34 PM | Connors eyes grow wide, as he hears the name of the man, and his origins: You too are Dragonborn? Whats your lineage? How long ago is your ancestry? You are a paladin? What order? I haven't met one of my kind in years. |
| BarbedWings03-05-04, 08:52 PM | Shev suddenly shudders hard. He loweres his head in pain and almost vomits on the table iun front of him. He tries to look up, but a white searing flash slashes his vision, a mask, not illusionary nor totally existant appears on his face. A white mask showing pain and brutality, with no openings for breath nor sight. AS quickly as it flashed it disappeared. Shev looks up, sickened to a point. "He's here." The man stumbles out of his cahir, then outside to be immediately met by another man. "Ishantu Nyra, my brother." "Ishantu Nyra, brother." Shev greets his dying friend, catching his unconciouse body in already bloody hands. "I need a healer!" |
| Lord Tarran03-05-04, 09:24 PM | Connor feels a ping go off in the back of his head, and excuses himself from his newest employee. With a nod to Rachel, he and her explode up the stairs, both under the affects of a haste spell. They come upon the bleeding man and nodd again, as if in mental agreement. His hands begin to glow in black flame, hers in blue. They lay their hands upon the man, healing energy pouring from them. She continues to heal with her divine right, while he takes out a bottle of a red liquid, and a slave made of somesort of mold. He takes out a vial, and mixes the two, saying something in draconic as he does so. He brings it to the mans lips, pouring it down. The potion's healing properties flood the man. Connor takes a second batch of the same substance, and hands it to Shev, ordering him to drink. He says: Nothing in existence could die after being given that potion. It is the most powerful healing form in the multiverse. Gods could not even begin to compete with the substance. And Rachel's and mine liberal Lay On Hands should help. You look beat, sit. |
| BarbedWings03-06-04, 03:31 PM | The man, with Shev's help, makes his way to the nearest table, sits down, and takes slow, deep, heavy nreaths. "Shev, I bring grave news." "What is it?" Shev and the man make eye contact for several silent seconds. Then Shev nods, and says; "I understand. And what about my wife? My daughter?" The man's only response was a slow, shake of the head. He thought of an apology but then realized wrods would only worsen Shev's dying mood. "And... and my brother?" "Yuri fled, they have not found, but neither have we." Shev nods slowly, his mind wheeling with the news. "Im glad your safe." |
| Salacious Angel03-06-04, 10:58 PM | Pulling himself from his seated position, Lloc'yth hurries after his employers at a speed unheard of for a man his age. Arriving beside Connor he regards the newcomer with curiosity. After a moment watching the two men recovering, he turns to Connor. "It seems like you and your daughter have the situation in hand." Suddenly his face saddens. "Of my lineage, I am a descendant of Tzarbiel, a mighty golden dragon from millenia past. But I take no pride in my heritage. Tzarbiel fell to the dark powers some three-thousand years ago, dissolving the order of the Gilded Wyrm and forever shaming his descendents. I have no order, and for sixty years I have sought to overcome the dishonour brought upon my family by Tzarbiel's treachery." Face brightening, he ads: "I suppose the patrons had better have something to eat. Is there anything you had in mind, or shall I simply work my magic?" |

| Drizzt03-08-04, 10:30 PM | gruff nods his head in reply"i see" turning to the imp gruff says"there is no honour in striking from behind and where theres no honour, there is only emptiness" |
| Lord Tarran03-10-04, 05:32 PM | Connor turns to the older man, looking sad, recognizing the dragons name. He smiles for a moment, before whispering to the man in a draconic tongue only dragonborn can understand: Tzarbiel, Lloc'yth, was my mother's great great grand father. Though he turned to evil, his one bastard child, my great great grandmother, was a good shadow dragon. His corruption is the reason I exist. My mother is the shadow wyrm Nevara, your great great great aunt. You and I are family good sir. He switches to Common: Anything you would like to make, good sir, the kitchen will produce all you need. Right now, I need to speak with my daughter and with the Archmage. He beckons to both, his daughtering coming quickly, as he waits for Mcknily. |
| Salacious Angel03-11-04, 05:29 AM | Lloc'yth nods towards Connor before stepping quickly behind the counter, smiling at the prospect of having discovered one of his own kin. He moves about the kitchen with an air of purpose, gathering the required utensils and placing them on the counter, all the while singing an ancient song in the Draconic tongue. The blessing Connor bestowed upon his goblet seems to have lent him a vibrance unseen in one his age. Moments later his instruments are assembled, and he calls out over the din, "Is there anyone who would request a dish? There are few meals I cannot concoct with a spell and a ladle." |
| eriwoj03-11-04, 01:59 PM | While the Innkeep and his daughter are busy elsewhere, Silxa steps in to take over as waitress and bar tender for the time. The magic eye that was bestowed on her earlier is beginning to fade but she is now familiar with the layout of the entire building and doesn't seem to miss a beat in her work. As the old man readies himself in the kitchen, Silxa finishes wiping some cleaned mugs and placing them on a tray carries them to the proper cupboard for storage. She even takes the damp dish cloth and wipes the entire bar with it before grabbing for a broom to sweep the dirt that was tracked in back out the door. When the sweeping is finished, she makes a round through the common room asking if anyone needs a refill on their drink and taking orders of food for Lloc'yth. The whole while a warm cheerful grin graces her lips and making the entire room a bit more bright and welcoming. |
| DarkWizard Ogre03-11-04, 04:15 PM | A young halfling walks in, a harp on his back and a short sword drawn. " Hello, I need a room. Now!" He quickly glances over his shoulder nervously. " Like I said, how do I get a room? " He keeps glancing over his shoulder, as though somone were out to get him. |
| Lord Tarran03-11-04, 05:33 PM | Rachel excuses herself from her father, and proceeds downstairs. She shows the bard how to sign in (writing name, and placing the coin for the key) and says: Write your name, and do as a I told you. I'm Rachel, one of the owners, and I would like to ask, because you are obviously running, what you are running from. |
| DarkWizard Ogre03-11-04, 06:57 PM | "My brother is angry at me for not giving him the money he requested. 2,000 gold pieces! How am I supposed to come up with that kind of money?" He looks over his shoulder nervously. "I need a room for two nights please. And I would be happy to play for your patrons." |
| Lord Tarran03-11-04, 07:01 PM | That would be fair payment for two nights, to play for our patrons. Wait until dinner is served, and you may play. You are welcome here as long as you need, but I wish to know your name. She awaits his response. |
| Pipers Youth03-11-04, 07:16 PM | Mcknily rubs his forehead in frustration,"Yes I respect your customs but I afraid were not living in those times anymore, yes I know it is a pity." Mcknily then takes his hand of his forehead and mummbles under his breath" Oh bother, where's my dinner? I asked that girl ages ago to make me some broth and hot tea." OOC:Sorry folks, didn't mean to be gone for that long. |
| DarkWizard Ogre03-11-04, 07:17 PM | "My name is Thomas Brandlake. I am a wandering bard. Recently my brother has been involved with a gang of highwaymen and has been threatening me for money, and my recently ummmmmmmm...... aquired magical items. My refusal has resulted on a recent raid of my house, which has driven me here." He flashes a shining amulet and ring. |
| Lord Tarran03-11-04, 07:27 PM | Rachel says simply: OOOOOOOOO. Pretty. She snaps to her senses: I'm sorry to here about the raid. Stay here as long as you like, my dad shouldn't mind. Connor goes down stairs tell Mcknily to worry about it later. |
| BarbedWings03-11-04, 09:07 PM | Shev and his friend talk to one another, sometimes discussing matters incredibly obscure languages, sometimes in familiar languages, and quite often they do not speak aloud at all. Just occasionally nodding their heads to one another, always making eye contact. "So I see neither of us can go back." Seth says, motioning for his third wine. "It looks as if only three escapees from Ishantu managed to survive, where will you go Gebral?" Gebral looks at him blankly, then gives a simple response. "There is no where left to go." "You are not the only one in such a paradox, my friend. |
| Drizzt03-11-04, 10:47 PM | "hmm...i see"Gruff replies in a suspicious tone" sorry if i dissapoint you by holding to "false ideals" "saying the last part very sarcastically." but back to buisness, his name is makakor and he calls the terrasque gina" |
| Salacious Angel03-12-04, 02:42 AM | The old man steps out from behind the counter and approaches Thomas Brandlake . Smiling benevolently he says, "There is nothing to fear while you are within these walls, so there is no need to keep your weapon drawn." Glancing at the halfling's harp, he adds, "You are a bard? Then you are welcome in my company. Pray, would you like something to eat?" |
| Lord Tarran03-13-04, 08:11 PM | Connor, who could not help but over hear the conversation between Shev and his friend, says: It sound like you are on the run, you two, and that a great force hunts one more of your number. Contact her? I assume, and I will bring her here. You may make your last stand here, if need be, otherwise, you can help me, or start over, or whatever. My doors will always be open. Rachel on hearing that Lloc, she had already fashioned a nickname for him, was cooking, she immediately, as Silxa, ran to the many guests under her exorbiant haste spell, to each and every one. ((OK, everyone post your orders.)) |
| BoojumSnark03-15-04, 03:24 PM | There's a knock at the door as it begins to open. A rather unassuming young man walks through, adjusting the strap on his pack. He's slightly on the tall side, and more than slightly wide, but his most notable feature is his pallid skin and tired eyes. Despite his obvious exhaustion he has a friendly smile above the whiskers on his chin. He opens his mouth with a slightly embarrassed look: "Beggin' yer pardon, good patrons, might you have an ex-ter-a chamber for rent? There's a number of gold coins inside of my purse and they practically beg to be spent. I've seen the sun rise every day of the week! By my count that is seven whole times, and I fear if I don't get a decent day's sleep, there's no chance of me halting these rhymes!" He glances around self-consciously then stares at his feet. Noticing the small splothces of blood on the floor, he looks concerned. He starts to speak again but desides against it. Instead he just looks around to be sure everyone's okay. |
| Lord Tarran03-15-04, 09:41 PM | Sensing the entrance of a hurt creature, Connor excuses himself from Shev, and bolts to the door, holding the famous mug of healing ale. Handing it to the rhyming one, he says: Drink. That blood is yours. Take this key, and come out in the morning, and we shall talk. The key appears, and is handed to the man. |
| BoojumSnark03-18-04, 11:19 AM | Slightly taken aback, the stranger looks dow at his chest where a bloodstain has been steadily spreading. Nodding graciously the he takes the mug from the kindly man and raises it in toast to the occupants of the room before bringing it to his lips. He then pauses a moment to collect himself. Steeling himself for the effort he manages to talk in a normal fashion. Thank you, good sir. I... I hadn't even realized my condition had worsened this far. My coins are in my right pocket. Please take what you need. May you kindly show me to my room? The odd man's posture straightens slightly as the restorative herbal brew begins its work. His wide shoulders however remain slumped, but from exhaustion or emotion is anyone's guess. ((OOC: Sorry, I meant to get back sooner.)) |
| Lord Tarran03-18-04, 11:28 AM | ((Don't worry about it. Attendance has been kinda funky lately.)) Connor holds out the key, fetching the coin as he does. He says: Your patronage is much welcomed. Hold the key, and say 'Room' and you will be teleported to it. Once you have rested, come out, and we will talk. I have a feeling you will need to unload in a small while. |
| BoojumSnark03-18-04, 11:37 AM | The stranger smiles, and manages to say: Thank you, again friend. I am much indebted to you. Finally taking the key, he mumbles: Room? and is spirited away to his resting place. |
| Lord Tarran03-18-04, 11:42 AM | ((Quick note to everyone, its approaching midnight in the inn now. Day will arrive, well, whenever I decide it should now be daylight.)) |
| ískallin03-18-04, 03:11 PM | In walks a halfling who wears luxury clothing. He carries by his left hip a beautiful short sword, it is laid with emeralds. The halfling is almost hauntingly beautiful, there is just something about him that makes wery easy to like he has blue eyes and red curly hair which is hidden under an enormus hat with a really big feather on. The other one is a diffrent story. Standing over 6 feet tall this half orcprobably 4 feet over his shoulders and incredibly muscled even for one of his kin. On his back he carries a huge greataxe made of adamantine. He has a scarred face and his breastplate shows signs of untold battles. You can see the simple but good look on his face... The halfling walks to the bar and climbs on top of the chair, the half orc does the same thing. The halfling greets the barmaid " Hello young lass, i'll have a pint of the most expensive wine you can give me and a keg of goatmilk for my partner, i'll also have steak with salad, souse, rice and onions" |
