Pipers Youth 11-05-04, 12:23 PM	The Red Wizards of Thay have been responsible for many atrocities throughout the course of their existence. Many of them show no restraint or remorse in their dealings with the foulest of extraplanar beings. Their only goal is the accrual of magical knowledge and the commensurate power, both political and economic, that will one day allow them to dominate the whole of Faerûn. They are unscrupulous and relentless in this pursuit, and they often sacrifice the lives of other sentient creatures without hesitation to gain the smallest advantage in their endless struggle for dominance. To Faerûnians, Thay is a dark and evil empire where cruel Red Wizards endlessly crack whips over screaming, groaning slaves, who are spell-transformed into weird monsters as their "reward" for backbreaking service. The truth is only a little different..... Our story takes place here in Thay where Pipers Youth, former friend of Agudo Archmage has lead him here only to be deceived and captured. His mysterious Excellency of the land has made Agudo's arrest public to the Realms, and declares a sentence of death upon him to make and example to all those whom interfere with the Red Wizards. News of this has reached Agudo's close friends and comrades and so they decide to ban together and travel to the Unapproachable East to rescue Agudo before it is to late. All right, now that we have the setting squared away here are our players, they consist of... Rescue team: Ruthia, Khaira, Kulideb, Drindin, Good Knight, and Myranthor Villains: Pipers Youth, and Edwin O. DM: Pipers Youth Sub GM: Agudo Archmage This thread is made strictly for the purpose of Out of Character stuff. Including chatting about the story, asking questions, and ect, ect. No real need to explain, you guys know the drill. As for the rules, everything goes by the Map of the Planes guidelines, found at The Rules of the Road. I hope I don't have to go through any FOD's since I don't like being mean! But it's alright as long as you pm the other player and tell them about it, and put it at the bottom of your post so I can know about it. All the players that have already joined immediately post here prier to what I have already private messaged you about. I know a lot of other people are wanting to join, so if you do please private message me. There is not a whole lot of room so I can't guarantee anything but I'll see what I can do. I just want all the rest of the players to distinguish themselves in the story and get it rolling first. I will notify everyone when I open the real thread soon. Weapons : Bow and short sword, but has been learning to use other weapons at Agudo's school. Kulideb is about 5 feet tall. She keeps her blond hair short. Her eyes are blue with gold flecks. She is usually happy but doesn't talk much of the past. It is known that she is from Evereska and that her family were all killed by the phaerimms. She set out to find a brother who had left home when she was a small child. And they all receive the message via gossip of people. Unless somenone has a better idea. Also I would like to know if everyone is going to be together when they recieve this message, or there at their own lands or homes when they here of this and thus travel to meet eachother. You guys can decide on that. And there is going to be a mix of fighting and short scenes in the story. So no Agudo it's not all fighting! You just sit there like a good slave and be tortured. Also I would like to put out again that if you would like to join please private message me or sub G.M if I don't reply.Even though It is extemly rare that I would not reply to a private message.

Back ground: A recently revived brother of Drindin Trunin. Shades had died defending Drindin a while back, and was risen by sheer will of certain gods who did not reveal themselves to him. Shades is the self-appointed defender and protector of Kulideb, and can usually be found but footsteps away from her. He will not admit it publicly, but there is little doubt in his heart that he may even be inlove with her. Hast I been summoned? Then consider Shades to be involved. His undieing devotion to Kulideb being the unseen force which drags him here. Name: Algared the First Warrior of the Tribe of Zehilo Race: Ederos Minotaur (Normal minotaur, only smarter) Class: Fighter Age: Unknown Back ground: Accidentaly stumbling upon the material plane of Faerun by a long trip through the plane of shadow. He wields a great axe, which seems to grow to be bigger than him when he properly uses it. Also, when he wields it properly, freakish flames engulf the blade which turns obsidian, and a devilish face can sometimes be seen within the obsidian head. If asked about the axe, all he says is it's a faminly heirloom. He talks little of his origins or of why he's here, and is very unresponsive when asked.

