| aravilar_holistacia11-25-03, 08:45 PM | ((OOC: :D :D Welcome to Twilight Hall, our dice-less ISRP, where we will be having adventures in the Realms that deal specifically with the Harpers. Please be considerate of other posters, and don't reply or RP for anyone unless that person is your NPC. In other words, don't post anything that you yourself cannot make happen. In addition, if you intend to post here, please PM me a copy of your stats and your character description/personality. Thanks, Aravilar, Threadkeeper)) Aravilar, slightly winded, ran up the stairs in the highest tower of Twilight Hall. As he reached the top, he threw open the door, which entered into a quiet, tidy office. The sign on the door read, "Aravilar Holistacia, High Harper, Spell-Major of Myth Drannor. Appointments as requested." He walked swiftly to the floor-length mirror, where not a reflection was seen, but the outside view of the city of Berdusk. All was quiet over the city. The most powerful Harper base consisted of an outer wall, an outer bailey, which contained the Harper guildhall and the members' quarters, an inner wall, and five towers, each corresponding to a different god, and administrated by a different Harper; Mystra's tower was the home of the Harper mages. Containing the Harpers' most prized magical treasures and many portals, it was the most heavily defended portion of the base. Aravilar's glass-plated office was situated atop this tower, creating a reflective beacon for the city of Berdusk. Aravilar was the head of the magic department at the base, so his domain was Mystra's Tower. Oghma's tower was the home of the Harpers' loremasters and the public library of Berdusk, maintained by a trio of gnomish clerics of Oghma. Contained within the walls of this tower were some of the greatest works of literature and art ever created in the Realms: Statues from Myth Drannor, jade and paintings from Kara-Tur, and art from around the Realms and the planes were never before collected in such a wondrous place. ((Harper needed to adminstrate this tower.)) Deneir's Tower was the zenith of research centers. Scholars hard at work sat rigidly in rows, pondering tomes and divining locations of artifacts and fey crossroads/backroads. ((Harper needed to adminstrate this tower.)) Corellon's Tower was the home of the Harpers' méleé training area. Harper-recruits came here first before going anywhere else to practice with the organization's finest weapons-masters. The great Taeleraed Saahdel, Chosen of Corellon, administered the daily life of this tower. Finally, the Twilight Tower was the Harpers' meeting rooms and their final defensive tower should the city fall to invaders. Its gold-inlaid marble construction allowed for an effective defense versus magical attacks. Aravilar looked about the campus, and seeing his Harpers congregating around a stage and podium set up in the bailey, he flicked his wrist, teleporting to the stage, where he was to deliver a speech. |
| Vashano Aermane11-25-03, 09:46 PM | He shifted uncomfortably, from the darkness of his hood. No need to get strange stares now. Amazingly muscular arms crossed, he waited. To others, he seemed as nothing more but a six-foot tall figure concealed entirely by a massive cloak and hood, it's movements inhumanly graceful. It watched...and waited...for the famous speaker to spread his words, it's gloved hands tightening around a bit of cloak. It's...a lil' chilly...zzz... He awoke with a start but rubbed his arms, trying to keep himself as warm as possible. (( Very vague...but...eh. He'll be revealled a lil'later. )) |
| Taeleraed_Saahdel11-26-03, 10:56 AM | Taeleraed Saahdel strode gracefully into the bailey, and took a seat beside and behind the podium. He grinned mischeiviously, as he always did, as the thought of the Harpers gathering for another grand speech. A number of hilarious comments sprung into Tae's head, and he stuffed them away into a back part of his mind, reserved for a later date and a more appropriate time. His elf ears detected a the approach of footsteps coming down the wooden stairs, the low heels resonating on the old wood. Tae stood as the mighty Aravilar came through the doorway, and walked up to embrace him. He knew the hug would catch the mighty mage off-guard, but that's what made it funny. It's good to see you again, Aravilar. The harpers await your word.Tae gestured to the podium |
| Ssussunriyh11-26-03, 01:45 PM | Standing near the back of the auditorium, leaning casually upon a walking stick of polished ebony and engraved silver, was a slender, elegant woman of indeterminate age. She stood barely five feet tall and might have weighed a hundred pounds all told. Finely sculpted features and delicately pointed hears proclaimed elven heritage. Her skin was as fair as alabaster and her hair as white as newly-fallen snow. This, combined with the long, flowing white silk robes in which she was attired, gave one the impression that her physical form was illuminated from within... Her ruby-red eyes held a gaze of such intensity that they seemed to pierce and penetrate what they looked upon, instead of merely viewing. Resting upon her brow was a silver circlet set with a single large ruby. A ring of identical design adorned her left hand. At her throat was a medallion depicting the holy symbol of Mystra, Goddess of Magic... Lady Bianca Ssussunriyh was not a Harper, but she was known to work with them on occasion, and she came highly recommended. Currently, she was here to act as liaison between the Harpers and another group, who shared certain goals with them, but for personal reasons wished to avoid public scrutiny... |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart11-26-03, 06:13 PM | OOC: Ahhhh soo nice to see these boards up and running...I want you all to take a vote on who you want me to roleplay beacuse I have two main harper charactors: My ranger, Halreth, who is an outlaw/rebel type-of-a-guy or I will roleplay both this scottish dwarf/giant (as tall as say a half-orc) with a greatsword who is the campainion, best friend and greatest rival of a monk who was exiled from her school that taught skill with one handed bladed weapons (usually a longsword). All my outlaws know eachother...as in the three I just listed traveled with many others on great adventures however only a few were harpers. |
| aravilar_holistacia11-26-03, 06:42 PM | Aravilar looked about the campus, and seeing his Harpers congregating around a stage and podium set up in the bailey, he flicked his wrist, teleporting to the stage, where he was to deliver a speech. "Greetings to you all, and thank you for coming to this grand dedication of Twilight Hall," began Aravilar, after the Herald of the Harpers blew his three note bar on his bugle to quiet the audience. "Never before have we been so united, and through the dark mists we have waded to reach this day. I would like to take this time to discuss the many issues at hand. "First off, I'd like to thank the Temple of Deneir for allowing us this space for our main headquarters. Without their wisdom, we would be lost to the ages as a splintered group. "Secondly, we must take care to note the many goings-on here at the base. As luck would have it, the members' quarters have been completed inside the guildhall, located just outside the inner walls, so we Harpers may now live on this campus. For the use of this service, please see the High Harper of Internal Affairs, Frostbite Ravenheart ((Frostbite, please reply to this issue)), who will be able to give you a room and board. "I want to recognize Taeleraed Saahdel, the administrator of Corellon's Tower and the executive officer of the Harper organization for his help in creating this base. Without his aid, we would have been lost in the bureaucracy of logistics." Aravilar turned, and nodded to Taeleraed, who stood up briefly and waved to the crowd. Aravilar cleared his throat, and continued. "There's always more to discuss, so if you would like an appointment with myself, or Taeleraed, please go to one of our offices: My office is at the top of Mystra's Tower, and Tae's is at the apex of Corellon's Tower." This concluded the speech, so Aravilar nodded to the bugler once more, who played a six-note bar on his bugle. The crowd began to disperse. "Well," he said, turning to Tae, "that was interesting. I had no idea so many people would be here today." |
| Agudo Archmage11-26-03, 06:50 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley It was a lovely day for a walk, a wizard in blue and white robes said as he strode the coble stone street. The classic architecture of the houses were eye catching, and the cleanliness of the town, was honor to the leaders of this great land. Or at least that is what Agudo kept mumbling, he was trying to come up with the right words for his second book (Agudo Travel Guide to the Realms) “Now I have been here a for three days, and yet to come up with the opening line for this city.” Agudo taped his magic staff with its sparkling blue jeweled ornament on the top, to make his point. He looks to Lady Hoot his wise white owl, and loyal friend, who flapped her wings before talking. “Well Agudo we still have time, before our next trip; and I do believe we have found the third stop, in the things to see, in this quaint town.” Agudo looked up and saw the towers of the Harper Guild Hall. “I must say for a secret organization, they do seem to advertise here in this place.” They both walked in at the moment of the crowd, which was gathering for the speech that was being made. He sat down with his white owl friend, at the same time taking out a magical white feather; that for some reason made Lady Hoot wince, when she saw it. He then opened his travel book and began to write. Agudo looked around at the people and the towers, he wrote of what he saw as best he could. Detailing the look of the place, and the feel of its people. He took a moment to take out his corncob pipe, and with a little magic lit it. The smoke smelled of sweet apple cinnamon |
| Gellion11-26-03, 09:06 PM | A magical gate opens, and out steps a man. His robes appear af if thery have seen countless eons. A creature then comes out of the gate after him, however just looking at this creature, you wince, something about it disturbs your very being. Gellion orders the creature to go back into the gate, the creature does what could be interpreted as a nod, and goes back through the gate, which then closes. Gellion bows to Aravilar. "I have never worked with the Harpers before, but i have know well about your orginization. I may not be able to stay long. But is there anything you desire from me?" |
| aravilar_holistacia11-26-03, 09:09 PM | Aravilar eyes Gellion and mumbles a prayer to Mystra. "Greetings, Lord Gellion. I request that you find a room at the guildhall, and perhaps check out the towers so that you may gain insight into our organization." |