| Lord Tarran03-18-04, 04:46 PM | Calling the order back to Lloc, Rachel goes about getting the drinks. As she finishs, and brings them to the men, she says: Welcome to the Safe Haven. I'm Rachel, thats Silxa over there. She points, sending telepathecially to her father that the wizard eye needed to be refreshed., and Lloc is back in the kitchen. My father, Connor, is the owner of this establishment with Mcknily, though both are busy right now. Who are you two? |
| ískallin03-19-04, 10:56 AM | "My name is Brushgatherer, a traveling bard of Sune and this here is my close friend and companion, Holg a mighty warrior of the wild". The halfling replies. |
| Lord Tarran03-19-04, 10:24 PM | Rachel smiles, and says simply, Welcome. If you be bard, do you think you can play us a tune? |
| Salacious Angel03-20-04, 01:28 AM | Having almost finished in the kitchen, Lloc approaches Connor. His face bears an expression of foreboding as he whispers in the younger man's ear. "When you have the time there is a matter that I must warn you of. It concerns Lord Tzarbiel and the blood curse that befell his descendants..." He then excuses himself, and seats himself on a chair in a corner of the room, quietly observing the other patrons. |
| BarbedWings03-20-04, 02:06 AM | Shev finishes a round of drinks with his friend. "i think it would be best if we had both retired." Shev says to his companion. Then to Conner; "I would like to buy a fortnight for him also." Shev gets up, places fourteen more gold peices next to the book, and requests a room. |
| ískallin03-20-04, 07:55 AM | Oh yes indeed.. Brush picks up a lapharp from his backpac and starts playing a cheerful tune... Holg claps his huge hands and ses: Ohh yes Brush plays soooo weelll!! |
| Lord Tarran03-20-04, 08:29 AM | Connor nods to Lloc, but in the mean time, walks over to the book, places one of the coins in the book, pockets the rest, and hands back the book made key to Shev. He says This will be good for the next two weeks, for the two of you, I have a feeling you will be here a while regrouping. He then walks to Lloc, sits and asks, Whats wrong? I haven't felt the blood curse, because my great great grandmother was a product of his corruption. Being born as a good shadow dragon, I think, made the gods have pity, and they removed the curse. What is befelling the others of Tzarbiel. |
| Salacious Angel03-20-04, 07:09 PM | Lloc frowns. "Like you, I no longer bear the blood curse of Tzarbiel. Nigh a century of repentance for the sins of my brethren has ensured that I, and those who should follow me, are free of it. "However, it is not that simple. Tzarbiel yet lives, and he sends his minions to reclaim his lost descendants, corrupting them if necessary. I have been running from him for thirty-two years - and I run still - but I fear my time is running out. Soon I will not have the strength to carry on; and Bahamut help me if Tzarbiel should find me..." He sighs. "But you... you and your daughter still have a chance. Forewarned, you may have the resources to keep him at bay, and if need be there are things I can do to ensure that the dark legacy of Tzarbiel never befalls you or your offspring." Shaking his head, he mutters a last barely audible phrase. "No. Your daughter need not witness the evils I have seen." |
| Lord Tarran03-20-04, 10:16 PM | Connor smiles wryly, glancing at his daughter listening to the newly arrived bard's music. She bobs her head to the music, humming to his strumming. He reaches to his side, and draws a dagger, that swiftly turns into a sword, a great holy looking, dragon motif longsword, hidden from all eyes but Lloc and his. He says, This sword is my dragonblade, my paladin's sword, my "Holy Avenger". When I found it, about two years ago, the guardian of the blade told me that it would free my "now unknown brothers," but it would not be my hand to do it. I have discovered my unknown brothers, you and your kin, but I'm afraid I've also discovered the one who will slay Tzarbiel. As long as you remain here, Tzarbiel will never be able to touch you, nor I, nor any other descendant of his. His minions would die as they entered the door. But this can not go on forever, and nor can I hope to have the entirety of your clan to move here. He points as his daughter with the sword, whispering in draconic as the blade disappears. She will be the one to end this, though her age belies such. You know, she only turned 14 last summer. When she was 5 she watched her mother die at the hands of demons we had angered. At 6 she watched me nearly die at the hands of a Balor, who had come to slay me. At 8, I left her with her grandmother, my mother Neva, the shadow dragon, and she found out a year later, without me ever coming to visit, that I had died. A friend of mine ressurect me, but not before the news had reached her. I returned, and tried to heal some of the emotional trauma, but I don't know how successful I've been, because at 10, I left her to find my sword. Of course, by that point, we had the inn, and she was safe, but she worried. I feel so awful that I had hurt so, as her own father. Now to realize, suddenly, that I will have to let her go, hurts. Her training ends in five years, nothing for a dragon, nor a dragonborn. In that time, she will grow, and be able to fight the beast. But in the mean time, we will just have to hope that Tzarbiel doesn't come. What do you think? |
| Salacious Angel03-21-04, 12:35 AM | Lloc claps a hand on Connor's shoulder reassuringly. "Do not fear, my friend, for when the time comes your daughter will be ready." Lloc leans in close, again whispering. "When I first spied your daughter I immediately noticed a spark. At first I knew not what it meant, but having heard your tale I now wonder why I did not see before: she bears the mark of Ylgarum, mighty warrior in the Gracious Lord Bahamut's armies. She is his chosen, destined to lead the holy draconic armies against our forefather's own dark legions. Many have searched for the one blessed by Ylgarum, but I scarcely believed it would be me who should find her." He shakes his head worriedly. "This changes everything. Once he knows the whereabouts of your daughter, Tzarbiel will forgo all other endeavours, focusing his every effort on removing the threat your daughter poses. I know not how much time we have left..." Smiling again, he ads, "But I do know this. So long as you and your child persevere, there is hope for the lost children of Tzarbiel. Let us hope it lasts." |
| Lord Tarran03-21-04, 09:53 AM | Connor looks grim at the news, but doesn't look worried. He glances at the blasted iron door. He leans closer to Lloc and says, You see that door? That is the key to our survival. I will explain, but not here. When more of our guests nod off, I tell you upstairs. |
| eriwoj03-22-04, 08:28 PM | "Sorry all. It took longer than I thought to mix these up," Silxa says as she begins to wirl her way around the room bringing another round of drinks to all whose were going empty. By now the magic eye had completely faded. ((OOC: I was on spring break and didn't have net access, sorry.)) |
| MaliciousAngel03-24-04, 09:29 PM | A man in a grey cloak with a shaded face walks in with a worn brown leather duffel on his shoulder and takes a seat at a table in the corner. He sniffs the air and looks in various directions. Closing his eyes and rubbing his temples he takes in all he can of his environment. There was magick most potente in the air. He could taste it...He smiled a bit and felt relieved, and his demeanor slacked slightly. Little could be discerned about the man, he spoke very little and took out a long thin pipe and began to smoke. It was not that he seemed too unsociable but it was very easy to overlook him. He waved down the barmaid to find himself a drink... |
| Lord Tarran03-25-04, 05:51 PM | A shock ran through both Connor and Rachel. Though she came over to him, Connor hurried over to the blasted door he had told all to avoid. He knocks on it three times, as he places his ear to it. He backs away from the door with a nod, as the magic in the air becomes heavy, and all magic on the patrons is dispelled. Glacing at the newcomer, Connor looks grim. Before him, he feels the hostility towards some being within his inn, and he sees the creature before him. A god, he realizes, and apparently a powerful one, reaching near the ranks of the mid gods. Not understanding what a god would want with his patrons, he raises the true defenses. Though no one feels them, defensive magic greater than the gods is raised. The magic left the air, though all looking for it would find it blindingly so through out. Connor nods to his daughter, who looks slightly relieved. ((Welcome aboard Malicious Angel. This should be interesting.)) |
| MaliciousAngel03-25-04, 06:10 PM | Lazily looking about, the grey man ponders exactly what it takes to get a drink around here... "Excuse me..." He waves at a bar maid. The voice in of itself is cool and intoxicating. Not to the point of supreme control, but enough that some of the tension is relieved. |
| eriwoj03-25-04, 06:29 PM | Silxa wondered at the sudden shift in the air and static of the room almost like a boom, but when the newcomer spoke in his rich delicious voice, she immediatly poured out a large glass of steaming hot cup of a strong double brewed tea. She quickly made her way over to his table and offered him the cup. He took it from her as she seated herself in the chair next to him. "My, it has been so long since I last observed you. May I inquire as to your where abouts and doings?" she wryly commented. |
| MaliciousAngel03-25-04, 06:33 PM | He smiles cooly... "I suppose it has...And as it is it might have been longer. I suppose my where abouts would be right here, and my doings are more of the same that these weary hands have performed for a long, long time...Skullduggery and secrets my dear...Till we are all in the dust." He studies her blind eyes and the rest of her. His formula runs as he develops a working knowledge of every aspect of Silxa... "You are very good with voices Silxa...I find that admirable. Tell me of yourself...How did you end up here? What the devil is this sort of place?" |
| eriwoj03-25-04, 06:49 PM | Silxa lowers her voice, " Der owner es un drag¨®n de some tipo. Uno Palin Je crois he said. Er ist §ãhhåsÞ§Ñiã§êk.Ö§Õ§ê/Ú§Û. He will destroy se §Ö/ãhÝ§Ú §à<ß - §ß§Ö cuidadoso. But come that is insignificant. I have a permanent home and steady work now. I no longer need to wander and I can be more useful this way. ((Translation: The owner is some sort of dragon. A palin as I believe he said. He is powerful and will destroy any one who enters with evil intent.)) |
| MaliciousAngel03-25-04, 06:59 PM | The grey man scratched his chin... "Certainly interesting pieces of news. I do believe I know a few people that would love to hear about such matters...Jeder erhält ihre im Ende. Ihn? Sein Ende kann früher dann er erkennt sein. Grab messen Zeit voraus.. You are only as usefull here as in any other Inn. It is the choices that you have made that will determine the course of the rest of your life. Grave times indeed...Do you hear me Silxa? I come with most troubling news...I believe that you are in grave danger. I believe you have a gem in your posession. Something very old. It is an Angel cradling a jewel...I do believe that some men may come soon to take it from you. Your very life is in danger...And they have allies. The walls of this Inn may not protect you..." His tone becomes grave and foreboding as his whole being leans forward. "Etwas böse kommt auf diese Weise. " |
| eriwoj03-25-04, 07:11 PM | "Well, old friend, as I always say Nous tout doit mourir de quelque chose. Danke for the warning but I am sure that I can take care of myself. Je ne courrai jamais de l'ennui. Anyone who knows me knows that about me. I realize as ich habe gesagt vor that le propriétaire peut amener sa propre chute but I will macht mein bestes zu hold my own," Silxa speaks calmly, "I will be back shortly, so that we may continue this conversation. I have to attend to a few duties in the back. What can I bring for you from the kitchen? Bread and cheese sound alright?" ((Translation: As I always say we must all die someday. Thanks for the warning but I am sure that I can take care of myself. I am an adult who runs not for fear. Anyone who knows me knows that. I realize as I said before the the owner may indeed be dangerous but I do not feel he will harm me. I can hold my own very well.)) |
| MaliciousAngel03-25-04, 08:26 PM | He reaches out in a flash and grabs her by the wrist... "You speak as though you know. I assure you that you have no clue the danger that you are presented with. While I have full faith in you, I have dealt with these individuals before. They are ruthless to a height above all others...How much do you know of this jewel that is in your care? Is it truely worth dying for?" His actions draw a bit of attention to him even if his words are not heard. He lets her go and leans back in his chair to resume the melodic puffing of his pipe. |
| Lord Tarran03-25-04, 08:50 PM | ((Speak English, please. There are rules about doing what you just did.)) Connor suddenly realizes who the mans target was, as he walks over to him and Silxa. He says: Silxa, dear, Lloc needs help back in the kitchen. Could you go help him please? I need to speak with our newest guest. Assuming that she leaves for a moment at least, Connor siwings himself into the chair facing the man. He says: Hello, godling. My name is Connor Shadowborn, son of Nera, paladin of the order of the Shadowed. I am also a humble innkeeper. This inn, is Safe Haven. I feel that you have evil intentions towards one in my care. I suggest you find some way to resove the problem without violence, or harm to her, yes her, I know what you are planning. If there is something you need from her, you can get it without killing her. I will not allow you to harm her while she is in my care. Connor stalks away, without telling Silxa anything. |
