Within a dark cave, just below the surface, there is an unassuming building. There is nothing special about the obvious in, except for the sign of a pit out front, and the warm glow of fire withing. Behind the counter stands a boy, his eyes midnight black, his skin pale, his hair blond. His clothes are long and black, a symbol of Selune hangs around his neck. Polishing the black marble counter, he awaits customers to his inn, the Darkhole, with a wistful look in his eye, like one who has lost a love.

((THE DARKHOLE IS OFFICIALLY OPEN FOR BUSINESS! Come on back everyone, and anyone else, so that we may have fun once again.))

A tall figure, shrouded in mystery, walks through the door of the establishment. He pauses for a moment in time, the unrevealing cowl of his cloak swiveling to the right, to the left, and then straight ahead as he examines the quality of the tavern. Shadows seems to amass in front of the cowl, obscuring any features of the figure within. His steps are quiet, but purposeful all the same. Strapped to his back is a great sword, echoing an aura of a chaotic nature. After a calm, quiet, and albeit disturbing moment, the nearly 7 foot tall mystery figure makes his way to the front counter, his tall body bowing to the boy behind the counter, his voice coming out with a grating, almost emotionless quality.
"I extend my greetings unto thee, young one. What manner of establishment has sprung up here, in the midst of nowhere and somewhere all at once? I did not percieve this place when I passed through a week ago."
Lord Tarran

10-24-04, 02:14 AM
Greetings to you. Please, ancient one, do not call me young. I have seen as many years as you have, let this body fool you not. As for the not knowing of this inn before, it has always been here, but I kept it hidden until recently, as I was away, and my friends all had to take leave. Since I have arrived home, I have reopened the Darkhole. Now, what brings you here my cloaked friend. Is there a reason you keep your face hidden?

Christopher smiles slightly, revealing his longer than normal canine teeth. His voice echoes into the head of his guest.

Or something more sinister?

*A man in a black hooded cloak walks in. He goes over to the bar.*

"I'll take a tankard of your finest ale."

A young boy, disguised as a man with black clothes, walks in.He remembers his previous run-in with Chris and tries to block his mind...most unsucessfully...He missed his usual white wardrobe...and his usual size, but for *some* reason Chris didnt like him...Poor Miror....

Sitting down he orders a glass of water.
Mazithra-Amakiir

10-24-04, 08:28 PM
The cloaked figure bows again, deeply, respectfully. He is silent for a moment, perhaps pondering the figure before him, the owner of this hidden establishment. His voice reaches forth from the cowl of his cloak, once again seemingly devoid of emotion or attraction.
"May ye accept what few appologetic words that I possess and offer unto thee for misjudging ye so. Appearances, truly, can be deceving. More and more, I learn, in this plane of existence, this quaint state of being, appearances, more than even on my home plane, are ever deceiving.
As for your first question, the answer is quite readily and simply given.I have spent these last few weeks on a hunting mission; I was tracking a rather unsavory specimen. A drow, I believe they are known as. They are but one of my specialties.
As for what manner of creature I am...that depends on you, good sir. It is all how you perceive me. Most of the denizens of this world that I have had the displeasure of encountering perceive me as an unsavory creature that must be hunted and destroyed. I do try to do them as little harm as possible; closed-minded souls such as they know no better. They have a purpose, as I do, even if they do not know it yet.
Still, I suppose I can give you a chance..."

The figure lowers his cowl to reveal yellow eyes, pale yellow skin, the light reflecting off of the face of the creature, and black hair formed into a neat top-knot. The Githerzai, a creature native to the Ever-Changing Chaos of Limbo, gives Christopher a blank look; neither fearful nor caring. All that is reflected in the swirling pools of yellow is a sense of duty, and determination to complete the duty. Once again, with flowing movements of the unrevealing cloths, the Githerzai bows to Christopher.
"Mazithra Amakiir, native of the Ever-Changing Chaos of Limbo, Planar Champion, the Hunter and the Hunted.
To answer your question, good sir...I am neither good nor evil, sinister nor compassionate. Such terms are terms forged by one's own perception of the entity that I currently embody. I simply am. I exist, and I exist to accomplish my life's task. It is up to you to decide if I am truly good or evil, sinister or compassionate, deserving of life or death. The decision I leave up to you, good sir. Many have already arrived at a decison, and many more to come will arrive at a decision about the complexities of my nature. Ye are not the first, and ye shall not be the last. Take that as you will."

"This reminds me of a good Joke. Two men walk into a bar which is funny becase the second one should have ducked when he saw the first one walk into it."
Lord Tarran

10-25-04, 07:41 PM
Sliding the tankard of ale down to (orc slayer's character) and a glass of water to Miror, who he is choosing to ignore at the moment, Christopher looks at the Githzerai. Bowing his head in respects, Christopher says in Gith,

You are well met Mazithra-Amakiir. I respect your people, and would be happy to have one in my home as a guest. I actually owe one of your own a great deal. So please, have you any need, just ask. You said you were hunting a drow. Maybe I know this drow. I am at war with the nearby city, as well as the Feldriow, werespider drow, of the area. Chances are, if your prey is one hunted by you, I know him.
Mazithra-Amakiir

10-26-04, 06:29 PM
Mazithra bows to Christopher, his mouth quirked upwards in what probably should be perceived as a smile. When he speaks again, his voice holds a tint of gratitude - but only a hint. Still, the Githerzai speaks with purpose and duty, all that is on his mind.

"My good sir, I doubt that he is from around here. He is the last of a hunting party of the House of Ah'Lmenzarr, from the City of Menzoberran. I have tracked him to this point, and I know it shall not be too interminable of an amount of time before the bloodsucking scoundrel is found and obliterated. No prey that I have hunted as of yet, have escaped my grasp. He shall, most definitely, not be the first.
Of course, you may have seen him...he passed by here, by my calculations, not even two days prior to today."
Lord Tarran

10-26-04, 07:52 PM
My good sir, calling him bloodsucking was more correct than you think. I know the elf, correction, the werespider. He did pass, two days ago, asking for directions to the Feldriow pit. I gave them to him, not realizing until after he left what he was. Had he not been so far away, I would have slain him there. Lucky for you, I did no such thing. I have a persoanl vendetta against werespider, they have cost me a great deal. I will do my best to aid you, for, it appears any way, that you are not equipped to deal with Feldriow. Will you accept my aid?

Christopher's black eyes fell away to reveal the snake nature for a moment, before resuming to their void like state. He appears to be deadly serious.
malik21

10-26-04, 09:07 PM
At the sight of Chris's snake eyes Miror nearly jumped out of his chair in preparation to run out the door, but a floating hand tapped him on his back and his fears left him. The hand is quickly followed by a young boy.In his other hand are several rolls of papers. They move to a near-by table and roll out the papers. The first two are maps followed by several wanted posters with Miror's real face on it. Miror sighs as he scans the map for anyway out of the surrounding cities. He looks to his friend,"Looks like they finally got me."A weak smile appears on his face. "You should get out while you can Kaet,if they see me with you it'll be trouble..." ",but I don't wanna." "You can.....,"Miror says thinking of what would scare Kaet...",but if a giant blood thirsty monster gets you..." "There isn't a monster! They ain't real!" "This one is....so you better GO!" "NO!" Sighing once again Miror reaches up to the boys ear and pulls out a small fuzball. "Wazzat?"
"A monster" "Nuh uh" With that final word the fuzzball opens it's 'mouth' showing razor sharp teeth and with a burst of fear Kaet disappears. Miror folds up the papers and sticks it in his pocket.
Mazithra-Amakiir

10-27-04, 01:46 PM
Mazithra seems to carry no expression; neither concern nor care of this new information seems to register upon the Githerzai Warrior's expression of stone, such as it is. Whether this is because he knows not the danger that awaits him on this particular hunt or whether he simply does not care, is not scrutinizable.

"My good friend, I appreciate your concern. It is endearing to know that such as you still exist in this danger-stricken world, keeping a watchful eye on those who would be vulnerable to such powers.
Yet, I have hunted many specimens that contain far more power than he has. Demons, devils, all manner of hideous creatures of the abyss hiding mountains of power and brutality behind their seemingly vulnerable, pitiful facade of weakness. I do not doubt that this one, too, shall fall, given time. As I have already stated, friend, I have hunted thousands of specimens, and none, as of yet, have evaded me and my blade. I doubt that this one shall be any different. Perhaps it shall take some more effort and time than I am used to, but I live for the challenge.

However, any manner of ally in this unforgivable world, where a single, involuntary mistake can result in having a dagger in your back in the next instant, is a blessing. Yes, my friend, I will accept your aid. Together, we can watch each others' backs for any daggers looming above the other.
Might I, perhaps, start this alliance off by having the pleasure of knowing your name? I don't believe I caught it yet."

The Githerzai then stands, patiently waiting for the response of Christopher, his pale-yellow eyes steadily meeting the gaze of the perceived young boy, a smile quirking upward on his lips as he perceives the snake form.
Daleah The Faithful

10-27-04, 01:59 PM
A paladin wearing studded leather armor, shield on her back, and longsword over her shoulder quietly walks into the inn. Dried spatters of blood can be seen on her form as she moves closer into the light. She sits at the bar, tosses a gp on the counter, and orders a stiff drink. Her strawberry blond hair is worn in an elaborate braid from the crown of her head down to her ankles. She doesn't appear to notice anyone as she is almost in a trance-like state. She channels energy of cool white light over her festering old wounds before tearing a piece of cloth from her tattered cape. She removes her shield to look into the reflection as she wipes the dried blood from her face and hands. The paladin takes a brief moment to survey her surroundings before meticulously cleaning her weaponry.

10-27-04, 05:22 PM
an elven ranger enters the inn, he looks around and instantly spots the familiar face of the paladin. he orders an ale and sits down next to his freind.
" hello dale, i didnt know you even went outside the castle" he says to the knight.
Lord Tarran

10-27-04, 06:33 PM
I am Christopher. Nice to meet you.

He smiles, revealing his long, snakelike canine teeth. Pouring the beer that Daleah (yes, he knows) ordered, he pours in an extra healing potion to speed along the paladin's injuries. He slides it down the counter, motioning to Mathriza that he would talk to him later. To Daleah, he says,

Welcome, my lady. It seems that you need a rest. Do tell, what brings you to this place out of the light above.

He scans her mind and body with his telepathy for any major problems. Finding nothing out of the normal (for a paladin anyway), he awaits her answer, while a book appears in front of Mathriza, written in Gith. It is a tome describing Feldriow, werespider, and explains to the Githzerai, should he choose to read it, everything there is to know, from their uncurable poison bite, to their egg planting through the bite, through their swarm tactics. Anything else that he could want to know he should ask Christopher.
Khylorn the Shifter

10-27-04, 08:42 PM
A man in a teal cloak enters the inn. Blood is dripping from the corner of his mouth, staining his pale skin. His eyes roll up into his skull and he blacks out for a moment. Abruptly, he awakens, and his eyes glance around.

"Where am I?"

He looks at the people in the bar and recognizes none of them, but feels that he should be able to recognize them.

"Who are these people?"

He slowly wanders toward the bar and glances at the bartender. He recognizes the symbol that he wears but not what it symbolizes.

"I need your help."

((welcome Khylorn =) ))
Mazithra-Amakiir

10-27-04, 11:24 PM
Mazithra doesn't say a word; he doesn't have to. His eyes say all that they need to; it is a look of gratitude and, perhaps, thankfulness, and yet, even more, the need to fulfill this duty, with ally or not. Picking up the book, the Githerzai, after nodding to Christopher, takes a seat at the bar as he begins to peruse the book before him.
Lord Tarran

10-28-04, 04:11 PM
Chrisopher is over the bar with a potion in hand when the man first goes down, catching him as his knees buckle the second time, sitting him down, and pouring the powerful healing potion down the man's throat. After hearing the man's questions, and seeing that his surface mind, even into his deep mind, have no memories, though Christopher recognizes Khylorn. It upsets him to see his friend in such a state, but no one is the wiser.

You are in the Darkhole Inn, Khylorn,my home. You probably somewhat recognize Miror over there in the corner, though Malik is no where to be found. I am Christopher, but at the moment I can tell you no more than that. You seem to have lost your memories. May I try to bring them back?

*Leaves the tavern.*
Khylorn the Shifter

10-30-04, 07:10 AM
Khylorn stares at Christopher, captivated as he speaks.

"I think I once knew someone named Christopher."

He sighs in frustration. He looks Christopher in the eyes, completely unintimidated by their complete darkness.

"Christopher, I'll tell you that I can remember a single thing. Someone took away my memories. No one can bring them back but that person."

He glances around nervously, and sighs again.

"The problem is, I don't know who. But maybe it's in here, and you can help me with that."

He taps his head with one finger. Then he smiles.

"Can I have a drink, Christopher? Perhaps something I enjoyed before."
Lord Tarran

10-30-04, 05:16 PM
Though confident that he is quite capable of restoring the man's memory, Christopher shelfs it for the moment, deciding to work on that later. He helps Khylorn to stand, then to the bar. He prepares (whatever khylorn first ordered during the old thread) and gives it to the man, with just a spark of memory enhancer to help with the man's recovery. He tells his friend he'll be back in a moment, before walking down the bar to talk to Miror. As he cleans a glass, Christopher casually asks,

What are you doing here Miror? And where's Malik?
malik21

10-30-04, 05:23 PM
With boredom in his eyes as he replies Miror responds "Malik? Why would I know?"
Lord Tarran

10-30-04, 05:30 PM
Lets start with your attempted slaying of him, or maybe with me seeing you with him last time I saw you. Yes, I saw you pretending to be his sister. So, do you know where he is? And while I'm asking, would you like a job here?

He seems completely serious, but a hint of a catch is seen in his unreadble eyes.
malik21

10-30-04, 05:33 PM
"A job?" Wondering what kind of antics this would end in Miror replies "..and..why are you offering me a job?"
Lord Tarran

10-30-04, 07:15 PM
He picks up another glass, cleaning it out, letting the illusion on his eyes down as he looks closely at the glass. His snake eyes seems mournful. He replies to Miror,

Nezumi still has yet to return, same with Jarkeel, so I am a little short handed at the moment. Without Nezumi nearby, my working is a little off, and I need someone to help pick up the slack. Also, I think that if given the chance, you could finally change fully to the good that I started within you when I first had you in my coils. What do you think?
malik21

10-30-04, 07:33 PM
"Ehh....I guess...."

'Good! I'm good enough as it is'Miror thinks with a chuckle.
Lord Tarran

10-30-04, 07:52 PM
No your not. your still in that strange gray area with a chance of reversion. I can make it so that that chance doesn't occur. You can have a job here, but you must allow me to seal your celestial alignment. Is that understood?

Chrisotpher responds as he cleans another glass, as he reminds Miror of his telepathy.
malik21

10-30-04, 08:54 PM
"And what if I break this 'seal'?"he says with a laugh.
Lord Tarran

10-31-04, 12:40 AM
That would be impossible, though I suppose doing so would kill you, assuming that I tried to make that not happen. Otherwise, I think a quick drop into the pit would happen.

His snake eyes are cold and serious. He seems genuine however in wanting to help Miror out.
malik21

"Eh,what do I have to lose?"
Khylorn the Shifter

10-31-04, 08:37 AM
Khylorn takes a sip of the cherry ale. He looks around and his eyes widen when they land on Christopher.

