| Leeanthra Windfall11-07-03, 09:44 PM | She works diligently on her pub, that is surrounded by the forest, for several nights and days. For those who pass by, it seems she never rests from working. On her last day of construction she sits down outside of the place and leans against the wall resting. A few minutes pass, with a sigh she stands and begins again. Finally, it is finished. As a finishing touch she adds the sign (look on the website for what the sign looks like). She opens the wooden doors of the pub and walks in. In each corner of this place are tables, for those who would rather sit in the back than be sitting in the middle of everything. There are a total of twenty tables, 4 square (ones in the corner) and 16 round, that sit four people on each. On each table is a vase that holds a frozen white rose. At the back of the pub is the bar, that has stools that rise up to meet the height of the bar. There are 4 windows, two in the front and one on each side of the place. There aren't any windows at the back. Also, there is one door at the back, but on the door hangs, "OWNER ONLY." She heads to the back of her newly built pub smiling with pleasure of her work. She steps behind the bar waiting for her first customers to arrive. |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-08-03, 10:29 PM | A gruff looking dwarf pops his head through the door, and looks a round, before walking in. “Tis a bit quite for me” he says as he walks across the room, to the bar. He sets himself up on one of the tall stools, by hoisting his stout body. “Now sweetie, gives me ye finest Gray Ale” |
| Leeanthra Windfall11-08-03, 10:37 PM | She smiles at him, "Well, welcom to the Four Oaks Pub! One Gray Ale coming right up!" She gives him a wink then busys herself behind the bar fixing his drink. "It is quiet for I have just opened sir, I only hope that there will be more customers. That will be one silver sir." She places the glass down in front of him, "Anything else for you? Any food for ye?" |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-08-03, 10:54 PM | "I be taking some roasted pig if ye have it?" He hands her a dirty but still good silver peace. "Thy eyes is rather cute for an Elf! Eat a little more so thier be more told cha, with me arms" He drinks deeply and burps. |
| Leeanthra Windfall11-08-03, 11:00 PM | She smiles with a slight blush, "Well thank ye very much sir. The name is Leeanthra not elf. Roasted pig? Yes I do believe I just started some in the kitchen not long ago, it should be ready soon. I better go check on it now." She turns and heads for the kitchen to check on the pig and the other delicious foods. |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-09-03, 10:07 AM | Rocky looks at the place. "Maybe I can take the furniture and sale it?" He then shrugs and waits for the winch of a barmaid |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-09-03, 11:08 AM | http://leeanthra-windfall.o-f.com/Four_Oaks_Pub_Sign.jpg After a glance at the sign, a new paron enters: A full 7'5" tall black minotaur, with very loud and deep voice, and black scalemail that covers most of his body, leaving the chest revealed, to show either fearlessness or an opened heart in the minotauric tradition {this chest is ofcourse muscular as all hell}. He carries an ivory staff, that symbolizes his rank within his own pepole, and has fancy mabanite symbols curved all over it. His horns' edges are sawn off - an indicating mark of his tribe. The minotaur enters the door, slamming it open, and pronounces an indistinct greeting. |
| Leeanthra Windfall11-09-03, 02:38 PM | She comes walking back in, holding a pretty big plate that is almost to big for her to carry. She sets it down infront of the dwarf with a smile, "Here you are sir!" She looks up to find a rather tall creature with the beautiful ivory staff. She smiles warmly, "Greetings and welcome to the Four Oaks Pub, may I get you anything?" |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-09-03, 04:33 PM | "Oh, greetings my lady." He kneels for a second, and does so very loudly, thrusting his right knee into the floor with a noise strong enough to wake up a psionicist. He immidiatelt gets back to his feet, and walks to a chair. "Of food i shall take whatever you recomend, and of drink... black mead. That's fitting for a falure." He sits down, almost breaking the chair in the process, but streightens up and the chair seems to hold him pretty well. |
