Sitting on stage in a tall back chair the famed Archmage of Light well known Author of many number one selling books of the realms and Headmaster of the School of Light and Magic baring his name......Agudo!

He sat there puffing away on his corncob pipe that scented the room with the sweet smell of apple cinnamon.
Before him was a short plump Halfling with an adorable cute face slightly covered in pecan butter and bread crumbs

As she wipes her face and puts down her plate of sliced bread
The middle age Halfling cleared her throat, smiling with the charm of the host that she was.

“I would like to thank ye Mr. Agudo for coming today and sharing with us yer newest book titled
(The Messianica War by Agudo)
At our prestige’s Candle Keep library of Realm renowned knowledge.

Clapping echoes out through the auditorium as many races cheer.

The Archmage of Light gives a slight bow of his head and shows that classic charming pearly white smile he is so famously known for.

Agudo gingerly wave’s his one hand that holds his corn cob pipe, as the scholars and faculty of Candle Keep slowly retake there seats after such an enthusiastic applause

“Now as ye can see we have rows upon rows of thy fans here, who are not only honored to be with ye this day.
But have many questions for thy enchanted ears.”

Scratching his short blond chin beard with his free hand
Causing the colorful magical rings on his fingers to sparkle form the flaming candelabra above
Agudo chuckled at the Halfling’s jest.

He then spoke in warm fatherly voice that so calms and inspirers those who partake in its wise melody

“You are to kind my esteemed Lady Chancellor Wiselyfoot.
Its is I !
Who is honored by you and this grand gathering of respected intellectual beings of the Realms”

More applause from the audience as the long blond hair mage glances about

“And may I say Candel Keep under your wise tutelage Lady Chancellor.
Has grown even more as a beacon of Light and Knowledge, for all who walk in her pristine halls”

Another standing ovation this time for Wiselyfoot, even Agudo stands and applauds
After awhile the blushing short Chancellor stands on her chair to wave people to retake there seats
Agudo smoothes his blue and white robe and reaches for his sky blue cape moving it aside; as he himself may regress into the provided plush ornate chair behind him.

Lady Wiselyfoot then spoke to those gathered about her and her guest

“Please feel free to ask any questions to Headmaster Agudo of our sister school
Be it of his lattes wonderful manuscript creation or some other thought provoking query”

Standing in the back of the room a woman dressed in a cloak with the hood pulled up waits for her turn to speak. When Lady Wiselyfoot finally askes for questions she points to this woman who clears her throat to speak.

"um. Yes. I was just wondering. Why is it that this war started in the first place? And why do all reports we have on it seem very one sided and unless one knows the current lady of Hillsfar one can not get any of the othersides views? Is this just an attempt by you to make what may have turned out to be a large mistake look good?"

Slowly sipping on spiced tea as he waited with Lady Wiselyfoot for the first question Agudo nearly choked on the before mentioned refreshment and in doing so practically knocking off his latest book creation on his convulsing lap

Do to the audacious question that was asked by the mysterious person in the back of the room.

Ruthia
"um. Yes. I was just wondering. Why is it that this war started in the first place? And why do all reports we have on it seem very one sided and unless one knows the current lady of Hillsfar one can not get any of the other sides views?
Is this just an attempt by you to make what may have turned out to be a large mistake look good?"

“Mistake! One sided?”

Many in the audience gasped at such disrespectful manners to someone as esteemed and beloved as Archmage of Light Agudo.

The Chancellery huffed and folded her arms but waited for her honored guest to reply to this heckler

Taking a white silk hanky from the fold of his sky colored robe
Agudo wipe his blond chin beard and the now damp prized book in his lap.
Before recovering enough to set straight this misguided questions brought before him

Folding his arms in his lap Agudo spoke once more in his warm fatherly voice seemingly restoring calm to those around him.

“Well now my young lady?”

Agudo squints through the candle smoke haze in the auditorium
Feebly with no successes to see the one who so disrupted this other wise pleasant time

“As for your first question....why did the war start?”

Agudo seem uncomfortable at this but soon found his footing

“Part of the reason was that Messianica and her fanatical blind followers.
Over through several well established towns and cities. Such as Dagger Falls and Hills Far
Ordering most wickedly under threat of beating and death.....
All!
Good and Evil religions out of those before mentioned towns and cites
Temples were in some instances desecrated by making them into barnyard animal housing for poor farmers.
Land was taken without compensation Mayor and Baronesses who were relieved of there large land Holdings.
No one was allowed to own anything it was all given to the messianic community under the guise of feeding and housing the poor or as Messianic had said ...

”All For One! And One For All”.

Taxes were canceled!

Agudo looked around as if this was obviously preposterous his voice rising

“Imagine governments not being able to raise coin for the payment of needed infrastructure such as hospitals, Orphanages, Schools!”

The Wizard of Light calmed himself before he continued

“Now granted many goodly folks were happy to hear she did away with slavery
From of the more evil aligned places that her followers held”

Many people nodded there heads in agreement even Agudo

But to do away with freedom of religion and owning ones home....was too much for the righteous to stand by!”

Applause rang out

“Now!
As far as your flight of the imagination one sided view you speak of!

Slightly frowning yet still sounding pleasant he continued

“My Honorable Goodly Reputation as a Pillar within the community!
Gives solace to all those who read my books of the accuracy of the history that I write”

The Chancellor stood with many ((BUT)) not all in the auditorium to applauded in support of Agudo

After a minute Agudo continued
“As for your last question my dear”

He squinted once more still not clearly seeing this bold women in the back
“There is NO mistake in protecting Freedom of religion and Choice!”

More applause.....yet once more not by all in this now heated room

Seated near the far back walls of the auditorium, a young girl wanted to clap along with all the other supportive fans of Agudo, but didn't dare to out of fear for her well being. Everyone sitting around her had become very upset at the mention of the war, and their anger only increased as Agudo tried to justify it. Maybe if she asked a more lighthearted question everyone's heart would be set back at ease. Or maybe they'd just get angrier at her desperate attempt to change the subject. The girl prayed it wouldn't be the later.

"Mr. Agudo. . ."

A sudden nervousness took hold of the girl as she stood up and spoke her question aloud. Public speaking had never been a very strong point for her.

". . . How did you come to meet your Friend Lady Hoot? And what made the two of you decide to open up the School of Light and Magic?"

The woman in the back laughed as Agudo tried to febelly justify his point of view. She listened to the crowd around her get angery and grumbled about Augdo's lack of answers on the questions. Just as she was about to ask him another question a young preistess atands and ask a completely unrelated question. The woman sighs and waits her turn.

A red-haired Sun Elf in the front stands up, dressed in the clothing of an obvious noble or, perhaps, a performer.

"Yes, Lord Agudo, I have a question: there were some rumours that you were assassinated by a good friend during the war. Was this true? What were the circumstances leading up to that battle?

Also, playing into that...I heard further rumours that a man named Aravilar Holistacia took the position of power, as Headmaster and Commander of the Army of Light, in a plot to raise his own status up. I also heard that, at a later date, he bestowed one or both of those titles upon a certain bardess, friendly to you. Is this true? If so, what happened to that man when you came back to life?"

Blond Priestess
". . . How did you come to meet your Friend Lady Hoot? And what made the two of you decide to open up the School of Light and Magic?"

Knowing now that he had to regain control over the volatile situation
Agudo stood as the sweet blond young lass spoke up about Agudo and Hoots first meetings
He had taught Dr. Halfling Phil and Jerry Dwarven Springer the famous Bards of there lands how to do this.
By moving about it allowed the audience to focus on you and the words you spoke

Once more dazzling the crowd around him with his bright warm smile
He rubs his short blond beard as if truly taking the time to consider the shy girl question

Then with a whimsical look he pointed to the rear door of the auditorium
“Perhaps we should go to the source of that answer!”

With that the rear door burst open and with a gust of wind, in flew a bedazzling white owl that was none other than Lady Hoot.

She flew about the room for a moment then gently landed on Agudo left shoulder
Cheers rang out and the lovely owl took a small bow before speaking
“May your kind welcome be repaid in wise knowledge and warm friendship between us”

The Archmage of Light glanced to his left eyeing the lovely Lady Hoot
“So my dear wise friend!
Shall we tell them how we met and why we started the Agudo School of Light and Magic?”

Lady Hoot smiled like all enchanted owls could
“Why we met..... has allot to do with the School itself.
We wanted to create a place where all being of goodness came together and shared Knowledge, Light and Truth.
No matter how rich or poor.
A School that would blossom the desire of its students, to learn and grow in ones Spirit and Mind.

