| Sorcen_Anenooata10-08-07, 04:25 PM | The Quest for the Princes of the Universe The mysterious man's voice leaps to sound as though it is four voices at once as he begins to sing "Here we are, born to be kings, " His fingers strum the guitar as his music begins on the word princes. "We're the princes of the universe Here we belong, Fighting to survive in a world with the darkest powers" He pauses his singing to play a back and forth yet fading tune on his guitar for a moment before resuming his song. "And here we are, we're the princes of the universe Here we belong, fighting for survival We've come to be the rulers of your world" He plays his fading tune once again before singing. "I am immortal, I have inside me blood of kings I have no rival, no man can be my equal Take me to the future of your world " His fingers fly across his guitar strings, the noise is strange and seems as though coming from an electronic flock of birds. "Born to be kings, Princes of the universe Fighting and free, got your world in my hand I'm here for your love and I'll make my stand We were born to be princes of the universe No man could understand, my power is in my own hands Oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh Prophecy talks about them, people say they'll save our day They're men that will go far, fly the moon and reach for the stars With my sword and head held high Got to pass the test the first time - yeah I know that people talk about them I hear it every day But I can take you to them in a need of time" The man leaps up from his seat and stands on top of the table now, his fingers blur across his instrument's strings as he plays a fast rift that seems to strain the guitar's structural integrity. During the climax of this guitar solo, he begins to say the following words. "Yeah, Yeah, Alright, Watch this man fly Bring on the wars" As he says the first words he begins to levitate on the table and his guitar seems as though it emits its own light. When he reaches the word wars, his voice has dropped to an amazingly deep rumble that shakes the taverne. He finishes his rift before calming it down and lowering himself back to standing on the table. He sings once more to finish his song. "Here we are, Born to be kings, We're the princes of the universe Here we belong... Born to be kings, Princes of the universe, fighting and free Got the world in my hands I'm here for your love, and I'll make my stand We were born to be princes of the universe " As the song ends, the word universe echoes throughout the tavern at least six times before slowly fading away. The man's guitar and voice have seemed to end abruptly despite the echo. OOC: This thread is intended for the use of myself, Xanaphina, Dragor Shadowfury, and Lunoc to quest for the fabled Princes of the Universe. Anyone else wishing to join in on this quest should PM me and I will be able to adapt my storyline to introduce your character. he premise of this quest is basically that we will adventure on Dricondis' homeworld, Tharsasi, to find the Princes to help save his world from dark forces. IC: The champions from Baator step forth from the portal opened by Dricondis in the Taverne Cycine. The half-elf, Dricondis, emerges last, guitar in hand, and closes the portal behind him. The champions are standing in a town square on a cobblestone street with three large brick buildings and many more wooden smaller ones all around them. The town is not bustling with people but it is by no means a ghost town. After closing the portal, the black clothed half-elf turns back to his companions. "Welcome to Kalanor, my hometown on my homeworld of Tharsasi. Follow me to the Green Gryphon Gravel Inn and we will discuss our first move." Dricondis says as he begins to make his way to a small wooden building tucked away in an alley. |
| dragor_shadowfury10-08-07, 04:33 PM | Ziel follows the elf-blooded in utter silence, and you get the feeling that he is brooding over something. As he passes by some people stop and stare and others flee the scene. It is not every day that you see a three meters high, jet black figure with glowing red eyes and covered in spikes and razors walking around town. |
| Xanaphina10-08-07, 06:33 PM | "lets' rock and roll, folks!" Skymeriac walks purposefully along behind Dricondis |
| lunoc10-08-07, 08:03 PM | cai hovers next to the half elf hmm, this place looks nice i suppose. better than all that metal and fire back home. cai greets the people he sees walking by, although his power is not as evident as zeils, those who look at him feel unnerved, like they are only seeing him out of the corner of their eye. |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-08-07, 09:38 PM | The trio follow the half-elf to the building with the dusty plain sign that reads: The Green Gryphon Gravel Inn As they walk through the doorway of the slightly less dusty and almost rotted wooden door, the companions see the patrons of this inn. Most of them are humans or gnomes, but there are a spattering on many races in this inn. Few dwarves or elves but halfbreeds of all kinds, including strange mixes such as half minotaur/dwarf, half elf/gnome, half wolfman/elf and the other more natural half elves and half orcs, surprisingly there is only one kender in here and he seems to have just walked in. The inside of the inn itself is in fairly poor condition but the patrons seems happy and more than half of them are drunk. Dricondis leads the adventurers to an empty table and motions for them to gather around the table as he sits, considering that Ziel and Cia cant quite sit properly in these rotten chairs. "We wont be long in here, I just thought it best that we have a table so we may plan before we act." He reaches into the inside pockets of his trenchcoat and pulls a sheet of paper from it. He spreads the paper out on the table for the others to see. It is a list of names (that I dont have typed up at the moment), apparently the names of the Princes and they're locations. The half-elf points to a name on the list, "I figured we'd go after Matridonix, the prince of the minotaurs, since he's closest." |