| Agudo Archmage11-27-03, 02:02 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley After the announcement that the Harpers were coming out into the open. With this edifice to towers and beacons. The speaker disappeared with the use of Magic. “Now that will add to the site-seeing tour guide that I am writing. Can you believe it Hoot, people knowing where the Harpers are!” He turns to his trusted owl. “I wonder if Elminster is still involved?” Lady Hoot pondered the statements made by the speaker. “Wisdom would dictate that we speak with him, to learn more about this unusual turn of events.” Agudo rubbed his short blond beard. “Well that is true, besides from this distance I couldn’t be sure. But I thought that was the Elvin Archmage Aravilar” With that they made their way through the crowd, and to the magic tower. They find some one standing inside the first floor of the tower. “Greetings I am Agudo the Archmage of Light and this is Lady Hoot High Cleric of Light. We have come to speak with the man who just made the speech about this establishment. Is he available?” |
| aravilar_holistacia11-27-03, 02:15 AM | Aravilar sat calmly in his office, awaiting the arrival of a visitor. He looked about his office, and he looked out the windows upon the city of Berdusk. "Elminster indeed," mumbled Aravilar, hearing Elminster's name being spoken just inside the tower's first floor. The Chosen of Mystra had the ability to hear their names spoken anywhere in the Realms, and Aravilar had perfected that. He now could hear the names of ALL the Chosen. He looked at the door of his office, awaiting his visitor. |
| anglar11-27-03, 02:34 AM | A lone Elf, clad in what appears to be black silk clothing, with long green-gold hair tied back in a ponytail and under a hat designed to keep the sun off of the face and back of the neck walks purposely towards the door of Aravilar Holistacia. His heavy cloak flaps behind him. Any caring to give more than a cursory look would notice his longsword on his left hip, the thin whip around his waist, and the necklace. It is usually the necklece that draws so much attention. At first glance one might think they were simply animal teeth, but, with any closer inspection, it is more than apparent what beasts these teeth formerly belonged to: vampires. As he reaches the door, he stops, compses himself, and knocks. |
| aravilar_holistacia11-27-03, 02:41 AM | "Come," calls Aravilar, already noticing the scent of drow blood about the knocker. The elf walked in and shut the door behind him. Aravilar nodded to Anglar, and began to speak, saying, "Good to see you again, old friend." "I understand you just came back from the place they are attempting to lay your dark mythal. Any word on that?" The elf nodded, but did not reply. "Well, we have limited time before we must step in, you realize. If the dark mythal is laid, we will have prepared as such for naught." Aravilar nodded again to the man and pointed across the room to a world-window. "Yes," he said, "the hour grows late indeed." The window depicted a group of Lolth-worshiping drow in a circle, casting the basic spells for the city-shield. |
| Agudo Archmage11-27-03, 09:58 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley As they spoke to the Harper, she pointed up the tower walkway to the office that they must go. It took a few minutes, passing along the way the many levels, of this not so humble abode. The mage took note of the decorations and over all design of the inner tower. He was puffing on his corncob pipe, that had the sent of apple cinnamon, in every puff of smoke, untill they made it to the door, he then held on to it before speaking.. “Ahh Lady Hoot we have reached our destination, shall we knock or make one of those flashy magical entrances?” The wise and lovely white owl turned her head to him, as she sat on his shoulder. “He knows we are here, as surely as any Harper has spy’s in the farthest realms. Then it is logical to assume that they have told Aravilar of us.” Agudo smiled as he knew she was right. “Well then my friend, will do a little of both” Without saying a word, or moving his hands, a knocking sound could be heard on the office door. But at the same time, the door slowly opened, with that classic creaking sound. As the door swung open , they walked in to the room; Agudo’s blue and white robes sloshing on the floor as he moved. His staff tapping on the floor with every other step, its blue jeweled top glowing calmly. Seeing that Aravilar had company, he decided to be more formal with introductions. “Hail and well met to all, we have traveled far and seek sanctuary in this enchanting home. I am Agudo the Archmage of Light and this wise white owl is Lady Hoot, High Cleric of Light.” Agudo says the last part as he points to his shoulder where she sits. Lady Hoot flaps her wings then speaks. “May wisdom guide you, and the Light shine on your paths of life.” The Light wizard was still holding his pipe, but just before putting it back into his mouth. He winked at his Elvin student-teacher from his school. “I see Aravilar, that your leave off absence from my School of Light, was more than just a simple fieldtrip. If I had known, we could have gone together, for I must make many travels from the school, for the study of the Realms.” Agudo chuckles “Never the less its good to see you., Aravilar, yet tell me what of this place? ..... Why have the Harpers come out into the open, for every one to see? ....... What of their famous secrecy that has served them so well.?….. I know Blackstaff has broken his association with this organization; and Eliminster, can be aloof at times, but what have they to say of this place?” With long last he put his corncob pipe in his mouth, puffing away with a smoky apple cinnamon smell in the air. |
| aravilar_holistacia11-27-03, 01:26 PM | Aravilar motioned to Anglar. "This, headmaster, is Anglar, an elf of some renown, and one of my best Harper scouts." Anglar did not stand, but he nodded to the archmage. "In answer to your questions," Aravilar began after he had conjured a chair for the archmage, "we have come into the open due to many things; the biggest reason was that since Berdusk is a city of some renown, and it is relatively far from our enemies (although Darkhold lies just a day's travel from here). We also believe we can help the city with our presence." "Secrecy is a figure of speech. We will not, of course, speak our plans to the whole of the realms. However, our *existence* is unquestionable. We can still be secret, and yet so open to all." "My friends and compatriots Khelben Arunsun and Elminster Aumar are slightly more conservative in their views. "Khelben has agreed with me that he is not affiliated with us anymore, and I told him I would leave him to his own designs. "The Lord Elminster still says that this is not a good idea, and I *agree* with him, personally. However, this action will benefit the greatest number of people, and that is what I have tried to do here. "Whatever happens," said Aravilar, gesturing to the windows surrounding the office, "we will be always vigilant. We have more going on than you can know, right now. If you care to join Those Who Harp, I shall tell you a bit more of those designs we are involved in..." Aravilar got up and walked over to the world-window, pointing a finger at it. It quickly changed form, its picture changing to the School of Light. "You see, headmaster, we are not as open as you may think we are being." Aravilar watched the comings and goings of the students at the School for some time before turning back to his company. "We are not going to have to meet inside of old taverns and in the deep forests. We now have a place of power, and I am confident we have enough powerful beings here to defend it. "There is myself of course, a skilled user of the ancient Elven high magic and a Chosen of Mystra. "Taeleraed Saahdel, the arms-major of the Harpers and our executive officer, is a Chosen of Corellon Latherian. "And we have Anglar here," Aravilar said, gesturing to the silent elf. "Which is more than enough for any common Zhent to handle... or an army of common Zhents..." Aravilar laughed. |
| Legions of the Unknown11-27-03, 11:38 PM | Gilithian herd rumors from many a tavern about this meeting but alas he didnt know if it would happen now he was here and to his amazment there were to many people for him to count. alas he arived late in the middle of the speech. he doesnt really care for speeches so he just stides over to the tower of mystra and waits in the shadows thinking he sees a human enter and ask for the tower master. and watches him disapear up a stair case from the doorway. then after about five munites also askes to see the master of the tower for he has much to discuss. |

| Agudo Archmage11-28-03, 01:03 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley Agudo gladly sits and nods his head at the gentlemen Anglar, and decides that he had enough of his pipe for now. He puts the pipe in his inner pocket, still smoking and all, and continues to listen to Aravilar. “To be honest good friend Aravilar, I had heard as much from Volo. You see once a year we have lunch in Waterdeep, more of a friendly race between us; on who can get their latest Travel guide published first. As you may already know, my second book is called {Agudo’s Travel Guide to the Realms.} The Mage holds up his hand and his book sparkles into it. “A gift for your Harper library” Agudo hands it to Aravilar, and continues talking. “Anyway Volo said that the Harpers were up to something in Berdusk, and since Volo had already been here months before. He saw no harm in letting me know, do to the fact that by the time I had explored this city; he “Volo” would have it in print.” Agudo gives a half smile, half frown and shrug of his shoulders. “ Like I said a ….Friendly competition, Volo also mentioned that Elminster was mumbling more than normal, about his precious Harpers; and the schism that was taking place.” He stands and stretches his limbs, then walks over to see the view of the town, from the majestic windows. It was busy as any day in a town this size, with all it different races of people. “ When I came here to Berdusk, I had known idea you Aravilar, were the center of the schism. But like any religion, yet in this case a organization, its bound to have separation of denomination.” He turns his back on the window, to look at Anglar. “Never the less you seem to be in good hands, from what you have said; about those who have chosen to come out in the open, such as Anglar.” Agudo folds his arms and returns his attention to Aravilar. “Now as far as joining the Harpers… I am sure you have checked up on me Aravilar, like any good Harper would…." "....And you know of my long history in helping this organization as an {outside friend} The most famous of my adventures being with Jaheira, the druid half-Elf, battling the many Bhaal spawns. From the city of Baldurs Gate to the country of Amn; and even more so up in down the Sword Coast.” ((OOC Can someone say PC BG1 & 2/ Ice Windale fan!)) Agudo pauses then finishes his thought. “I will trust in your insight Aravilar, on how much information you can share with me of the Harpers plans.” |
| Gellion11-28-03, 01:13 AM | After having looked around the Harper's building. Gellion opens up a magical portal to dimension unknown and says. "Well, Aralivar, it certainly is an interesting place you have here, i have more pressing matters to deal with as of right now, but i will return when i can." Gellion then steps through the portal, which then closes behind him |
| Ssussunriyh11-28-03, 01:25 AM | Lady Bianca also requests an audience with Lord Aravilar, indicating that she has some important messages to convey. However, she patiently waits her turn, taking a seat in the antechamber and pulling a book from the sleeve of her robes. Anyone who peeks at the pages (and can read the script) will note that the book is written in Auld High Elvish... |

| aravilar_holistacia11-28-03, 02:18 AM | Aravilar turned back to Agudo. "My apologies on cutting this meeting short, but I have some business to conduct. We can talk more later, headmaster, at the school." {Agudo leaves, ISRP} "As for you, Anglar, you know what must be done. Travel to the Underdark, and find out what is happening to the Mythal of Shadows." {Anglar leaves.} Aravilar sat down calmly, and before he knew it, he had yet another visitor... Lady Bianca. Aravilar sighed, and sent a sending to the waiting elf, and he sat back in his chair, awaiting the visitor's appearance. |
| Gilithian O'Mar11-28-03, 03:08 AM | i am sorry milady but my persence is rquired in the chamber above maybe we can get a drink later (he bows graciously yet again then walks away up the stairs. at the landing before the door he stops...to colect his thoughts. then continues boldly through the door) greetings lord aravilar (bows deeply from the waist) (he is 5'8" tall bronze skin well muscled with green eyes (strange for his family witch had all blue eyes till him) he wears a white mages robe benieth a drow pawifawa and has to longswords one ancent in design the other looks drow made except for a continuous flame coming from the pomel) I request a council with you. |

| Agudo Archmage11-28-03, 03:24 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley The Archmage of Light gives a tip of his hat to Aravilar as a new person comes in. “Of course Aravilar I understand things pop up suddenly and need attending…….. Just think about what I said, of me being a friend of the Harpers. I will be in a near by inn if you need me, also I may stop by before I leave town; never the less have a good day.“ With that Agudo and Lady Hoot sitting on his shoulders walked down stairs and into the courtyard. He takes out his sketchbook and begins to draw some more of the things he sees. |
| Gilithian O'Mar11-28-03, 03:37 AM | "i am sorry for the swords but they are nessisary for aver land travel."(aravilar nods his consent)" i have heard some interesting rumors about the drow making some kind of great magic and i needed to give you my swords and my life in person as to me helping our cause. "(he looks out the window with a wistful expression) " i came as soon as i could and i still missed half of the speech so forgive my unkept apperance. it was from my haste to be here on this historic day"(he falls into a gracious bow again) OOC im goin to bed so g'dnight to all PS. gilithian only bows to women and superiors |
| aravilar_holistacia11-28-03, 03:44 AM | "If you want to learn more, I fear you will have to become a member of Those Who Harp... Please see the Arms-Major, Taeleraed Saahdel, for such a membership... "However, I *can* tell you that something big is about to happen... I cannot pinpoint it. It seems that a deity is blocking my scrying... Seek out the elf Anglar. He may be able to tell you more." |

