That was then

The war raged between the Trieen Empire and gathered forces of the Western tribes, and for a short while it looked like the Trieen Empire was on the decline, that is before the arrival of Agloss and his special forces battalion. Agloss was the second in command at the battle of Amario but within days he was put in charge of his battalion when his captain was killed at Fort Amario but he was ready for this responsibility. He took charge and with quick thinking stopped the incoming force’s attack and pushed them back into their own territory. “It was almost like he knew it was coming”, many said, but Agloss’ troops knew it was simply brilliant captaining. Agloss rose in position and was said to become the king’s new Head Advisor. After a few more months of loyal service, Agloss was accused of being a spy by the current Head Advisor: Gwarth O’taur. This was for the most part disregarded by the Trieen people and king, that is until false information from Agloss made its was to fort Keryn, at the battlefront. This information was critical in the loss of fort Keryn. He was then charged for treason because of his false information, and put on trial.

This is now

Ushered by a pair of royal guards, Agloss Lawthorn is walked to the podium at which he will stand for the duration of the trial. The room is filled with royal tapestries and elegant fabrics adorn the 12 juror’s seats. The Judges seat sits atop a heightened area looking down upon Agloss and the juror’s section, and a crowd of townspeople stand in the back watching the trial progress.

“Here ye Here ye! Everyone stand for the Great King Doromir the Third!”, Yells a Guard at the front of the great hall.

In walks king Doromir and his royal company: Head Advisor Gwarth O‘taur, General of public defense Brono Ellisud, and General of royal defense Agustin Brocc. Doromir takes his seat behind the judges booth, rummages thru some papers and then looks up shaking his head and then asks

“How do you plea against the charges of Treason to your nation? “

Agloss stands at attention and says

“Not Guilty, Sir.”

The kings then looks towards the crowd and jurors for their opinions on the situation

“What are your opinions my people?”

Clearing his throat, a long blond hair wizard walks forward from the crowd.
Standing several feet to the right of the accused.
This blue and white robe practicner of the arcane, was holding in one hand, an enchanted staff that had a sparkling blue orb on top.
With the other hand, the mage takes a few puffs on his corncob pipe.
Filling the air with apple cinnamon.
A lovely snow owl sits comfortably on the shoulder of this mysterious adventurer.
He then speaks with warm fatherly voice that seems to be magnified, as if by magic.

“Your highness, and goodly folks of this war weary Realm.
If I may take a moment and share my knowledge with you, and the wisdom of my companion”

The wizard points to the owl on his shoulder that can surprisingly smile back, at those who look at her.

“ We are travelers of the Realms, seeking history of each land we come upon, and its intriguing people.
Yet let it be known that I Agudo the Archmage of Light, and Lady Hoot, High Cleric of the Light.
Do not just, take the knowledge from those we interact with.
But share the Light with all… even in the darkest of times such as this.
Let the Light of truth shine through the shadows, and show what is hidden in mans hearts.”

Lady Hoot gently flaps her wings, and then speaks her pearls of wisdom.
“Your lordship,”

Some in the crowd gasps as the owl shows she can speak.
“You have asked for opinions, of what has befallen, this once prominent star of your court.”

She turns her head, nearly all the way around, like most owls can, and nods her head at Agloss.
A few nearly faint at the sight.
Yet to any Druid or Ranger in the castle, will know its a perfectly normal owl body movements.

She then turns back to look at the king.
“Lets us measure the depth of the facts against this man; with his history in service to your crown.”

Agudo taps his staff, in a sign of agreement with the snow owl.
“Yes your majesty, with you permeation let us bring forth his supporters and detractors.
Then we shall go over the proof and see if a new Light cannot be shined on this matter. What do you say good king?”

Ah yes Agudo I believe I have heard of you and your... companion.

The king waves to a guard and speaks to him softly in his ear.
The guard then yells!

If there is anyone here who has good to say of Master Agloss please step forward!

A soldier steps forward and says

Sir I have worked with Master Agloss for 6 months and he never once led us wrong.

The crowd starts booing and pushes the soldier back into the fray.

