Glistening upon the pinnacle of a great mountain lays a great tower. Such is the size that the clouds obscure the top. Inside, an invisible force greets all visitors, who find themselves in a grand entrance hall, the ceiling high enough to admit the largest of dragons. The hall itself is empty, but lit by a faint glow which seems to come from all directions. There are hundreds of doors which branch off of the hall, many sounds emanating from them. At the end of the hall, several hundred feet away, a pure white marble staircase is visible, spiraling upward. Along its many steps are portraits of archmages long past and of famous wizards of yore.

"Welcome to the Council of Archmages," a voice calls from nowhere. To the left of the entrance is a small desk. Behind the desk sits an apprentice wizard. The apprentice opens a gilded book, which has on each page a place for you to sign your name.

To the receptionist's right, another gilded hall leads to a set of doors. Upon each door rests a bronze plaque.

"Adros of Netheril, Founder" reads one.
"Finwe, Zenith Archmage of Temporal and Planar Magic" reads the second.
"Camaris Dulsaer, Zenith Archmage of Fire" reads a third.
"Aravilar Holistacia, Zenith Archmage of Elven High Magic" reads the fourth.

Upon a fifth door it is obvious a plaque once rested there. None now inhabit that office, but any wizard can tell you a faint aura of evil resonates from behind that door.

Upon a sixth door no plaque is hung, but ancient arcane runes are carved over each square inch of the door. Waves of ancient magical energy emanate from behind the door. The arcane energies coming from this room are visible even to those untrained in the arcane arts.

To your right as you enter the tower is a large dining hall. Continuing through the dining hall, you see a set of stairs leading to the outside of the tower, to the mage duel arenas, made of solid adamantine to protect those not in the duels.

As you walk straight down the long entrance hall, you spot several rooms leading from it. Classrooms, bedrooms, and the like; all rooms were decorated in the same, noble style, some filled with apprentices, some with visitors, and some few with weary travelers, looking for a place to stay.

A door ajar leads to a .vast courtyard. In it are several buildings, one obviously a great temple to mystra, another a barracks for those wishing to train in the less subtle arts of swordplay, and several other scattered structures. However, none rival the magnificence of the tower.

You continue back inside to find a door at the end of the hallway, which is marked "Council Chambers".

Entering the door, you appear to be inside a spectacular room with a raised podium at one end, a long table behind, and many rows of seating facing it. This must be the debating room.
--------------------
Many archmages were gathered in the room listening to the words of one man: Adros, the High-Leader of the Council of Archmages.

After some opening remarks, he sat down in the center of the long table behind the podium.

One Archmage spoke up: "Good evening, everyone."

There was a general murmur of assent.

Aravilar smiled for a moment before continuing. "Our first topic of the day is..."

((OOC: this is a general roleplaying thread for anyone who would wish to join. You do not have to be a member of the council of archmages, nor do you even have to be a spellcaster.

We only ask that you follow the CoC and take OOC comments and posts to the OOC thread, titled "OOC: Council of Archmages".

Welcome! I've...just...got a few comments, nothin' too major.

Behold our most sacred law: The Freedom of Destiny. Usually, it's there so combat is fair...but I might as well be a jerk and yell at someone even at a minor infarction. Or else, I'd...actually...be nice. And we can't let that happen, no siree.

Anyway, it just means you can't type someone's response for them, in the event that they're another Player Character (PC). Only they can type their character's actions, and the PC attempting to interact with them can only attempt to do things, unless...naturally...using D&D rules or whatever, it's unavoidable. For instance, a massive wall. You can have the massive wall close in on the hapless person, but their reaction is theirs alone.

Hence...please edit your post. I love to see this thread get more people, but I don't like people typing what others say or do. For instance:

Gene stepped up behind Agudo, and depressing his knee onto Agudo's coccyx, ripped the garrote through the Archmages throat.

That's a more severe statement, though. . Er...here's something lighter.

And then Gene said to Branth "From now on, you'll call me God." The poor dragon replied "Y-yes!"

You see? Freedom of Destiny. You'll learn to appreciate it when threads get combative. Anyway...happy posting, and enjoy yourself!

(( Ooh! And more!

Here's the easiest way to know what's FoD violating, and what's not. What can your character control entirely? His body, his mind-linked familiars, maybe dominated living things, and your own PC's/NPC's. For instance, if your Wizard was sick of Gene's sarcasm:

Aravilar murmured obscure, ancient words, weaving complex symbols that burned into the air. Raising his arms powerfully above him, he then attempts to merely touch the Shadowdancer.

Gene's Response
As the elven man's finger made contact, Gene's body dissapeared into an almost comical puff of smoke...and where the Shadovar-blooded man once stood, was a squirrel.(Or frog, or rabbit, or hamster, or rat, or whichever. ))

Or...

As the elven man's finger made contact, a plume of smoke rose from the ground beneath him...but when it cleared; Gene was still standing, a simple smirk on his features as he cooly said: "There's no tomarrow for you, sunshine."

There, more proper examples, heh!))

BTW, this forum can be joined by anyone-you don't even have to know a lot about magic OOC.

Sitting on his seat poisitoned to Adros's right, Finwe turns his head from side to side, observind calmly the rest of the Archmages. Finally, he speaks, in acommanding yet soft voice, which neverthless can be heard by all in the room. "This is the first time in many years that the entrie council has assembled in full. Because of this, I think we should all take this time to realize that our fifth Zenith Archmage has left our ranks, gone for reasons that shall remain undisclosed. Any of you who were once his apprentices may try to find a new one, or may now, if can past the test, become archmages in your own right. Thankyou all, now continue, Aravilar..." Finwe then retreats further into his chair, his face partially obscured.

A man with blue clothes embedded with gems stands up.His deep green eyes and black hair make him look younger than he is.A brooch which looks like a mace inside a snowflake holds his ample cloak. He starts speaking with an accent that seems extraplanar. "And who will be chosen as the 5th zenith archmage? If I may,I suggest that I,Malyss Dragan, archmage of counterspelling and defensive magic, take this place. As one of the council's oldest and most respected members,it is my duty."
Finwe

01-04-04, 09:29 PM
Stiring again, Finwe adresses Malyss's request: "There shall be no replacement; Mystra has decreed it. Now there shall be only four." He seems to pause, but then says "However, should any sign of a reason for a new candidate be shown, then your offer may be considered, Malyss Dragan."
Malyss the defender

01-04-04, 09:37 PM
"Mystra? As much as I respect you,I demand that you restrict from applying your religious beliefs to this council, master Finwe.Mystra does not have anything to do with our matters.I respect your decision of not having any replacements for the 5th zenith archmage though.
Finwe

01-04-04, 10:09 PM
"*I* was born before the time of Mystra, and have outlived many of her predicessors. It is not for my religious beliefs that I listen to her decrees, but for the sake of our leader, Adros, and a fellow Archmage, Aravilar, who both are beleivers."

I respect their beliefs but they should not interfere with the council.

Aravilar nodded vehemently. "Being chosen of the goddess of spells is not for me to take lightly, Malyss."

