| technomagi06-02-07, 07:46 PM | A gateway in Sorcen's Baator You arrive at a gateway formed of intricate black chains, spike and blades. Some are stained with a reddish brown crust and the thing writhes as if it were alive as you approach. Hanging from a great post near the gate are an empty set of chains where a celestial hound archon  used to stand chained. :allalone: His black and writhing spiked colar still dangles from the end of the chain. The sign on the wall now spray painted over in Celestial reads. "I will be back for you Saran." An imp sitting on top of the post watches you approach and says "Welcome to Saran's gateway." :schemes: As you get to close the imp leaps into a hole in the wall. |
| technomagi06-02-07, 08:07 PM | Once you step through the gate you arrive on a asteroid floating in limbo. It has a breathable atmosphere and gravity seems normal. On one side of the asteroid. (the point where you enter.) A strange and alien jungle grows and sounds of life drift to you from the trees. All other points are jagged and barren with dark jagged openings that emit toxic smoke. A road leads toward a smoking volcano and a billboard reads "Saran's Forge This way" an arrow indicates the direction of the road. A short distance later the road ends at a tunnel descending into the volcano. You walk inside and find a large room. :invasion: Lemures and imps scatter at your approach disappearing into small hidey holes in the walls. :hides: Chained to the wall :twitch: is a lovely succubus  her large batlike wings and arms are chained extended. :embarrass: Her legs are chained shoulder width apart. She is a stunning beauty  even though her position looks quite uncomfortable. She has a bored expression on her face as she asks. "Welcome to Saran's Forge. May I take your order please?" You can tell it pains her to ask you. You hears snickers and laughs from various hidey holes. |
| technomagi06-06-07, 07:05 PM | The Denizen's of Saran's Forge The Forge http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/eb_gallery/82136.jpg http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/FC2_Gallery/101488.jpg Saran's Forge is a dark place, a place where one's nightmares come true. It is a mountain honeycombed with tunnels and populated by the vile. One does not find the forge. The forge finds you. It travels through out the planes of existence on its owners business, but one can only guess at that dark purpose. It is said that many have met Saran but few have managed to leave the forge in one piece. Those who do find it haunting their dreams and spend the rest of their days looking over their shoulder for fear that it might mysteriously appear again. The truth is that there are two types of visitors to the forge, those who get there by accident and those wish to do business there. Beings who do business with the forge are not squeemish by nature and know that Saran's is a Kyton of his word, those who get there by accident are lucky to leave in one piece. The forge resides within a great mountain, a smoking volcanoe that emits smoke, ash and sulphur. The fumes are toxic enough to burn the eyes and nose of everything within a mile radius. A small island surrounds the volcano about 5 miles long and 3 1/2 miles wide with an irregular shore line of rocky crags and shear cliffs. A twisted jungle grows on the island filled with horrid flora and fauna. The closer one gets to the volcano the more twisted the vegetation and creatures become. Then about a 1/2 a mile from the mountain the country side suddenly become blackened ash devoid of vegetation. Ash constantly falls from the sky and eventually covers everything in a layer. The monsters that wander here are aberrations and undead of the vilest kind all covered in soot so that they blend with the countryside. Saran Rahuul-Kyton-Hexblade/Sorceror http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/MM35_gallery/MM35_PG53.jpg He sits high on a throne of adamantium chains and skulls. He appears to be a gold elf of fine and handsome features and in his hand is a black goblet carved from the skull of some alien creature. Chains spiked and bladed hang throughout his cathedral of pain. Every device of torture imaginable furnishes the place. "This is only a prequel to what eternity has to offer," he informs you with a sinister smile. "We will be seeing you, soon." Saran is a native Baatorian who has long since ascended beyond the normal boundaries of his home plane. No longer is he some mere underling that can be summoned, commanded or constrained by normal means or magical constrictions. The last fool that summoned him discovered that the hard way when he woke up in the hells to late to realize his mistake. In life the fool had been a derro wizard of great power floating through space on a spelljamming asteroid. Now he was just another tortured soul. It did not take Saran long to enslave the asteroids inhabitants, and to twist the asteroid into a more suitable base of operations. Now the asteroid has been transformed into a plane hopping island. A great cathedral of magical chains houses the forge itself and its dark fires fuel the volcanoe that makes the island above so twisted. An atmosphere now covers the island in a dome and some of the nastiest flora and fauna that Saran could find in his journeys through the planes have been given a home there. So he scours the planes looking for the richest veins of the rarest metals to send his derro slaves to mine and the nastiest creatures to add to his zoo. One thing that Saran is always willing to do is make a deal. Those who do business will find his forge one of the vilest sources of weapons in all the planes. Esmalda -Erinyes-Cleric/Sorcerous/Mystic Theurge http://www.cabalcity.com/angels/artwork/index.php?file=./Complete_Gallery/2/Crypt_Angel_Todd_Lockwood.jpg http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/FC2_Gallery/101457.jpg Esmalda is the lovely consort of Saran. She is as powerful as she is beautiful. Her feathered wings could easily cause one to mistake her for an angel. Her beauty to mistake her for a Nymph. Only the eyes if she does not disquise them with some minor illusion give away the hardness and evil hidden beneath her exterior. Her outfit is made of some mystical material that changes color and cut according to her whim. It usually leaves little to the imagination but offers her much greater protection than one could imagine by looking at it. She often makes the outfit appear to be made of entwined leaves that are hard as steel and light and flexible as cloth. The material has a mind of its own and will change its design suddenly in battle to inexplicably intercept blades and missiles. She is extremely jealous of Tiana the Succubus. She suspects the witch is servicing more than Saran's customers. Bartholemew Drezden-tortured human soul-Artificer/Wizard http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/eb_gallery/82095.jpg Bartholemew lived a long life had a great career as a merchant of mystical goods. He had a wife and children. He was even a law abiding citizen, to bad he used the legal system to exploit those less knowledgable or wealthy than him self. He even sent an innocent man to prison just because he wasn't willing to pay for something that he had built for him. Then one night in his mansion, at the ripe old age of 102 Bartholemew died in his sleep. When Bartholemew woke up he found himself in the pits of Baator. He didn't languish to long in his prison. The leaders decided that his talents would serve well in Saran's forge manufacturing items for the Battlefield and other things. He is still a tortured soul, he just happens to be a tortured soul with a job. He is also one of the few privy to the secrets of creating warforged. When the Lord's of Eberron watched him die they thought the secret died with him. They were wrong. Now the secret belongs to Saran because Bartholemew belongs to Saran. Saran loved that idea of creating warforged enough that he had the necessary equipment installed in the forge. Bartholemew can be temporarily destroyed but he always returns to the forge after a time. After all he is already dead. http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/roe_gallery/88203.jpg T/W-7-warforged titan-special hellforged prototype-fighter http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/ForgeWar_Gallery/105856.jpg http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/eb_gallery/82166.jpg T/W-7 usually just referred to as seven is the personal body guard of Saran. He is a warforged titan bristling with built in weaponry. Seven isn't the only warforged in the forge. He is just the biggest. Warforged are not given any identity here. They are just numbers. They do what they are told or Saran has them destroyed. Seven isn't a great thinker. He just does his job without question, thought or emotion. Saran says kill and he does. Killikuuk-Thri-Kreen-Psion/Monk/Student of the Dragon http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/mm2_gallery/88268_620_121.jpg Epic level Thri-Kreen monk. No one really knows why Killikuuk hangs around. He has been given a small corner of the "garden" to use as his monastery. A modest temple has been built there but at the moment killikuuk hasn't taken on any students. Tiana-Succubus-sorcerous http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/ff_gallery/50177.jpg Tiana is a beautiful Succubus. She takes everyone's orders as they come in and lets Saran know what they want. Don't fall in love with her she is just after your money. The Gate Keeper-Hound Archon-Paladin http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/ff_gallery/50138.jpg The gate keeper is a celestial hound archon chained near the gate into the tunnels under Fang Mountain. A lot of beings enjoy tormenting him on their way in so he has graffiti painted all over him and obscenitys painted all around him. He was sent to slay Saran long ago and failed. Saran in a characteristically merciless moment opted to enslave the celestial rather than slay him. Now he is chained at the gate and a geas bids him ask the business of anyone who approaches. He then communicates this information somehow to people inside. He doesn't really do much but if someone tries to free him an army of mean and nasty things gate in and try to prevent it. If someone tries to slay him he is only allowed to be tortured to within an inch of his life before a heal spell automatically hits him. It seems to be an unlimited effect. Most beings only find this amusing for a while before they give up trying to slay the chained celestial. Tormenting him seems to be encouraged. A complimentary supply of vandalism materials is handy on a shelf near where he is shackled. So spray paint him, throw eggs or rotten fruit, give him a hot foot or set off a stink bomb near him. Whatever amuses you is fine. The Dragon of Tyr-Built based on the Dark Sun Campaign setting I really don't know what to say about this thing. If you have access to an old copy of The Dragon Kings from the Dark Sun campaign setting they are trully bad. I have of course written one up converted to 3.5 rules. |
| Dex06-09-07, 01:31 AM | From the not-too-distant future, a Post-School of Magic Shaitan steps through the portal. He approaches the succubus, and takes out a masterfully enchanted Byeshk shortsword that seems to be quivering at being taken to such a place. In infernal, he tells her: "I need a match for this blade. It's to be made of cold iron, and needs to make whatever it cuts bleed. I hope you can make something to measure." He spends the time it takes to craft it terrorizing the lemures and imps by rifting behind and seizing them, and then slowly pulling their arms and legs off with a great deal of care and attention. |
| technomagi06-12-07, 07:44 PM | The succubus looks at you and two chains reach out from the wall. "I will need to examine it if you wish a match. She says. The voice she speaks in is not the same sultry femine voice that she used to greet you. Rather it is a deep male voice speaking through her lips as the chains reach for the sword. If you let the chains take the blade it will be taken away for a while through a hole in the wall and returned to you shortly. The succubus smiles and tempts you with a sigh The master says he can do this for 70,000 GP. The blade will look just like the one you possess have a +3 enhancement and make your enemies bleed. Are these terms acceptable? Her voice is now sweet and sensuous. She smiles evilly [COLOR="blue"]The master even offers to bring in the hound Archon for you to test your new sword if you wish. COLOR] You can see anticipation written clearly on her face. |
| Dex06-13-07, 06:56 AM | "Your terms are quite reasonable, but I have someone...special I'd like to try it out on, later. I can pay upfront, but only in gemstones. Is that alright?" |
| dragor_shadowfury06-13-07, 07:16 AM | Nerethos emerge from the portal. "A mage targeted my chains with a spell a few days ago, and now they leak energy. I hope that you will be able to fix it" He raise his hands and the chains hover to a position around 5 inches in front of the succubus's head. |
