| Revlis_Nogard01-19-07, 04:56 PM | You step through the leather flap of a small tent located only a few paces away from the Taverne Cycline. The smell of incense hangs heavy in the air as a gaunt man dressed in shoddy clothes recites his prayers and meditates. He looks up at you with a small grin, although his medatative state is unbroken. "Hello my child. What can I help you with?" OOC: I started this thread because I wanted to do something with Teiresias despite the fact he can't fight. This is also where the Hellbred Paladin Vicgretor Stormhand spends his time. If you need healing, restoration, or anything else Teiresias can do for you, you can come here. Also, this could serve as a place for religious characters to pray. |
| Gideon_Gideonson01-19-07, 05:07 PM | A heavily armored figure with an enormous flatbladed greatsword strapped to its back pushs aside the flap and staggers in, before dropping its massive burden...a fully armored war rhinoceros. Drawing a heavy morningstar emblazoned with Erythnul's snarling visage and slamming it into the ground, the knight leans forward menacingly. As it does so, the light from inside the tent reveals the sun of Pelor inlayed into the rusty armor. The knight's battered visor rises, and the terrible visage of an powerful and strong-willed bugbear stares coldly at Teiresias. "Work your magic, priest. Do it NOW! I have no energy left to be patient." |
| Revlis_Nogard01-19-07, 05:22 PM | A man in jet black armor, who did not seem to be there a moment ago, stands and draws a cruelly barbed greatsword. His eyes look as if on fire as his blade crackles with a malevolent energy. "You'll watch your tongue around this man! He has no need to take orders from you, bugbear!" Teiresias stands and gently pushes the man's blade aside, and walks over to the grounded rhino. "Vicgretor, this exact situation was the reason I came to Baator. He clearly is on our side, and is in need of a our help. It's just an urgent case. Of course he's going to be a little brutish. I appreciate your want to protect me, however few mortal weapons can harm me." He lifts the holy sun disk from around his neck, and after chanting a few prayers to the Shining One, lays his hands on the mount, channeling divine healing energy into it. The hands of death are kept back as Teiresias calls on his lord and patron for support once more. "There you are paladin. The healing, of course, is free. However, I would like to know your name, if you will." Vicgretor sits back down and puts his blade away, and Teiresias returns to his patch of dirt that he was sitting on. |
| Gideon_Gideonson01-19-07, 10:52 PM | "I am Rynce D'Janas, Knight of the Sun Lord. Do not call me Paladin yet...that will come." He turns his massive head to look at the black armored man. His voice is cold and mocking. "And you stay away. I have had enough tricks for one day. Stay where I can see you, and do not try to cross me. Its been a bad day, and I need something to take my anger out on. Don't make it be you." |
| Lord_Gareth01-19-07, 11:02 PM | "Yes, that would be quite rude, considering that this poor man is trying to live a peaceful life here." A tall woman in thick black plate mail strides in from a brief portal. On her back is a huge greatsword, and strapped to her hips are twin shortswords. Emblazoned onto her chest is the symbol of Law, and you can see the symbols of Life and Death on her shoulder pauldrons. She lifts the visor on her helm, and you see bone-white hair framing a pretty face. Her deep green eyes are matched by what looks like a pentagram tattoo on her left cheek. Rynce knows her as Jaden Blackblade. "Glad to see I found another knight allowed to drink and curse. Or are you quitting?" |
| Gideon_Gideonson01-20-07, 12:01 AM | "Quitting? By the Nine Hells no! I will never be one of those 'holier than thou' weaklings who rely on some shield of faith...I rely on myself, and until someone proves otherwise, I'll do what I wish." |
| Lord_Gareth01-20-07, 10:39 AM | "Well said. Here, one of the Wyrm's best." Jaden tosses Rynce a small flask that, even closed, reeks of alchohol. A small label on it warns: "Danger; may actually raise the dead." "It may be a bit...strong, but it's the only thing that affects me anymore, so it's what I've got on me. Do you know where the holy man is that lives here?" |
| Gideon_Gideonson01-20-07, 01:18 PM | Pointing to Teiresias, Rynce takes a long pull on the flask. "There's your man." Whiping his lips on his armored sleeve, Rynce closes the flask and tosses it back to Jaden with a sigh of satisfaction. "Ah...They don't make stuff like that much anymore. Thanks." |
