| Mechail09-26-03, 04:35 AM | He awoke in a sweat he didn't believe could be possible. He cupped his face in his hands and as the moon was playing it's night-melodies the big man softly cried. In the dream which had awoken him he was seated on a bench watching people who did had things to do, pass him by like ants on a hill. Crawling and running to their destination. Armand was a handsome man. But in his dream every passerby pulled a long face, as if they had just witnessed the most ugly and dirty man on the world. This had made him sad, but the saddest part of his dream was yet to come. He sat there for centuries and centuries. Still not one second had passed when he finally stoof up from his bench. People were still making their way through the distorted streets of some big city. He left the bench without saying goodbye to it. And that was the saddest part of his dream. There was not one person or thing he could say goodbye to. He just couldn't leave it behind. He couldn't leave it behind. He swung his feet over the side of the bed and fitted them into his slippers. Which by the way took him some time since one of them had decided it was more comfortable lying underneath the middle portion of the bed. Another thing which he couldn't leave behind was now lying on the dinner table in his kitchen. He made his way down the steps and entered the kitchen. The stone which he had found the day before lay there still. It's pulsating light bathing the kitchen in an eerie glow. He remembered finding the stone but couldn't get himself to really bring back the memory. This made the hair on the back of his neck rise like his manhood would when confronten with a beautiful naked woman. Although the feeling was not quite the same. Soon his three friends would meet him in this very room, and the four of them would speculate about the stone. What the four of them do not yet know is that they will soon find themselves in a world where they will have to survive just to stay alive¡K (Hello all! This one is an adventure to chill the bones and make your brain do overtime. No D&D rulez or dices needed. I am the dungeon master, I will tell if a search action, an attack or whatever it is you want to do, will succeed or not. No need to post every day. After the three people have joined, with a short desciption of your character, which will be someone out of this time, not all men plz! After that I will write the second part of the prologue and then we will set off. Fasten your seatbelt plz ƒº |
| Mechail09-26-03, 04:36 AM | One place is taken by a friend of mine, he will post a description of his character soon. 2 places left then. O the tension.....:) |
| Justitian09-26-03, 07:24 AM | Name: Justitian Gender: male Class: Philopher-warrior Homeland: The fabled city of Petra, once a loyal city to the Byzantine empire. Preferable weapon:Longsword (but a desert eagle will do fine)/ Justitian is very able with a missle-weapon from horse/camel-back or out of a car. Justitian is the innovative bussinessman of modern-times, but in his 'spare-time'.... He is raised in the fields of his fathers estate and thought in the art of war, philosophy and history of the ancients of his kingdom and the handling of arms. |
| Kathryn_aka_Kat09-26-03, 08:24 AM | I like the opening. I'm willing to try this, please let me know if the character/player is acceptable to you. And I believe you said the character is supposed to be modern? If so, this would be mine: Name: Kathryn Thornton Single, mid-thirties, she works as a free-lance writer and researcher. Not a large income but enough to get by, and she values the independence. No pets; she likes animals but avoids cliches such as "single woman writer who talks to her cat". She's reasonably pleasant to look at, yet somehow seems the type of woman that if she meets a man in a bar he'll end up telling her about all his previous relationship problems and then ask for advice on how to date the hot chick at the next table. And the worst of it is, she'll give the advice and sometimes it won't even be designed to get him shot down. She'll accept the nickname "KT", but if you ever spell it "Katie" she'll kill you. |
| Mechail09-26-03, 08:29 AM | Kathryn --> You're in, no doubt about it. Justitian --> Perhaps my intro wasn't clear enough. Srry :( I am really looking for characters who live in our world today 2003. No elves, dwarfs or whatever kind of creatures. Just plain simple humans. Heheh, I got a woman for my story :) |
| Mechail09-26-03, 08:45 AM | Kathryn, could you please e-mail me (or post it here) about what the bond between Armand and Kathryn will be? Like, how they met eachother or why she comes over or whatever k? I don't want to make to much stuff up which outline your character, I would very much like the players to design their character. I will toy with them during the game so.... :) E-mail is Anjelen666@hotmail.com tnx for joining ! |
| Justitian09-26-03, 09:15 AM | Editted the previous post.... Justitian is just one of those million bussinessmen wandering the face of the planet for some major complany or another. He is born on the mediteranean east coast (souteasterly Turkey (near where I live-Antioch)) is (surprisingly) an Orthodoxe-christian. (They where there a long time ago, and still live there altough not in great numbers) His age is somewhere in the mid-thirties but he is semi-well built. not very buitifull but then again not ugly. NExt to this he is rather intelligent and well educated. His wife is a buitifull dark haired, muslim native and togheter they have a 7 year son. Music is Justitian's spare-time passion. He listens to music like episode 6 and the West coast pop art experiment and is one of those few fans of the Blues-brothers. Is he something for the story???? |