From behind the king a man steps forward... it is Head Advisor Gwarth and then he says

I was the one who first found Agloss' letter of defection to the Western tribes.

The crowd clammers loudly in awe

And he also sent false information to our troops in Keryn which ultimately lead to their demise.

Gwarth sits back down and the guard continues,

Is there anyone else?

A few other in the town step forward and say they saw odd behavior from Agloss for weeks now

As the guards sits back down noticing no one else had anything noteworthy to say, Head Advisor Gwarth thinks to him self,

"I can't believe it is going over this smoothly, the people are falling into line just as I had planed hahaha."

The king stands and says glumly,

Then it is settled with the charges against you and all the evidence pointing to you, your execution date will be set for tommorow morning at sharply 11:00 am.

The crowd cheers at the thought of another public execution and small children unleash a flurry of fruits and vegetable at Agloss as he is escorted out of the room.

Lady Hoot watched as the wasteful act of produce rained down on the falsely accused hero.
“It’s a shame how easy its is to cow people into despicable acts.”

The Archmage of Light sadly agreed.
“to true my friend, if their was only someway or even someone who could help…. But who?”

Lady Hoot pondered the situation.
“We could brake him out! Granted our reputation would suffer as well as being wanted fugitives. From this land.”

Agudo smiled a rascally look.
“Yes well Hoot lets hope our lawfully good standing wont have to suffer.”

Snapping his fingers,
simple magical popping and flashing sounds took place.
Basic magic fireworks that would impress the crowd, and bring them to his attention.

“People of this… merciful land.”
He says with sarcasm.

“If anyone wishes to speak with me privately, about the fate of Agloss; I shall wait here until the hour of the execution”

The day runs out and night comes upon Agudo and Hoot but still no one speaks to them about Agloss. Morning comes and still not a soul.

9 am Agloss recieves his last meal

9:20 am A lone messenger comes to AGudo out of breath and hands him a letter saying,

Dear Agudo

I have heard from the towns people that you stood up for Agloss in his moment of need but to no avail. I can help though but unfortunately I am locked in a cell in the eastern side of town and am scheduled to be killed at 10:30 am today so I you would use this map and get me out.

The night grew long, as the guest made there way from the audience chamber.
The candles burned low, and even the night watchmen slept,
by leaning on their halberds

Keeping his word, he waited in that spot. Floating on his back through magical means as he rested himslef.
Lady Hoot satt comfortably on the wizard’s stomach. EYes closed waiting for anyone with aid for the befallen hero.

By day brake, the servants hurried about, cleaning and prepping the large room, for its daily activity.

Agudo stood once more, waiting for the sad hour.
But then at last, a glimmer of hope appeared.

In the form of a note.

“What do say Lady Hoot, is it a possible trick, by a desperate thug, wanting out of jail?”

Lady Hoot considered the needed news.
“We could cast a Truth Spell, on the one who sent this message.
Either way we must hurry, for time draws near the hour of execution.”

With a flip of his of his long blue and white cape, partly for dramatics; and partly to make way for what he planed next.

The servants stopped their dusting, looking up with curiosity at the strange Mage.

Agudo boldly walks to the large ornate window, and if by his powerful stare.
The hinged window opens, with a gust of wind; as he and his owl friend, leap from the ledge.

A haggard old woman with a broom, runs over and looks down to the ground, from the now open chamber window.
To her surprise, no one but a pair of horse are about on the ground.
Least of all a splattered form of a crazy Wizard.
Then off in the distance she sees, the blond hair Mage, flying for far side of town.

Another of her servant friends called out.
“Well is he dead?”

the old woman turned around with a shake of her head.
“Ye know I have heard of birds flying, even a Barb tale, of an elephant named Dumbo doing it.
But a Wizard?”

A short time latter flying several feet off the ground.
Agudo peeks through the bared window, of the town jail.
He sees several people milling about. All hungry and dirty.
A few are even chained up, but not all.