"I believe our first order of business should be to compile a membership roster for ourselves. Seems to be an item we do not have on file," Aravilar suggested.

"Would anyone wish to take up this roster?" Aravilar waited for an answer.

"There are other forces that influence this council other than merely the archmages who sit here today. Have you ever defied a goddess? it is not an experience to repeat."

OOC (Whole post, sorry):

3 things:

Item A) Great idea. IC forums are always fun.

Item B) What's the sub-genre, anyway? I mean: are we going for "dramatic," "Comedy," etc etc? If we get to vote on it, I'm goin' for comedy.

The point of an OOC thread is to post entirely OOC posts.

I will answer your questions there.

A shadowy figure sits in the corner of the council chamber and listens intently to the words at hand.

It grumbles audibly and shifts its weight uncomfortably whenever Mystra's name is mentioned. More than once, the words "What good can she possibly do us?" are whispered through the lipless snear of the lich wizard.

Using the threat of fighting Gods as an opening, the lich wizard stands erect with such force and speed that his lavish chair falls back behind him. As soon as he realizes everyone's gaze is resting upon his ancient and powerful form, he draws in a deep breath (if only out of habit) and booms out to the Council with the unexpected voice of a healthy young man from the North:

I propose that we gather a team of volunteers to unlock the fifth room, disable its traps, and find whatever secrets its previous occupant may have held dear. After all, what is the point of this Council if we are not to grow strong by the spread of magical knowledge? Whatever we may find will surely help further the agendas of the Council. Besides, it might be "fun." Also, if the Council will allow for it, I would also like to request my place as head of the volunteer group for the aforementioned task.

The lich wizard, known only as Ravendark to the Council (for even the Coucnil's powerful diviners knew not his real name!), than stood as still and silently as would a lifeless corpse - anxioulsy waiting for a reply from his fellow peers.

OOC: My avatar's accent, physique, and posture are all eerily similar to Snape from the Harry Potter movies. Just a tidbit to help you picture him.
aravilar_holistacia

01-05-04, 04:16 AM
Aravilar listened to the lich's words before choosing his own.

"Lord Ravendark... We may not do anything without Adros's direction, of course," Aravilar gestured to the archmage at the table's head.

"I say, let the mystery of the fifth stay a mystery. Let the dead or lost stay that way... Not even we should have the right to intrude on the privacy of one such as the fifth."

Aravilar motioned for the lich to sit again. "We are all powerful enough here to understand the conplications in doing some things we would wish to do. As I said, some things are better left to the winds."
Raven Dark

01-05-04, 05:51 AM
The lich stares at Arivilar indignantly through the hellish flame red orbs that make up his eyes. He plainly ignores his companions request for him to sit.

"Best left to the winds? You speak the words of a fool Arivilar. To let magic lie alone in the grips of time is to give it the chance to evolve into a force that could potentially threaten all the council. It is best that we are at least aware of what is in the pocket dimension that is known simply as The Fifth. Alas, I am in no mood to quibble with the likes of you. We shall indeed let Adros decide the matter."

OOC: Who the heck is Adros? I though the founder was AoN (Archmage of Netheril). Was he replaced or have a name change or what?

The lich then turns to address Adros.

"Winds can be treacherous and even deadly. I bade that you think carefully on this course."

suddenly all lights in the room where allready 7 of the archmages where garthered when out. the room was filled with shadows and some sinister sounds.

slowly the light turned back on and one by one the shadows rethreathed in the middle of the room but when they finally fully rethreathed it seemed that they weren't just shadows, no it was a man, or better said a drow. he spoke:

"you summoned me? what urgent matter has happened that needs the full suppord of me, Quarius Citaikaira, high archmage of Shadows?"

Ravendark looks over at the new arrival plaintively, as if he had seen all of it before. "Don't try to show off with your magical shadow, Quarious, many of us can see through it - me most of all...

...and you're late!

Very well. No doubt you have heard what has been said. If you are here to volunteer for the exploratory venture to The Fifth, you'll have to wait. Whether such a venture is even to happen has not yet been decided. If you wish to make a statement, make it quick and do not waste our time for some of us have little left to spare!" Ravendark gesture's towards the older living members of the Council in an all too serious wave of his hand.

OOC: In case anybody is wondering about my avatar's statement just now, he isn't kidding. He has Darkvision 120 feet, can see twice as far a human in daylight, and four times as far in lowlight which effectively makes his senses as keen as a dragon. I have his stats posted here (http://www.angelfire.com/scary/raven_dark64/documents/Ravendark.doc) as well if any of you are interested. You guys should make your own if you haven't already.

"highly respected lord ravendark, if you were the one that summoned the council together, I will volunteer on the quest to the fifth...."

these where the words the drow spoke, then he walked nearer to the zenith archmages, and if one's I was not mistaking there was something unusual about his shadow.

"..If only I would not have concluded that one of you has summoned us, am I right? why did you summon me? do you need my council or is there some peril I should know about and where my magics are needed for?"
Malyss the defender

01-05-04, 04:34 PM
Malyss stands up again and stares at Aravilar."As RavenDark said,we must not let these mysteries stay unknown.Afterall, the goal of this council is to expand our mutual knowledge of magic, isn't it?If this expedition is sent,I will be one of the volunteers.
aravilar_holistacia

01-05-04, 05:43 PM
Aravilar's eyes flared blue for a second before returning to normal.

"I still say we should let the mysteries of the fifth stay hidden."
Malyss the defender

01-05-04, 05:56 PM
Oh,please, master Holistacia,do not try to impress us with your little tricks. Why should we let these mysteries hidden?Do you have something that you do not want the other archmages to see?
Finwe

01-05-04, 06:04 PM
Stirring again, Finwe this times stands, and holding his staff high, says in a booming voice, "There are no 'Mysteries' of the fifth. His dissapearence is to be expected. If you wish to atempt to reach into his room, then beware, for the enchantments and secrets of this council run far deeper than your own diminutaive roots. None save the Zenith archmage in question, or the total consent of the whole council would allow the door to a zenith archmage's sanctum to be opened. *I* will no allow it, for your own safety." The last word he says with a sneer. Sitting back down, he remarks again, "However, the time may yet come when the doors shall open, but yet it is not this time. As I said before, there shall be no replacement for the fifth."
Frostbite_Ravenheart

01-05-04, 06:17 PM
*As the doors burst open a fleet of trumpiteers and hearlds flank an invisable line until they reach where they can march no further. Then they turn and face one another as come walking through a shorter-then-an-elf looking bard walks through and the two head hearlds obviously well decorated announce in unicion "All hail Lord Frostbite Ravenheart High Arch-Bard of Music and Emotions and representitive of all non-wizardly matters yet arcane". As Frostbite looks around at the shooked faces (save him few apprentices who seem to be in on somthing) he smiles and commands and a powerfull yet musical voice "Thats enough my hearalds lets try not to over do it, you might shock the guests" and as soon as he finshed all but the two leader-heralds robed in silver armor march in unision to flanking positions on the left or right. "Good Evening Boys and Girls, Ladys and Gentlemen, Men and Elves, Haflings and Dwarves, Half this and half that no matter what you are I am glad you all could make it and I applogise for my late arrival, you could just say I was stuck on how I should make the best entrance being the bard and all. I do belive by the numbers of guests that my second idea inline with the balor would have been a bad idea...".*

((OOC: What is an "Zenith" Exactly? I am a little confused also on who this "fifth" Zenith was thats apprently gone and about the difference between Zeniths and High Archmages beacuse I know that there were more then five High Archmages including myself...Anyways sorry for comming late but you know the holidays and all.))

