I recently picked up the Sailor Moon d20 book from Guardians of Order and The Slayers on ebay. I'm wonder what those who have used these systems before thought of them. Pros, cons, and such. ^_^

....well, ive used the slayers d20. just remember that anything can explode, and your in there. also, if your not careful, your pc's will kill things easy. it gets frustrating for a DM. as for sailor moon.... they did a cameo in slayers. they robbed my players for ice cream money..... ^^;

In Slayers d20 at early levels 1-5 caster may have trouble getting off most of their spells without nearly killing themselves (well more like knocked out). Be wary of the Summoning skill it can get ridiculous fast without much effort. Most of the problems are in the low level end of the gaming spectrum since most of your casters can only do a couples spells (if they are lucky) per day [This includes the healers].

Armor is practically useless (except for one PrC). That one can get crazy high AC, but it's a melee class so that is good.

The Priest may make you mad with it's delay spellcasting (at 10th level). The class can still cast spell before that it's just it will struggle to do so.

The book is still a good book, if you combined if with some good books [I recommend FFG's Traps and Treachery 1&2, Book of Iron Might] it can be really fun.

As for Sailor moon d20, I have nothing to say since I have only played the TriStat version of it.

Thanks for the feedback.

FYI: I think this is the Tri-Stat system. Is the system you're refering to made by Guardians of Order? I called it "d20" because that's what it was labeled under when I first looked it up online.

The tri-stat is by Guardians of Order it was first used with Big Eyes Small Mouth. It is based off of 3 Stats [Body, Mind, Soul] to determine your other attributes.

Well, Slayers was put under both the Tri-Stat system and the D20 system. (I have the d20 version)

GOO lost the license to Sailor Moon well before they did anything d20... not that it would be particularly hard to convert, since the 'Magical Girl' class from BESM basically lets you generate Sailor Moon herself... and no one else.

I dunno. It seemed to fit Card Captor Sakura pretty well.

Sure, it seems a little specific, in that it conveys upon the character both a magical item that is the source of many of their powers and an advisor/servant (ideally in the form of a small cute animal), but when you look at children's anime you realize that those two things together happen often enough that they really have become cliche. :)

Heck, it wouldn't be a bad class for Sabrina the Teenage Witch. (Though I admit I have trouble seeing a use for it in a more ... "normal" game of D&D.
