| Lolita05-15-05, 10:16 PM | The last few months had been so chaotic for Lolita, a blur of running, hiding, feeding, and running yet again. It seemed that in the last few months hunters had been emerging into the night, their motives fueled by the promise of gold to any who brought back the severed head of a vampire. The cities in this region decided that the mass extermination of nearly anything related to vampires would be just grand for their communities. But not for Lolita... no, definetely not! She sat in an abandoned building, praying that she was alone, or at least away from the man that had given the "gift" of vampirism. She brushed back her jet black hair that had recently become streaked with white, although she shone with youthfullness. Her heart sank as she traced a scent in the wintry air. Humans... hunters no doubt; no commoner would dare to wander outside in this district of town. |
| Lord Tarran05-16-05, 10:42 PM | Beyond the wall, just next to Lolita, a voice, a rich male tenor hinting at darkness called. Vampire! No, I recant. Vampiress! No... a deep breath is heard . Lolita! I can smell you from here. Don't bother hiding, pet, I could come through the wall if I needed to. I just want to talk before the hunters are on us. You don't know me, I don't believe anyway, but the Masters and Ancients do. Don't bother looking for my scent, dear, mine is currently masked from lower beings such as yourself. My name is Ryan, Ryan Nightfiend. I am an Original, Lolita, and I'm offering my aid to you. I know of the one who sired you, and I know how to remove his hold over you. But we have little time. In good will, I have a vial here for you to drink. Veran Blood, highest quality, stolen from Lord Tarran himself. It should at the very least take the edge off your need to feed until you gain control of the urge. Come out Lolita, before the humans come. I can hear their dogs now. |
| Old Grix05-17-05, 04:37 AM | "Hear that Bowser?" Old Grix's eyes lit up with excitement as the bumbling old vampire hunter turned around to look down at his faithful basset hound. "Ya hear that boy!?" Of course the dog hadn't. As Loyal as Bowser was, the pooch was as deaf as it was blind. It's sense of smell wasn't so hot either. "Thar be Vampires in these ruins! Praise Tyr, I knew it! It's a good thing that Ryan feller started talking out loud for us, eh boy? Otherwise we never would have found 'em! The gods know we've been chasing that girly one for hours now! Boy oh boy, our luck's finally starting to change! Come on Bowser! Lets go get us their heads! Then we can return home and collect the bounty on them! And who knows, maybe we'll even make enough coppers to feed the wife and kids this week! Eh Boy? EH!?" Letting out joyous gales of laughter, Grix hobbled into the ruins where he had heard Nightfiend speaking, dragging poor old Bowser behind him. Within a matter of seconds, the crazy old coot and his tuckered out tail-wagger stood before the two vampires. Dawning nothing more than a shoddy looking overcoat and a small backpack, Old Grix pointed towards his opponents, albeit he could only see one of them, and exclaimed with all his senile ferocity: "Creatures of the Night, prepare to be vanquished!" |
| Drizzt05-17-05, 03:52 PM | " You should know that we hunt in packs, hunter" said a slender humanoid form lying on the ceiling, staring down with penetrating eyes. His white skin sparkled in the moonlight but his face was hidden from view by the shadows. He wore a long black coat with a dark blue ruffled shirt and long brown, tight fitting pants. Long blac hair hung down from his hidden face. He jumped down from the roof, landing behind the Hunter. then running behind a pillar and jumping through a window. He lands beside Ryan, asking" Should we help the girl, master?". |
| Lolita05-17-05, 06:09 PM | Lolita whirls around, her senses ablaze and her heart racing. "Bastards! Now I have to run again!" she hisses, slipping past the slender dark clothed man, away from the loud hunter. Lolita stumbles through the littered room, eager to evade the hunter rather than fight him. She couldn't believe she hadn't been alone, it had been so quiet here, so still! Yet there had been others nearby, so close! Lolita cursed herself for being so reckless... but she couldn't blame herself, for a truly cursed man had bestowed this gift upon her only three days ago. 'This is the last time I trust dark strangers... espeically men!' she reminded herself as she ducked out an open window and dropped into the cobblestone streets below, not at all graceful in doing so. |
| Lord Tarran05-17-05, 06:23 PM | Ryan appears to be about 20, physically, permanently frozen in youth. His eyes, dark inky pools belie his true nature, a milennia old creature. His clothing is black, woven to fit him, but be comfortable. The clothes covered most of his body, revealing just his hands and his head. His skin is pale, his hair light, and he smiles to reveal sets of bright white, pointy teeth. He doesn't look back at <Drizzt, what's your char's name?> but merely motions with his hand silently towards the hunter, on the other side of the wall. End him, <Drizzt's char's name>, leave the girl to me. I'll signal when I need you. Ryan strolls away calmly, fading soon into a burst of shadow. He fades through the wall, through the wall with the broken window and onto the street. He comes out of his shadow walking beside Lolita. He smiles genuinely, seeming earnest and honest despite the cloak of darkness surrounding him. Please don't run anymore, pet. I'll just catch up again. I have taken a personal interest in you, Lolita, and I would like to talk to you, not chase you up and down the city. If I was going to dust you, I would have already, and as much as you don't trust others of your kind, we need to chat. |
| Lolita05-17-05, 06:28 PM | "Chat? Chat! Do I look like I want to chat right now? No... all I want to do is get out of this city... I do not enjoy being endangered," she replies, skirting around into an ally where she leans against a wall to rest and become calm. A shiver creeps through her young body and she struggles to regain herself. "Say what you will to me... stranger," she agrees after a few silent moments as she brushes faint tears from her eyes. |
| Lord Tarran05-17-05, 06:39 PM | I guessed you would be willing to listen. He smiled softly, walking out of the street into the alley, sitting on a garbage can opposite Lolita so as to look her in the eyes without either having to contort themselves. He smiles again, flashing his teeth as he speaks. Lolita, what I'm about to say will suprise you to say the very least I believe. My name is Ryan Nightfiend, as I said, and again as I mentioned, I want to free you from the vampire who sired you. I also want to get you and every other vampire I can out from this city, and from all the cities, to escape underground, into the caverns, to the vampire cities starting there. However, your 'master' is undesirable. Taking unwilling victims, siring needlessly, and generally perpetuatingthe very kind of beast that has all of us running from the humans like scared dogs. I can free you from him, and more importantly get you out of here long enough to master your new gifts. Willing to just stay with me just for a little bit? |
| Lolita05-17-05, 06:48 PM | "Undesirable indeed! Although he did take me off the streets for awhile... But, Mr. Nightfiend, your cause is noble and liberating, yet I walk alone right now. I've lost my brother to who know what kinds of atrocities and I may have lost myself also," she says more calmly, almost sweetly. 'This is how it has to be for now..' she tells herself silently, lowering her eyes to the ground so she won't have to gaze at him any longer. 'Oh I wish... no... It must be this way..' Lolita stands upright to take leave before the hunter with the hound catches up. |
| Lord Tarran05-17-05, 06:54 PM | There is something highly compelling in Ryan's voice. He orders in this changed voice. Sit back down, Lolita. His tone changes, becoming normal again. Your brother is beyond help, you're right, but that does not make you lost. Come with me and I'll help you find your way back to the path. You are only a step off of it. There is no reason to punish yourself because of things outside of your control. And please, Ryan, Lord Ryan if you must be formal. |
| Lolita05-17-05, 07:00 PM | Lolita complies, although she doesn't understand why. "Why should I go with you? And why would you even care to help such an insignificant person as I? What are you getting from all this?" she questions, for she has many reasons to be cautious and somewhat paranoid. Yet his appearance was quite... enchanting. |
| Lord Tarran05-17-05, 07:08 PM | Ryan smiles, a little more predatory than before. What do I get from this? Revenge partly. The vampires like your sire are the ones excluded from my mission of rescue. They will all be slain, either at human hands or at mine if they interfere. Why do I help you? Because you are interesting to me, and because you are young. Why should you listen? Because I could force you to I really wanted to, and because I do mean the best for you. |
| Lolita05-17-05, 07:14 PM | "Well I do admit that I haven't seen a friendly face around here at all," Lolita speaks softly, nearly letting her gaurd down, "And revenge..? Yes... I cannoy deny that I desire revenge! To be able to kill that ghastly man... no he is not a man..." Lolita drifts off in thought for a moment before adding, "I will go with you then, but I can sense more hunters around in this district." |
| Old Grix05-17-05, 07:14 PM | As Lolita and Ryan fled the scene, Old Grix started jumping up and down hollering out towards them. "Hey! Wait, dang-nab it, don't go! I need yer heads!" But alas, the old man's words fell on deaf ears as the two completely vanished from site. This, however, did very little to dampen the vampire hunter's resolve. "You can't escape me that easily! Go get 'em BOWSER!" Still out of breath from when he had been dragged into the ruins, Bowser steadily rose to his feat and began hobbling in the direction that the two ran off in, bumping into the occasional ruined wall along the way due to his short sightedness. Now all that remained in the clearing was Old Grix and the one vampire who had stayed. Grix readied himself for combat, sinking both his hands into the pockets of his over coat. "Alright you fiendish Stalker of the Night! Even though the town elders were after the girl specifically, I can still turn your head in for a pretty penny. Have at you!" |
| Bowser05-17-05, 07:19 PM | As the two vampires continue their a discussion, they hear the scampering of four paws followed up by the occasion bump sound. Before too long, an old and limping basset hound stumbles into their conversation and collapses to the ground, panting quite heavily. *Paaant Paaant Paaant* |
| Lord Tarran05-17-05, 07:25 PM | Ryan dropped to a knee as the dog arrived, placing a hand upon the creatures head, petting it between the years. To the dog, Ryan did not feel vampiric or evil or unnatural. Instead, he felt like a fellow dog, though much larger, more feral, wolf like. The old hound heard in his head, in a language recognized by all canines, a voice much like Ryan's. Hello, old one. You appear to be reaching your last days, fellow, and great pain wracks you I can see as your body gives away, your senses gone. I can restore you to youth again, Bowser, all I ask if your allegiance. Something about the voice is very comforting, serene, loving, speaking to Bowser not only as an equal and friend, but as a superior and an elder deserving respect. Ryan turns outwardly to Lolita. I knew you would come around. Just give me a moment with this dog and we can be on our way. |
| Lolita05-17-05, 07:29 PM | "Of course..." she replies, edging toward the other end of the ally. 'What am I getting myself into? I don't even know this... Ryan... this could be a trap!' she thinks to herself, fear rising inside. At the last minute she turns and sprints down the dark end of the ally. |
| Bowser05-17-05, 07:29 PM | Upon getting pet on the head, Bowser promptly flops to the ground and rolls up on his back with his paws up in the air, obviously hopping to get pet on his belly. |
| Lord Tarran05-17-05, 07:36 PM | Ryan pets the hound on his belly, as he swoops up the creature into his arm, petting as he followed Lolita in a shadow walk. He reappears before her, trying to block her path. You see dear, if I meant to harm you, I would have already. But, if you have apprehensions, my servant <Drizzt's Character> will keep the hunter on you busy for a while, so I have time for whatever questions you might have. Again Ryan speaks to the dog in thought. Elder please listen. I know you understand. Is there something keeping you from answering? |