| dragor_shadowfury10-09-07, 03:08 AM | Ziel gazes upon the list. "We should probably head out then." the blue shimmer about Ziel seems to flare up for moment, but it is felt rather than seen. Then you notice that a faint blue haze has appeared over the name of the target prince. |
| Xanaphina10-09-07, 05:12 PM | Skymeriac is paying no heed to anyones words but is staring at a beautiful elf a few seats away and sipping his bear bottle absentmindedly, "wha- oh no, let's not be in such a hurry now..." |
| lunoc10-09-07, 05:25 PM | i suggest we leave at once, give him five minutes in this place and we will be overrun with half gnolls. |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-09-07, 06:23 PM | Dricondis smirks again at Skymeriac's distraction. "And I thought I would be the ladies man of the group. We have the majority vote to be on our way so lets be off." He stands up and heads towards the door, nudging the gnoll with his elbow, "I'll introduce you to her when we get back no worries." The adventurers leave from the town to the east and begin walking a well worn path through the woods. The path seems to get denser but the half-elf ensures them that it will lead to a pasture soon, where there are mounts waiting for them. OOC: These parts of the adventures are a little hard to do, I try not to get too far ahead and dont want to railroad too much but its sort of the boring parts you just want to get out the way and get to the fighting and such. So feel free to post something contradicting my post, somewhat. I can alter my posts if you'd like to backtrack and stay in town and buy something or have your own mounts or whatever you like. Also feel free to have conversations between your characters during these boring parts to liven things up if you like. |
| Xanaphina10-09-07, 06:49 PM | "I'll introduce you to her when we get back no worries." The gnoll looks glum but upon hearing thins he quickly straightens up and follows Dricondis out the door. |
| dragor_shadowfury10-10-07, 02:00 AM | "Well, I for one cannot ride a horse, and a horse cannot carry me either." The blue shimmer around Ziel flares up again like before. When you gaze upon him again, a pair of mithral rings wrap around his legs. "But I should be quite capable of keeping up" |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-10-07, 08:17 AM | The half-elf smirls slyly, "I was waiting for that, who said our mounts were horses." |
| dragor_shadowfury10-10-07, 04:07 PM | "Unless it doesn't mind a clutch of deep wounds in the back or is a whole lot tougher than an adamantine golem, it probably wouldn't be too happy carrying me." |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-11-07, 07:07 PM | Dricondis only smiles as they near the opening from their path through the forest. Dricondis motions for the others to look out the edge of the forest and down the sunlit hill of the open grassland. A large silvery colored dragon rests at the bottom of the hill, watching a herd of wild horses graze. The dragon perks up and raises its long neck to look towards the humanoids staring down at it. As the others take in the image of the magnificient dragon, the half-elf has already begun to make his way down the hill. As they reach the bottom of the hill, and the dragon, Dricondis turns to Ziel, "Get aquinted with the dragon, I'll work on... well something." Without waiting for much of a reply, the half-elf takes off into the forest once again. |
| munchlord10-12-07, 02:30 AM | Ziel looks at the dragon with no signs of expression in his face... with no signs of emotion at all actually. But on the other hand it's had to express much emotion with a face where the only moving part is the lower jaw. He bows to the dragon with more grace than his bulky metal body would suggest that he could have. "My name is Ziel, father of the warforged and soulsmith" |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-12-07, 09:45 AM | The dragon moves its head to head, it seems as though it is made of flowing mercury. Its voice resonates throughout the surrounding hills and its words flow quickly, almost too quickly to understand. "I am Tiijnchinegunn (pronounced ten-sheen-gun), Rising Moon I am called, mercury dragon of the eastern lands. If you like you can shorten my name to Moon or Gun. I have not heard of Warforged, your children must be magnificient by the looks of you." Twigs are heard snapping in the forest where Dricondis disappeared to. |
| Xanaphina10-12-07, 05:07 PM | "Hello Tiijnchinegunn, it is a pleasure to meet you." |
| lunoc10-12-07, 06:58 PM | the wil-o-wisp floats up to the dragon greetings, i am prime council cai, head of the order of the spined star. |