“Excuse me!
Yes up here, that’s right don’t be afraid.
I am Agudo the Archmage of Light and this is Lady Hoot.
We have come to talked with Beseiri”

A strange being can be seen in the crowd. The figure wore a fine black velvet, collared shirt over a mithril chainshirt. A silver "flowing" necklace ecompassed the man's neck. Black gloves and mid-shin high, turned down, boots glistened as if recentely buffed. Black velvet pants were tucked into the boots, and two scabbards, each holding a rapier on either side of the figure, hung easily on his waist. The most interesting thing about this peticuliar creature though, was his eyes and skin. His hair was worn short, and it looked as if forged from silver metal. His eyes had no pupil, just a slick silver sheen that filled the whole of his socket. His skin looked as if it was forged from the puriest of silver, and it shined in the morning light.

((OOC Look here (http://www.jessdoor.com/galleries/art/zenythri.jpg) for a picture of him.))

The necklace had a very peculiar ability cast upon it. When this Zenythri was younger, a mage casted a ever-lasting Dimension Door spell upon the necklace, making not only the necklace a flowing piece of metal, but also gave the wearer the ability to Dimension Door at will. This Zneythri had trouble controlling it though, and disappeared and reappeared at very peculiar times. It was not until the being found Blink, his left hand rapier that was named after it's blinking property, that he could control the Dimension Door and the Blink affect. Each counter-balanced the other, and it turn gave full control to the bearer.
Larinthiose De`marko De'lavoi, the Zenythri planshifter, hated this peticuliar kingdom. Alive for centuries, Larin knew well the history of the kingdom, and for reasons unknown, he hated it. Not knowing the prisoner, not really caring who it was as long as it distrupted King Doromir's plans, Larinthiose shifted (the term used when he uses the Dimension Door ability) from the Prime Material to the Ethereal Plane, re-appaering, swords drawn, behind the executioner. Before anyone could even ackknowledge his prescence, the Zenythri slid Blink into the executioners head and Silver Strand into his throat, abruptly cutting off the man's laugh, turning it into a blood-gurgle. And again, just like that, he shifted away, coming up ontop of a roof some districts over.

Pulling her hair back Beseiri announces, I am your stable girl if you cannot tell King Doromir and I saw the messenger come in and I readied his steed for him. Then he told me he forgot something so he went back inside the castle. I then went back and cleaned out the newly emptied stall and when I heard someone approach I looked thru the cracks in the wood and saw Gwarth sneak in and switch out the letter in the saddle bags of the messenger's horse. But my broom fell and he heard me so he threw me in the prison camp in the east district so I couldn't tell. And this great ma... she looks back and notices she can't see Agudo

Sordinn nods, running to the well, took a sip of the water and poured seven drops of the liquid into the well. A green cloud of smoke floated slowly from the bottom of the well, but afterward there was no remaining evidence that the water had changed.

But be careful , intelligence says that there is a squad of western marauders coming up on your south side and they are estamated to reach you around the same time as us.So if you open the gates when you hear my horn you will still have time to defend your southern flank and when my troops reach the castle we will shut the gates for you. "What are you doing?" Gwarth barked at the tribesmen. "Get out of those ridiculous headdresses and put on the army clothes! Wash off the warpaint, too!"

"Sir, isn't that a little harsh?" Sordinn interrupted. "I don't think that you need to-"

Agudo and Hoot look on as the meeting of the two takes place.
“We should be ready for any surprises Lady Hoot”

The Wise white owl nodded her head.
“Let us pray for a peaceful meeting.”

As Agloss closed the gap between Sordinn and himself he saw the man quiver in fear but he paid no heed and when he had reached him he yelled,

What do you think you are doing? Where is Gwarth?!

Sordinn looks up.

"I can lead you to Gwarth before it is too late!"

-------------------------

The marching troops finally spotted Castle Gaeraw.

"If that idiot betrayed me..." Gwarth mutters to himself. "But no, let me relax, for victory is within my grasp. We are but a quarter-hour away from conquest, and my men must march. MARCH, YOU FERAL, IDIOTIC BEASTS! MARCH!" he barked, and the army continued advancing.

"It would seem Agloss, your enemy is close at hand. What do think we should do?"

Agudo and Hoot waited as the others spoke.