| Lolita05-17-05, 07:42 PM | Lolita lets out a startled cry and stumbles and falls over, giving Ryan a sharp look as she sat still on the dirty ground. "Please," she cries, "I don't want to lose anyone else to this horrible extermination. It would be best that I do not get attached to anyone as kind as you, lest I must carry the sorrow and guilt of their death!" |
| Lord Tarran05-17-05, 07:54 PM | The look that Ryan gives Lolita can only be described as condescending. His tone is as well. Pet, there is, never was, and never will be a human alive who could hope to take me or any of my close servants. His tone becomes kind again. And I promise you, no others close to you will be lost in this nightmare. I promise. He pauses, then smiles. Any questions? |
| Lolita05-17-05, 07:57 PM | "Hmm.. looks as if I have no choice... you'll follow me whenever I go, won't you?" she speaks, sighing softly. "All right... where should we go?" she asks after getting back on her feet and brushing off her clothes. |
| Lord Tarran05-17-05, 08:09 PM | He smiles. Yes, I would follow you until you agreed. I was thinking about hunting around the city a little more for other younglings willing to follow, before diving down into the sewers to the Undercity that my fellows and I have begun to build. |
| The Renegade Master05-17-05, 08:15 PM | From out of the shadows a voice rings out. Calm and stern much like a school teacher. [i] " Thier is no need for you to go with him my child...." [i] The Calm voice spoke. Turning towards the voice, revealed a Tall figure in black Priest outfit (more like mordern day). A Dark wide brim hat atop his head. One hand was cross wise behind his back the other at midlevel, seeming to play with a neckless of Beads. A Single Purple Sash of Silk ran from his back over his shoulder. |
| Lolita05-17-05, 08:23 PM | Lolita turns quickly, her eyes glancing around the ally. "Who are you?" she calls out, edging back to stand beside Ryan instinctively |
| Lord Tarran05-17-05, 08:31 PM | Chapel... Ryan places Bowser on the ground next to Lolita. A black priest, a madman, a vampire murdering monster. A devil among devils. Did I mention he was evil? Ryan looks to Chapel, his eyes glaring, but his body still calm. What are you doing here Chapel? We agreed that you would stay away from my children. I'll leave the demons and the other evils alone, you stay out of vampiric and lycanthropic affairs. I don't want to come to blows now. I have better things to do. |
| Lolita05-17-05, 08:37 PM | Lolita draws back... frightened by Ryan's words. "We need to find safety..." she whispers, unsure of whether to trust Ryan or to run to a hiding place. |
| The Renegade Master05-17-05, 10:58 PM | Chapel shakes his head alittle " I wouldn't say I was a Devil..." almost a hint of a smile, that quickly fades to seriousness " Our contract remains intack Ryan, and as such I am bound not to harm you or your childern. " Chapel takes a few more steps forward, then stops again at the girls reaction. " ... I am hear to keep the faithful on course with the scriptures, and that the damned be judge and redemption delievered.." Indeed this was not the first run in with Chapel for Ryan. Many times before they had disagreed, but one thing was always crystal clear. Thier oath to each other was never crossed. Chapel would never cause Ryan nor his childern harm. |
| Lolita05-17-05, 11:21 PM | Lolita doesn't like the looks of Chapel... he seems very grave and very frightening. "So you two... are friends, somewhat?" she asks, forcing herself to be brave once again, as a chilly winter's night breeze blows through the dark ally. |
| The Renegade Master05-18-05, 03:26 PM | " ... Not sure if Friends would be the word I used for it... " His stern face, not revealing any hint of what he realy ment. " its enof to say that we have an understanding... " |
| typo'ri05-18-05, 04:56 PM | *Scurries into the night, having done his job* |
| Lord Tarran05-18-05, 05:42 PM | Chapel and I agreed nearly a century ago that I would not bother his minions, wherever they may be, and he would not bother those of my blood and lineage, vampires and werewolves. Ryan sees that at the moment no battle is coming, realizing that Chapel would not break the agreement, and would not seek him out unless it were important, and relaxes slightly. So what are you doing here, Chapel? My contacts placed you across the world. Something I should know about? |
| shadow of death05-18-05, 06:56 PM | From the shadows above, a dark cloaked figure crouches in the darkness, watching those below, listening to their words. His form is hidden, save for the very dull glow of red where his eyes would be, and a few strands of white hair hanging down from within the cowl. The figure remains absolutely motionless. |
| Lolita05-18-05, 07:01 PM | Lolita glances about as Ryan and Chapel speak. 'We are much too vulnerable out here... in the open at night,' she thought to herself, shivering even though the cold didn't bother her. Someone could be lurking out there... watching... |
| Drizzt05-18-05, 08:28 PM | " do you really think you could beat me, Fallacio, old man?" the question echoed into the night air. Then faster than seemed possible Fallacio drew two crossbows and fired their loaded qaurrels at Grix. He then threw the crossbows down and bounded to the roof and through a hole onto the top. |
| The Renegade Master05-18-05, 09:31 PM | " Lolita is correct... we should first move to a more... private location before we contiune our discussion. " Looking at Lord Taran Knowing full well that he must have a safe house in the area were they might talk freely. Chapel noteing the sound of the crossbow fireing in the distance. |
| Lord Tarran05-18-05, 09:40 PM | Ryan turns his nose to the wind, sensing the prescence of the shadow watching them. He also hears the crossbow fire, and resolutely doesn't move. There is no reason for us to move, Chapel. We only have one uninvited guest, and that fighting you here is Fallacio's battling with a senile old hunter. This area is more secure at the moment for you than any of my safehouses. Ryan's voice echoes into Lolita's head. Only she can hear him. This area is safe, dear. I can handle any possible threat in this city. |
| Lolita05-18-05, 11:45 PM | Lolita relaxes a bit after hearing Ryan's voice, although it seemed strange to her that he could speak to only her. She remains standing beside him, looking down as the conversation continues. Only then does she notice that her black flowing shirt is tore up the side from when she had jumped from the broken window... blood stains from a small cut from the broken glass. She covers it up and stares at the mud smeared street, heart sick for her lost brother and worried about herself for once. |
| The Renegade Master05-19-05, 12:17 AM | " ... If you insist Lord Taran.. " Chapel thinks for a moment were to start. " I have been tracking some lost souls, 2 particliarly foul ones. This young child here has the scent of one of those foul souls all about her. I must say I am not surpised to find you here.... " Turning a bit, and looking towards to moon, As he turns you noticed the Boken (wooden Katana) that is in Chapel hand that was behind his back. " Along the way, I purifyed a few lost souls.. one of them confessed his sins to me before his passing, and spoke your Name Lord Taran. Seems these defilers dont like you much. " Looking back towards the Lolitia, then Taran " ..and now you add stealing one of thier spawn to thier list... " |
| The Renegade Master05-19-05, 12:24 AM | (( ops... just noticed I kind of meta gamed their LOL Lolita didn't say outloud anything about being out in the open my bad )) |
| Lord Tarran05-19-05, 03:59 PM | If I were them I wouldn't like myself very much either. But we are not here to discuss the vampires who shall fall into the fire for their crimes. What do you want Chapel? I have little time for this, and better things to do. There are others to be brought Home before the end of this night. |
| Lolita05-19-05, 05:35 PM | Through all the night time noises that Lolita can hear, one sounds lingers in the wind... a voice? And no, it wasn't on the wind, but in her mind. Lolita glances up, her heart pounding. "Little sister... little sister? Come to me... it is I... just below your feet... in the sewers, little sister," the voice flutters through her mind, "For we both have recieved the 'gift' now..." Lolita tries to appear calm and rather bored on the outside, her eyes lazily glancing around. "Mr. Nightfiend... I shall meet up with you later in the night... I must tend to some... business. Something has come up," she calls to Ryan, softly and gently, hoping that he would trust her. 'My brother's alive!' she thought to herself excitedly, anxious to see his familiar face. |
| Iscariot05-19-05, 06:34 PM | Judas looks on at the chaos. He is amused by the senile hunter... prepare to be vanquished! He chuckles silently. He then snaps his attention to Ryan. He wonders to himself if he should align himself with or against him... he would have to decide sooner or later. |
| The Renegade Master05-19-05, 08:44 PM | (( A THOUSAND AND ONE Apologys Taran... I need to read more carefuly LOL )) Chapel turned to Ryan, a bit of a frown on his stern face. This talking was getting us no were, chapel thought to himself. But it was nessary since the Young One and Ryan presences were needed. " I want what I always want Ryan... as to why I am here I have told you... as to what we do now.. I would like to tag along. You and this girl will be the honey to the bees I am after, and lost bees cannot wander far from the hive.." |
| Lord Tarran05-19-05, 09:40 PM | Well then, Chapel... Ryan picks up Bowser and hands him to Chapel. Carry my dog as we follow Lolita. What she is chasing after now will be her downfall, if I sense correctly. Also... Ryan looks up, You can come out creature, whereever you are! I can sense you even if I can not see you. ((Sorry Bowser for breaking FOD, but I just want to keep Bowser with the group so he isn't left alone in an alley. I'll change it if there is a problem.)) |
| shadow of death05-19-05, 09:48 PM | With a chuckle, the dark cloaked figure stands straight up, steps off the rooftop and slowly floats to the ground. He stands barely at 5 feet, but radiates power and age. His features remain hidden as he alights on the ground, though he is armed, two swords hide in sheaths, on on each hip. He remains quiet however, as if taking stock in those gathered. His hands are hidden within his cloak |
| Lolita05-19-05, 09:51 PM | Lolita seems in a trance as she swiftly makes her way to the nearest sewer opening, sliding open the lid and dropping in. The others might follow her, but the stench of the sewer may drive them back. It doesn't seem to matter to Lolita though, she is persistent. Once down in the blackened tunnel, she comes to her senses. "Eww... oh my..." she gasps, staggering backwards. In the darkness a glint of metal flickers and out steps a man... or rather a vampire. His facial features are similar to Lolita's, yet his eyes are black and his skin pulled tight across his face. He used to be muscualr too, but now he is shrunken and dead looking. "Brother!" she cries out, running to his and falling into his frail embrace. |
| The Renegade Master05-19-05, 10:30 PM | With a Raise of his eyebrow Chapel reluctently takes to dog. " ..You once called me a Madman, a devil of devils.. and now you reduce me to a mear dog walker..." Thou thier wasn't a hint of it, it was clear to Ryan that Chapel was smiling on the inside at this little joke. The Lolitas sudden momvent towards the sewers turn Chapels attention back to the seriousness of the moment. Chapel was about to take a step, when the cloaked figure finaly made itself known. " .. More lost souls lurking in the night.. " Chapel says coldly, keeping the dog under his arm as if it was no more then a light bundle of cloth. |
| Drizzt05-20-05, 12:56 AM | Fallacio crosses a couple of roof tops to reach where Ryan is talking to Chapel. Out of the corner of his eye he spots Lolita descending into the sewers. Weighing whether or not to go after her he decides that she must be important to his master and quickly leaps off the roof, activating a ring on his finger about half-way down his descent suddenly slows. He is now slowly falling, almost like a feather to the opening. |
| Old Grix05-20-05, 06:31 AM | With speed almost unthinkable for a man his age, Grix's hands burst up from within his deep pockets to reveal the instruments of death he intended to use against his vampiric opponent. Clenched tightly in one hand was a sturdy wooden mallet, and in the other hand, a plump juicy medium-rare steak, with extra seasoning salts and spices. But as impressive as Old Grix's arsenal was, Fallacio's quarrels struck home before the old man even had the chance to use them. THUD! SQUISH! . . .Lying on the ground, pierced by the wretched quarrels that had fell them, were Old Grix's mallet and tastey T-bone. The elusive vampire had shot both items right out of Grix's hands before going into hiding and leaving behind his two crossbows. Grix just stood there with a stunned look on his face, then peered down towards the two abandoned crossbows. "Well hot diggity! I don't need them vampire heads after all! I just need to pawn off these two dandy crossbows! Why I betcha if I approach that right merchant, I can even make 40 gold coins off of 'em! Oh happy days! BOWSER!" The old man called out for his dog as he happily collected the two crossbows. |