| munchlord10-12-07, 07:25 PM | "I do not know if there are any warforged in this world. If so they are not my children. I have come to know that warforged have developed independently in many worlds." |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-12-07, 11:24 PM | The dragon looks the adventurers over and seems to smile. "It is a pleasure to meet you all." He speaks to Ziel, "I dont believe we have these warforged on our world, Dricondis travels a bit more then I do so he may know better. That is interesting though, that the same species will spontaneously form on seperate worlds. This is perhaps a matter of further discussion and understanding, my breed is not much for such studies though, perhaps my cousins the Electrum dragons.." The dragon is interrupted by Dricondis stepping the bushes carrying some sort of woven harness made of grass and reeds. The half-elf holds the harness up, "Here we are, this should allow Ziel to be carried by Tiijnchinegun. Oh and by the way there are no warforged per say on this world, the gnomes are beginning to make prototypes as of two months ago though." |
| munchlord10-13-07, 03:44 AM | "Wen we are done with finding the princes, I'd like to pay the gnomes a little visit" As Ziel speaks of the gnomes his red eyes glow more intense and you can somehow feel that the visit might have other thought in it than helping the gnomes with their project. |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-13-07, 08:45 AM | Dricondis seems a bit confused, "Sure, actually we may have to head that way at some point during our quest." |
| lunoc10-13-07, 10:43 AM | im unfamiliar with the plants on this planet but...(technobable about zeil) should easily be able to tear through even a large amount of (technobable about plants). how do you plan to compensate for his size and bladed body. cai hovers back and forth wile he speaks |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-13-07, 12:29 PM | "If I am correct, the plant fibers will be torn enough to compensate for the blades but will still be able to form to his body within enough surfae area to withstand his weight and hold him successfully." Dricondis says with a shrug, "Thats the hope at least." |
| Xanaphina10-13-07, 01:06 PM | "i'm cofused," skymeriac says, "I don't know much about plant fibers or any of that scientific crap..." |
| lunoc10-13-07, 05:25 PM | i cannot ride on anything, but i believe i can keep up |
| munchlord10-13-07, 07:43 PM | "I should be able to keep up anyway... One need not wings to fly." |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-14-07, 09:40 AM | Dricondis sticks his tongue out, "Well fine then." The dragon chuckles, "All for the best, I could not be caught dead in such a silly looking harness. All aboard two-leggers, it is time we begin to move." The half-elf motions to Skymeriac to climb onto the mercury dragon, "Skymeriac and I will ride then and you two try and keep up." He says as he climbs ontop the dragon's back. No sooner was the elfblood seated that Tiijnchinegunn flapped his great wings and took to the sky. |
| munchlord10-14-07, 12:14 PM | Ziel set off from the ground as well, moving through it as if he was on a plane with subjective gravity. He keeps up with the dragon just nicely. |
| lunoc10-15-07, 04:18 PM | cai takes off after the dragon at high speed |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-16-07, 12:02 PM | The mercury dragon smiles his toothy grin at Ziel and Cia, "Well done. At this rate then we should be there quickly." The adventuring group flies through the warm midday air smoothly. The ground below changes from the open field to another length of hilly forest and soon to a slight jungle before finally turning into the beach and its great blue-green ocean. The adventurers fly for only about two hours before the islands come into view. Following the dragon they fly over the great oceans and to the islands. The islands are much more tropical then the mainland and have many towns scattered across them, by the looks of it farming communities and plantations. The dragon continues to fly until they reach the next mainland, or what would perhaps appear to be it, at which Tiijnchinegunn lands on the beach of the new continent. He lowers his wing to allow his riders to descend from his back. When Dricondis's feet touch the ground he speaks, "Thank you Gun. Here we are, Theris, the continent of the minotaur. Here is where we will find our first Prince." OOC: Again just hurrying a bit through the boring parts, feel free to speak in between my post and during the flight and such. |
| lunoc10-16-07, 09:14 PM | as they reach the mainland cai speaks to dricondis are there many powerful spellcasters on this planet? and do you know what opposition we will face on this quest? |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-17-07, 01:29 PM | "Magic is plentiful and quite common among most of the peoples of this world but powerful magic is a bit more of a rarity. Likely most of our quest will consist of having to prove ourselves to the Princes, especially the minotaur. Honestly I havent much of an idea of what is in store for us." |