| technomagi06-13-07, 05:42 PM | The succubus adresses Dex in her most seductive tone. Gems are acceptable. The master will wish to look at them first. The chains will nimbly accept the gems and take them off through a hole. Some time later the succubus lets you know that your payment is accepted. We can offer you accomadations while your sword is crafted if you wish. It takes a couple of weeks to craft your blade. She addresses Nerethos. Chains are my masters specialty. As she says this one traces her cheek suggestively before reaching out to take yours. The artificer will examine it. If you allow the chain to take it, it wisks it off through a hole for some time and she quotes you a repair price of around a quarter of the chains value. |
| Dex06-14-07, 12:54 AM | "I will graciously accept your offer of accomodation." Shaitan replies. |
| dragor_shadowfury06-14-07, 04:57 AM | ((the chains are an artifact with a creation cost of about 10.000.000gp. They are stuck to the arms of Nerethos, so it will only be then ends that leak energy, and that are supposed to be used to attack, that follow. Some of their power comes from being part of Nerethos...)) |
| technomagi06-14-07, 07:43 PM | A door opens in one wall revealing a tunnel lit by torches with unnatural looking red flames. A lovely woman that appears to be elven and a human man step through the door. Their skin is translucent and semi-transparent but they are solid to the touch (at least on this plane). The woman smiles at Shaitan. The man waits against the wall looking up into the darkness. The elven woman curties to Shaitan. The master has instructed me to show you to your accomadations. He says that you may enjoy the garden if you seek entertainment. Though do be careful not to get eaten. He collects things and turns them loose up there. As she leads you down the tunnel you see openings into areas of the forge where derro pound away at anvils and work the forge. Semi-transparent beings from every race imaginable help cart weapons off to racks and bring raw materials to the forge to assist the derro. It is a huge area and there are literally thousands of blades hung on racks. The heat that blasts out of those openings would be most uncomfortable for a mortal. The masters forge creates weapons for the battle ground. It is one of the reasons the Abyss sends their assassins so often. We deal with spies and assassins in the cruelest ways when we find them. Tiana, the succubus out front, got sentenced to a thousand years of customer service. She laughs her eyes twinkling. There is a whirling and clicking sound from above and two black thrones lower slowly from above. They seem to be made of chains, bones and blood. There are also spiders crawling down the walls which are made of chains. Sitting on the thrones is a figure covered in chains except for his glowing yellow eyes and a female figure so beautiful it hurts to look at her. If it were not for the feathered wings and the look of malevolence in her dark eyes one might mistake her for a nymph. They ride down just their finger tips touching one another. The human looking figure prostrates himself on the ground. All hail Saran Master of the Forge. Saran looks to Nerethos. Greetings wizard. If we must repair your chains attached to you then I thought I should come have a look for myself. Do you have means to withstand the great heat of the forge? |
| dragor_shadowfury06-15-07, 04:23 AM | "Greeting forgemaster Saran. I am honored by your decision to attend to me personally. With all due respects, it is not wizard but duskblade and channeler. Withstanding the heat of your forge will be no problem, I have some experience when it comes to that, serveral missions on the plane of fire has done that." Nerethos replies with all shows of respect and manners. |
| technomagi06-15-07, 09:10 PM | Saran waves to the prostrated spirit man to stand. My apologies duskblade/ channeler. This is Bartholemew Drezden, my artificer and mage. He will work on your chains. Please we will move to the forge now. The procession moves through the door out to the forge the heat of a blast furnace coming out of the openings into the hallway. The derro and spirit beings seem unaffected by the great heat as they work continually. Bartholemew takes a strange device with multicolored lights and pushes buttons on it. It hums softly the lights playing in patterns across its surface as he runs it along the length of the chain. He takes a grease stick and marks certain links as he does his analysis. When he finishes he says You are lucky this did not implode and destroy you. Saran watches this process with intense interest. The winged female looks decidedly bored. Shall we discuss payment? Saran asks with a sinister smile. Your chains move as if they had a life of their own into Saran's hand and he inspects them. He chants something as he looks at the links. The links of the chain begin to grow impossibly large and soon you can see cracks in the link he holds. You can also feel the added weight from the chain growth. That must have been some blast to crack the links in this way. |
| dragor_shadowfury06-16-07, 06:50 AM | Nerethos watches calmly as the chains are inspected, and completely ignore the extreme heat and added weigth of the chains. "Yes it was quite a blast, the mage yelled "Vengeful gaze of..." and then I didn't get the rest, I was kinda busy blocking this ray of energy dirceted at me, and returning the favor with a little channel of mine. Then he adresses Bartholemew "I belive that one of the main resons they didn't was that they are a part of me. They created a rather big and disturbing implosion in my remaining magics for the day..." |
| technomagi06-16-07, 08:36 AM | Bartholemew nods thoughtfully. The will of the man stronger than the will of the artifact. He rubs his chin. Yes I shall have to do a study on that. Bartholemew Saran warns sharply. He turns to Nerethos His mind tends to wander and his curiosity, well that is part of the reason he is here now. He can be quite rude when something captivates his interest. Saran chuckles. But he is a fine artificer. Bartholemew puts a cracked link into the fires of the forge holding it with his tongs and heats ittill it glows then he puts it on the anvil and goes to work. This is going to take some time. If you get tired I will have one of the slaves bring you a cot. He puts a strange contraption on his head that looks like something a gnome would design. It has various lenses that flip down and he inspects his work. He sighs. Definately going to take some time. ooc: sucks to be Nerethos at the moment. lol :) |
| dragor_shadowfury06-16-07, 09:42 AM | "It does not matter wether his mind and curiosity wander, and I did not catch the rudity, but of course, I am not well learned in manners" Nerethos then stands still, seemingly focusing for some time. Suddenly he mumble with a distant voice. "I might be a bit hard to get in contact with for the next few hours" |
| technomagi06-16-07, 02:00 PM | Esmalda approaches Nerethos letting one lovely finger trace up his arm. You are a Kyton? she asks. The entwined leaves of her garment move suggestively. Suddenly as she turns and walks back toward Saran she is wearing a knee length skirt with a long slit up one side and a blouse that is open in the back. The artificer looks up from his labors staring for a moment before returning to hammering away at the links of chain. |
| dragor_shadowfury06-16-07, 04:15 PM | Nerethos seems to wake up from a trance or something as Esmalda touch her. "Not really, but that is the devilkind I most resemble, I am unique." As Esmalda turns around, Nerethos can't help but stare for a few seconds, but he quickly turn down his eyes and look at the chains being repaired. |
| technomagi06-16-07, 04:40 PM | A few hours later Bartholemew looks up from the forge. done. Anything else you want done? enhancements? enchantments? Esmalda interrupts smiling. Perhaps I could tempt you somehow? Saran sits on top of an anvil looking very pleased. Now will that be cash, credit or your soul? He chuckles at his own joke. Esmalda glares at him. :ahem: |
| dragor_shadowfury06-16-07, 05:30 PM | "No enhancments will be necessary" Nerethos says to the artificer. Then he uses his telepathy to contact Esmalda personally, while keeping out any others attmpting to eavesdrop. "You are a great temptation as things be, but I do not wish to offend master Saran." "My soul will not be owned by anyone but myself, and of cash I have none, but I expect this to suffice" With those words he make a move of his hand, and a wand appear. To those with the ability to see arcane energies it is blinding to look at. |
| technomagi06-16-07, 05:36 PM | Saran takes the wand, one of his chains snaking out like a tentacle and holding it up for him to inspect. It glows of strong magic. What is it? |
| dragor_shadowfury06-16-07, 05:39 PM | "I do not know its exact nature, but it is able to store magic power, open and close gates to almost anywhere, and it is an anathema to good outsiders. I once slew an astral deva by touching it with the wand, not powers activated" |
| technomagi06-17-07, 08:56 PM | Bartholemew scans the wand with his strange device the array of lights going crazy. it will take me a while to unlock its secrets but it is a powerful artifact. It will make our enemies in celestia foam at the mouth I'm sure. Saran chuckles. Good it sounds like a fair trade. I can think of loads of fun we can with this. He offers his hand to Netheros. OOC:If shaitan wishes to explore the asteroid I can accomadate or we can just say that his sword gets delivered to him in a couple of weeks. |
| Dex06-19-07, 12:10 AM | OOC: I have a feeling he would, now that you mention it. In the middle of a meditation, Shaitan opens his eyes and casts a glowering look around. For a moment his flesh is partly melded to the ceiling, but he drops to the ground. He calls for the succubus he saw earlier. "Succubus? Are you there?" When she arrives, he asks her: "No disrespect to your master, but I find I am having difficulty meditating in my chambers. With his permission, I'd like to look for a more comfortable area to concentrate in. Would you be able to show me where to begin?" |
| technomagi06-19-07, 09:08 PM | The succubus cannot come in person though she can communicate with you telepathically. (She is imprisoned physically and magically to the wall at the entrance.) Yes, I am here. her voice sounds sad and bored at the same time. You might enjoy meditating at the monastery in the garden better. I will send you a guide. Shortly a female figure comes to your chambers. She has elven features but seems a bit to tall around 6'3". She is still thin and graceful. There is a scarf tied around her face completely hiding her eyes and each of her hands possesses six fingers. Greetings I am Whisp. I was sent to guide you. |
| Dex06-20-07, 07:09 AM | "Can you show me to the gardens? I am having trouble easing my mind." Shaitan says to her. |
| technomagi06-20-07, 07:40 PM | Whisp walks you through a series of tunnels out to the garden. When you first leave the volcanoe there is no vegetation. It looks burnt and blasted. Ash covers everything and horrid rats scatter to hide beneath rocks. You walk for some time though a lush jungle springs up ahead. This is the garden. Whisp informs you. She points off in the direction of a pyramid top poking above the tree line. That is the monastery run by master Killikuuk. You are not standing there for long before the ground begins to tremble. A herd of lizard like creatures break out of the tree line in a hurry. |
| dragor_shadowfury06-21-07, 11:33 AM | Nerethos shake Saran's hand. "It was a pleasure doing business with you master Saran. Maybe we can do business again some time. I happen to be entwined in the turnament right now, but later I might be available for a trip to celestia to... clean up in the archon herds." |
| technomagi06-22-07, 06:19 PM | That sounds like fun Saran says to Nerethos accepting his hand. I have a little something in mind for the Abyss soon you might want in on. I am thinking of mounting an offensive against a particular target. |
| Dex06-23-07, 04:23 AM | Shaitan expresses interest in meeting Master Killikuuk. "What is this master Killikuuk a master of? Is it a martial arts school? |
| dragor_shadowfury06-23-07, 06:03 AM | "What happen may I ask, to be the target?" |
| technomagi06-23-07, 11:05 AM | Whisp nods in affirmation to Shaitan's question. yes, master Kilikuuk is a teacher as well as a source of sancuary. He asks no questions so long as the rules of the monastery are honored. He is not always in agreement with Master Saran, but they tolerate each other. |
| technomagi06-23-07, 02:36 PM | Saran laughs evilly I want to capture Jubilex in this. He holds up a tiny cubical box for Nerethos to inspect, which he produces from his pouch. It is covered in magical runes and gives off a blindingly powerful aura of magic. And with his "help" I intend to force a little order onto the abyss. |
| dragor_shadowfury06-23-07, 02:48 PM | "An interesting and devilish plan indeed. It would be an honor to be among those concidered for the job." |
| technomagi06-24-07, 05:55 PM | Yes and I believe that the item you just put into my hands will make this possible now. Saran grins. |
