Thanks. For background information and OOC details, see the SAVING GILEAD MINOR OOC SETUP thread.)) Chilled air slid over the quiet open-markets of the subcapital of Gilead; a thriving city where legends seemed to birth, all races passed, and an underground thieve's guild strengthened to obscene numbers. Set just north of vast grasslands on a continent engulfed in danger and undiscovered adventure, Gilead dripped of attraction to the humanoid curiosity. But on this day, something of perhaps less stature physically, made itself known. As early dawn set in, and cast it's shadow upon the multitude of nooks and crannies which made up the great secondary kingdom of the Blackpaw Clan in Gilead fair, it's king slowly rolled out of his bed of robin feathers and reached for his crown. A portly sight by mouse standards, Rupert Blackpaw looked the part of a grand seat. His fur splotched with brown, tan, grey, black and white-all four paws up to the first joint, completely black. A delicately crafted crown of crimson and copper rested on his head, his ears drooping from the weight somewhat. Finely crafted tunic and matching pants of crimson garbed this 6 inch tall mouse. As he dressed himself for the day to come, a single warrior threw open the doors to his chambers, gasping as he dropped to his knees in the most desperate of attempts to appear respectful through the obvious terror and worry upon his rugged features. "What is it, Lychor?" The king asked as he shifted out from the changing curtain, his sceptor in paw. The warrior coughed, wiping blood from the side of his mouth with the back of an already stained paw before choking out his response in haste. "Furred evil, my lord. They've come with the fair two-leggers. Two dozen by the scouts, my lord..." The warrior pauses for a breath, seeming choked up. "And of the perimeters? Dispatch the basic guard posts, you know the formations, surely Lychor. Why such haste?" Rupert moves forward, making his way in a sort of waddle to the lowered warrior. Scrutinizing the slashlike wounds across the mouse's face. "All of the scout have fallen, my Lord. All of them. The basic guards are in combat right now. They've..they've breeched the perimeter my Lord, I must get you and the princess's to safety. We haven't much time, my Lord". The warrior stands, as he finishes his words. The king holds up his unoccupied paw in pause, trying to take it all in, his dimeanor calm. "What do you mean they've breeched the perimeters? Abandon the throne? I shall not!" He turns and waddles into another smaller chamber, leaving the small door open. The warrior persists, moving back to the main entrance of the king's chamber, saying "My Lord, if you stay you will die! Please, take to the lower paths, and move to safe---AGH?!" The king's ears twitch, his crown dropping off to the floor with a soft sound as he drops the sceptor and reaches for the sword hanging on the wall of the smaller chamber. Quickly he runs out of the room, sword at the ready. Skidding to a sudden halt just outside the doorway, as his eyes lay upon Lychor; slumped in the main entrance on all fours, trying to lift himself from the quickly forming pool of blood underneath him. "What in all the stars?! LYCHOR!" The king charges, offering an almost mad battle cry as a large blood matted white paw slashes down onto the wounded warrior. The gruesome sound of cracking bones ringing in the King's ears, the warrior skewered upon extending claws, and dragged out the mouse hole door before the king even gets in striking range. Not being a fool, Rupert paused, and hid behind the door of his chambers, using a monicle from his wardrobe to peer around the corner outward. . o O (The furred evil have returned...i pray to Master Etukey that they do not succeed this time.) With a burst of speed, the King darted out of the mouse hole door of his chamber. His golden sword held in both forepaws at the ready, he bolted toward a nearby bunker in the crook of a wooden walkway. With a dive, he reached safety, and quickly righted himself, to further survey the situation. Peering out over the alley which the secondary kingdom called home, his breath was nearly taken from his lungs in an instant. . o O(What have they..done?? ) As the king looked, several elven cats of white and cream padded down the alley's entrances. Their paws and heads matted in drying blood, a pile of mice bodies that were once a fine group of scouts, lay just to the side of these animals. Two larger looking elven cats of somewhat longer fur sat some distance away, meticulously skinning still more carcuses. Most of the basic guard falling to such horrid consequence. The king gazed around his suffering kingdom, his beaded eyes widened and shock rutting his aged features. A few moments later, a most gruesome shriek of death flew through the winds in the back of the alley. The voice, not of rodent kind. Not thirty seconds later, a younger looking elven cat bolted through the middle of the alleyway, leaving a trail of it's own blood behind. Tail missing. The