| Bowser05-20-05, 06:44 AM | Snuggeled up all warm and cozy in Chapel's arms, Bowser suddenly lifts his head up and raises one of his ears. The dog then abruptly begins to squirm about as if wishing to be let down. |
| Lord Tarran05-20-05, 07:41 AM | Ryan, noticing the dog's squiriming, and having heard Grix's yell, nods to Chapel to let the dog go. Ryan could deal with the dog later. That being done, Ryan disappears in a shadow, as if walking, to reappear at the open sewer grate. Fallacio is there, he sees, and he smiles. Ryan descends the ladder, hid eyes quickly adjusting to the dim conditions. He looks out to where Lolita is... |
| Lolita05-20-05, 09:55 AM | Lolita is in the arms of the ghastly creature that was once her brother. Her love for him is blind though and she sees him as if he had always been that way. "Big Brother.... where have you been? How could you leave me alone for all this time?" she cries, clinging to him. He had been like a parent to her as they grew up alone in the city. "I've been busy... so busy," he replies, his voice raspy and unnatural. "Doing what? Too busy to find me?" she questions, a slight wavering in her voice. "Enough... Little sister, we are together now. I require your help though... in a ritual for..." he starts to explain, before quickly cutting off as he sees Ryan in the darkness. He deep growl comes from within him as he releases Lolita and pushes her behind him. "I'll deal with these stalkers of yours," he growls, eyes as piercing as the night. "No! They are not stalkers... that's my friend!" Lolita cries out, tugging at his sleeve. But the creature isn't listening. |
| Drizzt05-20-05, 02:03 PM | Fallacio descends after his master, watching for anything out of the ordinary and spying the approaching creature. He positions himself between it and his master. " take her and run master, I will distract it for you" he whispers in Ryans ear as he passes in front of him. " I will not let you take her or my master, you foul beast, you will fall" Fallacio tells the creature. |
| shadow of death05-20-05, 02:19 PM | The dark figure follows the others, a few yards behind. When the girl confronts who she percieves as her brother, he pauses, melding slightly with the shadows around him. He remains visible, barely, and watches. |
| Lolita05-20-05, 03:10 PM | The creature steps forward boldly, sneering at Fallacio with yellow teeth. "She is my sister, she belongs to me now. I wouldn't want any harm to come of you," he hisses possessively. Lolita keeps quiet, recognizing the intimidating tone in his voice. "Timothy!" she cries out his name, fearfully, "don't fight. Please don't..." |
| Lord Tarran05-20-05, 04:03 PM | "Back down, Fallacio," Ryan orders. "I shall take care of this creature." Ryan walks forward, in between Fallacio and Timothy. "Hi Tim, how are you today? Looking for more innocents to butcher, I suppose? Give Lolita to me, please. I wouldn't want to slay you after your last beating at my hands." |
| Lolita05-20-05, 05:39 PM | He bristles with hatred and says in a dangerous tone, "You wouldn't split a family up would you? Lolita is my baby sister, I take care of her... I need her more than ever now... she is useful." Lolita finds his words a little more than unsettling. Useful? "Timothy, lets go... please... what do you need me for?" she pleads, gently resting a hand on his bony shoulder. 'He's so thin... and dark...' she thought to herself, noticing his hollowness. |
| The Renegade Master05-20-05, 08:56 PM | Watching as not only the dog, but Ryan, and the stranger in the shadows all leave at once. A cold wind lifted a few leafs and dust, before Chapel begin walking towards the sewer, but in the other direction. Finding another man hole cover, Chapel nelt down and slid the lid off effortlessly. With out another word Chapel droped into the sewers unheard and unnoticed. |
| Lord Tarran05-21-05, 12:28 PM | "Useful?"Ryan yells, advancing slightly forward with his fists balled."What do you have in mind, Tim? Sacrifice to the Dark Gods for aid? Sacrifice to the Vampire Lords to bring your masters back? Don't bother trying to pull one over on me, Timothy, I know well that the blood sacrifice of a relative, especially a vampiric one is needed, to bring such beings from beyond the Dust." Ryan's eyes are jet black now, his hands balling and reballing into fists, as claws edge out from his finger nails. "Don't make me hurt you, Tim. Lolita doesn't need to see what the two of us are capable of at this age." |
| Lolita05-21-05, 01:18 PM | "Sacrifice?" Lolita stammers, eyes wide with fear as she looks searchingly into Timothy's eyes. He only breaks the eye contact and shifts his gaze back to Ryan. "If you need to know, I merely want to... initiate Lolita into a clan. The Clan of Silver Fangs. Yes... that is all..." he explains with slow, calm words, his hand grasping Lolita's, "It would be... the best for her..." They all stand there silently for a moment with Lolita looking very uncertain. |
| shadow of death05-21-05, 06:08 PM | The shadowy figure remains quiet, watching, his hands remaining within his cloak as his cowled head turns slightly one way, then the next as the others speak. |
| Lord Tarran05-21-05, 07:24 PM | Ryan growls deep in his throat as he steps towards Timothy. "Let her go, Tim. I've known Lolita for only a few short hours and I know well enough that she would not want to be the member of such a butcherous, montrous, murderous band of vampires. Don't make me hurt you, Timothy." |
| Lolita05-22-05, 10:03 AM | Timothy grins and wraps an arm around Lolita's waist, drawing her in close. She whimpers but cannot protest... something was not right about him. What happened to the gentle, kind brother? A flicker of an idea pulses into her mind just then. She's vampire right? She wonders if she could try anything against Timothy, perhaps weaken him... no... it would be too dangerous. "Don't worry..." she calls softly to Ryan and the others, "There's no reason to fight..." And with that she takes the arm that's wrapped about her and plunges her teeth into the sickening skin of Timothy. Only it wasn't what she expected... because he gasped and then shoved her off him, sending Lolita to the sewer floor. "Wench! You dare to assault me? You cannot harm another vampire, especially a kin vampire, don't you know that?" he yells, his words echoing throughout the black tunnel. Lolita scrambles to her feet and backs away, nearly tripping into Ryan. |
| The Renegade Master05-22-05, 10:14 AM | From behind Timothy thier came the sound of foot falls, from out of the darkness walked the man in black. The Man simply known as Chapel, his prayer beads in one hand, his other hand behind his back. " .. Not a very touching family reunion is it.. " Chapel spoke mockingly towards Timothy. " Tell Me Damned soul... where is your master " |
| Lolita05-22-05, 10:20 AM | "My master? There is no need to confront my Master," he replies, unphased by Lolita's hurt expression. "What do you wish, human?" Timothy adds with a sneer, after looking the man over. |
| Lord Tarran05-22-05, 01:56 PM | Are you okay, Lolita? Ryan calls in thought, as he advances to stand behind Timothy, as he turns to Chapel. He strikes towards Tim's head, hoping to knock him off balance, possibly unconcious. "There is a great need to talk to your master, Tim!" Ryan roars. |
| Lolita05-22-05, 02:12 PM | "I'm fine..." she replies, not knowing how to reply in telepathy. Timothy, glances back at Ryan, then back at Chapel again. This was getting out of hand. How had Lolita attracted so many others, and why had they followed her? All he wanted was for her to come down her quietly and they could've slipped away safely. Then he master would be pleased. Not now though, with all these strangers so close to the clan's hideout. "My master has no name. He is simply our master. I will not lead you to him though, I can't imagine how angry he would be with me," Timothy replied, sick of all this yelling. |
| Lord Tarran05-22-05, 02:35 PM | Ryan reaches for Tim's collar. If he grabs it, Ryan is strong enough to pick Tim off the ground, to stare up at him in disgust. "You would be better to displease your master than to anger me, Timothy. I have little patience for murderous vampires, especially ones so close to my Undercity. Where is he, or do I need to get rough?" |
| Lolita05-22-05, 05:07 PM | "You could destroy this body... that you could. But you wouldn't be able to evade my master's wrath!" Timothy answers, letting Ryan grab him. He broke into hysterical laughter just then, sending a shudder through Lolita as she watched on. |
| Lord Tarran05-22-05, 06:48 PM | Ryan throws Timothy, hard, at the wall, with the force to make the boy his own personal crater. He advances towards the boy, no matter the result of the throw. "You have no idea who I am do you, Timothy? In his wildest dreams your master is not more powerful than I, and so I fear not his wrath. I would slay you here, don't worry, but you are as of this moment the only one who can show us the way to your master." |
| The Renegade Master05-22-05, 08:33 PM | Chapel remaining ever still only offers some comments to Ryan and Timothys scuffle " ... Thiers far worse things then death Lost Soul... " With a flick of his Wrist two pieaces of paper fly throw the air and stick to the wall behind Timothy. One on each side, upon thier surface Holy Wards of Binding. Thier is only a second to react before thier Holy Wards Bind Timothy thier. Now.. thought Chapel, lets see what kind of lost souls we are dealing with. |
| Lolita05-22-05, 09:14 PM | Timothy groans, slumping to the floor. In an instant Lolita is beside him, worry etched in her face. "Oh no! Timothy please get up! Are you ok?" she cries out, touching his shoulder. He glances up, ignoring Lolita. His eyes are fixed on Ryan. |
| shadow of death05-22-05, 09:45 PM | The shadowy figure watches the binding spell, and chuckles. Yet...he remains otherwise motionless. |
| Iscariot05-23-05, 12:24 AM | Judas is no longer intent on Ryan, but on Chapel. He was now more a threat to Judas. Ryan was indeed powerful, but as he had said earlier, he dealt not with his kind. Chapel. however, dealt with his kind. Judas, while appearing relatively human, was a yugoloth, once a great lord on the slopes of Gehenna, until he was overthrown, and cast into this pitiful form. He begins to slink off as quietly as possible, not wanting to draw any attention from this priest. |
| Lolita05-23-05, 10:17 PM | Lolita and Timothy get up together, looking on at the gathered group: Ryan, Chapel, the other seemingly hidden guests...Thoughts flashed through Tim's mind, and he felt his loyalties strengthen for his master, no doubt his master was influencing these thoughts from afar at this very moment. Timothy was but a puppet... long since dead and practically mindless... nothing like his self. "Leave us," he announces, yet it was more of a demand. If any choose to follow where Timothy steals Lolita away they'll find themselves deeper underground in the rank sewers and abandoned catacombs that the savage vampires took for themselves. They'll also find that this situation with the Clan of Silver Fangs is much more complicated that it first seemed. And so Timothy and Lolita make their way down the tunnel of muck, regardless of what any of the others say. |
| Lord Tarran05-23-05, 10:32 PM | Ryan walks forward, soon disappearing in a shadow. He stays even with Timothy and Lolita, unseen, but seeing all, waiting for the right moment. |
| Lolita05-23-05, 10:48 PM | "You wont let anyone hurt me, will you?" murmured Lolita, looking fearfully to her brother. "We will do what is required of us," he replies solemnly. |
| Iscariot05-23-05, 11:38 PM | Judas begins to run when he thinks the priest can no longer hear him. He wonders what the priest would do if he were to catch him? He certainly could not send him to Gehenna- he is an exile. The Nine Hells, perhaps? Or the Abyss? Or something worse. His thoughts seemed scrambled, weakened as a human. He felt drained, and powerless, a shadow of what he once was. He felt fear, as well. He did not like fear... it was something entirely new to him. |
| shadow of death05-24-05, 09:26 PM | the dark cloaked figure does not bother to hide himself, though he keeps his features hidden by the cowl as he follows along behind a few yards. |
| Lolita05-24-05, 11:40 PM | Timothy is well aware of the confident cowled person walking behind them, not far off. So be it, they may walk into a trap while their at it. "I'm not sure of this," whispers Lolita, desperation in her voice as they turned a rocky corner in the sewers, entering a more ancient part of the system. |