| Leeanthra Windfall11-09-03, 04:46 PM | She smiles, "I will have your mead shortly. Hmm, as far as food goes I think you might like my creamy meat and potato soup and fresh buttered rolls." She disappears into the back, comes back into the front to make his drink, then goes right back into the kitchen. Finally she comes walking back out a huge round wooden tray perfectly balanced on her right hand. She walks to where he sat down, starts taking the bowl, cup, plate, and eating utensils off the tray with her left hand. After setting the things down, she neatly tucks the tray under her left arm. "There you are sir, when you are ready to pay it will be 8 silver and 2 copper pieces. By the way I am Leeanthra Windfall if you need me for anything else." She smiles and gives him a wink then walks back off toward the kitchen. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-09-03, 05:56 PM | "I thank you. I am lord Atlas Athakus of Sowhorne, and am ready for service, for as long as i am here at least." He puts a golden coin on the table, nods to Leeanthra, and begins eating. He pretends to not have noticed her wink. He knows her intentions were good ones, and desided not to start telling the barmaid of his dead and stolen wife. It is uncalled for, and the last time he opened his mouth ona person with good intentions, it ended up in him failing a mission. His valor is thus somewhat numbed for now. |
| Leeanthra Windfall11-09-03, 09:32 PM | She turns around with the same friendly smile, "Well met Lord Atlas, enjoy your meal!" She sits on a stool behind the bar, waiting for someone to ask for something, or waiting for the food in the back to be ready. She opens a book with a gold cover, and the title is written in Elven. |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-09-03, 10:24 PM | “Yum bacon and ham all at once, tis good for king! Nay just for me!” He takes out his knife and starts slicing away. Drinks and eats almost at the same time. Not stopping until he leans to one side, holding his belly, still chew eying the last bite of food. |
| Leeanthra Windfall11-09-03, 10:34 PM | She smiles watching the dwarf eat, "I pray that your meal was good." |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-12-03, 06:23 PM | “Tis as good as it gets, here be your tip” He throes a couple of coppers and silver coins her way and get off the stool. “Now for some walking, nay me lady I ll be back some day. Don’t ye worry thy heart. When ye see me again I be bringing a bottle wine and will” He looks at the staircase leading to the rooms. “Ye knows what I mean.” Then the crust old dwarf walks out of the tavern, belching as he does so. |
| Gene_Kynes11-12-03, 09:49 PM | Just a drink...in and out, nothin' else. He stepped in quietly, the light hugging his every edge, and wavering at this contact, if only for a moment. A strand of fair, almost silk-like white hair slides across his vision from the side of his face, moving randomly when it comes into contact with his exhaled air. But this is just a small detail, something that this man's presence seems to draw your attention to, rather than his whole. Clad in...unusual (at least for him)...wear, clothing that actually contained color, in this case...the primary color was dark blue. With a loose shirt of the chosen color, with the hints of an amulet of sorts with silver chain leading from a neck down into the shirt, and dark blue trousers held by a simple black belt...Gene isn't wearing one of his more complex 'suits', if you'd call them that...but he seems just as comfortable in them; even without a cloak. A sarcous build is visible with the lack of such a concealing garment, however it's still dampened by his 'pose'...clutching his stomach in an attempt at casually concealing something else. As he slips in, his steps...for once...making noise, Gene seems an entirely different person in mannerisms from when Rocky last seen him. His left eye is still there, no scars at all, and the lengthy, agile katana blade has been replaced with a rapier securely held in a black leather hilt. Not even sparing a glance to the dwarf, Gene makes his way to the bar, flashing a white smile to the lady of the bar before taking a seat, leaning his back against it as he looks around...appearently for a drink selection. |

She blushes at the thought, "Alright sir, I will see you then. Have a good rest and thank you for the tip!" She places the money in a pouch she has beneath the cloak. |
