Any questions/concerns/comments about Dust can be posted here. If you want to run a big plot in it, please let people know here so that they can get involved.

Just so people know, anyone can gain access to Dust. They just have to plane shift there, and select one of the Altars as their destination. Average citizens on dust are moderately powerful, and the guardians are there to take care of anyone making trouble. And don't forget, there's a Divine Rank 16 Dust Lord watching the place.

I like, I like! I can already see a big adventure going into the desert in search of some lost civilization, thousands of years old...

I have one question, though: Is there any easy way to travel between the Altars? I mean, what if everyone ends up at a seperate Altar? Kinda hard to be in a party that way.

Ah, good point. Let me answer that in two parts. First of all, if you are holding hands, connected, etc, to each other when you plane shift, then everyone will go through the same portal. That way, you'll all arrive at the same place. So, if you're in a single party, you can all stick together. But other than that, it's very possible that you could end up randomly at a different Altar than the one your were aiming for. It's intentionally difficult to travel between altars, and I don't think I want to change that. A visitor to the plane would be well advised to bring some way of casting Phantom Mount, Overland Flight, or some such equivalent spell, if they have a specific destination in mind. Since many of the people who come here are wanderers or adventure seekers, they don't tend to care where they end up. Corpses abound between all the Altars, and where there are corpses, there's loot. So wherever you are, there's something to do.

I origonally wanted to post this on saturday, but it looks like the boards crashed (rather thuroughly) and I wasn unable to do so until now.

A few questions, you mention that magic works differently in the realm of Dust, I would like to know how. For example, my character has spells (of course) but also has numerous supernatural abilities. Nothing short of a dead magic zone should affect them, but I want to make sure. As for my second question, one of Sapphira's constant supernatural abilities is Ture Seeing, so she is not fooled my illusions are alternate forms (unless sspecified, such as the ghaele eladrin, where it says both forms are isible under true seeing.) I kinda need to know these particulars before I continue posting, that way I can know if something is going to work or not and RP accordingly.

MysticTheurge, thanks for the questions. I'll be sure to update the plane description to include these answers.

Permanent magic affects are not altered on Dust, they function normally.

Supernatural abilities also function normally. Spell-like abilities which replicate divine spells, however, are subject to the restrictions which apply to regular divine spells.

The point about divination magic has now been updated. Emanations such as detect magic, true seeing, etc, now function normally across the whole plane. Although a divine spellcaster using these abilties would still be subject to the Spellcraft check.

Forgive me for seeming obtuse but where can I find this decription of the plane? What sort of spellcraft DC are we looking at here? Thanks in advance (if the boards can stay up for 5 minutes.)

The plane's description is the first post in the Dust thread. The spellcraft DC is standard for impeded magic planes: 20 + spell level. Failure means the spell is lost, success means it is cast normally.

ok, so now that I've got that straight, I'll go ahead and post. Looks like the only spells she can possibly fail to cast ore her 9th level... hope nobody dies.
