I was just kinda curious if anyone had adopted the magic system from Slayers D20 into a standard D&D campaign, and if so, could you share your results? I was looking at beginning a conversion project to adapt the spells and rules to befit a standard D&D game, and was looking for potential hangups/hiccups :P

Well, I was leaning that way, but then I heard about "Advanced d20 Magic".
I have not yet used it in play, but that is what I'll be using for my next homebrew/campaign.
Take a look at some of the comments about it at www.goofanforums.com .

hrmmm, ive only used that system in a slayers campaign... however, if you use standard spells and not the slayers uber spells of doom, it should work fairly well. Might make it seem more of a lower magic setting though unless you altered the spellcasters to be able to take more of a beating.

Uber spells of Doom? Slayers only had one spell like that and that was Giga Slave.

I have Slayers d20 and Advanced d20 Magic, the DCs for the spells are a little high to cast even the most basic of spells (Cure Minor wounds is a DC 15). This combined with the fact that they have a poor Fort save (Dnd Wizard not Slayers) makes casting spell a major pain.