| munchlord10-17-07, 01:45 PM | "If the minotaur of this world resembles those of mine, then it will likely be some feat of strength, probably combat." |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-19-07, 04:18 PM | Dricondis nods in agreement, "Yes physical strength is quite likely. Well lets be off then." The half-elf begins to walk towards the woods line, when Gun speaks up. "Two-leggers, there appears to be a caravan coming this way over the dunes." Dricondis stops and turns to where the dragon is looking. "What can you make out Gun?" "I see two minotaurs driving and what looks like a covered cage on the wagon. It is being pulled by two mules in case you were wondering that as well." Dricondis watches until the caravan comes into view. He looks over his companions, "Knowing minotaurs they will likely address the strongest looking of us first and assume he is leader of our group. I'm not sure which of you two that will be. This excludes the dragon, its a bit too much of a legendary creature to speak to you know." He looks at Ziel and Skymeriac. |
| lunoc10-19-07, 05:23 PM | hmph! brutes, im sure their leader is the one who can swing the biggest stick. |
| munchlord10-19-07, 06:00 PM | "I will prepare for trials of strength then." Following this statement, a few flashes of blue light that is felt by the soul rather than seen emerges from Ziel. When done rings of shiny metal in various colors have appeared up and down his arms and runes that glows blue and black has appeared on his torso. At first it is a bit of a mystery how black runes can be seen on Ziel's jet black "skin", but then you realize that they are even darker. ((may I be allowed to point out that excluding the dragon, Ziel is likely to look strongest... being about 3 meters high and made out of massive black metal... In a quite muscular frame if not over dimensioned.)) |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-19-07, 06:40 PM | OOC: I figured he would look the strongest but I added doubt into the half-elf's words in case the minotaurs see him as being made of metal and that it is not fair because he is not organic. BIC: Dricondis nods and bows as the minotaurs near the adventurers. The bull-men pull their wagon to a stop. The adventurers can now see that the one holding the reigns is a brown minotaur with thick horns and slightly dusty and dirty clothing. The minotaur seated beside him is a bit larger and is black-furred with longer and slightly thinner horns, he wears ornate, clean and shiny armor yet slightly battleworn and he carries a large double edged axe. The black minotaur speaks, a deep and loud grumbling voice, "How is your day Foreigners. I am Kal-Eric, Captain of the 3rd infantry currently acting as guard and duty-bound to this caravan. What is your business on our land if I may ask." He eyes the dragon often and glances at Dricondis's knowledge of their ways, but his main gaze is affixed to Ziel. Dricondis had stayed in his bowed position until the minotaur spoke, to which he then stood himself up and politely listened until the minotaur had spoken. OOC: I'll give someone else a chance to reply to his questions and roleplay, I think I have the bad habit of havin my NPCs take the lead sometimes. |
| munchlord10-19-07, 07:11 PM | Ziel bows his head slightly in salute, as is the common of his people. When addressed, he replies with a firm voice strong and stalwart, yet calm and friendly. "Greetings Captain. I am Ziel, father and king of the warforged of Soulforge and this is my companions, whom I trust are better capable of introducing themselves than I am. We come here seeking the prince of the Minotaur." |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-19-07, 07:57 PM | Kal-Eric's eyes look at each of the warforged's companions but his gaze quickly turns back to Ziel at the mention of the Prince. "The prince of the minotaurs? There are many princes, is there any one in particular that you seek Sir?" OOC: In case you've forgotten, the prince we seek is Matridonix, its up to you though as to how you handle his question. |
| lunoc10-19-07, 08:25 PM | I am cai, the prince we would have an audience with is Matridonix |
| munchlord10-19-07, 08:32 PM | "Many princes of course, of what am I thinking. Our quest is based on a prophecy in which my half elven companion is better versed than me. The prince whom we seek carries the name Matridonix" |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-19-07, 10:02 PM | The minotaur seems stunned when Cai speaks. "Amazing." He shakes his head and gets back to business, "Forgive me for my shock but you travel with a being of light and a dragon and come asking to see our Prince." Dricondis steps forward, "I believe you know which prophecy I speak of... The Princes of the Universe." Kal-Eric nods, "Yes, so it is true then that Matridonix is the true Prince of the minotaurs. It will be my honor to take you to him if you will follow me to our capital." |
| munchlord10-20-07, 04:39 AM | "And it will be our pleasure to follow your lead to the capital captain." With those words, Ziel moves closer to the wagons of the caravan and stands beside them. Again the reason he doesn't enter them is obvious, for he would with all likeliness damage or destroy it. |
| lunoc10-20-07, 12:17 PM | cai floats back to Dricondis and speaks quietly hmm, being of light, the boss might not approve, but i like it. im starting to like your planet elf-blood |
