| Leonidas Nightingale03-19-04, 08:05 AM | It is 973 AH (after mohamed (1496 AD) ) when a lonely thirtien year Mongol warrior leaves his home somewhere in the steppes of Uzbekistan. He is the son of the local warlord, a descendant of the Great Genghiz-khan on his fathers side and Timur-Lenk (Tamerlane) on his mothers side. The young boy's father has been murdered in a quirel with his neighbour over a small piece of land. With his fathers lands annexed by a hostile warlord the young Babur has fled for his life and apraoches the Afghan mountain range of the Hindu Kush from the south. Though it is already april the 4000 metres high mountain pass is still blocked from passage and so Babur awaits for the melting of the snow and wanders trough Afghan highlands. Altough his goal for now is his uncle in Kabul he does not know what the future will bring for him but he feels the Mongol blood of a warrior and his famous ancestor flowing trough his viens with eagerness to express itself. http://www.carpenoctem.tv/img/tamerlane.jpg Babur's ancestor from mothers side, Timure-Lenk, founder of the Timurid empire. http://steppenreiter.de/images/mong.warr.jpg Young Babur in full armour, with his horse. http://www.taklamakan.org/history/fifteenth_cent.gif The Timurid empire at it's hight some 75 years before babur's birth. |
| Leonidas Nightingale03-23-04, 05:43 AM | This thread will be a serious, historical role-playing game in which all whom like can participate. It tells the tale of the little Babur (The lion), founder of the Mughal empire in India and one of the fiercest warriors of his age. At age 14 he was orphaned when his father died in battle against his neighbour Uzbeks and he had to flee his fathers former territory. For two years he wandered trough modern Afghanistan until waging various unsuccessful campaigns at this early age. Three year later, aged seventeen he led an army and captured the magnificent Timurid capital of Samarqand but was only able to hold it for a few months. After more months of wandering Babur and his troops marched south and captured Kabul. Years passed in which Babur’s territory was expanded until finally he set his goals on Delhi and led a campaign into India establishing the Mughal empire, an empire which was able to survive for 331 years. If you would like to enter the game as one of Baburs followers or warriors just post yourself into it. Trough he course of the game we will battle for Samarqand and Kabul and in the end maybe even campaign towards Delhi. Hope to read you soon. http://www.storyofpakistan.com/images/p0314010101.jpg |
| ThePreacher03-23-04, 07:34 AM | Well... This certainly sounds interesting. But tell me something, why are you counting in AH? Anyway, I think I'm in. |
| Drizzt03-23-04, 11:57 AM | A warrior passing by the pass notices a figure and walks toward him. after a few steps he sees babur fully."My lord, i am glad to see you still are alive" kneeling the warrior says" i pledge my allegiance to you as i did to your father"looking up the warrior awaits a response |
| Leonidas Nightingale03-25-04, 02:18 AM | "Timur-i-Drizzt, (the iron Drizzit:) ) I am very grtefull for you following me in such a time of hardship. When my father, Umar Sheikh Mirza was murdered by those filthy Uzbek dogs there where few things for me to do but run and hide. off course I know it does not feel like now like the honorable way but remember the great Timur-e-Lenk did so for many years when he had to run from the Whazirs and the Seljuks. Eventually he fought his way to the top, conquered all of Transoxania and became the Khan, not in name but certainly in prestige and power, of all of the civilized world. What Timur, my great-great-great grandfather has done one hundred years ago must be also possible by me, Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur, I am not called the lion for nothing. Timur set out with only sixty men as his following when he was driven from his governorship by the Wazhirs and after being defeaten by the sultan of Khivan he had only ten men left of which three deserted him. With the eight men we are we are at the same strength Timur was and so I have no doubt we are ready for gretness, follow me into the world, I will lead you to plunder, richness, fame and all on earth you could ever disire." And so the twelve year old Babur rode on, his fine pony underneathh him folowed by eight of the bravest warriors and a dozen camels. Readt to fulfill his destiny. ((OOC: Troughtou the game I will NOT count in Ah because it is just very impractical. Altough the writers of the Babur-Nama did so I think we have to use the Christian way of counting the years if we do not want to get lost in time. To both off you and all whom will follow welcome... )) |