| Lord Tarran05-25-05, 05:38 PM | Ryan is still there, just next to Lolita, though hidden off plane. Sensing her distress, he reaches out through telepathy. Worry not Lolita. I am here. Nothing shall harm you. |
| The Renegade Master05-26-05, 11:59 AM | Once again Chapel was left alone, Reaching into one of his pockets Chapel produced a small box. Opening it careful and pulling out a cigerate and placeing it in his mouth. With a small flick across a near by stone chapel lit his match and then his Cigerate. Taking a puff before turning towards the direction everyone went with a raised eyebrow. " This could get intersting... " Chapel Spoke aloud to no one in particular, Timothy hadn't even raised a eyelash at the Holy Words of Binding. Thou a Low Powered one, it was enof to trap lesser evils and spirits. Now Chapel was starting to form a picture of what he was dealing with. Taking another puff Chapel walked into the darkness of the sewers only the small light of the burning cigerate giveing away his presences. |
| Lolita05-26-05, 07:18 PM | The two siblings came to a smaller tunnel, and Lolita hesitated before Timothy moved her along. It was frightfully dark in there but as soon as she was emersed in blackness her eyes adjusted. She could see the rough texture of the stone ceiling, the oily water, and could even hear tiny echos of rats skittering about in the sewers. It was a wonder to her, although it was repulsive down here. "When we come to the catacombs do not speak. I will do all of that for you," commands Timothy, a tight grip on her shoulder. He could still hear the followers nearby... |
| rom05-26-05, 09:55 PM | .... |
| Lolita06-03-05, 05:41 PM | Before Lolita could react the tunnel had opened up and a vast cavern of moldy pillars and dark waters stretched out before them, heavy shadows cast by clusters of several candles. There seemed to be no end to it, or rather it was hidden in the darkness. Yet also hidden is the darkness were the afflicted cult members, writhing under undead skin and tortured by dark thoughts. They seemed so painstricken and weak to Lolita as she passed a few, Timothy's hand still tight on her shoulder, a somewhat menacing reminder. Deep down, Lolita wished and hoped for anyone of those people back in the sewer would follow, although she did worry for their safety... but the fear running through her right then was enough to make her want anyone to save her from this vile place. The Catacombs... |
| Lord Tarran06-06-05, 08:42 PM | I believe this is far enough, Timothy. Ryan appears out of a shadow near the wall. Now, give me Lolita, then point me in the direction of your master. I'll kill two birds with one stone. |
| Lolita06-07-05, 05:21 PM | Timothy whirls around, hissing viciously and shoving Lolita back behind him protectively. Nearby tainted vampires glance up, their eyes glazed and milky, their fangs yellowish and vile. More attention is drawn than Ryan had believed would be... "I won't stand for this!!" cries Lolita, her eyes blazing a bright grey yellow. She pulls Timothy by the throat, nearly tipping him over before he stablizes himself, anger flaring up inside for both Ryan and Lolita. By then, the pale inhabitants of the catacombs were creeping up and around, their gazes intent on the three. "It's a trap, Ryan, it has to be! We should run before---" Lolita's words are cut off by Timothy's grasp about her slender neck. |
| Lord Tarran06-07-05, 06:52 PM | Ryan is unsurprised by the sudden surge in the undead, though he kicks himself inside for falling for such an obvious trap. However, this phases him not as he leaps forward, blurring in his speed, as he tries to come between Lolita and Timothy, hurling the boy into the nearest zompire, catching the girl. I never run, Lolita. These creatures are no match for me. |
| Lolita06-07-05, 07:00 PM | Lolita staggers backward, her hair falling in front of her face as she coughs. Her eyes dart across the room at the gathering cult members, panic in her eyes and hunger in her thoat. Timothy lets Ryan pummel him and lies in the shallow mucky water with a sickening grin. "Go ahead, tear at me... my brethren will consume you if I do not," he sneers, unknowing coldness behind his stare. Meanwhile, Lolita runs down the open hall, intent on seeking the cult leader to attack whoever it may be. |
| Lord Tarran06-07-05, 07:24 PM | Seeing the cult members approach, but also aware of Lolita's running towards near immenent doom, Ryan is a bit of a quandry. However, he smiles, as he drops to his hands, coming to all fours. Well, two birds with one stone, I suppose. He laughs as his eyes become yellow and slitted, like an old wolf. His clothes disappear to reveal a body quickly being covered in silver fur, as bones crunch to reshape the boy into a lupine shape. His head becomes that of a wolf as his body grows to polar bear like proportions. His claws and fangs are silver too, each especially long. He laughs in that way that all dogs laugh, as his voice comes out low, hoarse, and deadly. You silly fools actually think that you can hit me, let alone kill me? His voice rumbles in a laugh. Don't blink. Like a great silver bullet, the wolf vampire zooms at each cult member, trying to slam into them with force equal to that of a train. As claws and fangs fly out, those struck feel the deadliness to vampires inherent in the weapons, as their flesh begins to burn. |
| Lolita06-07-05, 07:29 PM | Timothy's eyes grow wide with sheer terror and disbelief as he scrambles away. "T-the... Master said we we're... we we're immortal!! He promised us we couldn't be harmed!" he stammers, backing away wildly. |
| Lord Tarran06-07-05, 09:39 PM | The beast the was Ryan laughs, his voice dark and violent. Then he lied, silly fool!!!! Ryan leaps for Tim, hoping to slam fangs down through the boys head. |
| shadow of death06-07-05, 09:40 PM | The dark figure moves across the ground, staying close to the wall. His cowl still concealing his face. A warning hiss comes from within the darkness of the cowl as one of the cultists comes to close, but otherwise, he still remains an observer. |
| Lolita06-08-05, 05:35 PM | Timothy lunges at the beast Ryan, his false beliefs melting away into despair. Meanwhile, as the vampires swarm about, a few discover the cowled man observing. They hiss at him and approach. Lolita had run down into the heavily shadowed end of the catacombs, coming upon a stone platform raised above the disgusting water. She hesistates for a moment, then bares unused fangs and trudges up to the throne upon the platform. She is met by a shadow... very peculiar... |
| Lord Tarran06-08-05, 05:45 PM | "I have wasted enough time here," Ryan roars, as he slashes in attempts to slaughter more vampires. With a leap forward, he tries to end Timothy's life with his claws, before running down the hallway towards Lolita. |
| Lolita06-08-05, 08:34 PM | Timothy accepts the brutal attack, his soul being freed and his body crumpling into the waters lifelessly. As the shell of Timothy dies, Lolita is intent on the unmoving shadow. It watches her passively as she creeps closer and closer. What was this manifestation of evil? "You lead these vampires in a cult, don't you? My brother is your puppet?" she inquires in a quiet, almost dangerous voice. "The cult is useless, it only helps me gain access to a more deadly, more important society of undeath. Your brother died months ago, that thing wasn't him," answers the shadow, acknowledging Lolita's questions and remaining still as the air between them. "There is a greater scheme? I have only been vampire for a little more than a day and a night, and already I have stumbled into a broad plot... was this intentional?" she asks, relaxing a bit. The shadow didn't seem hostile... at least not right now while its cult was falling apart all around. "Your mind cannot comprehend the 'greater scheme'. Yet, it is uncanny that you've come into all this. Since you have seen these catacombs and have heard the words I speak, your only choice is to join me or die... I'd prefer you die though," it replies, sinister and senile. A pang of fear washes over Lolita, her grey yellow eyes becoming dull and normal, her fangs vanishing. There was no need to fight now... Lolita knew her choice... |
| shadow of death06-08-05, 08:57 PM | the dark cloaked figure moves, quickly. a black clawed hand slices out and across, aiming to rip out the throat of the nearest advancing vampire. A black sword, jagged like crystal, not smooth like metal slashes out in a thrust that ends with a twist and ripping straight up at the second vampire. The cowl falls back to his shoulders, revealing a small lithe man, with long pointed ears. His skin is black as the night, and his hair as white as the moon. He grins, baring long white fangs that glisten in the minimal light of the catacombs. REgardless of the result of the clawed attack, he draws a second sword wtih that hand, this one metallic. both blades are as black as his skin. |
| Lord Tarran06-08-05, 10:53 PM | Ryan howled as he exploded into the room with Lolita and the Shadow. "Get down Lolita!"He roars as he leaps over her to tackle the shadow away. |
| Lolita06-09-05, 05:51 PM | The shadow melts away with a stranlged hiss and Lolita whirls around, her senses ablaze yet again. "Don't leave me, oh Powerful One!" she cries, searching for the fled shadow, "I will join you!" Her skin becomes pale, death white and cold. Her fangs become a stained yellow. Her ruffled hair smoothes out and become a deep, shiny black, reaching to the backs of her knees. The color of her eyes drains away into an ash grey color. With the transformation complete, an obsidian locket appears in her hands. Lolita gazes at it, recognizing it as a token of friendship between her and the vanished shadow. Lolita, Ryan, and the cowled man are left in the catacombs with the weak vampires, the shadow having left the area... on its way to deliver a message, although Lolita couldn't guess as to what it could hold. ((yes, I'm a villain now!)) |
| Lord Tarran06-09-05, 10:21 PM | Ryan tumbles over himself, to come to a on guard position, growling at Lolita. "Have you any idea what you have done?"He asks. "You have joined the very evils that moments ago you claimed to hate. You have become one of the beast which I must destroy." He shifts on his forepaws, not sure how he wishes to contend with the problem. He stalks around her in a circle, not taking his eyes off of her. "What do you have to say for yourself?" |
| Lolita06-09-05, 11:33 PM | "If you can't beat them... join them. The shadow spoke of a more powerful motive and master. Besides, I am better off this way, don't you think?" she claims, wary of Ryan's glare. "You haven't the heart to kill me it seems," she adds slowly, her eyes narrowing. |
| Lord Tarran06-11-05, 09:24 AM | Ryan chuckles darkly as he stalks around her. Something flashes over his eyes, and the kindness and goodness that had been there before is gone. Completely gone. All that remains are two pits of blackness, of hatred, of evil. "Silly child," he remarks as he stops moving, to stand before her, "of course I have the heart to kill you. Not only that," He pauses to walk around himself, letting Lolita have a long look at his silver, sharp looking fur, his great claws, his rippling body, his aura of darkness, his massive fangs, "but I have all the other necessary bits. Do you honestly think that you can take me if I choose to end you, Lolita? You are out of your league." He stands where he is, and then is suddenly on the opposite side of Lolita. If he managed to strike her, a burning pain creeps up Lolita's arm, as a red gash appears where he slashed her. "Stand down, Lolita. I don't want to kill you if I don't have to. Come back to the fold." |
| Lolita06-11-05, 10:17 AM | Lolita flees with a newfound preternatural speed, her hope lost. She had thought Ryan would've been more compassionate, but it seems he was only a savage hunter. No matter, she would hide for now, grow strong with the shadow's powers, and then rise to defeat all who challenged her... even Ryan. Before she left the catacombs entirely, she whispered to the dark man that was cutting down vampires, "Drow? In the darkness? We will meet again..." |
| Lord Tarran06-13-05, 06:53 PM | Ryan was not about to let her escape. Running, and moving with unnatural speed for a creature his size, he follows Lolita by her scent. |
| shadow of death06-13-05, 07:08 PM | The drow cut down two more of the creatures, then his form shimmered slightly as he shifted into a shapeless gasseous form and floated down the tunnels after her, at a suprisingly quick rate of speed. A voice, his, could be heard as he changed. "sooner than you think...." |