| BarbedWings03-25-04, 10:31 PM | ((Well theres German in it... and is that uh... French too? )) Shev finds his room, and dricets his companion to his. Then Shev layts down for a sleep he should have had many nights ago. Of course, it is the sleep his wife, daughter, and most of his friends deserved many nights ago; and would never have. |
| Salacious Angel03-26-04, 03:33 AM | Sensing the intensity in the air as a result of the newcomer's presence, Lloc's hand strays to his side, unconsciously seeking some nonexistent weapon that should hang at his waist. Something is not right about him, but he is uncertain of what it is... Suddenly a searing pain courses through his aged form, causing him to double over. Nightmarish images cavort madly across his vision and he flails his arms madly in an attempt to turn them away. "No!" he whimpers, his voice contorted with fear, "You shall not claim me." Grimacing, he falls from his chair, but manages to catch hold of a nearby table. He coughs a thick gobbet of blood onto the floor before attempting to pull himself to his feet, but fails to do so. "Connor, Tzarbiel yxal yma'anak tsatortul! Mehtan nehdara Rashiel!" To the patrons of Safe Haven Inn the words seem little more than a string of indecipherable phrases, but to Connor their meaning is clear: "Connor, the fiend-thralls of Tzarbiel come! Protect your daughter!" {OOC - Connor: Lloc'yth just spoke a combination of Sylvan, Draconic and Abyssal, all of which I am assuming you know} |
| MaliciousAngel03-26-04, 09:14 AM | The grey man listens to the man without speaking. Bemusement captures his features... "If you absolutely know what I am up to, then why do you not stop me? Because you don't know. There are things in life that are a matter of chance, and not a matter of choice. Other things are not...Never test the inevitability of fate, or you start playing in an alley against loaded dice friend...You know little of what I want, nor what measures I am taking to secure it. You rely too much on your charms and not enough on your eyes...Humble nothing...You reek of pathos. For that I do not fault you in the least, but instead I am resolved to pity you. Stay to the affairs of your Inn. These days are written in the cards...Breathe easy and seek peace Conner. But may you make better decisions good sir." He raises his mug in a toast and continues to lean back without a care to him...The show of the old man does not seem to disturb him too much. Half because he was ignorant of what was being discussed. He caught pieces of language, but the structure was such as to make it confusing...Fiends? Nothing of the like...Just a knock at the door from the Black Hand. |
| eriwoj03-26-04, 01:48 PM | Silxa returns to the kitchen to find Lloc, as most were now calling him, lying on the floor gasping for breath and flailing in a mad fit. "Connor, come quickly!" she shouted. "Our cook is dying. Inner demons are devouring him from what I understood of his crys. Surely in all your magic you have some remedy for this," she softens her voice as the inn keep aproaches so as not to disturb other patrons. "Oh me Bo¿e," Silxa mumbled as Connor took over the care of the older man. |
| Lord Tarran03-26-04, 05:10 PM | Connor looks up momentarily, having heard Lloc speak, as the door slams shut. Steel, or what appears to be anyway, covers the walls, and begins to glow. He yells: Nobody touch the walls! Rachel, set up the heavy wards, especially the Yadoyagnildi. He winces slightly as he says that last word. He runs to the counter, leaps over it, and lands soundly beside Lloc. His hands begin to glow a blinding blue, as a cabinet in the side wall explodes open, as pour magic, or correction, what appears to be, pours from it. They are blasted onto Lloc. Soon finding the problem within him, a demon egg, Connor pours all the magic from the cabinet and himself into the elder man. Roaring in his draconic fury, and releasing all his bonds, he destroys the egg, and thunders into the heads of the coming demons. He roars: How dare you come after my friends, fiends of Tzarbiel! I am Connor Shadowborn, master of the Safe Haven, son of Nera, great great great grandson of Tzarbiel the fallen, paladin of the shadow. Be gone, for coming here will be death. This is but a taste of my powers, do not you dare come within sight. He lets his magic go, finnally destroying the damned thing that had given Lloc his cough, and all his troubles. The suppressor of Lloc dragon right, was just obliterated. Connor quickly gets himself a glass of the shadowy liquid, and downs it. He then comes with another glass of the substance, handing it to Lloc. He says, in a soft voice: Drink this. This is the greatest healing agent at my disposal, for those of us with draconic blood. I found and destroyed what had caused all your pain, and left a painful mark in all servants of Tzarbiel. The Inn will be safe for now... Suddenly, the walls began to glow with magic sigils, as a blue light played over all the patrons. The light ended, as a chickling came from the blasted door, and Rachel sat across the table from the stranger. She smiled sweetly, before saying, out of the hearing of all others but the gray man: I know. You're going to try to hurt Silxa. Don't lie, I can see right through it. My father was gifted with great powers, but I was given something that puts me equal with you. She stands, and walks away to behind the bar. She watches him, smiling in a way that would make balor's cringe. |
| Pipers Youth03-26-04, 08:50 PM | After the broad shouldered man is finished speaking Mcknily turns to the imp in the scrying glass,"Did you get all that demon?"The imp winces at Mcknily's voice and straightens up "Ya ya I got it old man, find the bloody person and report back." :w: :r: :b: :u: :g: |
| Salacious Angel03-26-04, 11:43 PM | Lloc grimaces. "I am sorry Connor, I do not know how this thing - this fiend - passed through your door. It must have used me as a vessel... I am sorry to have broght such a threat within Safe Haven." Having regained his composure, Lloc makes his way towards the newcomer. "Please excuse Connor, he fears for the safety of his patrons and his daughter. I myself sense no threat in your presence, and hope only that whatever reason you have for being here is an honourable one." |
| MaliciousAngel03-27-04, 12:10 PM | The grey man smirks...Over the lands and over the seas, oh what fools these mortals be. For what gift have they that cannot be taken. Differ destiny only to be forsaken...He leans back again seeming entirely bored and unammused...Distracted eyes hide all lies...Intrigue twinged his senses though. That was a fast recovery for an old man. Magic is good, and strong. But no mortal magick does things like that. There was something more than meets the eye about this meeting... "Hope...That is the last resort of all. I hope that one day I may sit on my porch with my grandchildren on my knees, and whisper sweet secrets into their ears. Then when the day is done take the hand of my love, and watch the sunset through bloodless eyes knowing that tomorrow I can ensure that my sword stays hung over the mantle, cleansed of all sin, bloodless as the day it was forged... Conner sees through bloodshot eyes. I do not blame him. You on the otherhand see things in a way that is not common in this place. I should know, for I have traveled much...What is your story Lloc of the Dragonborn? How is it that one destined for such greatness should find himself in such a humble local? Any matter, honorfull or not, can wait in line behind a story..." He sips the potent tea before him and listens intently... |
| eriwoj03-27-04, 04:12 PM | Silxa had held Lloc's hands during the brief power struggle, but upon peace being restored she takes the bread and cheese she promised to the gray man. "What was all that?" she silently wonders, but speaks aloud to her friend for a monent, "Dieser Fremdeplatz ist sehr Kranker als ich denke erst. Wir können Aussenseite gehen, vielleicht. Es ist ein schönes Tag. Kommen Sie, bitte?." Addressing Connor from afar, she says, "I am going to step out for a moment. All the static activity in here is making my head swim." ((TRANSLATION: This is a stranger place than I first thought. We could speak outside. It is a nice day. Are you coming?)) |
| MaliciousAngel03-27-04, 04:31 PM | The grey man looks about, stands up... "Sir we will continue this conversation when I return...Outside sounds delightful..." ((Outside of the Inn's Doors.)) Upon reaching outside, the grey man's tones hush to barely above a whisper. "Silxa, you are in danger. Grave danger. And you act like that means nothing. I find such sentiments most disturbing...How much do you know of this jewel that is in your possession?" |
| Pipers Youth03-27-04, 05:46 PM | Continuing up stairs in Mcknily's office With that word said the imp vanishes in the scrying glass in a puff of smoke that smells like sulfer. Mcknily turns to the broad shouldered man,"Yes this will take a bit, I summoned a low class demon so he's a louse." Then the magician lifts himself from his newly reapolstered chair and gestures to the door. |
| Lord Tarran03-27-04, 09:06 PM | ((Well, since technically I did employ her, the walls would have let her though. And since the grey man followed, I guess thats alright.)) Connor watches them leave, and nods to his daughter. She winks back, and fades out of sight. Connor feels his blade lifting from his hip, and sees a glimmer of magic go in front of the bar, soon completely out of vision. He walks over to Lloc, looking as if he had not just done the massive healing. He says, in a language that only halfdragons know (tongues doesn't help): Tzarbiel is going to be here sooner than I had hoped. His minions will reach us before the month is out, and he himself should be here in the year. But, right now, we have other problems. That gray man, is a god. A minor one, but one none the less. He has ill intention towards Silxa I think, and my daughter has acted strangely. Hopefully his appearance, Silxa, Rachel, and Tzarbiel are not related, but I have an awfull feeling that is not true. How about you? What do you think? |
| Pipers Youth03-28-04, 01:37 PM | As Mcknily gestures to the door he says to the man,"I'm going down stairs to talk to handle some affairs, stay if you wish but please stray away from the cabnets, they hold some rather personal items." Then Mcknily grabs his old leather-bound book and heads down stairs almost tripping over the steps. He soon spots Connar and slowely paces toward him catching a quick glance at all the guest. As he reaches Connar he takes a breath,"Connar I do hope you know this is a place for healing,I wouldnt want some of these people to feel uneasy of what is bound behind some certain door if you know what I mean." |
| MaliciousAngel03-28-04, 01:40 PM | Outside the Inn a thousand senses reawaken in the cloaked man. He reaches out to learn all that he can of the area, including any eavesdroppers that might be damned through following him...His scorn grew heavy. He hated this game for all that it was worth, however it is these games that are his want in life and he realized he must play them out to the best of his ability...A malicious glint took to his shadowed gaze. All would be his soon enough. "Silxa...Answer me. What do you know of this charm you seem so intent on keeping?" The greatest flood starts with drops of rain. |
| Lord Tarran03-28-04, 01:49 PM | ((This going to be interesting.)) I'm aware Mcknily. But don't worry, our friend is no longer evil, and he will behave. And you know as well as I that he is about as bound as you are at this moment. He could come out whenever he wants. He's perfectly welcome. Connor worries about what going on between Silxa and the grey man, but has no fear that all will go in the best way. |
| Pipers Youth03-28-04, 05:49 PM | Mcknily winces at what Connar has to say and straighten's his spectakles,"What you unsealed the door, why didn't you tell me?" As Mcknily speaks he walks over to where the sign in book is, opens it open and takes the coins and puts them into his leather-bound book. Then Mcknily takes out a peice of parchment and writes down something. Then he brushes some lint off of his robes and walks back over to Connor,"Well then you don't mind if we go take peek do you?" |
| Lord Tarran03-28-04, 07:18 PM | Connor looks likes he thinking for a moment, before saying: He's not in there right now. He's tagging along with Rachel, and I'm not really sure where she went. |
| eriwoj03-28-04, 07:37 PM | Outside Silxa listens politely as her old aquaintence again persists the issue of the charm before speaking up in her own defence. "I do intend on keeping. Until recently I thought it merely a clever rouse for keep safe things like coins. As you remember at the Cross Roads, I am sure you do. The youngster who attempted to cull the coins from my purse but to his amazment and my amusement it was empty. Then I took a few from it and paid for my drink. Do you remember?" Silxa lowers her voice as she continues, "It is thus same medalion that protects it. I ventured no further guess of its use until recently. I found that it allows one to cross swift waters and allows for firery or freezing touch at want. However I suppose that you know more than that since you brought me tidings of ill fate to the one who carries it." |
| Salacious Angel03-29-04, 01:10 AM | Lloc's brow furrows. "I am uncertain of the cloaked man's intent. He possesses great power, of that I am sure, but whether or not he desires to cause harm to Silxa is detable. I sense much hostility within him, but it may not be directed at her... perhaps he is in fact here to help her." He turns towards the kitchen, but then faces Connor again, adding, "Oh, and one more thing. You spoke before of the door; what is its significance in our battle against Tzarbiel?" |