01-05-04, 06:25 PM
Aravilar half-smiled and said, "I have nothing to hide, my lord Malyss."

He listened as Fin spoke. He added at the end, "I hardly believe there are any with enough *power* to replace the fifth."

"Unless of course, you wish to try?" Aravilar turned to his superiors. "I say, let's let them try to enter the realm of the fifth. Who are we to stop them from their own destruction?"

He grinned.

OOC:Zentih archmages are AoN,Finwe,Aravilar and DS.They are higher than high archmages. The fifth is a fictionnal character.

Well, now that the question of the 5th zenith archmage is solved, what is the real reason why you summoned everyone to this council?
Archmage of Netheril

01-05-04, 06:42 PM
FYI Archmage of Netheril is my title RD, Adros is my real name IC.

Finwe and Avavilar are right........for now none shall replace the fifth, but the time will come when the riddles of the past will meet with the present....I have foreseen it...

"Long have I been the dark in light and light in dark. I was always the voice that challanged traditions and kept things straight. I was the one who accepted all the scorn of my "peers" both wizards and bards for joinning the council. I bear all the powers of peace and war. I bear all the might of sorcs and bards within me. I take no commands I give no commands that has always been my style. If no mortal has the power to take the fifth office and I am so commanded by my one true leader I will take the fifth office for while I hate lawless authority and coruption I hate even more total anarcy (whispers under his breath: At least with high tempered wizards) however I shall take this task naught for I would fail more then kelevmar would become of me..."

And so spoke Frostbite in his most grim voice in which he tells talls of tragic heros to peasents and children. He seems really upset for awhile, his mood killed. He almost chokes when saying the words "Kelevmar" "One true leader" and suddenly he thought to himself "They can never know apon life or death".

"Whatever lies behind that door should remain behind it, don't you think, my lord Ravendark?" Aravilar smirked.

"It will stay sealed for your protection, as master Finwe said. We cannot afford to allow all the secrets of the fifth into the Realms, can we?" Aravilar smiled. "Some things are better left unspoken and behind closed doors, no pun intended."

Aravilar stood and walked over to the podium. He retrieved several parchments from inside, and he brought them over to the table.

"To begin another topic, I do believe we should discuss.. this." He pointed to one parchment.

"It seems we have a rival guild."

The paper's title was "The Casters of the Arcane Foundation".

"I am unaware of much about these people. Do any of you have any information?" Aravilar asked the assembled wizards.

Hahahaha! Thats classic Aravilar you secret keeper we all know the powers of divinition you posses...and prehaps you knowiths not yet but our so called "rival" guide has the magical protection of an orc shaman hut. It would not be hard to peirce there hearts and mindes never mind there walls...however I can only show you the door err tell you all this you must use your magic youself for I am not one of great divinition of present only past. I do however fear that one day the weeplings might orginize themselves to pose a threat or allows us to allaign with them. For now prehaps I suggest we simply watch them as the gods watch us yet not interfear with them unless done in simple, subtile ways.

" hmhm, excuse me."
A figure wearing a black cloak decorated with arcane patterns of very dark indigo stands up. He pulls back his hood to reveal his silvery hair and icy blue eyes, his half-elven heritige apparent. He speaks with a voice that is calm and quiet, but nonetheless draws attention.
"On the topic of the Fifth, if I may make one last remark, I say that should indeed be opened, if not at the moment. I see no good reason why his secrets should be left unshared with the world. I respect the wisdom of the Four, and agree that there should no longer be a Fifth, but you leave the matter at our feet like a bone before a dog. I do not want any noisy disruptions in this hall, nor deaths, so I will leave that subject.
On what Aravilar brought up, I know naught of this Casters of the Arcane Foundation, but I do not like to refer to them as rivals, not yet anyway. But I do agree with Lord Ravenheart in that we should observe them. I am not one to leave doors closed, and I should like to learn more of this guild. Does Ravenheart speak the truth, Aravilar, that you indeed may know more then you let on?"
aravilar_holistacia

01-05-04, 10:14 PM
Aravilar turned to Aramar, his eyes sparkling. He had one aqua eye (a hint to his water-elemental nature) and one gray eye (as a hint to his chronomancer nature).

"If I knew more, my lord Aramar, it would be made known to the Council."

Aravilar turned to the council at large. "These... rivals... should know when they are bested. I don't suggest open war, of course, but perhaps an infiltration of their organization is in order."
Finwe

01-05-04, 10:43 PM
Standing up, and this time revealing his gold feathered wings, Finwe speaks softly to Aravilar, "Perhaps you an I, old firend, could strike at their roots? Some simple alterations could bring htem shortly to ruin."

"Are we not the zenith archmages, my friend? Why do we not send a quartet of archmages to do the same?" he said to Finwe.

Aravilar sighed and summoned a glass. He then held his hand over the cup and it filled with water. Water elemental... he thought.

Adros pulls out the ancient scrolls of prophecy

"When the mysteries of the past meet the present....
When the seal removed and the office restored, something will happen that they will resent....
The Fifth will return and attempt to reclaim his title......
Only the true replacement can defeat him and this dispute settle.....
The Five are bound by an ancient oath, never to harm each other..."

(After reading the scrolls aloud)

I think its time to tell you all about the Five.

The Five, they are not only the first five to create the CoA, but they represent the very essence of magic itself!

Adros-Zenith AcM of the Netherilese magic
Diplomatic Sorceror-Zenith AcM of the Elements**
Finwe-Zenith AcM of Cosmic Magic***
Aravilar-Zenith AcM of Elven Magic****
*The Fifth*-Zenith AcM of........Shadow magic...

The five types of magic are represented in The Five

**=DS's domain has been expanded from just fire to all the elements for the purposes of this campaign alone
***=Cosmic as in Temporal Magic which is what his real domain is
****=Includes Elven and High Elven Magic togther (for campaign purposes) together
Aramar the Black

01-05-04, 11:29 PM
Nodding his head at the Four: " I am sorry about my misunderstanding of the Fifth. I admit my ears do not always listen."
Turning to adress Aravilar: "But as for the "rival" guild, I say we " infiltrate" and learn more about them. It would not be right ot destroy them without knowing them and thier objectives first."

Ravendark's surprise at the mention of the Fifth having dominion over Shadow is audible. After a moment to compose himself, he makes a highly uncharacteristic statement*, pulls up his chair, and sits down, eventually coming to settle upon deep personal thoughts.

* "Fine. We shall set aside the matter of the Fifth for now. Let us speak of this foreign guild."

these where the words the drow spoke, finally admitting his jalousy over the fifth.