| Lolita06-13-05, 07:36 PM | Lolita's fleeting form in the shadows disappears for a split second and then she is out in the open, standing the ankle deep sewer waters. The voice of that man was near her, yet also was the form of Ryan. "I'll get myself out of this..." she whispers to herself, never breaking eye contact with the charging Ryan. |
| Bewildered06-18-05, 11:36 AM | From within the catacombs a shrill scream is heard, eminating from the walls themselves. Anyone on still inside feels small drops of liquid falling upon their heads. Upon further inspection it is discovered to be blood. Streams of it form and delve down to the deepest caverns of that catacombs. Poolinh into a larger mass the blood begins to boil and bubble. Within a few moments a humanoid shape begins to forge itself within the puddle. Yes, all is as it should be. The harsh whisper is curdled with blood as the being completes itself. Naked and bloody the "Man" steps out of the darkness and roars triumphantly. |
| Xanther Extartis06-18-05, 12:55 PM | "So you have killed again monster." A figure steps out of the shadows and confronts the roaring figure "I have travelled long and hard to find you. Now u must die!" He yells a battlecry and charges the figure, hoping to fulfill his oath. |
| Bewildered06-18-05, 03:15 PM | Standing still, Asgar awaits his foes charge. Taking the brunt of the hit to his abdomen the unknown man splits asunder and falls to the floor with a bloody splash. The small spheres of blood quickly flowed out of the area and regrouped back into their original shape. I'm not so easily defeated young one. Better luck next time...Myabe you should use silver MUHAHAHAAHA! Laughing meniacly his form blurs and wastes away into blood. Seeping thru the floor Asgar disappears. Asgar ponders to himself as he follows the Vampiric chase. Yes, they both have talent and the new blood.. she has some potential. |
| Lord Tarran06-18-05, 03:40 PM | Ryan stops suddenly, sniffing the air. He growls, and instead of charging towards Lolita, stops. He closes his eyes for a moment, resuming his humanoid form that Lolita originally met him in. Though I should be slaying you right now, there are more important matters at the moment then a stupid runaway. I'll return for you eventually, don't worry, for there is no hiding from me, but there are much greater creatures around that have my attention over you, child. And, if you have a change of heart, you will be able to find me. His eyes are glowing in annoyance, as he turns his back to Lolita, walking away, disappering in the shadows. He reappears, out of her sight, standing next to Asgar. He crosses his arms, looks down upon Lolita as the other night creature does. He doesn't look at Asgar as he speaks, but he is definitely talking to him. What do you think, old friend? He points to Lolita. Worth the effort of uncorrupting? |
| Xanther Extartis06-18-05, 05:35 PM | Damn! Benthion screams to the heavens, cursing them for allowing the beast to live. I will find you, monster, and you will pay for your transgrssions against mankind. This i swear to the gods of heaven and the hell which you came from. With that, Benthion leaves the room to see what else goes bump this eve. |
| Bewildered06-18-05, 08:00 PM | Pondering a moment on his old friends question, Asgar hisses. Yess, she has much potential. But first I require a favor from you. I need a bit of your blood to... Aqcuire my belongings. If I may. Asgar reaches for Ryans hand |
| Lord Tarran06-18-05, 10:56 PM | Ryan takes a step away from Asgar, shaking his head. I think not, Asgar. Use one of the underlings nearby, I still remember to clearly what it felt like for me last time. |
| Lolita06-19-05, 11:45 AM | Lolita laughs arrogantly for a moment, brushing back her lengthly hair to glare at Ryan and Asgar as they talk. 'I have the locket the shadow gave me, I am well protected,' she tells herself mentally. |
| Bewildered06-25-05, 12:56 PM | Ehh, fine. Asgar extends his hand towards one of the multiple, feral vampire and begins to hum quietly. The Vampire turns towards him and charges. As the creature reaches a dangerous range, Asgar's eyes open wide and he lets out a louder hum. From within the Vampires throat a curdling wave of blood runs out and towards Asgars hand, dropping the creature. The blood splashes against Asgars hand and runs across his arm and down his chest and back. Asgar spasms as vestigal wings sprout from his back and a deep red armor dons his chest and shoulders. Yes, this will work just fine. Now my good friend what are we to do now? |
| Lord Tarran06-25-05, 10:03 PM | At this moment in time, Asgar, I believe we wait. He sighs heavily. I shall shadow the female for the time being, until I am at a point where I can either strike or convert her. You are free to your own wiles. I'll meet you back in the Undercity within the day. He leaps from his perch, quickly disappering into the shadows. |
| Bewildered06-26-05, 01:01 AM | Looking out over the rocky cliff, Asgar speaks without moving. The sun is coming over the horizon as he whispers. I believe in pain. How about you my little friends? Pain, the fear of which makes this world turn. Pain makes weaker men give way to men even more afraid then themselves. Wouldn't you say so? And death, a cousin to fear. Many no longer fear death, so I, I will make them fear life. You've nothing to say my friends? Good silence is my ally. With that Asgar drops his head and his form blurs again into a gelatenous form and dissipates into the air. |
| Lolita06-26-05, 11:22 AM | Sunlight filters down through the city grates up above as Lolita darts down the mucky sewer. She dodges around the beams of light, fearfully. 'Now I've two hunters tracking me...' she reminded herself, no beautiful smile coming to her face. But that wasn't the most pressing matter right now. Lolita was driven to find somewhere to tuck herself away for the day, until the wretched sun sets. And she found that place as she ran lightly: a little stone alcove was just ahead with no grates near it to spill hot sun on to her. She scuffled over to it and lean against the rough wall, sinking to a slouching/sitting position. She breathed in deeply and held the dark locket tight in her hand. She was fully vampire now. Timothy was dead. Ryan and his new friend Asgar were after her. And a Shadowlord was protecting her... for now. |
| Bewildered06-26-05, 12:59 PM | Asgar slowly walked down into the Undercity, taking in it features. It has been nearly a century since hes been back here. *Sniff Sniff* "Hmmpf. Theres bad blood down here. Shall we investigate my little fellows?" ,he says again to unseen friends. Asgar begins to walk around looking for the source of the foul blood |
| Lord Tarran06-26-05, 01:38 PM | Ryan sighs as he feels the sun come up above. Still in his shadowy form, Ryan flits up through a city grate into the sunlight above. He stands from his shadowy form, forming like a bubble from the muck. The sun makes him squit slightly, but other wise seems not to bother the boy in black. He sniffs the air calmly, knowing that Lolita was near, and knowing that she could see him through the grate. He grinned slightly as he turned to face the grate, hidden from mortal eyes by the early morning air and the alley which he had come in. He looks down upon Lolita. Suprised? |
| shadow of death06-26-05, 05:49 PM | ((sorry for delay...am in the process of moving...may not post much, but rest assured, my char is still around)) |
| Lolita06-26-05, 11:28 PM | Lolita's eyes narrow slightly as Ryan gazes down at her. Why did he have to be so arrogant like that? She shifted slightly, snuggling down against the wall in the shadows. She averted her eyes from the rising sun, feeling a headache hit her. Vampiric sleep overcame her shortly, and she was pulled into a dreamless sleep. |
| Bewildered06-27-05, 08:44 PM | Asgar slowly turned a corner into a narrow corridor. Looking deep within the darkness he spotted his game. Yesssss. He said with a serpentine accent. Here here little one, thissss won't hurt a bit. Quietly he crept nearer and hunched down his vestigal wings twitching with anticipation. Now there can be seen a small child, sunken and shallow, skin pale and unhallow. She looked up with a hiss. My master will NOT let me die, he say we are eternally living. Asgar stands erect and whispers. I can make you immortal, you will live out the rest of your days within me, making me more powerful. With that Asgar lifts an open palm towards the snarling girl and chants briefly as she flails about. After a moment her feet lift from the ground her arms and legs spread apart. Of a sudden her body crashes to the wall with a thud, painting the wall a crimson hue. The blood slowly makes its way to Asgars feet and creep upwards. His wings flutter a little as they spread and become more powerful. Hes hands crunch as the grow odd protrusions and his shoulders pop as they swell and cap themselves with a sharp point. Hahahaha, this is even better than last time. Asgar walks away unphased by the gruesome painting |
| Bewildered06-29-05, 10:04 PM | *Bump -Bump* |
| Lolita06-30-05, 09:46 AM | In that last day, the city above the sewers had been in turmoil. Hunters had reported seeing vampire looking creatures but couldn't follow them, and that alarmed the helpless citizens greatly. So much so, that during the day they had rioted and complained about how their safety was the kingdom's last concern. And in the last hours of daylight they had started boardering shut old abandoned houses, and then locking themselves shut in their own homes... all in fear of the undeath around them. It seems the now slaughtered cult had been spreading fear into the city at night. That would happen no longer, but the people were still on edge. And as day faded to night, Lolita was wrenched out of her dreamless slumber to find herself still scrunched up in the alcove in the sewers. Cursing lightly, she stood and felt her bones pop painlessly. She smoothed out her long, long hair and felt her pale skin glowing despite the dakness. Lolita had never felt so refreshed. A wicked smile came to her pale lips as she pulled herself out of the dank sewers from a grate. She wondered if Ryan would be skulking about with his new friend. Perhaps he'd abandoned her now? It was shame if he did, for Lolita had come to fancy him... even if he was sworn to kill her... |
| Bewildered07-01-05, 02:02 PM | As the sun goes down Asgar thinks to himself where Ryan could be. "I'll just go find him", he says to himself. Asgar flutters his almost useful wings as he walks out into the darkened city in search of his friend. "Ryan" he calls out telepathicaly. Asgar soaks in his new surroundings perhaps spotting a person he recognizes. |
| Lord Tarran07-03-05, 12:14 AM | Ryan is in fact skulking near Lolita. Deep within a near shadow, the Original watches her, wondering if he should snap her like a twig in his humanoid form, or take his lupine form to end her with his grand fangs. He crosses his arms thoughtfully, glancing up when Asgar's telepathic message reaches him. Waving his hand and nodding his hand dismissively, a reply beacon is sent back to Asgar, showing the other creature of the night his location. Message sent, he stands from his shadow, smiling somewhat cruelly. He circles Lolita once, before crossing her arms and looking her over appraisingly. He opens his mouth to speak once, and shuts it, before staring again. He had just realized how truly lovely this youngling was. I was trying to decide how to slay you best. Should I call on my shadow born or moon born gifts? Fangs, claws, or brute power? Well, Lolita? |
| Lolita07-05-05, 10:04 AM | "You wont slay me," she hisses, turning away from him arrogantly and defiantly, "I am protected." She glances down at the intricate black locket hanging around her neck, dangling just above her chest. She brushes back her hair and glances at him one more time... before deciding to run again, this time down the city streets. Lolita flitted gracefully into an ally and then stopped with a genuine grin on her face, savouring the way she could start a chase so easily with Ryan. It was their little game. Cat and mouse. Only she wasn't the mouse. |
| Bewildered07-05-05, 05:47 PM | Scream from the people of the night can be heard directly infront of Lolita. People make way as a fountain spews forth crimson liquid. Forming form it Is the all too familiar face of Asgar. Come, come my pretty. Must we always meet like this? You running away? Asgar points towards Lolita as his hand slowly forms. Should I intervine? he asks Ryan Telepathically |
| Lolita07-05-05, 06:37 PM | Lolita backs away as she notices Asgar out beside the fountain. Curses... she needed a quick plan to get Asgar out of the way. "What do you care if I run away? You only wish to see my death for your own simple amusement..." she calls to him, pleadingly yet not in a desperate way. Her eyes catch the light and glimmer, like a predator's reflective eyes. She flashes another quick smile, relying on her natural charm. |
