| koraldon09-12-07, 11:59 AM | (I have looked for WotC legal department email, but didn't find it) Recently some people in Israel have started to translate the psionic portion of the SRD to hebrew. However, the local translator has announced to them that it is illegal to translate. From my understanding, that is plainly not true - the SRD is free to use, and translation is well within the rights, as long as the OGL rules are accounted for. Since this is a local bullying (and illegal) attempt in my eyes, I would be glad to hear WotC official response on this issue. And if it is indeed just bullying, maybe a small note to the local translator will make him stop this behavior. Is there anybody official in this forum? Or does someone have the legal department email? Thanks |

[non-legal advice] AFAIC, you can translate the SRD, but you must attach said Work with the OGL in its original language (i.e., English). An OGL translated in other language is not valid in court (though it can be helpful to non-English readers). |