| lunoc06-29-07, 09:58 PM | after tearing at the archon outside for a wile lunoc enters walking close to the chained up demon. speaking telepathically "are you for sale? lunoc grins |
| technomagi06-30-07, 10:17 AM | You would have to ask Master Saran. she says. He has sentenced me to a 1000 years of customer service. He seems to take great joy in seeing me suffer. |
| lunoc06-30-07, 04:13 PM | "ill see what i can do" lunoc examines a chain "but in the meantime, i need two things. i need some sort of amulet to make my gates stronger. and i need armor, light and strong and resistant to magic. it should be able to change shape at my option." lunoc says to the demon softly "whatever the cost, i can pay" |
| technomagi06-30-07, 08:31 PM | She looks up into the darkness. The amulet may take some time. Research he says. The armor sounds much like Esmalda's armor that she wears. Would you like to see it to see if it is what you have in mind? |
| lunoc06-30-07, 08:43 PM | "very well" lunoc says |
| technomagi07-01-07, 07:38 AM | Esmalda glides down in a lazy circle out of the darkness. Her armor looks a little like Xena's, only modified to accomidate her wings. She lands without a sound and strolls over to lunoc almost like she is stalking him. As she moves the armor changes becoming a black dress with a slit up one leg. She holds out a bare arm for his inspection. try to cut my arm. she instructs him. |
| lunoc07-01-07, 02:52 PM | "i wish not to harm you" lunoc says with a bow "my chi blades are not to be trifled with, if i could perhaps borrow a mortal weapon?" |
| technomagi07-01-07, 04:13 PM | She laughs Afraid to hit a woman? I hope you don't show this much weakness on the field of battle. Still holds up a hand and a shiny scimitar appears in it. She tosses it to him.I've ripped many a heroes heart from his chest for giving me less of an advantage. There is contempt written on plainly on her face. |
| lunoc07-01-07, 07:57 PM | lunoc raises the blade and brings it down on her arm hard "i don't feel like invoking the wrath of sarran. but do not mistake my manners for mercy, insult me again and your mate wont be able to protect you...mam" lunoc says with cold forced respect and a small bow "I've killed many heroes for making the mistake of insulting me, even devils that call themselves women " |
| technomagi07-01-07, 11:06 PM | As the blade falls across her arm the cut of her garment changes. It suddenly has one long sleeve ending in a triangle across the back of her hand. You hear the unmistakable ring of metal striking metal. She smiles. Good, you have some fire. she says drawing close and running a hand gently down his cheek. Now feel the material with your hand. |
| lunoc07-02-07, 03:23 PM | lunoc feels the fabric with one hand |
| technomagi07-02-07, 08:02 PM | The fabric feels smooth as silk. Is that what you had in mind? she asks. |
| lunoc07-02-07, 09:10 PM | "yes, its perfect" lunoc says |
| technomagi07-02-07, 09:50 PM | She snaps her fingers and a semi-translucent human appears. This is Bartholemew Dresden. Bartholemew bows respectfully. He wants armor that is light, strong, resistant to magic and can be changed in its appearance. He also wants something that will make his gates stronger. He wants armor like yours? He raises an eyebrow. But your armor is an artifact, my lady. he protests. I've never seen you shrink from a challenge. Besides you don't have to recreate my armor just something that imitates some of its functions. He looks thoughtful. actually I have been puzzling that very thing for some time. I will need to review some of my notes. Now about the gates what effect are you looking for? |
| lunoc07-02-07, 10:01 PM | "im interested in employing a siphon bridge...never heard of it? oh well its an ancient technique. you see i open two small portals one to the negative energy plane one to the positive, a siphon bridge draws the energy into each other. it is the greatest source of energy known to exist only two creatures know the technique, including me. but my master exiled me before he taught me all of it. so the energy can be gated away, or blocked i want to prevent that" lunoc sniffs the air and looks around nervosly |
| technomagi07-03-07, 07:51 PM | I will need a demonstration. Bartholemew gets out a strange looking device with blinking multi-colored lights. and perhaps someplace safer as well. He says an incantation and suddenly the three of them are floating in limbo. He then quickly materializes a bit of limbo into solid ground for them to stand on. It is a thin sheet of something hard as stone. If you would be so kind as to perform this syphon bridge you speak of. Esmalda watches this all with intense interest the skirt of her outfit growing shorter and her neckline plunging suddenly. She smiles demurely. |
| lunoc07-03-07, 09:21 PM | lunoc breaths slowly, brings his hands to the air, extends his claws (witch pierce the air) and ripes two holes in the universe. one hole is pitch black, the other bright as the sun. he shouts "hóng xī guǎn!!!.....zhuó!!!" the energy flows into the damwulf. he turns himself into a living conduit for the massive reaction inside him as the opposed energy's collide. lunoc moves slowly to show how little of the power he is using but a blink after and he is standing with his arms at his sides. another and he is pointing forward. a beam of energy fires forth from his finger. it leaves hundreds of tears and rifts in its wake as it ravages space and gathers strength. it appears to be flying at Esmalda and is only a foot away when it suddenly arcs around her and continues. a few yards away it reaches full power and punches through the universe and many others at the same time, launching itself into the far realm, where it disappears from sight. a blasting voice speaks "that is the least powerful display i can create. my problem is that a clever mage would close the two rifts before i can draw energy from them i must prevent this" he suddenly appears next to Esmalda, speaking telepathically "what do you think of my fire now?" |
| technomagi07-03-07, 10:19 PM | She touches his arm flirtatiously smiling.Pretty hot stuff. Bartholemew all business carefully operates the device scanning the display without emotion. The lights whirl and change with the activity. Interesting. You say that your mentor has overcome this problem? It would really help if i could scan what he does different. He scratches his head. So much we don't know about magic. he mutters. your display may draw the attention of Githzerai or some other local denizen. Esmalda said. She snaps her fingers and they are back in the asteroid. They pose little threat but can be annoying. she explains. Saran wiped out a couple of Gith fortresses near here so they stay away. Bartholemew says examining the readout with interest. I wonder if a simple potion of heroism might not give you the extra control you need. |
| lunoc07-04-07, 11:14 AM | lunoc looks away from the enreis to speak to bartholomew "ha! my former master never shares his prize technique, since me. mian gou exists to destroy evil. as powerful as i am he defeated me and a powerful... friend, of mine in a mater of seconds. he turns back to the enreis grinning i wouldn't want him to hurt you. |
| technomagi07-04-07, 06:41 PM | Well I will research this gate spell. I make no promises. He rubs his chin thoughtfully. Before I can make the armor that you want I will need some things. The blood of a thousand dwarves to make the spell resistance. It will have to be fresh so you will need to bring captives and we will slay them when we need them. The heart and scales of a gold dragon. The older the dragon is the better your armor will protect you. The brain of a cerebrilith. I cannot allow you to have any of our derro at the moment they are working on a large order at the moment and they do a fair job of manufactuing simple magic weapons. |
| lunoc07-04-07, 11:06 PM | "cela-what? my followers will probably know where to get those things, does the heart and scales need to be fresh? i have some lying around somewhere. for the gates, the only flaw is that if the gates are closed it fails, for me anyway i need to make it nigh impossible to do that. " lunoc puts his hands together and says a phrase in a different language. his fur disappears and is replaced by clothing made of animal furs. he is now human, but retains his canines and shining green eyes. "unless, theres something else" he looks at the enreis "i will leave now" |
| technomagi07-04-07, 11:15 PM | Fresh would be better, but only the dwarve's blood needs be fresh, oh and a yeoman jelly. I'm not sure if I will need it but I may need an extra component to get the armor to bond with you. We will see after I make it. fare thee well Esmalda says with a smile. And have fun with your quest. He has given you a lot to track down. |
| lunoc07-04-07, 11:36 PM | "get inside, just don't get in his way" lunoc looks worried, and asks "can you telaport me outa here? hes here, right now!!! then get yourself to safety!" |
| lunoc07-05-07, 01:27 PM | suddenly a figurer is standing among them. he appears to be a old master of the eastern lands "mian gou" lunoc growls "i would talk with your master" says the man, ignoring lunoc "i will speak only with saran, or one who would speak for him" |
| technomagi07-05-07, 06:16 PM | He was with a customer. What is the nature of your business? Esmalda asks sweetly. |
| lunoc07-05-07, 06:28 PM | "can you speak for him devil? the figure continues to look strait forward |
| technomagi07-05-07, 08:55 PM | He can hear you through my thoughts so yes. |
| lunoc07-05-07, 09:53 PM | "very well, i challenge saran to a battle, if he would inform sorcen i will be waiting for him" |
| technomagi07-06-07, 06:56 PM | There is a whirr of chains, stone, fire and crumbling, falling rubble approaching down the hallway. Saran comes through an opening his yellow eyes glowing fiercely over the veil of chains that cover most of his head and face. You wish to challenge me? Saran asks his voice like the hiss of water striking hot metal. On what terms? And I guess the most important questions. Who are you? And why should I waste my time fighting you stranger? |
| lunoc07-06-07, 09:13 PM | i am the mian gou. i am a being older than you could imagine. if you wont fight me in the arena i shall fight you here, and there could be...casualties the man ,looks at Esmalda |
| technomagi07-06-07, 11:08 PM | Esmalda casts a minor illusion which makes her eyes and face look innocent and hides her small horns. She looks like an angel. Her outfit changes to purest white though the cut is still quite revealing. Thou wouldst harm a lady. she exclaims in an exasperated tone. Saran chuckles. Terms? Lets make this interesting. he circles Mian Gou waving his hand. Two comfortable chairs and a table appear. Unseen hands come bearing a glass of lemonaid and a pitcher. What do you want if you win this match? Saran takes a seat and the unseen hands bring him a drink. His appearance changes. Now he looks like a noble elf in expensive clothing. He looks very gentile sipping his glass of lemonaid. |
| lunoc07-07-07, 09:44 PM | lady does not apply to you, Esmalda, you disgust me as i can see you as what you are. terms? well i have 1. if i win you free your slaves. the spirit does not sit or take the lemonade he keeps his eyes locked on saran, wile lunoc cant keep his eyes off of Esmalda |
| technomagi07-08-07, 07:45 PM | You must realize that not all of the slave's here belong to me. Some are tortured souls on commisioned from Baator to work here because they had certain skills in life that could serve here. Their actions in life brought them to this end. Only Sorcen has the power to free them or they could somehow redeem themselves. Others those I have taken as prisoners of war and made slaves I can free if you win. If I win I want Restyn's Monument. I think that it would look very nice decorating the foyer here. Are these terms acceptable? Esmalda circles Mian Gou checking him out. You are a handsome one. I bet you've broken a few hearts throughout the centuries. |
| lunoc07-08-07, 11:50 PM | what is a restyn monument? your prisoners of war will be released, can i have your word? |
| technomagi07-09-07, 10:42 PM | Restyn's monument is in the middle of a small ruined fortress near scourgehold. It was erected there in honor of the warrior Restyn who died defending the fortress. It won't be easy to get. There is constant warfare all around the sight, but I believe you could do it. ooc:sorcen has given us the go to start in IC2 once we agree on terms. Also I got the idea for getting Restyn's monument out of the planar handbook. Restyn's last stand. |
| lunoc07-10-07, 05:56 PM | your terms are exeptable, devil. you shall soon see the power of the mian gou. the spirit turns and exits |
| technomagi07-10-07, 07:18 PM | http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=742069&page=15 sounds fun |