| Xanaphina10-20-07, 05:36 PM | "As am I, the minitaurs seem like nice enough folk" OOC: Sorry i've missed a lot |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-21-07, 09:43 AM | The black minotaur follows Ziel back to the caravan and climbs up the ladder to take his seat. Dricondis nods and whispers back to the will o wisp and the gnoll, "Yes they're a nice and polite people, just so long as you dont anger them." The half-elf winks then turns to walk towards the wagon, "I'm guessing Cai will follow along on.. umm foot, with Ziel and Skymeriac and I will either ride the wagon or the dragon. Which reminds me..." He turns back to look at Tiijnchiengunn, "Will you be coming with us Gun?" The mercury dragon is gone but his place is a human with long black hair and dressed in white clothes. He stretches great silvery wings that still protrude from his back. "Sure I'll go if you like, I prefer to go with my human form for now though but I can carry one passenger if needed." Dricondis looks to Skymeriac for his opinion on where he would like to travel. |
| munchlord10-21-07, 02:08 PM | "I would choose to work as it would be seen as bad behavior among warforged to destroy the property of your host, and I don't think these wagons are designed to carry my weight in such a concentrated area as it would with me aboard... and walking or running requires less energy than manipulating gravity." |
| lunoc10-21-07, 02:20 PM | you know zeil i could simply use a spell to make your size and shape less, um, well, you know. |
| munchlord10-21-07, 04:29 PM | "Difficult, seeing as some of the properties of soulsteel is that it is very hard to manipulate. It took me more than 100 years to create his body." |
| Xanaphina10-22-07, 04:52 PM | "I think i'll stick to the land. But thanks for the offer, Gun." |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-22-07, 07:05 PM | The black minotaur nods to his brown-furred driver and the wagon begins to lurch forward. Dricondis decides to walk alongside the wagon and when the minotaurs arent looking he lifts the canvas covering of the wagon to see what is in the cages beneath it. He nods as if his curiosity is satisfied and turns back to his companions as he walks beside them and beside the wagon. The caravan and the companions follow along the beach a few hundred feet before turning down an almost hidden path into the woods. The forest is thick and somewhat tropical but quickly becomes more deciduous as it gets farther away from the ocean. Tiijnchinegunn meanwhile, walks just behind the adventurers, the trees being too thick to fly in while keeping up with the wagon. |
| munchlord10-23-07, 02:47 AM | Ziel walks beside the wagons through the jungle, the blades on his shoulder and his right arms slicing through branches and leaves as through thin air when the path narrows and the branches reach too far out. |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-26-07, 11:47 AM | The caravan slowly makes its way through the now-dense jungle. They soon come to a muddy place in the road and the brown minotaur stops the wagon, he steps down from the wagon and crouches in front of the mud puddle, seeming to look at tracks. Upon closer inspection, he is looking at feline tracks that seem to have webbed toes. The black minotaur steps from the wagon now as the brown one takes a step back from the tracks. He speaks, a deep and almost whispered voice, "Ahuizotl." Both minotaurs draw their weapons and look around anxiously. Dricondis glances around as well and draws his hidden short sword and taps his guitar on his back, "Be ready for a fight you guys, these beasts live for destruction. I'd play a tune and give you a picture of what to look for but you'll see soon enough and even if he doesnt attack then I can still show you, chances are we wont be that lucky though." The brown furred minotaur climbs back aboard the wagon, large battleworn axe still drawn, and begins to slowly lurch the wagon forward once more as the black minotaur takes the lead and cautiously steps his large hooves into the muck before the mud puddle... |
| munchlord10-26-07, 12:49 PM | The glow in Ziel's eyes grows faint, and one could easily get the impression that he is inattentive. In fact it is the exact opposite that is the truth, for he is focusing on his soulsense, extending the range to find this strange creature that would likely attack them soon. |
| Xanaphina10-26-07, 01:27 PM | Skymeriac slowly draws his shotgun from his back and looks around cautiously |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-26-07, 03:18 PM | As the mules step foot into the puddle, Ziel senses the feline creature. It is too late though as the Ahuizotl leaps from the water on the left side of the road and pounces on the left mule. The creature appears as some sort of panther with slick brown fur, much like an otters, and a prehensile four-fingered tail with each finger ending in a claw. Its teeth are vicious and dripping and its face seems to sport a black mask pattern of fur. http://www.squarecn.com/member/86222/0/1Ahuizotl.jpg The first mule goes down with a bite to the back of its neck and the Ahuizotl leaps into the air and swings by its tail on a low tree branch and soon disappears into the treetops. The beast barely dodged the swing of the black minotaurs greataxe and the mule lay dead and bleeding into the puddle, its spine broken cleanly and its blood expanding the water's edge upon the road. The second mule was spooked and had not the brown minotaur leapt down from his perch to catch the halter of the