| Mechail09-26-03, 09:27 AM | Cool Justitian, very cool indeed. Please read the message I wrote for Kathryn and let me know how you would like your character to know Armand. Old time friends, perhaps even fmaily, or maybe they met when Armand was bringing the stone to his home. Everything goes. Make sure then that your character brings a discman or something when he visits Armand. The four of them are in for a surprise believe me :) |
| Mechail09-26-03, 09:29 AM | We will just have to wait until monday before this friend of mine has time to post his character. In the meanwhile I will be working on the rest of the intro now that I know two of my characters :) Tnx you two, you shall not regret it ! |
| Kathryn_aka_Kat09-26-03, 09:56 AM | Thanks for letting me in! Justitian, I like your new version of your char; this looks like a interesting combination of people. Players, too, with you in Antioch, Mechail in Holland, and me east-coast USA. Additional background as worked out with Mechail: Kathryn knows Armand from when he was dating one of her friends, Paula. They used to go out as a group: Armand, Paula, Kathryn, and whoever Paula roped in to be Kathryn's date. It got to the point where Armand and Kathryn would spend the evening making barely-hidden jokes about the other guy, which annoyed Paula whenever she actually caught one. Eventually Armand and Paula broke up, but Kathryn still sees Armand since they found they have a lot of interests in common. But they're just friends, of course. |
| Mechail09-26-03, 10:01 AM | This friend of mine lives in Holland too, better yet he is my colleague and sits about one meter and 20 centimeter away from me. Only today he has a day off which is why he hasn't replied. I like the way you post your info's and try to (even at the very start) create a positive atmosphere for the story Kathryn. Thanks |
| Justitian09-26-03, 10:19 AM | Three and a half months ago. Justitian was walking trough a dark, filty and sober alley somewhere in Manhattan, New York. He had been to a business date with an attache and togheter they attended a dinner at the Hilton. During the dinner they drank and drank, laughed, talked and drank more. But now Justitian had to return to his own staying place. A trip which took him trough the darkest parts of this great city. Not very stable on both of his feet the semi-drunk Turk wandered trough a wet spot and kicked at some garbage-sacks. “Well, well, well.” Three creacking voices sounded around his back. “A rich drunk bastard with a little to much blood in his veins.” “John, kikck him in the ribs.” The three advanced on the dumb-found Justitian and soon kicked him around the alley while he tried to out-run them towards the lights of the streets and the sounds of cars riding by. The smallest of the three robberers punched Justitian in the side while another struck him in the belly. Justitian bend double but averted the next punch and even kicked back one of his assailants. At the same moment a crushing blow landed on his back and Justitian fell into the gutters beside the side of the road. Hands touched him everywhere in search of wealth when a black car stopped besides the curbs. Justitian fell a hand in his neck before he was dragged into the car. The driver kicked on the gas and the car sped away. Three blocks farther the car stopped again in front of Justitians hotel. Luckyle the bruises he had stustained where not very large and Justitian was able to carry on his business trip. But before he left the car the man who had saved him pushed a little card into his hand. Armand I saved your life today and someday you will repay me. |
| Justitian09-26-03, 10:21 AM | I hope this told a bit about how Justitian met Armand if it was a bit to mystical or to wierd, please tell me and I will change it. |
| Mechail09-26-03, 10:50 AM | Justitian, I hope you understand that now I have to change my character :( BUT.....since I find your little post so very cool, and very nicely made up I will happily change my character a bit. Very cool Justitian, tnx |
| Mechail09-26-03, 10:56 AM | I'm really sorry to have to ask you (Kathryn & Justitian) again, but could you please perhaps send me some Additional Information about the Backgrounds of your characters to Anjelen666@hotmail.com. Take your time, make sure your character is exactly the way you want it. But since Armand knows you I will have to put some info about your characters in the next part of the intro, this is why I ask it. We will only start on monday so you have a whole weekend to make the history up. You two rule already, My friend who will join will do so for the first time so please don't go yell at him when he does something stupid :) |
| Mechail09-28-03, 11:14 AM | Thank you very much for the background Kathryn ! Justitian, I received the background from Kathryn, if I receive yours then I can truly make up something nice for the intro. Exciting......;) (Kinda funny by the way Justitian, the company I work for is called Intrum Justitia :) |
| Mechail09-28-03, 12:02 PM | By the way Kathryn and Justitian. It would be good for the story if we could communicate in a chat room or something. Have you guys perhaps got MSN ? My e-mail adress for MSN = Mechail_the_Vampire@hotmail.com. If you like the plan, you can add me. :) For the sake of the game :D |