| Ssussunriyh11-28-03, 11:57 AM | Bianca nods a greeting to Gilithian. "Classical Elven poetry is an acquired taste. Much of it is overwrought sentimental claptrap, in my opinion. However, I do enjoy the works of Llalaffa. He writes with a simple, unpretentious style. He writes about the sunlight in the forest, and what he thinks about that. He writes about the moonlight in the forest, and what he thinks about that. He writes about the elfmaid who left him for someone else, and precisely what he thinks about that!" She smirks. "And while I thank you for the offer, I don't drink; it dulls the mind. But perhaps we shall encounter each other later in the course of events." She rises and enters the Archmage's study. "Greetings, Lord Aravilar. I am Lady Bianca Ssussunriyh, currently Associate Professor of Divinations at the University of Silverymoon. High Lady Alustriel and High Mage Taern Hornblade send their regards. I also bring missives from certain other persons whom I prefer not to name aloud..." She pulls a scroll from the sleeve of her robes and offers it to the Archmage. It bears a lengthy formal greeting from the Chosen of Eilistraee, followed by a brief intimation of alliance against their common enemy... "The Lady of Mysteries and the Dark Maiden have a working relationship, perhaps even a friendship. To me, it seems only fitting that their followers should do the same." |
| Gilithian O'Mar11-28-03, 12:31 PM | yes perhaps (gilithan now walks to Taeleraed Saahdel's office and requests his presence politely) |
| aravilar_holistacia11-30-03, 11:27 PM | Aravilar nodded his head. "Continue, please. I am intrigued by your offer." |
| Ssussunriyh12-01-03, 01:46 AM | Lady Bianca paces absently towards the enchanted mirror, as if weighing her words carefully before speaking them aloud. Her cane taps along the floor. "It is generally understood that the Code of the Harpers is thus: to work against villainy and wickedness; to keep folk free of fear and tyranny; to support law and order to gain peace where laws are just and fairly enforced; and to prevent extremes of power and influence, and imbalances of wealth and opportunity. "The goal of Eilistraee and her followers is reconcilliation and peaceful co-existance between the drow and their surface-dwelling counterparts." Bianca carefully avoided stating that drow and surface elves were kin, knowing how vehemently some elves denied the relation. "Not as conquerors, like She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named or her Skulking-Son-in-the-Shadows would have it, and not as inferiors who are kept hidden away for fear of causing embarrassment. But rather as amicable neighbors, working together for mutual benefit. "Admittedly a lofty goal, one not likely to be realized within present lifetimes. But even the mightiest of trees begins as a tiny seedling. If planted in fertile soil and given proper encouragement it will take root, flourish, and bear fruit. If neglected, it will wither. "This seedling is called Hope. I come to you, seeking a plot in which to plant it. The two groups currently share a common enemy. Perhaps they also share a common ideology, but that is yet to be determined. For the present, a temporary alliance would be of mutual advantage. "The Harpers, being predominantly human and elven, can move freely upon the surface, while the Sisterhood of Eilistraee cannot - for obvious reasons. Every time one dares to show herself, the reaction of the local populace is 'Eek! A drow! Kill it!' or something along those lines. "At the same time, there are few if any among the Harpers who are familiar with the dangers of the Night Below to dare venture there. And their appearance would be just as unwelcome in the Underdark as a that of a drow upon the surface. "The proposal is that the two combine their efforts against the machinations of the Spider-Kissers and the Shadow-Lurkers. The Harpers working from above, the Dark Maiden's faithful from below. "I personally am uniquely suited to act as a conduit between the two groups. I am not only an accomplished mage and a Loremaster, but also a novice priestess of Mystra. I am also a drow. An albino, to be precise. Born and raised in the Underdark, but fortunately never indoctrinated in the Spider Queen's madness." She holds up a hand, anticipating skepticism or an outburst of defiance. "High Lady Alustriel has approved my status, and you know that her trust is not given lightly. But if you require it of me, I will submit to whatever test you might wish to ascertain the validity of my assertions." |
| Vashano Aermane12-01-03, 12:10 PM | After much awkward movement through the halls, stairwells, and tripping over his own limbs...he made his way to the Arms-Major's office, Taeleraed Saahdel. Another one was in here...he could smell it just as a faint breeze changed...a cursed elf. Giving his race's form of a smirk, he simply stepped into the man's office if no receptionist or guard stops him. If he must wait...he doesn't sit, or seem able to. He still seemed to be a large, heavy figure covered entirely by cloak, the occaisonal glint of bluish green granted to observers. |
| Taeleraed_Saahdel12-01-03, 01:59 PM | Tae raised his eyebrows and grinned ever-so mischeivously as a bucket of water, that had rested so quietly for so long, plummeted down onto the massive form of Vashano Aermane. Oh, you moved my bucket! And I had just found a good place for it! I'd much appreciate it if you put it back where you got it, I must visit an old friend of mine. The bucket was meant for him, after all. With that, Tae stood up from his seat, grabbed a bottle of warmed hard cider from his desk drawer, strode out of the room with barely a wink from the new stranger... ...As he approached the door to Aravilar's office, Tae detected elven voices coming from within. "This seedling is called Hope. I come to you, seeking a plot in which to plant it. The two groups currently share a common enemy. Perhaps they also share a common ideology, but that is yet to be determined. For the present, a temporary alliance would be of mutual advantage." All the better he has a visitor, Tae thought to himself, a joke is only funny if there are more than two people involved. Just then Tae threw open the creaking door, and thrust is open hand toward Aravilar. We need glasses, Aravilar! I have cider, and a story to tell! A hard glare hinted with the ghost of a smile from Aravilar told Tae that the Archmage was busy. Oh! Hello! Tae turned to Aravilar's guest,Care for some cider? It's got alcohol in it...but we need glasses to drink it from, unless of course you prefer straight out of the bottle, such as myself. Great speech by the way, Arav let's toast to it! Tae threw the stopper on the floor and hurried to Aravilar's desk to find any drinking devices. The guests are piling up outside, Arav, would you like me to show them off? |
| Ssussunriyh12-01-03, 02:12 PM | In LotR, at the "secret meeting" in Rivendell, remember Elrond's expression when the hobbits come swarming out of the bushes? Bianca's expression is identical to his: a mixture of surprise, disbelief, and contempt. "No thank you," she replies icily. She gives Aravilar a sidelong glance... |
| Frostmourne12-01-03, 05:44 PM | "This is an interesting place," Frostmourne mused to himself as he entered Berdusk. He strode down the main rode, heading towards Twilight Hall. His clothes were sky blue with green trim, and he carried his lifes possesions with him; a backpack filled with an assortment of travelling gear, a longsword strapped to his side, a longbow slung across his sholder, and his lute. As he strode into Twilight Hall he took a moment to take in his surrondings. After a moment, he began to wander around the hall, talking to anyone who seemed to have a moment to spare. During his conversations he heard about Aravilar's speech earlier and where he could find his office. As he made his way to Aravilar's office, he marveled at the graduer of Twilight Hall. He reached Aravilar's office, but as he was about to enter he heard several voices from inside. Not wanting to intrude, he took a seat outside and waited. |

All of you will be in it! Please put a suitable episode name in the title box for all of your posts from now on... Thanks, Aravilar. @Tae: Good work with your character! Also, good portrayal of Aravilar!!!!!)) "I have glasses, Tae... Hold on," Aravilar said, almost bursting with laughter. The Chosen of Corellon Latherian, Taeleraed Saahdel, looked up from Aravilar's desk drawers mischieviously and laughed. The tray of glasses appeared on Aravilar's desk, and Taeleraed began to fill them with warm cider. Aravilar laughed out loud at Bianca's expression. He continued: "I don't know if an open alliance versus the Lolth-worshipers is in our best interests.... If this alliance were secret, I could see its benefits. What do you think, Tae?" Aravilar asked, turning to the jovial elf. Besides being the Chosen of Corellon, Taeleraed was also the second-in-command of the Harper organization, and the arms-major of the organization. He was also the captain of all the Harper forces in Berdusk. Aravilar watched as Taeleraed gulped down the cider, and poured another glass. "Care for some cider, Aravilar?" the liveried elf said. "Perhaps another time, Tae. What can you tell me about the current condition of our forces? How thin are we spread? "I know we have most of our agents working the Dalelands as the moment, and we have some in reserve here at the base, but how many could we actually spare in the Underdark? Anglar has gone ahead and scouted out the possibility of a dark mythal in the making, and he's not taken anyone with him," Aravilar explained. Taeleraed looked at Aravilar over his glass of cider before speaking again. |

Quigley Lady Hoot noticed as they had come in to this citadel of the Harpers. That an Tavern & Inn lay just outside the gates, in fact it had a perfect view; of everyone coming and going from the Harper hold. “What’s that Hoot? Yes I saw it, I am sure Aravilar is aware of that as well. Most likely he choose to have the Inn so close to the Harpers, so that he could keep and eye on his enemies; who came to spy on the Harpers from there.” Lady Hoot added her own bit of wisdom. “ In other words, an obvious spot that would be too hard, for most interlopers to pass up.” Agudo chuckled “Your wisdom is true my friend, I am sure half the workers are Harpers themselves, spying on the spy’s “ With that they walked outside of the hold and across the street to the Tavern & Inn. As they entered they saw dozens of people of varies races, enjoying themselves with good food and drinks. |

| aravilar_holistacia12-02-03, 12:26 AM | "Fine then. I agree with you in your offer. When you do wish to begin?" Aravilar turned to the Lady. "I must remind you, time is limited. If you wish for this to be a success, we must make preparations immediately.... Seek out the priests of Oghma, in their library tower. They will provide you with a Harper pin "Keep it secret. Keep it safe," said Aravilar. ((nod to LOTR)) "I can tell you you will need it in the days to come." Aravilar nodded and said, "I wish you good luck. "I thank you for your time. Good day." She bows and departs, heading for the tower of Oghma... |

| Silmarien Aldalome12-02-03, 08:09 PM | A Chorus of Voices suddenly fills the airs - it is all about you - and while clearly Elvish - you also hear it is imbued with a Human passion very distinct to the gentler tones of Elf. Arrival Now from Far Hallowed Realm Within your Halls and Voice of Tomes Look this way here and see my eyes They stare at you with warm surprise There is a flash of blue - and a robed woman materialises before you. You recognise her characteristic features immediately - blue and silver robes - heavily runed along the hems with Mithril. She has silver hair, warm green eyes. She strikes her staff heel on the floor - a thunder clap resounds through the halls. "Greetings Fellow Harpers  Anglar's mission to scout the Dark Mythal? Is there any news? But, I have dire news also - for the Drow prepare a second Mythal - I have seen it in my dreams - and all about the lands are ruined and barren as the people die of poisoned ash....." She trails off into silence, and stares around the halls - holding your gaze one by one, with a firm but gentle gaze. She adds "I come from Half-Elven Halls (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=857238#post857238) - where the Half-Elves gather - "Ssussunriyh - hast thou news of Waterdeep?" "Avarilar - what is your purpose, and where is Anglar? His hair is now short and blond! What does this change mean?" |