| Leeanthra Windfall11-13-03, 12:23 AM | As he looks at her he can see an elven woman in a plain robe, nothing special seems to attrack any attention to herself. She appears to have no weapons on her nor any other specialty items. She watches the newcommer walk in and with a smile she greets him, "May I help you sir? If you are looking for a drink I have just about everything imaginable here as I enjoy making specialty drinks and even learning new ones. Is there anything special you have in mind? Would you like any food to go with your drink?" |
| kulideb11-13-03, 04:53 AM | Deisa opened the door to the inn and marched in. The female dwarf looked around. She went over to an empty table. she dropped her mud covered backpack to the floor then sat down, she pulled another chair closer and rested her feet upon it. She reached forward and plucked one of the roses from the vase. She gave it a sniff then began to pull the petals off one by one. "He loves me," "He loves me not." she said quietly as she pulled off the delicate white petals. |
| Leeanthra Windfall11-13-03, 08:45 AM | She watches the female dwarf for a moment then finally walks over to her with a smile. "Hello Miss, may I help you?" |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-13-03, 10:49 AM | Atlas turns his head towards the door each time someone enters, and when it close, he turns back to his table. He had already finished it, and now the table is covered {exept for the dirty dishes} with scrolls and books extracted from his backpack, which he looks at, compares, and ocasionally copies several lines from some of them to a blanc scroll lying before him. The quill in his hand moves rather slowly, exept when he raches for teh inc pot. When he turns to see Deisa entering, his eyes widen, and the quill breaks in half in his hand. He looks with utter surprise, and even stupor at the young dwarf. :OMG! She looks just like Gremhar... |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-13-03, 12:42 PM | Rocky was outside uniting his donkey, when he spotted Gene through the tavern window. “HA! That slick cut throat must have paid a healer for a new eye!” Rocky reaches into his shirt and pulls out a necklace, that has Gene old eye, hanging from it. Petrified so that it could be used an ornament of Roky’s past fights. “Enjoy they new one for the next time we meet, I may need your new eye for a ring.” He says this loudly, but in truth the only ones who could here him; were people walking outside the tavern, as he trotrd away on his donkey. |
| Leeanthra Windfall11-13-03, 01:09 PM | She turns to the female dwarf, "Just let me know when you would like to order anything." As she walks over to pick up the dirty dishes from Lord Atlas' table she noticed the donkey looking into the window. She looked at it oddly for a moment then continued to pick up the dishes and take them back to the kitchen, "Refill on the drink Lord Atlas?" |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-13-03, 07:10 PM | Atlas remains in his stupor for a while, tehn finally snaps out of it, and answers somewhat absent-mindedly. His vice is even less loud now, as he lays another golden coin on the table, not taking his eyes away from the young dwarf. "Oh, yes my lady, i thank you." Ever so slowly he reaches to the butt of his staff and pulls a new quill out of it, still looking at the newcomer. His facial expresion gradually changes from surprise and amazement to confusion and doubt. |
| Gene_Kynes11-13-03, 07:15 PM | Gene's arm remained clutched around his midsection, and depending on how much Miss Windfall knows...it may or may not be a telltale sign of stubborness hiding a wound of flesh, or a tear of cloth. He remains as (attempts to, at least) polite as he can stand, however, and smiles once again to Leeanthra. "Nothing special. Scotch, poured over ice, Miss." He spares a glance to the Minotaur...and seems...amused, if not intrigued, by the being's rarity in most lands...and yet it's in a common tavern! |
| Leeanthra Windfall11-13-03, 07:24 PM | She nods to Lord Atlas, "Yes sir, I will be right back with a refill." She walks to the kitchen, dumps the dishes in a tub and then walks to the front, gets a new cup and pours Lord Atlas his drink. She walks over to him with a smile, "Here you go Lord Atlas." She pockets the coin and walks back to bar. She makes the Scotch drink and walks over to the man holding his midsection. She sets the drink gingerly down in front of him. "Forgive me for asking sir, but are you alright? I may be able to help you if it is a wound of somesort." She smiles as she says this, in her voice he could tell she was concerned about him. |