| Pipers Youth03-29-04, 04:17 PM | Sorry I did a triple post lol |
| Pipers Youth03-29-04, 04:18 PM | McKINLEY'S eyes widen when he hears someone address Connar from the kitchen. As soon as this was said McKNINLEY pulls out a small wooden pointing stick from his robe and smacks Connar on the leg making a (twack) noise,"Have you any sense Connar, these people have no business in knowing of our affairs! Have you learned nothing." OOC(Finally got McKNLEY spelled right.) |
| MaliciousAngel03-29-04, 06:11 PM | A grim air takes him... "Oh I assure you that that prize is capable of so much more, but it is not worth the price you will pay for it...When one would hope to reach the stars the oft to fumble on a single straw...That is a bale my dear. And it will cause you the greatest anguishes...Give it to me, and I will handle the matter in your stead...You know that I would never harm you. I do this in your best interest...Please. As a friend. Give me this charm and I will make this nasty piece of business go away..." He clasps her shoulder gently in his gloved hand. The people in the space outside begin to move in droves towards something down the block. A few guardsmen follow the pack. "Please...This is of the utmost importance..." |
| Lord Tarran03-29-04, 08:09 PM | Connor give the mage an exhasperated look. He says: Lloc has every business knowing. He's family. He and I have the same great great great grandfather, Tzarbiel. Tzarbiel, you will remember, is the greatest of the evil metallic dragons. If Lloc asks what I've secreted behind the door, he has every right to know, seeing as the creature is also part of a certain prophecy. He enters the kitchen, and watches Lloc for a few moments before saying: Behind the door, well not right now, he's with my daughter, is a extremely powerful demon prince. Extremely powerful meaning that creature is so old he can remember before the Qlippoth, the creators of the Tanar'ri, came to be. He is truly a god, equal in power to Bane and Mystra of this world. Recently, he was thrown from his seat of power, deep in the abyss, and stumbled to my door. I nursed him back to health, not knowing what he was, and then proceeded to exchange for my healing, had him guard the inn. Over the past few years, I've been turning him closer to good. He still has some taint, but give me a few more months, and it will be gone. Suddenly, a blade swings down on the godling's arm. Not a simply commoner's blade, but a glowing blade, obviously meant to hurt gods to those who can see magic. Rachel suddenly appears, totally undetected. She only used the flat of the blade, to break the man's arm. Even if it doesn't hit, she punches him in the sternum hard enough to knock him clear of his feet, several yards backwards. (Malicious Angel, I can say that she hit you on that one on how close she is. And yes, she can do that. you'll find out why shortly.) She screams: Silxa, I just refreshed the wizards eye. Get back inside the inn, this GOD plans to kill you. A pack of assassin come from the rear, and I can feel there allegiance to him. I can deal with them on my own. Tell my father that the time has come. Now go! ((OOC: Malicious, the inn is in the middle of nowhere. There are no people around. We're on a not so well traveled road, somewhere in Faerun/Oearth/whereever. Thought I should point that out. Also, don't worry, this isn't going to go how you think. Well... I don't think so anyway.)) |
| MaliciousAngel03-29-04, 08:33 PM | ((A great and jovial feet of munchkinism...Dude...Ummm...What exactly do you think you are doing? How...You know what...Forget it...All there is to it. If you don't know the story then don't post. This is my never ending beef with posting outside of my forum. I thought we had an understanding with this? Now because your demon guardian is possessing your daughter, does that mean I can raze your inn to the ground? No because you'll just think of some other reason for me not to...PM people before you try pulling stunts like this. And this is a stunt...................After an hour......Alright, I am cooled down. PM people before you strike into their plot like that dude, seriously. You try to bop a lot of details in that don't exist. I am sure your intent was innocent enough, but still...Out of courtesy.)) Trand smiled as he took the blow, still very much active and on his feet. Oh the joys of expecting nonsense such as this... "Corruption runs deep Silxa. Even into the very place of your employ...Tell me if I did not warn you of such actions..." Sidestepping he gets into a defensible position. "Girly...You play with knives and you are going to get cut...What pack of assassins you blind little fool of a girl............You know what the trick is when making a deal with the devil?" His form seems to loom in front of her in malevolence... "Don't..." |
| eriwoj03-29-04, 08:45 PM | "Do not touch him again, Child!" Silxa steps between the two waving away the magic eye and grabbing Rachel's sword, "Girl, you are blinded by your father's dance with a lord of darkness. This man is no God. Where on earth would you get an idea like that?" She holds the sword behind her for her friend to take as she reaches out for the girl's arm, saying, "Come here. I need to show you something." Silxa drags the girl off a few steps and blinks slowly. Her white eyes open burning in a bright red light. She closes them again and upon reopening them the right one falls from its socket in to her ready hand. Silxa extents her arm out for Rachel to clearly see the glowing red orb. "Look deeply. What do you see?" she whispers as she closes her eyelids so as not to draw attention to the empty socket. |
| MaliciousAngel03-29-04, 09:44 PM | A malicious look of victory comes across the grey man's face...He examines the blade that was placed in his hands. It was a good make. On another day if he slept at all this would have hurt. This was not a tool for the land of mortality...But the enchantments about it did intrigue him some. "Now who gives girls like that a weapon like this?" The question was unsettling as the answer that he began to deduce...Study was in order, and if this enchantment could be further studied then it would allow him to also study the inner workings of this Inn. Satisfaction... "Hand me the key and I shall open a door. Hand me but metal and a ring, and I will open them all..." He whispered potent words of binding over the blade so that it would not relieve itself from his possession and placed it gingerly into his rucksack. Sheathing the short sword, taken out of reflex, he lurched his senses towards the talking two...The demon girl, and a friend...Looking down the road he notices the increased traffic through the area including some of the Waywatcher Guards that frequented routes such as these... |
| Lord Tarran03-30-04, 04:50 PM | ((Freedom of Destiny genius. I can do whatever I want, and I'm not interferring hugely. Also, pay attentio, this post is about to be a turning point.)) Rachel smiles, and sticks her hand out into the air. Grinning in angelic fury, she yells: Return to me, Marili! The sword, hidden within Trand's sack explodes forward out of it. Returning to her hand, she places herself in battle stance. Strolling from the shadows behind her is a man, in dark armor. He holds the sword's twin, glowing in the fire of the hells. He takes the same stance as Rachel, as his grins at Trand. Shaking his head, he laughs, and says: What gives me the impression that that man is a god, Silxa? Simply, he never denied it. Secondly, he reeks of divinity. Thirdly, he's still standing, after getting hit with a god slaying sword. Let me introduce myself. I'm Taatsael, Former master of the Abyss. Now, much to my chagrin, I help fight the good fight. This man, for since we are equals, I can call him this, entered the inn with hostility, obviously targeted towards you. Why? I have no idea, nor do I care. Now, technically, I'm not allowed to hurt him, for he is outside the inn walls. I will keep this. But quickly, TRAND, yes I recognize you, let me remind you, that a girl just broke your spells, and called back a sword that you can tell is capable of hurting you. I'm going back in, Rach. Remember, please, to not allow your father to know that you are ready for Tzarbiel. He's planning on "training" you a little more. I don't even think he knows the extent of what your birthright was, my little goddess. Cheers! With that, the young man went back into the inn, went to the door, opened it, and slammed it shut. Clicking of locks could be heard. Rachel smiled. She said simply: Trand, huh? Never heard of you. In better circumstances, I would have liked to learn about what its like to be a god. Now, unless you can give me an amazingly good reason why both my father and Taat felt that you wanted to hurt Silxa, I'm going to have to hurt you. I like Silxa. My father isn't capable of hurting you, nor is he allowed. Taat is the same way. I on the other hand... I am allowed. You see, I was born to defeat the great evil dragon known as Tzarbiel. Now Tzarbiel is highly powerful, having stolen some of Tiamat's divine power. Now I'm descended for Tzarbiel, by about 4 generations. The divine power has shown up in the good of our kind as paladin's power. It did the same for me, and then some. Lord Bahamut chose me to defeat Tzarbiel, by taking some of the divine right, and with the help of a few other good gods, expanding it to something I can use to defeat my great great great great grandpa. I plan to test some of my new gained powers on... excuse me... Seeing the assasins she had spoke of earlier, the blade began to glow. She exploded forward, taking the first at the neck. Her foot came up and around and dropped the next one to the ground. Turning her wrist around 180, the sword caught another under the throat. The last one began to run, as Rachel threw a net of pure light. It wrapped him, and the symbol of a dragon eye with a sword through it was seen on his back. In fury, she picks the man up, and tosses him to the inn. He flies into through the door, along the counter, and stops in front of her father. Who simply glances at Lloc. Speaking once more, she says: Sorry, Trand, I guess those assassins were for me. You are still hostile towards Silxa though... but... ummm. She hooks her pinky in her mouth in thought, suddenly looking like a child again. Shaking her head, she suddenly remembers what is going on. She shouts, pointing her blade at Trand: You want to hurt Silxa and I won't allow it. She glances at both Silxa and Trand and says: That's right... right? ((Well sorry. Also quick note. I lied when I said that Rach is a 5th level sorc. She's a 20 paladin/20 sorc/ 5 monk, with divine rank 6. Of course, she also has the physical stats of a half dragon child, and the mind of a 13 year old human girl. She's a little stronger than her father. Also, you came to me first, you should have told me the full story. Not my fault. Also, though you are right, I should have PMed you before knocking you arm, and punching you, I'm not sure how I'm out of line. It was kinda obvious that Rachel was a bit more powerful than her dad, and was destinied for greatness.)) |
| eriwoj03-30-04, 06:25 PM | "Calm yourself child!" Silxa shouts at the girl replacing her eye, and again stepping between her and Trand, "If you will not look willingly I can not help you! I wash my hands of you and your father yet I refuse to leave! Here, she tosses her cloak to Trand who disappears as he wraps it around himself. "He does not deny being a God and yet he does not confirm it. You must listen better. This is his way. He is purposely vage about everything, even to me. If you have not noticed. Put that pointy thing away, for she who lives by the sword dies by the sword. "I am fully human or at least I may have started out that way. I am still human, but I have been gathering magical tokens. I may be blind, but I have gifts. As part of my chosen path of life I travel looking for people who need help, need guidance, need education. You are my charge now, relax! I am here for your benefit of life not for your glory. You may not understand the differance because you are so young and naive, but in time you will." |
| MaliciousAngel03-30-04, 06:35 PM | ((Dude, I do not care about who or what your character concept is. I don't care what reasons you have for having all this big bang abilities. The only thing I care about is what is interesting, fun, and exciting, and what is boring, dull, and stupid...When everyone has infinite power, infinite might, can never loose, and has no weakness things get really dumb really fast...Now I stated that I took measures to keep things like what has happened from happening. Did I not? You ignored those, fine...You say you have the right to? Whatever...In the end I do know that if you always RP in this manner people are going to get bored very quickly. There is great intrigue in loss and weakness...Do as you like. Now I am going to incorporate whatever it is you said you did into this...I can live with that because I am a forgiving and diplomatic person. I would politely suggest that you begin to learn how to compromise otherwise not only will I get bored with always having to loose, but all others you play with too...Carry on.)) The sword went through the bag and only a look of brief dissapointment crossed his brow... "I just fixed that..." |
| Faeryl03-30-04, 07:28 PM | ((Ever gone, but not dead, This character is no more in this thread)) |