Nodding his head Agudo looked about the room making friendly eye contact with as many as he could.
This he believed allowed people to relax and feel they are part of a personal conversation

“Now as far as are first meeting I was stuck in this........”

Just then another spoke up, one of those Show-Boater Bards
That share there thoughts no matter what maybe happening around them at the time.
Just to get attention Agudo thought.

((OOC it’s ok that people post one on top of the other
Im just using Khaira post as an opportunity to answer questions in a story like form giving it a feel of a crowded place and.....lol...to get out of answers Im not prepared to share yet :P ))

Khaira
Yes, Lord Agudo, I have a question: there were some rumors that you were assassinated by a good friend during the war. Was this true? What were the circumstances leading up to that battle?

Also, playing into that...I heard further rumors that a man named Aravilar Holistacia took the position of power, as Headmaster and Commander of the Army of Light, in a plot to raise his own status up. I also heard that, at a later date, he bestowed one or both of those titles upon a certain bardess, friendly to you. Is this true? If so, what happened to that man when you came back to life?"

Agudo stopped in mid sentence and snapped his fingers causing his new book to arise in the air
As it did so it seem to grow larger in size its pages turning even as it moved closer next to the mighty Mage.
He could see a woman in fine cloths with her lovely red hair slightly hiding the smooth skin of her youthful face

“I see we have someone who did there homework....and as a Headmaster of a School Im most please with such in-depth questions.
On page two thousand and eight
I have dedicated whole chapter to both your questions”

Several people quickly open there books that they had bought from Agudo to see.

“Yet I will let Lady Hoot answer the question of one prideful Elvin Holistacia”

The wise white owl frowned at such a name
“It is sad to say that the old adage....Pride before the Fall
Is true with such people as Aravilar.
He burst into the school of Light, assuming for some strange reason
that Agudo had not left someone in charge in the first place”

She waited for the thought to sink in
“Me!
I was amazed at Availar delusion of grander and arrogance.

To thanks that if he wasn’t involved in the world, it would some how stop!
It was almost an insecurity within him that drove Availar to such madness.
Im happy to say that I confronted the mad Elf and put him in his place.
The School faculty quickly supported me and asked Holistacia to leave.
Let just say like everything that prideful Elf did..... it was in a Huff!”

Lady hoot flapped her wings then added
“Lord Keldorn Firecam General of the army of Light and a Radiant Heart Knight
Told me latter how the morale of his troops was effected by
Availar’s constant crying at odd times that would disturb the army

And the fact that Availar would proclaim his love for ever woman he met
Crying even more when they rejected him....Or sadly when he would dump them for the next pretty thing that came along.
Firecam honestly thought Availar was going insane.

Retaking his seat the Headmaster let out a small sigh
as he thanked Lady Hoot
And then answered the next part of the red haired Bardess question.

“The close friends you speak of is only partly true.
Khaira Amastacia, Harpist, Traveling Thespian Extra-ordinarre.
Was duped in this case to except a promotion by Availar.
She had know idea of this misguided insecure Elf’s attempt at usurping Lady Hoot at the school.
And so I hold no ill will towards her in this case for such.

Taking a moment he waited before continuing
As far as the man who attempted and in many ways succeed in killing me”

Gasps could be heard about the room.

“An amoral roguish short human named Kheldar had been paid by Messianca to end my life.
It was ironic that I had already knew the man under a former and very trying adventure.
Never the less he acted like he didn’t even know me!”

Agudo shrugged
“Perhaps that’s just the way Rogues are.
They never get attached to anyone.
The fight was huge and dramatic with even the crazed Availar making and appearance.
Distracting us both as we did battle....Mostly likely contributing to my untimely demise.
Thanks to several good friends such as Kulideb my prized student and Ruthia with her loving family with many brave others
My soul was rescued from a wicked knife that Kheldar used on me.
Thus allowing me to be reanimated in my original body.”

Clapping rang out in the room
“Now for your last question ....What happen to them?

The Last I heard Availar was put away humanly
into an insane asylum near the island town of Brynnlaw on the Sword Coast
He spends most of his time locked away, accusing everyone of being part of the Gibbering Twelve conspiracy.”

Taking sip of his now cooled spiced tea the famed Author expanded on his thoughts and writings

Kheldar has a large bounty placed on his head and several times has almost been caught.
Im happy to say that I have hurt him where he is most sensitive.
The money purse!
His Town home in Waterdeep has been seized by the local authorities
His belonging found within were sold to the poor for minuscule prices
In fact one bounty hunter all most had him
As Kheldar rascally head pop out in a Teleportation hole
The Author laughs

Let’s just say the shock on his face was priceless as he saw his expensive stuff being carried out the door.
And recently cloning lab run by a now very apologetic Gnome was dismantled
The Gnome is now in jail for conspiracy against an Archmage and helping a Murderer to escape judgment.”

The smile on Agudo face slowly vanished as he spoke of Khaira
“Ill let you read about what happen to Khaira ...it’s to painful to talk about.”

Slowly, a figure slips into the conference room. Thing is, it really isn't a person. All that there is a assortment of floating clothing, including a platinum sash, a turquoise cape, connected by a brooch, and loaded with amulets and a pair of bracers. It speaks out in a thin vioce that sounds like drawn air.

You seem to have much Prime involvment in this book. But what about planar contributions? Certainly it couldn't have been done without an outsider. It broods for a minute. By the way, you look very silly in those robes.

"Sir Agudo. Is it true that the only reason you are alive today is that you had some help from a friend? And is it also true that said friend was killed by your oh so noble Lord Keldorn Firecam, just for trying to stop your preciouse army from hurting inocent people? And aslo you seem to have skirted around my question about this supposed true history being very onsided, prehaps you are to much of a chicken to face up to the facts in this matter?"
Cloaked Figure

Buried deep in the back of the audience a figure completely cloaked in black silently watches Agudo share his stories and tales of wonder. Nobody important had seen him come in, and with any luck nobody important would see him leave.

He thought he recognized the woman speaking out against Agudo. Well, whoever she was, she was doing a fine job of flustering Agudo, and he couldn't help but admire her for it. How long would he stick around for this show? Bounty hunters where combing the countryside searching for him, and even though he couldn't spot any of the regulars hunting for him here, he wasn't exactly among friends.

Leetah was here though. . . damn her for everything. She was the reason he had accumulated a pack of "regulars." It would have been simple enough, he thought, to slash all their throats open, or display the entrails of one of them to scare the rest away. But he couldn't do that. Not now. Not after distinctly remembering the promise he had originally made her.

. . . Promise me you wont harm another good soul. Please? . .

Good grief, like any of those scoundrels counted as good. Still, he doubted Leetah would see it that way, or Agudo when it came time to confront him.

Well, there was nothing else for him here. He should be on his way anyway, he had a big day planned ahead of him. But maybe first he would pick something up. He walked over to where a vendor was selling Agudo's magnificent book about "The Messianica War" and purchased two. Next he approached a small child and knelt down to him, assigning the child what he described as a very important job. With great enthusiasm the child nodded his head and took both books from Kheldar.

This was a nerve wracking assignment! The kindly stranger not only wanted him to approach Agudo, but get two whole books signed! TWO! But if he could do it, yup, if he could do it the stranger had promised to let him keep one of them! It was exciting, even if he was nervous.

Boldly he approached Agudo. The stranger was in a hurry he said and he needed it done quickly! Butterflies raced inside his little stomach and his knees jittered more and more after each step. Finally he got as far as he could bring himself to go. . . Half way there.

"Mr. . . Mr. . . Archmage Sir? Can, Can, I have you. . . Can I have you sign my book pwease? OH! And my friend's too?

offered her famous guest some warm honey bread
that Agudo gladly accepted while waiting for the next question

Slowly, a figure slips into the conference room. Thing is, it really isn't a person. All that there is a assortment of floating clothing, including a platinum sash, a turquoise cape, connected by a brooch, and loaded with amulets and a pair of bracers. It speaks out in a thin voice that sounds like drawn air.

You seem to have much Prime involvement in this book. But what about planar contributions? Certainly it couldn't have been done without an outsider.

Im glad you ask!
For you see the Army of Light sought a wide assortment of positive help from many places.
Such as…..

Just then the phantom creature interrupted with scathing remark

Taeldrin Laesrash
It broods for a minute. By the way, you look very silly in those robes.