Do they have the slightest idea of the ramifications of that which they propose to do? Doubtful. They rarely have the sense to look more than two paces in front of where they are heading." Anglar then bumps into the hand-maiden, Silimna. "My apologies. I was lost in thought and did not see you there." Anglar siddles by. |

His smile fades to a contemplative and somber expression, and all light in the Jester's Cerulean blue eyes dissappeares as he faces his old friend Aravilar, I can, if need be, gather what Harpers we have in the Silver Marches to strengthen the numbers outside the entrances to the Underdark. But the drow attack on Mithral Hall has already begun, and King Bruenar Battlehammer will not permit the High Lady Alustriel to send him any reinforcements, no matter how dire the need. It’s the classic place to sit and watch the Harper Hall.” Lady Hoot flew over to him, after she gave the bartender their order to bring to them. “Did you see the Red wizard, by the door, just looking at everyone who comes in. She barely touches her drink.” Agudo nodded his head, and smiles, as he takes out his corncob pipe and lights it. “Yes my friend it seems half the spies in the realm have come to watch the opening of the Harper hall” Agudo takes a few puffs of the sweet smelling pipe, that reminded people of warm apple cinnamon. “Look at that Halfling, she doesn’t even hide the fact that she is from Zhentil Keep. Her emblem of a diplomat, as a Zhentil, is proudly shown on her sleeve.” Lady Hoot pondered, the ramifications of such open evil, coming here. “She is here to see the Harpers, probably to work out some kind of deal. Most likely the Halfling is being open about her allegiants do to the fact the Harpers are being open as well.” Just then a fat rotund barkeep, came up and placed the drinks of Elvin Sweet Water on the table. |

"We are truly going to need your hilarity in the coming weeks." He noticed that yet another visitor was outside his door. "Come," called Aravilar. Hearing Aravilar call him into the office, Frostmourne gathered his belongings and entered the room. As he entered the room he looked it over, admiring the furnishings. He thought for a moment to take a seat, but decided instead to stand. He stood there for a moment, composing his thoughts before speaking. "I have heard many tales of the Harpers, how they champion the cause of good. I have heard that Harpers free the enslaved and downtrodden, bring knowledege and enlightnment to those they can, encourage cooperation and tolerance between the races, and prevent groups from enacting evil plans whenever they can. I feel that my life up to this point has had little impact on the world. I'm a bard and though I have brought cheer to some people, it is fleeting and has no lasting impact on the world. I feel that by joining the Harpers I may make a differance in the world." Once he was finished he looked to see what Aravilar's reaction was and noticed he was looking at him a little curiosly. Frostmourne wondered why that was, and then realized what it was. Frostmourne was almost completly white, he could have been mistaken for an albino. "Oh," Frostmourne exclaimed," you're curious about my skin coloration, aren't you?" Even though this had happened countless times, it still took him by surprise. "The reason I'm this way," Frostmourne began to explain, "is that for over a decade, I lived complelty in the Underdark. My time there gave me this complextion. Also my eyes grew accustumed to the low light levels, allowing me to see farther in low light then most humans, though this isn't evident through my appearence." Frostmourne paused for a minute and took a deep breath, "If you wish to know why I lived in the Underdark for so long I will tell you, but that time holds many painful memories for me and I do not enjoy reliving them." With that Frostmourne stopped talking and awaited Aravilar's reply. |
| aravilar_holistacia12-03-03, 08:51 PM | Aravilar said to Tae, "I have a feeling this Drow attack on the halls of the dwarves could perhaps be a diversion, to draw us away from the shadow mythal... But we cannot sit around while the Drow assail Mithril Hall. Here's the plan:" Aravilar gestured to the world-window, which swirled about before forming a clear picture of the Silver Marches. A drow army was marching towards gods-know-what, and several scouts of Silverymoon rode upon winged beasts. They were quite apparently gathering information about the Drow invasion force. "Anglar will be reporting in to us within the next twelve bells. Currently, he is at the site of the shadow mythal. We will know more, obviously, when he returns. "Lady Bianca, as you know, just left to investigate further the Drow mythal. "The Lord Gellion has gone undercover at an undisclosed location, and I hope to hear back from him quite soon. "Lady Silmarien is actually downstairs, in the guildhall. I do not know what she plans to do next, although I beseech Tymora she will hurry her plans up. Anglar did say something about a handmaiden... Silimna, I believe? Perhaps we may have a contact of Silmarien's kin? "Agudo, who has recently joined us, is actually our unsuspecting spy in that new tavern just outside the fortress gates. He will be reporting to us soon about the condition of our opening here in Berdusk. "All of these Harpers are currently our sources of information in the field, with many more people in the field who have not reported in yet. We should wait until the Lord Anglar's report before we gather any kind of strategic forces together," Aravilar explained. "However, the does not stop us from gathering as many Harpers as we can here at Twilight Hall. The more the merrier, I suppose, and the more Harpers we have here, the less will be rogue agents." Aravilar turned to Frostmourne. "Your past is your own, good sir. However.... You say you lived in the Underdark? Pray tell, do you know any Undercommon? We will be needing someone to teach our Harpers the language of the Underdark, soon, I fear." Aravilar drained his glass of cider. "The Drow have gone too far, I fear," he said. Turning back to Tae, he muttered, "I suggest you get some sleep. Your office and private chambers are situated atop Corellon's Tower. I suggest you make use of them... Perhaps there will not be a free sunrise tomorrow morn..." Aravilar explained before Tae could comment. "I will have to travel to Silverymoon tonight. I suppose you could hold down the base while I am gone? I must pay my respects to Lady Alustriel and see what we can do about Bruenor..." He turned back to Frostmourne. "If the Lord Taeleraed would be so kind, I'm sure we could find you a room for the night. Tomorrow will probably be the day we all will feel the pain of the dwarves..." |

As he walks his left foot seems to ceress the floor as it limps and he just barly remebered to put his dragging sword away before it marked up the floor, anymore. The ranger walks very slowly, never bumping into anything as a drunk man would but would look very dazed like one when presented with a pair of doors. Reguardless he seemed to know where he was going was he slowly limped over to the house cleric. Listening closer it seems that the sword is speaking...although it is a strange toung it does sound comferting. Most "regulars" to this "Harper Inn" would reconise the blade as Shiver the intelgent blade of the north and while not being one of the strongest of his blades it is a heriloom of the frostbite-Ravenheart familly. | Agudo Archmage12-04-03, 09:10 AM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley The Red Wizard stirred as she saw the Archmage of Light. By magic two mages can always tell each other’s level of power. She is what some would call a Grand-Wizard, more powerful than an ordinary wizard. But not as powerful as Archmage…. at least not yet…..so she hoped. The Red Wizard decided to vacate her table, and walked over to Agudo. Without asking she set herself and ignored the bird, but stared at the Light mage, for along time. Agudo was not impressed by her evil manipulative ways. He locked eyes on her and did not blink, not once in three and half minutes that they looked at each other. Some in the near by tables, were watching the goings on of the wizards. People always feared wizards and often showed respect because of it. Yet they were afraid of something bad happing when they were near. One Gnome asked, a Dwarven woman friend, was this some type of magic dual. But before the Dwarf could answer, the Red Wizard screamed in anger. “Damn thee Agudo!” She said as she rub her eyes, brushing the tears away. Agudo chuckled, and blinked. “So the staring contest is over” He laughed some more. The Red Wizard slammed her hand on the table, nearly knocking off the cups. “Your so childish, I cant believe you would play such a moronic game!” Lady Hoot spoke up at that moment. “The Red Wizards have one flaw, that being their ego. Agudo was only showing, everyone how easily you can be manipulated, by your own attitudes.” Agudo nodded his head. “You see…um..Well you know my name, may I know yours?” She looks at him and almost spits., but thinks better of it. “Edwina” The Archmage of Light smiles and continues. “You see, It’s been my experience that Red Wizards will not back down. No matter how obvious a challenge is. Do to your kinds belief, that you’re magic id better than everyone else. That’s why I didn’t blink when you said nothing, but just looked at me.” He pauses before going on. ” I just knew you couldn’t resist a challenge.” Agudo takes a sip of his drink. “Did you say….Edwina?”……..Snicker, snort…. ”Edwin Odesseiron, the man! I take it that the Netheral scroll had some long term side effects.” Lady Hoot smiled at the memory, when Edwin had used that dangerouse spell scroll Cernd practically begged Edwin for a kiss, all in jest of course. The Red Wizard, waved his/her hands to shush Agudo “Please we don’t need to go down memory lane. Its bad enough I have to talk to you simonies monkeys….. let alone be laughed at! Besides its only temporary, it happens once a month then I am back to my manly self.” Agudo took a bite of cheese then spoke with the obvious question. “So what brings you here Edw..Edwina?” Edwina frowned “The same reason every person is here, in this flea bitten tavern; to find out why the Harpers are coming out into the open.” Lady Hoot called over the barmaid an order a drink for Edwina. She/he looked at the drink and waved it away. “Cant you send the snow ball away?” Agudo handed a message to Hoot that he had written earlier. “It so happens that she does have something better to do than to laugh…I mean talk to you.” With that Lady Hoot flew out the open window an into the tower of the Harpers. She left the message on Aravilar desk. The note basically said what Agudo and Hoot had seen so far in the tavern. Dealing with Edwina and who she/he really is, and why the Red Wizard was here. Also the Zhentil agent who has yet to talk with Harpers, may have some important deal . ((OOC Baldurs Gate fans, should know Edwin :D )) |