| Bewildered07-06-05, 02:44 PM | You are my number one concern at the moment no need for ME to ssslay you. There are other wayssss you know. He sends out his dripping hand. Let us talk |
| Lolita07-06-05, 03:07 PM | Lolita recoils instinctivly. "Talk?" she repeats, softly. She blinks her eyes and ponders his motives for a moment. |
| Velwyn07-08-05, 09:03 PM | A thin shadowed form watches the confrontation from a window, gazing down into the ally from the safety of one of the boarded up buildings. Green eyes dart from the female to the male that was not far off. What the hell were they doing out at this time of night? Didn't they know there were vampires prowling...? Unless... they were vampires themselves? The shadowed form backs away from the window, nearly panicking. It was a young elf that had seen the two vampires in the streets. She was slim, and quite athletic, with long brown hair and a creamy complexion. She was dressed much like a ranger, with leather boots, long dark green tunic, and loose black pants. So what was she doing in the city? She was but a traveller, stocking up on supplies and visiting the local taverns. It seems she had stumbled into the city at the wrong time though. An infestation of vampires had the whole city thrown into chaos. No matter... perhaps these creatures could be reckoned with. She snatched up her pack and headed for the stairs that lead to the front door. She swung it open and stepped out into the dark ally, letting the door slam intentionally. :D |
| Lord Tarran07-08-05, 09:11 PM | Ryan lifts his head thoughtfully as he recieves Asgar's message, but sees the young elf before him. Keep her there, or at best tail her, my friend. I have another target for the moment. Slinking in and out of the shadows once more as he sheds his lupine form, Ryan stalks silently behind the young woman. He smiles as he calls, It is dangerous for a young woman to be out this time of night, especially in a city full of vampires. His appearance is half hidden by darkness, his long canines concealed. |
| Velwyn07-09-05, 11:51 AM | "Perhaps you could give me directions then? I'm not a local, and I don't know every street and ally as good as I should," she replies, keeping calm. Damn, she forgot to strap her belt on... it held several of her daggers. "Unless... you're some low life here to rob me," she adds with slight contempt. |
| MaskedOne07-09-05, 03:52 PM | A middle aged human in black robes with a gem tipped staff walks out of thin air about 40 feet from Lolita. He looks around for a moment before focusing on the young vampire. "Talking is probably better than running. You've done quite enough of that in the past 48 hours." The human's eyes seem to be consumed by silver fire as he speaks. |
| Lord Tarran07-09-05, 11:49 PM | He runs his tongue along his upper fangs, walking out of the shadows. Lowlife? Hmmmm. He chuckles. No, no, my dear elf, I am no lowlife wishing to rob you of a material possesion. He fades from sight and appears again behind her. I am merely a shepard and keeper of a grand flock always looking for new members, and I sense that you may be a threat to them. |
| Lolita07-10-05, 01:21 AM | Lolita whirls around to face the stranger that had appeared nearby. "How do you know what I've been up to?" she hisses, her eyes narrowing. |
| Velwyn07-10-05, 01:33 AM | She lets out a nervous, but sweet, laugh before saying, "Me? A threat? You jest..." She relaxes a bit, shifting her weight to one side so she stood with her hips tilted girlishly. Inside she was praying this stranger held no malice in his heart tonight, that blood was unnecessary. "My name is Velwyn and I can assure you that I'm not a threat to your flock," she says, brushing back her hair and blinking her eyes in the darkness. |
| MaskedOne07-10-05, 02:06 AM | Lolita whirls around to face the stranger that had appeared nearby. "How do you know what I've been up to?" she hisses, her eyes narrowing. The human looks faintly amused. "M'lady, I am a mage. Of course, I wouldn't have to be to track you. You've been running around haphazardly for the past 48 hours and you've aquired such an amusing entourage. 3-4 vampires of formidable power. At least one of which possessing enough power to give me pause. A cleric of a slightly disturbing nature. One unpleasant power of a nature that I've yet to identify. One profoundly psychotic brother who is also of course a vampire. Powers of life and light child, a 12 year old could get a general idea of what you've been up to through sheer bad luck. Now unless you have a fondness for running around like a chicken with its head cut off, this is the time to calm down and talk. Even if the conversation is useless, you will be provided time to do something rather rare for a fledgling, you'll actually be able to take time to think. Something, I've yet to see much evidence of on your part unless it was magically compelled. You'll also be safe enough for the duration of the conversation, provided you don't have the poor taste to attack anyone." The mage glances at the entity that appeared out of the fountain. "She will be safe for the duration of this conversation, correct?" While the comment is phrased as a question, something in the mage's voice implies that it is nothing of the sort. |
| Lolita07-10-05, 01:40 PM | Lolita trembles for a moment, before steadying herself. "He wants to kill me, you don't understand!" she cries out weakly, sinking to her knees and pleading. The mage was blunt... but honest... Lolita had gotten herself in a mess and had pretended it was all a silly game. Lolita was lucky to be here... although she didn't know how long she would be here. Tears were pooling up in her eyes, just as if she was human. There were still human things about her, she wasn't consumed completely yet. If only Ryan were here... he would stop these two from tormenting her. |
| Bewildered07-10-05, 01:45 PM | Get off of your knees. Never show weakness infront of the mortal. Asgar seemed to scowl her but at the same time his voice seemed like that of a concerned teacher. Ryan and I simply wish to discuss your... less than tactful decission to join the shadow master. His head shifted slightly as he caught Ryan's message. Yesss, my friend is a little tied up at the moment. You may call me Asgar , mage. I have yet to taste your name. What is it you have come for? Asgar sniffs the air taking in the full aroma of the mage. |
| Lolita07-10-05, 01:56 PM | Lolita wipes the tears from her cheeks and stands up, her confidence all but shattered. "Ryan would rather slaughter me, and he told me himself. Is it really what I deserve?" she calls to Asgar, shaking visibly. |
| Lord Tarran07-10-05, 02:33 PM | Ryan glances over this female from behind, as she tries to use her body to put off the imminent doom she felt coming her way. He smiles again, liking the elf's spunk even in the face of death. He strolls silently to be in front of her, looking deep into her eyes with his own, wolf like, eyes. He sighs, and chuckles thoughfully. "Maybe you are not a threat to the flock," he comments. "Maybe you are one who should join it." He glances up, abruptly, and sniffs the air. He smells Lolita and Asgar easily, and then a third scent, definitely one of arcane make, that backed much power. "However, at the moment, there are other matters I need to attend to. I'm sure I will see you around, Velwyn." He steps backwards into a shadow and vanishes, as if never there. Ryan then steps out from another shadow, feet away from the group around the fountain. He looks at Asgar, the mage, and finally at Lolita. "Ah, Lolita dear, how nice of you to finally be willing to talk. I do not wish to slaughter you, no, I merely wish to excise from you the influence of the Shadow Master. I do not understand why you would go to the very vampires you said you wished to avoid. You deserve freedom, and I'm willing to give it. However..." he turns to face the mage. "There is the matter of our sorcerous friend here to be dealt with first. I sense great power and an unknown goal from this mage. My name is Ryan Nightfiend, human. May I have the courtesy of knowing yours?" |
| Velwyn07-10-05, 05:40 PM | "Sorry, stranger, but I especially enjoy being my elven self," she retorted boldly, her muscles tensing just a little. Yet even as he drew knew, he merely brushed past her to join his companions. Had Velwyn just felt a brush with death? Interesting fellow, this one was... |
| MaskedOne07-11-05, 12:27 AM | The mage, keeping his focus on Lolita, comments: "I am Elloric of the house D'Arcane. I am here because the young fledgeling in front of me has managed to aquire far more attention than most vampires her age and because the Elders of the D'Arcane have an interest in what direction you, Sir Nightfiend, seek to take the vampiric species in. I am also here because the lot of you are on the verge of becoming very noticeable and I dislike collateral damage." "As for your fate, Lolita, provided that you do not attack anyone, you will live through this night. That guarantee holds regardless of what path you choose. I may doubt my ability to defeat Ryan and Asgar but carrying you out of their easy reach is child's play. However, that guarantee is only in effect for this one night so that you may choose free of compulsion. If you walk down evil roads then after this night, you will have to rely on the skills, powers and allies that you may gain through that allegiance to defend you. Further, if after this night, your choices interfere with the business of my house then you will meet me under far less pleasant circumstances. Your safety is guaranteed for this one night and one night only, so make your decisions well. Changing the wrong choice is rarely easy and living with it is even less so." Power practically hums around the mage as he speaks and his tone conveys that power as well as an utter calm. This situation has yet to faze him in any way. Exact details of any magic on him are hidden by enchantment, but he is not bothering to hide the strength of his art during this conversation. |
| Bewildered07-11-05, 01:34 AM | I grow weary of this. Ryan what is your will? Is she worth turning back? Telepathically( And what of this mage fellow? His blood is very worthy of... consumption. But lets see what he has instore.) Letting his form liquify, Asgar runs thru the fountains water and up towards the top. There he reforms and stands atop it looking around the city, then looking down at Lolita. Well vampress what say you? |
| MaskedOne07-11-05, 01:48 AM | Elloric glances at Asgar. "Impatience is not liable to be helpful to anyone tonight. You and Ryan may be more than ready to make swift decisions but the child still seems to be on the edge of a nervous breakdown. Until that changes, any decision on her part is liable to be the same thoughtless, emotion driven foolishness that has gotten her into her current state. That is not useful to anyone. We have several hours before the night is through and between us, we are more than capable of securing a location against intrusion from most beings." Elloric begins to slowly approach Lolita. If she starts to move away or challenges him, he will stop. Otherwise he will approach to 5 feet away from her. |
| Lolita07-11-05, 01:34 PM | Lolita wavered slightly, feeling nearly every emotion of uncertainty flow through her. She glanced down at the locket hanging about her neck, then to Asgar as he stood above her, and then finally to the mage Elloric as he drew near. So much had happened in such a short time... her brother had betrayed her and had died for it, she had made potential friends into enemies within hours, and now she was being forced into a life shattering moment of desicion. She could feel her head swimming with dizziness as she blinked several times. And what of her Shadow Master? Why hadn't it contacted her yet? Was this locket no use? Was she not under its protection? If a lord wouldn't protect her, then who would? Lolita stumbled forward and fell to the ground... grief overwhelming her. |