Agudo looked down at his robes them smirked
“Yes well coming from someone who is an obvious
shameless take off of the Invisible Man!
Im not worried about fashion criticism from such a person who wont even show his face”

Snickers could be heard in the audience and Agudo accurate jest

Just then that same haughty woman spoke up

Ruthia

That pesky woman in the back decided it was time to speak again.
"Sir Agudo. Is it true that the only reason you are alive today is that you had some help from a friend? And is it also true that said friend was killed by your oh so noble Lord Keldorn Firecam, just for trying to stop your precious army from hurting innocent people? And also you seem to have skirted around my question about this supposed true history being very one-sided, perhaps you are to much of a chicken to face up to the facts in this matter?"

The Archmage of Light raised an eyebrow at such venomous words
“The Honorable Lord Keldorn is not here to defend himself
and contrary to silly rumors spread by drunken tavern goers.
Im not Lord Firecam and cannot speak for him. :P

Yet I was not there when that sad day came when two of my dear friends went to battle.
According to General Keldorn he saw Branth betraying the army of Light
Branth position was that he was mad and frustrated over the war.
Do to all the deaths and civilians being up rooted from there homes.
So in his youthful frustraion attacked some of the army of Light solders
Instead of going to his commanding officer with his concerns.

Agudo looked down then back up rather sadden
“Im not happy at two people I care for coming to blows.
Never the less we are all of the same coin….bound together as one.
Even though im sad to say....we may be on different sides of that coin and never seem to see eye to eye

He then huffed slightly
Now once more let me say for your last (injudicious)
(EGO alert AKA Big Word)
Question that you have spoken

Agudo flushed
“When you say chicken?….if you are speaking about that wizards convention were I accidentally turned myself into ….. poultry!
Well it could happen to anyone!
I didn’t see the antimagic-fourleaf-clover put on me by Lucky Leprechaun :embarrass

The Mage shakes his head at the thought
But then Agudo smiled
“If you buy my book .....you will see easly that I have many interviews that give first hand insight to many things that took place.”

Yet let it be said about my book and its history
I was there!
I saw what happen!
I took account of not only my own view but that of Lord Keldorn
Leetah of the Healing Hand, and many others on the other side of the war.
Such as Kulideb and her followers….even towns people.

Out of the corner of his eye he could see a young boy approaching rather shyly
Seeing an opportunity to change the subject Agudo stood and went to the young lad.

Little Lad
This was a nerve-wracking assignment! The kindly stranger not only wanted him to approach Agudo, but get two whole books signed! TWO! But if he could do it, yup, if he could do it the stranger had promised to let him keep one of them! It was exciting, even if he was nervous.

"Mr. . . Mr. . . Archmage Sir? Can, Can, I have you. . . Can I have you sign my book pwease? OH! And my friend's too?

Kneeling down Agudo took the both book and smiled.
“Of course my brave you man
what is your name and that shy friend of yours?

Not to far off the Author could see a familiar symbol dangling from someone chest

Drindin
A certain dark robed figure in the back simply watches....

A certain familiar holy symbol jangles loosely as he shifts in his chair...

A pair of familiar, cold eyes stare out from the darkness...

Eyes that make you think of an iceberg floating in an ocean on a cloudy decembers midnight...

Agudo couldn’t help but wonder why that looked so familiar.
But not wanting to neglect the boy he turned and winked
“Go ahead young one let us hear those to wonderful names”
Little Lad

06-02-05, 06:11 PM
The little child squealed with glee and raced up to Agudo. His confidence increasing tenfold after receiving Agudo's friendly wink and being invited to share with the great archmage his name.

"Thank you Mr. Great Archmage Sir! My name is Tommy! Spelled, T-O-M. . . T-O-M. . . umm. . . T-O-M-Y! I'm your biggest Fan! I always get your books at the library and have my Mommy read them to me! She says they're too long, but I like 'em because it brings us together and maybe one day I can be a great archmage too!"

The young child smiled brightly at Agudo.

"And. . . And my friend says in the other book he just wants it to say, wishing. . ."

This was tricky, the child had to remember what he had been told.

"Wishing. . . you. . . a hopefully happy. . . future? Is that how it goes?" I Think that was it! Oh! And can you write hard-working Gnome in there somewhere too? It's funny, because he's not a Gnome but that's what he wants it to say!"

The small child waited in excited anticipation, what was Agudo going to write in his book?!?
Drindin

06-02-05, 11:52 PM
The dark figure spoke up in a familiarly cool and emotionless tone.

"Agudo... might I inquire about the lack of regard for the law that was played out not only in this war... but in the so-called 'trial' that was then later related to me by my young brother, and my invalid niece?"
Khaira

06-03-05, 12:16 AM
The comely red-haired Sun Elf nodded as Agudo gave an answer to her question as well as a couple of others.

"Another question for you, Archmage...I've heard tell that Khaira, that bardess of no small renown, came to the war with the sole purpose of helping you, because she feared for your life.
You say that hot-headed, egotistical Aravilar claimed himself as Headmaster, and then made this Khaira the commander of the Army of Light that fought against Messianica's forces.

But Aravilar never had that power, did he? So, he couldn't rightly give that power away, right? If that's true, how can you justify putting your friend on trial for treason against the Army of Light, when she never was sympathetic to the Army of Light, anyway?

I heard that the only reason that she was put on trial was because of a long-standing feud between her and Keldorn Firecam.

Furthermore, it was an assassin that killed you at first, right? Were you goign to put him on trial?"

The Sun Elf smiled slyly, pausing for dramatic effect, before cocking her head ever so sleightly and finishing her question.

"But didn't you have a shady, shadow wielding assassin working for you, for the Army of Light, that same army supposedly dedicated to goodness and righeteousness? Was the assassin working for you ever put on trial?
And...how do you rationalize having an assassin working for you when it was an assassin who caused all the trouble in the first place?"
Little Lad

06-03-05, 04:11 AM
The little boy held tightly onto his idol as hard as he could. He felt sorry that his hero had to answer everybody's hard questions. He wished he could protect Agudo somehow, but he was just a little boy and all he could offer the Archmage was a sympathetic whimper.
ruthia

06-03-05, 08:34 AM
That woman in the back also spoke up again.

"No Agudo, I mean chicken as in your afraid to answer the questions at hand and afraid to face the truth. One day you will see what I mean. But untill then I have a question for the lovely Lady Hoot. Miss Hoot, is it true that Agudo was once spotted Running in the Nude and that he scarred a poor young woman for live as a result?"
Arshes

06-03-05, 09:37 PM
Arshes leaned against a wall near the back, his ears twitching slightly at the annoyance of having to be around such an egotistic wizard. But that mattered not, for soon..soon psions would have the oportunity they've needed for decades to take control of the multiverse. And best of all, the mages would take the fall.

The small child waited in excited anticipation, what was Agudo going to write in his book?!?

With great pomp and circumstance the Author waved his hand
Smiling as the cute lad spelled out his name with great
Sparkling blue and white magical lights danced about Tommy’s and the prized manuscript
Enchanting his name into the leather bound book with permanent glowing letters.
Under the young boy name was an invitation to come to the Agudo school of Light and Magic. When he was old enough for his first lesson in becoming a wizard of Light.”

Its was then that Tommy struggled for his friends name

Little lad
The young child smiled brightly at Agudo.

"And. . . And my friend says in the other book he just wants it to say, wishing. . ."

This was tricky, the child had to remember what he had been told.

"Wishing. . . you. . . a hopefully happy. . . future? Is that how it goes?" I Think that was it! Oh! And can you write hard-working Gnome in there somewhere too? It's funny, because he's not a Gnome but that's what he wants it to say!"

With a slightly puzzled look he mumbled the child’s words
“Hard working Gnome?
And you say he not a Gnome?
Odd!”

Blinking as he looked about for this shy friend of Tommy’s
The Wizard eyed the boy with a smile and s light shrug
“Umm where is this friend?”

As the boy considered Agudo words and magically engraved book
An old friend long thought dead spoke up

Drindin
The dark figure spoke up in a familiarly cool and emotionless tone.

"Agudo... might I inquire about the lack of regard for the law that was played out not only in this war... but in the so-called 'trial' that was then later related to me by my young brother, and my invalid niece?"

Standing straight Agudo looked pleasantly surprised
“Drindin your alive!
Or are you?”

Agudo chuckled for he was never sure with such a grim personality as Drindin
“Last I heard Krissy was on a quest to bring you back to the mortal realm
By seeing you here I take it she was successful?