| Lord Tarran03-30-04, 09:57 PM | Connor seeing the newcomer, and being completely unaware of what is happening outside his walls, walks over. He sits, and tries to read this creatures intent. While doing so, outsdie the walls, Rachel looks confused. Marili disappears, as she places her hands on her hips and says: But.. ummm... damn it! Outside the inn, I can't read him. Damn the naivete of the young! I've got godborn abilities, and I'm stuck with the mind and body of a thirteen year old human! I don't need a teacher. She crosses her arms with a humph! before continuing slowly: Or at least I don't think so. I guess this is what Taat meant about having to grow into my powers, and not releasing them this early.... stupid immortal pain... stupid inn not allowing me to read others out of it. I know he wants to hurt you Silxa, I just know it, but I can't tell how. Now, if we could go back inside, I might be able to figure this all out. She nods to herself, as if in confirmation: Really, I can..... I think so..... I hope so.... ((Now, as much as I would love to continue this wonderful discussion of things you will simply disregard, I will remind you of something. She has the powers of gods, in a 13 year old mind and body. Not just that, but an insecure, highly emotional, hypersensitve, constant mood swings, female body. I'm missing the lack of weaknesses here. Also, I'll remind you, you came to my thread, not the other way around. So... truce? Or must we continue this pointless bickering?)) |
| MaliciousAngel03-30-04, 10:30 PM | ((Did I not say that I was done with it? You continued...And since when was being female synonymous with weakness? I was finished before, and I am still finished. I have said my peace, you take it as you like.)) The grey man smiles most tenderly... "You are young...And very foolish...You have played every card you have owned, you dear girl... I am known in many places, by many names, none of which have gone to your ears because that is for the best...You do not need a teacher, so to speak, you need many. And an advisor and disciplinarian to boot. The young that bite the hand of the council are dealt with rather harshly...You poor poor little girl...Already doubt seeps into your young eyes..." His voice is cool and sweet. Disarming and kind...The sinisterness that took his form faded away in the wake of venerability and kindness... "Your Father and mentor both see with eyes clouded by thousands of years of death and murder that has surrounded the lives of a million souls in a million locals...In a way I suppose that I hold malice for all that I meet, for that is my want in life...God? What a silly world, but indeed that title can be found about me...But god of what? In that is your answer...For I owe you none... Have to hurt me? That is a shame...Should you are allowed to...But you, like the others, are uncapable...Servants of the Council do not die unless they want to my dear... If your vision is fogged now, that too is for a reason. Bless you and your compassion. But your place is not here, and not now...Such burdens you have...You would not like to have one such as I among them...Stay to your place and stay your sword...Find peace if you can...For while your mentor know me, he knows less about what I am capable of, and what I am willing to do...My past is my own, and I leave it unmentioned for a reason....A name is a potent thing, a past even more so...That is lesson one my dear... You can go back in shortly. But I have business to attend to out here with my company...And mine is more important than your lessons..." He takes a step back and patiently waits... |
| Lord Tarran03-30-04, 11:01 PM | ((You don't know alot of female teens, do you? That was how I was using it. And I'm the one who has no weaknesses. You just said that a memeber of the council can't die unless they want to. I wonder what a godslaying sword would say about that.... anyway, remember, if you think that a story will play how you want it, in some one elses thread, you're a fool. I interacted how I thought was best. Get over it, and let it just play out now. If you still feel like cluttering the thread with innane responses OOC, use the OOC thread please.)) Still on edge, however, Rachel does not fall into such a emotional trap. If her father taught her anything, it was that if something suddenly changes their tune so drastically, they shouldn't be trusted. She fades from view, and draws Marili once more, awaiting Trand's next move. She knows the spell we keep her invisble from all eyes, no matter the caliber, but wonders how she will respond to the god. Confusion overtook her thoughts, even as Marilir remained trained on the man. |
| Faeryl03-30-04, 11:44 PM | From the depths of her deep, concealing hood, the humanoid speaks, her voice floating like a soft, gentle breeze, reminiscient of warm, sunny days, and cloudy, mysterious nights, holding the Secrets of the Gods... "Rhyming is not a choice by me, But a must my them. A spell woven, but never broken, To save me from those who would seek my token, Sealed in blood and love evermore, Till the One who walks with the Light, Comes to seek the Truth, And break the Riddle of the Rhyme." The figure pauses then, as if considering something with deep intent, concerning, perhaps, the heart of the soul. Then she speaks again. Her voice is merely a whisper, a whisper of the wind... "Forbidden I am in some places, Made to wear the disguise of many faces. I come from the Darkness, walking into the light; Pain is my legacy, Tears are my path, Who Am I?" |
| Salacious Angel03-31-04, 03:54 AM | (((WOHHHH... Tarran, Malicious Angel, calm down please. No need to freak out - either of you. I know you're the GM and everything, Tarran, but I'm convinced the malicious one did not intend to cause any trouble. And Malicious, Tarran does have a point, you should be careful bringing your own posts into another GM's thread, it can lead to major screwups. I hope no-one gets too freaked out because I enjoy posting here. Now, lets play nice, alright?))) (((PS: Sorry to not post this in the Out of Character thread, but I'm not sure how many of you read this and I wanted both of you to pay attention.))) |
| eriwoj03-31-04, 09:41 AM | "I was exactly your age when I became as I am," Silxa mentioned to Racheal training her ears on the young woman's breathing to locate her, "Oh, I know what you are going through; not only are you a growing woman but now all the things you were destined to are coming upon you. I will instruct you on how to be a woman and not any weak house wife but a true feminist. I will allow your father to continue your training with weapons and the like." She touched her staff against the sword several times during her speach. "But, until I return to the confines of the inn walls will you not give me a bit of privacy to speak with my friend? I have known him at least as long as you have been alive, and I wish to speak with him. You have known him but a few hours and not even learned what he is here for though you have heard. Please, I came out here to get away for confrontation with you and your father; please, go inside and await my return for I will return," Silxa makes on last plee, woman to woman, facing the invisable girl squarely. ((OCC: I told you not to interfer, damit!:hoppingma)) |
| Lord Tarran03-31-04, 09:26 PM | ((And I said I wouldn't, as long as you weren't in the inn walls. The second he entered, all things were thrown to the wind.)) Unnerved that a blind woman could detect her, Rachel walked back into the inn, keeping the door open, and her eyes trained on Trand. Though she was out of hearing range, she could still see all proceedings. Connor on the other hand, replied to the rhymer in turn: I am Connor, Lord of the Inn, And I come to see If you are friend, or fiend. You, my dear, i can't read yet, for your stay, has been to short, for me to tell. Now tell me, why do you speak in poetry? |
| eriwoj03-31-04, 10:37 PM | Silxa and Trand continue their conversation, backs turned to the inn door and fully aware they were being watched. ((OOC: Fair enough but 1. we are OUTSIDE!!! 2. He ain't the one after me. He is my friend but he is not the one I warned you of.)) |
| Lord Tarran03-31-04, 10:41 PM | ((NOW YOU TELL ME! I though that this was the guy. MA, I'm sorry. Erwoj, tell me when the right guy comes in please. Thanks.)) Connor's player goes off puttering about people not telling him everything, and every now and then kicking a rock. |
| MaliciousAngel04-01-04, 09:33 AM | ((Did I not already say that I was done with the matter?)) Trand rolled his eyes and sighed... "Youth truly is wasted on the young, and sight on the un blinded... You will have a handfull with that woman when I leave. But you need to put her in her place, my dear Silxa. The Council will come down heavily on her, you understand this? But back to my business...Silxa...They have sent a warning...Come with me..." He takes her gently by the hand and walks further down the road with her. They reach a tree where the way watchers had congregated, and a tiny crowd had assembled. However, the sight was unnerving mostly because of how remote this road...More disturbing was what they found here. A body... "A terrible thing has happened on this day Silxa...Do you know this man?" Through his touch the Angel of Malicious Intent fused his eyes through Silxa skin, and in her minds eye she saw the following...The body was filayed and wired to a tree. The garot that killed him was still sunken into the poor souls neck and seemed to be predominantly what was keeping him suspended. Blood dripped and stained the earth as his features seemed to have been all but torn from his face...A few of the features were still descernable, and slowly, like a creeping horror, the dead and grim visage of Jax was solidified in Silxa's mind...The Way Watchers studied the two with some interest but reassumed their efforts to get the man out of the tree... |
| Faeryl04-02-04, 01:08 AM | From the depths of her deep, concealing hood, the humanoid speaks, her voice floating like a soft, gentle breeze, reminiscient of warm, sunny days, and cloudy, mysterious nights, holding the Secrets of the Gods... "Rhyming is not a choice by me, But a must my them. | eriwoj04-02-04, 01:22 PM | Silxa senses Jax's body hanging on the tree, life voided. "Dear no," she gasps, then turning to Trand, "I am sorry I doubted you, but now that I believe, please, I beg of you, go. Save yourself, for I alone will face this evil. If it be my fate then let it be, but I shall not give up without fight, for as long as there is breath of life in me, I shall stand and my blood run cold as reminder of this attrosity." |
| Pipers Youth04-02-04, 06:44 PM | Mcknily side-steps as one of the assasin's is thrown into the Inn's door almost colliding with the old magician. He briskly walks out of the Inn's door and stands outside where a small crowd has gathered,"What is going on here!"           |
| MaliciousAngel04-04-04, 05:01 PM | Trand shook his head... "I shall do nothing of the sort...I said I would take care of you and I shall not leave till that is done...I will not send you alone to face a flood...You believe that you can face this alone? Look what it does to your friends behind your back...SILXA! WITNESS THIS! AND REMEMBER THIS!" He puts an assuring hand on the small of your back... "You cannot face this alone...Especially when you do not see things like this coming...Give me the trinket...I will not take no for an answer...Give me the charm, and we will fight this...Together..." His voice is soft and completely intoxicating...It would be a dreadfully hard thing to resist the luxuriousness of his words... "Please..." |
| Pipers Youth04-04-04, 08:37 PM | Mcknily winces once he see's the chaos that has been taking place outside. And turns his head toward Rachel giving her one of those *spare the rod beat the child looks.*"Rachel did you do this?" :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: |
| Lord Tarran04-04-04, 09:30 PM | Connor, talking to Lloc still, says: This wouldn't happen to be a servant of Tzarbiel, would it? In the mean time, Rachel responds to Mcknily, motioning to the bodies in turn, with the edge of the sword, I suppose you mean these. Yeah, they were trying to kill me, so I slew them! Also, that man over there wants to hurt Silxa. Or something on him, like a parasite. And my mind's a little scattered right now too........ Hearing Trand, she comes out of invisibilty, and prepares to charge. She didn't trust Trand any farther than a normal human teen could throw him, and if he did anything to hurt Silxa, there could be problems. |
| Salacious Angel04-05-04, 01:28 AM | Giving a wearied sigh of exasperation, Lloc throws his cloak from his shoulders, a pair of mighty golden wings unfurling from his shoulders. His eyes flash with a fearsome glare as his body begins to stretch and elongate, rising to a height of some twenty feet as his robes meld with his flesh and he assumes a draconic appearance. Standing proudly on all fours and holding his wings erect over his head, he calls: "Rachel Dragonborn, cease this folly at once! This matter is none of yours, and I fear you are seriously misguided in your attempts to rectify the situation! While your intent is pure, your mind is clouded. One would think you would show greater care than to attempt an assault against a fully fledged godling!" Having regained his composure, Lloc smiles, batting the air gently with his wings as he continues. "As capable as you are, I do not believe any of us know the whole story." He waves a paw towards Trand and Silxa. "This is their matter to be resolved by their own means. Do not get involved, or you may find yourself regretting your actions." Turning to Connor, Lloc ads: "I apologise for not having alluded to this sooner. I am not a descendent of Tzarbiel, I am in fact his brother." (((OOC - A little surprise of my own. Sorry Tarran, should have told you earlier. Lloc'yth's actually a half-celestial great wyrm gold dragon monk/paladin/sorcerer))) |
| Faeryl04-05-04, 09:29 AM | Faeryl sat there, analyzing the man before her as she awaited a response from him.... |
