Hello all! This is my first venturing to the DM side of the MotP boards,so bare with me here...

Aliens is one of my favorite movies so I was thinking...As those Colonial Marines go on long treks through space getting colonists and terraformers out of trouble, what happens on Earth?

Anyone can join in,but no "Impossible Heroics;" PM me if you have any questions...

...and we may need a few medics...

The date is July 3rd,2216. Approximatly 37 years ago today, the Weyland Yutani Corporation lost contact with the Hadleys Hope colony on Ancheron(Lv.426). Approximatly 12 years ago to date, this loss was announced to the public.

The setting is a small suburb on the outskirts of Baltimore,Maryland.Posted all over the town is a single, propogandis message:

Weyland-Yutani
Corporation
\\ //\\ //
"Building Better Worlds"

In this suburb there isn't much to see,so I suggest you head for the city...

A tall, thin man in a black overcoat walks up to one of the signs posted about Weyland Yutani corporation.

"What a waste of such a valuable resource."

Gith says in disgust, walking past teh signs toward the heart of the planet-the city. Strenously trained fingers twitched with boredom as he calmly makes his way down the barren street, heading towards the bustling, beating, convulsing city life. The ways of society had changed, and so did the minds of those who ran it. He could see. He did not understand itm, but he didn't have to. One can survive, even make a differance without understanding. Gith understood the WYcorp wasnt telling the people all they knew. Of course Gith had no real evidence of that, but history and human nature says they didn't. Any fool who was not swayed by the propaganda, the tax refunds, the parades and charades by the WYcorp could tell losing contact with a colony was not all that happened. Even if WYcorp did reveal evidence about something big going down over there, they did not spread it colony-wide, jsut enough so they said they told us if anybody found what was happening. And what was happening? Either something beneficial WYcorp found and was required by law to share, so tehy covered it up, or sometihng bad and WYcorp thought it best to obscure the details, to hide the facts so the hard, sour whiskey of truth was watered down to tea. Tea that would not lash out at WYcorp for putting civilians in danger by exploring unknown, possibly hostile planets. Law suits emerged from that perspective, many of them, but in the end they all died down and WYcorp was the victor, and has since made money and made ties with mroe organizations and people Gith cared to dream of. WYcorp did not seem a BAD corporation no. But Gith thought of the signs of WYcorp's attempt in controling more people into their ways, to give them their money to contiunue to monopolize furhter markets. MAybe Gith was insane, maybe he was paranoid. Maybe he was right, but Gith doubted it. ONe shing was for sure.

He needed a drink.

((OOC:Well,that's one person...BTW:It's evening,sun's gone down,and the suburb is just a bunch of neighborhoods & apartments.(and NO PLANET CITY!:embarrass)))

A man wearing a white uniform and hat with a familiar symbol on it walks up behind Gith and taps him on the shoulder.

"Excuse me sir,no loitering on the sidewalks"

He stands upright awaiting a responce. The nightstick in his right hand sends a very strong message.

Gith looks the man in the eye. For several seconds he wonders whether the eye is constructed from the womb of a living, dying person, or the creation of scientists weaving and fabricating a machine whose interface was far more complex, more flexible, and to some extent; more disgusting than their CPU predecessors.

"I apologize. Can you direct me to the nearest bar?"

The man gives Gith the once over and nods.

"Two blocks down, that way...He points...;towards the city.Good little pub...if you hurry, yah' can catch the end of happy hour...

He stands waiting for Gith to keep going, eyeing him suspiciosly.

"Thanks."

Gith says; making his intentions clear he was not leaving yet.

"So what do you think of Weyland-Yutani Corporation?"

He smirked and almost laughed at the fact he was asking an employee, maybe even an employe whom was never to leave the business. Ever.

The man gives Gith a blank stare for a moment,as if thinking of something...

"I strongly suggest you leave now sir. It's getting dark, and bad things happen to nosey people when it's dark"

Another way to control the masses, through individual fear. A Perfect example of how behnd the scenes, even the Baltimore police could succumb to the force WYcorp held over them. They could enforce any law they wanted, and no threat would be held against them. Once again he might see things as too big, maybe this one WYcorp personel was just out to assist citizens in the ways he can, by swaying things his way, by putting them to sleep; closing their eyes to the life of night, of what could be done under the noses of those who do not care to watch. But Gith was always watching. Everything told him he didn't veiw things as big enough.