"You...I can remember you now..."

He continues sipping the cherry ale while memories begin creeping back into his mind. Suddenly, Khylorn recoils in shock. He looks at his hands, and something seems wrong.

"This isn't who I am, is it?"

No one is able to hear him whisper this, but if paying attention, they can clearly see an eleventh finger sprout from his right hand and shrink away again. He glugs down the rest of the drink to see what else he can find out about himself.
malik21

11-01-04, 10:19 PM
The door to the tavern opens slowly. In walks a human-like figure with long thin black hair and light black clothes. Two long fangs hang down on to his lower lip.His cold, endless black eyes seem to drain the warmth from the surronding area and makes your blood run cold.He sweeps through the room towards the Chris and holds out a wanted poster from one of the near-by towns

"Might you have seen vis child?"

On the poster is a picture of Miror in his true form as a kid wanted for robbery and murder.

Miror almost jumped out of his seat at the sight of the poster, but he remembers he is in a different form and manages to calm down...a little.
Daleah The Faithful

11-02-04, 02:14 PM
an elven ranger enters the inn, he looks around and instantly spots the familiar face of the paladin. he orders an ale and sits down next to his freind.
" hello dale, i didnt know you even went outside the castle" he says to the knight.

The weathered face of the woman looks up, a cheerful spark in her eyes as she hears a familliar voice next to her. :mymy:

"Heh, good to see you, Tj! :D "A paladin's work is never done! What good is a knight if she just hung around the castle all day doing laundry and sharpening her longsword?!" ;)

She raises her attention to the gentleman with the interesting teeth. :D

"I'm taking a break from a rather heated disagreement. The name's Daleah."

Her mind is a total blank at the moment as she is just getting her bearings. She cautiously looking about the common room, lowers her voice a bit before leaning in closer toward her trusted friend and the barkeep, trying to behave in a casual manner so as not to draw any further attention to herself. She seems to be gathering her thoughts as she begins to speak.

"Unfortunately there were times that were tough and I had to take on mercenary work to help provide for the elven orphanage. I have taken on a quest for the searching out of the remains of an old druid. As the story was passed on to me.. he was said to have been in a wee bit of a scuffle over a certain drow relic. He was crossing a bridge which lies exactly between a city divided over an issue of it's loyalty..the fish are bilingual, you know. ;) At any rate, the old boy was attacked from behind by a pack of drow fighters. Attacking a man from behind like that, no sense of training I tell you! These were amature cowards!"

A look of contempt and disgust spread across her face like a wildfire out of control and disappeared just as quickly. "So, the druid lost his balance whilst fending off his attackers, promptly got his neck broke as he got caught in the ropes of the swinging bridge, and fell into the stream below. The relic in question is very old and very valuable. The druid put a curse on the relic so as to cause any drow without the counter spell to die a horrible lingering death by vaporization from the inside out. No drow can touch it. The druid's body was swept by the current and dragged into an underwater cave which surfaces into the Underdark. I ran into a few old enemies of mine while on my search for the relic. They backed me into the shadows so what could I do? I wake up later next to a couple of dead guys in a heated cavern. It would seem that someone knows I'm here and they are trying to keep me safe...at least for now. I haven't found the relic or the body of the druid yet." ;)

The paladin smiles cheerfully, quickly downs her drink, rubs her eyes before laying her head on the counter, and falls asleep as her wounds are on the mend.
Lord Tarran

11-02-04, 05:56 PM
Smiling in his mind, remembering the druid she spoke of well, and knowing that the man was not only fine, but living quite happily in the cave she was going to. he turns his attention away from Daleah now though, looking towards Stirx. He recognized the bounty hunter from his appearance and his reputation, before reaching into his mind. Shaking his head, but smiling softly, Christopher says:

No, hunter, I have not seen the man. I actually have a vendetta against him myself. He murdered a friend of mine. But, you might as well rest. Can I interest you in anything?
malik21

11-02-04, 06:12 PM
Somewhat depressed that Miror was not to be found He sits down.He had searched for this allusive prey for quiet some time now.He had heard from the most reliable of information that he was here.

'Perhaps..he has not come yet.' He thinks to himself.

Miror wanted to jump for joyhttp://forum.qbasicnews.com/images/smiles/bounce_smile.gif that Chris did not rat him out,but managed to stay still.

"I doubt your tavern vould be able to suite my...tastes..However,if you wouldn't mind, i vould like to spend the night."

Reaching into some unseen compartment he pulls out a goblet With a thick, red substance and takes a drink before returning it to where it came from.

A figure warpped in a royal-blue cloak steps through the door quietly. In fact, it is so quiet that you do not notice him until the door closes behind him. He strides silently over to the bar. You cannot see his face, because it is hidden in shadow, but you get a very bad feeling about him. A feeling almost as if he might be here for someone's head. He sits down at the bar directly across from Chris, and begins to pull his hood back. In the back of your mind, you imagine him having the face of a demon, or an undead, or even the Tarrasque. But instead, a kind, soft, familiar face greets you, and the bad feeling diminishes immediately.

Hey, Chris! Heimosu says with a smile. Long time, no see!

((Ugh, I'm glad I finally have some time to play this; I've been looking forward to it for a while :D ))

((bluff)) No, I have not seen the man in this poster. I am sorry.

((not a bluff :P ))Chris how have you been? I have really missed you and the Darkhole. So much has happened since we last met...

Without physically showing it, Heimosu begins to telepathically talk to Miror. In a disappointed tone, he asks, "Miror, what have you gotten yourself into this time?"
malik21

11-02-04, 09:26 PM
"I didnt REALLY kill the guy..."Miror responds "He just decided that i looked too much like him and attacked me...I only robbed after I killed him,in my own defense of course.Really,What use would he have for the gold in his pocket?"

"WHY did YOU do that?"

11-03-04, 06:48 AM

Calm yourself, vampire, lest I tell the paladin and my powers of sunlight what you are.

Chris says coldly.

Well, Heimosu, nothing of any importance has happened. I'm still awaiting Nezumi's return <sigh>, and most of the Matron Mothers of Menzzobarranzan have resworn blood oaths on my life. My mother is angry at me, my brother still sleeps, my scales still itch when they hit sunlight. You?

Well, after leaving the Inn, I tried to stay away from civilization as much as possible, what with all these monsters popping out of me, but now, for the most part, I have it under control.
At this point, Heimosu switches to telepathy. "I am assuming that you realize Miror is here?"

A figure draped in robes of an odd texture fades into existance seemingly out of thin air outside The Inn... It walks into The Inn silently, no footsteps to be heard, only the flowing of its robes. A cloak hides all but the glowing gray of its particularly large eyes... and a large staff is strapped to its back, one that seems to be formed by a mixture of diamond and an incredibly durable metal of some sort. To the trained eye... one can see the abnormality of reality hovering on the Penjalumn shaped blades at each end.

The figure takes a quiet seat at the bar... resting its three-fingered hands upon the smooth surface. The hands are oddly smooth, unmatching of the elderly stance taken be their owner, as yet to be understood... The eyes blink... and he looks about the inn quietly... "Water..." it requests, the voice smooth, youthful, and feminine, another abnormality in the figure's appearence...

Apparently not annoyed by Khylorn's sudden interjection, Heimosu casually grabs his hand and shakes it. Heimosu does not appear to notice the fact that he has no fingernails, but it is far more likely that it does not strike him as odd.

We may have met once, he says with a friendly smile, I have met many people in my travels. But I am pleased to meet, or re-meet you. Perhaps you could try to help me remember if I have seen you before? You know, something that might ring a bell?

((Remember, I came in after you explained that your memories were erased))

I'm quite aware of Miror, Heimosu, yes. His mind guards are patheticly weak. Oh, and Khylorn kinda lost him memory. I have yet to improve it fully. So could you keep him busy for a moment. By the way, the wards against your monsters are still up on the inn.

All of this is told to Hiemosu through telepathy, as Christopher walks down with a glass of water to the new one.

Here is your water. May I ask what ye be, or at least who ye be?
Arcuna

If it weren't for the smile on his face, Khylorn would have noticed that Heimosu looks a bit depressed. "Thank you, but the wards are practically unneeded. I have...gained a sense of control over my curse."
Captain Binkle

11-05-04, 07:10 AM
Captain Binkle cursed that Harkle Harpell for bringing him to... whereever he was. He wandered though the seemingly endless tunnels for hours. The one-eyed gnome was overly relived when he saw a building. A building underground, Captain Binkle thought to himself. He strolled into the inn and shook off some of his wearyness. "Do you know where exactly I am," the one-eyed gnome said to the young barkeep.

"I prefer to remain anonymous, untill such time as the need for my identity becomes more vital..." The figure takes the glass under its hood, and sips the water silently... "Exactly what is this place... my last memories of where I was hurtled to are vague..." The voice has changed to a slightly alarmed expression of fear, and curiousity...
Arcuna

11-05-04, 09:56 PM
Heimosu, who had apparently been listening in on the other conversations, turned around to this strange, anonymous creature. Again, he shows no sign of fear, curiosity, or exotic interest at seeing this one-of-a-kind ((as far as we know)) person. The gentle smile still has not left his face.

You may relax; you are in the company of friends. You are in the Darkhole Inn, located in the Underdark. If there is anything you need, just ask.

Heimosu seems to be acting as if he owns the Inn, but after realizing how his welcome could have come across, he nods to Chris and says,

Of course, he's the actual owner of the Inn. Sorry, this place just feels like home to me. :D

Arcuna

11-05-04, 10:19 PM
At hearing this question, Heimosu's interest perks up.

Indeed, it is. Why, where do you come from?

He seems to have completely forgotten about the presence of Miror, that weakling fool who had to imitate others' powers just to stand a chance in combat.
Heimosu's cloak changes back to it's royal blue color; in fact, it's an even deeper blue than before. Heimosu doesn't appear to notice that it changed.

((That's Heimosu's opinion on Miror, not mine. I actually think Miror's kinda cool :) ))

"I am from... Terisia..." The figure looks at Arcuna quietly, wondering exactly what Arcuna is... It had not visited Faerun in several thousand years, and the one time it had, it had stayed in a land called Amn, which it barely remembered... This was slightly overwhelming to the figure (I really mean I aint revealing my identity... :)) "I was in a war.. a particularly sorry one..." (and badly role-played)...

The figure looked back at its glass, and took aonther sip, continuing to speak without looking back at Arcuna... its voice tinged with effort... the last of its memories blury... "I broke a promise... and it was bound in blood... my services to a living memory... I would have died...and I still do not understand... why I am not dead..."

"My name is Zedar... and... what is yours?"

Heimosu does not appear "freaked out" at all by the appearance of his new aquaintence ((I'm sure I spelled that wrong :P )), and responds,

My name is Heimosu Steiner. Pleased to meet you.

((Unless you say otherwise, Tarran)) Chris finds it almost startling how much Heimosu's people skills have improved since they last met. He is still open to the thoughts and feelings of others, but he's no longer an emotional wreck. In fact, he seems downright normal.

Noting the interesting but oddly familiar appearance of Vedar, Chris slams two goblets and a wine bottle in between Heimosu and the (vahnatai like creature that is from Magic that I can't remember the name of). He has been listening to the conversation, and he himself comes in.

This is Faerun, Vedar, part of the world of Toril. Heimosu was speaking of his journey's into what we together have identified as a far plane, on removed from our realities.

Christopher does notice the strangness within Heimosu with amusement. It appears that his friends travels had helped him. To the Heavens his eyes go, and through his mind runs one phrase:

Mother, are you willing to talk?
Arcuna

11-06-04, 12:35 AM
Heimosu pours some wine into Zedar's and then his own cup.

So, what is Terisia like? he asks. He then takes a small sip of wine. It had been some time since alcohol had touched his lips, and he wasn't sure if he remembered what it would be like. After having only enough of a sip to remember what it was like, and that he liked it, he set his glass down.
Khylorn the Shifter

Khylorn, who had not been listening to the conversation, immediately begins listening at the mention of Terisia.

"You're from that place?"

Khylorn seems to have regained a little bit more of his memory, and he stares at Zedar strangely. Then, he looks back at Chris.

"I think I'm going to need a lot of ale tonight."

He sighs and glances at Zedar nervously.

Zedar payed no heed to Khylorn's apprehention, for She simpathised with the man... her leave had been less than pleasent, and her return was likely to be moe so... "But from the most part... I believe my portion is a much better testiment to what Terisia was..." Zedar's eyes had been flickering with streaks of white while she spoke, yet mostly it stayed a deep opal black... she had missed conversation with people who would sooner shake hands then throw blades across one anothers midrift. She took a sip of the wine, and smiled at its taste... This was mortal wine... much stronger then the honeywater the Laiotean vineyards had produced...

As the patrons in the Inn happily converse with each other they hear something outside. At first it sounds like a soft beat of a drum, but grows louder. The sounds of 3000 footsteps headed directly towards the Inn grow louder with each passing second. It soon sounds like the Inn is surrounded by an army.

Miror quickly runs to the door and opens it to look out.He sees only one being standing eight feet tall with red skin and adorned with chains:

As he walks to the door (pushing Miror aside) he scans the Inn. Not seeing Miror (in his true form) he sits down at a nearby table.

Khylorn seems to have regained enough memory to remember Christopher, Miror and, of course, Legion. After his coughing ends, his hands find themselves at the hilts of his scimitars, both at his waist.

His cloak has become a beautiful bright red. While it is not glowing, it almost hurts too look at it (if any of you have human eyes...) because of how bright it is. The blue glow inside his cloak has intensified, and the light in Heimosu's eyes seems to be flowing out.

((I really would call those falmes on an archon's head eyes...))

Christopher has had enough. His arms lengthen and disappear into his side, his body growing long and scaly, as his great cobra form comes to be. Without a thought, his silver fire has already begun to glow around him, he rolls over the ground towards Legion. WHipping his tail around, he smashes Legion, hard enough to throw a horse through the wall. Through his head, Heimosu hears:

One of her particular swings comes toward home, and would draw Legion's jaws loose, ripping his lower mouth from his head completely if he did not block this particular blow. Zedar's eyes were narowed to slits, her robes wavering wildly, as she went into this technique. All in the room notice, slightly disturbed, that the black patches on the blades have solidified to miniature doors of nothingness, the blades becoming much more lethal, the localized patchs of void-space becming implosive for the immediate space around them...

When the light fades, Miror is no logner there, although the blood he left behind from Heimosu slamming him into a wall (sorry about that! Eep!) and Legion's blows is still there.

Mazithra turned as the great fight broke loose. Everyone in the tavern seemed to be involved in the brawl...he hadn't expected any less. And he had certainly been involved in plenty of common bar fights. But this certainly was no common barfight...it was like a barfight of epic proportions! In an instant, a great sword was in his hands, with runes flowing - quite literally - up and down the blade. It almost seemed that the blade itself was alive, and a chaotic energy seemed to flow within, throughout, and around the Githerzai Warrior. Seeing the massive demon throw his apparent quarry, and then fly into the wall from a strike from behind, Mazithra sees his opportunity. With swift speed, the Githerzai Warrior is charging Legion, his blade leading.