equine, it would have broken free and bolted to a sure death in the wilderness and taken the wagon into the trees. The low branch the Ahuizotl swung on is left swaying and creaking from the feline's great weight. Kal-Eric re-readies his axe for another swing and takes a defensive stance as he turns his gaze to the canopy, searching for a sign of the creature. The brown minotaur keeps himself ready and watches for the creature as well. He roars in a bestial and clearly angered voice towards the trees where the Ahuizotl disappeared, "RAAWWR, bloody beast." Dricondis stares blankly at how fast the creature attacked and disappeared. Ziel's soulsense picks up that there are multiples of the creature in the pond beside the road, about two of them hidden and waiting for their chance to ambush. He also can sense the creature in the trees, it has not gone very far into the trees, just far enough to be out of sight but still close enough for another attack. Skymeriac can smell the beast in the tree, its scent is similar to a cat but with a hint of wet monkey fur mixed in and something else, something alien. A voice comes from the edge of the pond, a young human child from the sounds of it. "Help me, help me, the swamp cats..." Her voice trails off due to her sobbing. OOC: Sorry for the long post, I got carried away with it. Anyway the Ahuizotl are detailed on page 14 of the Fiend Folio. Fun little creatures, I've been waiting for a chance to use them and I took a few liberties with them (hunting in packs and swinging in trees for instance). And for the record and a hint, Ziel doesnt sense the little girl there. |
| munchlord10-26-07, 03:46 PM | "The first one is in the woods, just out of sight. Two more hide in the pond. I take the lurkers. With those words, Ziel suddenly bursts into movement, showing speed that parallel that of the creatures. He jumps into the pound and lashes out at one of them from the right with his upper left arm. The lower right ready to catch it when it dodges. At the same time he turns his head 180 degrees around, relying on his soulsense to keep an "eye" on the creature he attacks to unleash a pair of red rays from his eyes. Fiery in a way that scorch soul rather than flesh. |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-26-07, 04:27 PM | The creature deftly dodgs the first of Ziel's great fists but is struck by the second fist. The second of the creatures, seeing that his fellow is doomed, flees through the water quickly and leaps from his pond to the treetops, dodging the eye rays during his escape. The mule-killer Ahuizotl pounces from the trees and aims to try and attack the remaining adventurers beside the wagon. Kal-Eric charges to intercept the creature but he is not fast enough. |
| munchlord10-26-07, 05:47 PM | ((The soul scorching rays were headed for the one not targeted by the fists.)) |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-26-07, 06:31 PM | OOC: Sorry bout that, I misread it. Edited. |
| lunoc10-28-07, 10:02 PM | cai becomes enraged how dare you look upon me you filthy protomammal! cai casts a horrific spell that magically rearranges the beasts internal organs, still inside its body (if it works). |
| Xanaphina10-29-07, 05:02 PM | As Cai eviscerates the animal internally, Skymeriac rushes at the creature. He jams the tip of his shotgun into the creatures mouth and and fires, hopefully blowing it's head of. |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-29-07, 06:19 PM | The combined attacks of Cai and Skymeriac successfully slay the 1st of the ahuizotl, the shotgun blast shredding the beast's head and effectively decapitating it as its internal organs, now out of place and almost liquified, ooze from its tattered neck and leak onto the ground beside the puddle. Ziel holds the 2nd of them under his fist and the 3rd has escaped into the treetops. The black minotaur halts his charge and nods his approval before turning to look all around for the third of the beasts. |
| munchlord10-29-07, 06:47 PM | Ziel takes little time to make up his mind. He throws away the ahuizotl in his hands and gives chase to the one who fled. He keeps up pace just fine, monitoring its position with his soulsense. |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-29-07, 07:10 PM | The ahuizotl notices his pursuer and when it is obvious that he cannot outrun the machineman, the beast comes to a halt on a branch and cowers in a posture of peace. Surprisingly the beast speaks in the common tongue in a nearly human voice but decidedly more feline and alien, "Please, man of metal, we only meant our attack as a hunt for food." The thrown ahuizotl lands easily on its feet and, although severely weakened, the creature shakes its head and turns quickly towards the adventurers and snarls at them. |
| Xanaphina10-29-07, 09:44 PM | "Shoo, beastie." Skymeriac snarls then growls just as ferociusly as the creature. he drops the shotgun and begins to draw his uzi's from his waist threateningly. |
| munchlord10-30-07, 03:38 AM | Ziel stops and watches the creature. "Understandable, but it we have pressing business, so It would be to the benefit of both of us if you and your brethren would leave us alone and hunt prey that is not a part of a caravan." |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-30-07, 01:24 PM | The snarling ahuizotl glances at the guns and hears the roar of the ferocious gnoll. These threats are enough to make the beast think twice about attacking the adventurers and it dives back into its pond. The negoiating creature bows its head in submission to Ziel, "Understood metal-man, we will not attack caravans again." As the ahuizotl go into retreat, the brown minotaur climbs back aboard his wagon and waits for Kal-Eric's decision. |