"Well I say thank the maker for Weyland Yutani corporation. Always building better things eh? Well I'm off. Thanks again."

Gith gave a thin smile. Not as a sign of appreciation, but as a mental note that the man probably did not understand either of the two puns. But the machine would.

Gith turned and made his way to the pub for that drink.

in the bar there was a man sipping on a glass of chilled wine, despite the fact that he was completely out of place amongst the crowd. rather than draw attention to himself he sat in the back corner, disappearing into the shadows. he notices Gith walk in, and keeps track of him, just as he is doing for everyone else in the bar, keeping people uninterested in him. he whispers in such a fashion that none could hear him, and any who could would simply think he was shifting in his chair. "I shouldn't have come here, it was stupid and foolish, an outsider can rarely survive in the city, especially this one."

The pub seems to be very old, having wood pillars instead of titanium ones...a rarety in this day and age.Sitting at the left side of the bar are a couple of regulars chatting over what went down in the mines or about silly ideas of getting a spacecraft and heading for the Outer Veil...

...But at the right side are a few off-duty Colonial Marines, talking at length about new Pheonix class Star-Ships,with an older Sargeant ranting on about his days as a Private on the old Conestoga class...all of them getting drunker by the minute

A tall man with short black hair and black civilian clothing ambles into the pub, takes a seat near the dying activity of the custumors. He motions for a drink, sits back and listens to the stories told.

One of the soldiers catches a glimpse of Gith listening in on there conversations...

...Corporal Davis turns to face him...

"Hey Civi,what's your story?"
BarbedWings

04-04-04, 02:46 PM
"Just dropped a job offer from some mining company. It really didnt seem worth my while. Right now Im broke, bored, and in need of employement."

Gith replies, with no hint of sarcasm or humor in his voice.

Corporal Davis shoots a look at the other marines with a smirk on his face, then turns back to face Gith

"You could always join the Corps!"

All of the marines start laughing...

04-04-04, 02:58 PM
"THank you for hte offer, but if I wanted to be payed for taking other's lives, I would become a criminal, not a marine. But I think I might get back to you on that, since hte former is out of the question.

Gith finishes his drink, and orders up another.

04-04-04, 04:38 PM
Cpl.Davis stands up tall in Gith's face and bears down on him...

"Are you callin' the Corps Criminals!?!?"

The other marines just look up at him and go back to what there were drinking...
BarbedWings

04-04-04, 07:23 PM
Gith laughs, not even standing to meet the man.

"Criminals? No. Criminals are much better at what they do. Oh, but of course, you are restricted by the law."

04-04-04, 08:25 PM
Cpl.Davis losses his cool...

"WHY I 'AUGHTA..."

He grabs Gith by the shirt collar and lifts him to his feet.He raises a fist, but the older Sergeant grabs his elbow...

"You best calm down boy,yer makin' us look bad."

That said, the Corporal sits back down, staring furiously at Gith.

"Whoa now cheif. Don't you think you're in a fix already? Econimists say you're a waste of government money, seeing how we aren't at any enourmous threat. Politicians say you only exist so one faction can destroy another, which is something we all dont want. And now Military brutality? I think thats mroe than a simple fellow like yourself can handle."

Gith grins at his verbal opponent. He leans close and whispers softly;

"Besides, I'd bet those miners would love to bring you to your knees in a public court marshal eh?"

At that the bartender nods to a large man at the door who starts walking towards the group...The Bouncer. He grabs Corporal Davis and Gith by the collars and proceeds to the back door, where enjoyably gives them the boot.

Gith gets up, laughs, and looks at the hotheaded marine.

"I lose more bars that way."

Gith turns and proceeds to explore the confines of the environment around him.

"Stupid Civi...They better let us back in there,'cause if they don't,*@#$!!!"

Gith ignores his remark... knowing that if he gets evicted permanently from that pub, he and his cronies will move to the next one.

(OOC: are you guys friends? cause you put that many posts in one day must mean that you either check constantly or are colaborating)

the man in the corner chuckles for a minute about the comosion, but quickly silences himself to avoid serious notice. if anyone was actually observing him they would notice that he looks strange, though not in a physical way, but in the way he sort of is deeper into the shadows then you would think is possible.

((OOC:actually,a little bit of both. And yes we know eachother...:D ))

The bartender goes back to running the bar,the bouncer to the door.
