We've gotten new blood since then (myself included), and so, at the dawn of another year of Baator adventures and matches, let's keep the awards tradition alive. Sorcen_Anenooata 01-29-08, 09:46 PM	Sure I'll throw in my votes for it. I didnt last year due to thoughts of being biased but I think it'll be fine, and I havent had much to judge for awhile so meh. Best Roleplayer (Overall) - Alot of people have done well this year, but through my very enjoyable experiences with roleplaying alongside Lunoc, I have to give it to him. Lunoc has my vote for Best Roleplayer of 2007 Best Newbie (Joined since January 1, 2007) - I'm not sure if they joined before or after the new year but according to the character roster's date for his character entries they're considered a newbie. So my vote goes to Dragor Shadowfury, now going under the name of Munchlord around here. Northwind and Lunoc deserve honorable mention as well. Best Battle (Awarded to a particular fight, link the fight) - The Mage Duel, hands down. Best RP Thread (Thread Owner gets the award, link thread) - Both the Nexus and the Taverne have had excellent RPing this year. I'll have to think more on this though. Best Backstory - Its a hard decision but I think Siventarr has a very well laid out description. Best Descriptions - This year, Bahamut. Most Original - Xanaphina's polar bear guy was cool, TopTomCat's idea of a dragon wyrmling inside a dragon mech was brilliant, Gid's Caben Durr is so epic and legendary he has to be mentioned, Larz's The Ripper would have been my last years vote for most original, Bahamut's Siventarr is an amazingly powerful yet well played character, Revlis had well Revlis, Gareth has too many unique ones to choose just one really, ditto for Khael and all his unique and mindboggling characters, Kate's characters, LostMage's Sash Sirsay, Gaelro's character's were unique to the arena but the ideas werent original, Dragor has some original ideas in his massive list of characters, Lunoc of course has a few original and unique characters, Gordonml's Shadewing, and others. Suffice to say theres plenty of unique and awesome characters around here. Its a hard decision but my vote has to go to Korone's dragon Koronexesfetero'Rashzyxo'T'kad'Fer. Technically he came back as a newbie in 2007 after his original departure so I think it counts. Sorry if any info is wrong and sorry I dont have time for the links and things right now. Congrats to all the participants of the arena, thank you all for your help in keeping my idea alive and fun.

Other than those two I think NW, Lunoc, Bahamut and E3 deserves special mention here. But now for my vote C&T Best Newbie (Joined since January 1, 2007): This one goes to NW, you rock dude ;) Best Battle: although it would probably seem a bit lame to vote for a battle that I was in myself, I think the mage duel deserves it. Brilliant initiative to start off that one! Best RP Thread: Taverne Best Backstory: I suppose this won't be much of a surprise, but if Ol' Bill was pickable here, then my vote would go to him. Bill being absent from the lot, my vote goes to Siventarr Best Descriptions: Bahamut Most Original: Ouch, that was a tough one... would go to Bill if he was in... dammit, I can't decide. EDIT: Also, thank you very much for the vote and the mentioning, although I do personally think that the best newbie should go to NW, and would still have voted for him if it wasn't bad behavior to vote for oneself. Other than that, I do fit into the newbie group... entered in spring 2007 sometime.

BURN THE HERETIC! :P heh, first off, you and Jessica are so closely matched I was very close to pulling out the dice and rolling. Concerning Gid, I've not looked overly much at his doings, but what I have seen doesn't beat you... although I shall not be able to say if what I have seen was the best he can do or not. If it was then I have one more excuse: I'm strange, deal with it ;)

NorthWind 02-04-08, 05:09 PM	Alright, here're my votes: Best Roleplayer (Overall) - Jessica Morgan, tied with Gideon (as per usual ;) ) Best Newbie (Joined since January 1, 2007) - This one's gotta go to Munch - I really like the way your characters are interconnected. Best Battle (Awarded to a particular fight, link the fight) - Reflections - I was poking around for potential winners, and found this nifty little mirror duel, which shouldn't be forgotten, if you ask me. Best RP Thread (Thread Owner gets the award, link thread) - Sorcen, your whole network of Baator threads ought to get an award, but if I had to pick one, the Tavernne gets it. The original thread is more of a chatting thread, and the IC threads are good, but not as intricate as the Tavernne. Best Backstory - this one goes to Ank's Sevifor, Chaos Incarnate. When you read about chaos incarnate, you half-expect a raging beast, but Sevifor is different. Best Descriptions - Cog's fights with Skraal take this one. Most Original - EpicEvokerElf's Derek Schmidke. Look at any character in the Baator roster, and you'll find someone strange, visually arresting, mysterious...and so on. Derek's just the opposite, something of a surprise amdist so many powerful characters.

Best Battle (Awarded to a particular fight, link the fight) - I, personally, didn't like the Mage Duel much at all. So many mages tossing apocalyptic magics around like party favors got (gasp!) boring. I had a lot of fun in the Ender v. Dhavid battle (IC III), although I don't want to vote for one I fought in. Best RP Thread (Thread Owner gets the award, link thread) - Kaylee's Nexus, the wedding one. Wonderful RPing. Best Backstory - Ender Chant. Best Descriptions - Probably Gareth wins this one. Most Original - My vote goes to a character who is absolutely the most amazing I have ever seen, although he's not new. Tyler Vici!

Munch comes in second, I reckon. Best Battle (Awarded to a particular fight, link the fight) - The big, BIG battle vs. Caben Duur. Ancient history, I know, but I liked it. ^_^ Best RP Thread (Thread Owner gets the award, link thread) - No vote here, I don't visit that many of them. Best Backstory - Again, don't know that many. Caben followed by Ziel, I think. Best Descriptions - JM, I think. Gideon is as good overall, but loses where descriptions are concerned. Most Original - You know, I might vote Tyler here to, but I don't know the character much. My vote goes for Ziel - not my favorite at all, I admit, but seriously original. Caben gets an honorary mention, though - an awesome and original character based on a not-so-new idea.