Pipers Youth 11-10-04, 09:09 PM	Sorry guys, I am having a really rough time right now. I am currently reading The Complete Idiot's Guide to Spirituality for Teens by Pastor William R. Grimbol. One of my close friends recommended this book and maybe I really needed to get in touch with my Spirituality. I find myself lost, in a fog it seems like, and I need to lift that soon before I have a complete breakdown! :help: Hopefully I can pull myself together and do this. Now that everyone is here I will send a private message to all of you to inform when the thread is opening. I hope this isn't going to be a constellation for any of you. I just wrote it because at the time Myranthor was online talking to me and was saying how he was having some fun with the choas in the school, thus his post if you read the whole thing. So I said what I said to continue the choas a bit, since he has plans for that. So umm....anyone who's at the school, please step up :P And try not to get trampled on by the brute headed knights or the flutter brained Brads as you approach :P :P

Ya,*cough*that's it! :schemes: Ha, ha ha ha haaaaa! :rolleyes: Your burning damage couldn't harm a flea! :smirk: No, but, really, the burning thing was used as a kind of control... teleportation (which is what Mazithra used), is a very easy way out. But I didn't want him journeying for days and days and days and days back to the school. So, I concluded that, since the hasn't used this teleportation very much, he wouldn't know that such a strong magical interference would effect the path of teleportation. So, basically, the teleportation and the burning and the fact that he's still a few miles away from the school is for a type of control, just to show that even a Githerzai of such power as Mazithra can't just teleport like *poof*, that there may be other factors that may hinder the process. Did I make any kind of sense right now? Or was that a whole, completely rambling post?

I want Khaira's trial to be finished beforehand, because it will affect its sequel. However, as "Treachery" happened int he same timeline this would happen, I thought I had to describe what the situation would be, for sake of realism, and to strike your attention a little. Also, this isn't a setting for a quest : when Khaira's trial will be resolved, I won't open a new thread, and I won't create any evil characters to fight the good guys. All of this should happen in Agudo's School's main thread, and be acted only by our characters. Have a good day!

Well, you see, when your a day running late on opening a thread and you are suffering from sleep depravation, anything can happen. In this case it was a typo. I have to admit I hoped nobody would catch on, but it's obvious now. And I'm proud to say I don't feel bad about it. It can happen to anyone. But I don't think it really matters now, because were all here just to have fun. I would also like to congratulate everyone. Yet I didn’t know Myranthor hadn’t gone to the Tavern. :( Alas I shall see how I can fix my long-winded well-met and may I say grand post :embarrass Speaking of that superb if slightly flawed post here some info on it The idea behind Keldorn plan, is that unlike the Elvin Army Commander that Grayleaf talked about. Who teleported about like some Ego-Lord. Firecam showed how such magical power, can be difficult to use, and yet add spice to the game; when (used sparingly) with other means of travel. For example Kulideb power mixed with a dragon’s power of flight, was the “spice” that I was speaking of. The Gnome part can be anything else as well….like a normal Floating sea-ship, Magic Carpet, Flying Horse, Walking. However it’s done it makes the adventure more detailed and realistic. Ok enough lectures on good gaming ;) and onto my post…..I shall insert the words (Other Arcane users in the Room) If any! Where Myranthor name was!

I suggested that you shouldn't roleplay Good Knight, but could merely try to make him follow the rest of the group, in case Agudo might be mad if he did something he wouldn't approve of. However, knowing Agudo's player, I believe it would be unlikely if he was angry for something like that. That's it.

Piper, I thought you finally came to a decison...heh heh. Ultimately, I guess, it would depend on what you plan on happening in Treachery. After all, if Piper got all soft and turned "toward the light" as beseeched by Agudo, well, then, he wouldn't be hunting Dante or helping out the Red Wizards, for that matter. Of course, that could add a little twist to his actions... And, obviously, if Piper got killed (or whateveer), he obviously wouldn't be doing much of anything, save floating around in incorporeality. :D Ultimately, it'd depend, I guess, on what happens to Piper here. Though, if you want to avoid that risk of chance, perhaps it'd be best to have it before Treachery happened after all. Of course, then you'd have to wonder...how long before? Before he even met Agudo? It could be, if it does end up happening before, that his actions (in the Hunting of Dante) would mold his character and personality into what he is in Treachery of a Red Wizard. Just my two cents.