| MaliciousAngel04-05-04, 11:52 AM | The Angel Trand shot a malevolent look over his shoulder at all those behind him. At the Inn in all of its mystery. At the dragon that appeared about to talk sense into the most foolish of little girls...In the younger days of the world he would have been sent to dispatch such a fountain of chaos magick...He smiled to himself and looked forward to the first little mortal boy she got a crush on. How he would revel in her and his dismay and shock. Oh such fortunes...The dragon clearly sees a blink of light under Trand's darkened hood. One eye in a wink...He turned to Silxa, and again spoke tender words... "No one has to be alone Silxa. Especially not you. While you have done well despite your pitfalls, this is something that you both should not, and cannot do alone...But moreso, you do not have to. Give me the charm...Free yourself, and feel your burdens lessened by the strength of the heavens...Why put yourself through misery. Give me the charm Silxa...Sweet Silxa...And be delivered from your burdens..." Raiated thoughts ricoched about Silxa's mind...Give it to him...He wants to help you...It is not that special anyway...He is a friend...Give him the charm...You do not need it anymore...He could give you so much more than that charm...He could give you sight...Give him the charm...The time has come... |
| eriwoj04-05-04, 07:39 PM | But other louder thoughts persisted, "It is mine, I bought it fare and square . . . I don't need him . . . I can do it myself . . . I am alone, always alone . . . I need no one." "I am sorry, my friend, but I wish it keep it. It is mine." she almost growls at him. |
| Pipers Youth04-05-04, 08:45 PM | Mcknily wices at Rachel's movements..... Right before Rachel darts off towards her target the old magician grabs her collor nearly falling head over heals,"Ohh no ya don't missy, not this time... I have a feeling that the women can take care of himself this time, and don't you dare test the waters young lady!" As he says this he keeps his eyes narrowed at the large golden dragon hovering off the ground giving one of those "I knew I should of stayed at the archmage guild" kind of look. |
| MaliciousAngel04-05-04, 10:38 PM | Trand gives her a look... "Do not take me for a thief Silxa...I am here only to help..." His persona gets a bit more imposing... "Look at what this charm does to you already. It is your drug, your crutch...This matter holds as much importance for me as it does you...Look what it does to those you care about? What if it leaks over to others you care for? This Inn? Me? What about D'Win? Ah yes D'Win...A most innocent and delightful writer. A bard who does not deserve to die for the causes of others, but only for her own art...What would your feelings be if something unfourtunate was to befall her, and not he who gave this charm to you...Jax, was a good man. Not always without shade to him, but for the most he was an innocent...If they tracked him here, do you believe that they have not already found you? This Inn that you have found yourself at is a good hiding spot for those lost souls that wish to loose themself from the world and all of their misfourtunes and indescretions. But it is not impregnable...Give me the charm...And we shall fight this together and see it through. The Hand will protect its own, and never forgets a favor...I have safehouses across all the planes, and in all the kingdoms of this one...You wish art and Inns? To Renaldia we go, and I shall show you the greatest goods from the most distant places, and such art as to make your soul cry...You wish for stories of your own? To the mystical streets of Pensula we shall go, the land of my origin. Where legends are formed as daily routine. The realm of the eldritch...You can speak with the elemental gods of this world and the next...But I will not leave you here sweet Silxa...I will not leave you here alone with this charm that even as we speak corrupts your soul...Why would you be venomous to a face of kindness? Give me the charm Silxa....I shall not take more denial..." This last seemed more of an order, though still with good intent backed behind it... |
| eriwoj04-07-04, 10:02 PM | "Even if I give this to you, I may be cut down anyhow when they come looking for me. And then how do I know that you will not be harmed yourself. If you go now, you shall be spared, and I the last casuality of this thing. "I would take it to the place where I hide all my treasures, but . . . I shall not entrust its location to any but myself. You know that is my one true secret, and I never will give up its contents or location," Silxa insists, "This one charm is not my poison, but my hoard as a whole." |
| MaliciousAngel04-08-04, 09:06 AM | Trand looks at her with a wary eye. "My dear...You speak in half truths. It is most unfortunate. Not only will you not die in my absense but you shall come with me to see this deed be dealt with...I would have it no other way. But whether or not you become last casualty of this nasty business remains to be seen. The the question becomes more and more burdensome the longer we stay...We must depart! As for me? My fate is not determined in these proceedings. However, I am too stubborn and to much of a pain to all around me to die. Especially without a fight...Let no thought of death come to you...I will give you the greatest treasures to recompence for what I need to take from you...Please Silxa. For the last time. Give me the charm...And let us be gone from this dangerous place." His voice was intriguing and dripped with charm and warmth. It would be very hard to deny him. But his mood has become most passive. A desperate plea. Through the gloom of his hood SIlxa sees two of the softest grey eyes peer out at her. One final notion of a plea... |

| Captain Binkle04-08-04, 09:47 AM | Hale and Thorn always competed in anything. Combat or drinking. Tonight the barbarian brothers were on a roll. They had both downed twelve mugs of the hardest ale. Nither looked as if the would give. They were working on a thirteenth when a hooded man walked to their table. "You are at my table," said the cloaked man. He drew swords, a rapier and a scimitar. Each at a barbarian's neck. Thorn began laughing madly. "Care for a drink," Thorn asked offering a mug to the man. Hale slapped away the slinder blade, as Thorn shattered the mug against the mans head. Hale unleashed a flurry of punches that sent the man reeling. Before the man could regain his wits Thorn lifted the man and slammed him through the table they were sitting at. Hale picked up the cloaked man over his head. Hale tossed him across the bar. He landed on a table of shady-looking men playing cards. They immediatily began to protest loudly, then thought better of it after noticing the barbarian brothers striding to the table. They each left the bar after gathering some of the winnings. The man attempted to gain his wits again. Thorn picked him up. "Ten gold say I can throw this guy through the door," Thorn said with a sly grin. Hale nodded his accord. Thorn lifted the man over his head and took aim. The man regained his senses and began to thrash about. Attempting to get away, but was hit with a dizzing punch to the nose from Hale. He took aim again, and with a roar threw the dazed man into the door. Outraged by the fluke, he followed the throw with a peace of the table. That caused the door to shift and fall back. Thorn looked back at his brother with a superior grin. Hale grunted angerly as he passed over the coins. Which were used for the broken tables. |
| Lord Tarran04-08-04, 11:53 PM | Watching the walls, Connor smiled, as vines of shadow exploded from the floor, surrounding each man in an unbreakable cocoon of magic. Connor snaps, as the table fixes itself. Pointing to the door, the three bundles walk outside, letting their captives loose. Connor walks up to the still stunned men, and says: This is Safe Haven. No fighting in my walls. Consider this your warning. Next time, the walls will kill you. ((Lets get something straight, EVERYONE. This is SAFE HAVEN. There is NO fighting inside the building. Unlike the CRT where it is enforced by Siani, this is enforced here by threat of the building killing you. This was meant as a hideway for those running, a perfect sanctuary. Binkle, the only reason the man wasn't detained instantly was because I can't read minds. If you feel the need to have hostility, PM me first, so I can work it in, without having to post things that had I not been DM here, would be considered godmoding and ignoring freedom of destiny. Everyone, try to help others follow this. Carry on. *Tarran walks away with a humph*)) |

From the depths of her deep, concealing hood, the humanoid speaks, her voice floating like a soft, gentle breeze, reminiscient of warm, sunny days, and cloudy, mysterious nights, holding the Secrets of the Gods... I come from the Darkness, walking into the light; Pain is my legacy, Tears are my path, Who Am I?" |
| BarbedWings04-15-04, 08:25 PM | ooc- just wondering, is it day yet? lol |
| eriwoj04-16-04, 05:06 PM | Silxa flares her nostrils in a defiant manner, stomps her foot and turning, in the blink of an eye, trots back down the road toward the tavern staff held out ahead of her. |
| Lord Tarran04-16-04, 10:51 PM | Oh, your back! Welcome Silxa. And, my lady, I am not one who is good at riddles. Speak with my daughter. Mayhaps she will be able to solve it. Connor looks outside, seeing the sun rise, shielding his eyes, as if by habit as it comes up. As soon as it is fully above the horizon, his hand goes down, but not til then. Rachel follows the same path, the sword gone. After the event, Connor walks over to man his daughter had thrown in the door and asks: Well, I assume you are one of Tzarbiel's. What is it that you wanted here. |
| Pipers Youth04-17-04, 12:55 PM | The old mage(magician) see's the sun setting and turns to Rachel by his side,"Now what was I doing? Oh well, it's time to go back inside anyway." Mcknily straightens his glasses and rubs his beard in deep thought. He soons turns to Rachel," Alright my dear time to put some of that magic of yours to work, do you still remember that simple teleportation incantation I taught you?" OOC(Alright!!!You don't know how delighted I am that it's time for some quick lessons in magic....eying Tarran.....)OOC |
| MaliciousAngel04-20-04, 09:20 AM | The grey man Trand kinda floats in behind Silxa and sits down in a chair, entirely bored...He simply was not the type to beg and he grew decidedly weary of the matter...Perhaps it would be simpler for her to die? Then she would know the severity of the issue. Then as her soul is wracked with pain in the Abyss, then she would know...Think not such things m'bucco. You have work to do... "Silxa, sit with me..." |
| Naiilo04-20-04, 09:30 PM | A man walks through the door dressed in a brown, sleeveless cloak closed in the front, hood down. He wears brown studded leather underneath the cloak. Straps cross his chest at uneven points hold his two scabbards and quiver at his back. A brown leather belt and silver brocaded buckle are around his waist. His swords are sheathed and his quiver empty. He has two leather gaunlets strapped around his wrists. His beard is full grown, and he has long rough hair. He seems to be in his thirties. "Hmph, a place to rest awhile." He whispers to himself as he seeks refuge in a shadowed corner. *Picture of him can be found here... http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.phps=&threadid=210627 ...drawn by krossbohnz, all credit goes to him* |

| eriwoj04-22-04, 04:27 PM | "I am not talking to you," Silxa snubbs Trand and completely aborbs herself into pouring drinks for the new comers. Her face shows no expresion of thought and tis true for her whole being is for now content with her duties behind the bar. |
| Naiilo04-22-04, 06:25 PM | (/ooc Trying to get more involved\) The man looks around. Of what can be seen in the shadows, he has a blank, un-expressionalist look on his face. He stands, the leather he wears creeking. He un-hooks his quiver from his back and lays it on the seat of his table, then strides towards the bar. He looks to each side, then says, "Anyone here serve Stubble Foot Ale?" (/ooc Just made Stubble Foot Ale up, a short stoy could be a dwarf was out looking for new things to make ale out of and stub his foot on a rock. Trand looked rather bored yet grumpy at the same time... "Silxa...As it is? This is an option you do not have..." He stands up and put himself in front of her... "Some matters you have a choice over. But not one that not only involves your life, but mine, and a thousand innocents...Either sit and talk with me at that table there, or I can take this conversation outside and allow my self to be heard with crystal clarity undisturbed...In either case, I will have my way in this matter." He puts an ushering arm around her without holding at all... "Please..." He gestures towards the table... |
| Naiilo04-22-04, 11:08 PM | http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/6753802/ /ooc See if that works, thats him\ The man shifts his weight on his other foot as he waits for service |
| eriwoj04-23-04, 09:26 AM | Silxa twists away from Trand's embrace and hurries off to get the man his request. She wants no more to do with Trand until she can clear her head for all thoughts now came flooding back. She does not let it bother her for she is too busy withher employment. She quickly returns with the man's request, "Here you are sir, I am afraid this is the last of it though until my boss can order more." |
| MaliciousAngel04-23-04, 09:41 AM | Trand's eyes glowed a hot white for a moment as a rage built inside him that subsided as quickly as it came. He had an uncanny ability to control his temper...Cracking his fingers he walks back to his table and heats up his pot of tea and continues to attempt to forget his worries to little success... "Pateince...Patience mon gris chat sans merci...Everyone needs to collect their thoughts..." ((Not bad bucco...Are you left handed perchance?)) |
| Naiilo04-23-04, 08:46 PM | The man takes a drink from the tankard, then starts to turn and walk back to his table. He turns back around halfway there, and strides to the bar. "The names Galadonel. Thanks for the glass, is something wrong, you seem down?" |