You must be weary after such travel...Taeleraed takes him down the steps of Mystra's tower into the promenade, and soon notices the gloom expression upon Frostmourne's face. Do not look so troubled, Lord Frostmourne, we must remember that no matter how dark the times grow, and no matter how black the clouds loom overhead, that life is a hope within itself that shines brighter than all of the terrible days of the world. Aravilar will return, although he goes to the north to face all the rallied forces of destruction in the realms, he shall not falter. There is a great weight being brought down upon his mind. He sends away to Silverymoon, to possibly assist the beleaugered Dwarves. The stairs open to the commons of the Twilight Hall, and as Tae and Frostmourne decend down the steps, a battered and blleding half-elf throws open the doors, and stammers into the chamber. I bring warning, to thy Lord Aravilar... He stumbles over the words, and collopses on the tower's marble floor. Someone get this lad a healer!Tae shouts out as he runs toward the young Ravenheart. Once he has enough room, Frostmourne kneels next to Halreth and touches the wand to Halreth. "Heal," Frostmourne whispers, activating the wand. Immediatly Halreth begins to show improvement: his breating eases and some of the bleeding stops. Though he is not completly healed, Halreth appears to be much better and past the worst of his wounds. |
| Taeleraed_Saahdel12-04-03, 02:44 PM | Tae lifts the half-elf into his arms, and feels his arms strain under the weight of the half-bloods limp body... this child needs more assistance than any mere wand can attend to. We must get him to the Hospitaler. Lady Fairhands may have the necessary medicine to cure what ails the lad. Tae hefts the boy up to support him, straining again under the relatively light weight. As they ascend the steps, Tae calls out ahead of him. My lady, I hate to disturb you during your supper, but your assistance would be appreciated in this instance. What is it now, Master Taeleraed, did you scrape your knee again?A melodic voice called out from behind the door. I'm not here to kiss it and make it all better, Taeleraed, and besides, you're a married man...Oh by Tymora's smile! Who is this, what happened to the poor boy?The lady opened the door, and was shocked to see Tae holding the young messenger. Hate to dissapoint you my lady, but the kiss is not for me. Would you mind? The boy is quite heavy.Frostmourne and Lady Fairhands assist Tae, laying Halreth's broken body over the bed, and the Healer began her work.Excuse me boys, but I've work to do. The lad shall be fine when I am through with him. Master Taeleraed, you can show Lord Frostmourne to his chambers now, I bid thee good night. |