"and for our "rivals", aravilar in all your years you should have learned that violence is a weapon, only to be used in the darkest hour, there are still enough peasefull ways to undo they bound."

"The Casters of the Arcane," Aravilar continued, "seem not to have much leadership. However, I would not underestimate their potential power."

Aravilar then said, "For it is not every day there is actually a rival to the Council of Archmages."

Leenaria The Pixie

01-06-04, 03:58 PM
A small pixie with butterfly type wings with a black and white type desing on them, and a dress to match the wings appears on Aravilar's shoulder. Her fiery red hair hangs down to her back and there are no shoes on her feet. She smiles to everyone, while keeping perfectly balance on his shoulder.
aravilar_holistacia

01-06-04, 05:49 PM
Aravilar smiled as the pixie appeared on his shoulder.

"I did not expect you to come here, my daughter..." he said anxiously.

"My friends," he said to the Council, "this is Leenaria... my daughter."

He smiled, his aqua-outlined eyes sparkling.
Aramar the Black

01-06-04, 05:58 PM
Smiling, yet with a small look of suprise on his face, Aramar speaks:
"Hail, feykin, daughter of Aravilar. Do you bring tidings or do you simply wish to watch and listen; join in, perhaps?
Oh, and I if I may, I have chosen to aid Agudo's School, for I am bound by promise."
Leenaria The Pixie

01-06-04, 09:24 PM
As Aravilar introduced her, she flew a foot from him and changed into her human form. When she changes everything forms to her new size, except her wings meld into her back.

She walks to Aramar and gently takes hold of his hand, she curtsies to him, "Its a pleasure to meet you sir." Her hair wisps behind her as she does so and she smiles brightly.
Aramar the Black

01-06-04, 10:32 PM
Aramar smiles, his eyes brighten, and still holding Leenaria's hand, he bows, his silverly hair falling in front of his face as he does so.
"It is a pleasure to meet you as well, Leenaria. You do not seem the hasty type, but I must ask again, why do you come to join us?"
He lets go of Leenaria's hand and crosses his hands in front of him.
Leenaria The Pixie

01-07-04, 01:44 AM
She smiles to him then grows gravely serious, something of which not even Aravilar has seen her like.

"Well, for one like Aravilar pointed out, he is my father and I wanted to visit him. Well, adoptive father really. Anyway the other reason was to seek council within this council. I am in need and in grave danger, I have come to ask for help. I hope my coming here won't have been in vain."

She looks to her father then around to the others. She lightly rests a hand on his arm, "I must beg of you, it is quite urgent! Whoever you can spare right now will be of most help! My life is in danger and I have some enemies tailing me. It seems they followed me over seas..."
kedi

01-07-04, 02:23 AM
As the elven necromancer enters, he takes off his cloak, and sits on a chair. Looking at the archmage, he wonders what will happen, next. Keeping his silence, Kedi stands up and wanders around, and salutes his archmage friends.

[ooc: Kedi, the archmage of life and death (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=146799&perpage=30&pagenumber=3) I liked this idea, good job ;)]
Leenaria The Pixie

01-07-04, 03:38 PM
She looks to Kedi as he walks in. For some reason just looking at him sent a chill down her spine. Leenaria backs up until she hit the wall with her back. Her hands pressed tight against the wall and a frown drew her lips downward. It was obvious Kedi had frightened her.

01-07-04, 05:13 PM
Aravilar violently stood up. Spellfire roared about his person.

"Lee, what is wrong?" Aravilar said, rushing over to her. He scowled at Kedi. "There are some among us who do not hide their ancestry nor their beings well."

Aravilar's water-elemental nature was not readily apparent, of course.
Leenaria The Pixie

01-07-04, 05:34 PM
She looks up to him, "You remember me mentioning that my tribe was killed? The creature that killed them has followed me here, obviously it wants to end the Irielad pixies for good. Please, I beg of you," she looks past Aravilar to the others, "all of you, to help me. I'm in more danger than I shall ever admit too."
Finwe

01-07-04, 09:52 PM
Finwe smiles warmly at the pixie, and then says, in a sort of paternal voice "do not fear child, for in these halls no harm shall come to you. If you have any fears, then I am sure that Ravendark will cater to your every need." Finwe then winks devilishly at Ravendark, with a devilish smile to match.
Leenaria The Pixie

01-07-04, 10:00 PM
She looks to the one who spoke to her, "Thank you." Her eyes look between Finwe and Ravendark then back to her father. "I cannot stay here all my life and hide out! I wish to leave here, no matter how nice you are or wish me to, I cannot."

"Naturally." says the Lich Wizard dryly, directing the reply towards his rival Finwe. "I will be more than happy to ensure the safety and comfort of Arivilar's daughter. These endless meetings were beginning to bore me anyhow." The Lich Wizard (who was unusually quick to disguise himself as a terribly handsome young man) turns to face the new arrival in her distress. "I would be more than happy to see your troubles ended and your path made safe." The disguised shadow adept stands to bow deeply in her direction, not once taking his bright smile and deep blue eyes off of her.

Seemingly entranced by the brightly colored orbs of her wonderouly beautiful eyes, Ravendark replies kindly and with the articulared speech of a nobleman, "If you have nothing more to say to these old busybodies, shall we take our leave to a safer place?" Noticing her discomfort at the smell, Ravendark quickly tries to cover up the truth. "The horrid stench that wafts your delicate senses is from Kedi, a known lich here at the Council. The sooner we leave, the sooner you will be rid of it."
Leenaria The Pixie

01-08-04, 12:01 AM
She looks at him, "Old?" She giggles playfully, "Well, I know my father isn't or so I think he isn't." She shakes her head then looks back up at him, "Where shall we go?"
Raven Dark

01-08-04, 12:10 AM
"I have a magnificant tower far to the north. There I have a countless number of traps and defenses as well as several large armies to protect you if need be. We shall leave by way of teleportaion as soon as you are ready Milady."
Leenaria The Pixie

She looks to Raven, "Alright, now would be good a time as any, unless you have something you need to do before we leave."
Raven Dark

01-08-04, 12:34 AM
Ravendark is quick to cast his spell before Arivilar can do anything to stop him. As he and his new "house guest" arrive many miles to the North of the world, he is quick to cast yet another great illusion to disguise his fortress of bones as a tower of glowing crystal, his undead armies and monsters as well-dressed soldiers and gardeners, and his wastelands to vast gardens with gorgeous flowers, hills, and rivers.

He also dispels his Eclipse spell so that it appears as if the sun has just begun to rise to greet the morning as they arrive.

"Quick, let us get to the tower before the cold chill takes its toll upon your flesh."