| MaskedOne07-11-05, 10:25 PM | Elloric looks at the talisman. How quaint, a token that can probably be acted through. Under different circumstances, challenging its maker might be fun. However, that would be a violation of my guarantee of safe passage. That does not mean however that I have to grant free access to the girl. OOC: The next set of lines assumes that Lolita is simply grieving. If she's passed out then either ignore it or assume Elloric woke her somehow. Whichever is preferred. End OOC: Elloric crouches down in front of Lolita. The fire in his eyes hides itself leaving simple human brown and the mantle of power that he's worn recedes. His next words are in something remotely close to a gentle tone and do not convey power. "Child, there is a time for grieving. You will reach it quite soon. Right now, however, you need to be in control of yourself and thinking. There is much to be done this night. We cannot proceed however with you in this state. It would also be wise if we do not proceed with that trinket around your neck. Such things can occasionally be acted through, it would be very bad for all concerned most of all you if the maker of that talisman chooses to reveal himself in our presence. It will also not do to have an outside power meddling with your thoughts when you are deciding your fate. I have a box that I believe can contain that thing safely but you must take off the token. For me to take it by force would place me in violation of my own rule regarding your safety this night. Will you place that talisman in my keeping for the duration of this night? When dawn reaches us, you will be able to either reclaim it or I can destroy it. The choice will be yours." Elloric looks over to Ryan: "It may be wise to take our business elsewhere. While we probably can secure this area for as long as we need, it would be both noticeable and wastefull, not to mention unnecessarily dangerous. There is a chance that this Shadow Master can act through or upon the child without the aid of his token. While I can prevent that from just about anything short of a god simply by extending my own personal protections, it will provide a hindrance that coupled with another form of attack could prove quite unpleasant." |
| Lolita07-12-05, 01:32 AM | Lolita falls into his arms, unaware of what she was doing. Such concern in his tone, such a gentle concern he held for her. But why? She listened carefully and then took one more glance at her locket. The thought of defying her new master sent a chill through her body. And as if the shadow had heard her, she felt a voice inside. "It is useless to listen to that human. You're hungry, little one, feed on him when he least expects it, and then run. The other two will be wary to follow you," came the wavering voice inside... her all powerful master. "No! I won't do it, I wont! I can't!" she screamed out loud suddenly, startling everyone near her. Lolita tore at the locket on her chest and flung it away, watching it tumble down the cobblestone street. It glinted ebony black in the starlight, winking at her. |
| MaskedOne07-12-05, 07:50 AM | Elloric catches the vampiress and shifts to one knee so he can maintain his balance. Elloric narrows his eyes at her sudden action when she throws the pendant. Hmm, meddling shadow masters what fun. I guess I get to return the favor now. Hmm, better do this silently, it's gonna hurt like hell. Elloric's closes his eyes and his skin pales for a moment while his staff commences to glow. While it should be less obvious to Lolita because Elloric is actively keeping a more human face for her, Elloric's power rises up again. This time however it is extended around Lolita as well (provided nothing interferes and Lolita doesn't step away). OOC: Elloric has extended many of his defensive spells to cover Lolita. Most notably, his mental protections are extended to interfere with any outside meddling in her mind. The effect fails if Elloric loses physical contact with her. The staff is glowing because he needed to call on it to work this out without speaking or gesturing. End OOC: Down the street a cold iron box appears with glowing runes inscribed on it. Unless something interferes, Eloric will reach out telekinetically to lift the locket into the box. After which the box will close and disappear. Then Elloric will wait for a while allowing his protective magic to act on the rather massive migraine that he aquired silently extending his defensive magic. |
| Lolita07-12-05, 12:45 PM | Lolita feels a sudden calming warmth flood over her, something she hadn't felt in what seemed like ages. Soon all thoughts of the Shadow Master ignoring her seeps away. She remains unmoving, breathing softly. |
| Bewildered07-12-05, 02:39 PM | I will take thissss. Asgar sweeps down the fountains waters and snatches the the chain of the chain, right before it falls into the box. This will be needed to track down the master. You are not going to dessstroy it are you? Asgar's muscles tense for a moent upon touching the amulet but his face is unwaivering. |
| MaskedOne07-12-05, 04:02 PM | "Not at the moment, no. Later, probably, after any use that can be made of it has. That box is a tool of containment. I prefer not to have that focus of evil in the open until we are ready to deal with it." To Lolita: "Now would be a good time to stand, young one. Keep hold of my wrist. My power should protect your thoughts against anything short of a god but I can only extend my personal defenses to someone that I am in physical contact with. Later on, I can arrange better but this not the time or place for complex spellwork." |
| Lolita07-12-05, 06:46 PM | Lolita does as she's told, standing up with him slowly, grasping his hand frightfully. "Would the shadow really get into my mind?" she asked quietly, glancing at Elloric, and then up to Asgar. |
| Bewildered07-12-05, 07:27 PM | Shadows are wirely little devilsss. They weave an intricate web in the minds that they overcome. Asgar lets the amulet drop into the box. Backing up he folds his arms and assumes a less noticable form. |
| MaskedOne07-12-05, 10:00 PM | Elloric stands with Lolita. "Vampires are often immune to the mind magics that can be used on humans, however, there are other forms of art that can affect your mind with the greatest of ease if you aren't ready to stop them. It is those that I'm concerned about and the reason I'm going to the bother of extending my personal defenses rather than using far simpler routes that don't require me to maintain physical contact. The standard defenses are not guaranteed to work against tricks designed for use against the undead. There typically is no need because magics that control the undead are often worthless against the living. My personal defenses however are sufficiently thorough that just about any magic in existence that I do not allow will be contested in some form or fashion and if by some strange chance there is something that gets through, I should be able to suppress it before it becomes dangerous." Elloric grins slightly, "Don't worry too much, I quite literally make a habit of staking my life on how good my magic is. I haven't lost a bet yet on the subject. I have absolutely no wish to change that now." Elloric looks at the box and it closes and disappears. "We'll be much safer with that trinket elsewhere. The locket was the greater threat, I simply have a fondness for paranoia. As such, you are temporarily one of the most heavily warded young vampires in history." |
| Lolita07-13-05, 12:06 PM | "Let's get moving, then," she says briefly, suddenly alert and clear minded. The streets and allyways around them were all but deserted, and it seemed no hunters were out and about tonight. That was fortunate for all of them though. |
| MaskedOne07-13-05, 01:35 PM | Elloric looks around allowing silver fire to bleed back into his eyes and mentally scanning over his defensive mantle to make certain that extending it didn't have any unpleasant side effects. "Have a destination in mind?" His voice is still relatively normal compared to some of the voices he's used. |
| shadow of death07-14-05, 08:58 PM | ((finally back)) As the others speak, a shadow lengthens slightly, taking on a more physical form, a pair of dark eyes peering out of the darkness, followed by the rest of the figure, his form concealed by a black cloak and cowl, his hands hidden within the cloak, but two scabbards slightly visible, along with a few strands of white hair within the cowl. the figure says nothing, yet. |
| Bewildered07-16-05, 12:22 AM | Asgars pointed ears twitched a little when he felt the presence of the unwanted visitor. He couldn't see him but he had a knack for FEELING stuff like this. Yessss, it seems we have a little friend about us mage. Might I suggest we make haste. |
| Lord Tarran07-16-05, 02:22 AM | Ryan has stood thoughtful this entire time, unsure of this mage's intenetions, but glad that the mortal was able to take the Shadow Master's locket away from Lolita. With it gone, even if only temporarily, Ryan felt certain he could help the young vampire out. of the trouble that was caused. Ryan turns towards Elloric, his eyes narrowed and feral, but his voice calm. I think it would be best now, Elloric, if you left young Lolita in my care. With the locket removed, I no longer have to threaten her dusting. I will keep my location easy to find tonight, you will be able to find us at dawn. But tonight, I believe, this fledgling needs to be free and hunt. Among her own kind, I think she can sort out her wishes. He glances to Lolita. I know an exquisite den of murderers, just begging to be picked off by fang. |
| MaskedOne07-16-05, 11:55 AM | Elloric's eyes flare brightly and glowing fog rises into the street. The area that Lolita, Ryan, Asgar and Elloric are in remains clear but the fog is close by and covers a great deal of the area around them. Turning to Asgar: "The fog will disrupt scrying and most forms of sight. It also muffles our voices. We should still move soon but it provides some measure of defense and privacy for the next minute or two while decisions are made and it will conceal to some extent the route by which we leave. It can also very quickly become a cloud of lightning gas, much like the breath weapon of some dragons, if I should need it to." Elloric turns to Ryan. "Lolita remains free to do as she sees fit. I will not interfere with her choices on this night unless innocent lives or her own safety require it. I would prefer to have 5 minutes in safety so that I can guarantee some measure of defense for her mind but the choice of whether to wait that long remains her own. I do not suggest assuming that she is safe because the locket has been removed. I both can and have controlled vampires three times her age from a distance without the need for such amusing trinkets as that toy. On general principle, I assume that unknown enemies are at least as good as I am. Regardless I will be close enough to act. I have made a guarantee of safety, that guarantee does not expire because you are no longer an immediate threat and I trust you to uphold my promises almost as much as you trust me to uphold yours. Whether I am visible and talkative is Lolita's call at the moment, but I will be nearby. Unless someone here kills me off, that is not open to negotiation." The hand Lolita has remains open and Elloric's other hand contains his staff. Lolita may step away whenever she wishes. Elloric does not currently have an alternate defense in place for her, however. |
| Lolita07-17-05, 12:24 PM | Lolita glances towards Ryan, feeling her heart race at his suggestion and the thought of blood. Then she glances back at Elloric, the kind mage. "It seems I must go with Ryan," she says to Elloric quietly. After that she turns and goes silently to Ryan. |
| MaskedOne07-17-05, 09:54 PM | A dangerous choice but if that is the child's choice, then it must be honored. Hmm, there is one defense she may carry. It isn't as good as I'd like but it will do. Elloric closes his eyes: "If that is your choice, then it will of course be honored." The defenses around Lolita fall back toward Elloric as soon as she releases his hand. Once Lolita is a step away, Elloric lifts his staff and whispers 3 sharp words. The staff shimmers for a moment, the physical staff seeming to be an illusion covering a rod of blue-white fire. Then it returns to normal. The staff then floats over to hover in front of Lolita. "Each member of my house creates 3 things that stay with them, continually being modified over the course of their life. One of these items of power is a weapon of some form. Some make daggers, others swords, bows, wands, heck I saw a magic garrote one day. I prefer to stick to the simple and traditional, hence a staff. The weapon in front of you is 25 years old, it has been modified at least 20 times over those years and contains many potent enchantments. The vast majority of these will be utterly and completely worthless to you. However, it does have an interesting weave that will provide some limited defense. It strengthens an authorized bearer in both body and mind as well extending certain very basic, yet very effective defensive magic. It is not perfect and will not serve as well as my mantle does but it will defend without providing the hindrance of keeping in contact with an out of shape, slow moving and slightly talkative human. Consider it a loan till I'm certain that such defenses won't be necessary." Elloric then whispers two more words and disappears in a short blaze of silver fire. A raven with distinctly silver eyes flies out of the blaze, the mist opening to provide a narrow path out as the raven flies through. The path remains when the raven lands at the edge of the mist, waiting. OOC: The staff, which could safely be considered broken for most of the world if it were ever statted would in game terms provide a bonus of +5 to Wisdom, Constitution and Dexterity as well as a +5 to all saves. It also has a variety of other powers but none of them are available to Lolita. Partly because she doesn't know the command words and partly because Elloric didn't provide that much access to its power for her. |