| munchlord10-30-07, 05:08 PM | "very well then, I shall leave you alone." Ziel peacefully returns to the caravan. |
| Sorcen_Anenooata10-30-07, 07:07 PM | As Ziel reaches the caravan the black minotaur nods his apporval, "You surely are a great warrior." Kal-Eric walks in front of the wagon as it lurches forward once again through the puddle, this time pulled only by one mule, the dead mule left on the side of the road and unhooked from its harness byt he brown unnamed minotaur. Dricondis and Tiijnchinegunn follow along beside the caravan. |
| munchlord10-30-07, 07:56 PM | "I thank you. My skills in combat have been tested by hundreds of years of war, both as field warrior, officer and king." Ziel nods at the minotaur. |
| Sorcen_Anenooata11-01-07, 10:22 AM | Kal-Eric smiles and walks motions for Ziel to walk beside him in front of the caravan. "I too have worked for my station as captain of the 3rd infantry. I started as a farmchild and left to be in the military when I was nearly an adult then I was a footsoldier and competed in the gladiator matches for fun until my fame there got me promoted to captain. I was handpicked to guard this caravan and I'm quite glad to have help." The forest becomes decidious once again with tall oaks and maples rising into the sky. The adventurers finally see sunlight beaming in from what appears to be a clearing ahead, lucky too for the adventurers as the day's light is disappearing fast. A village is just ahead and the caravan is almost there as the sunlight disappears completely behind the distant mountains. |
| munchlord11-01-07, 12:05 PM | Ziel joins in conversation with the captain as they make their way through the forest. "I for one was the first of my kind, although I looked different back then. I worked as a servant and guard of my inventor for a long time. Then came a war to my homeland and many of my kind were created to serve in the ranks of the military. When we began to gain freedom from the spells that kept us under complete control, the king became worried and ordered the extinction of my people. Only I and my friend Karlgarth escaped alive. We fled to the mountains far from human lands and made a new kingdom for the warforged. He was a smith and took care of the making of the bodies of the new warforged while I shaped their souls. I was chosen for king and our nation grew swiftly. Eventually we clashed with both humans, greenskin and the like. I have spent a total of more then a hundred years locked in battle." |
| Sorcen_Anenooata11-01-07, 12:48 PM | Kal-Eric seems impressed, "You have lived a full life friend. I only wish that my journey through this world will bring me to such strength as you have. My people too have warred with humans and the other races. We have won our wars with the humans of this land and they do not inhabit our great island since our battles. The elves still live here but the land needs the elves just as the elves need the land, the two are inseperable and the pointy ears keep to themselves anyway." |
| munchlord11-01-07, 02:37 PM | "A full life, in fact I have lived many lives. As I said, I'm a soulsmith, and the most experienced and wise of the soulsmiths can move their own soul to another body without an inhabitant soul. I have gazed upon both peace and war from many a set of eyes. But what have kept me alive and well for all those years have been a strong will, not a strong arm captain, remember that. Determination breeds victory" |
| Sorcen_Anenooata11-01-07, 05:13 PM | "I thank you for that wisdom King Ziel. It is the way of my people to follow the strong of arm more then the strong of will so perhaps my decision is biased. I have noticed that the humans have strong wills more then strength of arms, perhaps this is why they are so tenacious and rebellious and so hard to tame. We minotaurs are known for our stubborness but I will admit the humans seem to outdo us there and yet they accept change so easily in the same sentence. Such strange creatures they are, harder to kill then they look as well." He chuckles slightly at this remark. "I do appreciate your wisdom though and I will remember them and try to follow your words." |
| munchlord11-01-07, 05:43 PM | "Strength of will will grant you strength of arm when you really need it. For the humans I can only say that they are by no means flawless, although they tend to think of themselves as superior to all. For the ways of your race, it is by no means bad, for strength of arm is a valuable asset, as long as it do not take care of the thinking. Speaking of the latter, you have shown yourself to be smarter than most minotaurs of my home world by accepting advise." |