king looked quickly, startled out of his shock for the moment. A young black and white furred female mouse with black paws ran soon after the fleeing cat. Blood staining much of her fur, and the pink ribbon upon her head. Holding her coated sword at the ready, she ran onward. The king just about fell over, and subtly..yet loudly, hollered "Trink what in Etukey's name are you doing?! Get over here!!" The girl skidded to a halt, looking around for only a short while before she spotted her father in the old bunker. She darted over and jumped in swiftly. In a somewhat panted voice "What Father?! I'm protecting the kingdom. What do you think i'm doing??" "There are more than a dozen of them to your one, child. You must go at once, and seek help! The kingdom is under seige, go to the oak tree and speak with the Redchest Chief. Fly through the portal that the fair two-leggers arrived from, and do not return lest it be with an army child!" The King obviously seemed of worry, his words commands, not suggestions. The girl looked at him stunned for a moment, but did not question her Father's orders. Quickly looking to make sure it was safe, she scurried out from the bunker, and made her way to the great white oak that grew in the market garden. Panting heavily, she sheathed her still bloodied sword, and scurried up the tree, losing footing several times, but eventually making her way to a large knotted hole, scampering inside. The King watched his youngest daughter leave, before slipping out the hidden passageway in the bunker, making his way in haste down many long corridors, heading for the Royal Court Chamber. Bursting into the stale room, the King ordered in a severe tone "Gather all the Royal Court, we are under siege and must plan out our methods to hold our ground until allies respond!!" Several dozen political looking mice of various color and shape scurried quickly about in all directions, shrill bells ringing: the prelude to a declaration of war. |
| Shilend_Sharpwhisker01-10-05, 08:08 PM | In the shadows, an unseen figure watched Trink as she fled thru the portal at her father's command. Glancing about, the shadowy shape slinked by, invisible to even his kin as they skinned the fallen mice. In total silence, he followed her into the gate and consequently, into the land beyond. Moving with a speed that no other elven cat could match, Shilend leapt into hiding in the same instant he stepped thru the portal. It was obviously a place of meeting, of food and drink and socializing for the two-leggers. Paying them no heed however, his eyes watched unwavering, the dimuntive form of Princess Trink. Watching with the patience that had been drummed into his skull during his training as High Assassin and lead spy of the invading feline armies, he saw her as she met up with such a scamp of a mouse. He had never seen such a sight. As he peered onward, taking the whole exchange in, he learned that this male's name was Faldor Longtail...and that he had pledged to do all he could to aid Trink and the Blackpaw nation in their war....With the same speed he had arrived, Shilend slipped back thru the portal to Gilead and raced immedietly to his master's side. "Shilend reporting, m'Lady. I have followed the female who slipped past our fighters thru the portal. She has acquired the aid of a mouse, some sort of warrior of their kind. I await further orders." he said, always respectful as a propper soldier is to their betters. The leader's nose twitched at the news, turning to face the High Assassin. "Make your way back thru the portal to this land. Reveal yourself to this..Faldor. Befriend him if you can, gain his trust. Gather what information you may and report back to me. Now go!, Do what you were trained for." was the command, a command that Shilend would do everything within his power not to fail. Without a reply, he disappeared back into the dancing shadows and vanished back thru the portal to Oerth. |
| Faldor Longtail01-11-05, 09:55 PM | Faldor sat scribbling away within his tiny book, about his days interactions with the Two Footer, ink smudges coating his tan furred paws. This book had been his constant companion in his ongoing study of the Two Footer. He leaned back against a large mug of ale, this his usual sea a the Two Footer tavern the Crossroads. He paused briefly from his study to sip some from his diminutive thimble. He started back to his writing when a motion near the doorway caught his eye. He squinted trying to take in what the source of the motion might be. Meanwhile Trink's tiny form squeezed underneath the imposing door frame of the Two Footer tavern. Her black paw's stille matted from with blood from the violence of today. Her pink bow still intact, but pushed to the side. Faldor's vision finally gave him full perspective of what was happening, his mouth dropped open as he saw the disheveled sight of Trink. He leaped up and scurried over to Trink, as fast as his tiny footpaws could carry him. He reached down to the entrapped Trink. Trink's attention was drawn