| eriwoj04-23-04, 08:46 PM | ((OOC: Naiilo, your picture is the first one I have seen that isn't cartoonish is ages. Congrats! You have real talent.)) "My mind is a bit busy with personal things. I shall be fine," Silxa cracks a smile for Galadondrel. |
| Naiilo04-24-04, 12:17 AM | The man walks back to his table and sits, merely content on watching his surroundings as he drinks his Ale. After he is done he pulls out a small brooch. The brooch is silver and in the symbol of a leaf with a emerald in it's middle. He seems to have a look of longing in his eyes as he spins the brooch in his hands. ((OOC is there any elves in the area?)) |
| Lord Tarran04-25-04, 01:12 AM | ((No permanent settlements, if that's what you mean. Wandering bands here and there though. Oh, and I'm back, if that matters.)) Still looking over the man that laid upon his table with his daughter's gold net about him, Connor hands begin to glow blue. Placing them on the man's chest, he finds something not unexpected, but highly annyoning. Another demonic parasite. Apparently, Tzarbiel really likes the suckers. Calling up the remainder of his paladin powers for the day, he fries the little pest out of the man, freeing the man's nervous system. With a tap, he is sent to the back room of the inn, for Connor to talk to later. He nods to Lloc, in dragon form, as if to say that the man is his to be questioned. Rachel, walking to Mcknily, seems crestfallen, the sword gone, now back in its sheath at Connor's side. |
| Naiilo04-25-04, 12:35 PM | Galadonel stands up, putting the brooch back inside his cloak, and walks towards Connor. "Perhaps I could have a word with you," He glances at the man walking to a the back of the inn, and sees the look on Connors' face. "If your not too busy." |
| Arcuna04-25-04, 10:41 PM | A somewhat tall human walks in, wearing studded leather armor. He has a traveller's cloak on over it, and you can see he has on leather gauntlets that keep shifting in and out of his cloak's shadows. His hood is down, however. and he looks like he has seen battle within a week ago, but not for at least a couple of days. He looks around, nods politely to everyone (if anyone) who looks up. He sits down at the bar, obviously unaware of what has been going on in the inn. He looks up, and with a slight smile, says, "Just a light ale, please." Looking down at the gusetbook, he asks, "Who do I talk to about getting a room?" |
| Lord Tarran04-26-04, 11:43 AM | As if by magic, the following words appear in the book. It says: Merely sign your name and leave a gold coin in the book. Close me, and reopen to the same page. your coin will be gone, and in its place will be your key. The number of the room is inscribed upon it. And about that ale? The following is yelled out by the book: RACHEL! ATTEND TO YOUR DUTIES PLEASE, AND FETCH THIS MAN AN ALE! Suddenly, Rachel becomes that implacable blur again, the ale thudding onto the counter at top speed. Nothing spills. Meanwhile, Connor sees the man, amd cracking his knuckles asks: Hmmm? What's up? Galadonel correct? |
| MaliciousAngel04-26-04, 02:40 PM | The grey man Trand smiles wryly at the guy looking for a room... "Looking to get a room? Well...A willing subject, a couple of drinks, and some good conversation used to do the trick..." He chuckles to himself. Leaning back in his chair he thinks of his next course of action noting precisely that the dear inn keeper Paladine abilities are at an end...Grinning he twiddles his thumbs. "What a day this has been for everyone...But oh what a nuiscance this all has been...All all for a stupid trinket with a lot of weight to it..." He shakes his head and rubs his temples to relieve himself of a headache. |
| Arcuna04-26-04, 06:12 PM | Looking impressed at the enchanted book, and even more so at the girl with amazing speed, the man signs the name Heimosu Steiner. Placing a gold coin inside, he closes the book, reopens it, and takes the key out. "Impressive," he says as he takes a drink of the ale. "How much do I owe you for the ale?" Heimosu takes his cloak off, revealing his full studded leather, and a small pouch hanging from his belt. He places the cloak inside the pouch, but it does not bulge, even though the cloak is at least three times its size, even when folded neatly. He has a few scratches across his face, but nothing serious. "I am sorry, but I do not know who Galadonel is...--" Breaking off, he looks around to see that a few of the people in here look like there has been action of some sort recently, and notices some of the blood from the fight earlier. "Are things usually this lively around here?" Heimosu smiles, now interested in what has been happening. |
| barnaby3604-26-04, 06:32 PM | A tall man flings the doors open, and roars in a thick dwrven accent: "Heimosu, you've done and given me a giant hangover. How am I to fix it besides dipping my whole beard in my ale jug again?" Roaring, he slams a stool near the man, and orders four pints. Claming down: "You know I was joking, laddie. I can't get a bleeding hangover! You know it's impossible, what with my breeding and culture." He laughs a hearty laugh, and gulps down the contents of the tankard. "So what is this new bar, eh? Your new home? I see you've already given yourself a title of "stranger inquirer" already. How many times have I told you not to care of the history of the bar, but the drink it serves." Another poor glass of beer wets the giant mans throat. "I am Gardwing Rekhduzzar, Man-Giant-Dwarf of the Mountains of Ghezzartov, or Kheleg-Zithir, in my tongue. And laddie," he turned to the inkeeper, "your gonna make a fortune from me!" barnaby36 |
| Arcuna04-26-04, 06:45 PM | Heimosu laughs a little, and signs Gardwing Rekhduzzar in the guestbook. He places another coin in the book, and hands him the key that the book then produces. "You had me scared there for a moment...(in a joking tone)But that's just like you, now isn't it? This is where I plan to stay until I decide where to go next. But hey, while we're here, why don't we get a piece of the action? You should see Rachel's (gesturing to the young girl serving drinks) speed...must be haste...Look over there...see that? This place is just hyper enough to fit your needs...dont let me get in your way... |
| Naiilo04-26-04, 07:17 PM | "Greetings Master Inaluna. I was wandering if by chance a band of elves, seemingly bandits came through here a few days back. They may have had a young woman with them, also elven, and probably didn't treat her the greatest. See, as a human, I was founded by an elven couple, and raised by the elves. Once I joined the Academy, I quickly rose in skill, surpassing the other elves, and the Council didn't seem to like that. They exiled me, and a few days after, an elven bandit group raided the town, murdered the men and children, and took the women as slaves. I've been following them for close to a year now, and the only woman left in their troupe is my sister, Siloque. The others have been sold off, and I've spoken to a few of them. Siloque is apparently special, and they intend to take her with them back to their homeland south of here. Any information would greatly help." |
| barnaby3604-26-04, 07:44 PM | "Aye, I suppose we have similiar pasts!" Gardwing laughs. "I must be obligated to help then. Although I know not where your sister, is, I will be whole-heartedly behind your search and will back you in any way. Just point, and I'll run." barnaby36 |
| Arcuna04-26-04, 07:48 PM | Well I did say I wanted some action. Heimosu laughs, finishes his ale, places three gold pieces down for it, and stands up. Count me in too! |
| Naiilo04-26-04, 07:57 PM | ((OOC If you want, we can create another thread, an RPGing thread so we don't disturb this one, and actually play this out.)) "Thank you both," Galadonel smiles to them both, a kind of thank you gesture, and then points to his table. "Sit there and I will join you shortly to discuss this in more detail." He then turns back to Connor. |
| Arcuna04-26-04, 09:59 PM | (OOC: Sounds good...I would like to get the chance to play this out; it looks fun :) ) Heimosu nods to Galadonel, and sits down with him. He pulls out a book, a quill pen, and some ink from his Bag of holding, and begins writing. The book looks like it might be a spell book, or at least something very important. His eyes start to glow a faint blue as he writes. They get to the point that they are too bright to look at without shielding your eyes. Then, they suddenly stop, and Heimosu nods to himself in satisfaction. (He continues to write until the next person posts.) |
| MaliciousAngel04-26-04, 10:25 PM | Trand watched Silxa carefully as she went about her chores... "Silxa you would work yourself to death. Your stubbornness aggitated me, but I find myself appeased in the moment. Won't you sit and drink with me till I find the presence of mind to leave this abyssmal bar? Out of your hair and out of my own? Surely if I cannot assist you, then you will allow me to advise you and tell you more about your foe? Or if nothing else, please...Just talk with me. Good conversation is so tragically hard to come by that I find myself wandering the planes just to find a lost sod to pass the time with who perchance remembers to golden age that has since passed us all by..." He kicks out an inviting chair and sips his tea. |
| Naiilo04-26-04, 10:47 PM | ((OOC: its late tonight and Im going to bed, but tomorrow after school I'll make the forum and make the story etc....No one lives in Indiana by chance do they? LoL wishful thinking no-one round here plays DND)) Galadonel sits at the opposite side of the table. He begins his tale, something taht you can visibly see as painful to him. " To understand what is to come, you must first understand what has past. I will tell you how it was told to me." He closes his eyes and pulls the brooch from his pocket. He starts in at the story. At the times that seem painful, he spins the brooch harder than normal. " When I was a babe, no older than a year or so, it is said my real parents left me in a hollowed tree trunk as they sat not far off. They had planned an evening picnic in the Rinsill Forest. A band of thieves murdered them, but spared me. They say the moon whispered to the thieves that if they were to kill me, they would all die a gruesome death. Later that night, a young elven couple from Garnitree, the elven town in the forest, were just married and decided to take a walk along a well known path that led into the forest. They were speaking of a child, when and how they'd like one, when, as its said, the moon whispered to them, telling them my location inside the tree trunk. When they found me, and found my dead parents, they adopted me as their own, a mere human, and named me Galadonel, which is elvin meaning Moonwhisper ((OOC: Look in the players handbook under Elven Family Names, its in there, and thats what it really means.). A few years later they had their own child, a daughter, which they named Siloque. I grew up well, and when I was at my twenty fifth year in life I joined the Elven Academy. I was trained there for five years (Hince why he is Ranger lvl 5). After my fifth year the Elders drew worried that I would surpass even the Blade Masters of my town and decided to have me exiled. My parents knew of this, and the night before it was to be carried out they broke into the Magic Guild of Garnitree and stole two identical scimitars. The scimitars were said to be wielded by Lielost, the first elf of the country, and founder of Garnilye, the elven land." Galadonel draws both scimitars as he stands, spinning them without effort in his hands as he shows the quality of the rare blades. "These are those blades. Days after I was exiled, I saw black smoke rise from the north, from m hometown. When I got there, my village was burnt down, and all the men and male children slaughtered. The women, even the young ones, were put into slavery. I found this," Galadonel throws the brooch in the air and it lands with a resounding thunk into the wooden table, its front facing the two listeners. in the burned down house that was once my home. Ever since then, I have sworn undying vengeance against elves and their half kin. ((OOC:hince favored enemy 1 & 2 (elves & half-elves)). I have become quite proficient with the blades here ((OOC:Hince made up class Dualist lvl 2) within the past year, and I named them Siloque, after my sister, and Moon Beam, after the affinity force that allowed me to live ((OOC: Galadonel believes the moon protects him, that it is his goddess)). "Now, get some rest, we have a long day tomorrow. Meet me here first thing tomorrow morning and we shall begin." Galadonel retrieves his brooch, stands and strides to the log in book. He Puts a gold coin within it, signs his name, retrieves the key and walks off towards his room. No look, no resignation of anything else in the place. The only mark made.....the single tear that dropped onto the table while he recited his story. It's strength greater than a thousand rain drops, it's weight greater than a thousand ogres as it splashed onto the hard wood surface..... |
| Arcuna04-27-04, 06:46 AM | ((OOC: Sorry, im in Texas (as you can see under my avatar). But just so you all know, Heimosu is lvl 3 rogue, lvl 3 wizard. Forgot to mention that earlier. I was thinking about making Heimosu an elf, but since I'm always either elf or half elf, I decided against it. Looks like I made a good choice lol)) Heimosu sits there for a few more moments, speaks with Gardwing about what may lie ahead, and then goes to bed as well. |