| pbs07-17-07, 11:53 PM | The portal flares to life out of the portal floats a golden masked skull jet black and carved with runes, engery bleeding out from the empty eye sockets and jawless mouth .the gate closes behide the demilich. Razeil moves down the path to the forge's enterance . when he reaches the hound archon he stops and, using magic cunning, reaches out and feels the strong curses and geas."interesting form of entertanment i shall return to take advantage later, but now i have more pressing maters to attind to." Raziel continues down the path to the enterance were a chained succubus waits and using telepathy in a chilling smoky voice "i wish to make use of your services, for which i can compensate with any form of payment ,i have need of a skilled articifer with creation forge experince, for a unique warforge project " Raziel's eye sockets flash blue ,and a small portal opens, and a long rolled parchment floats out and hovers in the air."my specifcation" |
| technomagi07-19-07, 08:21 PM | I will relay your message. the succubus says smiling. She stares up into the darkness for a moment. Master Saran and his artificer will arrive shortly. A few moments later a human spirit floats down and prostrates himself on the floor. All hail Saran Rahuul, Master of Chains.. Imps and lemures prostrate themselves as well. The succubus bows her head. A gold elf in black armor floats gently down shortly after. He is sipping from his favorite black goblet. Greetings and welcome to my humble demesnes. I am Saran Rahuul. He gestures for everyone to get up then motions indicating the human spirit. This is Bartholemew Dresden my artificer. |
| pbs07-19-07, 08:55 PM | Raziel floats to eye level with the devil. "ah... promt, i like that in an contractor " in a quite voice that seems to come from everywere at once like a wisper in a cave."please have your man go over these plans and determin wether he skilled enuf for the job. lest i continue my search." the floating skull turns to the rolled up parchment and nods slightly. the parchment unrolls and faces the devil and artifacer. The plans read The warforge brawler class fiendish gerillon series and a blueprint picters a large four armed brute. The depiction shows a small note in the margin. the note calls for the head to be removed and in its place a receptcal of sorts."the device will be used in the arena,so it must be contructed here in the plains, and of the finest materials avalible.i will be avaible for the addisional magical upgrades. by the way i witnesed some of your battel in the arena ,that was quite the display ,impressive." |
| technomagi07-21-07, 12:25 AM | Saran smiles thankyou He looks over the plans. You are planning on using this as a body for the arena? |
| Shiv_Aiba07-21-07, 01:17 AM | A wave of fleeting darkness flickers over the Asteroid Saran's Forge rests upon, eminating from the portal to Sorcen's Baator. The flicker of deepening shadow is so quick that very few notice... except at the forge itself, where the shadows stay dark. They darken still further, and pairs of white eye-slits open up in the darkest pores of Saran's Forge, watching what they will... Vice had arrived... and watched on in silence, never manifesting himself wholly into the Forge. The eyes pay particular attention to Saran and Raziel, as well as Dresden (looking upon him almost hungrily, though that's apparently to only a rare few). ooc: To help visualize, the eye-slits can come from just about any shadow. I wouldn't be surprised if Raziel spotted a pair of tiny white eye-slits dangling in the shadow of Saran's left ear-lobe. There are about a dozen in the room, so it's more an easter egg hunt than any natural phenomanon :ooc |
| pbs07-21-07, 09:34 AM | "aye that is my intention, in my travels have learn that my current form is indestructible so competing in the form is pointless however the body i have you construct will give my something to lose ,and spice thing up a bit......... " Razeil trails off for a moment and the skull turns slightly to the growing shadows"i believe you have a additional guest." |
| technomagi07-21-07, 08:47 PM | Yes, Saran says spotting the eyes in the shadows. I have seen this being watching me in the arena. I'm not sure what or who it is, but I can see its fingerprints on time. What do you want stranger? |
| pbs07-21-07, 09:29 PM | "it seems a little shy, though i am not one underestimate a shadow entity of any sort,"Raziel turns back to Saran."are you expecting an attack on your forge? i would hate for my project to be delayed." |
| Shiv_Aiba07-21-07, 10:02 PM | From one of the cripplingly dark shadows, a pack of lemures emerges frantically... and from the darkness... red lenin robes come fourth, billowing and oversized on a figure the size of a small child. It walks into the light, it's hood cast at an almost malevolent angle. It takes a seat, cross-legged, nods to Saran without a word... and folds it's arms. From the shadows around them all, a rasping whisper sounds... "We will speak when your guest has finished his business, Kyton." |
| pbs07-21-07, 10:30 PM | With that Raziel skull begins siething energy and ectoplasm, which drips out of the holes in the skull, down to the floor but instead of pooling the the translucent semi solid liquid fill into the form of a man,you get the image of a gelatinous cube in human form with a skull floating in the head."pardon me Shadow Vain (Raziel speaks of a title that may not even be used in this realm but it is respectfull and means master o the shadows)i will not take much more time."Raziel fully turns to regard the child like manifestation, and gives a curt nod.Raziel turns back to Saran and shall we continue. |
| Shiv_Aiba07-21-07, 11:20 PM | Vice remains seated, saying nothing more. |
| technomagi07-22-07, 09:55 AM | Saran looks over the plan and waves Bartholemew Dresden over. Something like an architects table appears and the roll the plans out. The two of them them bend over the plans. I think that we should make it out of adamatium like Seven Bart says looking almost happy and excited. (well about as close as a tortured soul can look to achieving those states.) Saran grins nodding Yes, and I think maybe add some clockwork strength enhancers to the arms and legs. I like this. Dresden says pointing to something on the page. Can you build it? Saran asks looking serious. Yes, I am confident that I can complete it. I may even have a couple improvements if Raziel doesn't mind some minor changes. He rubs his chin. Make a list of what you need so I can give him an estimate. Saran turns around and faces Raziel. How do you feel about some minor changes to design? We are thinking of making it out of adamantium and giving it a strength enhancement. |
| pbs07-22-07, 05:50 PM | Raziel regards the spirit"I agree with the material and strength enhancements, please feel free to expand the designs, though have artifacts and psionic crystals that i want included" |
| technomagi07-22-07, 07:29 PM | Bartholemew studys the plans and writes amazingly fast on a scroll of some kind. In fact his motions are often a blur difficult to follow. Raziel might notice that he has some kind of time dilation field erected around himself so that he completes his study of plans in weeks within the field but only a few minutes pass in the foyer. Suddenly Dresden turns around with a list and hands it to Saran. I have cross referenced what we have in stock, Master. Saran looks at the list nodding. He hands over a sheet to Raziel. This is a list of a few things that we need for construction. If you obtain them it will save some cost and probably time. There are two estimates one if you provide the materials and another if you want us to get them. |
| pbs07-22-07, 07:51 PM | Raziel tilts his head as he studies the time dilation Field makes mental note .He takes the sheet when Barth is finished as he reads off the item small portals open a the need material falls to the floor(some in raw ore and some as part of other items but all accounted for and more than asked for)" if this mess is an inconvenience i can summon my servant to cart this stuff for you. now the matter of payment. |
| technomagi07-22-07, 08:04 PM | That will not be necessary Saran says with a motion chains rip themselves from the walls forming into chain spiders with chain baskets on their backs. Their flexible appendages quickly pick upeverything and cart the materials off through the door. This will take two weeks. The warforged will have its own mind but you will be able to circumvent control. Remember it is like a child. It has the potential to learn much but will be inexperienced. You will have to teach it what you wish it to know. It is also important to know that it cannot heal like most organisms. If it is damaged then it must be repaired physically or magically. You can however teach it to repair itself or bring it back here for repairs. ooc: the power behind the time dilation field and the chain spiders appear to be spell like abilities, something done by an item or maybe psionic displays. There was no casting involved. Though it is certain that Saran created the spiders it is difficult to say who made the time dilation field. |
| pbs07-22-07, 08:22 PM | "Ah that is exactly why i chose a warforged and not a golem,i am glad to see we think along the same lines.i will return in two week as you say,i will leave this ecto construct here should you need me sooner it will stay out of the way and do as you command ,unless it conflicts with my orders"Raziel's skull pulls free of the gel man with a sickening smack.farewell devil. a small blue portal open in front of Razeil he floats though it and it closes behind him. Gel man stands there quietly (when no one is looking a pseudopod snakes out his body and grabs an imp drags it back to the main body pulls it in and begins digesting it) |
| technomagi07-23-07, 05:47 PM | Saran bids Raziel farewell and turns to Vice. Now how may I help you? |
| Shiv_Aiba07-23-07, 06:16 PM | Vice stands, casting his billowing hood away after Raziel departs, and watching Saran with an intense gaze. Suddenly, in his hands are his two blade whips... he tosses one of them to Dresden and watches the artificer, waiting to see his reaction. ooc: They have spell immunity, immunity to all typed of damage save fire, which it scores a resistance of 20 on. :ooc |
| pbs07-23-07, 06:23 PM | gel man moves away from the action, but locates itself roughly an equal distends from vice and the spirit |
| technomagi07-23-07, 06:59 PM | Dresden holds up his fist, the back of his guantlet up facing Vice and a blue shield appears. The whip is caught in it and hangs there in mid air making a buzzing and popping noise. Simultaneously another device on Dresden's person blinks with multi-colored lights. ooc: Dresden's device is scanning you and your weapons. Saran's Adamantium Chain appears in his hand and it snakes out impossibly long he snaps it audibly to get Vice's attention. To what do we owe such an honor? You stink of the Abyss so I can only assume that you are here over the blood war or on some Demon's business. Know this spirit you will either die or become another trophy for me to display. His question seems uncharacteristically calm considering that he is in battle. Mentally he sends out a summons. ooc: Saran's chain is an adamantium artifact indestructable and deadly. It is a viscious, keen weapon of wounding. |
| Shiv_Aiba07-23-07, 07:53 PM | Vice looks down at the chain with an almost bored expression... then looks up at Saran for a moment, considering him, but not acknowledging him at all. He turns to Dresden promptly. "So, what do you think?" |
| technomagi07-23-07, 09:57 PM | ooc: I edited what he says a little and refrained from attacking you. Saran is a little egotistical so he would probably monologue a little before trying to slay Vice. I said that he stinks of the Abyss because I figured living in Vogomor's fat would rub off on him a bit. He has been attacked by the Abyss before so it is a natural assumption. |
| dragor_shadowfury07-24-07, 10:31 AM | Suddenly Nerethos appear by the action, weapons ready in hands. "this seems like an oppertunity to demonstrate my capabilities before we discuss the trip to the upper planes" |
| technomagi07-24-07, 06:27 PM | Dresden says "I think you're f%$#&d. You got to be crazy attacking the forge. If you wanted a fight so badly you could have just challenged one of us to a match. Now you get the whole bee hive. Mentally he relays all the information aquired from his scan to Saran. Saran says to Nerethos. I appreciate the hand friend. Saran looks a little puzzled as he digests this information. You are a Haufoog. Aren't they usually the guardians of something? Abyssal assassin seems a little beneath your station. Esmalda gates in riding the shoulders of the great warforged titan Seven. She has a flaming sword in her hand and her eyes are glowing fiercely. ooc: You are real close to getting slammed by a whole lot of people. The sh!$ is about to hit the fan. |
| pbs07-24-07, 10:31 PM | gel man perks up and faces Seren and a reflection of a golden mask appears in the head"do not take this creature lightly it has the aura of many souls, and few weaknesses, use the construct if you desire i will arrive shortly, i can not have my project delayed"with That the image fades the gel man faces the entity. |