Then nodding his head Agudo partly agreed with the statement of Drindin
“War despite all the Bardic romantic tales, is hardly ever orderly
It sad to say that lawlessness did take place as Messianica forces seized towns.
Throwing out property owners and governments, including the Constables to keep the law enforced.”

Rubbing his short blond chin beard the Author seem sadden by what he said next
“Khaira .....brought her troubles on herself and the judgment that was past
Was not what I wanted but the court wanted.

Then adding with some haste
“I would have been more merciful to Khaira if it was up to me to do so.”

And not missing a chance the secretive red hair Bardess spoke up

Khaira

Agudo just stood there eyeing this slightly hidden woman do to her long red hair.
“Yes!”

He would of left it at that but thought better of it
“The mentally unbalanced elf had no authority as I stated before
To make any changes for the school......but Aravilar was a general in the army and could promote Khaira in his place as leader.

So she was by that account .....drafted.

And to answer to question about the Honorable Lord Firecam
He wisely does not trust anyone who betrays a friend
No matter how idealistic that betrayal may have been by .....”

Agudo voice cracks

“By Khaira”

Yet the barrage of questions did not stop

Khaira
Furthermore, it was an assassin that killed you at first, right?

Were you going to put him on trial?"

Those words brought a cold feeling to Agudo
He once more glanced about with those strangely familiar words in a his head
(Hard working Gnome)

Khaira
The Sun Elf smiled slyly, pausing for dramatic effect, before cocking her head ever so slightly and finishing her question.

"But didn't you have a shady, shadow wielding assassin working for you, for the Army of Light, that same army supposedly dedicated to goodness and righteousness? Was the assassin working for you ever put on trial?
And...how do you rationalize having an assassin working for you when it was an assassin who caused all the trouble in the first place?"

Putting his hands on his hips Agudo shook his head
Judgment day will come for Kheldar!

Agudo huffed
“Now I believe you speak of my close friend Gen!
He is not hear to defend himself....yet let me say
Neither I Nor the Amy of Light ever assigned him as an assassin
He used his Rogue skills for us to spy on the enemy
As far as any slander you have on him
I suggest you bring it to Gene ears.... and im sure.....”

Agudo paused for effect
“Will be glad to go over his past with you”

It was then that the lady in the far back yelled out

Ruthia
"No Agudo, I mean chicken as in your afraid to answer the questions at hand and afraid to face the truth. One day you will see what I mean. But until then I have a question for the lovely Lady Hoot. Miss Hoot, is it true that Agudo was once spotted Running in the Nude and that he scarred a poor young woman for live as a result?"

Lady Hoot flapped her wings and spoke with a slight jest in voice
“Once!
More than once has he been seen in the buff..... I assure you......”

Agudo blushed but was glad for the levity
Turning with a slight dramatic flair to speak nervously with Hoot
“But....But....If you ,mean Starbrights Margie ceremony
It was her people’s custom to be....well...in the buff”

Lady Hoot laughed
“what of that time you magically fell from the sky In the buff?”

Looking to the audience with an overly exasperated expression on his face.
“I was trying to save my life when I fell out of the window do to that slippery bar of soap in the bathing room”
I didn’t know when I cast that spell I would land on that Washwoman!

The audience brook out in a laugh

Raising his voice to be heard above the crowds laughter, a short, compact man with a shaven head and a hooked nose, unfolded his arms from across his chest, and said in a soft, slightly bored voice:

"And what happened with those people who stood by Messianica in her final hour? Is it true as the stories tell, that you commanded old men and women with their nowborn babes upon their arms to march away from Hillsfar and into a slow death in the harsh, mercyless wastelands of Anauroch?

"What was the fate of Messianicas supporters, from generals to rank-and-file soldiers, who did not perish in the final assult? And what is currently going on in the city of Hillsfar now that the population has gone?"

Shades suddenly walks in.

"That is a question I can answer. Me and Kulideb went on a journey with them up to the north, and we have built a new city for those who survived the onslaught in a grassland near a forest, where proper farming can be done, and a new life for all of us can be realized.

"Indeed, we were commanded to lead them to that horrid place, but any fault was not theirs. Indeed, most of them simply saught a new life, and belived that Messianica could give them such. And granted, her heart was in the right place, but her methods were not. But upon killing messianica, Kulideb became the new lady of hillsfar. We led them north, but stopped at the first sign of a decent settlement, away from major trading routes and populations, where they can live undisturbed."

A young man, somewhere between 15 and 25 sits in the third row, 1st seat on the straight away. His skin is pale, his eyes are filled with shadows. He seems to be enjoying himself truly, laughing inside as the questions swirling in the heads around him jumped forward towards the blustery old archmage. He takes a moment to brush blond hair out of his eyes, before suddenly snapping to attention, but not externally as to reveal to others. Closing his eyes, holding a hand to his right temple, and another to the symbol of Selune hanging just out of sight in his black tunic, he takes a deep breath, checking the surface thoughts of the people standing in the back of the room. One mind he does not recognize from earlier, but soon remembers the imprint, the same one he felt a moment before in Agudo's mind. Standing with an apology to the woman on his left, the boy moves over the carpeted ground silently, into the shadows which those in the back stood. Raising his own cowl, and fixing his cloak to hide his features, the boy stops to stand next to the cloaked figure. He glances over once, before waving his hand once in front of himself, a seemingly innoucous gesture. His voice echoes within the head of the cloaked stranger.

It is dangerous for you to be here, is it not Kheldar? Why risk it, with so many powerful individuals here.

Though the hooded man and the boy had never met, the hooded man somehow find the boy's name floating before him. Christopher

As the young boy marveld at his name on the book and still looking for his friend to get the other book sighned

Another spoke up

Savael
Raising his voice to be heard above the crowd’s laughter, a short, compact man with a shaven head and a hooked nose, unfolded his arms from across his chest, and said in a soft, slightly bored voice:

"And what happened with those people who stood by Messianica in her final hour? Is it true as the stories tell, that you commanded old men and women with their newborn babes upon their arms to march away from Hillsfar and into a slow death in the harsh, merciless wastelands of Anauroch?

"What was the fate of Messianicas supporters, from generals to rank-and-file soldiers, who did not perish in the final assault? And what is currently going on in the city of Hillsfar now that the population has gone?"

With the light merriment settling and this new question more focused on his book.
Even though this balding man’s was somewhat harsh in his description of events
Agudo was glad to answer.

Yet before the mage could speak up, another familiar person from the past came forward

Shades suddenly walks in.

"That is a question I can answer. I and Kulideb went on a journey with them up to the north, and we have built a new city for those who survived the onslaught in a grassland near a forest, where proper farming can be done, and a new life for all of us can be realized.

"Indeed, we were commanded to lead them to that horrid place, but any fault was not theirs. Indeed, most of them simply sought a new life, and believed that Messianica could give them such. And granted, her heart was in the right place, but her methods were not. But upon killing messianica, Kulideb became the new lady of hillsfar. We led them north, but stopped at the first sign of a decent settlement, away from major trading routes and populations, where they can live undisturbed."

Clearing his throat Agudo nodded his head at Shades then directed his attention to the audience.

“As stated it is true that the followers of the Messianica-Way were sent into the harsh wastelands of Anauroch......by my order.

Yet with Kulideb and Shades
I also knew with some peril and loss they could carve out a new life for the people to freely to practice there fanatical way of life.

The disruptive Anti Nature Magic’s of old there
Are slowly reseeding allowing the once rich grass lands to regroup.
It’s estimated that in another thousand years Anauroch could become a rich pasture land that it once was before ....the ...ancient battle.........

Seeing that his sermon on the cause of environmental disruptive effects of war and magic was slowly boring some in the audience.

Agudo skipped the lecture and jumped back on track

But back to the second half of the question
Messianicas military supporters, generals and rank-and-file

The generals that were captured are in jail others are on the run.
Most of the rank and file followed Shades and Kulideb to there new home

Hillsfar itself has been repopulated by Eastern-Halfling traders and farmers.
They migrated from the far eastern lands around the same time of Messianica war.
There reasons for coming are based on a Halfling prophesy that I will lecture on another time.”

It was then that Lady Chancellor Wiselyfoot added her own question
“Mr. Agudo in yer writings you say that the sadest moment in the war came not at Hillsfar.
But in the wee town of Daggerfalls.
Would ye be so kind as to read the passages from yer book on why so?’

Reaching out for his still magically enlarged floating book
It reshaped itself into Agudo hand with the pages fluttering to the chapter needed.