Within minutes of his departure, Arivilar gets a private messege from an Obsidian Bat (essentially a Silver Raven figurine). The messege is as follows:

I have your daughter held in a place where even your magic cannot reach her. I assure you she is well protected from the enemies she spoke of, but her continued safety is in your hands and in your hands alone. My first demand is your position on the Council as well as all of its entitled powers. I'll not linger upon the bottom rungs for another few millenia while the Council decides whether I am worthy of such a spot. Don't think you can't do it, I have read the manuscripts of law within the Council and I know of a Councilor's right to give up his position to another. I also urge that you steer the Council's discussions away from this other wizarding guild of little importance and back to the topic of the Fifth! Once done, you shall persuade them however you can that we WILL launch an exploratory search through the realm. Once these conditions have been met, I assure you the safe and immediate return of your adoptive daughter. If you yourself or any of your agents try to seek out your daughter or if you speak a word of this to the Council her fate shall be swift.

The bat refuses to speak its messege until Arivilar is alone. Little does Arivilar or the Council know that his daughter is actually having a grand time playing within the crystal tower and roving throughout the gardens of the North. Even if Arivilar were priviliged to such information, even he is astute enough to know that his daughter's peril is still very real.
Leenaria The Pixie

01-08-04, 02:45 AM
She looks up at him, "Cold doesn't bother me much, heat does though. As long as it isn't to hot I'm okay." She giggles a bit happily then looks around her, "Is this your place?"

"Why yes my pixie friend. I am a long time lover of the green leaf. These are my gardens, gardens which I have spent years of arcane study to ensure their survival in these otherwise harsh climes. Within a few years, I imagine I will posess the knowledge to grow any plant absolutely anywhere upon the planet! I assure you will find my castle to your tastes. "We can not allow Ravendark to access the fifth's sacntum. You can not sway me in this. The life of one person, even your daughter, Aravilar, is not worth unleashing the secrets of the fifth. Only the impending apocalypse, or the will of a god could persuade me from my decision."

01-08-04, 09:09 PM
Finwe motions for the three other Zenith mages to follow him into a private chamber. There, Aravilar tells the other two of the ill news. When he finishes, Finwe speaks: "The best course of action will not be to give him a position as a Zenith of the council, nor to allow him to access the fifth's lair. Ignore him completely, and he will lose all of his power. Killing the girl leaves him with absolutely no gain, and a total loss: he has made an enemy with the most powerful organization on this plane, and has no more leverage over them. He is not stupid, and he knows this. Once again, silence is our greatest ally."

"So you have told the council of my treachery, Arvilar? This will bode ill for your daughter I assure you." spoke the lich wizard who had suddenly appeared amongst the gathering (in all his lichliness). "I'll not slay her yet my old friend. I have not had my fill of fun with her just yet." He grins wickedly before vanishing.

Meanwhile, back at the tower, the real Ravendark pretends to enjoy a breakfast with his house guest. Suddenly, he reaches up as if to take her hand. Upon grabbing her tiny hand, his supernatural powers of unlife go to work while all his illusions begin to fade to a most horrific truth.

After the illusions, there is naught left but cold iron chairs and an old dusty table, walls made of gigantic bones, and the peach that the pixie once held in her hand turns into its true form: a dead rat, its bloody entrail still hanging from the stunned pixie's mouth. Worst of all, however, is her host, the most horrible abomination she could ever have layed eyes upon.

"Your father has betrayed me young one. His betrayal bodes naught but ill of your time to come. Prepare yourself."

As the council is in the midst of arguing, a faint whistling can be heard from the other side of the door. All inside the room feel a great sense of Calmness. The door open, and in walks Sir Blaine of Caldera, one of hte few Archemages who isn't a Sorcerer or Wizard.

The bard enters the room and is followed by a young elf woman in simple, loose clothes that just scream "Monk." Blaine walks up to the gathering and says:

Aravil, I heard about your daughter. Leave it to us. Any of you may accompany us if you like, but all I ask for is the council's persission, although a few good paladins would be of great assistance.

While the Zenith Archmages bicker amongst themselves in the private sanctum, Ravendark sends his raven familiar to speak to the other Archmages on the Council.

The messege is one of war:

"Dark times are brewing and it is all the fault of the Zenith Archmages. More and more they bicker amongst themselves, even now, as rival guilds grow in power and secret realms seeth with limitless energy, yet they are not explored. Join my master, Ravendark, and overthrow the cruel hegemony of Zeniths that cares not of you except your use as stepping stones to their own power. My master promises to explore the new powers of the Fifth and spread it amongst all of you as it should have been long ago. Before we are through, rival guilds will be subsumed in the flames of our expansion and the power and wealth you now know will be but a memory when compared to the opportunities you will achieve beside my master! Do not let yourselves wither and die at the mercy of the lying Zenith! What can four decide but what four want? Join my master and our newly formed democratic organizartion shall have no match in this world or the next!"

The raven offers specially made scrolls to all those who wish to teleport to the outskirts of R.D's sanctum. The bird is also equipped with magical devices so that he may know which Archmages are loyal to his master.

A rather short and thin figure, perhaps just over five feet in height, enters the doorway, garbed in shining noble dress with long mousy brown hair. She wears rather expensive looking jewelry of gold, silver, and semiprecious stones. Her face is adorned with blue clawlike tattoos, with a rong tatto of the same color on her forehead. She grins to herself, as if on some private joke, glancing around, then looks crestfallen.

"Oh, dear. This isn't the kitchen, is it?"

Her eyes flit across the mages before her.

"Well, a kind of kitchen. Not the kind I was looking for, but it will do."

Suddenly, her face lights up in another smile, almost a childish grin.

"Adros! Is that you? I knew I smelled leftovers! And you look to be filled with fire and brimstone! Will there be smiting? Can I get in on it? And...can I stand near someone for just a bit? I'm famished."

"War??"

*An aura, even frightens some powerful archmages, surrounds kedi, and his blue skull eyes starts to burn*
*He raises hands, takes some crystals in his left hand, Kedi kills one of the unimportant servants of him without mercy and with his dagger. He puts the crystals in the hole he have just created, and speaks something from the old, elvish tongue, soon, the body becomes blury, and soon, it raises as a ghost*
*goes to see the adros*

"Killing a lich is very hard, but hard to only fools. Many, many powerful spells exist in my spell library, and it wouldn't be hard to kill him with my spells. But, the hard job would be taking down his servants. Since I'm not so good against large amounts of creatures, I thought it would be a good idea to send a group of archmages to clear all the way, and then I could go and doom the lich forever."

*bows lttle, and goes directly to the council library, sees RD working down there, but he directly goes to the his private library, takes some ancient tomes, and studies some hard spells for the upcoming war.*

the drow spoke, when he saw his fellow archmage, underestemate the power of shadow magic so much and make a statement of a fool. the drow calmed his voice and now talked normally again.

"I think the place of the fifth, should not be replaced, unless there is no other way to undo a great peril. we have lived for years without a fifth archmage and It will stay that way untill utterly neccisairy! the one that wants to enter the fifth office has to pass me first."

the drow took a short break and then continued.

"as lord malyss and I, are still waiting for the confession of the zenith archmage that malyss and I will make a trip to the casters of the arcane guild."