to her pant's leg, that seemed to have caught on the corner of a floorboard. She had yet to see the tiny form of the mouse standing over her. Trink let out a shrill squeak when she felt Faldor's paw grasp her shoulders. Reacting instinctively , her matted paws reached and drew her tiny sword, she lashed out at her perceived attacker. Faldor's eyes grew wide, he was taken totally by suprise by the powerful and speedy attack. All he could do was cringe as the tiny sword hit its mark, its aim as true as a marksmans. Trink's tiny but effective sword cut a slash across Faldor's chest, it cut through the tunic he wore as if it were paper. The sound of metal meeting metal rang out through the tavern. Luckily Faldor had befriended several Bearded Two Footers, in payment for the help he had provided in their adventure together, he had received a tiny coat of mithril mail from them.Trink's sword would have cut true that day , but the mithril stopped the sword from injuring him. Trink quickly freed herself and she leaped up on her footpaws with a warriors grace and speed. She drew her sword back to follow up with a finishing blow. Her body shaking with rage. Faldor took a step backward, his paws fumbling for the hilt of his sword. Trink finally let out a gasp as she realized what had just played out. She dropped her bloodied sword to the ground. It's meeting with the floorboard set a ringing noise that filled the tavern. Trink reached for Faldor "Oh by Etukey's grace are you alright?" Faldor eased his grasp on his sword and looked down to his torn tunic. "Aye m'lady. Aye. Though the question should be are you alright. My apologies, but you appear to have been through worse than I have." Trink looked herself up and down finally righting her pink bow. She blushed embarassed. Faldor smiled and bowed "M'lady I am Faldor, Faldor of the Longtail clan scribe and historian at your service." Trink watched studying the form of Faldor. She smiled and straightened herself and her clothing. "I am Trinkette, Trinkette of the Blackpaw clan. Princess of the Kingdom of Gilead." Faldor blinked in suprise. He quickly dropped to one knee bowing his head "Oh by my whiskers, my apologies your highness I meant no disrespect." Trink covered her mouth trying to stiffle her laughter. "Stand up you are embarassing me." Faldor stood and quickly looked back and forth, he caught glimpse of a table nearby. Both mice stood with their hands out bracing themselves as the footfalls of a large Two Footer could suddenly be felt. Faldor smiled and pointed to the nearby table "M'lady I do believe we need to move from this doorway, it seems a Two Footer is approaching and we surely will be crushed if we stay much longer." Faldor led Trink to the nearby table, they both climbed and rested themselve on the edge of the table. They let their tiny legs dangle over the edge. After a brief moment of silence Faldor looked over to Trink "m'lady you seem to have been through some sort of adventure. Are you alright? Are you wounded?" Faldor looked her her bloodied paws. Trink abit worn and tired from the excitement, struggled as she held back tears. "My people...the Furred evil...there were too many " Trink lowered her head and placed her face in between both paws sobbing uncontrollably. Faldor stood and walked closer, he removed a tiny piece of cloth from one of the many pouches attached to his person. He reached down and dabbed at her tears, with his other paw he lifted to her chin "It is alright princess, it is alright. You are safe here. I shall not let anything happen to you." Faldor studied her face for the first time. Something uncontrollable began welling up inside him. Even in her obvious disarray she was quite striking and his heart began to race. Faldor watched comforting Trink until her crying ceased. Both Faldor and Trink sat in quiet for several long moments before Faldor spoke "Princess what has happened?" Trink took a long deep breathe and went through her horrifying tale. Faldor's eyes squinting as rage grew within him. Finally Trink finshed her sad tale and looked to Faldor for any tiype of response. Faldor suddenly stood and withdrew his sword. The sword was a beautifully crafted sword, an heirloom for centuries amongst the Longtail clan. He grasped the hilt and planted it firmly within the tabletop. He dropped to one knee and placed his forehead to the jeweled hilt. "As a member of the Brothern and a Free Mouse of Falnik, I swear my sword and all that I hold dear to your cause. By my life or death your kingdom shall be made safe again." Trink in her joy tackled him embracing him in a hug. "Oh thank you...oh thank Etukey!" Far off and unseen to the two mice, the slited watchful eyes of Shilend watched their conversation. With grace and spped he darted off reporting what he had seen. |