| Shiv_Aiba07-24-07, 11:17 PM | Finally, Vice turns his attention to Saran. He watches him quietly for a few moments... ponderous. He had thrown the sword for Dresden to Catch, not be perforated by... this was all turning out to be a rather humorous display... and so Vice let out an alien-sounding scoff, and then said quietly... "I came here to offer you business," Vice studies Saran even more closely... if that's even possible. The creature had an intense gaze. "...and I must admit, Kyton, paranoia becomes you. I come looking for someone to make me weapons of superior craft than my own... a task that your slave will tell you is much harder than it might appear." ooc: There's a 50% chance that Saran will react far more strongly to Vice's jibe about Paranoia than he normally would, as per Vice's impressionable nature. For instance, if his paranoia is very close to him as a strength, he might admire Vice for recognizing such strength... or if he regards it as a weakness, he might become intensely outraged, or simply back down. I leave the coin toss to you. :ooc |
| technomagi07-25-07, 08:15 PM | Saran stares off into space studying something. After a moment he turns his attention back to Vice. You have an interesting history and a stranger future. Saran shakes his head and smiles. He waves his hand and Seven steps back out of the room. His huge frame was making the space a little stuffy. Esmalda floats down and leans against him with familiarity. She slides her fingers playfully down his arm. Saran reaches his hand out to a deep shadow near him and grips it. Strangely he actually has a handful of shadow that he squeezes. Paranoia is a funny thing. If someone really is out to get you then it keeps you focused. It keeps you alive. If it is misplaced then it makes you look like a bafoon. I know that you travel with my enemy, I see your steps through time. Why should I help you? |
| Shiv_Aiba07-25-07, 08:39 PM | Vice doesn't even seem to notice that Saran had a little piece of him in his hands... infact, quite suttly, he seemed almost to regard the gesture as if Saran were playing right into the little creature's hands. "You know the compulsions of the blood war as well as any demon or devil... He demonstrates far more self-restraint than you... a testiment to your inferiority... something uncommon among devils, as you tend to show far more sense." Vice's words drip with venom... and then just as easily sound like the most honest ones spoken in Baator "But... if you can truly see into my past and future, then you're even more sure of just how valuable I am to you. I didn't come here to discuss Blood War ties... I can make it well worth your while to aid me... Three thousand souls, including three of your choice... are you interested?" ooc: if Saran's forsight is genuine, he'll know Vice's words ring true... if not, then we're in for quite an entertaining display. :ooc |
| technomagi07-25-07, 10:35 PM | ooc: Saran sees time as just another chain. Conceptual yes, but he can see events and follow one link to the next. The future is less certain but he can see the possibilities. Saran chuckles releasing that bit of shadow. He touched it more to demonstrate that he knew of Vice's vulnerabilitys few that they are. I give you credit spirit. You are very brave to come here the way you did, and then to insult me. You play a very calculated game with your words. Usually my gambit not one others play towards me. Still I am one to be interested in deals. I can see that you make a sincere offer but I want something else and I think that you may be just the one to pull this off. His cheshire grin shows that he has something very interesting in mind. |
| Shiv_Aiba07-25-07, 10:59 PM | "Oh... I do love how fiends try to take a superior tone with me... my offers are tentative, Kyton, so you shall hear me first... before I even think of your terms." Vice stands up, and the shadows swallow him for a moment, then he appears, naked, staring at Saran's hand where he had just been prodding the darkness. He looked up Saran's arm coldly, and then met his eyes with an almost crushing gaze. "The task requires four... One must enter my soulscape and disable Shiv Aiba's hold upon my last few powers... Dresden must also enter my Soulscape, and approach my true soul with a pair of Blade Whips vastly superior to my own, so that I might aquire weapons that suit what I have become. A third must go to Terisia City, enter The Dragon's Den, and retrieve a stone that means very... very much to me..." Vice walks back into the shadows... and then a dozen of his avatars fall to encircle Saran, each watching him coldly... "And you... Saran. You must aquire for me an audience with the Duke of Cania, Mephistophilese" |
| pbs07-26-07, 05:54 PM | a portal near the gel opens and Raziel floats in, hovers over to the gel man and as he enters the gel glides around the skull until fully enclosed."it is to bad that with all those souls that you did not absorb a personalty with some manners.but i have to admit that you are quite ambitious ,furthermore why should the Kyton release Shiv-Abia's hold on you. it seems to keep you quite docile. but i suppose you would not be a match for the Duke of Cania in your present conditionRaziel taunts looking at Vice as he speaks |
| technomagi07-26-07, 06:56 PM | Saran chuckles. Very ambitious indeed. He says looking at Raziel. He has a bored and exasperated look on his face. Now little shadow thing first you should know that I am not some toady to be ordered around. I am not some fool adventurer ready to run off on some fool quest. I love to make deals and when I do I make them fairly and I profit well. In your deal I see no profit. I am not in the business of collecting souls. I'm not some typical Kyton I have evolved beyond those limitations. Besides the hierarchy of Baator has changed and so have the rules. Mephistopheles isn't in Cania any longer he was deposed when Sorcen took over. I can have the weapon that you wish manufactured made, but I don't go on quests unless I feel like taking a vacation or I am seeing to my own machinations. The three souls of my choice is an intriguing offer, but only because I'm always looking for specialists to improve our services here. Now if you want to talk about a deal for making you a new blade whip I am willing to negotiate a fair price otherwise begone. |
| Shiv_Aiba07-26-07, 11:37 PM | The Haufoog doesn't pay attention to Raziel's jibes at all, focusing his attention on Saran completely... and as the Devil spoke, his mood changed abruptly, and intensely. "I didn't demand for you to toady about... disabling Shiv Aiba's bindings, Impressing my true soul, and retrieving my precious stone from the Dragon's Den are the tasks required to make the weapons Dresden forged me useful..." As he speaks, Vice's copies begin merging into one another. The one directly infront of Saran turns, and circles him, each visage of Vice melding into the one walking until he comes full circle, and turns to watch Saran again. "Shiv's bindings prevent me from aquiring any more souls, prevent me from using the spell fires I stole from her to their full extent, and also keep my True Soul incapacitated, and unable to improve upon me even in his death... When her efforts are stunted, we must impress my True Soul with Dresden's spectacular handy-work in order for him allow me to make the blades a part of me forever more, and dispose of these mundane things..." Vice brandishes one of his blade-whips with a sour expression in his eyes. He lets out a growl like a blazing fireplace... and his annoyance at the last part of the task was obvious... black and hissing Miasma suddenly rising from his cracked skin... "...finally, we must take the stone from the Dragon's Den and restore me from the crippled state you see before you... a being powerful enough to shake the planes to their foundations has placed a curse upon me worse than death by depriving me of what's in that stone... and there are oaths that I must obay that prevent me from ever returning to The Den" Vice was very open about all of this... his game of the usual disgusting tendancy to play hauty that he found popular among most fiends lost (and apparently worthless), he switched to his usual tactic, being cripplingly honest: acknowledging that Saran and Vice were equals, explaining his requirements in detail rather than playing the cryptic and condiscending ass, and so fourth...... but what he had to say next could be quite... dangerous. "And I asked you for an audience with the Duke of Cania... I truly care not who happens to rule... but hear me out. I am asking for more than what seems a limitlessly complicated job to forge me a couple of blade-whips... I am proposing that you restore me to my former power. I am a protector... I need something to protect. I thrive on taking the souls of my enemy... by aquiring the soul of an Arch-Devil... I can bind myself forever to the plane that he is bound to rule... and I can protect all of the hells from whomever might wish them harm." Vice looked up at Saran with a fierce passion burning in those stark white eyes... Saran would know that every word the Haufoog spoke was true. What the spirit was offering was essentially eternal dedication to the protection of Baator from all whom might wish it harm, One thousand souls, including three that could be extremely useful agents, depending on what Saran found in Vice's soul scape... and all of it to improving himself immesurably in the process. ooc: All of that coming off the top of my head... :ooc |
| pbs07-27-07, 05:26 PM | "Are you sure you not from the abiss..Raziel says knowing full well the true origin of the spirit.Vice's miasma swirling around the floor, where Raziel stands seem to be flowing into the ectoplasm the gel darkening as it climbs, pulsing fragments of energy from the the mask start swimming through his gelatinous body. Raziel crosses his arms, body language is showing boredom, as he takes in the over-the-top posturing and displays of shapshifting. |
| technomagi07-27-07, 07:22 PM | Do you realize that if you are successful in this you doom yourself to constant warfare? Baator is plagued incesantly by Threats from opposing planes. The blood war is only one of our problems. I am willing to discuss my terms with you now that you have been totally honest with me. Let us say that if you scratch my back I will scratch yours. Before I continue this discussion I wish to place a geas on each of you that you won't use this information to betray me or Baator. Saran summons up a chair for each of them to sit at and waves everyone to take a seat. Nerethos I have spoken to of this a little. |
| Shiv_Aiba07-27-07, 09:21 PM | Vice again ignores Raziel, and takes his seat, watching Saran. "My life is doomed to war, wherever I choose to place it... few lives are as interesting as playing Gaurdian to Baator..." Presently, Vice's red lenin and leather robes ooze out from his skin, and garb him baggily, as usual. He sits... and presently dozens of Vice's visages come from the shadows, all of them garbed as Vice... sitting cross-legged, and placing their weapons in their laps. They all watch Saran intently... "Alas... I can promise you no geas, not because I won't, but because you can't" VThe visage in the chair says. There is no hautiness, and while Vice doesn't bother to explain himself, Saran can tell just how true this is. (Immunities) |
| technomagi07-27-07, 09:31 PM | Then what oath can you give to gain my trust. he asks Vice. and to Raziel he turns and says and to you I think my plan will be of interest because I seek to prevent law from being overrun by chaos. I know this is something that is important to you so I offer you a chance to make a difference if you wish. If not then I ask that you not listen in on my plan. |
| pbs07-27-07, 10:04 PM | I am Quite willing to lend a hand in your venture forge master. I seek entertainment and i wish to gain power as all here do.Raziel having sampled the energies of the spirit relaxes, and looks right at vice"you believe i have no place here, and your right this is Seren's concern, But I believe you represent a threat and know this, I will stop you if it comes down to it. |
| Shiv_Aiba07-27-07, 10:09 PM | "The only oath I am allowed. I will take what I must to protect what is mine, whether either the former or the latter is given or not... I do not mean to be threatening... but that is what I-" At about this time, all but Saran are unable to hear what the Haufoog says. They see him lock his fingers and set his pointed chin upon them... see the delight in his eyes... but only Saran can hear what he says... however as Raziel speaks, Vice finally turns to him, his gaze cold. "You are a fool then... you have insulted me no end, so I suppose I am a threat... to you. You see evidence of Saran's forsight, and he obviously can see enough of me to know when I speak truth... to think of me as some kind of threat when plainly to someone superior to you I am not is an insult to he as well as I. You wish power... how wonderous. Take what you will... I want 'walls'.. and I want to protect them." ooc: Don't. Vice is ignoring Raz because thusfar he had been insulting. :ooc |