Legion, panting, stands up and wipes the blood from his mouth. "This is what." he replies as fire engulfs him and Heimosu.

The fire recedes, but only one is left standing,Heimosu, to everyone but Chris,Heimosu, and any other mind readers where Legion has gone is a mystery.

Chris knows that Legion is in the depths of Heimosus mind.Wondering around doing something..something dangerous.

Legion finds himself in a strange world, unlike anything he has ever seen before. The yellow ground he first steps on to is as hard as rock, and there is no sign of plant life anywhere. There is a high amount of yellow dust in the air, and you can hardly see farther than 30 feet away. You look up, and you can fainltly see that the sky looks darker than the ground. You hear what sound like agonized roars in the distance, but you are too far away to tell what is causing them.

His eyes somewhat recovered, Christopher makes his way over to Heimosu, knowing already of Legion's hiding there. More than wary of entering Heimosu's mind, Christopher throws many, many, many mind shields up before placing his hand on his friend's shoulder. Christopher's yellow snake eyes close and then reopen glowing blue instead of the gold. He doesn't appear to be seeing the outside world. His friend, the plains landwyrm Ryael, walks to Christopher, whose hand he places underneath the frill covering the drake's exposed neck. The dragon's eyes take on the same color as Christopher's, the symbol of Selune glowing brighter.

Within Heimosu's mind, the two reptilians find themselves next to Heimosu's mind form. Ryael remains quiet, as Christopher speaks,

I see that you haven't changed much in here have you. Well, while we wait for Legion, Heimosu, I would like you to meet Ryael, plains landwyrm, and Chosen of Selune. Not a brother though, just a Chosen.

Legion walks for a little while, and soon he finds two very odd monsters fighting. One of them looks like a mutated lobster about the size of an SUV. The lobster has a large tail with a stinger at the end (like a scorpion), and it is using it to deadly extent. The other creature, who is having a somewhat easy time fending it off, looks mostly humanoid. It has dark blue hair all over its body, it has long, sharp teeth and claws, and its right arm appears to be a sword made of flesh. The large CLANG noises tell you that it certainly is not normal flesh.
The creatures fight for a few more minutes, and finally, the lobster wins. Badly wounded, it proceeds to feast on the other monster's carcas. You find that the dust has cleared a little, and you can see a tree close by. It looks to have some other basic plant life around it (grass and moss, mostly) even though the solid earth all around it is barren. The tree seems to glow with some otherworldly light...
-------------------------------------
Chris finds Heimosu sitting on a root of the largest tree he has ever seen. The tree has shards of crystal embedded in it all over, and they all glow with a faint white light. The sky above the tree is clear, and Chris sees that the sky is filled with millions of dimly lit stars. Heimosu was playing his lutare when the reptillians first approached him. The song was slow and painful, and would be enough to make a small, weak-willed child cry in misery. When he sees the reptillians, he lowers his lutare slowly.

Chris, he says in a somewhat nervous voice. I'm scared. This is the only place not ravaged by monsters, and now Legion is coming here...What am I going to do?

Christopher, feeling Legion's approach, makes a silent motion with his hand. Rayael (correct spelling) disappears, the sound of a fast wind the only thing left where he had been. Christopher turns to Heimosu, obviously concerned, but not worried.

If Rayael does not slay him, we will be forced to push him from your mind, and deal with him in the real world. How are you feeling?
malik21

Legion continues to walk towards the tree. He seems to be a mile away.

11-11-04, 09:38 PM
Annoyed, and a little nervous he responds. You see, I never sleep anymore. I simply enter a trance state, in which I train, meditate, whatever, in this small world I create in my mind. If I am awake, then I am able to leave here by thought alone, but Legion seems to have blocked my contact with the outside world. Although this is my world, I based it on the physics of the real world ((haha, or so Heimosu thinks)). It would take too long to rebuild it to my advantage...But, this tree contains powerful magics, so I will channel their energies into me to help in the fight.

And with that, Heimosu sits down cross-legged in front of the tree and closes his eyes. White beams arc out of the tree and into his body...

Legion gets ever closer to the tree. He sees small purple-white specks in the tree, but he is much too far away to tell what they are. A large circle in the sky over the tree is free of clouds, almost as if an unseen force was pushing them away. The sky is filled with millions of dimly lit stars, and a few large (possibly Moon-sized) chunks of yellow rock can be seen as well.

As Legion comes within 40 feet of the tree he sees Heimosu out of the corner of his eye. He quickly goes to the opposite side of the tree so not to be spotted. He looks the tree up and down. Having noticed the arcs of light he wonders if this is important to Heimosu. He holds out his sword as it is lit ablaze. He attampts to stab the tree with his flaming sword.
Arcuna

11-11-04, 10:01 PM
With a little difficulty, you stab the flaming sword into the tree.

Everyone not in Heimosu's mind sees him scream and fall to the floor twitching.

All of a sudden, Legion feels a terrible hurt in his side as he is sent 40 or 50 feet by a fist engulfed in blue flames. Heimosu doesn't even give Legion a chance to land, as Legion sees a bright blue blur shoot past him. He kicks Legion up into the air as white energy tentacles shoot from his fingers. They wrap around Legion in mid air and begin to attempt to tear him apart.
malik21

11-11-04, 10:10 PM
The flames on the sword continue to burns. Particularly near the end of the blade (in the center of the tree)

Legion screams in pain as he tries to get out of the tentacles grip. His sword out of reach he seems almost helpless.
Lord Tarran

11-11-04, 10:24 PM
Christopher suddenly appears at Heimosu's side, moving with a simple mind shift. Placing his hand on the man's shoulder, a wave of calm and healing passes through him, causing him to collaspse if the feelings of warmth and comfort take over. As the tentancle loosens, and he falls to his knees, Rayael appears. Hissing something, Christopher nods, as the drake places one clawed paw on the man, draggin him forcefully back to the real world. Rayael speaks to Heimosu as both become concious again.

Christopher wishes to deal with Legion alone. He decided, rather foolhardily if you ask me, to take Legion into his own mind, to free yours. He is asking me to tell you to prepare a gateway to one of the Far Planes. He also would like to remind you that the last time that you killed something in your mind zone that the creature's mind nearly took you over.

WITHIN THE MIND OF CHRISTOPHER: Legion finds himself no longer in pain, in a dark, moonlit field. The moon above is full, the shadows deep. Something is moving just out of his eye sight, something big, and deadly. Christopher however is sitting on a nearby stump, shining his symbol of Selune with his shirt sleeve. Looking up from his work, he speaks to Legion.

You made a huge mistake, Legion. Did our last encounter not teach you anything? This time, I will not release you. You entered my domain of the brain, so I'll give you first move. What is it that you want to do?
Arcuna

((EDIT: Darn Tarran beat me to it))

Heimosu tries harder and harder to rend Legion apart. He most be doing a good job, because Legion can hardly feel the pain anymore. In fact, it feels like he is falling. He hits the ground just hard enough for it to hurt, and he realizes that while he is in extreme pain, he is much more intact than he pictured himself being. Heimosu is standing a few feet away, covered in what appear to be dim blue flames, with his face all screwed up trying to kill Legion. Legion would have an easy time breaking free now...

On the outside world, Heimosu is not twitching as much. Now, he is on his back, barely breathing, and apparently unconsious.

Said tentacles soon snap, as long powerful jaws snap shut upon them. Ryael (I like this spelling better) moves like living lightning, his flashing teeth closing upon the tendrils, severing them whole. He bares his long fangs in a snarl towards Heimosu, knowing not to harm the body, but to force Legion from the mind.

But the tendrils did connect with Christopher. Long enough to momentarily weaken his hold on the circle of darkness that Legion could see. The darkness disappeared, revealing the entire plain, before the circle closed over again. Legion could see clearly the great cobra form of Christopher, but much longer and deadlier. Measuring over a mile long, it circled around like a hungry death. Other creatures were seen. One, a great shadow dragon, also prowled the plain, accompanied by a black wolf with vampiric fangs. A shadow of Ryael, a pack of such beings roamed. Other things of moonlight and shadow were seen, beyond the dreams of Legion.

Christopher bared his mental fangs now, feeling the onslaught outside. With a wave of his hand, he threw Legion out of his brain, and out onto the floor outside. The innkeeper came back to the concious world as the devil hit the ground, his great snake form following. Whipping his massive tail around, he slams into Legion and Heimosu, trying to send Heimosu through the door, and Legion through the wall.
Arcuna

11-13-04, 01:19 AM
Legion may not be in him anymore, but his inner focus had already been transformed.

Heimosu stood up, suprisingly undamaged. He looked around for a moment, and smiled darkly. His eyes, currently red, shifted back to their blue glow, as his entire body began to glow too. He was about to burst into flame, except this time, the light suddenly changed from blue to teal. He burst into teal flames, but he continued to draw power. He seemed to be growing bigger, and his body was mutating. His skin was becoming white and somewhat decayed, and he was growing sharp claws and teeth. His face formed a snout, and he sprouted long wings, the end result being what appeared to be a monstrous cross between a zombie, a dire ape, a minotaur, and a half-dragon.

Heimosu took several strides back, and began to cast a spell. Chris identifies it as a sonic version of a fireball just as Heimosu roars in fury and launches it at him.
Lord Tarran

11-13-04, 11:39 AM
Hissing loudly, Christopher lengthens and reaches a size comparable to Heimosu's monstrous form. Leaving the Inn, a shield of somesort surrounds it, as Silverfire surrounds the Werecobra. He sees the sonic ball, and merely stands his ground against it, as the sound waves bounce harmlessly away from his scales. He then circles the monster, creating a area of darkness outside where he is.

"Heimosu" roars in frustration and plunges his arm into the ground. When he pulls it back out, he is holding a beautifully crafted greatsword (big enough for him to use it like the two-handed weapon it is meant to be) made entirely of stone. Flames erupt from the sword and then coil around it, and the blade begins to glow a deep red due to the heat.
Heimosu charges at the snake (whichever part of Chris is in front of him), and makes a huge gash across him. ((Or, at least, he tries to, you decide if it works.))

Legion flies across the room and breaks through the wall leaving a giant hole in the wall to the Inn. As Heimosu slashes at the monsterous snake a fire ball manages to find its way its Chris's eyes yet again ;)
Lord Tarran

11-14-04, 05:09 PM
Seeing the giant ball of flame targeted towards his head, the great snake shuts his eyes. The flames roll over his shiny black scales without any dire, or at least noticeable effects but a sudden increase in Christopher's speed. But the distraction was enough to prevent Christopher from moving his tail completely out of the way. A long gash appears on his side for a moment, as the snake roars in pain. It quickly seals over again, but not before Christopher has released an instinctual blast of magic outwards. A great shining light, brighter than the sun, goes off. The entire cave, large enough to hold a metropolis, is lit, revealing the position of the small in to a pair of unwanted eyes across the cave.

Legion and 'Heimosu' are going to be blinded, the blast simply came out faster than closing one's eyes is possible. In the giant's confusion, Christopher repositions himself, and grows even more. Soon, his diameter is about the distance from the giants foot to his knee, as he attempts to coil around him, his hood and head around the sword arm. The heat does not seem to bother him adversely.

Legion, in his distraction, doesn't see Ryael. The plains landwyrm's scales have darkened to Christopher's shiny black, the symbol of Selune blinding bright, as he explodes forwards, headbutting the distracted demon's back. As Legion goes rolling forward, Ryael stands on his back two legs, like a raptor, and charges again, rearing back on his tail like a kangaroo, trying to kick the demon

Heimosu screams in frustration as the snake wraps around his entire body. His limbs begin to snap into pieces, and he begins to cough up blood. Soon however, Chris finds that he cannot grip Heimosu any tighter. In fact, it seems that Heimosu is gaining the upper hand.

In a blast of heat, light, and sound, Heimosu launches Chris up into the air, slamming him into the cave celing. Heimosu's body is now profusely engulfed in teal flame. His body begins to change again. His bones quickly come back together, and his body recovers fully from all its wounds. His fingers become half a foot long and blade-like, and his feet elongate upward so that he is only walking on his toes. Two short, dull horns sprout on his head.. His entire body becomes bulky and hairy, and he roars as his transformation nears completion.

Flung into the air, Christopher quickly changes back to human form as he slams into the ceiling. Sticking there, he looks upon the beast that was Heimosu. Shaking his head, and groaning something about this going much to far, he whispers something, as the wards on the Inn double in intesity. He then looks, then, down at the ground, muttering something deep under his breath in Draconic. Soon the ground begins to shake, shake, shake, as a massive claw rips out of the ground directly below Christopher. For some reason, all feel a stunning sense of awe, as the tip of a long snout pierces the ground. The head of a collassal shadow dragon comes out, as it looks at the giant merely the size of his head. Shaking the rest of the earth off himself, the dragon reaches up with his jaws to pick the werecobra from the ceiling. The symbol of Selune is seen on his chest.

Did you call me brother? Is this beast the trouble?

Christopher nods, as he returns to his cobra form, wrapping down the dragon's great long neck.

MEANWHILE:

Back on the ground, Ryael was standing where Legion reappeared, as if he had known, and kicks the demon again. As the creature lands, the landwyrm leaped into the air, trying to land all four paws on the demon. He roars as he falls,

Don't bother trying to outsmart me, Legion, I already know how this ends.

Heimosu steps back first in awe, then in fear. Quickly, however, he regains his "senses". He creates a tube with his hands and puts it to his mouth, as if calling to someone far away, and he lets out a terrible, agonizing roar. A ball of pure blackness forms just beyond the end of the "tube", and begins to grow. About five seconds later, it has reached the size of a medicine bal. At this point, Heimosu thrusts both hands forward, and the ball launches at the shadow dragon.

((If it successfully hits, it will first create a massive explosion, then suck the life out of everthing nearby that it can, and then leave that area cold and dark for a while. Regardless of what it hits, this will still happen, it's just a matter of whether or not the dragon is in range of the effects.))

As Ryael leaps towards Legion he finds himself in a mass of flames. Like the cobra before him, Ryael shrugs the fire off over his black shiny scales, as the inn does the same, the powerful wards, supported not by Christopher, but some unseen force, bouncing them away into the ceiling above. He then leaps again after Legion, somehow knowing the move before it is made, and sweeping his tail under the demon's legs.

MEANWHILE:

The ball of blackness phases neither the dragon nor the cobra, who look at it passively, uncaring. It touches the dragon's scales, and seems to be absorbed! The dragon chuckles, reering to let loose his own blast.

Did you honestly think the power of the void, the power of shadow, would affect a beast born of it? Feel the wrath of true void!

The powerful streaming blast of pure life sucking energy pours from the dragon's mouth, trying to take away some of Heimosu and Legion's power.

MEANWHILE: Inside the head of Heimosu

Christopher, and the dragon's voice can be heard. They are soft, growing in intesity slowly, slowly, but definitely getting stronger.

Panicing, aren't we Heimosu? Your magic sense is weakening. What were you thinking? You knew that Christopher was immune to shadow magiks. Did you think that shadow dragon was not? Did you think that we could not stop you? Please Heimosu, come back to us, so that we can help you. We don't want to have to banish you back to the Far Plane.

The tone of voice is actually more condescending and cruel than helpful and caring.