| Kathryn_aka_Kat09-28-03, 06:02 PM | Sorry, I don't do IMs. I've always relied on e-mails by themselves and in listgroups. Is this a problem? Generally I only get on the net to do work/research, or play ISRP, so I don't need any more distractions. |
| Mechail09-29-03, 03:58 AM | Hmmm, too bad Kathryn. It's not a problem, just that when the players chat amongst eachother the story might be more easier and better to play. We'll just communicate through the e-mail and the thread then. Ramon is working his ass off trying to create a character and a history of how his character and mine (Armand) know eachother. I'll be writing the second part of the intro this evening. :fight!: |
| Justitian09-29-03, 06:55 AM | I send this to Mechail: First of all, I like the concept. Second. Sorry I am not able to chat either as I do not have MSn and are not able to get it....and besides, my online-time is a little. Justitian.... he is a 32 year old married father of a seven year son. He is a somewhat relegious man, attneds the Greek orthodoxe church once a month. His wife is a 27 year old Turkish girl, grown up as a muslim but not to tight to the point. They raised their son with a bit of both religions and actually none at all. The primairy language of the three is turkish, and Narla, Justitian's wife can also write Arabic, like justitian himself. He is also skilled in English, Latin and Greek and is able to read and speak a bit French and German. This all for the sake of bussiness. The ancient langauges are part of the education the young man learned from his father. furthermore he learned the history of Europe, Arabia, the ancient epires, Greek and the Byzantine. He is also very well educated in his own bussiness, he sells some vegetable plants (tomatoes, olives) and a few sorts of flowers. This is his bussiness a part in which he is very well driven and raised from his childhood. His father still runs an olive-farm just three miles outside the ancient roman capital of Antioch. Here he learned the trait and now in his mid-thirties he is an accomplishe bussinessman. Still Justitian has a darker shadow, his wife is a muslim but he would like to see Antioch, Aleppo, Anatolia and Byzantium once free and Greek like it was a thousand years. So he is part of a small group of scholars who call themselves Bellatoris Antiochea, Latin for the warriors of Antioch. Hope this povides the usefull info and I like to hear from you. Justis  |
| Mechail09-29-03, 07:06 AM | Splendid, splendid and splendid !! Kathryn has provided me with a perfect piece of history about her character and Justitian has done the same. Both are just perfect. Praise for Justitian for making me have to dig out books about religions now :( Heheh, no it's really great. Ramon, this friend/collegue of mine is working on it as we speak. We will start soon. Thank you for your imput :) |
| Justitian09-29-03, 07:41 AM | Oh and besides Narla is Sunni, not Shiitte. when we are talking about religion. Have fun sorting it out. |
| Mechail09-29-03, 02:22 PM | Hmm... Some bad luck for us. My friend has called off. He wasn't really focussing on role playing, he thought it was something more like a collaberate story. I've explained him that this will be a pure role playing game though. We have to see if we can get another player. No worries, someone will show up I hope. |
| Justitian09-30-03, 04:08 AM | Let us just continue in the meantime. Dan, maybe ask some of the old chaps to join in. |
| Mechail09-30-03, 04:29 AM | Good idea Mark, I'll sent some e-mails around to try and get them over here. First I'll try Incencius. >.< No worries though, all will be fine but we cannot start until we have our fourth player. I'm afraid we really have to wait for him or her. Please be patient. :) |
| Justitian09-30-03, 04:59 AM | I am patient but I like to start, my fingers are itching again. |
| Justitian10-03-03, 03:48 AM | itch, itch, itch ? When will we start? |
| Justitian10-06-03, 02:48 AM |   |
| Mechail10-09-03, 05:30 AM | It seems this fourth player is not showing up. Too bad really, but what the heck. I want to start the thread the coming week, we'll just play it with the three of us then. Maybe some other player will present himself later on who knows? I'm sorry it took so long, the waiting has tired me out too :) I'll be posting in the weekend or on monday I promise. Thank you Carol & Mark Danny |
| Justitian10-09-03, 05:34 AM | I AM WAITING FOR YOU. |
| Mechail10-09-03, 05:39 AM | lol Mark, that was fast, hehe Keep on waiting, I will not let you down ^^ |
| Justitian10-09-03, 08:41 AM | All right, give me a sign when we start |
| Mechail10-10-03, 03:45 AM | There are still miracles in this world. Someone is reading this thread to see if it might be something he/she wants to join in. This means I will give that person some time to make a decision. In the meantime I'm working on the story as I speak. Thank you for your pateince |
| Justitian10-17-03, 03:05 AM | Come on lets start |
| Mechail10-17-03, 03:40 PM | I'm really sorry, but due to sudden things which are presenting itself I am uptil now still not able to really begin the game. I hope you will be able to have a bit more patience :( Danny (Kirya, I would also ask you to read the first few posts and send me a short description of your char and a short description of how she got to know my character.) Tnx ! |
| Justitian10-21-03, 07:55 AM | So eh KOMT ER NOG WAT VAN!!!!!!!!! |