| Let me tell you a Story11-13-03, 07:46 PM | A light skinned woman comes in and smiles to all she sees. She pins a note on the door. She then walks up to the tavern lord and gives a small bag of silver coins. "Please Lord leave my note I beg thee." With that she was gone in a flash of green light. {The Door note says} Attention all those of magical power and knowledge, the time of the calling is at hand. | Leeanthra Windfall11-13-03, 07:56 PM | She looks at the woman who posted the note, then sees her walkin in with a bag of coins. She looks at th others with a slight smirk, "Do I look that much like a man? I guess I better take this robe off then." She grabs the robe by the hood. As the robe comes off her hair bounces around her shoulders that is of white color. Her eyes now show their green color and her skin tan. She wears a long silky red dress that hangs loosely about her. |
| kulideb11-14-03, 04:05 AM | Diesa had been lost in thought she hadnt noticed that the lady had come to her table. At last the rose yeilded up its last petal. "loves me not." She droped the stem on to the pile of petals and got up and went over to the bar. "A mug of ale if you..plese." she said a little more gruffly than she had intended. While she waited for her drink she looked around the room. She looked at the man near her, he appeared to be holding on to his stomach as he ordered scotch. To much drink not enough food thought Diesa. "Can I have a menu as well...please." she said in a more friendly voice. Her gaze settled on a minotaur who appeared to be looking at her. She wasnt sure weather to scowl or smile, but as she hadnt met a minotaur she thought it best to smile. |
| Leeanthra Windfall11-14-03, 10:08 AM | She looks to the femalde dwarf then smiles, "Yes you may." She pours the mug of ale and hands it to her, followed then by the menu. Menu for the Four Oaks Pub 1. Meat Soup 2. Vegetable Soup 3. Potato Soup 4. Meat and Potato Soup 5. Meat and Vegetable Soup 6. Whole Roasted Pig 7. Bread 8. Cheese 9. Meat 10. Pastries (cherry, blackberry, strawberry, apple, and pear) 11. Drinks (any kind you could possibly want!) |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-14-03, 09:11 PM | A few moments after meeting the young dwarf's gaze, lord Athakus snaps out of his entrancement, and to do so, shakes his head so rapidly that it seems one horn could touch the other. He blinks hard twice or trice, to finally shrug off the confusion. This isn't gremhar, her face has minor differences, and minor as they may be, these are not things that change in a person's face with time. Not with such time, anyway. He smiles to the dwarf, warmly, and takes his mug, bringing it up in a gesture that can be interpreted as "Hail thee!", or maybe as an invitation to join him. He sips and tries to continue his work on the scrolls, but seems to drown in nostalgy, while failing to recall what had he stopped on. |
| kulideb11-15-03, 11:34 AM | Diesa held the menu upside down. She had forgotten that in the better Inns the menus were written not spoken. "Emm...a meat and veg soup will be fine." she said hopefully, as it was something that most places serve. She looked over to the Minotaur and saw him raise his mug. She was going to go back to her own table, but the pile of browning petals looked as sad as she felt. It might be good to have company...as long as he doesnt ask me to read she thought. She payed for her dinner and made her way over to the Minotaurs table. "Mind if I join you...of course if you are busy I can go away.." |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-15-03, 01:21 PM | Atlas nods amiably. "Do join. Pardon my earlier staring, my lady; i nearly mistook you for a close person that cannot be here. Leen Thragh, serve my guest a Swirf quolm." |
| kulideb11-15-03, 03:05 PM | Diesa pulled out a chair and dropped in it. She didnt really want to talk about herself not yet. "You dont tend to see many minotaurs round here. So who is this person I remind you of then?" |
| Gene_Kynes11-15-03, 05:37 PM | "I'm fine, miss...and...I'm sure she didn't brush up on her proper titles, no need for you to take offense to it." Slipping over two platinum coins, Gene smirked. "...Keep th-" One of the most uncomfortable textures one could encounter would be to feel your own rib bone crack back into place. Gene's eye twitches, only briefly, until he looks back at the maiden. "...the change." |
| Leeanthra Windfall11-15-03, 06:11 PM | She smiles to Gene, "Thank you sir. Are you sure you are alright you look like you might be in pain. I wasn't getting upset by it, it was almost funny really." She grins at him then pockets the coins that Gene left on the counter. |