INSIDE THE INN'S KITCHEN:

A familiar dark skinned woman with long silver hair in chainmail sits in a cross legged pose, surrounded by silverfire that shames Christopher's. She is meditating, and obviously supporting the shield with an immense amount of power. She seems divinely graceful, and familiar to those who only know her by name.

After Heimosu's nearly lifeless mental avatar lies there for a dew seconds, light shoots out of his body in every direction, and his tree begins to regrow from the rock and ashes. All of the dust and clouds are pushed away, revealing a beautiful star-filled sky. 20 or 30 asteroid-sized rocks are floating overhead, possibly in close orbit of the rock Heimosu is on.

The gale that had stirred in the cave gave three reptialians plenty of time to change form. Ryael's scale's became golden again, as Christopher returned to his familiar body. The dragon, somehow everyone knows his name is Lucius, becomes a boy smaller and younger than Chris, his hair silver, his eyes grey. All three re enter the inn together, the damage on the building repaired as the shields around become invisible again. Chris keep an eye on Zedar and Heimosu, as Ryael stands next to the counter, ready to pounce on the creature that seems to have taken Legion's place.

Lucius, however, enters the kitchen. He looks upon the woman there floating, smiling softly to himself as she stopped and stood. She kissed him on the forehead, looking down upon the small boy, before saying:

How are you my son?

Zedar withdraws her hnd from Heimosu's head. "He's dead, remember? He was shattered in the mind-form explosion... Personally, I'm slightly confused as to how he didn't shatter your mentality... whoever the semi-omnicient being that killed him was..." She finishes off her rat-ale, and sets the mug on a near-by table, taking her Penjalumn staff in her hands... "I'm honestly wondering what the hell happened... only more questions... you don't botch mind-wiping..." Her eyes, a light gray, suggest rather deep suspicions, and she looks upon the new-comer arily, though maintaining her attention on Heimosu... "You feel odd at all, kid?"

Inwardly, she thinks quiretly... Bloody hell... but I haven't seen a real dragon in ages... and here's three of them... ... She was excited quietly, and the rim of her large eyes showed it, glowing a fine black tinged with orange...

((I'm assuming Chris for posting sake.))

Not at all Zedar, thanks.

he looks into her strange eyes, as his voice echoes into her head.

Heimosu will not remember exactly what happened for quite a bit. Legion did a number on his mind, and I had to hide and restructure most of his memory to keep Heimosu still being himself. It will come back, but only in bits and pieces, before a full return in a few days. Legion, however, was destroyed by something very powerful, probably a demon prince, maybe a demi god, but not stronger. And stop giving me that look. Please. I am a psion before all else, a telepath before even that. I am a creature of the mind, and will not let harm come to those of my friends, espcially not one as fragile as Heimosu's. Hopefully, he will be okay, but his mind scape will need to be completely reformed. I'll talk to him about it later, once you to settle things out.

Heimosu suddenly senses a large presence of divine energy nearby. It is enough that he is brought to his knees. He begins to pray without explanation.

((Hey there, Mrs. Chris' mom! :P ))
Lord Tarran

11-19-04, 11:31 PM
I'm fine, Ma. Did Christopher call you?

Lucius bows his head, seeing her nod. Then he shakes his head, smiling.

So I see that he depends on you still, with me so nearby. By, well, you, why can't he just trust his own damned powers.

He stops for a moment. Looking seemingly through the curtain hiding the kitchen to where Heimosu prays.

I see youv'e been sensed. Wish to meet the patrons?

She nods, as she reduces some of her radiance, and they exit the kitchen.

Zedar's eyes narrow very slightly, turning a deep black... her telepathy phases into Chris' mind... Indeed... I haven't seen a Psion in a long time either... I could have used your help several years ago, in the hell I've been through... She looks over at the now entranced Heimosu, sensing much more profoundly the divine presence, but not caring at all... Her eyes have now changed again to an opal-violet... She scoffs quietly... before disspelling her singularities...

The 'newcomer' looks around at the various people in the Inn.

You may spot two little figures, one on each of his shoulders. One looks like a little devil who is bickering with the angel on the other shoulder.

He rubs his temples and wonders who the owner of the Inn is.Not sure who it was, but deciding almost everyone *looks* weak he mumbles something to himself as a large gale forms in the Inn as well as in Heimosu's prison. The stranger disappears along with Miror and the winds slowly die down.

Heimosu senses that his prison is empty, and silently curses Miror for being stupid enough to kill someone. After all the people he had killed in the past few months, you'd think that someone would be interested in him too...

((I was actually waiting for Arcuna's response to me having Selune coming out into the common room, but okay.))

Looking over at Heimosu with an appraising eye, Christopher nods knowingly.

I agree, my friend, there is a great deal going on here beyond our current scope. I have a feeling however, that Miror is merely a pawn in some massive game right now, not an actual player. When I scan his mind when he arrived, I found that though he had memories of both the killings he made and the subsequent fleeing, they held under pressure of my mind as well as a child's lies. From what I can tell, he hasn't actually wandered very far from the inn in at least 6 months. He hasn't been away to commit the crimes, so something very big is using him. Something with some power on the telepathic scale. Hmmm

He smiles slightly as he sees his mother enter the room from the curtain, his brother following. He also smiles on the thought of the mind duel he felt coming. This could be interesting.

((EEP! She's in the same room as me? How's my hair? Is my breath okay? :P jk jk ))

At seeing Selune enter the room, Heimosu begins praying intensely, not daring to look her in the eye, let alone stand up. The thought of Miror has completely left his mind. If (Chris') memory serves, last time Heimosu met his mom, he treated her like anyone else. Now, it seems as if he is afraid to even gaze upon the floor on which she walks.

The goddess, her aura reduced, walks over to the praying man. With one hand, she places a finger beneath his chin, pulling him to standing with it. She stares deep into his eyes, before saying in her moonlight voice.

Stand Heimosu. You are a friend of my son, and have no reason to bow. You worship me not, and I do not expect to hear you do so when I am present. Please, don't bother. I am right now just a traveler like yourself.

Heimosu tries to find the courage to speak. After a moment, it comes.

I...am sorry...it's just a little, um...strange to be speaking face to face with a goddess. I must admit, though, I was afraid you were going to kill me...

He stops slowly. Images of the cties, lying in ruin and covered in ash, blood, and rubble, pass through his mind. He sees the children screaming for their parents as the monsters ruthlessly kill them, parent and child alike. He recalls how many cities the fiends decimated, and how many more Heimosu himself anihilated. Tears come to his eyes and stream down his face as he stands there, otherwise emotionless, both mourning for the loss of life, and embarassed and ashamed to have the blessing of coming in contact with a diety for the second time.

The goddess does not see what Heimosu is thinking, but both Christopher and Ryael are curious to know what caused the man's reaction. The psion peers into his friends mind, as the seer looks into the personal past. Both are horrified as they see the devastion and horror surrounding the man, but it's more than that. Something surrounds Heimosu, something greater than both of them. Everyone in the room sees as the two are repelled across the common room, Ryael hard into the wooden wall, causing boughs to splinter, as Chris is slammed from the bar against the wall of shelves holding the inn's supply of drinks. Glass shatters all around, as the son of Selune and the giant black lizard both black out, bruised and battered.

Selune doesn't have time to respond to Heimosu as she yells:

Quick, get them upstairs to Christopher's room! Lucius, do something about the glass!

Though the healing put on the two reptilians cure their bodies, neither awakens, but instead seem to be in a fitful sleep.

Christopher and Ryael find themselves standing next to each other in the same dream. Before them is one of the cities that Heimosu had helped destroy. But it was the aftermath that they viewed, not the bloody battle. In the center of the city stood a beast like none that had known, but both recognized. It was a god, a mighty god, one from the Far Plane. It spoke to them before the question was asked.

I am Oakruf the Mad it gibbered. From the Realm far Removed. I've taken a liking in your little friend, I'm sure you've seen, as I make him destroy, destroy destroy. It cackled madly. And when he's finished destroying those that I make him do so, I'll enter the world and take you all as pets. Interefere again and I'll to it sooner.

Both Selunite creatures shuddered as great pain, that of pure chaos, poured over them. Convulsed in the real world, both suddenly awoke, Christopher shooting up to standing nearly instantly, his snake eyes shrunken in fear. He gibbers slightly, obviously paniced, and unable to think straight

We're doomed, my gods, we're doomed!

Lucius and Selune enter at this time. Selune touches her son's brow, as Lucius walks over to Ryael, trying to keep the beast from completely freaking out. Selune's face contorts in pain, as she quickly pulls her hands from her son. She flickers out of sight for a moment, before disappearing completely. Lucius nods across the room, as if acknowledging some one.

Heimosu feels power rush through him. His body begins to take on the blue glow from before. This time, however, his cloak turns a pasty yellow color. Why was he beginning to transform? Why, under the effects of an amazingly powerful ward, was he still transforming? He thought he had control over his powers now. Apparently, he was wrong.
Hiding it from the others wouldn't do any good. He would rather lose his friends than his friends lose their lives.

He turns to Zedar. Zedar, he whispers. I need your help. I don't know what's going on, but I want you to drain all the magical energy from my body. Now.
Zedar ScytheMonger

11-28-04, 10:27 AM
Zedar smiles grimly... "I'll do better... you might want to hold onto something... I've heard it stings much more when I intend it to be fatal..." Zedar lifts her hands, pressing both of them against Heimosu's femples firmly, the pressure excruciating for some reason. As she closes her black eyes, a singularity of void-space opens behind her, attatching itself to her back... Demon sapping was complicated... and in the moment of silence before she truly began her work, back burning from the concentration to sustain the implosive force without causing her real harm... "It hurts me more then you..." With that, she suddenly increased he pressure on Heimosu's ever-changing skull, but now it seemed his very spirit were being crushed... mana was being drained from his very soul, bit by bit as she, her own powers dwarfing his with the endless void exponents, began smothering his attatchment to the mana of this plane, obsorbing it into herself before sending it into the endless realms that threatened to take everything behind her... the effort was staggeringly hard for her as well... She sang through the blistering pain however, the sweet tones of her erie screams soothing to both herself and Heimosu... as a field of containment swelled around them both, to preserve the operation...
Arcuna

11-28-04, 10:40 AM
Heimosu puts up with the pain, at first. Despite the fact that he feels crushed and drained, in the midst of his screams, Zedar can hear him thinking "Thank you, you won't regret this."
Zedar ScytheMonger

11-28-04, 10:54 AM
Zedar continues singing in her screams... the cosmically beautiful screams... of her native race... And the void-space behind her begins to close slowly, as the impuremanas are nearly drained from Heimosu's essence... She slowly begins drawing on the second-piece of the voids ambivalent force, feeding on the leaking manas of pure power, and building a slow seal about Heimosu's body and soul, one that only she herself can control... while converting the last of the corrupt mana into a stone at her feet, the process less painful then sending it into the void... Slowly, the aching scream of void-space inside both Heimosu and her own minds dwindles... this form of void-tapping much more managable then implosive use... With the seal built after several odd moments, she pulls her hands away, endons of solid mana breaking, and hanging from Heimosu's temples, before vaporizing, naturally going to the void without the use of the singularity behind her... She stays perfectly still, save for her arms and hands, which she wraps around the air immediately outside the singularity, and concentrates, shrinking down the void, and recieving the mana it sprays...

Several more odd moments pass in the od scene, until the void-space is gone... leaving mana-burn against her back... She leaned upward, and stood... yes slowly opening again... She falls to the floor, crossing her legs... "When on the spot... void-work is much harder to control.. ithout one of my runes appropriately made for that particular task... I had to do it by mind... How....." She stops for a moment, picking up the smooth magnetite, its surface hair-like, as if it had solidified underneath streams of magma, but instead, these were streams made by mana... "How... do you feel?" She finished, looking up at his now human form...
Arcuna

11-28-04, 11:17 AM
Heimosu's eyes roll back, and he falls to the floor. A few seconds later, he gets back up, and he is covered in sweat. "I'll be okay...Mana is a bigger part of my body than it used to be...I didn't expect it to take that much out of me, and it'll be a few days before I'm back to normal, but I'll be okay. Is there anything you need right now?" He appears to already be back to normal, but it's obvious that he wouldn't last 10 seconds in a fight.
Zedar ScytheMonger

11-28-04, 11:25 AM
"One thing..." Zedar says, shatering the stone that was once the last of Heimosu's mana... She reaches tentatively into a door of nothingness that opens beside her, withdrawing amirror-like stone, with an emerald imbedded in the fact of the perfect ovulette... There is a long strand of braided lenins that runs through it, the neckless appearing quite grand despite its simplicity of construction... She ofers it to him, the stone in her palm, the lenins dangling loosely from her hand... "Wear that... it'll complete the seal to prevent any mana from entering into you until you want me to send mana back into you... Never take it off... ever"... She stands, appearing to already have fully recovered from what seemed such a remarkable strain upon her only moments ago... She lifts a hand, her robes coming to her, and adorns them quietly... humming in faint wails... "Is there anything you need?"
Arcuna

11-28-04, 11:33 AM
I just need to be kept out of any and all fights, he says, putting on the necklace, until I know what caused my powers to set themselves off, and I am able to take care of it.

His cloak had been flaring all different colors during the drain, and now it is a pale blue. And sometime, perhaps when I'm back to my old self, do you think you could teach me how to do that? he says with a smile, and what would have been a laugh if he had been feeling better.
Zedar ScytheMonger

A boy approaches the tavern. He is dressed in very strange clothes, possibly royal clothes from some other continent, or maybe another Prime. He only appears to be ten or so years old. He gets to the door of the inn, but he does not reach for the knob. Instead, he walks right through the door. As he takes his first step inside, his leg is black and appears to be made of smoke. The rest of his body passes through, and he appears to be made of black, thick smoke. He continues walking, and he heads over to Vent. He slowly returns to his normal, apparently human form. Casually, he sits at the opposite side of the table Vent is at.

It's been a long time, Vent. I assume you know why I am here?

((I'm touched by your sig, Malik. Thanks.))

Lucius, hearing the wailing boy, bounds down the stairs to the common room of the inn. Ryael is still incapacitated, while Christopher has come to his senses. Shaking his head, as if to get water out of his ears, he walks down the stairs slowly, his vision a little hazy from the Far Plane God's attack on his mind. Looking out, he sees both Vent and the other boy, and nearly collapses again. The screaming five year old didn't help much, as he rashly threw a silence spell to shut him up. Lucius tried to comfort the child without a word, as Christopher regained his compsure, and scales traced onto his neck. Unlike before, he did not seem on the edge of loosing control, but merely agitated, and so the scales came up. He looked at both Vent and the boy, his snakes eyes now their normal calm, if a bit sad, selves. In a low growl he says,

Begone from my home, creatures, and hold no quarrel here. I have no wish to endanger those in my care, nor this building, nor my home, nor myself. Just leave, and one day, I promise you, our reckoning together shall come. But right now, I honestly, truly, can not deal with your schemings. If you two value your lives, and existence as it is now, and how it could be, leave this place at once, taking the corpse you created out doors. I will not pursue, I will not fight you, I will not hunt. I just ask for peace, and time while I try to prevent the end of everything, including the end itself.

He bows his head slightly, as the door slowly opens.