| Revlis_Nogard01-21-07, 10:34 AM | "Rynce D'Janas, I am pleased to say that your steed shall live to see another day." Teiresias looks with his dead eyes at the women in plate with a smile that would make envious the morning sun. With his ever-calm disposition, he states "I consider myself no more holy than any other man who pays homage to his deity. But this is indeed my home, and if either of you would like, it can be yours as well. I am Teiresias, humble servant of the Shining One, and this is my companion Vicgretor Stormhand. Anything either of us can do for you would be a pleasure, I assure you, madam. Jaden, your name was?" Teiresias hangs his head towards the sky and praises Pelor in a barely audible tone. "So, the next generation truly has begun...praise be to Him." |
| Lord_Gareth01-21-07, 10:49 AM | Jaden picks up Terisias's last words and smiles. "Next generation? You're off by a few thousand years, holy man. I may only look eighteen, but I've got a few milennia under my belt. A friend of mine is looking for you, and in a rare stroke of politeness, has asked me to see if she is welcome in her home." She clears her voice, sounding sarcastically important. "Miss Brisinaria Shadestalker, wife to Lord Gareth the Cold, asks that she may impose her unworthy presence upon your glorious hospitality, that she may seek your aid." |
| Revlis_Nogard01-21-07, 10:57 AM | "I shall not bore you of prophecies and scripture, madam. Know only that your meeting here is an important day of hope for many. As to the matter of Miss Brisinaria Shadestalker, she only need to come here and she may stay as long as she requires. This tent can accomidate as man as need be." |
| Lord_Gareth01-21-07, 11:11 AM | "Prophecy? I don't put much stock with prophecy. Prophets have this nasty habit of predicting my death, and then being wrong about it. Puts my family into nervous knots for years on end until I go off and kill whatever it was that was supposed to kill me. But let me go fetch Bris for you." She draws her greatsword, and all gathered can see that it is covered in blazing red glyphs in every language that has existed. They all say one thing. Despair. She cleaves through the air, opening a shimmering gate. A short, thin young woman steps through, with auburn hair and brown eyes. She wears tight-fitting leather armor that allows full mobility underneath a loose tabard depicting a snarling red dog. A pair of large knives occupy her belt, along with sticks of dynamite and a lighter. "Heya! I'm Bris, Gareth's wife. I heard my husband was here, and then I heard you were here, found yer name in some of our records, and, well, I could use your help if anything in those records is true. Do you know of my husband?" |
| Revlis_Nogard01-21-07, 11:18 AM | Teiresias bows with the utmost respect to his new boarder. "The name Lord Gareth means nothing to me, although my associate is much more in touch with the world of today than I am. Vicgretor, have you heard of this man?" Vicgretor ponders for a moment. "I think I know the name...yer husband...was he a Blood War conscript maybe?" |
| Lord_Gareth01-21-07, 11:20 AM | "Well, sort of. For a few decades, Gareth was under the command of the Lich King. He slaughtered over a dozen worlds, left no surviors behind him, be they man, woman, or god. He came to the Abyss once. Took out every living thing on twenty layers. I haven't told him I came; he's too proud to ask for help on this kind of thing." |
| Revlis_Nogard01-21-07, 11:43 AM | Vicgretor smiles a smile of unmatched malice and loathing. "So...it is him...he's here. Your husband missed one guy in those 20 layers, lady. Yeah, I remember it like it was yesterday. I was fighting alongside a battalion of cornugon when your husband cames down. Killed my enitre squad, not to mention the glabrezu and nalfeshnee garrison we were trying to take out. He and I fought for quite a while before he said he had to go...I would've loved to have finished, though. If he's here , that means I would get a chance." |
| Lord_Gareth01-21-07, 12:11 PM | "He must not have been using Soulreaver. I've never seen Gareth not finish off a foe when he does. It's his final answer." "True, Jaden, very true. But, so you are aware, this isn't the same Gareth you faced all those years ago. He's freed himself from Ner'Zhul, and he intends on staying that way. He's a good guy, if a bit tempermental." "Bris, I'M tempermental. Gareth is just easily annoyed." Jaden walks through the gate, and it closes behind her. |
| Revlis_Nogard01-21-07, 12:19 PM | Teiresias nods. "And what aid does your husband require, madam?" |
| Lord_Gareth01-21-07, 12:22 PM | Brisinaria looks around, then blushes embarassedly. "Well, it's kinda private, ya'know..." |
| Revlis_Nogard01-21-07, 12:27 PM | "I cannot aid you madam if I do not know what you require." Vicgretor stands, stretches, and ealks towards the door. "Master, I'm going to look around this place for a while. I shouldn't be too long." |