| Gene_Kynes11-15-03, 06:15 PM | "Funny that I'm appearently in pain?" Gene snickers...then simply looks at the woman. "Honest. I like you." He winks, before taking a large gulp of his scotch, looking towards the window. |
| Leeanthra Windfall11-15-03, 06:16 PM | Originally posted by kulideb Diesa held the menu upside down. She had forgotten that in the better Inns the menus were written not spoken. "Emm...a meat and veg soup will be fine." she said hopefully, as it was something that most places serve. She nods to her, "Right away miss." She smiles and goes into the kitchen and pours a bowl of soup. She sticks a spoon in the filled bowl and carefully takes the bowl out to the female dwarf. She sets it down in front of her when she sits at the table with Lord Atlas. She smiles then walks to the back where the kitchen is and another door in the kitchen could be heard opening then closing. She picks up a hammer and sets to work on making something in the back. Loud hammering noises could be heard echoing out in to the front. After working for a few minutes she walks back to the front and looks around at everyone to make sure they were still doing okay. Also to make sure no one else had trotted in without her knowing. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-15-03, 10:44 PM | "Ladysire Gremhar Athakus of Gleamvale, my addopted doughter. From first glance yuo appear indistinguishable from her. Some more subtle facial features do underline the difference, and your voices are different, however. As to my kind's rarity in these lands, indeed, my origin is far to the... rrrrragh, hardly would i know the direction with the methods by which they had me travel hence!" |
| kulideb11-16-03, 09:30 AM | Diesa nodded a thanks as the lady bought her food she then tucked in to it as if she hadnt eaten for days with her mouth full she motioned for the minotaur to carry on. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-16-03, 04:57 PM | The minotaur just leaned against the back of his stool. Either he didn't notice the gesture, or had nothing to add. He glances displeasedly at the elf, pondeirng why she ignored his order. |
| Leeanthra Windfall11-17-03, 02:30 AM | She suddenly remembers Lord Atlas' drink refill, she quickly refills it and walks over to his table. Shakily she sets it down in front of him for fear of his anger that showed in the glance he shot her way. Despite her shaking she managed not to spill a single drop. "Forgive me Lord Atlas my mind wandered." She places a gold coin down in front of him, "I am terribly sorry sir." |
| kulideb11-17-03, 05:22 AM | Diesa wondered if she had done some thing to upset the minotaur. The elf lady bought a drink over for him she seemed quite frightened, may be she knows some thing about him that I dont, thought the dwarf. She dipped her spoon back in to the bowl only to find there was none left, she pushed away the empty bowl and wiped her mouth on the back of her sleeve. She held out her hand. "Me names Diesa. I remind you of your adopted daughter, that must of been hard bringing up a dwarf." |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-18-03, 12:27 AM | The minotaur looks very patiently at the barmaid, conquering hsi irritation, and speaking slowly, emphasizing every second or third word, as if trying to comunicate with a retard. "I asked for a mug of Swirf Quolm for the lady...." Then turns to the dwarf, while completely ignoring the coin, as if he was some sort of a halfogre. "My appologies for this." He sighs, and continues, much more relaxed: "It is hard to bring up any child. The world is a place of hardship and decay. Yet Gremhar was prepared to resist its temptation to join the decay, even before i took her. She grew as an orphan in a monastery. After i took her under my patronage... this can never be easy, yet i belive a common child would cause much greater frustration to his patrons. Gremhar is bright, determined, pure within, and yet so mercyfull that at times i stared in disbelief at her deeds. She is the cause of my greatest pride - she leads the garrison of a comunity subjected to greate and frequent hazards, and shall soon enter its clergy. This will make her the first to ever asume a position of power therein, without submitting to the futile, prtty woman that governs their land." |