Vent, unstired by Chris's mournful speech, mearly seems bored at the aspect as thew little devil on his shoulder attempts to hit the 5-year old child with random spells, the angel blocking all of them except one which is flung up towards the ceiling leaving something that resembles a black fungus. As the door opens a body can be seen lying uselessly on the ground.

It is the body of Malik's,his wings torn into pieces, several cuts and bruises on his body and face(some very deep), and his clothes in shreads.

"Scheme? Now why would I do that?" Vent says the words seemingly floating and flying into the air.bg

The boy turns to Chris and bows.

Forgive me, I mean no harm. The presence of that corpse is not my doing. Apparently, however, he means a lot to Heimosu. He turns his head to the stairway. Heimosu has just made it down.

Charon... Heimosu says hatefully as he begins to take off his necklace, apparently ready to fight even though he just said that he couldn't.

The boy raises his arm and points it at Heimosu. Twenty or so tiny glowing balls of energy (some might say that they look like miniature Magic Missiles) shoot out of his hand and surround Heimosu. They quickly slow down around him, and so does he. As the balls come to a stop in motion, Heimosu stops as well, apparently frozen in place.

Please, the boy says as he forms a protective barrier around the time-stopped Heimosu, call me Jake. He turns to Chris once more, and says, The body needs immediate care. He casually walks over to the body, kneels down next to it, and places both hands on it. His arms take on a faint red glow as he pumps massive amounts of positive energy into him.

Arcuna

11-30-04, 10:47 PM
Pleased to meet you, Malik. My name is Jake.
He stands up and walks over to Chris.
What I must speak to you about is extremely important. I'm not quite sure how to say this, so I'll just say it. Heimosu is too strong for his own good. Of course, this isn't his fault, and I don't expect him to get weaker, but we need a permanent solution. There is a far-plane god who uses him as a puppet and forces him to destroy entire cities. Heimosu, however, is convinced that he was only being smashed into walls and such by the monsters he fought, and thus he thinks that he is only indirectly at fault for the loss of life.
Jake goes on and on about stuff that Chris already knows, and finally gets to the point.
As I said before, we need a permanent solution. For my master's intents and purposes, you are considered his guardian. Thus, I have come to discuss with you the possible options.
Lord Tarran

12-01-04, 06:20 PM
Christopher's face is cold as he responds

There are very few options open to us, Charon. The first is to some how remove the influence of the Far Plane God, Oakruf, either through Oakruf's death or permanent banishment. Since it appears that my mother has disappeared for the time being, that may be a great deal more difficult than any one can begin to imagine. The second is to imprison Heimosu. I have wards on Heimosu, very powerful ones, that if strengthened, could prevent Oakruf's influence, but only within the inn, and the cave around us. Our only other option that I can think of is to slay Heimosu, which would be more difficult than you can possibly imagine. But tell me, who is your master.

Christopher walks calmly over to Malik at this point, picking up his friend (who is bigger than him) as if he weighed not more than a feather, and sat him on a barstool. Summoning a potion from under the counter, he pours it down the man's throat as he touchs the man's temple. A great deal of silver fire is seen to leave the innkeeper's body and flow into Malik, healing any physical injury that might be there. Then Christopher lets his telepathy into the man's mind.

Malik my friend, can you hear me?

My master is a...being of extraordinary power named Vox. To put it simply, his purpose is to insure that what is meant to happen actually happens. He takes in individuals of particular interest as students. I am one such student. Apparently, Heimosu may be another. Or, it may be someone he associates himself with, perhaps Malik, for instance, or maybe even you. Vox isn't sure yet. Regardless, my current mission is not to determine who it is, but rather to ensure that Heimosu and his friends survive. For now, I suggest that you enhance your wards and keep him safe here. I will help in any way I can.

Jake follows Chris over to Malik.

But it isn't currently as easy for a particular "friend" of his, which is why I came here. Miror is in danger.

The orbs around Heimosu have begun to move very slowly, and Heimosu is as well. He is still in the process of removing the necklace.

Vent, Jake calls over to him. It appears that Vent has managed to disrupt the spell a little, but Jake doesn't appear to care. He continues, since you have the most recent information on the demons' operations, could you please fill us in?
malik21

12-01-04, 08:41 PM
"Why should I tell you?" Vent asks in a haughty tone, but continues on anyways.
"Miror seems to be a vital part of their plan, for what reason I do not yet know, but what I do know is tha-" A large explosion of fire appears in the center of the Inn. A large fiery being takes the place of the flames and he walks over to Vent. "What are you doing here Combus?" Vent quickly asks.
"Master Vent, I am here to tell you that the boy, Miror, has not reached his intended destination" replies a deep baso voice.
"WHAT?!" Vent yells in rage as a storm begins to stir just outside the in. In a few seconds the wind manages to reach 150 miles per hour. "HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!"
The fiery being seems to tremble in fear at Vents anger. He has obviously seen him get this mad before. Vent begins to pace the floor back and forth wondering what to do.
"WOULD ANY OF YOU HELP, ATLEAST?!"

12-01-04, 09:18 PM
"No, not a thing" replies Combus with a sigh. The winds continue to increase as Vent mumbles to himself.

"We believe that he is very close to here. Mabey only a mile away. We can't be sure though. I can still sense that he is still on this plane, though."
Arcuna

12-01-04, 09:20 PM
Is he in any danger?
malik21

12-01-04, 09:24 PM
Vent scoffs, "NO, not any danger at all. He's kidnapped thats all...nothing is dangerous not one bit..OF COURSE HE IS IN DANGER!!"
Arcuna

12-01-04, 09:33 PM
Telepathically, to Combus, You weren't kidding, were you?

Out loud, Jake says, Do we know where they are taking him?
malik21

12-01-04, 09:42 PM
Combus has a slight chuckle which is cut short by Vent. "You don't think I can hear you Jake? They are most likely taking him to the Abyss, but that is just a guess.
Arcuna

12-01-04, 09:43 PM
I know you can hear me, but let's get serious here. Do you know where their base of operations is?
malik21

12-01-04, 09:49 PM
"WE believe they are on either level 212121 of the Abyss or level 9809 we could not pinpoint it exactly."
Arcuna

12-01-04, 09:51 PM
What do you suggest we do?
malik21

12-01-04, 10:01 PM
"We could infiltrate their headquarters!"

"We dont know their exact location."

"But Jake knows!"

Vent just smiles.."Yes,...where are your little friends Jake?"
Arcuna

12-01-04, 10:07 PM
Jake looks at them coldly for a few seconds without saying anything. Finally, he responds.

Those days are long gone. You know that. If you don't believe me, you can always ask Lord Vox for yourself...

Just mentioning his master's name is enough to make Vent shudder.

...But you're right. It's about time I payed my friends a visit. Chris, what should we do with Heimosu while we're gone?
malik21

12-01-04, 10:12 PM
"I wouldn't suggest that Jake come. He might decide to team up witth his old 'friends' " says Vent coldly.

"Sir, I doubt that Ja-"

He is cut off by a cold stare that even a dragon would be afraid of.
Arcuna

12-01-04, 10:20 PM
As I recall, the last time we assaulted their headquarters, I ended up having to save your life. But, since you think you don't need me, I'll be in my room.
Jake walks over to the bar and sets down enough gold to stay for a week. He walks upstairs, not even bothering to get a key.
malik21

12-01-04, 10:24 PM
Combus yells out "Jake!Come back! We need you!"

Vent merely turns his head.
Arcuna

12-01-04, 10:33 PM
Jake turns around and locks eyes with the elemental. Combus finds that he cannot look away. In fact, it's as if Jake is sucking him in. Suddenly, Combus feels a slight pain, almost the feeling you get when you crack a joint too far, except it is in his head. As quickly as it came, it leaves, and Jake continues walking up the stairs and out of sight. Combus suddenly realizes that he knows exactly where the fortress is.
malik21

12-01-04, 10:45 PM
Combus comes back down the stairs.

"He told you?"

"Uh...well...sorta"

"Than lets go!"

They wait patiently to see if anyone else is coming.

12-01-04, 11:27 PM
Anyone who is sensitive to magic can feel Jake making drastic changes to his room. He is concentrating an awfully large amount of mana...
He also creates a magical barrier around his room, not like the wall-like one around Heimosu, but strong enough to block anyone from being able to sense what is inside without physically seeing it.
Lord Tarran

12-02-04, 04:18 PM
Christopher is generally uninterested in the events around him, as he concentrates on Malik. He pours a great deal more silverfire into his friend, followed by a great deal of psychic power. His looks into his friends eyes.

Can you move? What hurts?
malik21

12-02-04, 05:46 PM
"I'd rather not" Malik smiles weakly. "Everything hurts. I'm surprised I'm still alive."
Lord Tarran

12-02-04, 10:48 PM
Christopher laughed lightly.

My friend, you landed on my doorstep, and you thought that you would not survive? I wasn't going to lose you to. Heimosu may soon be beyond our help, and Nezumi is missing completely.

Christopher takes a few minutes to explain the current situation to Malik.

We are in a great deal of trouble until we can help Heimosu, either in freedom, or in his death.
malik21

12-02-04, 10:52 PM
Malik sighs.

"It will be up to Heimosu to chose Chris..Where is he???"
malik21

12-04-04, 10:54 PM
Vent and Combus walk out the door to meet with the rest of their crew and attack the hidaway.

The weary paladin has been traveling for many days, (hence the dust.) Having been deprived of sleep and lack of proper nurishment she stands there bleary-eyed staring at a wierd pink glowing dome with a guy who appears to be practically frozen within it.
She feels rather embarrassed at not having noticed him in the first place.
She stands there tightly clutching the leather case to her chest and with her other hand taps on the dome...

"Are you ok in there? Need help?"
Gvyr Wyldren

12-06-04, 03:46 PM
The centaur squeezed his way into the inn. Several months of traveling in the lands of humans didn't make him quite accustomed to their measures, yet. However, Gvyr Wyldren grew rather fond of their ale.

"May I have something to quench my thirst, dear sir?" Although tired, Gvyr made an effort at being polite.

Christopher weary himself jumps over the bar, though not with the usual spring in his step. He gets a mug and fills it with ale, before noticing the broken glass all over the floor from his earlier flight across the room. Waving his hand, the glass and liquid begins to clean themselves up. He then slides the tankard down to the centaur, before turning to Daleah.

Daleah, my dear, Heimosu has been placed in the bubble for both his and our safety. Until we can solve a small problem surrounding him, we may not release him. I'll tell you more if you ask.

Christopher then glides down the bar to speak with the centaur.

Hello there, my name is Christopher, and this is my inn. How may I help you?

"Tsk, poor fella."
She hears the centaur come in and decides that at this rate she might as well have a drink.

The person inside appears to be moving...but extremely slowly. The small balls of energy embedded in the dome appear to be orbiting him at the same slow rate. He is holding a necklace just above his head. It looks like he either just took it off, or is about to put it on.

"A story deserves a drink."

The paladin sighs heavily. She produces a small sack of GP's and tosses it on the bar. She nods to Cristopher.

"A round for the house if you would be so kind."

Let's see...where to begin...ah! ...yes, Marcivo and I have quite a lengthy history together. It all started when I was a small child..I came from a tight family circle who lived in solidly built houses. We were intelligent farmers who ultimately scratched and clawed our way up the ladder of existence until we were entitled to be called a civilization and nothing less. Now, our children, they were taught unto proficiency the art of warfare as soon as we were able to walk!" ;)

The Paladin leaned forward onto the counter of the bar.

"Why,the voice of our clan's mighty chieftain still echoes in my mind today as on that very day after the Great Battle, before we even had a chance to bury our dead warriors. He was brave and fearless to the end. I can still recall his careworn face as he assembled and addressed his people telling them it was not his intention to undertake the war for personal gain but for the cause of liberty."

Daleah lazily rubbed her bloodshot eyes.

"As was the custom of our people, he put on his most glorious robes, his finest attire and did surrender to the enemy. To this day I find it hard to stand boldly, holding back tears at even the rememberence of him being held captive, tortured, and taunted for many days."

Tears streamed down the paladins cheeks.

"He was then savagely beaten as though he were a common criminal, paraded through the streets like a prized possession, and brutally murdered as an ensample to all who would dare come up against THEM. Our clan scattered abroad shortly following the spectacle. From time to time soldiers marched into the small neighboring villages, killing people, and taking whatever they wanted. They might burn a house or the whole village. Gradually there was not enough food to eat because the enemy had stolen the livestock or destroyed the crops. The fighting had gone on for so long that it didn't seem to matter anymore who won. Soon there was nothing left to fight for but an empty, spoiled wasteland littered with the foul stench of rotting flesh, spilled blood, and the cold presence of death with not so much as the cries of mourning left behind. I was a young girl then and many days and nights passed as I continued to care for what was left of my small herd, defending them from predators that would lurk within the shadowed crevices of the perilous valleys."

Daleah sat up as a spirited expression lit up her weary face.

"One evening as the sun was setting and the cries of battle could be heard in the backdrop of the forest I was gathering my cattle together when I realized one of the calves must have wandered off. Though I knew them all by name I couldn't just call out to the calf or I could have been spotted by our enemies. I hid the cattle in a worn narrow cave just inside the valley wall and left to seek after the one that was lost. As I sought after the pleading cries of the calf which had wandered off I could hear it calling out from inside one of the ancient tombs and followed after it. At this point I had no idea that I was actually being lured to safety by way of an underground passage. Later I found out that meanwhile, just above the surface, the enemy would take the lives of my family and some of my friends into slavery. THE OTHERS cleverly had me taken by surprise and brought by a strange race of people."

The paladin smiled. It was as if her heart shined out from her two eyes so bright.

"We have stories passed down our generations which speak of supernatural beings known to us as THE OTHERS or the Sidhe (Shee,) who live in the underground dwelling places. These places were said to be protected from mortals by a magical force called Astray. THE OTHERS took me in and provided me with special food and drink which would prolong my life indefinitely as long as I remained with them. There were three who rescued me. They had dark skin, white hair, and red eyes. They would only come out in the night. Marcivo was one of them. We spent many years growing up together, becoming very close. He gave me small tokens of affection, particularly a golden necklace with an opal pendant attached to it. The pendant was made of platinum folded around the opal. The necklace is a slender, golden chain that hung just over my heart. A picture of an angel is engraved into the center of the opal and an inscription known only to each of us."

The paladin suddenly took on a more serious expression. She wiped her face with her hand and looked back into the faces of her fellow patrons.

"My friends I must leave you now, sleep well..."

~She looked directly into the eyes of Zedar ScytheMonger.~

"When you see Marcivo, tell him..Usstan orn ssinssrigg dos zuch lu' mal'rak, Quor'vlosaba."

Daleah fades like a vapor, disappearring before the eyes of her company.

Daleah was a ghost? Go figure...

Christopher is not surprised, though he hopes the paladin comes back, as he returns to Malik.

In the time from when we all left the inn, to when we all returned, Heimosu apparently was corrupted and controlled by a Far Plane god called Oakruf. Oakruf has been using Heimosu to destroy this world, and to help bring him to this one. When Heimosu first arrived, the god tried to use Heimosu against me, to a failing effect. In the time we've been away, I awoke my brother, as well as found a new friend to help me. So we contained Heimosu, who was then actually contained later on by Jake, this creature who recently showed up.
Arcuna

12-08-04, 09:25 PM
((Well, it was actually Legion who was controlling Heimosu at that point, but the powers that Heimosu used were given to him majorly through Oakruf, but also through training and honing his skills.))