Hearing RavenDark's call to war,Malyss's eyes burn with intense desire. He had forgotten that desire for power but now it came back. For more than 10 years,he lived as a slave to the fools leading this council. He now had the chance to gain the power he always dreamed for and he wouldnt let that chance pass, even if it meant broken friendships.Malyss slowly took the teleportation scroll. He then turned to Quarius Citakaira and said:"Quarius,my friend, forget this prophecy and come with me.It is simply a lie made up by the zenith archmages to better control us".
He then read the scroll and teleported to RD's sanctum.

Malyss detects as loyal on the magical devices.

No, not true. But the ghost Idea was pretty good, although it will take a while for it to reach the pixie.

Finwe motions to Adros, asking to talk with him in private about hte upcomming war. When they are in Finwe's sanctum, impenitrable by scrying or teleportation of any kind, Finwe begins to speak with Adros: "We are now at war. Facing Ravendark on his own ground would result in unneccesary losses, and posible defeat. However, I have an Idea to defeat them. He, like all casters who were born in this time, must rely on the weave, and thus is powerless without it. It is a risky manouver, but I beleive that with a [I]Wish spell we may be able to create a dead magic zone of sufficient size to effectively neutralize his magic. Then, with him virtually helpless, we can create for him a prison that shall last for eternity. Although, forcing him to fight in a mage deul could also work, but his phylactery would prevent him from dying. The truth of the matter is, we must find his phylactery, and I believe that wherever Leenira lies, so will the phylactery. Aravilar may be able to gain this information form her, but not very likely. Perhaps we should send a troop of archmages to find it. In the meantime, however, let us discuss the coming war."

On the barren wastelands of Ravendark's sanctum apear several small dots. Getting more numerous by the hours, the all being to slowly walk towards the keep. When they all arrive, the congregate in his hall, waiting for the Liche to apear. While they are wiating, one of the Archmages speaks up: "he keeps us waiting out here, expecting us to join him but then ignoring us! Who does he think he is?"
BlaineTog

01-09-04, 08:08 PM
Blaine speaks with such eloquence that all in the tower pause to listen.

My friends, you must listen to reason! While it *may* be possible to defeat the lich with our combined magic, what would be the cost? A battle of magic like this has not happened since the Great War between sourcerers and Wizards in ages past, and the damage from that war is still harming the planes to this day. Scars from those fights can be seen in countless moutains, and there are wounds in the Astral Plane that still haven't healed. My fellow Archmages, we must find another way.

First, we must find it's placerty (sp?).Without it, the lich is vulnerable and can be destroyed. Olidarramma owes me a few favors that I can call in, but He probably won't actually retreive it for use. That is Step One and can be completed within the week.

Step Two: Procure and destroy the placerty. This can probably be accomplished with a Adamantine dagger. If the lich can strengthened it, then we simpley need to procure a Sphere of Annialation.

Step Three: Defense.
My friends, Abjurations are our salvation. We must have defensive measures for every one of the lich's attacks. You can bet that it has already taken all of our Evoctions into consideration and has created wards agasint them.

Step Four: Clerics.
It's time to bite the sling bullet: we mucst enlist the help of clerics, if for no other reason than that Ravendark will not be expecting us to. If he has any lesser undead roaming around, they can easily take care of them.

Step Five: Swords and Fists.
We needs Paladins and Monks. For all of it's spells, the lich is still vulnerable to a paradigm of good's awesome power. There is little Ravendark can do to prevent harm dealt from the blade of the Paladin. Monks, especially asetic Monks, are nearly impossible to harm with magic.

This is admittedley a crude (at best) plan. But you must realize: we will not destroy this abomination with the force of our spells alone without great cost, in lives and in other innumerable ways. We must not act rashly!

"Not matter how we may do this, Adros, our first priority must be to get the phylcatery. There are worse fates to meet than death, I assure you. I will go talk to Quarius and Kedi, as they have greater knowledge about both shadow magic and the "art" of lichedom than I."

While the rest of the council is attempting to find it, we must take initiative over RavenDark and rally forces and allies. I will make journeys to the surrounding countries and cities and attempt to recruit as many experienced warriors and mages as possible. While I'm there, I may as well extend the hand of friendship to them, as we are short on allies and forces. You power-mongering fools! Have you no thoughts other than "To the spellbooks!"? No, I tell you! No! The lich is far too powerful! The backlash of magic would destroy us all!

He pulls out a lute of ancient design and starts to play. The music starts out low and soft, with a melancholy tinge. After a moment, the meter changes and the volume increases. The music is the incarnation of heavenly joy and its sounds permeate the tower, from its highest pinnacles to its lowest dungeons. The music spreads farther, striking fear into the hearts of the vile, the depraved, the evil, and uplifts the spirits of the good. The music spreads farther, and reaches even past the borders of RD's realm. Farmers in their fields stop to listen and feel a great sense of safety and consolation. The undead roaming the lands pause, not in joy, but in anguish: they cover their ears from the song of joy.

The Tower becomes a beacon for all the good in the land. Paradigms of Good, Fists of Righteousness, begin to appear at the foot of the mountain. The assembly grows in size and strengths by the minute, reaching into the thousands. Warriors from the Upper Planes fly around by the dozen. Archons, Guardians, Celestials and Half-Celestials are all in attendance. Mortal and Planetouched Paladins arrive, sometimes by the shipload. Clerics, representing every good god, begin to appear among the ranks. A lesser skeleton wandering the forests in search of prey beheld the conglomeration of Goodness and crumbled to dust in an instant.

Your army, ladies and gentlemen. It shall be one of Good and Right, not arcane power and spells. It shall cleave the forces of Ravendark in twain and shatter his body into oblivion. The army of Good is setting up camp; I suggest you help them with several hundred Secure Shelters, if you feel up to it. I’ll go call in that favor that Olidaramma owes me, and we shall soon know the location of its phylactery. Farwell for now.

1. Creatures on other planes can not hear your music

2. Thousands of people will not come simply because you are playing music, and not all of them are neccesaily people willing to fight. However, if you have the leadership feat, then that might be how you summon your army, but only with the epic leadership feat could you even hope to have an army that large.

No, it is not more fun when you can just summon an army of celestials at your whim. It will take time to create the army, and open war is the last thing that we want anyways. And, please make a character sheat (between levels 21-30). When you just so, "whos to say I don't have it" you can say that for every feat /spell and do anything you want.

There are tow reasons that you can't do this:
1. I am the DM, and thus you would have to gain my approval to have favors from Odilimara, and

2. For the sake of the plot, because what is the point of RPing this if we can all just say "well, some deity ows me a favor. Now we can just do anything that we want."?

You might have an army (vai epic leadership) of around 3500 people (about 3/4s of which would be level 1). So you might have *A* cohort who is a Hound archon or something like that, but nothing like a solar).

"Ravendark!" comes a magically-enhanced cry from a tiefling outside the lich's tower.

"My lord Set has shown interest in your cause! He has given you my service! Set wishes to expand his power beyond the borders of Mulhorand, and you show promise in helping him to achieve that goal!"

The tiefling kneeled down towards the tower. “It is the will of Set that I join with your forces! He cannot give much besides myself and a few warriors and spellcasters, but it would benefit us both to join forces!”

The tiefling looked up towards the tower. His flame-red eyes and aardvark-like birthmark showed under his unruly black hair.