| kulideb11-18-03, 04:41 AM | "I wish my father was proud of me." said Diesa sadly. She took a gulp of her drink then looked back at the minotaur. "Would you still have wanted her if she hadnt been so bright, or if she had caused you pain?"She hoped she wasnt being to nosy. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-18-03, 09:10 AM | The minotaur thinks hard for a couple minutes; finally he responds: "I fail to imagine her as less bright. But pain she did cause, and thus i can immagine her causing more. No, i would no withdraw my parentage of her. From the moment i took her, it is as good as any oath to hold her god above my own untill i die, and after that, should Maban allow." |

She sighs, "I will put this place up for sale then, I can't even take orders right. Not only that, one of them thinks I am truely stupid. She sighs and walks to the bar and stands there, waiting like slave for a command, the posting board would have to wait and so would the other sign. |
| kulideb11-19-03, 04:57 AM | Diesa thanked the elf lady and the minotaur. "Sounds like your daughter was very lucky to meet you." She took a gulp of swirf Quolm. "Thats good, I've never tried it before." she pauses, he had told her some thing about himself now she guessed it was her turn. "I'm a big disappointment to my clan, I just bring bad luck." she gave a sad sigh. " The first time I was allowed out on gaurd patrol we came across a band of orcs, we werent even that out numbered but out of the six in the patrol I was the only one to return alive." She looked down at a ring on one of her fingers. "Of course no one blamed me and soon I was out on patrol again. We were to gaurd a caravan of goods going to Silverymoon....but we were waylaid. It was a mixed group and they had a mage, I was knocked out during the first few minutes then when I came round...the wagons were gone...and..the others were all dead. The loss of clan members hit us hard but the loss of income from the caravan made it a harsh winter, kin started to shun me...none wanted me in their patrol." She stared into her mug. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-19-03, 07:23 AM | Atlas laies another coin on the table, moving it towards the elf. He speaks sternly, but without any negative tones, as if he was tutoring a young squire. "It is not. Misdemeanor forgiven." He then turns to th dwarf, and nods with understandiong. "What's commonly spoken of as lack of luck, is truely an opportunity; a gift from Maban. None can succeed at every opportunity, although the desire to do so is admirable." the minotaur sighs and continues, a bit more quietly this time: "Those who died failed no less than you did. But when you fail and live - you learn. Now you know the viciousness of the cowardous warms known as mages... a thrown hammer and a broken rib will thwart most mages, and a simple kncoking off one's feet shall breake his spell. You will know, next time a mage threatens your kin, to strike him down first. An opportunity failed is never an opportunity wasted." He smiles incouragingly. Hardly a pretty sight form a minotaur, but his simple heart seems to make his intention shine through, even when his appearance would make it... less obvious. "Those who make this quolm, the Deep Gnomes, at times lose an entire city, an entire tribe... or whatever theyr equivalent to a tribe is, and yet they return, and frustrate - with theyr persistance alone, if they lack strngth - those of dark soul and vile intention." |
| kulideb11-19-03, 09:18 AM | Diesa looked up from the mug at the minotaurs words, she even found his smile reasuring. "live and learn." she said, "but its hard when others dont allow you to learn, that was one of the reasons I left the clan." She seemed a little brighter but her eyes still seemed sad. "Will you let me buy you a drink?" with that she called the lady elf over and asked for two more swirf Quolms. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-19-03, 01:17 PM | Lord Athakus nods. "Provoking you to leave was the sharpest way to let you learn; Now the world is your teacher, not a single mountain!" |
| kulideb11-20-03, 09:06 AM | "emm..well...I sort of ran away." Diesa looked around for the elf lady. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-20-03, 10:52 PM | "You've done no more nor less than expected by them to do." Atlas shruggs, as if stating the obvious. |
| Leeanthra Windfall11-22-03, 12:37 AM | She had walked off before he had set the coin down, but heard his words and only nodded to them. She sees the dwarven woman looking around, and thinks she might be looking for her. She walks back over to the table with a smile, "Need something miss?" |
| kulideb11-22-03, 05:59 AM | "two more mugs of Swirf Quolms." Said Diesa to the elf. "please." |