The amount of mana in Jake's room spikes yet again. This time, however, it remains at a constant level, give or take a little fluxuation.

Malk sighs in confusion as he rolls of the bar and staggers up to his room. He holds a key up, showing Chris that he stillhad his key from the last time he had come..Pointing to where he had previously been he shows a small bag of gold to pay to stay the night. Although the key seems losely held by Malik, it seems obvious that he would lose it if his life depended on it. He walks past Heimosu, seemngly not noticing "Hi Hemosu" he says, in a daze. He continues up to his room at a slugs pace.

A Drowess appears in the doorway of the inn. She gracefully slides her pale hair over one of her delicately pointed ears as she makes her way to a far dark corner of the inn. She sits at a table and lowers the brass lamp light flame. Her eyes are a soft glowing lilac color and her slender frail dark form is surrounded by a magical aura of mauve with small swirls of black like curls of thin smoke. She waits quietly as she selectively scans the room for other patrons.

Footsteps making faint sizzling sounds move closer through the doors of the inn as a crimson robed figure steps into the common room. She seemingly drifts over to a table. She is wearing deep black boots which still make sizzling sounds with each step as she draws closer into veiw. Tongues of flame coming from deep within lick from the outter edges of her clothing. She pulls the robe tighter about herself to keep them from escaping yet they do not produce enough heat to cause any alarm to anyone. She is well able to control the volatile nature of her appearance and her presence exudes a strong overall sense of moral, casting out all presence of fear. She detects an evil presence in the inn which compels her to look over to the drow across the room. A righteous Aura of Menace surrounds the firey archon as she tries to contain her disgust.

Nodding as his tired friend went up to bed, Christopher noticed both Priestess Sin entering the inn, as well as the angry fire elemental paladin who followed her. Looking to the heavens, hoping for piece, the innkeeper leapt over the bar, with a little more spring, and sat down at the table where Ssinjin sat. He says,

Ssin'urn raises her chin and smuggly looks back across the room to the paladin with a satisfied smirk. She then slowly turns her sultry, hypnotic gaze into the eyes of her interrogator all the while keeping a full awareness and her wits about her. The drow draws a short breath as she parts her thin lips, tilting her head coyly toward Christopher, her lilac eyes softly glowing back to him.

He smiles as he hands her a glass.

The aura of flickering black mauve edged radiance surrounding the drow slightly submerges into her muscularly taught ebony skin. Her slender fingers wrap around the stem of one of the glasses. Ssin'urn arches her back as she raises the glass to her lips keeping a distrusting watchful eye on both her adversary and interrogator. Her seductive penetrating gaze turns to Christopher as she sips her drink. She is a hauntingly beautiful dark elf; so beautiful it is almost frightening to be in her presence because internally her thoughts and memories are extremely chaotic and full of turmultous violence............

"Quor'vlosaba!" The word escapes from the quivering mouth as a wave of total shock and disbelief sweeps over the priestess’s face while her life force drains from her mangled, wounded form. Ssin’urn slowly withdraws her falacata from Ssinjin’s spine as if in a trance. Like many other times of special and intense testing and punishments before (Llothtanchwi, the Punishments of Lolth,) Ssin'urn felt nothing, her face was like stone, having no expression as her dearest childhood friend lay dying in a pool of her own blood. Ssin’urn held the hope of life and healing in her hands but would refuse aid to her own who lay clasping her chest, desperately gasping for breath. Ssinjin’s fingers crawled searchingly along the dusty ground, not for a weapon, but to grip Ssin’urn’s ankle. The priestess looks up with pleading eyes into the face of her best friend. The pale mouth parting slightly open as a shrill raspy voice released an echo that would cease to escape Ssin’urn Streea’s mind for the rest of her life. A rush of relief cascaded through the assassin as she slowly severes the screaming priestess’s head from her body and puts it into a black velvet sack. The flickering black mauve edged radiance surrounding the priestess now encompassed the assassin’s form. Ssin’urn knew this sacrifice would insure her position now that Lloth’s hunger had been sufficed for the time being. The assassin tore a piece of cloth from her prey’s tunic and wiped her blades clean.

"A priestess’s sole purpose in life is to weed out the weak and sanctify the strong. It is the drow way. Those who show signs of weakness, reject the training of treachery and ruthless ambition, show any affection or caring for others, or question the dogma of success at any price they are the beginnings of a plague and must be rapidly weeded out." Ssin’urn said coldly as she carved another notch in the handle of her falcata, threw the bloody cloth onto the headless body of her sister and walked away.

These long buried memories came flooding back to Ssin’urn Streea as she walked into the inn.......

Ssin'urn feels a horrific sense of dread coursing through her veins but her exterior doesn't reflect the slightest hint of fear. She is only a detached, cold, strong sadistic shell of a woman.

" Lu' fridj vel'bol xun dos talinth dos gumash xun whol uns'aa nindel Usstan shlu'ta naut xun whol usstan? Ol orn'la ann'ish nindel dos inbal mzild ssrig'luin d' uns'aa taga Usstan xun whol dos."

The firey archon, satisified with the impact of her holy presence in the face of her less than noble adversary, doesn't speak but none the less honors Christopher's reasonable request. Her piercing, bright ruby red eyes retain an inner strength that no words can adaquately express. Her long mane of coppery red hair crowns her sublime yet stoic facial expression barring an unshakable countenance that suggests great volumes of wisdom and conviction.

She is such a delicate, fine featured female. So beautiful with a coy yet innocent quality despite her seething inner workings, almost too beautiful to be a drow. Ssin'urn slips back thoughtfully in her chair, her slender fingers holding the stem of her glass in a genteel manner as she sips the spicy drow wine. Though she is an exceptionally faithful priestess and her prayers to Lloth seldom if ever have gone unanswered, she finds it extremely hard to concentrate in the menacing presence of the archon.

The drow instinctively feels the gaze of the deep blue, almost purple eyes of the centaur upon her. She slowly turns her soft glowing lilac eyes to briefly meet his with a gentle, subtle smile. The drow half closes her eyelids as she looks down to the reflection of him in her glass. She is an excellent strategest and quickly sizes him up in matter of seconds. She is aware that centaurs are usually solitary neutral good ranger types. Sometimes they are druids, these are usually a tribe’s designated leader and speaker. He seems to be a serious type having an authoritative air about him though it is interestingly curious to her that a centaur would be spending time among such as the like of present company. He is typical of a centaur, as big as a heavy horse, though much taller at about 7ft and weighing about 2,100 pounds. She wonders about the piece of cloth around his torso because it seems so out of place. It was soon obvious to her that he didn't know much about his surroundings therefore there must have been some reason for his presence at the inn other than the cheap swill they call ale that he seemed to enjoy. Ssin'urn returns her eyes to her interrogator as she continues to keep her facalties in check and wits about her considering the motives and capabilities of her fellow patrons.

Gvyr found his tanned face turning red as the drowess smiled at him.
He needed someone to lead him in this unknown realm he has been cast into. Since the portal back to High Loxarr was forever closed to him, he might as well search for new roads here.

A sense of sad longings fiiled him at the sight of her almost unnatural beauty. But he dared not speak to her. From the way that barmaids and town girls responded to him, Gvyr understood he was considered extremely handsome. Still, he was a foreigner - and as such, did not know the way to approach a lady.

Ssin'urn lowers her head while slowly lifting her soft lilac eyes to further observe the centaur while he was unaware. Verlansia remembered her years of personal struggle against drow forces and the damage they inflicted upon the forests, setting the summer dried woods aflame with a swarm of spiders made from arcane fire. The spiderfires lasted for twelve nights leaving a great vast wasteland of smoldering embers. Verlansia's glowing amber eyes stare unflinchingly as she waits for a response.

Ssin'urn Streea places her palms flat upon the table in front of her as she detects good and rises from her chair as well. The dark elven female draws her attention to the surface elf and lowers her eyelids, looking down at her with an expression of utter disgust. Ssin’urn’s face is like ebon stone. Her pale lilac eyes peep through her long strands of white hair catching the glow of the fading lantern light. A spider runs along the surface elfs shoulder and bites her on the arm.

Verlansia remains calm and focused, keeping her senses sharp, watching the dark elf closely. She winces as she feels a sharp stinging sensation on her shoulder. She looks down at the spider clinging onto her upper arm and swats it off onto the floor. :yuck: She quickly steps on it then places her hand on the wound and looks back over to the dark elf.

Malik walks down the stairs slowly. He seems to have made a slight recovery, thanks to Jake and Chris ;) , he looks around the room, spotting the drow. He sighs and wonders to himself why Chris would permit her to stay in Darkhole. He also sees Heimosu, for the second time, and being as curious as he is walks up to the pink bubble surrounding Heimosu. He runs into it on accident.

"Ow. I must be more tired than i thought"

Walking up to the bar he orders a mug of ale from Chris.

Gvyr has finished his ale. His head was rather heavy already - but he did not want to leave. Sitting there doing nothing, however, indeed seemed rather pathetic.

The centaur ordered another mug of The Darkhole's finest brew.

As the peculiar looking surface elf stands there holding onto her arm

Ssin'urn Streea casually lifts her glass. She smooths her long pale tresses over her delicately pointed ear and sashays in the direction of the heavy headed centaur. Her sultry gaze instantly locking upon direct contact with his eyes. There is a softness in her eyes as if there were some glimmer of tenderness reflecting back to him. The closer the drow moves toward him the more demure and fair her features appear. She is too beautiful and graceful a creature to be in such a miserable place.

A ball of glowing energy, only 9" in diameter floats into the inn serenlely. It is glowing with all different colors which consist mostly of waves of green, blue, and pale red. It leaves a long, sparkly trail, along with its own essence, when it moves. It slowly floats over to the center of the room and stops, apparently observing its surroundings. It then proceeds to hover peacefully throughout the tavern.

Gvyr saw the elfmaid's expression of pain, and wanted to rush forward and help her - but then he saw the drowess approaching him. He stood transfixed to the floor, watching her intently as she drew near.

Back in his homeland, the elves of Mid Loxarr accused the centaurs of abducting and assaulting beautiful maidens. The centaurs always dismissed the accusation as elven paranoia - or fantasy. Animal instincts and Human rationality, they used to say, never gained prominence one over the other. Everything was balanced, they used to say, and evil will never emerge from neither beast nor human in the centaur. The elves were making up this ridiculous story.

But now, as Gvyr's pounding heart made his blood rush fast in his veins - he started to have his doubts...

Verlansia slips her hood down to look at her shoulder. Flame red curls spill out and cascade over her other shoulder down to her waist. Her face as white as wild lillies of the wood and adorned with shimmering bronze freckling. She places her hand over the wound and looks back to the drow. :ahem:
A soft warm white light swirls from Verlansia's hand as she heals herself. She closes her glowing amber eyes as she feels the positive energy flowing through her.The elven maiden knew her own capabilities but would have to refrain from any aggressive relataliation especially to avoid any damage to the personal property of the establishment. It would be nothing short of a rebellious act, very undignified, and not of her nature.
Being a forest dweller she would normally keep few contacts with the outside world for she rarely leaves her forest sanctuary unless there are times of trouble and she is called to fight evil. Seeing that her business with the archon is concluded the elven maiden now realizes that she is in for more than what she barganed for in coming to this forsaken place alone.
She looks back over to the drow who now seems preoccupied for some ungodly reason with the centaur. She has a seat at the bar and notices her fellow patrons for the first time. She draws up her hood to cover her unique appearance and nods to Malik. She looks over to Heimosu in the pink bubble
then leans towards Malik speaking in Sylvan, "A friend of yours?"

Now that the archon is gone Ssin'urn is far more assertive. Her thoughts rested upon the fact that this centuar surely had something interesting to hide. Besides, the Underdark can always use "more" slaves and strength is an important factor. She could also make a few lucrative business deals and with just the right amount of honey for this fly she could obtain another favor or two to promote her standing in the eyes of Lloth. Yet, her cool facade begins to slowly deteriorate as she detects another presence in the room. Her hypnotic gaze becomes more of a look of confusion as she is destracted by her concentration on the presence of a magical aura.

Suddenly, the high concentration of mana disperses, actually shaking the inn a little. Footsteps can be heard coming from the stairway. Jake slowly walks into the common room. It is obvious that a lot is on his mind, and that he is extremely angry, but he's containing it well. He looks around to see that many new people have come to the inn. Upon seeing the orb, his anger level rises to a point that it looks like he's about to scream (and we all know how annoying a 10 year old kid's scream is :P ). The orb suddenly stops its slow pace, and launches at Jake. It flies right into his chest, but it leaves no mark. Jake makes a quick grunt of pain and falls to the floor as if someone had punched him in the stomach really hard. (Everyone who can't sense the orb just sees Jake grunt and fall down.) He gets back up, mutters the words "It figures" to himself, and sits down at the table closest to Heimosu. He begins to bring the pink dome back to full strength.

... Lady dark elf, I will not allow any fighting within my inn unless absolutely necessary ...

"Dark elf"? What does that mean? Is this lady, whom Gvyr found absolutely captivating, is actually evil? How could that be?

Gvyr resumed his intense look at the beautiful drowess - hoping to recieve an answer.

The doors of the Darkhole Inn swing open. Daleah enters the common room carrying a rather large burlap sack. She immediately detects an evil presence upon seeing the confused drow. She also sees the proprietor of the inn standing between the drow and a hooded figure with glowing amber eyes, a drunken heavy headed centaur, that same pink dome guy, a boy getting off the floor, and Malik sleeping at the bar.
"Well, at least I'm not the only one having a bad hair day."She chuckles as she walks over to the bar.
The burlap sack over her shoulder squirms around as if something were trying desperately to get out. She tosses a bag of GP's on the bar.
"Let's have us a round for the house, ay?" The paladin slaps her hand on the bar with a big goofy grin and sets her wriggling bundle down on the floor next to her. She then proceeds to nod to all present and eyeing the drow suspiciously as she drinks her ale.

A rather debonaire large red dragon saunters into the inn. He is naturally surrounded by a magic circle against evil. His appearance is rather disturbing. He has two long twisted horns, beak snout, forked tongue, large thick hard scales like metal, and eyes like molten lava. Chills tumble all over his whole body when he beholds gold pieces on the counter of the bar. He quickly folds his arms, tightly pressing them against his chest as if trying to resist an urge to take the money. In an attempt to resist the temptation he walks around to the other end of the bar. He sees a familliar face in the crowd.

"What is an attractive centaur doing in a place like this? Why would you bring yourself so low as to follow after the ways of these people? Are you not more intelligent than they? She covered her mouth with her small delicate hand.

An enormously muscled wolf with a sleek dappled coat appears at the Inn's entrance. In the shadows, his coat is dark, but seems to occasionally flicker with a flash of light as his lighter hairs catch the occasional torch's light. On his forehead, an inset pentagonal green gem lies inert. After a few moments of looking around, the gem flares briefly. The wolf quietly pads over to an empty table and settles his massive form next to it. As he sits, his muscles seem to ripple and shift into a more comfortable form, his body nestling itself among a nest of fierce claws and fur.