| JonVieve_Blackpaw01-13-05, 02:45 PM | "I care not, spirit! Be gone from my sight!" the tiny witch commanded the ghost. Though in truth, she did care..very much as a matter of fact. The spirits of the slaughtered mice had not left her alone since the first appearance of the feline menace in Gilead. They came to her each day without fail, though she did not summon them to her...they came, begging and pleading her to intervene and come to the aid of her half-brother, King Rupert. Yet she did not leave the graveyard that she had made her home. She did not hurry to the side of her kin...she did nothing. Since Rupert and the other royals of the Blackpaw clan had heard of her dabblings in witch-craft she had been dead to their eyes. Thrown from the clan, stripped of the rights she had fair claim to thru their shared blood, she had fled here. Here in the cemetary of Gilead, she had came to find peace. The spirits of the dead had not judged her, indeed! They had welcomed her and taught her, tutoring her in the shaman arts. That is, until now. They would not let her be for a moment now, emploring her to turn her powers to hold back the furred evil each and every moment. It pained her to do so, but she dismissed each ghost as they came, sending on their way with the same answer. She would not assist Rupert. The elven cats would not dare enter her territory. Here in the hallowed ground of the graves, she was safe. The spirits would not allow harm to befall her as long as she remained behind these black iron gates. But still...it pained her...it wounded her soul greatly..for many of the spirits of murdered mice...many of them once had been her friends...and some...even her family... |
| melynxt01-14-05, 10:52 AM | Rupert looked over the tiny table at his council, with a worry upon his aged features. "I want you all to take to the inner dwellings, and we shall hold our ground, until such time as Trinkette returns." The king stated, meeting each of the council's gaze as he looked. Several members spoke out in protest, scoffing at the king's reliance of the child. He stood then, and nodded. "I know we can not fend them alone. And you all know what must be done. I will return before dawn's light, tomorrow. Move swiftly in your tasks, and may Etukey's grace remain upon you all." Rupert's words rang out in the now silenced awe and shock apparent. The council members all knew exactly what he spoke of. He would seek out his half-sister..their minds raced as they went about the tasks quickly. None of the council wished to see Her again... Rupert nodded, and dismissed the meeting. Quickly he took to a scurry, darting out a door and slipping into an unknown but to himself passage tunnel; his destination...Kylnne Graveyard. |
| JonVieve_Blackpaw01-15-05, 09:26 AM | She worked quietly and quickly, with a practiced grace. Moving with the speed inherent to her kind, she rushed back and forth from shelves to cauldron, mixing her brews. It was quite a simple concoction, one she had blended countless times before, but never with the urgency she now showed. Since the last visit from the spirits of slaughtered mice...she had come to a decision. Whether Rupert wishes my aid or not, he will have it. I cannot stand idle and let my kin be murdered while I remain safe and secure behind the cemetary gates....I can bear the spirits' pleas no longer... she thought, just as she heard a noise from the sealed passage in the crypt she had made her home. Her staff was in her hands in an instant, ready for whatever may emerge. A sigh of reliefe and some surprise escaped her mouth as she saw just who had come to her. "Rupert?!" she exclaimed "What in all hells are you doing here?!" she exclaimed, though she already knew the answer. |
| melynxt01-19-05, 04:00 PM | Rupert skidded to a halt as he came before his half sister. Lowering his head in the faintest of bows, he spoke quickly with shortened breath. "The furred evil have returned, and there is no time to speak to such lengths, JonVieve. On behalf of the council, I beg of you to assist in the defence of the Blackpaw Kingdom until Trinkette returns with such allies." He pants for breath as he leans on a nearby wall jam, looking to her, as if expecting to be screamed at. His ears flattened. **Elsewhere** Trink and Faldor soon came to find many that wished to assist their efforts. Slowly a plan formed, and troops of all species began to take to the ranks. On this such day at hand, it was decided for Trinkette and Faldor that in order to beat the magically inclined beasts, they must take to some knowledge and harness magicks themselves. Early that morning, Trink met up with Faldor at the base of a fountain in Juxtaposition's markets. Their goal: To retrieve the items needed to begin learning their magic lessons. Trink looked at Faldor, smiling softly as she reread the list outloud to him. 1. Grimoires, quantity two 2. quills and ink wells, quantity two 3. casting wand, quantity two 4. (various tid bits of spell components listed here), quantiy two She smiled at him as they took to a scurry down the markets, heading for a vendor that had before assisted Trinkette in items of their stature. "He should be not far off, now Sir Faldor...what have you brought to barter with?" Trink said as they continued, waiting his response. |