The Author waited as if preparing himself for this difficult reading
The room became more silent as if they could since something foreboding coming

Speaking in his warm fatherly voice
that sounded more tragic this time
Agudo began to read

“The morning sunrise of the town of Daggerfalls was crisp and clear
The air was fresh with the smell of grazed farm lands near by
With great pride the Knights of the Amy of Light marched into the center of town
There armor shining in the early rays of the sun, with there banners waving proudly above them.
Rhythmic drums and horns played on as we marched in to Daggerfalls.

I could see young ones peaking behind the windows and doors of this humble land.

Agudo looked about the room then continued

It was are first encounter with the Messianica followers
And from all early accounts this would be an easy

And what I thought uneventful first conquest

For there was no resistance coming in to town nor any hostility shown to us as we approached the night before.

I truly thought we would be welcomed as liberators of this town.

For the former mayor and religious leaders were run out of town just a year before.
Lands were seized from there owners,
All do to the fanatical followers of Messianica.

The blond hared Author glanced about and made a personal comment to his listeners

On a side note....militarily speaking what I did was a major strategic mistake
For as you will listen in theses passages I had sadly sent many to there deaths

Once more Looking down at his book he spoke more slowly.

“As we reached the center the horns and drums stopped
The elderly men, women and children came out holding each other

They stood semi circled around us...just looking at my two hundred Knights with a strange gaze.

I should have seen that there were no younger men with them.
But at the time things were still calm and we were still confident in are actions”

Agudo turned to Lady Wiselyfoot
“May I have some more tea before continuing?....its a rather difficult passage to read”

Some who could see as Agudo waited he seem more pale

Tommy's emotions were a mixture of utter delight and complete confusion. It was truly a marvel to behold his name permanently engraved in one of Agudo's books! It sparkled brilliantly right beside The Master Archmage's signature. Underneath the names was an invitation of sorts that Tommy had trouble reading - but he thought he recognized Agudo's School of Light and Magic and bounced with glee! Maybe it was an invitation to tour the school one day!

But where had the kind stranger in the black cloak gone?!?!?! Tommy would feel bad not getting the stranger's book signed. . . Maybe the stranger was really shy and had already left when Tommy had mentioned him.

Tommy thought he understood. He normally wasn't very brave when it came to confronting large crowds. As a matter of fact, with his book already signed, Tommy was beginning to feel extremely nervous beside the Archmage where everyone could see him.

"T-Thank you Mr. Agudo Archmage sir!"

Even scared as he was, Agudo was his hero and the little boy admired him tremendously.

"I. . . I think maybe my friend left. . . Maybe. . . You could still sign his book. . . umm, incase he comes back? If you sign it! Maybe I can try to find him! Or. . . or maybe you can keep his book! And he'll know to come to you when he wants it!"

That was a good idea Tommy thought! He turned to take his place back in the audience and spotted Ms. Wiselyfoot approaching with some steaming tea.

"Oh! Can I serve Mr. Agudo his tea? Pwease?"

Kheldar frowned at Tommy's handiwork. Thank the Gods Tommy wanted to become a wizard, because he made a terrible rouge.

With the added tension of Tommy's mysterious "friend" wavering in the air Kheldar did a careful scan around himself to make sure he remained completely inconspicuous. No luck, someone was approaching him. What was worse, this individual was completly enveloped with magical auras.

It is dangerous for you to be here, is it not Kheldar? Why risk it, with so many powerful individuals here.

*~Christopher~*

Yes, I know who you are Christopher Seluneson.

Kheldar pushed himself not to narrow his eyes, had never actually met Christopher face-to-face, but he knew the fellow well enough from the Darkhole Inn. The son of a Goddess. . . If there was one thing worse than Dragons and Drow, is was bloody Gods! Particularly Gods that protected Drow who claimed to be good. Kheldar continued to speak with his thoughts.

I'm here for personal reasons. . . To see old friends. . . to collect something from our prideful friend Agudo there. . . to get out of the hot sun. . .

Albeit Kheldar suspected it wouldn't be long before he was back outside in the burning heat. . . It would be a relief to get to his second destination. Tommy had to hurry up!

What brings you to this convention? Did you come just for a lark? You looked like you were enjoying yourself up there in the front.

Tommy seem very pleased with his book but was also somewhat nervous about his friend's book

Agudo wasnt sure what to do.
He could sign the book
But it wouldent have Toomy's freind name on it.
It seems that the young lad had forgotten it
And would be ashame to send the sweet boy back without the shy friend name as well.

The only thing Tommy could remember was that odd saying

Hard Working Gnome.

Wich caused Agudo frown once more
Where did I hear that he thought....he knew it was important

But with all the goings on around him, he couldent think of it yet

Seeing Lady Wiselyfoot approaching with the tea caused Agudo to relax

It was then that the young lad happily bounced up and down asking to bring the tea to Agudo

The Halfling smiled warmly at the boy and nodded in agreement and reminded him to be careful with his two books and the tea.

The woman in the back of the crowd frowned slightly as she pushed a stray white hair out of her face. Sometimes, she thought, Agudo is such a pompus old mage. She remained quiet though, waiting for the right oppertunity to embarress him again. Knowing what she did of the old fart, he would present THAT oppertunity himself...........

What brings you to this convention? Did you come just for a lark? You looked like you were enjoying yourself up there in the front.

Christopher smiles within his hood, keeping his face covered. He narrows his eyes, glancing over at Kheldar, though he could not see the man through his cowl.

Well, of course I was. Agudo is quite entertaining, especially when he makes a fool of himself. His telepathy pauses, as if he was taking a deep breath. But I am not here to see him. There are tomes within this library that I needed to look at, and I wished to speak to Lady Hoot at some point today. However, the longer this conference goes on, the less I believe I will. I wouldn't want to frighten the old bird. Again he pauses. Bad things are brewing, I feel, and this meeting has something to do with it, I know, but I can't tell what.

The telepath looks forward, both eyes on the female in the back rows. He points to her, but in no conspicious way, letting Kheldar know whom he was thinking of.

Do you know her? I got a sense from you that their is something familiar between the two of you. Her presence, and your's, adds to my unease.

Christopher smiled as the young boy got confused, and as he served Agudo his tea. But within his cowl, within his head, he worried. Something about this entire meeting, about all of this, was wrong. Something was up. But what? Chris wondered.

"Oh thank you Ms. Wiselyfoot! I'll be extra careful!"

Tommy accepted the piping hot tea and happily wobbled over to present it to Agudo.

"Here you go Mr. Agudo!"

Tommy's face shone as he smiled, this was the happiest day of his life!

But I am not here to see him. There are tomes within this library that I needed to look at, and I wished to speak to Lady Hoot at some point today. However, the longer this conference goes on, the less I believe I will. I wouldn't want to frighten the old bird.

I don't know about frightening her. Snowy Whites are commonly regarded as the most vicious of the owl species. And she can be pretty tough! Whatever it is your looking for in the library, I hope you find it. I didn't realize the school held such important books in it. . . I figured they would almost all be auto-biographies.

Bad things are brewing, I feel, and this meeting has something to do with it, I know, but I can't tell what.

Kheldar cracked one of his evil grins hidden beneath his cowl.

Oooh, trouble has a way of following me around. . .

Do you know her? I got a sense from you that their is something familiar between the two of you. Her presence, and your's, adds to my unease.

There's something we have in common. . . Kheldar half forgot his thoughts were being listened to.

Umm, what I mean is, yes, I know her. But she's hardly a reason for any concern. Frankly, You'd be hard-pressed finding a more gentle character than her.

Kheldar's posture slumped a touch.

I really wish I could go over to her and apologize. . . and to Khaira as well.

Kheldar slowly regained his composure.

But, of course, there are certain reasons why I can't do that! . . I suppose Agudo really deserves something as well.

The sound of rattling bones subtly came from underneath Kheldar's cloak.

I think I have the ~nerve~. . . but right now I wish I had the ~guts~ to ask him how he eats his corn on the cob.

I think I have the ~nerve~. . . but right now I wish I had the ~guts~ to ask him how he eats his corn on the cob.

I do.Christopher comments. My mother and I are both quite curious how he can act the way he does and call himself a servitor of Light, Good, and the Gods. His actions against Messianica's followers, though they were godless, has brought on some ire from the more humanitarian Gods. They know that generally he is good, and just, but the results of that war have been rather echoing in the divine halls. I can't speak for the Triad, or for the nature gods, but I can speak for Selune. Agudo has a long way to go before he is forgiven for what he has done to some. Something about this last monologue seems particularly vehement for the calm Christopher. I wonder....