| Naiilo04-27-04, 07:50 PM | Galadonel stretches as he stands at the door leading into the inn. He drews both swords a few inches from his scabbard, making sure they are both clear of any intrusions from coming out, an old habit picked up years ago. You never know when danger will come, someone once told him, you must always be prepared. The light drizzle of the rain that was left over from last night's storm still hung in the skies, and the air was a moist feeling coming into the lungs. ((OOC: Hope you don't mind me describing the weather Lord Tarran.)) Galadonel walked to a nearby table and sat in one of the chairs, looking around with little interest. The bed was comfortable enough last night, and he felt good enough this morning, but traveling in overhung skies was always an experience that ended in distaste, and the light patters of rain didn't help the mood. He was getting close, he could feel it, and staying here at the Safe Haven wasn't his initial plan. He had thought it through thoroughly; stopping by, reloading his quiver, and leaving again, but something strange kept him there long enough for the dwarf and man to offer help, and he decided to stay. He had also thought about it during the night while trying to fall asleep, but decided against leaving that late, plus the weather agreed with his staying. A clank snapped him out of his brooding as he saw the strange girl slam a mug onto the counter top. This place was......different. Galadonel decided he liked it. Now for the two men...... |
| Arcuna04-27-04, 08:05 PM | Heimosu comes down soon after. You notice he is in his armor. He sees Galadonel nearby, and sits down with him. I'm ready when you are...Now if only Gardwing would get up...meh, he shouldn't be too long. Heimosu reaches into his Bag of holding, and pulls out two daggers and their scabbards. After he straps them on, he pulls out his traveller's cloak, saying, A dreary day...I suppose it fits the mood well (OOC: just trying to loosen IC tension). As long as Gardwing isn't up yet, I'm going to get some food. (OOC: If no one is at the bar right now, then please tell me...I can edit out the rest of this post so that Heimosu isn't talking to a wall, if need be :P And of course, if there is no food served here, I will need to fix that too lol) Heimosu heads over to the bar, and, suddenly realizing his mistake, turns around and asks, How long do you expect this to take? Just so I know how much food to stock up on. |
| barnaby3604-27-04, 08:23 PM | The hairy brute descends from his room, looking groggy "I tell ya mate, why do ya bring me to these rotten places with their rotten headaches? Arrgh, I'll do just about anything to get out of here for now... I don't remember much of last night... My memory is all fuzzy" He stumbles into a chair and asks Heimosu for a recap (I assume he gets one) "Ah, a quest! Haven't had one of those in a while. Mostly just drikkin' and killin'. I'm ready to get out of a rut!" Leaping up, he gallops up the stairs, returning with a host of weapons, armor, and asorted gadgets and doohickies "Well, are we off, or am I gonna get another hangover?" barnaby36 |
| Naiilo04-27-04, 11:18 PM | ((OOC: Sorry, time zones are screwing with me, I'll make the forum tonight and start the first post, but we'll have to continue this tomorrow, I'll be on ALOT more now, so no need to worry about my availability)) "Greetings, the both of you, and thank you once again. So far this is what we have," Galadonel reeches into his bag and brings out a map. It seems to be sketched roughly and quickly, a red line going through places north of The Safe Haven Inn, and stopping at the Inn itself. "This is the route in which they have been taking. As you can see, they've been travelling for the most part straight south. I believe they're taking my sister to one of the caverns south of here that lead into the underground city of Tir'Nagsa. Galadonel sticks a dagger in the map right where the city lies. Yes, the drow city. What elves and drow are doing together I cannot say, and what they plan to do with my sister once there I dare not to imagine. We must stop them if at all possible before they reach this city, or we might as well walk into our deaths, which I am willingly to do for this woman, but I am sure you both are not. I believe they are not but a day ahead of us, maybe a slight more since I stopped for the night. They move slow, and have been decreasing in speed of late, searching all ground they cross thoroughly for a sign of some sort. I've caugh glimpses of the backs of them on occasion as they crossed the horizon, and I think we are looking at least twenty men, fully trained in combat. They may stop at Cross Hatch, the town a few days south of here and rest for a bit. My sister must be weak by now being forced on this march, and all signs point to them wanting to keep her alive. If either of you want to back out now, no hard feelings will be rought, and I'll even buy you an ale for good times sake. If you want to come still, travel light, we will not be resting very much. Bring only what you can carry without burden. We have a woman to save, let's hunt some elf. ((OOC: The thread will be named The Elven Hunt, maybe this will spread off into the campaign I've been planning, but for now this is just a short adventure.)) |
| eriwoj04-29-04, 04:31 PM | Silxa nearly trips over the chair as she brings Trand a refill, "I will consider your proposition, but first allow me to fulfill a few more duties." Walking over to the band of vigilanties, she inquires, "Will you not wait long enough to fill you stomachs with food? It will help with strength. I can cook almost anything. So what have you a taste for?" |
| MaliciousAngel04-29-04, 10:21 PM | He smiles and whispers in a light and sing song sort of voice... "Take your time...For you have yet to listen to me as of yet. A win win situation I do believe..." |
| Arcuna05-02-04, 03:26 PM | (OOC: Please don't tell me this thread is dead... :( ) |
| Faeryl05-03-04, 01:30 AM | The cloaked figure in the corner of the establishment drains her drink. It had gone flat over the time that she had been ehre. She finally saw that this place was no better than any of the others that she had visited; they were all closed-minded individuals who persecuted against those not of the same skin. Xenophobics, the whole lot of them. Gathering up her staff, she arose, setting the glass on the bar counter, and walked out the door. |
| eriwoj05-03-04, 02:20 PM | Silxa takes the orders of the men and sets to work fixing their meal. She is in the kitchen for near an hour before she returns carefully balancing a large tray in each hand and one on her head. Her pace is slow and delibrate as she carefully extends her foot and moves it from side to side a bit before setting it down and taking another step in the same fashion. But even for this seemingly slow pace she quickly reaches the table and sets down the trays. Trand again whispers to her to join him, and she responds, "Eine Moment, Bitte," and hurridly makes her way back into the kitchen and around the corner out of his sight. She carefully gathers up her things. Before she silently slips out, she takes hold of a dish cloth kisses it and taps it with her staff. A plain, simple, black lettering appears on the solidly white cloth, and she leaves it in plain view. She gently eases open a window, quietly sets her possesions on the ground outside, crawls through, and then, eases the window closed again muttering, "A curse upon your line for dabbling in the Anti, barkeep. May it hunt you until the end of time. DZIECKO." It means: My friend Trand thinks he knows what is best for me, but I shall not tolerate his annoyances any longer. I am sorry that I can not stay as staff here. This inn is wonerful but with regret I must leave. There is no life for me here if Trand continues to bother me.) |
| MaliciousAngel05-03-04, 10:07 PM | The grey man all of a sudden pirks up in his seat...A smile comes across his shadowed face. He sniffs the air ever so slightly and then downs the rest of his tea. He pats the adventurers on their backs. "Gentlemen...You have an interesting predicament and a wide quest before you. Tread safely and may you find your respective dwellings again with more coin in yur purse...And if you need further information and assistance, journey to a place called Pensula, and seek the Ticking Hand Watch Shop that is located there...Good journies..." He picked up his bag and vanished out of the front door never to be seen in that place again... But he was not alone... At the back part of the building, from which Silxa exited, an odd grouping of foliage presented itself in some particularly high trees. It moved listlessly in the light breeze of the day and sniffed the air lightly. Shifting its weight ever so slightly it pointed a carefully crafted crossbow with a system of lenses at the back window of the Inn in order to provide a better glance into the area of interest, and to search for a target...In a chameline cloak of greens and browns the hunter Vespucelli tweaked his sights in order to find his target after gently folding the parchment that secured this contract with a seal and down payment...He smiled...This had never been so easy. |
| eriwoj05-03-04, 10:29 PM | Though well hidden from the eye, Silxa's ears could preceive even the slightest unnatural movement. She suddenly turned and threw some object. The antler-handled knife stuck in a branch no more than an inch from the man's head and while he was distracted for a moment, Silxa disappeared leaving her pack and staff lying on the ground below the window. "Rachel, if want to prove your worth, now would be a good time!" she hollered from her hiding place as she checked her money pouch for the medalion. Standing there she knew that now the several hundred year old oak was the only thing that stood between her and her assailent, and the only way he could get to her was to climb out of his tree. "That will leave him vuneralbe on the ground," she thought, "So even if that brat doesn't get him, I may have a chance to defend myself." ((OOC:  :banghead: :banghead: I would love to be in my char's shoes the thrill of the moment would be a relief from the stress of finals. :banghead: :banghead:  )) |
| MaliciousAngel05-04-04, 09:17 AM | Trand once again looked about and heard hollars and running feet. He smelled the air and realized that there were two people out here that he might have interest in and not one. He tightened his belt and ran around the corner... "Silxa! Come to me!" ---------------------------------------------------------- The lump in the trees named Vespucelli took a long stubborn look at the dagger with boredom. Then he pondered. Not just at the obscene range of that throw, but also one fact that he knew rather well... "But she is blind..." Seeing his target he squeezes the trigger... ---------------------------------------- The angry bolt cut through the air with a fluid and leathal grace but never found its target. It planted itself into the wood of the Inn with a distinct thunk as Trand advanced and spoke words in a hurried cant... --------------------------------------- Vespucelli cursed his luck...Where did that wind come from? There was negligeable wind resistence? Well...No trick works twice within the realm of the hunt. He hurredly reloaded and squeezed the trigger again... --------------------------------------- Once more an angry bolt flew through the air. Its barbed points cackled with laughter as they cut through the space between the hunter and prey within moments. It was dead on...It would taste the flesh of its target...But it never got there...Trand's makeshift wall constructed itself in front of the bolt with a shimmery irredescence. Upon contact the bolt shattered into a thousand pieces. And the Angel of Malicious Intent smiled. "Quick Silxa, get the charm..." |
| Lord Tarran05-30-04, 11:55 PM | ((Just an innocent bump to get us back up to speed.)) |
| eriwoj08-16-04, 09:35 PM | ((OOC Very busy summer. Sorry!)) "From my cold dead fingers!"Silxa shouted from her hiding place. The comment directed at the assain, "And just you try!" She chanted a few faint words and the knife dislodged itself and floated to the hand of the blind woman. She chanted a few more words and then bolted from natural cover to Trand's mistic wall. Under this cover she again threw the knife at the man in the tree, and again missed her mark; this time nearly grazing his leg. "My staff," she panted but Trand cut her off. |
| MaliciousAngel08-16-04, 10:01 PM | Trand looked over at Silxa... "Where is it lass? I will fetch it..." He listened with bated breath as he waited to hear her reply... ------------------------------------------------------------------- The sniper in the trees looked down at the dagger. "You know...I should really find another tree..." He reloaded, determined not to miss a third time. |
| eriwoj09-02-04, 11:23 AM | "I left everything by the window. Hurry!" |
| MaliciousAngel09-05-04, 01:31 PM | Trand looked over at the window and it seemed like he was there to begin with. He rifled through Silxa's belongings with abandon untill he found what he was looking for...He clenched his hand around the medallion and a steely glint of determination came into his eyes... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The sniper saw one of the targets vanish only to reappear again at the window. Looking down at the dagger he knew this was the last safe shot that he could take from this vantage. He gazed down the metal sights at his mark... "Rest easy..." He pulled the trigger... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- A mosquito like bolt thrust itself through space and flew at its target...It had one purpose, to drink of flesh and blood...Trand swatted it away from his person as though it was an insect...He waved his hand at the tree yonder, and the sniper fell from its bows, as though the living bark had deposited him thusly...His boots casually sidled towards Silxa, the medallion in hand...The sniper was not trying to kill her at all...He had been after Trand all along. And now the Angel of Malicious Intent had his gaze on Silxa the brave and blind. |
| eriwoj09-10-04, 08:47 AM | Silxa was making her way to the window still asking for her staff. |