OOC> Please disregard my last post. I thought of a better way to bring in the army.

Camaris drew a circle on the ground using silver powder. The general commotion of the camp started to quiet as the soldiers saw what he was doing. They gathered around him. He spoke, still sprinkling the silver."We're leaving today. Pack up while I finish this spell." They rushed back to their tents, packing up their personal belongings. Camaris finished the circle just as they were taking down the tents. As soon as they were done, he ordered them to form 4 single file lines. He said a few words of magic and waved his hand, and the silver circle began to gleam with magic. "First line, begin walking into the circle." They started. The first soldier disappeared as soon as he walked into the circle. Camaris yelled out, "Keep walking, he's just been teleported." The line continued to walk until the entire line had gone through the teleportation circle. He ordered the next line to go through, then walked through himself. He appeared in a grassy field outside of the tower of the Council of Archmages. He sighed. "It's good to be home." He watched as his soldiers appeared one by one. He smiled. "Wait until the council sees this."
DiplomaticSorcerer

02-03-04, 04:05 PM
He waited until the last of the army had been transported, then ordered them to form up. He teleported to the Grand council chambers. He threw open the curtains on a nearby window, and the army lay stretched out over the fields, neatly organized into ranks and files. Their formation was as closely packed as possible, yet the army was so large that it seemed to be one giant, unmoving mass. "You have your army, gentlemen. I have gathered them from the surrounding countries and cities, and they come here now to serve our cause."

it was back in the times that he just gained his adulthood.

Quistaria looked up to Quarius and said:
"Quick! Quarius, my brother, these are the waters that flow all through Almania, we shall have our revenge on those Gray elves for kill Hitamil! Quick! spill your poison in them!"

Quarius lossed a falsk in The flowing river, not knowing that this Event would chase him for certain decenia..

When Quarius Awoke he found himself sitting in a hall, where was he, oh yes, he remembered, almost 300 years had passed
since this event happend

Aramar agian stnds up and turns to look at Camaris, and then speaks in an almost puzzled voice.
"Quite the army, Camaris, but tell me, of what does it consist? Do you have merely warriors and conscripts, or do you bring mages and dragons and those of the upper planes? Or perhaps some of both? "
Finwe

02-03-04, 06:40 PM
Finwe finds himself awakening in a strange place - certainly not where he was expecting. Here, magical auras change and are created and destroyed as rapidly and as fickly as are friendships among demons. Smiling, he thinks "Of course... but then, why?" After thinking this, he dissapears back into blackness....
DiplomaticSorcerer

02-03-04, 09:27 PM
"Well, let me show you." He gripped Aramar's robe and teleported down to the fields. He walked with him down the ranks of soldiers. "I gathered the best from each land. The Arevylen elves to the east of us sent a large contingent of mages and archers." He motioned to a stolid group of elves dressed in robes and light armor. "I also appealed to some of the deities for help. I was able to persuade Cyric to join us. He sent a large number of retrievers for a strike force. Also, a large number of Tanar'ri were placed in my care for the cause of destroying Ravendark. While somewhat uncontrolled, they're one of our most valuable combat resources." They passed a group of balors who were playing a game that involved picking up a dretch and trying to kick it as far as you could. Camaris looked on as the dretch landed and regenerated itself. "I find that it's best not to try to stop them from playing this game. It helps them to blow off steam, and the dretch is so stupid that he hardly feels it anyway." They moved on, nearly getting hit by the dretch as it sailed through the air. Camaris motioned to a group of human mages dressed in robes that seemed darker than darkness, a color that defied the eyes. "I didn't find these men, they found me. I woke up one morning and they were already camped. They're very mysterious, and they don't talk much. The only things I've been able to pick up from their leader is that they're the last of a once great group of men known as the Raag'un, or in the common tongue, Gravity Magi. Their leader wants to return glory to his people by ridding the land of our mutual enemy, the lich. Ravendark destroyed the remnants of his people. He wants retribution. For some reason, the other mages don't speak. Maybe a form of grieving? I don't know." They stopped at a group of celestials playing a game of catch using a ball of energy. It sped almost faster than Camaris and Aramar could see, but the celestials caught it with seeming ease. "These are the celestials sent to us by Kord. As you can see, they're very quick and agile. We had to keep this lot and the Tanar'ri away from each other, fights were breaking out too often." They continued on. "Here are some griffon-riders from the north, they were a roving band of adventurers, but I convinced them to join us." They walked to then next group to discover a group of dwarven fighters, engaging in various contests of strength. "Here's our artillery." Several dragons, agitated by the noise, rose from the ground, nearly knocking over several nearby creatures. Many of the evil dragons had muzzles on and chains around them. "We're still trying to incoroporate these into the army, but most of them will probably be released back where we got them. Normally, we'd just raise them from birth, but we don't have enough time for that." Camaris said a few words and waved his hand, and he and Aramar started to rise above the ground. When they got to a height at which they could see everything, Camaris started to point at other parts of the army. "We found a few giants who were willing to help us, and a pair of sphinxes. A few orcish worg riders volunteered, and a number of pegasi were willing to help us eradicate the lich. The bulk of the army is human, mostly warriors and a few mages. Many of the churches gave us some clerics for healing and support." They lowered down to the ground, and walked towards the tower. "Is there anything else you need to know?"
Finwe

02-03-04, 09:43 PM
Awakening once more, Finwe finds himself in a room that he had not seen since before any of the other members were even born. Realizing that this is the one prime plane, where dwell the conduits to other realities, he watches for a while. His body is somehow formless still, as if he had not properly returned. As he watches, he suddenly see blackness, great and overwhelming in its power. A cruel laugh rips through the serenity as one who has not been released since before Netheril was emerging. "MUAHAHAHAHA. My plan has worked, and I have escaped once agian. Now I must simply destroy this here and I shall be unstopable in my plot." Seeing Finwe, he investigates for a second, as if he had seen something he feared, but then dismissing him as simply one of the other hundreds of spirits flowing in and out of the conduits, the blackness begins to take shape. A skeletal body is formed, grotesque and vile. "All I now require is the cooperation of the fifth, and even the Lady shall have to bow to me!"
Aramar the Black

02-03-04, 09:48 PM
A fiant look of wonder sreads over Aramars face, and his crystal eyes sparkle. " You have managed to gather quite the army. I am impressed. What amazes me most is that we have both fiends, mighty ones at that, and celestials, all on the same team. But yes, I still have questons. Tell me, the Outsidersdo they join of thier own free will? Truthfully, as we walked thorugh the ranks, I looked for way I might be of aid. I saw little, save for my relationship with a few divine beings and a certain Lady of the Wood. And exactly how many gods do we hold favor with?
Other then those questions, though I am happy. I too may gather up what I have and join this campaign. Any spare time I may spend with thosesilent folk. I too like silence, and am interested in other cultures, magics, and languages."
"Well" he said, walking in the front door and rubbing hands together "Let us go back to the council chamber. Excitment may have become like geysers in the desert, so I propose we not miss any."

OOC: I would like to make a few pointers...