| anglar12-04-03, 07:43 PM | "Aravilar. Dark Mythal proceeding on Drow scheduele. Similar to High Elven Mythal, but with Evil twist. Aravilar. Drow using shadow weave as means of power. Lloth's clerics will complete within the next tenday." Anglar looses his trance. The paints smeared on his body and face, yellow, red, and powder blue, are drying and setting into his skin, leaving their hues still visible. Blood drips from the corner of his mouth. His smile widens. Prey is within 1000 feet. This evening, Anlgar plans to add another set of fangs to his necklace. |
| aravilar_holistacia12-05-03, 01:42 AM | Aravilar appeared in a colorful swirl inside the courtyard, three days after his talk with Frostmourne. He cried out, "Lord Taeleraed! To arms, to arms! Summon my high council, and to arms!" Aravilar looked around, shouting orders. "You there, arms-captain! Your name is Claudis, correct? Lower the gates, and make ready the ballistae!" "Yes, spell-major!" cried the liveried Harper, who ran off into the fortress walls, shouting orders to the assembled soldiers. Aravilar cast another spell, and his voice was magically projected to all within the base, as well as those inside the inn. "To arms, Harpers, to arms! The Drow have compromised our plans! To arms and to spells, Harpers!" Hearing this, all of the mage's Harpers began to assemble in the courtyard. They fell in, with Aravilar at their head. "Hold here! Mages, defense plan one!" Hearing these orders, the assembled Harper mages cast several abjurations about the fortress. In a matter of minutes, a pale white light shone about the courtyard, a testament to the mages' spells. "Spell-captains and arms-captains, front and center!" Aravilar called. The men and women called approached Aravilar, and Aravilar called out, "Harpers, attention!" The assembled Harpers did so. Aravilar conferred with the assembled captains, and after five minutes, the captains saluted and stepped back, shouting orders to the Harpers. Their units stood ready, awaiting Aravilar's call. Aravilar gestured to the Harper Herald, who blew a six note bar on his bugle. "Harpers, attention!" He turned to the captains. "Arms-captains and Spell-captains! Bring your units to attention, and present arms!" The captains shouted, "Present, Arms!" The collected Harpers came to a salute. Aravilar called, "Harpers! Order, arms! Captains, at your discretion, bring your units to base defense!" The captains saluted, and faced their units. Shouting orders, the captains had their units disperse. Aravilar called out, Arms-Major Taeleraed, post! High Archmage Agudo, post! High Harper Gellion, post!" Aravilar awaited the arrival of said Harpers, and as he finished his speech, the first shadow spell hit the base's proto-Mythal. Aravilar winced in true pain, as his life force was the Mythal's energy source. Aravilar, in his painful state, collapsed to one knee. His magically-enhanced voice cried out one last time... This time, it was laced with anger: "Harpers, this is our moment of truth! Defend the fortress of Twilight!" Aravilar collapsed to both knees as three more shadow spells hit the white Mythal. Red tears of blood lashed out from his eyes, and he began to glow with a fiery light. The spellfire within was his driving force, and that force was becoming very angry, indeed. ((OOC: This is going to be fun, I tell you! Hopefully, we can draw out this siege of the fortress, and perhaps Anglar can retreat from the Underdark to aid us... Would anyone like to RP the Drow leaders? BTW, Tae, Agudo, and Gellion, please PM me so we can begin to plan the battles.)) |
| Ssussunriyh12-05-03, 06:57 AM | Bianca stood silently by and watched the spectacle with slight disdain. . o O (Why all this shouting, bugling, and saluting? I heard the call to arms the first time, no need to repeat onesself endlessly... The Spider-Kissers, if they're watching, are probably laughing themselves silly at this bunch running around like a chicken with its head cut off...) |
| Taeleraed_Saahdel12-05-03, 01:04 PM | To Frostbite: Lady Firehair is an NPC I developed on the spot as a healer for the hall...Nothing special. The dark elf grinned as the pitch wave of shadow magic plummeted into the luminescent hemisphere surrounding the Twilight Hall The Hall shall fall tonight...their leader, their root of power weakens...the fools shall see their doom this eve. Lolth smiles on us...He turns to the lady priest. Send out the host... Waves of drow poured from the rift in the surface that led to the underdark, and all faced the Twilight Hall. Tae ran to the outer wall, taking with him all the archers he could muster, and set up row upon row of skilled Elven and Human warriors. They will come swiftly, and they will come hard. Exploit all the weaknesses you would find in your Elven kin. We will push them back to the shadow from whence they came.Tae drew a long, silver arrow from the magical quiver along his back, and as it was knocked in his Oathbow, the arrowhead glowed a faint silver blue, and sparked with electricity. Aim for the groin, my brethren, the GROIN!!! |
| Agudo Archmage12-05-03, 01:12 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley The alarms were sounding at the Harper Hall fortress, people in the tavern knocked over drinks and each other; as they rushed to the windows, to see what was happening. Edwina-Edwin, She/he laughed for once at the sight. “Finally some action around here, I grow tired of these bug bitten rats chasing cheeses threw a maze. The Archmage of Light ignores Edwina and stands quickly. He hears Aravilar magical call to arms, and hurries to the door. He stops long enough to look at ((Mr.Waesel)) Agudo puts his hand on the young adventures shoulder. “Well young man…You wanted the Harpers, they could use all the help they can get right now.” With that the Archmage of Light, was out the door and into the street. Lady Hoot rested on his shoulder preparing for battle. The gates had been closed and the woman and men, guarding the place were running everywhere. Dark magic could be felt, slamming into the battlements. It was obvious to any magic user that this was not to damage the walls. But to hurt those who had magical energies…. from Wizards, Clerics, Druids…and so on. Agudo steadied himself, from the first onslaught of dark magic. As an Archmage of Light, one does not get that title, without lots of training in countering the effect of this vile evil magic. Never the less, it took its toll on Agudo, he held on to his staff to balance himself. “By all that is Light, I deny your victory dark ones.” Agudo prays for strength to the Light and get it, without delay. The dark magic effects are lessoned on him and he walks to the gate. “What do you think Lady Hoot, the Harpers wont open the gate. Do to the battle taking place, and the anti-teleportation magic placed by the battle wizards, also stops us from jumping in.” The wise white owl thought for a moment, then spoke. “Aravilar voice was heard by magic, if that can get out… then that is his secrets key for us.” Agudo smiled and nodded his’ “Yes your right, he has told us the code to get in… we just have to lock onto his magical call.” Agudo closed his eyes ,and reached out for the different wavelengths of magic. Wizards were famous for high intelligent, this was why they needed it. Magic was like a complex math, of energies. Any wrong calculations could have disastrous effects. “I think I got it!, it dangerous., not something I would use. But Aravilar is a Harpers and they are famous for their schemes.” He takes out some Pixie dust and throws it into the air, he then casts shocking grasp and sticks his hands into the dust storm. With a flash of electrical charge, Agudo and Hoot were on the other side of the wall. “We did it Hoot!” Agudo said this as he put out a few fires, that had caught onto his robes, form such dangerous teleportation magic. Lady Hoot did not respond, she flew over to Aravilar and casts (Spiritual Strength)…. Giving Aravilar the inner strength to withstand great hardship. Agudo rushed to his side and took hold of Ararvilar. “My friend, the Light is with us! We shall vanquish the darkness. Can you stand Ararvilar?” |
| aravilar_holistacia12-05-03, 01:56 PM | "As the battle began, the Lord Aravilar Holistacia cried tears of blood... Those tears he shed upon the light-drenched soil inside Twilight Hall still stain the grounds today." --Authein Halreth, in the Year of Yearning Blossoms (1395 DR) Aravilar rose to his feet, aided by Agudo. "Thank you, headmaster. Thank you, wise one," he added to Lady Hoot. Another few spells hit the proto-Mythal, although Aravilar could withstand the pain this time. "I have summoned you here, headmaster, so that we may deter the drow attacks... We need to quell their shadow castings. However, we in the Harpers have no Shadow Mages to do so! Curse the damn Lolth-worshipers!" Aravilar looked around, and seeing Taeleraed upon the battlements, he called out, "Taeleraed! Hold them at as far a distance as you can!" The arms-major nodded before loosing another arrow. Aravilar turned to the headmaster once more. "We must away to Mystra's Tower... At its top lies a mythallar. We can power the Mythal with such, if the Drow do not hit that tower with their spells." Aravilar cast a teleportation circle, and the headmaster, Lady Hoot, and himself were whisked away into Mystra's Tower. "Here is the mythallar, headmaster," Aravilar said, pointing to the spherical, whirling dome. Aravilar began to pour spellfire into the thirsty machine, and Aravilar said, "The more powerful the spells we give the machine to work with, the better protected we will be, headmaster." |
| Ssussunriyh12-05-03, 02:26 PM | Bianca made her way to the outer wall. Along the way, she snagged a grey cloak that someone had left hanging up. It would help reduce her chance of being spotted by the enemy in her brilliant white robes. She'd return it to its rightful owner after the battle - assuming that the borrower and the unknowing lender both survived... She spotted Tae atop the wall, and moved to a place where he might catch sight of her, as well. Surveying the scene, she noted one place where the archers' overlaping fields of fire were spread rather thin. Taking a lodestone from her pocket, she chanted an arcane incantation, and hurled the lodestone into the air, whereupon it vanished. A large circular area in the middle of the weak spot glowed briefly with arcane light. The drow warriors who occupied the spot suddenly staggered and collapsed, unable to do more than drag themselves across the ground inches at a time. Bianca nodded in satisfaction, and called to Tae. "Gravitic Burst. Anyone who enters that circle will collapse under his own increased weight. Stationary targets are always easier to hit. It should last the duration of the battle, unless their mages can dispell it." |
| Agudo Archmage12-05-03, 03:01 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley When Aravilar sent them to the wizards tower, Agudo was surprised at the sight of a Mythal. “I say Aravilar and I thought I had a collection of rare artifacts, when this is over you must tell me how you came upon this.” He starts following the other Archmage lead, and casts powerful magic. Anyone watching can see Agudo has chosen –Pure Light- to cast into the Mythal. Lady Hoot prayed and for –Curse- to be used in the artifact. |
| Taeleraed_Saahdel12-05-03, 04:01 PM | "Gravitic Burst. Anyone who enters that circle will collapse under his own increased weight. Stationary targets are always easier to hit. It should last the duration of the battle, unless their mages can dispell it." Tae reveals his teeth as he smiles at Bianca, and turns toward the drow rushing headlong at the Towers walls. Loosing another volley, he brings a blade barrier up around one of the drow, a wizard and watched with relief as the mage's spells failed, for the many dancing swords cut into the wizard's frail body. That'll buy us some time, for now. But I like that spell, what'd you call it? Gravitic Burst? Crushing them under their own weight. I prefer the more subtle approach, myself... With that, Tae loosed one more arrow into the the eye of the drow. |
| Frostmourne12-05-03, 04:01 PM | Frostmourne was jolted awake by the call to arms. He immediatly prepared for battle: donning his armor, belting on his sword, grabbing his longbow and quiver, and he retived his wand of cure light wounds to give what aid he could to those that would inevitably get wounded. Once he was ready he rushed out of his room. Before going to the courtyard to, he went to the armory to pick a few more arrows, he knew he could use all he could get. When he reached the courtyard he arrived just as Aravilar and Agudo teleported away. He ran to the battlements, and when he got atop them he surveyed the battle. Hordes of drow were rushing towards Twilight Hall and it was diificult for him to judge were he should go. He noticed Taeleraed and decided he would take up position next to him. Taeleraed gave him a sense of hope, that things might work out for the best and he knew he would need that comfort if he was to get through the battle. He took position and began to fire into the sea of drow. Frostmourne felt that he should sing one of the songs he had picked up as a bard to help pick up the spirits of everyone around him. He began to sing a dwarven battle song he knew, hoping to lift the spirits of his comrades. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart12-05-03, 09:20 PM | OOC: I will volunteer to be a drow leader, and I wont metagame. However I will need a little know of your battle planes :D. Hmm...I shall be one of the High Rankers...one of the rare high rankers who have come to oversee the battle since it shall be a great one. Well prehaps not being highest in the ranking system (if your playing the male/female thing) he is well respected for occasionally charging into battle and his massive greatsword on his back. PM me the battle information and I will start roleplaying him immeditly. Until then... IC: With the call of avaliar, Halreth regains full control over himself again. With a slight grin he looks at the lady then charges off. Halreth was upset. He had naught to yet deliver his message, what if the drow were working with the new evil in the north? At least, once they know they both hate the harpers and seek to destroy the twilight halls...they might ally. Halreth was also dazed, like a half-orc in a gold elf city. He was more used to being in charge of a fleet of stealthy guerrilas tracking evil in the woods or large scale campaions against the minions in the spine of the world. He hated this...this city-like, walled, loud fortress were he would be forced to take orders simply beacuse he was so used to this...castle seige battle. AND THE MAGIC! It overwelmed him. Of course he was used to magic, his own outlaws and there elven friend had great magic...he had even seen high elven magic on many occasions. However this was not gracefull high elven magic, it was like thousand of shooting stars falling right attop of his mortal body. AND THE SOUND....all the racket...but then Halreth stoped and took a deep breath then ran off to find avaliar and deliver the message so he will be prepared to fight the evil incase it comes after the drow...or at least take battle orders. OOC: BTW can you guys describe twilight halls? Is it the same harper halls in the 2ed edition fr harper book called The harper code? I dont really know wether there are castle like walls for me to jump on or what so I'm kinda at a loss. Feel free to PM me if you dont want to take up room :P. |
| Gellion12-05-03, 09:25 PM | "I wanted to talk to Aravilar, but under the current circumstances, that does not seem possible." I will help the Harpers as much as i can." Gellion then casts a spell that opens a magical gate, out from it come creatures byeond time and space, creatures that are not bound by the laws of the multiverse. When you see these creatures, your very inner-being is disturbed. Gellion casts a spell, and you feel more at ease, but the creatures still disturb you. Gellion then orders the creatures to attack the Drow. He watches as some Drow's psyches shatter upon seeing these creatures, one starts yelling "I SEE I SEE!!! I SEE!!!!." Before stabbing himself with his weapon, several other Drow have suffered a similar fate as well. More creature continue to pour from the gate. |
| aravilar_holistacia12-05-03, 11:04 PM | After the mythallar was gleaming with energy, Aravilar and Agudo transported it onto the top of Mystra's Tower. "Now we can rest... This mythallar was built by Netheril. They did not create their power sources cheaply." Aravilar teleported back to the battlements, leaving Agudo to tend the mythallar. "Taeleraed!" called Aravilar. The arms-major looked up from the battlefield, and his elven ears twitched. "Watch this," Aravilar said with a toothy grin. Aravilar said several untranslatable Elven words, and out of the black sky came golden bolts of light, streaking down from the heavens. "Corellon's Bolts!" cried Tae. The golden energies smashed into the Drow lines, taking down their spell-protections and disintegrating their warriors. Aravilar whispered some more powerful words, words that had not been spoken in millenia. A stream of blue energy settled over the Drow front lines, and the Drow stopped in their tracks. They began to fight one another, and as they were obsessed with each others' deaths, Tae's archers fired uncountable arrows into the confused drow. Aravilar laughed, and teleported away, away to find Halreth. OOC: The Twilight Hall described here is a complete figment of my imagination. Having not read any information regarding it, I cannot say how it is different from the books. Right now, however, there are two concentric walls surrounding a central courtyard, which has five towers located within. As for the Drow campaign, I think there should be a traitor on the inside who will sabotage the mythallar and the mythal. He then would have a Drow commando team attack from within. |
| Gellion12-05-03, 11:15 PM | Gellion orders a regiment of his forces to attack. The creatures begin jumping on many Drow's faces, they then crawl down their throat. The Drow who were attacked then turn on their own forces and begin attacking them. |
| Agudo Archmage12-05-03, 11:25 PM | http://www.members.shaw.ca/gordquigley/pictures/portlongagudo.gif Artwork copyright © 2003, Gordon R. Quigley With the Elvin Archmage gone, Agudo tended to the relic Casting protection spells and enchantments, to enhance it. “As you can see Lady Hoot the magical energies flow freely, when combined with molten silver and methane gases, trapped in stases. If you look closely you can see…….” The Archmage of Light continued his conversation, with his owl friend. Not knowing that someone else was sneaking about. |
| Frostbite_Ravenheart12-06-03, 09:31 PM | Halreth: Halreth continues for a while to shoot apon the walls. One arrow at a time, one drow at a time. Even if to the eye it seems like he is attacking a little slower then prehaps some of the other archers, he also drops his kills, he also hits the neck. After about a minute of firing Halreth relizes he could be more use then just another archer, even if a very good one. Halreth activated his magically enchanted elven boots that not only made him quite but made him swift and fast. After mentally activiating the boots he jumped over the wall and dashed past the army as fast he could carefull only to shoot those in his way, trying not to gather more attention or seem like a threat. Finnally he got to where one of the noble drow leaders were acompanied by the major of the spell casting force. "Damn" he thought to himself...I might get my ass scorched but at least if they fire at me they might hit a large number of drow". Then Halreth Stoped moving and wated for mages to move. Drow Commander: "HA!" Laughed the Drow Noble. "The Heir of Frostbite and Halreth the first, just waiting for us to attack him? This is one of the men that Dalgaroth has been wanting to kill forever...not to mention the number of drow hes upset...he must be up to somthing...this just...dosent seem right..." The other Spellcasters that were with him all glanced back and fourth at eachother, smiling, then looked to there commander for there orders. "Capture him!" Said the drow noble. Then Halreth only smiled and put his hands into his pockets. "HE MOCKS US! CAPTURE HIM AT ONCE AND DO NOT HARM HIM! I would very much like to speak with one of the slayers of Dalgaroth!". Then one cleric...oddly a male...without any indication of casting a spell sent a small, green, eletric looking snake at Halreth. Halreth then taking his hands out of his pocket through what would appear to be a marbel at the snake. The marbel and the snake collided into one big glowing marbel. The now-glowing marbel just stood there for a second. A very aqward second where one the wizards, after looking at Halreths growing smile said "GET DOWN!" And sure enough after that the marbel exploded into a five-second tornado of fire, killing several of the spell casters. But where was the ranger thought the drow commander? But before he could finish his thoughts the ranger was already heading back, still shooting at the spellcasters that were next to the dead ones. Dead not by the flames but by the arrows of the ranger just seconds before the explosion was wrought and he took off firing and running. "DAMNIT! Thought the Drow commander. "This hurts my numbers greatly I do not know If I shall beable to attack the halls as I have been planning...prehaps a change of planes is in order" Smiled the drow commander as he looked at the dead drow and thought that they helped him even in there deaths. |
| Gellion12-06-03, 09:52 PM | More creature continue to come forth from the gate. A large beam comes from inside the gate. Hitting, and disintegrating an entire Drow regiment. Several creatures that are cone-like in shape, come out, carrying long metal tube-like devices. Another one fires the its device, killing more Drow. |

| Ssussunriyh12-07-03, 01:22 PM | Bianca suddenly paused, struck by a passing thought - quite literally. Quickly seeking cover from the battle, she allowed her mind to slip into the trance of a magical sending... Elsewhere, a ghostly image of Bianca faded into view before a cloaked and hooded figure seated next to a scrying mirror. Banca's sending bowed and greeted the figure in the drow tongue. "Vendui, my Illharn. Too long have we been apart." The shrouded figure nodded formally and spoke in a rasping whisper. "It is good to see you again my child, in the shadow if not in the flesh. Would that we might engage in further pleasantries, but time is short. The Spider-Kissers have put their plans into motion. Observe..." A skeletal hand wrapped in tatters of petrified flesh gestured at the mirror. The foggy image resolved into a scene of hundreds of drow, their arms raised in supplication, chanting in a fervor. Although muffled and indistinct, their words can be heard... "...stale lembas..." |