| Lord_Gareth01-21-07, 12:32 PM | Bris eyes Rynce warily, and leans over to whisper in Terisias's ear. "The trouble is...well, we want to have a child. Between the whole 'undead' thing and his ice touch, we haven't been able to figure anything out. Our records indicated you were a wise man, so I sought your help." Incidentally, their records were sabotaged. She needs Bartlemaeus. However, if Terisias can help, feel free :D |
| Revlis_Nogard01-21-07, 01:26 PM | Bris' request does not phase Teiresias in the slightless. No, it appears that he is even more willing to help than he was before. "Quite the interesting problem you have. However, I am sure that I can find a way to help the two of you sire a child. The easiest path, of course, would be to temporarily return to the side of the living. Turning him back to an undead, I cannot help with, though." |
| Lord_Gareth01-21-07, 01:35 PM | "Problem is, his sword is what's keeping him undead. We can't take it from him; that'd kill him, and so far no one's found a way to get him livin' while he has it. Not that we haven't tried. He screamed for days on end, bad week for him." |
| Revlis_Nogard01-21-07, 01:44 PM | "Oh, it's just the sword that's keeping him undead? Then it should be more than simple to make him living, and then to make him undead again." |
| Gideon_Gideonson01-21-07, 07:15 PM | While the conversation drags on, Rynce takes his leave of the two and heads to the bar, where, hopefully, things are less...personal. |
| Gideon_Gideonson01-23-07, 08:21 AM | The door is pushed hesitantly aside, and Gideon Gideonson walks slowly in, pulling a scroll and a vial of blood from within his cloak. Cradling them like something precious, he shuffles over to Teiresias. Sorry to interupt, but I have a very important request. Could you assist me with a casting? You're more qualified than I am with this sort of thing. |
| Revlis_Nogard01-23-07, 08:13 PM | "Of course, my son, I would be more than happy to help. What is your desire?" |
| Gideon_Gideonson01-23-07, 08:29 PM | Gideon silently hands the scroll and vial to the mystic. Then, bowing his head, he speaks in a quiet voice. His name is...was...Kyle Killigan. Aside from that, I know almost nothing about him. And I think he's gone...far gone. But I have to know. I have to try. |
| Revlis_Nogard01-25-07, 08:10 PM | "I am not sure, I understand your request, Gideon Gideonson...allow me to shed some light on it for myself." Teiresias' eyes glow with an intense shine as he looks through the events that have transpired between Gideon and Kyle. "I see...that is most troubling...I don't suppose you have his soul, do you?" |
| Gideon_Gideonson01-25-07, 10:52 PM | I'm not sure... ...oh damn! Looking panicked and embarrased, Gideon turns around, walks back out to the arena, and comes back, carefully carrying Kyle's broken body. I'm not sure if his soul is still here. I hope it is. That's the best I can do. |
| Revlis_Nogard01-30-07, 09:42 PM | "Hmmm...let me take a look." Teiresis goes over the body again and again, looking at it although his eyes are dead. Eventually, he pauses and ponders. Then, he states his theory. "His soul somehow is still in his body...I'm not entirely sure how, I've never seen anything like it before. Since the soul is indeed here, though, I should have no problem bringing him back." He pulls out his sun disk, and looks towards the heavens. He begins to pray, and his body begins to waver and shudder as his gaunt body again begins to atrophy even more, as if he was giving his own body to help bring Kyle back. Suddenly, he pauses and shouts: "Kyle Killigan! Rise! Wake from your cold slumber!" |
| Lord_Gareth01-30-07, 09:45 PM | Kyle's spirit wavers into view, ethereal and stern. Then he looks around and his cocky, jovial grin returns. "What the hell? Come on people, I'm already dea -." He looks at Gideon and Terisias again, as though from a great distance. "'Ey, it's Gideon! And some old guy. What're you knocking on Death's Door for?" |
| Revlis_Nogard01-30-07, 09:54 PM | "Kyle Killigan, I presume? Welcome back to life." |
| Gideon_Gideonson01-30-07, 09:55 PM | I thought...if...um...well...um... Balor's blood, man! Get a grip on yourself! Okay. I was...I suppose you could say...checking in. Just to make sure you were...you know. Lively and well, sort of thing. Except not. um...and I was wondering what you failed at...I feel I owe you something...thought maybe I could finish it for you. If you don't want to come back that is. um...and I guess the other reason is that...well... Gideon falls to his knees in front of the ghost, wringing his hands worriedly. His eyes glisten wetly, and his voice is strained and rushed. Itwasintentionalyes...butIthoughtyou'dco meback! Almosteveryoneelsecameback...andandand.. .and......and... He collaspes, head in his hands. ...and I'm sorry. It was a horrible way to end it. I'm so sorry... |