A minute later, a tall elf enters through the same door, blood staining the front of his cloak. His face is bloodied, and his loud and ragged breathing sounds wet, as though he were trying to gasp through a curtain of blood. Quietly as he can, the elf walks over to the table by the recently arrived wolf, a strong limp hampering his movement.

Yet another new arrival to the town, Sapphira found herself wandering along the streets. It didn't take her long to get noticed, as she felt a small tug on her sleeve. It was a little girl, her face smudged with a bit of mud and soot, her cheeks muddied up with tears. Sapphira smiled at the girl and knelt down to the girl's level. As if by instinct, the girl reached into one of her largish pockets and produced a mewling kitten. "What an adorable little thing you are," Sapphira said, both to the girl and the kitten, which she gently took into her hand and rose, making her way along the streets again. The girl followed looking up at Sapphira with rapt attention. Soon another child, a boy was tagging along as well, and another... and another. There was a sense of calm, around the woman, even as her expert fingers probed at the kitten and finding that not all was right. Not only was it starving, as no doubt the girl was too, but there seemed to be some wounds too, as if the creature were stuck in a hole. Regardless, Sapphira knew what to do. She always did, even as she uttered a prayer, softly, a blue glow flowing over the kitten, making it whole once again. She looked over at the little girl with a soft, secretive smile, lifting a finger to her lips as if to keep the secret between them as she handed the kitten back. The girl smiled and giggled, her arms reaching around the woman in a child's embrace, which Sapphira greedily received. It was then that she noticed that she was standing outside an inn, the perfect place for her next act of kindness, though it would not be performed by her. Certainly, she could easily feed the lot of the children with the utterance of a spell, but she intended that someone else share in the joy of bringing a smile to a child's lips... And so she sat, with the children around her, nearby the entrance to the inn, waiting for a passerby so that she could ask for a donation of food... "Kind sir, perhaps you could spare a morsel of bread?"

From the table, Savrael's ears easily hear the gaggle of children sitting outside the Inn. Wondering what they would be doing near a place filled with such dangerous people, he stumbles outside, blood still staining his pants and cloak. Looking around, he sees the woman sitting among the children. A quick flare on the green stone at his neck is the only visible change once he sees the group. Slowly, he goes over to them. In a terribly strained and tired voice, he speaks to the group.

"What are you doing here, bringing these children near a place which could be so dangerous to them?"

"Good sir, are inns not the place where one finds food and shelter? If an inn is not safe for them, neither are the streets where they play, and live. Fear not, however, they are safe with me. You do not appear to be well, however. Come, I pray you, I will see to your hurts if you will allow."

Surrounding her is that sense of serenity, calmness, and it seems there is even a soft glow that emminates from her. Her eyes seem to assess the man thuroughly, though her countanence is filled with comcern.

Savrael is taken aback by the woman's kindness. At first, he assumes she is nothing more than a delusional peasant, but a careful look at the way she carries herself assures him otherwise. With a careful glance, he looks around at the children. Their starving state fails to move him, and he considers walking away. But a note of curiosity sounds within him.

.o0(I wonder...why does this woman, clearly powerful, spend her time with these urchins.)

From inside his cloak, the elf draws a small cloth bag and hands it to the lady.

"Put your hand into the bag and take out what you feel. It will function only once today, but should produce enough flatbread to feed your company here. It's an elven creation, it will nourish like meat and mead for three days. Although...I would suggest these little ones go gently with it. The strength of the food might be a little more than what they are used to."

With a few jerky motions, Savrael settles himself onto the ground next to the strange woman.

"I should tell you, the injuries are deep."

A green light flickers along the side of his neck.

"But they would have been worse, had my friend not aided me."

A silence, and then Savrael asks a question rather bluntly.

"Why do you spend time with these children? They cannot help you in finding whatever it is you seek, nor do they hold power in themselves. Would your time not be better spent elsewhere?"
Mystic Theurge

She did as she was bade, but only taking from the bag one piece of flatbread. She took the bread and gave thanks, not only to the elf but to her god, blessing the meal even as she divided the bread, giving a little to each child and even a few cumbs to the kitten. She smiled sweetly as she saw the children hungrily eat the small portions, and yet were filled. "The One bless you kind sir," and she did, indeed, bless him.

That completed, she regarded the elf and, making sure she had his permission, gently placed her hands on him, parting his clothes enough that she could get a good look at the wounds, which were indeed deep. "where did you get these, if I may ask?" Even as she asked the question, she was able to ascertain the exact nature of the hurts and knew what needed to be done, muttering her insantations and gently probing the wounds, that soft blue glow warming him and making him whole once again.

"To answer your question, I did not seek them, they sought me out, yet they may be helping me find what I seek more than you know. It is precisely because they cannot help me that I give them what little I have. Those who are healthy have no need of a physician, yes?" Her answer cryptic, yet simple, she simply shrugs and checks on his state again, making sure his flesh is well, though she mutters out her thoughts, knowingly or not, "but what of his heart?"

Her hands tending to Savrael's wounds, the deep pain slowly subsides as he manages to relax enough to let the healing magic unknot his muscles. He watches with thanks as the wounds seal themselves up, the tissues stitching back together with the aid of divine powers.

"I should no doubt thank you for the aid. Normally I would take care of myself, but it has been a rather long day and my magic is much depleted. The injuries came from a rather vicious fight involving some angry earth elementals."

A rare grin crosses Savrael's face, the kind which makes one wonder about what lurks in the shadows at their back.

"You know, those boys just wouldn't listen to reason. You steal one little bauble and suddenly you've got a whole swarm of elders trying to kill you. I tried to use reason, honestly. I told them that I had a good reason for taking it. They told me that they had a good reason to kill me. I told them that not wanting to die gave me a good reason to fight back. Then my friend gently explained the intricacies of arcane spells through a quick and effective demonstration."

Savrael pauses again for a moment, to take back the bag from the healer and replace it inside his cloak.

"Looking back on it...maybe he should have chosen a target other than their lord. Of course, they had stolen the gem from our kingdom several hundred years ago. It was a matter of honor and duty to reclaim it. Those are things you understand, surely?"

With a sigh, he looks again at the wounds, nearly fully healed. With an approving nod, he rolls his pant leg down over the injury and straightens his shirt under the cloak.

"Well, these are the things I have to deal with, I suppose. Can't say I mind...although it would be nice to have a quiet assignment one of these days."

"I understand what you say, I suppose. We each do what we want, the gods know that's how I live. We each choose the path we serve, no? But the children are drawn to you, why? Because you can help them, or because of something else? Do you feel obligated to help the children because they follow you?"

Her subvocal mutter is as a shout to Savrael's ears, and he looks at her quizzically.

"My heart? My heart is quite intact. It's only that I find little use for emotions when there's a job to be done, or a question to be answered. I had a question, and so I asked it. Does that bother you?"

Standing up, Savrael realizes that with his wounds healed, he would enjoy a good meal.

"I asked a lot of questions...not polite by civilized standards, I suppose. Then again, who cares? A good question is a good question, regardless of when or where it is asked. But in any case, why don't we sit inside, I'll buy you some food to thank you for the healing; you didn't take a bite of that flatbread. And I would like to continue our conversation in a more comfortable surrounding. My companion tells me that I should learn more about how people interact, he's fascinated by the subject, although it's never been a particularly strong point for me."

"You are most welcome, whatever I have to give is yours."

She listens to the man's explination of what happened, nodding slowly as he relates the day's events. Her countenance does not waiver, even when he gives the details. When asked if she understands such things, she replies "I understand that violence never ends once began, one wrong perceived is followed by vengence, then those who are not central to the matter perceive that vengence to be a wrong and seek vengence of their own. I do not condemn this, only I choose a different path, one that is hard for others to follow or understand themselves. It is natural to seek retribution, and that I do understand."

When hearing his desire for a quiet assignment, she nods again and responds "it is ironic that peace is sometimes fought for harder than anything else. Yet something tells me that your spirit would not take rest for long."

"I do not know why the children follow me, perhaps it is because I offer them what even their parents sometimes cannot, unconditional love. I require nothing from them, yet freely offer whatever I have, just as I offer everyone else. It is hard for some to understand and that is certainly alright."

"Please do not take offense, I am not bothered by any of your questions and will answer to the best of my ability. I thank you for the offer to join you inside, though I do not require sustenance. Perhaps a bit of water will suffice, however. And we can talk."

She rises effortlessly, once again turning to the children, she offeres a brief blessing to them and shoos them off before following the man inside.

Jake speaks calmly and professionally. His master demands it. I assume you're here for a reason if you're gonna make an entrance like that. What do you want?

"Jolly good, yes..just thought I'd caught a wiff of you here."The dragon says in a low rummbling voice as he watches more newcommers enter the inn. :D

He nods cheerfully, raising his glass to Daleah. Draco looks outside the window as if seeing something afar off, he frowns grotesquely, turns back to his friends, sighs.

With a nod, the elf turns and leads the woman inside. As he turns to enter the Inn, a small green flicker is visible from his neckline. A few feet into the room, they are met by a wolf the size of a miniature pony with a pentagonal green gem set into his forehead. Savrael gestures to the canine while speaking to the lady.

"He'll bring you over to the table, I'll get some food and join you there."

The wolf nods his head and escorts her to the rickety table. An unseen force draws the chair out for her, and Yikkiy waits for her to get comfortable before seating himself on his back haunches. Even sitting, his nose is parallel with her head. With a few whuffs, Yikkiy looks around the room before settling himself down, muscles rippling down his back. The gem on his head begins to glow with a deep resonance. It shifts through the shades of green before settling on a dull aquamarine.

*Sorry about him, he's not really a people person like I am. Well, I suppose I'm not a people person either, more like a people wolf. Are you a wolf person? Most people aren't wolf people, they think we all have fleas. Silly meat. I'm Yikkiy, by the way. That's Savrael over at the bar, he probably didn't even introduce himself. It's been a long day, though. Can't blame him. Did you heal him? He can do it himself, but he had to use everything just to get out of there. I keep telling him to think first, but he never listens. All it would have taken would have been a good plan, and they'd never have noticed us. Sometimes, I think he likes the challenge of when everything goes wrong.*

At this point, Savrael returns to the table with a whole roast chicken, a large loaf of bread and a hunk of halfling spicecheese. Under the other arm is a small cask with two mugs on it. With a loud thunk, he puts the earthenware plate with the chicken onto the floor. Dipping the two mugs into the cask, he draws out a clear liquid before placing the rest of the cask on the floor next to the chicken. With a nod, he hands one of the mugs to the lady.

"It's elven stormwater, made from the treeflowers that get knocked down after heavy rains. Don't worry, it's nothing alcoholic; I know some of you priest-types don't like booze. I never drink more than a mug, so it'll go to waste if you don't. I've bought enough bread and cheese for two, so you can eat some if you want, or take it and give it to those kids. Can't believe that you don't need food, everyone's got to get something in their stomach once in a while."

Savrael notices a strange expression on the lady's face as she glances at Yikkiy.

"Ah, you've met him then. I suppose he's been telling you what an antisocial plod I am? Well, I'm good at my job, and that's what matters."

This is a completly legal uncheap character. His total ECL equals 15. I play this character down at the Guild House in the Inter-Foundation Guild Wars and nobody has said it's cheap since I started playing him so don't attack me for playing demonlike character. She responds to the wolf, being no stranger to telepathic communication. Greetings to you, Yikkiy, I am called by Sapphira. Your friend does not bother me, and he seems fairly nice. I am pleased to make your acquintences. You seem quite large for a wolf, and I have helped many of your smaller bretheren before, so I do not worry about fleas and such. She smiles at the wolf and takes note of Savrael's return. She accepts the water and thanks him, saying "I will eat some bread if you insist, I certainly do not wish to offend you. My sustenance comes from the One, though, so perhaps I will do as you say and save some for someone who truly needs it."

She notices then the confrontation between the apperant owner of the inn and one of his "guests," her brow furrowed slightly.

An approving whuff comes from Yikkiy's snout, and his gem flares a deep forest green for a moment.

*Smart meat! You take care of my little brothers. They need looking out for sometimes...they aren't as smart as I am. It's not their fault though, they don't have Savrael to make them clever. He's always been a good friend to me. And when I got smart, I decided to keep working with him. He needs someone to make sure he doesn't hurt himself too badly... So what do you do?*

Savrael nods a gruff acknowledgement to Sapphira as she accepts the offer of bread.

"Thank you. Wouldn't want to look like a ravenous bugbear, now would I?"

Breaking off a sizable chunk of the bread for the lady, Savrael passes it across the table to his companion. He pauses for a moment before taking a large bite out of the piece he breaks off for himself. Slicing some cheese with a large knife he draws from his side, he offers a few pieces to his guest and places the others on his bread before continuing the meal.

"This is rather decent cheese, for a halfling anyway. Can't compare to the 400 year-old blends at home, though. And I'm curious too...what do you do when you aren't sitting among orphans?"

From behind him, Savrael hears the outburst from the conversation which Yikkiy had been following. In a burst of speed, Savrael leaps to his feet, the pulse of dark energy riding through him. Both gems on his neck flare a bright green, lighting his face with an unearthly pallor. Yikkiy is also on his feet, the gem in his forehead matching perfectly the color of Savraels', and a small spark of energy springs from the gem and begins to arc across his now-bared teeth. The bladed gauntlets Savrael wears each are covered with multi-hued energy, the smells of acid, ice and fire mixing with each other in an otherworldly palate. After a few moments, it is clear that the situation is not escalating, and the gems in Savrael's neck fade away, leaving only one with a weak glow. His gauntlets return to normal, as do Yikkiy's teeth. They settle themselves back down at the table again.

"My apologies lady, I know you don't like violence. But in a place like this...one is best to be on guard."

With a nod he indicates, in order, the pit fiend, red dragon, angered dark mage, awakened dire wolf, and centaur.

The elven maiden felt compassion for the centaur. It just seemed odd to her for him to be there and even more somewhat perplexing to her that he was consorting with a dark elf.

She looked about the room to all the interesting patrons. She had lived a sheltered life and this sudden influx of social activity was way more than she was comfortable with at one time. Her slightly glowing amber eyes searched every face seeing their expressions exagerated in the shadows of the lantern light. The elf also noticed a another positive presence among the patrons. She looked back to her fellow Sister of the Faithful and the red sanctified dragon with a half smile fondly remembering the good times they had at her own inn, the Dew Drop Inn in the heart of Everwinter. Times have changed and that world was no more. It saddened her heart to watch it slowly die before her eyes. Thank goodness Daleah wasn't going to sing, couldn't bare a sad song right now. She offers a slight giggle at the "thoughts" coming into her mind and answers I tend to all living creatures, big or small, regardless of their background. I am called a steward by some, though druids are alot better at it than I am.

She takes the offered bread and cheese and, as is her custom, she blesses it before she takes very small bites of the bread. She eats slowly, and daintily, reminiscent of someone of noble upbringing, being sure to be polite in all areas, careful not to bring offense to her host.

"As I was telling your companion, I also tend others, such as widows and strays. I have even helped an enslaved prostitute or two find their way to more wholsome endeavors. I often do not have idle time, for there are much hurts in the world, much to be cared for and tended." As a side note, "and thank you for the bread and cheese."