In Sshamath, wizardly magic is held in the highest esteem, and no deity is widely venerated. My birth was sometime around the year 1000 by the Dalereckoning calendar. The exact date I do not know, since I was abandoned by my parents and never discovered their identity. An albino child would be a public embarrassment; drow society is obsessed with physical perfection and defective children are usually slain at birth. "I was taken in and raised by Calimar Arkhenneld, also called the Spellbinder, a drow lich who long ago pledged his eternal unlife to serving Mystra, goddess of magic. Early on, I demonstrated an uncanny aptitude for wizardry. I was trained extensively in arcane magic and, though shunned and scorned by my kindred for the color of my skin, earned their grudging respect by my efforts. I graduated with top honors from the Sorcere, then struck out on my own... "My surname "Ssussunriyh" is actually a slur in the drow language, bestowed upon me by my classmates. The nearest equivalent in Common would be "paleface" although it loses much of its venom in translation. I retain the moniker as a gesture of defiance, later adopting the forename "Bianca" when I settled on the surface. "From the very beginning to the most recent past, I have drawn attention from the followers of both Mystra and Eilistraee. The exact reason was never revealed to me, but I presume that all will become known in due course..." |
| Taeleraed_Saahdel12-08-03, 01:24 PM | The arrows blackened the sky as Tae ordered the volleys to be loosed. Again the drow fell, and again they kept coming. The low notes resonating from Frostmoune's dwarven warchant inspired Tae; his arrows landed truer, and his soldiers' arrows struck home. Tae's voice lifted, remembering an elven tune that he thought would compliment the moving tones of the dwarves, and the song that Taeleraed, the Chosen of Corellon Larethian sang intertwined with Frostmourne's melody, and the high and low music was a harmony that has never before been heard. The rhyme came as follows, in Dwarven and Elven, and struck fear into the hearts and minds of the Drow... Steady my hand, soulforger The banished darkness returns No longer shall they spread their torture No longer shall they spread and burn Your hammer shall smite them once more Your bow shall always sing true Your wrath shall come like a storm Your banishment shall once again ensue Bring us valor, Creator Bring us hope, Preserver We dwarves shall hold the line. Elven blades in the light, shall shine |

The exact reason was never revealed to me, but I presume that all will become known in due course..." ...Silmarien's head tilts as she studies the eyes of this Ssussunriyh. When she hears this Albino's tale, the Half-Elf's eyes become wet. These are more than tears - they are Tears of Silverfire. Silmarien communes with Mystra silently. She locks eyes with Sussunriyh - stares straight at you with probing eyes. Silmarien is studying you very closely. "The Shame of the Un-Belonging is not merely a curse. You speak of your colour without seeing its Gift. For you stand before me now, only because your Kin find you repugnant. However, I do not find you so. You are here with me - for a purpose. Allow me to introduce myself  I am Grand-daughter of Bralas - Keeper of Mythal Skybridge. And I am also a Chosen of Mystra - though no Half-Elf before me makes this claim - it is bestowed upon me by Grace. You also bring something here for us - speak this now - we must understand you better. Hurry - time is short - the Dark Elves make Malice - and we do not have much time! HURRY!" |

| Gellion12-09-03, 09:50 PM | Gellion ushers more creatures out of the gate. More of the cone-like creatures with their deasly weapons come out. Another wave of them come out, these ones weilding blades that appear to be made of pure energy. They cut a large swath through the Drow soliders. More of the cone-like creatures disentegrate entire groups of Drow soliders. Then, out of the gate comes many large tentacled masses, they began grabbing many Drow in their tentacles, and begin eating them with their many mouths. Gellion then casts a powerful abjuration spell on himself |

Still - Matron Mother is not yet ready to act on your betrayal." Do not mistake my faith for my loyalty. Long has it been known in the House that Tyr is my patron. The battles between Tyr and Lloth over me are more for their pleasure and pride than for my own sake. Like yourself, we are but puppets for the gods. As for my slapping Matron Mother, it may be one thing for those of Her House to see me do that, but it is wholly another for those of the other Houses to see her in the state of mind she was expressing at that time. I protect that House at all times, from without and within. I wouldn't expect you to know what that means. The House has walls, and someone has to protect those walls. Who's going to do it? You? The truth is, my methods, insolent as they may be, keep that House as First House. If you want it done another way, pick up a weapon and man a post. Otherwise, sleep nicely and quietly under the very blanket of security I provide. I don't want your thanks or your gratitude. I just want you to shut up and let me do my job. I seriously doubt you can weave any spell that I am uncapable of casting myself, but you couldn't wield a sword as well as I. |

For those audacious Drow, he put a bolt of silverfire through their foreheads. He overheard Anglar's speech to a Drow standing near the command tent. "Not sure what he expexts to do from up there, but he may just be getting a better vantage point on the enemy. I hope he sees the flock of beasts coming up on his six." A basket of fresh fruit appears, along with a small table, at his side. A plush chair manifests behind him. He sits down, takes a pear from the basket, and sinks his teeth into it. "Sil, dear, if you like, I believe things may be about to become a bit interesting for those left on the battlefield." Anglar sinks deeper into the chair. The warrior's blood within him burning. "What to do about all those damned vampires?" he broods to himself. |
| Gilithian O'Mar12-12-03, 01:44 AM | senseing the approch of the beasts from behind he looks to see what they are then flys into the sea of drow and begins melee from within them ooc: what were the beasts approching me from behind |
| anglar12-12-03, 02:25 AM | The shining sun does no justice to the beasts soaring through the sky. Drawn by the magnitude of magic and the swell of blood and it drenches the field, one cannot mistake them for what they are: Dragons. But these dragons are unlike any ever seen before on Toril. Their colors seem to shift almost as fast as the eye can register. The are hundreds of them. Almost enough to block out the sun. The raise to a higher elevation, high enough to overlook all, and begin circling in the air. Then, the largest of the magestic beings hovers to the center of the giant circle and truly looks at all who are below. Ooc - This is where I end for tonight.. I need to do a bit of prepping before I bring these babies fully into the fray. |

| Taeleraed_Saahdel12-12-03, 02:59 PM | Tae was running out of arrows...the rain came down hard, and the sun reared its face on the horizon beneath a sliver of storm-clouds. This must end soon, but I am afraid for the lives that may have to end it. Taeleraed began a taunting song, singing intentionaly off-key, and he leaped from the wall of the Keep with a hearty "YIPEE!"into the swarm of drow, drawing his sword. And the harper students cried out in laughter mixed with sorrow, for though their mentor brought them joy and jest in the blackest times, they loved him, and they feared for him as he lept towards certain doom... Tae held his sword before him as a claric bears their holy symbol, and a blinding light emited from the pommel of Taeleraed's Moonblade, blinding the drow. With this, Tae swept their feet from under them, sweeping as easily through flesh and bone as through air and water. The drow fell before him, and it enamoured his students, and soon harpers from all lands and cultures were dropping over the keep, rushing to the side of their General. Tae swung as he strode, each drow trying to reach past Tae's dark brown suit of studded leather, and many clutched their eyes as if blinded behind their eyelids, not blinded by light, but an aura of hope, hope for the harpers, that Taeleraed radiated. And he was pleased to see the battle turn towards the side of good. And he reeled... The Armathor of Arvandor was wounded, as a blade of black slid past the layers of studded leather that covered Tae's form and struck into his flesh. The drow that had dealt the blow grinned to hear the Elf cease his irritating singing. The axe that he swung made its way home, and the filthy wood elf gasped...crimson blood flowed from the wound, and Tae felt his stamina drain from him. The blade was enchanted, and Taeleraed came to realize that the blade would take his life... His students stood in awe, and tears began to flow down their faces. They saw their mentor, their master fall before thier eyes, and the drow rushed them in their shock... Tae fell to his knees as another blade swept into the soft flesh beneath his arm. The General of Twilight Hall, the Chosen of Corellon Larethian saw his apprentices and pupils, many he knew before they could walk, fall to the arms and arrows of the drow. And this sight, of light falling to darkness, drove Taeleraed to anger, and he stood, screaming in rage. His bladed landed clumsily, though still slaying his foes, and a twisted arrow landed into him. Dark and corrupt poison leaked into the open wound in his collar, and still Tae fought. He began to sing again. The words stumbled out past his lips, and the awe and hope they inspired were gone. All that remained was desperation. The ranger and bard of Silverymoon, the Gem of the North, permited a jabber of rhyme to come to the ears of the Drow... "And I fall, I hitting the floor; Know this, Drow if you hadn't know...known before: I will catch you once again, when least expected. And if I fall, others shall be erected. We will fight until the end, and all the dark is gone, I will fight, and die am I to now, if it will right every wrong. I am always here, my friends, and do not f-falter, Taunt them, tease them, show them what for." And Taeleraed Saahdel, the smile of Arvandor, was dead... |
| Gellion12-12-03, 03:53 PM | OOC: Wait a second, are the drow right outside. Or are they in the Underdark? If they are right outside, then i renounce my claim to disregard previous posts. |
| aravilar_holistacia12-12-03, 06:56 PM | Aravilar was blasted with a mind-affecting spell... but a vision of a frowing woman appeared. "What is it, lady Mystra?" Aravilar asked. The woman merely looked away and vanished. Aravilar frowned and said, "Lady Silimna, I shall return. Stay out of danger." Aravilar cast a teleportation spell, appearing upon the blood-soaked fields outside the fortress walls. He looked around and saw Tae's body. "As if this was the least of my worries." Aravilar ran over to the elf's body and said, "You cannot get out of battle so easily, Taeleraed," Aravilar said, and he prayed to Mystra. A soft blue light permeated Tae's body, a resurrecting light. Aravilar hoped this would work. |
| Gilithian O'Mar12-12-03, 07:02 PM | gilithian rather feels more than sees the wood elfs life force leave this plane...this makes him angry and drives him to his fighting perfection... his blood runs warm down from multilple wounds and he does not feel it for he is in a rage... he just keeps fighting, any who see this are mesmorized for he weilds twin bastard swords as easily as twin short swords wreaking havoc... |
| anglar12-12-03, 07:17 PM | Wait for the right moment. There it is. "Click" |
| Gilithian O'Mar12-12-03, 08:03 PM | ooc: is that a drow shooting me gilithian wades past the many fighters he has slain into a barage of spells and darts all that would have stoped a herd of raging elaphants. takeing this in stride he just grows brighter, blinding the dark elves while cutting down those that are close. slowly he comes out of his rage and sees what he has done at that moment he just walks through the drow ranks blank faced back to the wall cutting down any in his path. |
| anglar12-12-03, 09:07 PM | ooc - No, but remember, I'm not Full-blooded Drow. I was just saving a moment I found interesting. TBS :censored: :bored: |
| Gilithian O'Mar12-12-03, 09:41 PM | ooc: fun stuff as gilithian nears the wall he sees a stray vampire and with an outstreched hand it implodes |
| Silmarien Aldalome12-12-03, 10:15 PM | OoC: Apologies for the delay - urgent metaboards activity. Silmarien smiles warmly when she sees Anglar smoking. It looks to you like a lot of Anglar's body paint is missing, or blurred. Then Silmarien surveys the battle scene - as the reality of the situation returns. "What's this - Dragons!" She whispers to herself as her pupils narrow. Silmarien approaches Gilithian - and bows. "Thank you for the time and reprieve. I cannot say I am refreshed - but I have had enough rest to recover my spells" Silmarien has a bright healthy flush to her face as she says this. She has a warm glow about her. Silimna and Silmarien confer quietly with Aravilar OoC: Gellion - the Underdark has the Mythal Casters in a protective mythal, and there are also some Drow on the surface here...... |
| anglar12-12-03, 10:38 PM | Anglar emerges from his MMM with a devilish smirk. There's a bit of a spring in his step as strolls across the battlefield. Every now and then he has to redirect some strikes. He makes his way over to where Silmarien, Silimna, and Aravilar are standing. "You left without having any breakfast, Sil." He hands her a lone long stemmed cherry. "I have to deal with those beasts that lurk near the city of my chrage. I shall return as soon as I can." He kisses Sil lightly, but bring the stem out with him, in a knot. |