| Lord_Gareth01-30-07, 09:55 PM | Kyle looks down at his mangled body, then up at Gideon, then over at Terisias, confused. "Gideon, I volunteered for mortal combat. I knew I had the chance to die, likely horribly. The fact that you let me keep my soul is enough for me. As to why I don't come back, let's say I'm bad at gambling, and Death is very good at it. I'm gonna be fine. As to my failure..." He trails off. "Well, the monks can explain it to you. I'm not entitled to give you the full story. But, if they trust you, meaning if you survive them asking endless questions, you'll find out. Go to Toril, where Five Mountains Meet." |
| Gideon_Gideonson01-30-07, 10:11 PM | Gideon stands up slowly, then raises his head and catches Kyle's eye. He seems stronger, and the sadness and despair is gone from his voice. Thanks. I needed that. And I think I will go...I began this thing, may as well finish it. I hope you enjoy the afterlife. He walks out of the tent, but turns around as his hand brushes the tentflap. Oh...and Kyle? If you ever need anything...anything at all...just contact me. I'm sure you'll find a way. And thanks again. With that, Gideon bids the departed spirit and the ancient mystic farewell, and walks slowly out of Sorcen's Baator. |
| Revlis_Nogard02-04-07, 09:29 AM | "Oh my...Rynce...no...he can not be lost. Not now. He needs to return. For the sake of the prophecy. " Teiresias tilts his head skyward as his eyes begin to glow a brilliant gold as he searches the cosmos for the lost soul of Rynce D'Janas. "Ye gods...it had to be there, didn't it? No matter. he must be saved." With that, Teiresias rises, opens the flap of his tent, and exits Sorcen's Baator, off to his mystery destination. |
| Gaelro_Nailo02-04-07, 03:57 PM | Lafali steps though the tent flaps, his normaly clean kimono is tattered and blood stained. His left arm is limp, obviously broken. His good arm clutches his chest. He smiles weakly, "I have heard that there is a skilled healer here. It seems that the darkness I absorbed durning my recent match is keeping me from healing naturaly. May I.......", What ever lafali was about to say is anyones guess, as he falls unconsciously to the ground. |
| Lord_Gareth02-04-07, 04:00 PM | Kyle looks at the newcomer and shakes his head in pity. "Yer screwed. Good luck in the afterlife." And with those sage words, he departs. |
| Revlis_Nogard02-06-07, 05:55 PM | Teiresias opens up the flap to his tent, a look of disappointment on his face. Upon seeing the downed warrior in his tent, he whips his hands around, knitting and weaving divine energy which he quickly channels into the young man. "I apologize for my absence, I hope I was in time." |
| Gaelro_Nailo02-06-07, 07:34 PM | As the divine energy is woven around lafali body, his wounds start to close, his bones mend. Standing up lafali looks at the man that healed him, "You have my gratitude. It would seems the stories are true, you are a skilled healer. My name is Lafali Lathi." He the bows low, showing Teiresias much respect. |
| Gaelro_Nailo02-08-07, 12:54 PM | "Well I better be going, I do not wish to be rude but I am in need of a new sword. If I can be of any assistance please send word to me and I will try and come as swiftly as I may." Lafali opens the tent flaps, once outside a shimmer forms near him. Once he steps through it close as quickly as it opens. |
| Revlis_Nogard02-15-07, 06:32 PM | A bloody trail leading from Sorcen's arena leads back to the hovel, where Teiresias has already prepared two altars. Only one is to be used, however, as the mage Tyler was resurrected. teiresias drags Harmond's body (or what's left of it), and begins to chant a sacred prayer, holding his sun disk aloft. His eyes glow with the power of the sun, and a divine radiance comes down from the heavens and enters into Harmond, patching his wounds and restoring his soul. "Rise, my son, and be a whole once more." Harmond leaps up, his body intact, and prepares to attack Inaya and Tyler, whom he assumes are still there. After not finding them, he calms himself, and looks at Teiresias. "Where the hell am I?" "In this particular part of Hell, you are in my home young elf." Harmond looks around, more confused than before. "Where are those two? They have a whole world o' hurt comin' their way..." "The match is over, son. You and your rabbit friend lost, I'm afraid." "Oh, you have GOT to be kidding me!" Harmond storms out of the hut and makes his way towards the bar. "Don't do anything too hasty, young one! I don't want to see you back here!" |