| Faldor Longtail01-20-05, 11:13 PM | Faldor smiled over to Trink. He pattered along keeping in step with Trink. His tail swishing behind him anxiously. He stopped and stroked his whiskers as he thinks. He finally looked to Trink and said nervously, obviously having forgotten about the use of coins by the Two Footer. Hmmmm, I didn't bring any of those coins the Two Footers use, they are far too heavy. I do have a large amount of buttons the Two Footers of this place have left behind. It is quite amazing what the Two footer leaves behind. Do you believe they will except these buttons I am carrying? Faldor held out a circular button. It had four holes in the center, obviously where it would be attached to clothing. It gleamed brightly in the sunlight, a rainbow of colors dancing off its golden coat. |
| JonVieve_Blackpaw01-21-05, 10:14 AM | Scowling, she relaxed her grip on the staff, holding it lightly in her right hand. "You silly old fool. I never expected you to come personally." she said, walking over to a steaming cauldron that hung over one of the many small fires she had in her small lab. Snatching a long-handled spoon from a hook on the wall she dipped it into the bubbling ointment, stirring as she spoke over her shoulder. "You know I'll help you. My brews are almost ready...Sit and rest a few moments while I bottle them up." About a half hour later she had two cases filled with vials and potion bottles, carefully packaged to prevent breaking. Picking up one of the boxes, she walked to Rupert, holding a bottle in her hands. "Stand still now." she said, pouring a bit of the ointment into her paw. Reaching out to him she rubbed it into his fur, covering his body with the stuff. "Grab the other case and follow me. Our kin are dying by the dozens.." she said sadly, the knowledge of every death shown clearly in her eyes. Quickly, she rubbed some of the same ointment over herself and stepped outside into the cool air. Being sure to keep a good grip on the case of potions, her staff strapped securing to her back, she rose into the air...the power of her flying ointment lifting her easily. She hovered there for a moment, waiting for Rupert to join her. |
| Shilend_Sharpwhisker01-21-05, 10:25 AM | It was a simple task to remain hidden from the pair as they wandered thru the marketplace. Shilend darted from shadow to shadow, as there was such an abundance in a place such as this. Not even the two-leggers saw his movements. He watched, and listened intently with his sensitive hearing. It took a few moments to focus in on the words of the two mice, but soon he heard them clearly over the noise of the crowd. 1. Grimoires, quantity two 2. quills and ink wells, quantity two 3. casting wand, quantity two 4. (various tid bits of spell components listed here), quantiy two He heard the female as she listed off the items to Faldor. Ah..so they seek magic to aid them against us. This will not be welcome news for the boss...no..she will certainly not like this... he thought grimly, sure that he would be scolded for not doing something to disrupt their plans. Nodding to himself, he sped up to get ahead of the duo, still concealing himself in the abundance of shadows cast by the booths and overhangs. He waited, watching for them to get close enough...When Faldor was within several feet of him, he cast a small, simple spell...one of his favorites. If his plan was successful, it would cause the male mouse to trip over himself and hopefully lose whatever it was he planned to make the purchases with...I hope this works....I can't face them directly, I can't blow my cover...but maybe...I can slow their plans down a bit with my cantrip... he thought as he cast his magic. |
| Faldor Longtail01-22-05, 05:27 PM | Faldor walked next to Trink his tiny footfalls echoing against the cobblestone walkway. He proudly carried the tiny button, it carefully tucked underneath his arm. He talked freely unaware of the danger before him. From your description of the Furred evil Trink they sound as if..............whoooaaaaaaaa! Faldor suddenly lost his footing, having no choice but to brace himself with his paws he tosses the button out in front of him. The button bounces twice and begins a perilous journey, rolling toward an open drainage duct near the fountain in the marketplace . Faldor watches in horror as the button plummets down the duct. He quickly stands his knees and elbows scrapped and bloodied. He patters quickly over to the drain in a vain attempt to grab the falling button, but to no avail. Cat's teeth, of all the dreaded luck. Faldor rambles through a series of curses. He looks down the drain ,a glint of light catching the golden button,. Faldor smiles as he realizes one of the tiny mice could squeeze through the grated entrance and be lowered to the button. The button sat precariously on a tiny ledge, the sound of roaring water could be heard through the grate. Faldor quickly removed a spool of thread from his pack and began tying it around his waist. Trink , now I am going to squeeze through the grate and get that button back. Darn fool that I am. Just tie the thread to the grating and I can lower myself. Faldor squeezes through the hole to the grating, near the fountain. He begins lowering himself. The thread carefully tied to a metal rung in the grating. He lowered himself with ease to the the button. Roaring water splashing below him. Faldor began swinging back and forth in an attempt to reach the button. He catches the ledge near the button, just as the tiny thread snaps. Faldor hangs to the narrow ledge by his finger tips, his tiny legs kicking frantically, trying to get a foothold. Ahhh by my whiskers, I ...I.....I am slipping!!! Faldor plummets toward the roaring water below him. He disappears in a splash |
| Faldor Longtail01-30-05, 04:39 AM | Faldor struggled madly as the strong currents carried him swiftly through a darkened tunnel. He gasped for air as he frantically grabbed for anything floating within the waterway. He finally grabbed a tiny piece of wood floating in the water. He rested his head against its jagged surface and darkness came over him. **************************************** ****************** Several hours later: Fesik was ugly even for rat standards. His eyes were crossed and one long yellowed tooth hung out of his long snout. His clothing was tattered and torn, it covered in random patches. His clothing was darkened by the filth of the waterways. He was larger than most rats, his arms muscled from years of hard labor. He had always been much slower and duller of wit than most. His strength compensating for his lack of wit. Fesik stood behind two small mice. Obviously frightened by the rat's size. They were not much more than children. Their hands were bound behind their backs and filth covered their youthful faces. Obviously having gone through a horrific ordeal. Behind him a much smaller rat stood. His darkened fur matched his filthy clothing. This rat the constant companion of Fesik was the vilest and cruelest of cruel. Sedic the smaller rat, yelled harshly to Fesik as was his usual nature. He cracked a three pronged whip against the ground. Get these two moving we don't have all day. Master says these two slaves will be highly profitable on the open market. A golden gleam appeared out of the water the small group was walking along. Fesik noticed it first and walked toward it. He leaned his large form down picking up a tiny golden button from the swirling waters. He stuck one finger in his nose and looked over to Sedic holding the button out with his unoccupied paw. Lookey what Fesik find...Fesik find pretty...Fesik like. Can Fesik keep? Sedic looked to the golden button, he rushed over quickly and snatched it from the larger rats hands. He bit down on it and his eyes filled with greed. This....this this is....No! No!No! This will go to Master, he will most definitely give me a reward for finding it. Fesik looked to Sedic his finger still in his nose. But Fesik find it not you. Sedic snapped the whip, his eyes filled with anger. Get back to work you stupid beast or I will feed you to the roaches. Fesik responded standing behind the cowering mice. Unaware of what had just transpired. He looked to the cowering mice, though strong, he was unwilling to hurt them. The mice however moved as the large rat lumbered behind them. **************************************** ****************** Faldor awoke a few moments after the rats had passed by. He clung to the piece of wood and paddled to the nearby shore. He picked himself out of the water and sat on its edge catching his breathe. He shivered as the cold crept through his wet body. He sniffed the air ,catching the scent of the rats that had just passed. Faldor mumbled to himself."Oh grand not only do I not know where I am, there are also rats down here." |
| Silentfire01-31-05, 09:40 AM | Rupert held quite still while she coated him in the ointment. He took hold of the small crate, and blinked with surprise as he lifted to meet his sister. we haven't much time, we must hurry.. With that said, he held tight to the case, and moved forward, floating high enough above the cemetary but not too high, with his half sister. |
| melynxt01-31-05, 09:52 AM | Trinkette squealed in protest as Faldor went after the button and fell in. She desperately skidded on her stomache to grab at his tail to catch him, successfully grabbing hold of it, but unfortunately being pulled in through the large grate and into the harsh waters along with him. She hit with a sound splash, and surfaced, gasping for breath, only to have her little lungs filled with stagnant waters, and the undertow pulling her back under the surface. She lost sight of Faldor when she emerged, but somehow found a small glass jar floating in the current, climbing into it with a squeeze and slipping into unconsciousness... When her body finally had rejected the stagnant water, it was several hours later, and her head spun as she found she was no longer flowing in the current, but the jar had been caught in a small 90 degree angle'd ledging. Carefully she climbed out of the jar and onto the ledging, and sat down, exhausted. She looked around, and saw nothing of familiarity. A soft exhale passed through her lips but was quickly silenced, as the sound of a whip echoed somewhere behind her, and gruff voices and footfalls soon followed. . o O(someone is down here..oh no, my stars there must be rats like father said..i must hurry) She jumped up and scurried up into a small crack in the wall, pressing herself into it and going quiet, as the approach of the two rats and their captures neared. |
