| Joan02-29-04, 04:24 PM | Greetings. This small adventure is something I have planned for maybe one week. Simply, I'd like the players to present their characters here, to tell of their classes, alignments, races, history, religion, beliefs, motivations, demeanors, etc. Nothing is mandatory, but the more I have, the merrier I get. When enough players will have joined, Joan will make a pleasure to tell them why the Tyrran church needs mercenaries so much. I am conscious that I offered almost no ledge to start in the thread. As a first post, you may write how your character heard of that story, why he decided to came, what Joan sees when looking at him/her, anything will do. My only demand is that the players who enter the game post full, dense posts. I'd prefer not to have to deal with two-liners on a constant basis, nor to face unidimensionnal characters, best described as a "NE elf rogue". I'd like them to be fully fleshed out, and ready to have dense conversations between players. Ithink the value of a game comes from the other characters and their richness, rather than the quest itself. (the which obviously doesn't mean I'll not try to do my best.) Thank you for joining, and be welcome. |
| Zanovie02-29-04, 08:30 PM | heh this sounds like fun, and a good cahnce for me to start out with a new character, like ummm Zanovie :D. okay now here I go on telling about Zanovie and I must say I don't have a character sheet for him, and don't know how to creat one if one is needed:confused:. So I hope this is purly free form and no hard core D&D rules base in it. Zanovie is a wandering mercenary that seems to always be looking for a new job to endulge in. His elven haritage is noticeable when the hood of his gray robes is drawn from his head and the hair is moved from his pointed ears. His crimson tented eyes seem to behold knowledge of anchents, but his appearnce make him look not older then a youthful elf in his prim. No religion does he follow, only the drive for knowledge guids him. He also driven for the chance of money, though he doesn't come right out and says it. He seems well equiped for a mage, with a long sword straped to his belt along with a dagger, and a blacked staff with a vine like grasp on a emerald crystal at its tip. Each step his brown booted feet his staff taps along with it. His history is a mytery to even himself, because of his long studies it seems the knowledge of his own past is pushed out and replaced with other worldly knowledge. Well I hope that will do and hope more will show up. |

He spends much of his time teaching people about the truth in the Light, and trying to convert them. He is married to a lovely winged Elf named Aerie, and has two young children with her. One is a boy named Agudo Jr. and one is a girl named Aerial. Both are five years old. His recent history at this time is, “Headmaster” of a school humbly titled with the name…… (Agudo School of Light and Magic) Located in the Realm of Faerun; near Candlekeep, on the Sword Coast. The school has a Cathedral of Light, that teaches future good Clerics, in the arts of healing and wisdom. The Wizard part of the school teaches good magic, to those who seek knowledge of Light, and truth. But Agudo is often away traveling to many worlds, so that he may continue his research into the historical moments, of these far-flung places. His travels are financed by several important schools of thought, not just his own. Such as the Halfling Financial League and CladleKeep. He spends much of his time writing, in his never-ending books called… (History of the Realms by Agudo) “Also” (Agudo’s Travel guide to the Realms) As people can see, Agudo is very humble, but not with his name. Yet he shares copies of his books, to those schools who have helped in his travels; and to anyone who seeks truth in knowledge. As far as his early history, Agudo is very secretive about it. But he does say someday, he plans to write a book about it. |
| Joan03-02-04, 10:05 PM | Hi everyone. I just wished to warn you that I'll be away for two days, while my parents kidnap me away from my comfortable home. So, don't worry, I won't abandon the thread, I'm just elavinf for a few days. And newcomers are still welcome! |
| Agudo Archmage03-12-04, 01:36 AM | OOC what world is this story on? Just so I have an idea on how to travel :D |
| Joan03-12-04, 05:06 PM | Toril, Faerűn |
| Agudo Archmage03-13-04, 01:50 AM | If any of this is secret DM stuff just slap me down… Oh yes! Even though I have read your well thought and imaginative posts… I have Questions or two. Hurjil city or town? And where is it on Faerun? (I do have a large map of Faerun I cant seem to find these names.) The sea that Joan speaks of does it have a name? Where is the Ardennes forest? And as long as I am at it what city or town are we in? The reason why I am asking this stuff, is that Joan has asked us to find these places. It would help in my larger than life posts… to have some detail to add to my overly long posts as we all adventure there. |
| Joan03-13-04, 12:24 PM | Oops, I'm sorry, I misunderstood your question. First, it is normal that you can't find those names, because I invented them all on the fly. I'll try to find you a nearby location, so you can have a general direction of where you are. OK, you're in Sembia, more precisely in the town of Archenbridge. The sea dows have a name, yet you don't know it. Nothing prevents you from asking her, though. The Ardennes forest could be where the Archwood forest usually is. I invented that name, even without knowing where it was precisely. From now on, I'll use the usual names. I hope everything's clearer now. If the need once again arises, please ask. |
| Thogroar03-13-04, 09:00 PM | The Ardennes are a forest that lies beween Luxemborg and France. In World War One, Germany took the risk of bringing Britain and Belgium into the war, just so that they wouldn't have to move their army through this incredibly dense forest. After WWI, France fortified this border with a ton of forts called the Maginot Line. So, in WWII, Germany actually passed through the Ardennes, which had been deemed impossible. In this way, they bypassed the Maginot line. Ya know... just in case you wanted to know... Yeah, I Know I have too much random info floating around in my brain... ~E |
| Agudo Archmage03-14-04, 01:37 AM | Thanks Joan that was very helpful... By the way Thogroar I for one enjoy history so keep them random History posts coming :D Now if I only could get you Thogroar to answer my post on the main thread about your name and stuff ;) |