Of course, now I'm unsure as to whether or not Mazithra made it to Keldorn in time, if the spell he activated against the branch worked or anything... So, I guess I'm just going to wait until Keldorn/Piper posts before I take any more actions in order to prevent further confusion and chaos.

ruthia 02-27-05, 05:03 PM	umm, I just relized I didn't give you enough details about Ruthia. At this point in time Ruthia is in what I like to call "Fire-Lizard" Mode. For people whom haven't read Ann McCaffery's books fire-lizards are small dragon-like creatures from which the origanal Pern dragon was Genetically crafted. These animals vary in size, but I'd like to say she's roughly the size of a large house cat. So with that said I'd would also like to point out that it is pretty unlikely that Ruthia herself could do massive damage to this ambusher. She could basically give him a real bad headache though, I'm very willing to bet having a small dragon pulling your hair does not feel very good.

It's fine with me:) Also I am examining all of your character sheets very carefully. I have a lot to take into mind. Mazithra's chaotic sword: creates aura of fear and 40%spell failure. I can tell you know, I have no clue about how to get that out of his hands. And Septris, apostle of peace level 8! This gives her some amazing feats. Such as turn undead, pacifying touch, and the most disturbing censure fields. A 4rd-level apostle of peace can censure fiends, much as good clerics turn undead. Channeling holy power from the celestial planes, he or she can make demons, devils, and other outsiders with the evil subtype recoil. And can even banish of demon in some cases. This does not fare well with Red Wizards. The masters of conjuration and evocation. I may summon a devil up to slaughter you all and Septris can keep it at bay. Also Agudo's Knight Keldorn is made specifically to battle evil mages. And Kulideb can call upon a score of shadow creatures to do battle. I'm not even going to recall Agudo's many skills and feats, with his endless barrage of spells. Fortunately he has agreed to keep them in check for awhile. Let's not forget you also have Ruthia, a white dragon form Pern! Now tell me why shouldn't I just give up now and throw my hands up in defeat? This party it seems is perfectly designed for taking on this job. I'll tell you why! Because I am very persistent! I will pull out all the stoppers If need be. If I fall I will take you all with me! Now I have to get back to the tedious work of creating a character sheet for Piper, so I can at least fend for myself. Hopefully I can pull this off before you guys reach Thay. That's when the real fun starts I assure you.

Just a little set back folks, things at home can sometimes be more pressing. Though I know everyone else can still post, and has reason too. I managed to upgrade Piper's character sheet, and now I'm working on writing his history, thanks to the books Champions of Ruin, and City of Splendors, Waterdeep. Pipers Youth 07-08-05, 09:41 PM	I have some really bad news, as some of you know hurricane Dennis is tearing it's way through Cuba right now, and it should be making landfall in the Florida Panhandle. It's projected path for now is headed straight into my town, and there already have been several evacuations. However, my family and I have decided to stick around and wait it out. I don't think its the smartest choice, but if it get's to rough, I will too evacuate. Right now I'm packing some of my belongings and getting ready, but I just wanted to inform everyone that I probably won't be posting soon. It's courteous to wait on a felllow player when the delay is 4 days, a week or,in extreme cases, 2 weeks. But when the delay is over a month, with no explanation and no sign that the player is even interested in the game anymore, it kind of places a dampener on things.

Pipers Youth 08-27-05, 11:56 PM	Ha, I knew Agudo when he was still a wannabe archmage traveling the sword coast! Realms Lore doesn't lie my friends. So Kuli may have most adored student, Khaira best adored teacher, and dare I say Ruthia, best dragon, but I was... Favorite Apprentice and Scribe! Yes, I had to all the dirty work. All the tedious writings I've penned from hand, answering piles of fan mail every day, and writing official documentation's for Agudo. Now I can't have the sleight of hand feat, due to arthritis. ;) Also, I can't stall any longer, so we are moving on. I sent Myran a notice, and I hope I can get a response soon. In the mean time, let's just assume that Septris' spell has worn off of Mazithra, so he is able to move now.