| technomagi07-27-07, 10:23 PM | There must be some other way. Saran mutters staring off into space for a moment looking a little disgusted. Suddenly he brightens. He begins to cast and as he does a tiny bb sized ball appears floating in the air it glows brightly and gives off an extreme amount of heat. As Saran continues to cast darkness envelopes the tiny ball. It is a very tiny ball. Saran reaches and takes it in his hand and offers it to Vice. If you will swallow this I will accept your oath. |
| Shiv_Aiba07-27-07, 10:43 PM | Vice takes the little pill-sized concentrated Geas and looks at it with some measure of curiosity... and swallows it, speaking his oath as he does so, "I promise to remain your loyal ally, should you provide me with what I have asked, and I you. Thus shall this Geas be sealed..." While Vice's words and feelings are genuine, it is plain that even this method of binding Vice is useless, as it dissipates completely, the Geas unable to bind itself to Vice at all. [[Knowledge Check The Planes or Arcana: DC 65]] While the Geas is completely useless on Vice... somewhere... Saran is almost sure he has bound 'something' to his will... but it is plainly 'not' the being before him |
| technomagi07-27-07, 10:52 PM | What you just swallowed was a seed. Saran explains. I placed the geas on the seed not on you. I knew that I could not bind you, but lets just say that the little seed will make your life miserable if you betray your oath. I doubt it would kill you but I can imagine the surprise of anyone within range of your shadow possession if it went off. It would be quite a display. Keep up your end and it will float harmlessly inside you indefinately. |
| Shiv_Aiba07-27-07, 11:06 PM | "Only if our oath is met, Kyton... n--" Suddenly, Vice stands, with all of the Avatars, and they all suddenly leap into the shadows... one pair of eyes remaining, watching Saran patiently. "Sorry... I've a mess to clean up..." |
| pbs07-27-07, 11:18 PM | Raziel laughs, confident in the fact that vice's threat hollow and ash, humorous even, nothing short of a god could even hope to end his life.because this your home and a matter that only you can judge Forge master i offer my apologies Raziel looks to the shadows into the eyes that remain.", you have garnered a measure of Seren's trust and therefore i shall rely on his wisdom on this matter. Raziel looks to Seren and nods his head. |
| technomagi07-30-07, 09:27 PM | Aye, and the same could be said of you Master Raziel. I know he cannot be trusted but my threat is real. He wouldn't be happy to lose his precious shadows. Now how may I secure your oath. A geas won't bind you either but you seem to have a thread of honor through your history. Esmalda moves over and gives Saran a kiss on the cheek. I wish to be excused. You may go. She summons a portal and steps through it managing to make the whole process very sensual. ooc: he hasn't really cast a geas at all. He has bound some type of creature in a form of stasis and placed some conditions on the spells keeping it in stasis. If you could somehow absorb that off of it then it would get released and make you life pretty uncomfortable. It is a creature of magical fire and light that most closely resembles a kind of plant. It feeds off shadow. Every shadow within range of your control would be infected by it and thus eliminated. If it was allowed to take root in your shadows it would take you a while to get rid of it. That is why I said that it would be quite a show. Imagine no shadows for a 2 mile radius around Vice whereever he went. It would make everyone uncomfortable but it would make him miserable. |
| pbs07-30-07, 09:33 PM | Raziel"you have my word. my resources are at your disposal. |
| pbs07-30-07, 09:47 PM | the swirling energies of the portal flash as Danka Smashfoot steps through, and processes down the path to the garden monastery completely avoiding the forge.he knocks at the entrance.he wares only light leather armor and caries only his dire mace, rings on his fingers and the Death mask clasp on his shirt."I am here to train under master killikuuk,if he is taking any new students on." |
| technomagi07-30-07, 09:56 PM | At the monastery there is only one girl. She looks a bit like an elf only to tall for she is over 6 ft in height and she has six elongated fingers on each hand. There is a bandanna tied around her eyes hiding them. She sits cross legged on the ground in the low walled garden playing a flute as you approach and the music is haunting and sad. Next to her the light plays through the water of a fountain of an angel spraying water from a bowl it is holding. As Danka approaches she puts down the flute and stands. I am Whisp. She says. I am also a student here. Master Killikuuk is not here at the moment but you are welcome to wait. It has been sometime since another student has been here. The Githzerai used to send warriors frequently to train but we haven't seen one in some time. |
| pbs07-30-07, 10:10 PM | Dank sets down his mace and rests on the step and prepares to wait on the master to arrive" greetings Whisp,i am Danka Smashfoot, herald of Raziel ,i take that to mean theres room for one more?" |
| Shiv_Aiba07-30-07, 11:51 PM | With a deepening of the shadows, Vice's presense strengthens within Saran's forge once more... but the tie is lax. Vice's presense seems to permeate the entire asteroid the Forge is based on, all at once... an alien rasp of high Infernal jargon seeps into Saran's mind... "I shall watch over this realm until you decide what is required of me." |
| technomagi07-31-07, 08:24 PM | Whisp smiles which almost makes her look pretty. She is rather plain looking as far as elven types go. I would welcome the company. How does your master feel about you spending all that extra time training when you got heralding to do? She jibes playfully pretending she is going to poke him with her flute. |
| pbs07-31-07, 09:36 PM | Danka smiles"A dead herald is no kind of herald at all. After Killikuuk was kind enough to spar with me, I saw that plain as day, being a kick a$$ fighter will only keep you alive so long here.... and i would overjoyed to keep you company".Danka replys with a wink |
| technomagi08-01-07, 08:10 PM | Saran satisfied that he can speak begins to unfold his plan. I feel that Baator is vulnerable right now. It is normal under the circumstances. We've had a change of command across the board and it takes time for everything and everyone to adjust to new leadership styles. Our biggest threat as always is the Abyss. What I want to do is give them something to keep them busy until Baator can readjust. The first step in my plan is to descend to The Pit and capture a powerful fiend called Jubilex. He is pretty much a mindless killing machine but I think that we can manage it. That is where Vice comes in. I want you to use your shadow travel and stealth abilities to deliver Jubilex to an as yet undisclosed location. He will of course go on a feeding frenzy that will be difficult to stop and a great shock. I will reveal the next step if we are successful in capturing the fiend. to Vice he says. While we are doing this Dresden will be forging your new weapons. Please let him know what you require. |
| Shiv_Aiba08-01-07, 09:37 PM | One of Vice's visages walks calmly out of a shadow to watch Dresden closely, wherever he is... and for some reason waits for the master artificer to speak first, taping a single claw-like finger against his hard, crecked skin... |
| pbs08-01-07, 10:56 PM | Raziel fixes his newly forged adamant eyes on Seren, giving the chain devil his full attention" Your plan is to 'capture' the slime lord, ....hummm...that is a quite the undertaking.i assume that a proper receptacle has already been crafted? i am intrigued.please continue. |
| technomagi08-02-07, 12:20 AM | He has been studying your weapon while Saran and Vice discussed everything. One of Vice's visages walks calmly out of a shadow to watch Dresden closely, wherever he is... and for some reason waits for the master artificer to speak first, taping a single claw-like finger against his hard, crecked skin... He looks up. These already possess strong enchantments. What do you have in mind? |
| technomagi08-02-07, 12:25 AM | Saran produces a puzzle box covered in strange runes. It gives off a powerful aura of magic. This will hold him for long enough to transport him. It is a Tesseract. It looks small but it contains an enormous amount of extradimensional space. He is probably powerful enough to break out given time but not smart enough to puzzle his way out which is the most expedient way. Raziel fixes his newly forged adamant eyes on Seren, giving the chain devil his full attention" Your plan is to 'capture' the slime lord, ....hummm...that is a quite the undertaking.i assume that a proper receptacle has already been crafted? i am intrigued.please continue. |
| Shiv_Aiba08-02-07, 01:37 AM | He has been studying your weapon while Saran and Vice discussed everything. He looks up. These already possess strong enchantments. What do you have in mind? "I want you to duplicate those same enchantments... and surpass them in whatever way you see fit... My true soul forged them intending that their wielder need never tune them or fear rust beasts and druids with a distaste for such powerful metals, even artificers seeking to understand his work... as you no doubt found the moment you tried to inspect them in detail... and he succeeded perfectly." As Vice spoke, he came over to take up the blade he had given Dresden, and shakes it vigorously, watching as it drops from it's usual short-swordesque state, tumbling against the floor in a heap of tangled chainwork. Vice slowly sifts through the design, tracing over the forge-work with a single finger, emphasizing every fine detail, every bariation in chain-link size and curve of the blade, spanning the full thirty feet the wip is capable of. Now the Master Artificer could see what any scans or inspections couldn't reveal... With finality, Vice focuses on Dresden again. "To impress my soul, you must merely surpass it... and I leave it up to you as to how best you might decide... however it strikes from the shadows... any paints, Void-stone, Onxytzia, any quality that can take advantage of my bonds with the plane of Shadow, as well as the spellfire that your master shall unlock to me in time, are things that I ask of you, if it is within your power... and I am almost certain it is." His manner seemed far different from when he had approached the Forge before... a brooding and shadowy ghost. Now he was eager to please, his eyes glowing with satisfaction... apparently he had already commited himself as if he was certain that, before the week was done with, he would be a Gaurdian of Baator... it was ambitious... and apparently kept him in the highest spirits he could attain. "So, what do you think?" He gives a casual sort of wave, his blade-whip in hand, and it neatly curls up into it's short sword state once more. Dresden can see plainly that there was no mechanism for the return, nor the extention of the weapon... it was all by virtue of Vice's raw will... |
| pbs08-02-07, 04:21 PM | "i suspect that Jubilex, when free, without fail, will lay waste to what ever plain he is transported to, it should be a place where we will have the advantage in battle. Is your goal to slay the fiend or to imprison him more permanently? of course there is the fact that you can't kill a fiend on any plane but it's own, obviously...i will compliment you, however, on your choice of target i highly doubt that there will be any retaliation from the abyssal lords. Raziel rambles on, as much thinking out loud, as to Seren. suddenly Raziel turns his head as if hearing something from behind"my pardons,i have a guest and must attend to him ,please continue, i will divide my conciseness.with that, one of Raziel's pitch black eyes began leaking dark matter that swallowed the masked skull when it cleared he was gone from the gel-man once again but this time leaving behind floating in the ectoplasm a single black orb. |
| technomagi08-04-07, 05:28 PM | Saran draws a rune and whispers to Raziel, whatever he did only Raziel can hear it. |
| technomagi08-04-07, 05:51 PM | Dresden nods thoughtfully. I have a few ideas. This will be an interesting endeavor. I learned a few things studying the Gythyanki and Gythzerai weaponsmithing that can enhance the shapechanging capabilities of the weapon, It would make it more versatile, and its power would increase with the power of your own will like a Gythyanki mindblade. As you open and discover new powers your weapon will improve, like unlocking your spellfire. Would a weapon subject to your imagination as well as your will be improvement enough? |
| technomagi08-04-07, 05:53 PM | ooc:I need someone to play our Abyssal opponent for this mission. Does anyone have any ideas? |
| technomagi08-04-07, 06:06 PM | Killikuuk strolls down the path to the monastery sensing instantly that he has company. As he enters the garden area he finds Whisp talking to Danka. Greetings Danka. I see that your journey has brought you now to my doorstep. And you wish to become my student. He nods approvingly. |