| Shilend_Sharpwhisker02-02-05, 11:27 AM | Oho! This is better than I had hoped! They've fallen into the sewers! he thought with a little jump of excitement while he remained sheltered in the shadows. Perfect Perfect! Lady Livym will be so pleased! And then he left, streaking off thru the shadows to report the good news. |
| JonVieve_Blackpaw02-02-05, 11:48 AM | It didn't take long for them to arrive at their destination. With the help of her ointment, the pair quickly found themselved landing just outside one of the many entrances to the headquarter's of the mousey resistance. Rushing in, Jonvieve noted the many stares and harsh looks she got from the soldiers inside. Paying them no mind, she set down the case of potions and gestured for Rupert to do the same. Turning to the surviving members of her half-brother's kingdom she spoke, her tone commanding complete attention. "You all know very well who..and what I am. Rupert has requested that I join you in the fight against the felines. I have chosen to do so. The crates here hold inside them the weapons we will bring to bear against our enemies. I will arm you with my magic and we will defend Gilead Minor until Trinkette returns with her army. This is not an option, this is a direct order from your King. Do you all understand?!" she bellowed across the hall Their faces were wary, but without hesitation a great cheer rose from them. They would defend their home an avenge their dead. And JonVieve's magic was just what they needed to do it. She turned her head to look at her brother, nodding to him. "Have them form ranks. Divide them in half, half will get doses of my flying ointment, the other will have their weapons coated with poisons and be given potions of healing. Let's get this fight started, Rupert. It's time we pay back the furred evil for our dead." |
| Cesik Shadowwalker02-03-05, 01:52 AM | A tiny mouse soldier at the back of the ranks raises his arm slowly imitating the actions of the cheering mice. He raises a hood, his face darkening under the hood. Two yellow eyes gleam out from underneath the hood. He steps away from the cheering mice, sticking to the shadows, he makes his way to his residence of the past few months. o O (I must tell the master the witch has returned) Cesik steps through the ancient wooden door, he closes it behind him. A dark energy dances over Cesik's form. He stretches his back as his chameleon features replace the mice form he had taken. His yellow beedy eyes peer to a lone candle holder on the wall. His green clawed paws reach for the candle holder. He gives it a quick twist and a passageway opens revealing a dark winding staircase. |
| Cesik Shadowwalker02-09-05, 01:00 AM | Cesik moves silently down the dark cobweb filled staircase. His footfalls echoed ominously through the narrow passageway. He walked for a long time finally coming to a dark chamber. He opened the chamber's wooden door. A cold breeze chilled him as he looked to the dark evil chamber. The chamber dripped with wetness and a moss grew along the cobblestoned walls. A vast dark pit opened at the far end of the chamber. Tiny skulls littered the floor as Cesik walked in a sickening crunch echoed through the chamber as he came to a large pole. The pole was rusted and coated in tiny spider webs. A bell hung from the pole. Cesik's clawed paws grasped the bell and he shook it violently. Cesik listened for a time after the bell echoed into the dark abyss. Soon the footsteps of hundreds echoed through the chamber. The head of an enormous cockroach appeared over the top of the the pit. It's antennas were covered in moss and the remnants of some dark disturbing meal covered its slime coated face. The large beast pulled its dark form up and in front of Cesik. His size almost matching that of Cesik. Several hundred smaller versions scurried up behind the great lord. The Great lord clicked as is spat out its words. "What do you need of us master." Cesik smiled wickedly, thought the smile was covered under his cloaked face. "The witch has returned, tell the master and send me your best. I want her head as a prize when the master returns." Several of the smaller roaches seemed to click and hiss in laughter. The roach lord clicked and hissed. ""As you wish m'lord" He turned his massive body toward the pit and moved down into it, he disappeared. The smaller versions followed his lead, after devouring whatever life had been left in the dark chamber. |