Christopher closes his hidden eyes for a moment, allowing his telepathy to keep his sight on the room. Finding the little lad Tommy easily, a telepathic compulsion that will feel like a thought in Tommy's head is sent by the son of Selune.

spill the tea, tommy. right on to agudo, spill it, come on, spill it. Spill the tea tommy. spill the tea, Tommy. right on to Agudo, spill it, come on, spill it. Spill the tea Tommy. Spill the tea, Tommy. Right on to Agudo, spill it, come on, spill it. Spill the tea Tommy.

Slightly stooping to take hold of the tea from the very young boy
The Wizard smiled at Tommy and gave the boy a pat on the shoulder
“Why thank you!
Aren’t you the hardest working.... lad ...of ...the ...land.

Agudo chuckled and was just about the sip the hot tea when it dawned on him
Yet without missing a beat Agudo continued to smile and glance at Lady Hoot.

She turned her snowy white head to regard her close companion
Even though it was only a moment of time, It was obvious that the two were some how communicating

With an arched eyebrow and nod of her head
Lady Hoot flew over to Tommy and gave a polite bow.

“Hello Tommy.
Agudo has been so impressed with you Tommy that he has given you a secret project to do.

Leaning in she whispered in Tommy ear

Agudo just loves those Hard working Gnomes and even though your friend isn’t a Gnome
It would make Agudo so happy if you took me to see this shy friend of yours.
In fact if you look at the second book its now magically signed as well.

Looking down at the book everyone near by could now see that it had a soft glow to it.
But unlike the golden glow on Tommy Book this one had a deep red glow

Some sitting near them wondered how that happens
For the mage didn’t even batter and eye lash
let alone say some magic words

Even Lady Wiselyfoot was surprised but then thought

Well that be the difference between a Wizard and an Archmage
Hmmm good thing this be a friendly book signing

She smirked

I hate to be on the short end of his temper if he can cast magic wile drinking tea

The lovely White owl added
“Come Tommy this so called friend of yours wants see a special rock I have around my neck”

Sure enough there was a small coal like rock tied with a string around her feathery neck

The Archmage of Light still standing on the stage took a long sip of his tea
He couldn’t help but have a sly smile as he got ready to finish his speech

“Now where was I?
Ahh yes

We had left the main body of the Army of Light back at the near by camp.
As myself an select group of Knights now stood in the middle of what look like a simple town.

Lady Penelope leader of this Knightly regiment loudly declared.
Attention good folks of Daggerfalls
We have come to restore your rights to land and home!
You many now practice freely your right to choose your religion!

It was then that I noticed the strange look in there eyes and slow shuffling of feet.
The wee children no more that seven let go of the mother’s skirts to reveal huge butcher knives.

The very sight caused Lady Penelope to stop in mid sentence
Never in all her years in training as a Knight .
prepaired her for such a terrifying sight as this.
She like the rest of us didn’t even know how to respond

Some of my solders took several steps back
All the while pleading for the children to stay back.

Agudo voice seems to rise with each word
clear stress could be heard from this great Mage.

The elderly town folks and young women suddenly had axes and pitchforks in hand.

The now obviously sweating Author paused as he glanced about the room then once more speaking quickly

“I could hear the fear in the voices of my troops as they so desperately begged them all to stay back
Several Mages were in the middle with me
We looked at each other for just a second knowing what we needed to do
A mixture of Magic was called for.
Resist Fear spell for our buckling troops and just the opposite for the deranged towns folk
A Fear Spell that would....we hoped caused them to drop there weapons and run away.

At first everything seem to go as planed .
The Knights regrouped and pushed back the children slapping away their tiny hands that held the knives with the longer swords that the Knights held.
But the Fear Spell.....only dazed them for a second
As if a struggle of the mind was taking place
Then from a top the roofs a mighty barbaric yell was heard
as the men folks finally showed there fanatical heads.

The mayor of the town a crusty female Dwarf if there ever was one.
Through down a fifty pound rock on top of Penelope
Arrows rained down from the others
and it was then that the struggle wore off from the elderly
As they charged forth into the ranks of the Knights

The screams...the pure carnage.....

Agudo eyes become misty

Each Wizard started casting what ever spell came to her or his mind.
Some elevated above the fray to get a better vantage point
only to be hit by falling debris being tossed from the tall buildings near by

While casting my own spell I watched as a charming illusionist Gnome was picked up and hurled into a burning building
That had accidentally caught fire just moments before by another Mages Lighting spell

My own spell went off at that moment
freezing some of the fanatics on top of that same burning building

The pressure of the ice and the weaken timbers below that supported the building was to much
The whole thing came crashing down in a deafening roar

Strangely all the while
I couldn’t help but think how the Gnome and I had just shared morning tea safely in my tent back at the camp.

To this day for some strange reason I cant remember that Gnomes name.....

The blond hair Wizard voice cracked.

That noise alone im sure
brought forth the Amy of Light from the near by camp
for within a short hour we had regained........ control?

A tear came down his cheek.
Almost none of the town people survived...... I have ...I have...never seen so many dead children in all my life

Tommy's eyes went as wide as saucers. Agudo had been nice enough to sign the nice man's book after all! And what made it better, Lady Hoot was giving him a secret project directly from The great archmage Agudo himself!

Tommy's head bobbled up and down as he agreed to do the secret project.

"Ok! I can try to find him! Ummm. . . I saw him in the audience. . . we was wearing a black cloak. . . and. . . and. . . and"

Tommy's focus suddenly switched over to something completely different. He curiously looked at the tea cup he had proudly presented to Agudo a few moments ago.

". . . and. . ."

"Tommy turned around and started wobbling his way back to Agudo, holding his signed book in one arm and reaching out with his other."

Last I heard from a friend the Triad are generally pleased with Agudo. . . Well at least Torm certainly is. . . HUH?! What in the Nine Hells is that kid doing now?!?

Kheldar had been anticipating Tommy's return. And just as the little kid had looked like he was on his way back to the crowded audience, he turned around and started walking towards Agudo again.

Urrgh! Just whose side is that damned kid on?"

"Dead children you say?!?"

A tall man wearing a wide brimmed hat stood up so everyone could see him project his question.

"I don't get it. . . couldn't you have used your magic spells to make them go to sleep?"
Blond Priestess

06-12-05, 01:13 AM
The girl seated in the back of the auditorium began to feel ill. Hearing Agudo's voice crack in front of the audience vexed her heart with sorrow, and watching the tear run down her friend's cheek whilst others glared at him like hungry predators almost brought on a few tears of her own.

Why was everyone so bent on ruining Mr Agudo? Couldn't they see how the war was affecting him too? Nobody was proud of the events that followed shortly after the initial contact, but Mr Agudo could hardly be held responsible for it all. The atrocity that befell Dagger Falls had happened as a result of the front-line soldier's panicking because Messianica's followers had began attacking them, not because an order was given to decimate the poor village. Originally the Army of Light had hoped to negotiate with the warmongering nation in hopes of avoiding a conflict all together.

The priestess knew that this is what had happened, and she knew that Mr Agudo had marched his troops forward with the best of intentions in mind. What had resulted from these intentions had been a tragedy no one could have predicted, and understandably, a lot of people were upset about it. . .

. . .But blaming the entire thing on Agudo was unfair. He had only tried his best to snuff out the conflict before it gave way to a much larger scale war. What would have happened if Messianica's rule stood unopposed? How much larger would her sphere of influence have grown? How much more devastating would the war have been if Agudo hadn't have acted when he did? How many more would be joining the dead?

Leetah wished she had the courage to voice these comments out loud, but she knew that she didn't. She hated arguing with others, and she didn't want anyone to be upset with her because of her views. But it tore her apart to watch everyone lash against her friend. Leetah nervously bit down on her lip, unsure about what she should do next. . .

The woman smircks again as she thinks of another question.

"Yah um, mister Almighty Archmage. I have another question for you. Did you ever get your teeth back, or are you still being refered to as the toothless wonder in some parts of the worlds?"

The woman looked at the little boy up front with Agudo and also began adding her will into the power that was pushing him, willing he spills the tea on the ArchAlmightyButt.

Christopher detects the telepathic flair from the woman, and finds the unhidden psychics very childish. Reaching out with his mind, undetectable to all but psions of equal power, Christopher reaches around to stop Tommy.

stop Tommy, turn around and come to me. stop Tommy, turn around and come to me. stop Tommy, turn around and come to me. stop Tommy, turn around and come to me. stop Tommy, turn around and come to me, now!