| pbs08-04-07, 06:29 PM | Danka bows before Killikuuk "yes my friend, I have come to study your art.my master Raziel has given me a leave of absence to train." |
| pbs08-04-07, 07:01 PM | The gel-man's single black orb looks to Seren "my..my that is genus." perhaps you should ask epic or cog, someone should be willing. Raziel speaks up "how far along is the warforge i commissioned, also i have a proposal for you,a partnership of sorts, for my Grafts and Golem lab.i will need your services for the golem's infrastructurers, high end work,... cut you in for 50 % of the take on all golems.are you interested. |
| Shiv_Aiba08-05-07, 01:31 AM | Would a weapon subject to your imagination as well as your will be improvement enough? "You know my secrets, you tell me..." The words came coldly, and with narrowed eyes. He brightened though after a few moments, and returned to his cheerful demeanor. "As I said, whatever is within your power is worth persuing. If you feel I can benefit from the Githcrafts, then by all means, take their lessons to heart with this project. I leave any creative details up to you." |
| technomagi08-05-07, 12:08 PM | ooc: I have added a thread for Killikuuk's Monastery |
| technomagi08-05-07, 12:23 PM | Saran replies They have finished the infrastructure and are making the adamantium plates for the outside. He considers your proposal for a few seconds. Yes, I believe I would be interested in that, and I think that Esmalda may even be able to help you with some of the summoning and binding. Plus she is very nice to have around. Dresden says Your present design doesn't allow for growth while you personally will always grow in power as you take in souls and age. Eventually no matter what weapon no matter how powerful, I could see it becoming useless to you in time. I am also thinking of giving it a chameleon like function. It will be virtually invisible until you attack with it and adding psicrystals to the hilts. They will develop their own intellect and be capable of fighting independent of you. Anyway, I have work to do. Dresden turns to his forge and a couple of wierd little worker homonculous pop out of cubby holes with masterwork tools in hand to attend him. Before long he has the forge stoked and is hammering away. |
| dragor_shadowfury08-05-07, 12:46 PM | Nerethos who has been a silent listener while Saran and the others discussed the plan, now he spoke though. "If I can be of service in the matter at hand I am willing to aid in the task. I would like a reward tough, as I suppose you understand. I am willing to be the bait used to lure Jubilex given proper payment, and whatever oozes might find me before their master will most certainly find their end at my hand." |
| pbs08-05-07, 01:08 PM | excellent, in that case i need two huge endoskeletons made from adamantine, name your price and i will charge the customer double, for our first joint comission.Esmalda is more than welcome in my domain.Raziel turns to the wall in the room, as he does blue lightning shoot out of the Black orb floating in the ectoplasmic construction, and hits the wall there is no thunder clap or damage to the wall. The lightning seem to be constructing a object.a large circular disk covered in runes and inlaid designs, forms just before the wall. this is a gateway to Inne'rubon, it is not attached to the floor or wall so you can move to a more covenant location. a gift. |
| technomagi08-06-07, 05:56 PM | the required time passes and your orders are presented. For Raziel the four armed adamantine warforged comes in following Esmalda. For Vice Dresden comes out carrying two new whips of superior design. A cold Iron short sword is delivered to Shaitan at his temporary quarters. |
| technomagi08-06-07, 08:36 PM | Saran has his workers start on the huge endoskeletons. |
| lunoc08-09-07, 06:02 PM | mian gou appears before sarran, along with the monument heres your trophy, let it be a reminder to you that we have a score to settle. |
| technomagi08-10-07, 05:49 PM | As Mian gou arrives imps and lemures flee the area. mian gou appears before sarran, along with the monument heres your trophy, let it be a reminder to you that we have a score to settle. "So much anger, so much hate. Can you feel it tugging at you even now? Tell me did you bother to read the inscription on the monument." Saran says leaning against it on one arm and highlighting it with a wave of his hand. As he touches it smoke begins rising from his arm but he pays it no heed. "There is no island so small that it is not worth defending. Inch by inch is how evil subverts the pure heart." Restyn was a planetar that worshipped Heronious. She and her angels defended her small fortress from Hextor for eons before it was finally overrun by the evil hordes. As he says this the Hound Archon that was chained outside walks in. He is still filthy but he now has a large sword strapped to his back. He looks at Mian Gou with disgust. You have done a great evil this day spirit. he says then he walks out the portal. |
| pbs08-10-07, 06:49 PM | the ectoplasmic contract whom has been waiting in the corner of the room stands up sharply and start walking down the corridor, making its past the forge and back to the portal it activates and gel-man steps trough. |
| lunoc08-10-07, 09:34 PM | never break an oath. that is my code. if i broke it, i would not even be fit to bow before my son. think of it as a rental, i will be back for it. |
| technomagi08-11-07, 08:54 AM | Saran shrugs. Just happens that hound archon's sentence was up. I wonder how Celestia is going to respond to your impropriety. You are starting down a dark path Mian Gou, giving in to all that anger and hatred. I wonder how many of the angels guarding it that you had to kill to take it. ooc: You have no idea the power of the dark side. insert heavy breathing here. |
| technomagi08-14-07, 08:23 PM | ooc: I have up the battle thread and Epicevokerelf is going to play the abyssal side of our mission. |
| lunoc08-14-07, 10:41 PM | i killed no one! im much to old to start down any path, i feel no hatred, not to you or anyone. as he turns to leave a young girl pushes past him. she is rather attractive for one her age. she has black hair purple eyes and wears black leather clothes. she walks fearfully over to sarran, with many floating bags of gold following her. she bows before sarran. "i...i would speak to you on behalf of l-lord xalax" |
| technomagi08-15-07, 06:55 PM | Saran looks at the pretty young lady. "You may speak. What does Lord Xalax wish from this humble merchant of arms and equipment." |
| lunoc08-16-07, 02:11 PM | he proposes an partership. his forges have recently been destroyed. he knows of the great arms this place produces, and wants to trade. all the riches you could want, along with the personal protection of lord xalax, for a monthly shipment of enchanted arms and armor. this gold is to show his good will. she motions toward the gold |
| technomagi08-16-07, 07:05 PM | Saran considers the offer. With the blood wars more or less having an armistice he isn't shipping as many weapons to the front. He does some mental calculations to see how the new customer might affect a sudden surge on the blood wars front. How many weapons is Lord Xalax looking for every month? And who exactly is he? |
| lunoc08-16-07, 07:47 PM | at least 10000 weapons per month, his armies number in the millions. he is...he is... she cries out in pain and black light shines out of her eyes and mouth. a projection in the form of a jet black devil coelesses in midair. i am lord xalax. the girl reacts painfully with every word. i send my armies into the dark planes to concur. i do battle with the denisens of the far realm. ive heard of you, sarran, youve made quite a life for yourself i must say. the girl is writhing but xalax seems not to care in the slightest |
| technomagi08-18-07, 04:00 PM | Saran nods. Very well, I can manage that many weapons a month. I will get my dwarves started on your order right away. He bows slightly to the projection. As if on cue the forge fires blow up hotter and the busy pounding of hammers can be heard in the background. I will of course need a way to make the delivery. |
| lunoc08-18-07, 04:07 PM | xalax waves a hand, and a portal opens to his fortress. i must go, i feel somthing is amiss in lord sorcen's domain. and with that the projection dissapears. |
| pbs09-14-07, 06:10 AM | :bump: |
| dragor_shadowfury09-14-07, 07:26 AM | Jack appear in the entrance room of the forge. There is no sound or flash or anything, he just is there. His skin is sore with what looks like severe burns, and his face shows an expression of pain. "Can I see the Forgemaster?" |
| technomagi09-14-07, 07:40 PM | The succubus chained against the wall says to Jack. "Greetings, sir. How may we help you?" |
| dragor_shadowfury09-15-07, 05:59 AM | Jack's eyes quickly run up and down the succubus. "Maybe some other time" he thinks. "I need to speak tot he forgemaster or whoever is in charge" |
| technomagi09-15-07, 05:00 PM | The succubus says, "I can relay your requests to the forgemaster. What would you like me to ask him?" She stares up in the darkness and things move up there. |
| dragor_shadowfury09-16-07, 02:24 AM | "I wish to speak to him about business matters that are too important to leave at the hands of anyone but the forgemaster. It concerns technology that is more then a thousand years ahead of anything else here" |
| technomagi09-16-07, 08:36 PM | She looks up and her face goes into a frown suddenly she screams and writhes in her chains. She sags unconcious. Glowing snakes fly down from the darkness slaying imps and lemures. They begin screaming and fleeing Saran drifts down glowing snakes springing from his hands and chasing the creatures down their tiny holes. He is wearing the appearance of a gold elf clad in black armor. The butt of an ornate rifle shows above one shoulder stashed in a holster and a chain is wrapped over his shoulder. "Greetings, I am Saran. Master of chains and the forge master here." |
| dragor_shadowfury09-17-07, 02:43 AM | Jack looks at the snakes and the other effects without being impressed at all. "Greetings Saran, I am Jack, renegade kybrid soldier created by the core halfway through the UI project... Just in case you know of it. My business concerns some of the technology of my world and era as well as the magic of your. It boils down to me wanting to get some magic enhancments o my defenses and offenses and my willingness to sell some advanced technology for it. Also I think an alliance could be well for us, I can create many a useful weapon, defence or soldier, if you then ue your magic to enhance them we can create a migth the like none has seen before." |
| technomagi09-18-07, 10:24 PM | Saran nods "Yes, this sounds like something we can help one another with. Perhaps you could give a demonstration. " |
| dragor_shadowfury09-19-07, 02:07 AM | Without a word, Jack begins to do something with his pocket. From it he pulls a small pistol. "This is a quite simple weapon actually, but cheap and effective against infantery. It fires a could of needles with every shot and it is very easy to use even for an untrained man. The drawback is that the range is somewhat limited." He then pulls forth a large ham, probably from a dire boar and throw it into the air. Just before it hits the ground Jack fires the pistol with the result that the ham is blown to pieces, not one bigger than a finger. Jack then begins to search for something else in his pocket. |
| technomagi09-19-07, 10:08 PM | Saran nods thoughtfully. I have seen similar devices before. There is a lich down here that uses something called a gatling gun down here and I own a rifle that I have augmented with my own magics. I can see an improved performance from the needler over say a gunpowder propelled weapon of similar size. He pulls the rifle from the holster on his back. The butt is carved ebony and the workmanship is beautiful and terrible. It is a depiction of a battle in the blood wars. The barrel is long and has adjustable sights. It appears to be a cartridge design with a bolt action lever on one side. Saran puts the butt against his shoulder and aims at one wall about 50 ft away. He pulls the trigger and a 20 ft diameter fireball engulfs the wall melting stone and charring everything black. "I'm sure this weapon is primitive by your standards but it serves as an example of what improvements magic can make to a gun. Anyone with a small amount of training can use this device though they would not have the versatility of someone trained in the arts. |
| dragor_shadowfury09-20-07, 02:35 AM | "In other words, the fleschet gun would be a quite scary weapon seen from mortal eyes if we supplied it with magic enhancements. It can be gotten as a rifle as well, and then both range and firepower is increased. Now for the next part of the show, the slicer rifle." Jack pulls out a weapon about half as long as an arm, primarily made from black plastic. Strangely it seems to be too big for his pocket. He pushes a few buttons on the side of it and then he places a pillar on the floor. He activates the rifle and a blue beam about about 15 feet long emerge from the rifle, disappearing after 15 feet as if it was never there. He misses the pillar by a few inches, but it seems to be on purpose. He moves the rifle to the right, slicing the pillar in two. The cut is so clear though that he has to go and push the part that had been cut off before it falls off. "Of course the beam length can be adjusted, the minimum length is 2 inches and the maximum is half a mile" |