| Sorcen_Anenooata11-01-07, 07:26 PM | "I thank you for the compliment. The humans do have flaws but they are more... well lets say versatile then they think. We minotaurs of Theris have savage cousins on our southwest coast in the winterlands. I believe we are the more philosophical and civilized since we are of the east near our equator, food is easier here and our predators more easily kept at bay. The food is scarce in the winterlands and our cousins there must battle great monsters regularly." OOC: This continent is in the southern hemisphere in case you didnt catch that. This minotaur's theory is that the beasts in the lands with ice and snow need to grow larger to conserve heat so the minotaurs there grow larger and more savage due to having to hunt and gather for food and due to fighting giant monsters daily. Whereas in the area they live it is near the equator but far enough away that they are in a mild climate that is almost jungle but mostly deciduous. In the eastern region they are able to get many foods readily from the jungle and they dont have to fight as much and so they have more time for thought and contemplation. |
| lunoc11-04-07, 03:46 PM | good shot gnoll, i think you blew his stomach out. what world are you from? on most worlds, gnolls dont have balistics. cai uses a simple spell to alow only skymeriac to hear what he says next keep an eye on the warforged, i dont trust him. |
| munchlord11-04-07, 04:11 PM | ((may I be allowed to ask why cai don't trust him?)) |
| Xanaphina11-04-07, 05:18 PM | "my world didn't have any modern technology like these" Skymeriac begins to say, indicating his uzi "But then my world was attacked by vampires, a vampire hunter who was trailing the army saw potential in me. he took me away to another dimension where I learned about vampire hunting and guns. I don't see anything wrong with the warforged, but you would know better than me with your spells and stuff... I will watch my back." the gnoll says this last part in a whisper. |
| Sorcen_Anenooata11-06-07, 02:49 PM | The caravan begins to exit the forest, the small village is visible at the bottom of the hill. They descend the hill and enter the village. The village has one main poorly tended stone road with small roads branching off to lead to each of the houses. The houses have well-tended grass covered yards behind them and some have toolsheds and fences and such things that are sure signs of civilization. "Well we're at a good stopping place for the night. We'll settle down here for a ngiht and get a room and supplies. You are welcome to stay with us for the night and we will get to the Prince's station tomorrow about midday. I will introduce you to him and then I will have to be on my way to take this caravan safely to its destination." Kal-Eric says to the group as the brown minotaur climbs from his perch and begins to speak with the owners of an Inn directly beside where he stopped his wagon. |
| Xanaphina11-06-07, 05:18 PM | "I'm off to find me a good melee weapon... and probably some beer too..." the gnoll darts off and is lost in the crowd before anyone can say anything. |
| lunoc11-21-07, 02:36 PM | ooc: cai feels a little unnerved by magically/physically powerful warforged :ooc i will need a private room...i need to, um, do some studying. later (about 11:00-12:00) cai can be heard talking in his room and a rancid stench drifts out of his door the spell works of course it does, so what about this world? i have this new experiment that needs food you disgust me, just leave your goods and go. |
| munchlord11-21-07, 04:19 PM | Ziel nods at Kal-Eric before leaving into the crowd. He seeks out a bit of solitude to focus his mind on the flow of incarnum and see how things are going in his realm in Soulforge. |
| Sorcen_Anenooata11-21-07, 07:43 PM | Dricondis fixes his hair and his outfit until hes satisfied, "Well I'm off to play some music and earn a bit of cash hopefully, if not then maybe a woman for the night." He winks and saunters off in a cool and suave manner. Kal-Eric shakes his head at the elfblood and goes inside the inn to get the rooms while the brown minotaur tends to the wagon and unhitches the mule for feeding and watering. Dricondis finds a suitable tavern and walks in and does his routine to make himself seem cool before beginning to play his music. |
| lunoc12-08-07, 03:36 PM | ooc: bump. untill sorcen gets back here. |
| Sorcen_Anenooata12-09-07, 10:07 AM | OOC: Sorry I got a bit lost in the other threads and was waiting for other replies in here. BIC: The morning comes with the rising red sun. The brown minotaur is already awake and readying the caravan when the black minotaur wakes up and begins to rouse the adventurers. Kal-Eric is heard stepping heavily down the hallway before his heavy hand knocks on the heavy wooden door to Cai's room. "Sir Cai, we're almost ready to leave. Meet us outside when you're ready." |
| munchlord12-10-07, 03:31 AM | Ziel is early on the spot as well, and he folds the blades and razors on his hands into themselves so that he can help the brown minotaur prepare the caravan. |
| lunoc12-15-07, 07:08 PM | cai heads down to the bar, buys several bottles of alcohol and waits outside, one of the bottles ocationaly tipping toward him |
| Sorcen_Anenooata12-15-07, 10:48 PM | The brown minotaur nods a thanks to Ziel for his help as they finish. He climbs to the driving seat atop the wagon and waits. Kal-Eric tightens his armor's straps leans against the wagon to wait. Dricondis suddenly appears behind the wagon and leans against the wagon beside the black minotaur. He is heavily cloaked and has his hood pulled over his face. "What are you hiding for elf?" Kal-Eric asks suspiciously. The elf stammers a reply, "Who.. me... Oh no..nothing." |