| Gilithian O'Mar12-13-03, 01:50 AM | gilithian sits next to the wall looking at nothing except when someone or something hostile comes near then the find themselves imploded... he gets up and goes to find the vimpires, he doesnt feel as bad about killing them... |
| Taeleraed_Saahdel12-15-03, 01:24 PM | Tae's mind drifted, a mind...no longer in his body. What happened? Had he been dreaming? He felt so...light, and so free. Where am I? What is this place...It feels like...home. And so you are, my child.A voice, loud and booming like thunder, but soft and sweet as music. Corellon, Grandfather, what has happened? And Tae turned to face a whirling image of golden hair and silver robes, and luminescent skin. His voice contained fear, and the knowledge that the worst had happened... You fell. You are in The Olympian Glades of Arvandor. You fell fighting the Banished Darkness, and much sadness has reached the Twilight Hall. Many voices reach me, begging your return, but it is not my decision. They call for YOU, Taeleraed, and it is only YOU who can decide whether to return. One such brings all the power he can to revive you, and his voice speaks louder than all the residents of the Harper hold. Your task is not done, my child, the other Chosen are hidden from me. You must find them. For the sake of the Seldarine. Tae came to realize the intensity of the quest he was on. To find the Chosen of all the Seldarine, to uphold the balance of nature and civilization, and to protect the freedom of the individual. He knew he had to rturn, though it tortured him to leave the serenity of this plane so familiar to him. Very well. Good-bye, Grandfather, I look forward to meeting you again... So you are going. Know that I watch you, my child, and I will be here to protect you. There are more who love and need you there than here, so go, and guide the people. With that, Corellon placed his hand over his heart, and bent over to Kiss Taeleraed's forehead... The sounds of battle faded in once more to thunder in his ears, and Tae opened his eyes to see his old friend, Aravilar Holistacia, clutching him in his arms, and whispering quiet prayers to Mystra and Corellon. Why'd you wake me? Tae said, blood and sweat drenching his head. A confused look washed over Aravilar's face at these words. I was having such a good dream...He said wearily, and confusion twisted into a smile on Aravilar, and mourning turned to revelry. We don't sleep, lad, remember? Came the voice of Aravilar. Speak for yourself.Tae, with a smirk, replied. Can you walk? I can try... We got to get you outta here. Carry me? *sigh*Alright. Aravilar cast a spell that lifted Tae from the blood soaked ground and directed him to the medicinal wing of Twilight Hall. After he felt the jester safely on the care of Lady Fairhands, he turned and began another teleportaion spell. Mid-casting, he noticed a fine blade skewered through a Drow warrior, and recognized it as Saahdel (Splintermoon). Tae's Family Moonblade. Hefting it gently away from the drow Carcass, he tied it to his sash. He's not going to want to forget this.He said, and dissappeared... |
| Gilithian O'Mar12-15-03, 02:56 PM | gilithian feel the power as he nears the vampires and subcomciously the light aroud him extinguishes... as he rounds the corner he spots his targets and sences there joy when they see a seemingly helpless wood elf walk towords them...for gilithian can mask his power from all but the most powerful. as gilithian nears the vampires his yells a in aoudible war cry and 5 vampires are felled by a lightning bolt.. gilithian does not see this he is concentrating on a large spell even for him... the sky clears and the stars and moon are now visible the only storm clouds are the deep purple and red ones over gilithian and the vampires... |
| anglar12-17-03, 12:10 AM | In waves of twenty, the dragons begin sweeping the battlefield with their breath weapons. First lines of fire, followed by cones of icy wind, bolts of lightning, and finally clouds of acid and poisonous gases. Even as the dragons get close enough for their weapons to strike, it is hard to determine exactly what type or types of dragon they are. One would almost swear that they are ever changing in colour. These waves continue until four sets have passed. Many of the lesser warriors lay dead from one breath weapon or another. After their passes, the dragons climb back up and begin the circle again around the one giant dragon. |
| Dark Elven Shadow Master12-17-03, 10:41 PM | ***Meanwhile Back at the Ranch*** ...in the depths of the Toril - Matron Mother surveys the Spell Casting of the Dark Mythal. Her eyes are filled with radiant malice - and she has a smirk on her face as she sees the fruition of her labours. Many years of preparation and research. She thinks of Elves perishing under the weight of Living Ash and she breaks out into a ghoulish grin. Zergal and the other Casters - are weighted down, deeply strained. This task is not easy for Drow. To remain aligned and attuned to the greed and malice of the other casters is threatening to Drow. Their natural tendencies are towards mistrust, suspicion and malice. This coming together of all the Houses of the Underdark, is an event with no precedent. But the casting goes well. We are into the Third Day of the Casting. Zergal is bored. He suspends the casting, he has mischief to make in the surface world. In the Midnight Hour - he suspends the Dark Mythal casting - and Teleports into the Surface World - where dragons and undead converge on the surface world...... |

You - Gilithian - have a pair of cruel eyes suddenly staring straight at you. Zergal studies you with a look of contempt on his face. You see that his hands are poised to cast - and he says "......with my help, the Vampires will have another in their throng." His voice is filled with spite and hatred - and you notice his body radiating with many dweomers....... "....ere two sunrises, you shall be feasting with the Undead - and there is little you can do to prevent it...." Zergal grabs a scroll - and begins to incant in the Black Speech. It is a discordant and cruel sound. You feel a darkness descending upon you, and the Vampires begin to close in on you......Zergal looks momentarily towards Anglar - and again, you see lust overcome Zergal - before he returns his attention to Gilithian.... He then incants - quickened - and Vanishes.....you hear a cruel laughter fading......you feel disquieted by the interaction - the Vampires stare at you with dead eyes......in anticipation.... |
| aravilar_holistacia12-18-03, 09:01 AM | A crackling, almost electrical portal opened inside the court of Twilight Hall, and the body of an elf, clad in Evereskan High Mage's robes, fell groundward. He stood up, and every soldier and spell-flinger in the courtyard stopped to gaze upon the returned Aravilar Holistacia. The newly arrived elf cried out, "Reinforcements have arrived!" A huge, blue and black portal opened inside the bailey, and company upon company of elves were brought forth from the darkness. One of the elves who appeared, who was clad in full-plate, came up to Aravilar and said, "Greetings, Spell-Major. I am Keya Nihmedu, commander of the Vale Guard. I offer my assistance to you," the elven girl of about 85 summers said. "I sincerely hoped it would be you coming, Lady," Aravilar said with a grin. "Your timely arrival will save this keep." Aravilar looked around and said, "Prepare to attack the Drow lines! All non-defending companies, form up for advance!" The soldiers and spell-mages heard this call, and outside the walls of the fortress, the companies formed up, in their battle rows. Infantry in front, archers behind, and mages in the rear, they held fast. "Blade-captain Anglar, report to the front line! You are in command of these soldiers until my triumphant return!" Aravilar called out. The assembled troops looked to Aravilar. The mage sighed and said in his best command voice, "Load the catapults! Infantry, form up for advance!" He paused, then added, "Archers ready." A call was stuck up in the archer's lines, shouting, "Archers!" The archers nocked arrows and prepared to fire. Aravilar drew his moonblade and held it in a salute position towards the drow. He then dropped the sword to his side and called, "Fire!" "Fire!" the archers called, and several dozen arrows were loosed into the night sky. Aravilar warped time and space with a spell, and he appeared next to the so-called Shadow Master of the drow. "I was hoping for some kind of resistance, filth. Did you really think I would let your Mythal be cast?" Aravilar thust a hand out, and on the ground opened a world-window, showing a flaming Drow city and elven soldiers marching towards a circle of incanting Drow. "Stale Lembas, you say? Know this: If you are strong, you live. If you are weak, you die. I am to think you are of the latter." Aravilar cast his most powerful defense, an ironguard of immense power, before his held out his magically flaming moonblade to the Shadow Master's throat. Aravilar slowly stepped back and said, "Challenge. This shall be your end, N'Tel'Quess!" |