| technomagi09-20-07, 07:04 PM | "Now that is impressive" Saran says a hundred uses for the device coming to mind. "For the flechete I can see turning it into a kind of portable artillary weapon. Of course the more range we can give to any artillary the better and making it easy to use will make it deadly. For this last this slicing beam I can see mounting it on constructs as a deadly use and of course giving any weapon magical enhancements makes them useful against things which can only be harmed by magic. Imagine a kind of magical sentry armed with that device. It would be able to tell friend from foe and would activate a perimeter sweep if enemies approached." |
| dragor_shadowfury09-21-07, 02:19 AM | "And its very effective on the battlefield as well, a trained warrior can take out several hundreds of enemy soldiers on his own if they haven't gotten proper defenses. Then we have the plasma rifle. He pulls out a rifle about as long as his leg, mostly made of plastic and fitted with a scope. "Its a hard hitting and very precise weapon and the range is tremendous. Elite soldiers are known to take out opponents on the planet when shooting from its moon. It require some training to be effective though. He shoots three holes in the pillar before he turns around and shoot through the window hitting an imp on several miles distance. "The scope is self adjusting, using a small laser beam to estimate the distance and readjust itself to be precise, it can also magnify light so that you can see perfectly well through it at night or in outer space, lightyears from the nearest star." |
| gordonml09-21-07, 08:45 PM | A flickering image of a cat with red bat wings appears in mid air and falls on his face. It even happens when this form isn't real. Great. Shadewing's illusion "stands" up Are there any weapons here that could fit my size? Preferrably a dagger so I can throw it. And i'd feel like I had a sword. I can pay in Jewels, a strange gem from my world that pulsates like it is a living thing, giving of an eerey colored light. He holds out a Jewel about three times the size of his own head. They are rarer than diamonds, only found in my home world |
| technomagi09-21-07, 09:33 PM | To Jack he says "very impressive. I will get my artificer to work on these and see what improvements that can be made. What improvements have been made with constructs? " Then he turns to the small cat being. "Yes, we can customize weapons to your anatomy." |
| dragor_shadowfury09-22-07, 02:10 PM | "Well, actually I were not done with the weapons, I had only been through the basis infantry weapon and the sniper's favorite, I have more specialized weapons and more powerful ones in store as well. For constructs I do not posses a sample, and my resources had been limited too much to create one. I could of course go with demonstrating some of my own capabilities, but I know that the power of my creations would not match me." |
| technomagi09-25-07, 07:26 PM | Indeed I had thought as much but I believe that we should take the rest of your demonstration to a more private local. Saran summons Dresden and has him attend to small cat like being. He then teleports Jack and himself to a different location. They are in a large warehouse like structure and they stand in front of a regiment of warforged. The warforged are performing drills with admirable precision. Before the uneasy truce was called with our enemy plane I was given the task of creating a new kind of shock troops to take on the Abyssal forces. I have not wasted our time of peace. The hellforged are superior to the original creations made on a planet called Eberron. They have been outfitted with some of our best magical armaments and further outfitted with your technological weaponry they would be formidable indeed. These things have no need for sleep or provisions. They don't get tired or feel pain or have emotions. They are intelligent and anylitical. I overcame many of the shortcomings of their original conterparts. This batch are magically self-repairing which functions similar to regeneration. They can have devices outfitted right into their structures to avoid excess equipment. |
| technomagi09-25-07, 07:27 PM | Dresden gets out a catalog of drawings for the small being and begins showing him ideas for weapons that can be customized to his size. |
| dragor_shadowfury09-26-07, 03:14 AM | "Useful indeed, but all of that can be provided by the technology I have concerning constructs. For control I am limited to class 22 AIs, 3 levels below the Core average and 5 below my own... But still way beyond human capabilities. I do though think it will be difficult to incorporate some of the construct technology improvements into already made constructs. Things like a Carbonite2 frame cannot be put onto a construct, but they can be reinforced with Carbonite2. For regeneration, repair nanites does the trick. My suggestion is to use these until a larger force of kybrids or mechs have been constructed. Kybrids are the pinnacle of construct technology. They look like humans but are fitted with organic technological equipment that enable them to generate a protective energy field. They have a large amount of sensors, their bone structure is Carbonite2, which is more durable than adamantine. They commend a large amount of incorporated concealed weapons and if we create a communication center we can have the AIs controlling them to be elsewhere so that we doesn't need to create a new one if a kybrid falls. The downside if of course that its a time consuming and costly process to create them. Mechs are cheaper and quicker to create but they are not as powerful and they cannot be used for undercover missions. They are made from Carbonite1 and incorporates a large amount of heavy weaponry that cannot be incorporated in kybrids for discretionary reasons. They cannot be fit with as powerful an AI though and they are slower and have less maneuverability. |
| technomagi09-27-07, 06:17 PM | It could be that combining the two methods might make a more powerful magic/ technological hybrid construct. Warforged are self aware. Have any technologies managed that? |
| dragor_shadowfury09-27-07, 06:50 PM | "Yes, all AIs of level 5 or above are self aware. Level 8 is human average. Every level is double the prior level." |
| technomagi09-29-07, 07:44 PM | Then we shall have to see what happens when we combine these intelligences. Let me show you my warforged Titan. He walks down to the end of the warehouse where Seven stands. His Adamantium plating gleams with fresh polish and some dwarves on scaffolding are outfitting some new equipment to the houdah on his shoulders. Seven is designed to smash a large force with minimal resource commitment. He has nearly indestructable armor plating and hidden weapons. He has a troop carrier on his back which has been outfitted with weopons. You can put some mages in there with regular troops and turn a battle around fast. I have been thinking of giving him flight capabilities. His intelligence is lacking but he is completely fearless. |
| dragor_shadowfury09-30-07, 04:03 AM | "I am aware that it is very unlikly to not have its durability empowered by magic, but that material is not something to brag too much about, a few metric tons of that would endure shorter agains a kybrid than a cardboard box in a hailstorm. A mech would need a little more time to destroy it... it would be about the same time as the cardboard box." |
| technomagi09-30-07, 02:28 PM | "Well then it sounds like we have a lot to teach one another." |
| dragor_shadowfury09-30-07, 04:18 PM | "Indeed it does. It would be a shame to destroy him, but if we gave him a carbonite2 armor and a shield emitter, then I believe that should make him pretty though" |
| technomagi10-04-07, 08:35 PM | Good this is what I propose. I would like to get my artificer Dresden training in knowledge of these technologies. Once that is done he will be better able to determine the best ways to combine the tequniques. Meanwhile bring what you may to be magically enhanced and we will do it. I would also like to take this hellforged titan here and upgrade him with your suggestions. Carbon2 armor and a shield emitter I think putting plasma weapons and some modern artillery in his troop carrier. Perhaps we could outfit him like a mech. He would have an advantage over a piloted machine of equal size I think thus outfitted. |
| dragor_shadowfury10-05-07, 03:05 AM | "Part of what I wish magically enchanted is in fact my own body so while that is done I will be unable to work on the titan. And when speaking of modern artillery, we never got to that in the weapon demonstration." |
| technomagi10-05-07, 07:35 PM | "True. We will need to go to the surface to do your artillary demonstration. Perhaps you can destroy some asteroids or we could eradicate a Gyth fortress. That sounds fun don't you think. Then we can get to work on your body." |
| dragor_shadowfury10-06-07, 06:46 PM | "Sounds just fine, but not too difficult. A ray of solid energy tends to wreck some havoc." |
| technomagi10-07-07, 02:46 PM | Saran takes them to the surface and things can be seen floating about in limbo. He points off into the distance at beyond unaided human sight. It could be seen with a telescope. "There is a small gith colony off in the distance there. It isn't much, just a village on a floating island. How much range does your weapon have." |
| dragor_shadowfury10-07-07, 03:46 PM | Jack sees the settlement with ease, thanks to his genetically and nanotechnically improved sight. He pulls forth a rifle the size of his own torso. "This one carry infantry versions of all of the artillery type weapons. Those that I will mount on your titan will be more powerful but I think this one will do the trick for the presentation. And it has plenty of range... I once picked down a courier ship on two AU distance. First show is the LP lance. Semisolid energy that burn and crush stuff pretty hardcore." He fires the weapon and a 3 inches wide ray of red energy emerge from the rifle and scythe outwards toward the settlement. It burns right through buildings and rock as if it was thin air, leaving rivers of molten rock behind. "This cause massive damage in a small area, mostly useful against other vehicles and to break down shields. It can also be an effective anti infantry weapon if fired on nearby water. Now the scatter bolt." He fires a small metal orb. It flies through a building, the kinetic energy causing massive damage, before it explodes and showers the building rubble in half-molten metal. "Virtually impossible to miss with and effective against everything without a shield. Now the antimatter missiles." He fire a large metal tube from the rifle which first cause an implosion as the antimatter annihilates, and then a large explosion as the energy in the consumed matter is unleashed. "You don't get bigger boom compared to mass than from antimatter, simple and easy. Finally the death-rays." He pulls the trigger but nothing seems to happen. After a few seconds the effect become visible though, as the few gith that had managed to escape before the explosion simply cease living as if the Grim Reaper had swept across. "There's also the stahee system. It simply make electronics cease to function... maybe an anti-magic version could be made." |
| technomagi10-10-07, 06:52 PM | Saran laughs then begins casting a spell. Off in the distance all of the gith climb back to their feet. There is a shimmer and the village looks much the same as it did a few moments before. "I used a little necromancy and a simple illusion on the village. Any future visitors will find a nasty surprise." He takes them off to Dresden's lab. There are all sort of magical and technological devices in the lab. You can quickly tell that Dresden has already been at work exploring hybrid technomagical devices. It would seem that most of what he has is primitive by your standards. Breech loading, Powder propellent firearms with rifled barrels. Electronics operating off relays and vacuum tubes and of course magic. Dresden pulls out his scanner and begins analyzing you. "The technology on his person is centuries ahead of anything I've seen or developed." As he says this illusory holographs of nanobots, cybernetic enhancements and weaponry begin popping up in the air. "We can improve him still though." Saran says. |
| munchlord10-11-07, 02:15 AM | "If it would be any of use, I can get you straight to the parts to be enhanced as we go. In any case I will show my build in weapons." He then extend long black claws and teeth. Then his flesh on his arms fares up and disappear, revealing black bones with razor sharp cutting edges on the inside and outside. Finally a small length of wire so thin it would be indiscernible to the eye if Jack didn't heat it up to make it shred light emerge from each of his wrists. |