The compulsion, shaped as a thought to be taken or ignored, now placed, is no longer Christopher's concern. Instead, defending the boy's mind from anymore possible unfriendly, ill thought out telepathy is. Focusing a little more of his energy, Christopher surrounds the young boy with an invisible barrier against psion intervention. He edits the standard abilities of the shield though. He leaves it open to himself, just in case Tommy's services are required. He then turns his attention to the meddlesome woman in the back rows. Hiding his power's signature with a little extra energy, the Telepath sends a booming message.

There are reasons that only few are gifted with true telepathic power, and many go insane from having it. Please, do not use such powers without thought. This poor child is not in any position to be ordered, just influenced. Do not attack him again, or I shall shred your mind.

He turns his thoughts to Kheldar, his mental voice sounding rather peeved.

I am now truly worried by that woman.

Tommy steps up to Agudo and with his reaching-out hand swipes the Archmage's tea! He was determined more now than ever to dump the tea all over his idol's lap! He began tipping the cup then stopped to consider. Only a slight trickle of tea escaped the teacup and even that still hugged onto the outside surface of the cup.

Tommy turned around, tea cup slightly dripping in his hand, and began approaching Christopher. Psionic power told him to approach the strange young man. Arcane power compelled him to spill the tea.

The mismatched orders would not bode well.

Tommy gets up to Christopher, and then with a completely perplexed expression across his unsure face, attempts to spill the tea on Christopher's robes.

Arshes entered the stage area once again, this time accompanied by seven cloaked figures. Agudo Archmage. tell us, isn't it true that, in your youth, you partook in the Arcane wars? And also that you aided in the massacre of hundreds of people, many of them innocent psions who wanted nothing do to with the war?
Lord Tarran

06-12-05, 10:19 PM
Christopher, his face still hidden by his hood, seems not at all perplexed by the hot tea that is poured onto his robes. Because the cloth is black, none see it, but the tea entered the cloth and immediately disappeared. Christopher bends down to the boy, touching one finger to his forehead, before speaking aloud. There is a strange echo in his voice.

You may now sit, Tommy, and watch the proceedings. I would suggest going to apologize to Agudo and getting him more tea, though. Also, after you have pours Agudo's tea and sit down, you never saw me, never heard of me, and were never influenced by telepathy of any kind.

Christopher smiles in his hood as he stands, knowing that the compulsion was placed. He then turns his attention to the eight figures near the stage. He doesn't need to look into their auras to know it, all were psions. Concentrating for a moment to throw a barrier around the mind of Agudo, Christopher turns towards Kheldar, for the first time speaking aloud to the assasin. Something about his voice, though, is deeper than before, more sibilant.

There is some of the trouble I expected, be on your guard.

Lord Tarran

06-12-05, 10:55 PM
Though he remains unseen, Christopher's voice rings loud and clear in the minds of the strangers.

I can defend him because I know him truly, on a level you shall never know him. That, and the atrocities you speak of never happened. The creatures that did do what you speak of merely used simulacrums of the great archmages to turn your angers. I apologize that you have had the sorry state of every other self-centered psion bastard and not studied any magic to balance yourself out. I knew of the crimes then, and told all of you the truth, though all ignored me. Back down, psions, I would not want to end you here.

I myself have kept my power watered down to but a fraction of its true potential, in order to keep from being noticed by such god like people as you. I have little time to deal with you quasi diety. "WHAT!?"

Leetah jumped out of her seat and found herself staring at the latest newcomer with a look of complete bewilderment and horror. She then noticed that her voiced protest had gained her the attention of all too many members in the audience. The priestess blushed as she carried on with what she wanted to say.

"That's a lie sir, it has to be. Or otherwise, you must be confusing Mr Agugo with another archmage. Mr Agudo would never do something like that!"

Leetah gave a quick look around her and realized that the prying eyes of the audience hadn't gone anywhere. Did they expect her to say more? But Leetah didn't know what to say! Desperately the girl searched for words.

"Mr Agugo's the kindest and most gentle person I know. His actions are for the benefit of the realms and its people. He-AGH!"

Leetah let out a shrill cry as she felt a strong tug on her arm fling her back into her seat.

The man who had forced Leetah back into her chair was a rather stocky fellow who smelled like he had just came from the local tavern. He was also a man who showed the most magnificent amount of glee every time something was stated against Agudo's good name, so he definitely didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to hear about this killing of innocence the archmage had just been accused of!

"Do tell more esteemed traveler! I wish to hear all about this war and Agudo's heinous crimes!"

You will be quiet. If you want more information on what happend, then I can take all of you there myself. With the help of a certain artfact I had aquired a few months ago. Arshes threw the human into the air with an unseen flick of his wrist, and the man flew into the air, spun around, and slammed into the ground. He then slammed into the ground twice more. Now, mybe you'll learn to be nice to ladies.
Arshes turned back towards the stage, cleared his thraot and said, Ahem, now, as I was saying. the archamge here, while he was a mere wizard, let a charge against a twon held by a force of warlocks. A town that he ordered the destruction of to keep it from being an asset to the warlocks. When all the occupents were fleeing, a clan of vampires struck them, killing many and turing others, like myself, into half-vampires. You see, I have a very personal score to settle with the puny archamge there. and I now challange him to a duel of honor. An Archmage versus an Archpsion. And if the quasi diety tries to stop the match, agudo instantly forfiets and must disband his academy and forever give up magic.
Arshes now threw of his cloak, reavealing a topless, well muscled and pale body. Tattoes covered every inch of him, save for his eyes and mouth. Hsi eyes glowed with an inner power.
Drindin

Drindin flew to his feet.

"ENOUGH!" He hollered. Suddenly, the air seemed... stifled. As if all magic, and all energy was just suddenly removed from the room. "We need not see any more blood shed than already has! Personal or not, take it away from here! Has not enough been done? Have not enough people died! Has my good brother and innocent niece not seen enough? Can there be no peace! No time for order to reign over chaos?"

Drindin's hood flys back from his head in a sudden gust of wind, revealing the pale, drawn face of a half-vampire, also known as a Katane, wincing, he quickly pulls his hood back up, yet the field he cast still remains.

"...has not enough evil corrupted my body?" He says far more calmly.

"You think being half-undead your whole life is bad? I was raised from the dead, only to find the evils that had tainted the battle fields of Hillsfar had seeped into my well hidden grave, corrupting my flesh. Is there not enough evil in the world?"

Kheldar looked about in all directions. With all the chaos and confusion whirling around him, right now presented his best chance of escaping unnoticed.

First, however, he needed what he had come for! He curiously looked at the book Agudo had prepared for him. The red glowing letters weren't there any more, but they could have been on the other side of the book's cover, or else temporarily suppressed from Drindin's field. Regardless. . . that book had to be a trap! In his experience, picking up anything with a red glow was asking for trouble!

That only left one other signed book. . .

Quickly Kheldar crept close to young Tommy and loosened the little lad's book from under his arm. With the stolen gift in his greedy paws, the roguish assassin promptly left the convention.

OoC:
((When the OoC messages start appearing you know there's trouble! ;) What Drindin did is fairly acceptable. Setting up an anti-magic field or something to that effect does hamper what each character can do. But over all it's not too restrictive and generally (albeit sometimes begrudgingly) acceptable. As Arshes mentioned this is not Drindin's thread - However, this is not Arshes' thread either. What might look like an interesting set-up that could potentially change every character's life, can also be seen as a destructive force harmfully effecting this thread. . . and in this case I think it is. What's going on here is a convention where people from around the land have come to ask Agudo about his new book, as well as raise other questions about the Archmage. In this sense Arshes is correct in doing what he's doing. Agudo did say it was allowed for angry people to come to him with complaints about previous events. However, it is not ok to start a brawl. . . which is what's developing here. To some extent a minor brawl was happening between Lord Terran using Tommy as a pawn against Agudo, Ruthia also jumped in at the end. This probably should have been avoided. Fighting in this thread should try to be kept to just words. :) Agudo, as well as every other character in the Map of the Planes, is in total control of his character's past, present, and future. That is to say, although Agudo's character might be accused of doing something horrible in the past, Agudo is in full control of whether that's statement about his past is true or not. Arshes cannot effectively say Agudo has done evil in the past any more than Agudo can say Arshes attended a wedding as a flower girl. Every player is in total control of their characters and it is up to them how they respond to what others say and do.