1) The pixie is dead and out of the picture, she said so her self. Even if she isn't, she is still permanently paralyzed and R.D.'s prisoner.

2) No way in the nine hells has any one found R.D.'s phylactery, entered his fortress uninvited, or otherwise entered and left his realm alive.

3) R.D. is not out to get the world, just the Zenith Archmages. He no more wants a war than the Zenith do (thus is the reason why he hasn't launched an offensive). If they would simply step down from their positions as Zenith and allow new leadership (which doesn't necceissarily have to be R.D.) than we can get through this with little more than a lethal mage duel (between R.D. and Arivilar since he did apparently kill his daughter).

IC: "And go forth my minions and deliver this messege to the Zenith!"

OOC: The (literal) messege essentially is a statement similar to #3 above. R.D. is not out ot get the world, just the Zenith. If the Zenith step down from the Council, there will be no war.

1. the pixie changed her posts she is not dead, and used silent, still, remove poison to get free

2. the pixie got out of the phylactery, so she must know where it has lain, els she could not escape, And I remember that quarius joined up with you some time ago so he was not uninvited.

3. and you may see that things are better this way since the tread has lain that for allmost few weeks, it was probably the best way to end thing quickly this way to revive the tread

"Well" he said, walking in the front door and rubbing hands together "Let us go back to the council chamber. Excitment may have become like geysers in the desert, so I propose we not miss any."
Camaris started walking back to the tower with Aramar. "Yes, the outsiders wish to help us, I made it clear to the deities that I didn't want conscripts. I persuaded about half of the deities to join us, and most of the lands surrounding this tower are now our allies. Hopefully this conflict will not turn into war, but sometimes such things cannot be avoided."

Sorry to trod on your toes, but:

1. She and I talked, and she is able to cast a stilled remove paralysis, so she is not dead. However, her soul is still tied to the phylactory. You made the spell yourself, remember?

2. Well, there is a way in the nine hells to find it, but that is a different story. Right now, Quarius has a thing that he thinks is the phylactory, but between you and I, it definately isn't.

3. Quarius did not get in uninvited. Through two loopholes in your contract, he was able to "sign" and effectively get out of the furies chasing him, however, the loopholes are for you to find.

Any metagaming that come from this will mean that those involved will tick off the lady of pain. And you DON'T want that.

Leenaria walks out of the room and starts looking for her father, "Father...!" Her emerald eyes looking around her, keeping a careful eye out for the shadows and for those beings she thought were a bit suspicious to her (i.e. those that told her to go with Raven Dark..).

CASTS "FIX MISUNDERSTADINGS" SPELL!

1) No army is needed, my plan doesn't involve blood shed although it does destroy RD's minions.
2) The pixie's body may be free but without a soul it won't be going anywhere
3)No DM conspiring of loophole from RD's teamates, let RD's team mates make there own decisions and not talk to the DM behind the screens to plan out ways to get at RD its.........DM METAGAMING.......
4)Quarius trust me you haven't found RD so there is defenately no chance you found his <insert name of lich thingy>.
5)Everyone who says they got through to RD's castle hasn't if they did....they lied......there is know way that they got in without him knowing (seeing how there is only one way in).

NOTE: I AM NOT HELPING RD I WANT HIM GONE LIKE THE REST OF YOU, BUT CHEATING IS NOT THE ANSWER! (that includes DMs)

Let me be gentle in this. I have done nothing but approve what Quarius intended to do himself origanaly.

1. True
2. The pixie sure has a soul. The only problem is that it is tied to the phylactory and thus if the phylactory is ever harmed, then she will die. Also, it means that she effectively has an astral cord like thing which makes her vulnerable to Githiyaki blades and such, but has no other real effect.
3. Quarius devised the plan to get into RD's fortress on his own. When he got to RD's place, he went to the contract, and I told him what it said. Then he found two loopholes in it, and thus he was able to circumvent any adverse effects.
4. Quarius has found on of the many decoy Phylatories that RD has, which also happened to be near the Pixie. IT IS NOT THE REAL PHYLACTORY!
5. Nobody has said that they got in without him knowing. Anybody who has gone into RD's fortress has gone in through the front. The trickery of quarius was in the contract, not in the arrival.

Now, Andy and I have talked, and we are going to make a new IC thread with all the posts there. That shall be where everyone posts from now on. Anything that is not posted on that thread is not known to anyone IC, unless someone PM's me to tell something to someone else.

Also, let me clarify something: AoN is not the DM, and I am sure that it is pretty annoying to him to be getting all the complaints about this thread. The two DM's of this thread are Me, and Aravilar. Now, happy gaming!

Hiya. :) Just a friendly DM update.

1. Your plan and what has been posted are quite different.
2. Leenaria's body and soul were freed by Quarius.
3. Rule 0 states that the DM is the final word. AND THE RULES OF THIS FORUM ARE THAT THE DM HAS THE FINAL WORD.
4. Quarius was a traitor who posed as a double agent for the CoA's side. He did not necessarily find the phylactory, FoD.
5. No one has said that they have gotten to the castle.

This forum's rules state that the DM makes the final rules. The DM has authority to make rules, and to interpret them.

You have to admit that an army would be useful, especially if your plan isn't approved by the gods. I mean, you're like, "What?! You aren't gonna let me do it?! Well, DAMN, that was my only ace!"

OOC: No archmage of darkness, unless you mean the spell. Darkness was part of the fifth's domain.

Also, please put OOC posts on the OOC thread now (somewhere on this forum).

Watches as Kane arrives, and breathing the hair out of his face, greets him so" Welcome Kane, but it appers as though you may have heard everything, you didn't listen. WE have a grand army already, which, according to one of the Zenith, we may not even need. So unless you plan to scare evil with shadow, you small army is, unnessisary. "
Almost haltingly: "Although,..I, for one, will accept.. his wishes."

"Well then, it it appears as though Mask was the one one wasn't truely listening. But, I shouln'd dismiss them yet, as who know the workings of a Zenith's mind? But Unless the are all Priests and clerics, or they are with my earlier suggested plan, then they may still be unnessisary."

"Well, no, of course not. I see your position, Kane.
But still, though, Mask may want to listen more closly next time.
Unless, of course, there is something special about this army that a first inpsection would not reveal. After all, who could guess the mind of diety?

as I said before, This thread was over run by A confusing amount of Out of character posts, Which did not let people know if something was generally know or that it was something only two persons knew, and so One of the Dms decided to make a new thread with a short story of what we roleplayed allready
this thread is inactive

where is the new thread? should we start one on the archmage site

the new thread was not fully made, Aon Was working on that one but I think he is stuck with to much homework to continue on it, and since I still think people have right on a social live I do not push him to do the CoA new thread in a quick time,

we will have serval roleplaying threads running in the Coa boards
and I really like you joined Necrodude

A preemptive :bump: so we can get started here again. If we find that a new thread will be easier to manage, I'll make a new one when the time comes. For now, this is the OOC thread for the new roleplaying campaign.

If you are a newcomer to this thread, please read the OOC bit I posted in the first post.

Thanks!