She watches him dash away to join in the confrontation, though her expression does not change, pausing in her meal so that when her host comes back, he won't have to feel guilty about eating in front of her. When he returns and offers his apologies, she shakes her head and waves him off. "I am no stranger to violence, I just choose not to participate in it. Everyone seems to know this and can sense it, as is obvious in this case." gesturing to him as if indicating a case in point. "This way, I can be a more effective healer, without constraints and bonds. I do not condone acts of violence, but I do sometimes see that there is a need for firm action, though I feel that alot of confrontations are needless and can be avoided with the application of the right words. Do not fret over me, if it pleases you. In fact, I am not here to keep violence from happening, but rather, I am here to repair the damage." It is obvious that she chooses her words carefully, relieving him of guilt or pressure to conform in any way around her.

During the meal, she remains silent herself, respectful of her companion, nibbling at the bread she was given. When he finishes, she puts the remainder away, with the cheese, planning on giving it to someone else later.

"Many years ago I was a happy child, living in a simple village. If you came up and told me what would happen to me in just a few short years, I would have laughed at you. Well one day a small group of wizards decided to attack my village, and everyone was utterly destroyed, the village left in ruins, and only a solitair child left, me. The leader of the wizards saw promise in me and raised me like he was raised, taught me what he had been taught, and treated me to an occasional treat. He soon saw that I was actually surpasing him in power and decided that I should be killed before I would cause any trouble to him," he sighs again "shows how much he cared for me...the fight ended bloodily. I was badly injured, but safe. I trained day after day after day, not even taking a rest for quite a while. One day i thought to my self I will do whatever I wantt whenever I wan and no one is going to stop me!. I was still young, only about 10 years old at the time. With each passing day I went closer to the darkness. One day, when I ran out of supplies I went to the nearest village and stole all of their food and water. They, of course, came looking for me. They were a village of peaceful monks and did not believe in fighting. When they approached me, only in hopes of getting back what little food they had...I-I..I killed them...each and every one.

There were several more stories like this over a period of two years before I began killing people just for fun. I would toy with one village at a time, giving them slight hints of who would be next, they could do nothing to stop me. I was number one and they knew it. This pattern continued on for several years until about a year ago when I met a girl...I feel deeply in love with her and we became close friends and companions...I...don't know...what exactly happened..that..fateful night...but when I woke up she was...was..dead and her blood covered my sword and clothes

She had always been a good person and I promised to live my life as best I could..for her, but my eyes, heart, and soul had all been accosted to the darkness and when I saw the light it was to bright for me. In my heart and suol I compressed it to a minimul size, which seemed to help a bit. With my eyes, however, I am not blind, I just can't see. Even in the dimist of rooms I am not worhty,or able without great pain, to look upon the light. That is why I wear this blindfold and these dark clothes, even if it does make me look a little evil.

I've continued my trainig over the past year and have learned to not rely on sight, but my other senses and have strengthened my power almost three times of what it was just a year before..."

I am sorry to hear that, Jake says, suprisingly emotionally. Life can be cruel sometimes. It seems that everyone in this inn has some kind of pain that they bear like a scar.

Jake takes a long drink, and then continues. He is now speaking out loud.

I was born and raised a demon. I was cold and heartless; I killed hundreds just to hear their cries and screams. I had power, and I enjoyed it. When I was still only a small boy, roughly the age my body looks, I joined a small group of demons. They always had plans, and, relatively speaking, had their priorities straight. I joined them because I knew they could make me strong, and could teach me everything I could possibly want to know. They forced me to perform hard labor, and in turn, they fed and sheltered me, and let me quench my thirst to kill. Like you, I also met a girl. But, unlike your story, she was on my side to begin with. She was a demon. She was of my clan. We quickly fell in love. Unfortunately for all of us, I began to grow weak. I would kill less and less as I spent more and more time with her. My superiors used that to their advantage. He sighs, takes another drink, and continues. Long story short, they killed her. I hurt so much inside. I tried to exact revenge, but the others were just too strong. It was only a few months later that I realized how much pain it caused me to lose someone. I realized that every time I killed someone, somebody else felt that same pain. After careful planning, I managed to run away from my home/prison. For years I trained, became stronger. I never once in that time killed a sentient being unless it was in self defense. Eventually, I was found by...Avernus, who introdced me to my master. Avernus said that I had potential and wanted guidance, and that his master could help. I accepted, and was gifted with control beyond my wildest dreams. I hated demons so much that I was even given the option of choosing a new body. He motions to himself. I chose this.

Jake obviously has a lot on his mind that he hasn't said. He downs the rest of his ale.

Now, the demons' purpose has become a bit more clear. I intend to travel to the abyss and pay my..."family" a visit.

Savrael listens to the abyssal conversation, as relayed by Yikkiy's commentary. Leaning across to his companion, he lowers his voice.

"Not a pleasant story over there, demonic pain and all. I'm glad I never had to deal with that, the Council were always kind to me. Tough assignments, for certain, but you can certainly understand the difference between a challenging task and a torturous trial. I was brought up to endure the outside world, to protect the Council's interests. Tell me, were you raised to this life that you lead? Some of our children are born into a mooncaste that is dedicated to our monastaries, they are much honored for their sacrifices. Or did you choose this, like the man over there? Electing for this life over another."

Savrael leans back and takes a sip of the sweetwater, letting the crisp bitter-lemon flavor aftertaste course through his mouth.

"Druids? We have forest sages among our people too. Their powers are amazing, especially when they work together. Do you work with a specific church or group?"
Daleah The Faithful

After hearing the words of many heavy hearts the paladin felt strongly moved. She sat thoughtfully for a moment as she leaned on the bar drinking her ale then looked over to the dragon. Daleah reached down in her pack and pulled out a small harp. She sat quietly replacing a couple of the old tired strings and tightening the new to tune. She tosses a few more GP's on the bar for another round for the house. Daleah leans back in her chair looking toward the dragon with a solemn expression as she slowly and softly plays her harp and sings....

The water is wide, I can't swim o'r
An' neither have I wings to fly
Build me a boat that can carry two
And both shall row, my love and I

There is a ship, she sails the sea
She sails so deep, as deep can be
But not so deep as the love I'm in
I know not how to sink or swim

I leaned my back against an oak
Thinking it was the strongest tree
At first it bent, tho n'er broke
that's the way love treated me

For love is handsome and love is fine
Like a jewel when first it's new
When love grows old, it's ever bold
It shines as bright as morning dew

As saucy tunes warm winter's gloom
Like flowers blooming in the trees
Beautiful cockle shells and silver bells
Forever my love will be for thee

The water is wide, I can't swim o'r
An' neither have I wings to fly
Build me a boat that can carry two
And both shall row, my love and I

And both shall row, my love and I

"Well, I guess that's it for me. I need to talk to an orcish farmer." :P

She nod to Draco, stands, takes up the squirmming burlap sack, tossing it over her shoulder. The paladin downs her ale and walks out of the inn. :D

"I should be off soon anyway before the day sets in well." He says to himself as he scratches the back of his neck. The red dragon toddles off behind the paladin accidently knocking over a few chairs with his tail. He flashes a grotesque exagerrated smile while straightening the chairs to their original formation. He can't help but to chuckle on the way out.

"What is truly sad, my friend, is when one wants to live a life of peace and yet cannot attain it. I weep for people like that. And yet, it is not just our choices that determine our course, but our attitude. Our bodies are not food and shelter and gold, but we are meant for much more than that. If only people knew that the path to redemption begins with a single step, and yet for some reason it is the hardest step to take. I have seen people like this. So sad." She sihs a bit, and for the first time she looks troubled, but it passes within a few moments. "I chose my life, and yet, I di not. It is difficult to explain. You see, I was born into nobility, not powerful nobility, but my family was privelidged. And wealthy. My parents were good people, strong in their beliefs. Do you think they did wrong in raising me? Alas, they worshipped a different god than I do, and were very reverent. But when I was young, I was visited by one from on high, whose name cannot be uttered. I was... shown things. And that is where the journey began. Looking back, I would not have changed my course."

She smiles then and looks Savrael in the eyes. "Such heavy conversation. Life should be enjoyed, not just pondered, don't you think? But I ask you, do you choose your course, or has it been chosen for you?"

Moved by Jake's story, Itos, almost after several minutes, replies, "I will come..in a little while. You can go ahead and I will find you."

Jake smiles. Thank you. I will begin my preparations.

Itos finds himself unable to look away from Jake. His gaze seems to be getting deeper and deeper until...

...That hurt. Or did it? Itos realizes that he knows exactly where the demon fortress is. Jake stands up and walks over to Heimosu's bubble as if it had never happened. He puts his hands on the dome, relaxes his body, and closes his eyes. The dome begins to ripple, and then shatters as if it were glass. Before the shards can even reach the bottom, they turn to liquid and get sucked into the small balls of energy. The balls then flow into Jake.

Heimosu falls onto one knee. Roughly at eye level, he roars at Jake,

Charon! Why are you here? I already told you that I'm not interested. Vox will just have to find someone else.

Jake smiles kindly and puts his hand on Heimosu's shoulder. You can faintly see a blue and red glow flowing from Jake's body, through his arm, and into Heimosu.

Actually, right now I have need for what you are, not what you could be.

For a second, Heimosu has a look of alarm, but his expression slowly becomes numb. After about 30 seconds, Heimosu stands up again. He looks around the room, and then down at Jake.

This is...rather amazing, really. I mean, it's not so much the amount of power as it is the...uniqueness of it. I will try to supress Heimosu's thoughts so that he can't be found by that far-plane god.
Jake smiles again. C'mon, Avernus. You'll have all the time you need to get accustomed to his body on the way. Let's go.

Jake and Avernus/Heimosu proceed to walk out the door. Don't worry, Chris, I'll take good care of Heimosu.

((Remember everyone, all OOC posts must be placed in the double parathesis or in the title. Also, the Darkhole is the only building in a massive cave of the underdark. There is no civilization anywhere nearby.))

Suddenly, a wave of forboding passes over all within the inn. Over the past few hours, a cloying darkness has moved over the cave, encircling the inn in blackness. An aura of light from the building just kept it at bay, as through the windows large creatures can be seen just in the darkness. They look like giant spiders, but the darkness makes it hard to tell. Christopher freezes where he stands, as Ryael, the jet black plain's landwyrm, comes down the stairs and outside the door. The magical prescence of Lucius has disappeared, as if he has left the building, which he has. Christopher whispers something under his breath before roaring.

Everyone! Feldriow warriors! Fight if you can, hide if you can't!

((Feldriow are drow werespiders. Oh, and there are thousands in that darkness.))

Malik wakes up, too tired to walk crawls near the door. He mutters something under his breath as a small hole is drilled in to the front wall. It is just large enough for a small arrow to fit through. Malik pulls a bow and arrow out and pokes the arrow just into the hole. The arrows seem to glow with a strange light as he shoots a few of them out. When he first shoots them they go so fast that they are invisible to almost everyone. When they collide with an object they explode with such force that it has enough power to knock down a normal building.

With that he charges at the Drow Werespiders and starts to hack them to peaces one by one. There's to many of them though. He then unfoldes his wings and flys up into the air were they can't get him. He then repetivly casts fireball on the spiders.

Savrael finishes his gestures, and Yikkiy emits a low growl. A gash in reality appears in front of them, swirling and enlarging to encapsulate the three. They find themselves rushing through a starless void towards a set of five glowing lights. Knowing the way, Savrael pulls on Sapphira's hand, drawing her towards one of them. He presses his ethereal hand against the portal, and the three find themselves tumbling back into a bright and harsh reality.

Christopher moves like a creature possessed, slicing Feldriow in two with a rapier that appeared in his hand as he makes his way towards the bar. Arriving behind it, he takes a bottle of glowing liquid out from a drawer. Roaring something, the werecobra hurls the vial at the ground.

Great silver flames explode from the spot, sweeping along to brun alive all the Feldriow, while leaving all others unharmed. Though the army of monsters still remains outside of the Inn, the actual building is momentarily safe, as a shield of silver fire wraps around it.

Christopher makes his way to the center of the common room, and beckons to all those still alive and around.

She smiles looking down at her drink, taking a good healthy swig.

"Aye, the drink is like firelight, it won't let you read fine stories but its warm and you wont see the dust on the floor." ;)

She sighs as she takes thought of the matter and a sip of her drink. The paladin senses movement. She looks back to the door to see another one of the spiders. She takes a dagger from her hair, and sends it flying like a bird into the center of it's being. She returns to thoughtfully sipping her drink again before removing the dagger and wiping it clean on the spider's body.

As she takes a moment to send positive energy to her wounds Daleah hears another voice in the room and looks over her shoulder to the half demon, half angel. She observes his body language, mannerisms, and tone of voice. Something didn't seem to add up to her, just a gut feeling. She rests her chin in the palm of her hand thoughtfully. Daleah grips the handle of her mug and takes another quick swallow of her drink. She had to consider this carefully. If he were lying perhaps there was a good reason for it. Then again..

"I have very little knowledge of magics but I can fight em off for a time."

That deadly glance that seems to suck her in. Into the very depths of the Abyss, or into the soaring heights of the heavens.

As Malik stares deeply into her soul he finds that she has not a trace of fear within any fiber of her being although, she does have a great deal of patience and mercy. She is a woman of extremes, tender hearted, especially toward children and the aged, highly compassionate, observant, alert, encouraging. She can also be gravely remorseful, but quick to make amends when she realizes she has done wrong. She has a great appreciation for all life, wisdom, culture, music, and art. She has a strong reverence for authority, honesty and truthfulness, though her respect is not easily won.

"My friends, it is not for want of drunkeness, but where I come from peasants have for centuries used special recipes to help them stay healthy and to help them survive both illness ,the weather and other hardships. When mixed with traditional clan hospitality, good music, and a warm fire they help to make for a fine evening and a merry heart."

Light.....Brilliant and Blinding poors into the area. It isn't manifested in a discernable point, but rather it is an all-encompassing gleem that fills the area. The light fades, or rather draws in upon itself and slowly shapes into that of a man, average height and build. Once the light finishes it's transformation, a half-elf stands his ground and glances around. The first thing noticable upon the half-breed is the magnificient white cloak, silver trimmed, that hangs to the floor. His hair, a white color, hangs to his shoulders, and his shoes match his cloak. Perhaps the most discerning feature, however, is his all white eyes. Void of pupil or Iris, the all white slits glisten with inner power. The man reaches a hand out and a staff appears there; long, smooth, and topped with a huge red diamond. He taps the bottom of the staff upon the rough ground, and the air thickens. A concussion within the fabric of space itself sounds within the heads of all those nearby, and more than a few feldriow's heads explode with the force of the power......

(( Ignore this if you are psionic-resistant.))
A whisper shapes into the minds of all those in attendance, then forms into a voice, flowing and translucent.....Is this the Inn of Darkhole? It asks, and those who recieve it feel a connection, a line, in which they know they can mentally respond.

Next to Heimosu is a boy who appears to be only ten years old. He is firing red, glowing, marble-sized balls at all the feldriow who approach him, which appear to be draining their energy. One of the spiders tries to bite him, but he disappears in a puff of thick black smoke, reappears on top of the spider, and bashes it with the morning star he got from Vent.

Yeah, he responds. But it won't be for long, if we let these feldriow have their way.