In any case, It's alright for Arshes to accuse Agudo of doing something down-right horrible. Although, this may not actually be the case. Fighting should not be done unless both players consent to it (and especially because this is not a combat-oriented thread the DM should also approve of it as well.)

. . . This OoC message will soon self-destruct, after all this is an in-character thread.)) :)

Laughing outloud she grins in delight as everything seems to sprial out of control even faster then before with people challanging Agudo to a duel, Drindin Damping all magic effects in the room and was that.....Yes she was pretty sure she had seen Kheldar slip through yet another trap set for him by Agudo. Yup sitting in the back of the room as working to her advantage, she could see everything happening in the room. Though she wasn't about to tell Agudo that Kheldar had appartantly slipped through again, she would just remain sitting where she is enjoying the fact that he wasn't as all powerful as he seemed. Leetah looked onward with horror in her eyes. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Who was this new stranger, and why had he brought such carnage to this quaint auditorium? Sure the heat in the room had been steadily increasing because of all the questions that had been asked of Mr Agudo. . .but now. . .

"Uuugh"

Leetah looked down as she heard a terrible moan, she then let out a startled shriek.

"Heeelp meeeeeeeeeeee"

Lying in a pool, of his own life blood, was the robust man who tugged Leetah back down on her seat. Terrible bruises covered his arms and face, and several bloody teeth laid scattered across the ground beside him. The man's face was twisted into a terrifying guise of anguish. Leetah knelt beside the poor fellow, and gently placed a hand on his shoulder. She then whispered a silent prayer.

Slowly, the pain in the man's face began to fade away, but the bruised brute had lapsed into a state of unconsciousness. He was suffering from a horrible concussion. Looking up nervously at Agudo, Leetah wondered what fate awaited her wizard friend.

“Yes!

As I stated before each Wizard started casting what ever spell came to her or his mind.
Taking a deep breath Agudo lest a long breath out.

But allow me to clarify
For you see like Barbarian rage...Messianica people had religious fanaticism
That protects enraged beings from Fear, Sleep even Stun spells to a point.

At least not those who practice righteousness!
Only evil fears my truths of shining Light into there wicked ways!

Whatever war you speak of has nothing to do with me.

It happened all at once. Arshes' cloaked servant Ardinth revealed a silver brilliant energy blade and Kheldar had his repeater crossbow pointed at the man's eyes and throat.

"You see, even though I despise arcane spell casters, I can not tolerate a thief."

Kheldar spat back his own words at the Archpsion, matching the Psion's dialect exactly.

"Lu' Usstan h'ros fre'sla lodias vel'uss inbau wun ussta i'dol! Ji l' tejmook'cinkjuu zhah mutual!"*
*And I can't stand people who get in my way, so the feeling is mutual.

But the cloaked figure before Kheldar was the least of his worries. . . The stolen book he had taken from Tommy began to feel heavier. . . fleshier. . . and. . . hairier?

The book's form suddenly changed from the valued and highly thought of History book by Agudo. . .

Into. . . . . into?

What is that!?!?!

A dirty naked form that grabbed hold of Kheldar in it's beefy arms right as the rogue tried to make his daring escape!

“Me boy!"

"Tis YoOOoUUuu ...me back-stabbing partner in crime!"

And with a drunken laugh he added.

“Ha, thou must have really made mad that stinking, pipe-smoking mageling to ask for me low-down help."

"But ye know!"

"I not be doing it fer the big bounty on thee."

"I do it as a matter of . . . . . Honor among thieves. . . . ."

"Buhahahahah!!!"

"Thou aren't happy to see me?"

"Yer looking for something prettier like that candy tush healer Leetah?"

"Ahahahahah"

"Ye be pretty low Kheldar!..... thieven' from a boy like Tommy!"

"Hahaha!"

"What?! Ye not going to give me a kiss?"

With that this soiled looking naked dwarf reached out to bite Kheldar's nose off.

Could it be!

Is it?

Yes that’s right it's. . . . .

http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongrocky.gif

". . .Rocky?!??. . ." Kheldar stammered as his eyes involuntarily searched the dirty Dwarf's completely exposed body.

Yep. . . there was no denyin' it. . .

"AAAAAUUUCK! ROOOCCKKY!!!!"

Kheldar covered his fragile eyes to protect them from the harmful effects of beholding such horrible ugliness.

"I said if I ever looked at that body without clothes again I would. . ."

Forcefully Kheldar broke free from the Dwarf's constricting squeeze just before Rocky's clamping teeth chewed his nose off.

". . .I would!. . ."

Kheldar's crossbow snapped towards Rocky and he unloaded a full volley of bolts towards his naked nemesis. His accuracy, however, was none-too-good seeing as he couldn't see, but he risked opening his eyes just long enough to rapidly reload his crossbow and unload another volley at the Dwarf.

But the only thing that marked the Dwarf's body was the dirt and grime that already clung onto it. Two cases worth of bolts stuck uselessly into the floor and various parts of the walls and ceiling.

An unsettling cry escaped Kheldar's mouth. Why hadn't Agudo been merciful and just cast Phantasmal Killer on the book?

Survival instincts began to kick in and Kheldar desperately pulled out his broom of flying. If Ardinth could produce a brilliant energy weapon and Agudo could summon Rocky, then clearly whatever anti-magic field Drindin had conjured up was gone. Kheldar jumped onto his broom and like a rocket sped out of the room and far, far away from the chewing, spitting, smelling, muscle-bound, Gold Digger Dwarf that was his arch-enemy!

“You know Hoot!
I don’t know what was more fun....
Seeing the disgusted look of Kheldar face as Rocky manhandled him in all his buff glory
(Snicker)
Or that fact that my next publication will be a tell all book titled
(Snicker)
Kheldar and the Naked Dwarf who Hugged Me!

Lady Hoot let out a pleasant sweet laugh knowing full well that this will not end until Agudo and Kheldar did battle once more

The long blond mage hair added
"Can you just see his face as the Bards in every tavern
read from such a book to the patrons?

Lady WiselyFoot shook her head wearily
Not sure what went wrong in her prestige’s Library of Candelkeep
Never before had so many hecklers come to her isolated place of knowledge
Never before has she seen so many drunken arrogant people
She could only hope that the reputation of CandleKeep would survive

Holding up her hand she yelled
“Well....umm thank you all for coming
Umm yes Pffshs!
The honorable Author Agudo has many pressing appointments
But let’s give him big round pf applause

The auditorium broke out in aloud applause
Some were not sure if they were clapping for the book reading
Or the spektical that took place

Yet the Archmage of Light never to miss a chance to take a bow
Gladly did as he waved at the many fans and some not so friendly folk.

“It’s been an honor to attend such a well respected place of Knowledge such as this”

Lady Wiselyfoot shook his hand and wipes her brow after words
“Uhh Good sir Agudo...is...is all your Book readings like this?”

The wise white owl smirked charmingly at the question
“Lets just say at least this time only one person lost there cloths do to magic”

OOC Thank you all for playing :D u made this a grand fun short story
If any of you still have questions feel free to ask as Agudo makes his way to the exit

Drindin sat exhasperated back down. The chaos surrounding him was a stifling force. Pulling his hood back up, he looked over at his long lost brother. "How fares the Lady Kulideb?" Shades looked back, and did not respond. Drindin decided not to pry.

Working her way to Agudo's side as he leaves, the loud mouth woman soon catches up to him. Looking at Lady Hoot with a wink she says in a calm, quiet voice

"So old friend, where will the next adventure take you?"

Laughing at the look on his face the annoying lady from the back reveals herself as Ruthia, white dragon of Pern. With another wink she leaves the auditormium to parts unknown.

Shaking so many hands from well wishers Agudo was barley paying attention to the person coming up next to him.

Ruthia
Working her way to Agudo's side as he leaves, the loud mouth woman soon catches up to him. Looking at Lady Hoot with a wink she says in a calm, quiet voice

"So old friend, where will the next adventure take you?" .

Barely glancing to his side he smiled at such a warm hello.
“Well were off to the realm of ….”

Laughing at the look on his face the annoying lady from the back reveals herself as Ruthia, white dragon of Pern. With another wink she leaves the auditormium to parts unknown.

Lady Hoot leans over and chuckles
“Im sure it was all in good fun on her part”

Agudo rolled his eyes
“Yes and remind me to send a shape changing book to Ruthia on her next Birthday
Perhaps it will be Keldorn in the buff puting his arms around her”

Lady Hoot laughed as the two made there way out the door