| Lord Tarran07-17-05, 10:48 PM | Ryan watches as the mage goes, and looks at the staff. Thinking the mage quite silly for thinking that a vampire would need a weapon other than her own, Ryan turned to Lolita. "I believe you have made the right choice, pet." He says calmly as he strolls towards the end of the mist opposite the raven. "We shall go feed, and then we shall see what we can do. I think that it might be time to bring you to my Undercity. " He pauses in obvious thought. "But first we hunt. Can you shadow walk at all Lolita? Like you see me do near constantly?" |
| Bewildered07-17-05, 11:23 PM | These tangable weapons are not needed mage but... Thank you for your concern. Asgar turns towards Ryan and Lolita. Baring his teeth he hisses. Yessss, it seems that you have come around my pet. Let us show you what a real Vampire does with its skills. |
| MaskedOne07-18-05, 12:53 AM | Elloric's voice whispers along the wind. "The staff is not there because I believe that Lolita will need a weapon. If I thought that then there are other weapons of lesser power but more suited to her nature which I may call upon. The staff is there because she stands outside my mantle and thus her mind is as far as I know undefended. As Lolita has chosen to move quickly rather than wait for me to make other preparations, I am extending the best lasting magical protections that I can on short notice that don't involve transforming into an item that can be easily carried. An idea that has precious little appeal to me since it distinctly limits my abilities to act if I should see need to interfere. " Should Lolita follow Ryan or choose an alternate path through the mist then the raven will follow and the mist will clear along the chosen path. Should Lolita take the cleared path or remain where she is then the raven will wait. |
| Lolita07-18-05, 12:13 PM | Lolita smirks at the two vampires, listening to their silly comments and such. She seems to slide through the shadows as if she knew the shadows intimately. "You are easy to mimic, Ryan, no worries," she says to him softly, darting to and fro through the darkness. "Oh and Asgar," she calls to him, "What makes you think I have come around... for I am not your pet." They continued down the dim streets, the candles in the street lamps diminishing as they pass. "Ryan, let us taste innocent blood, I hear it is more satisfying and sweet as nectar," she implores, darting in front of him playfully. |
| MaskedOne07-18-05, 01:01 PM | Elloric in his raven form stays a bit above the group. If Lolita didn't grab the staff, then it will disappear. I do hope your simply teasing child, Elloric thinks to himself. This could get complicated otherwise. |
| Bewildered07-18-05, 02:25 PM | True you are not a pet of mine, simply a term of endearment young one. Would you rather be my prey then my pet? Asgar's wings sprout from his siezing back and his muscle bulge with anticipation of fresh blood. His eyes squinted and feral, red with a blood lust fury. Letsss do thiss right.... He says leaping into the air his wings finaly spreading to their full width. |
| Lolita07-18-05, 04:08 PM | Lolita watches Asgar with narrowed eyes. "I have a feeling that I'll soon be prey if I don't keep my eye on you," she says to him, turning to Ryan once more. |
| shadow of death07-18-05, 04:23 PM | The dark figure once again leans up against a nearby wall, arms folded across his chest, his cowl concealing his features. He watches and listens, but makes no attempts at any conversation or makes no threatening moves. |
| Lord Tarran07-18-05, 05:46 PM | Ryan chuckles darkly as he too flits into the shadow. No innocent blood for you tonight, Lolita. You are still to close to the darkness. Impure blood makes you stronger, hardier, and honestly, a better creature. Follow me. He glides within her sight, but waits. |
| Lolita07-19-05, 11:38 AM | She trails after him, finding the abandoned streets to be unsettling. "All we will find tonight are hunters, Ryan. Look, there's no one out and about!" she remarks, skipping along beside him, her dark waves of hair shimmering in the moonlight. |
| Vyrilless07-21-05, 01:52 PM | She watched silently from the second story of a nearby building, concealed from the senses of the living dead. "Jackpot..." she whispered almost breathlessly, the sound not carrying past her own ears. Amber, kohl-lined eyes shifted again to the cloaked and shadowed one. "And you...I'd know ya anywhere, Darky." A smirk crossed rouge-painted lips. "Guess it's game time." Straightening her tall, willowy form, she slunk back from the window and brushed down the stairs and towards a closed door, her gloved hand reaching out to tap softly three times with a pause and then two. The door peeked open just a crack as a man glanced out, then opened just a bit wider to where three other shadows could be made out huddling against the wall, the man's wife and children no doubt, but it didn't matter either way. Extending her hand over the man's, a small white bead was dropped into his hand. "Don't ya worry none now. I've got their trail. An' remember...ya see any deaders, throw that down as hard as ya can an' r--" A nod, then the door closed quickly, almost without any time for her to pull back her hand. "...friendly folks..." she muttered under her breath. "Can't blame 'em though." She stopped in a shaft of moonlight, brushing straight the red velvatine top and dark indigo dyed leather breeches. Then running a hand through her wine red hair she turned and made her way out the back door. Within moments she was trailing the party of vampires down the street. ((OOC: Rill is warded by the basic effect of an invisibility to undead spell)) |
| MaskedOne07-21-05, 10:52 PM | Power, there is power in the air and it is not mine. Elloric circles in the air twice. His voice carries on the wind to Asgar. "Power follows us and it is not mine." Elloric circles higher, subtly shifting into an owl. OOC: Is Rill hidden in any way from an owl's vision? Does Lolita have Elloric's staff or did she leave it behind? ENDOOC |
| Bewildered07-22-05, 01:37 PM | Sniffing the air Asgar senses a being but cannot find its definate position. Swinging his vision back to Ryan he calls out. Brother, we have a new visitor. One of the mortals they call "powerful". Asgars wings flutter softly, then build up to a quiet roar. floating inches from the ground his hands ball into fists and his eyes burn brighter. |
| Lolita07-22-05, 03:00 PM | ((left it behind)) Lolita walks arm-in-arm with Ryan, anxious to taste blood... even if it wasn't innocent blood. After a moment she glances back at Asgar. "A hunter perhaps? No need to become furious... remember what happened to the last hunter? We left him behind easily," she muses, her eyes glinting in the faint light. |
| Vyrilless07-22-05, 03:38 PM | Trailing a ways behind the party, Rill kept her footsteps silent and herself hidden out of sight as much as possible, tracking the party until they stopped. A smirk crossed her face as she hid within hearing range. And here I haven't even gotten to know 'em yet, she thought to herself, palming a two small beads, one with a swirling pearly surface, another that crackled varous shades of yellow, orange, and red. Closing her hand around them, she stepped out from her hiding spot, the magic as of yet concealing her from sight, and hurtled both beads at the grouping of vampires. As her actions became aggressive, the warding failed, revealing her fully to sight, a wild and colorful woman, tall and lean and with more the look of a daredevil than a hardened hunter. As quickly as she's glimpsed, she's gone, slid back around the corner that hid her as she waits for the beads to take effect, one blossoming into a globe of white energy that could shame the sun, and the other erupting in an all-consuming dome of burning fire. ((OOC: The beads explode upon impact with a solid surface, whether that be the ground, a building, or one of the characters. The white bead is positive energy, which is meant to disrupt the negative energy that animates undead normally and eat away at their flesh, and the reddish bead is, of course, fire in a similar effect to a fireball-type spell. If you need to know more, just PM me :) )) |
| MaskedOne07-30-05, 01:01 AM | A hunter, wondrous. Just wondrous, I hate doing this. Elloric screeches once in owl form when the hunter steps into the open and disappears. He reappears between the hunter and the vampires, having reclaimed human form. Light shimmers next to him and Elloric holds out his hand, waiting for his staff to form. OOC: Elloric's protective mantle can take just about any magical attack. It can be dispelled with a great deal of power and certain very high powered spells might be strong enough to get a partial hit on Elloric but unless those pebbles were set up by an archmage to be very, very deadly then Elloric has nothing to fear from them other than eyesore from the flash of light. END OOC |
| Lord Tarran07-30-05, 10:57 AM | Ryan is not sure whether he is more annoyed with Elloric refusing to leave him and his group in peace, or that Elloric thinks that Ryan didn't know, or this idiot hunter. However, at the moment, it mattered not. Moving a great deal faster than could ever be hoped for a mortal, the Original moves to in front of Elloric, smoothy sliding between the two marbles as they fell towards the others, and around the corner towards the hunter. ' She was fool hardy, to say the very least. Ryan had sensed her long before she had started tracking him and the other vampires, and he had hoped she would strike, a perfect oppurtunity to test Lolita, as well as to gauge these newer hunters entering the city. He had moved too fast for mortal eyes a moment before, but as he stopped moving behind the hunter, he came into view. He taps her on the shoulder once, allowing her to make a move before striking her with an open palm with a blow strong enough to send cattle hurtling. |
| Lolita07-30-05, 12:37 PM | Lolita feels Ryan surge away from her and she sighs... Was she ever going to get a chance to talk to him alone? She shakes her head and continues walking slowly through the shadows, eventually coming to a lamp post where she leans on it casually. Hopefully Ryan would be swift and return shortly after ending that hunter's life. Her eyes narrow to slits as the last bits of seething hatred burn within her. |
| Bewildered08-01-05, 09:41 AM | Asgar pushed hard downward with his wings, like a dive defying gravity he darted straight up. A gust of wind unsettled Lolita's hair. Telepathicaly to Ryan: I hate these kind of disturbances. |
| Lolita08-02-05, 01:29 PM | ((OOC: I will be gone until next Monday on a vacation to lovely Texas, so uh... just letting you all know that I'll be gone for some time. Hopefully this thread doesn't go out of control while I'm gone, but I'm sure it won't. Erm... I think that's all I have to say. Farewell for now!)) :P ~Lolita~ |
| Bewildered08-02-05, 02:26 PM | ((OOC !OMG COME DOWNTO DALLAS U CAN SEE ME! lol)) |
| Lolita08-03-05, 10:26 AM | ((OOC... hah! I'll be flying into the airport... well bye bye)) |
| Vyrilless08-12-05, 11:18 PM | ((Apologies for the delay, things are a bit busy for me IRL right. Hopefully I'll be able to reply soon, though)) |
| Lolita08-13-05, 12:06 PM | ((Yeah, I'm pretty busy too. School starts soon... :( )) |
| Vyrilless08-27-05, 11:05 PM | ((My sincerest apologies for the long delay. Now back to the action!)) Most normal people likely wouldn't have seen Ryan move so fast, but Rill wasn't most people. Catching a glimpse of the approaching blur, she twisted under his hand, her body following lithely in an acrobatic tumble to the side and downward as her hand lashed out in a quick stab and a faint flash of metal in the dim light of the moon. The razor thin blade was aimed to jam precisely in between the kneecap and the knee from one side of the leg to the other, but Rill didn't stop to smell the roses so to speak. She continued her twist, the tail of her top flapping around her with the movement and went into a crouch. A quick glance showed her what she was looking for, and she sprang for it like a cat, her hand finding a catch on the sill of a nearby window where she pulled herself up, holding herself balanced on the edge as she watched for the vampire's next move. |
| Lord Tarran09-06-05, 02:03 AM | Ryan eyes revealed his surprise. He hadn't expected the female to move so fast. Though she had missed his leg, though ever so narrowly, she had slashed his pants. Very fast indeed, thought Ryan. He looked up to her, noting how she remained like a cat upon the wall. Smiling, revealing his fangs, he leapt up, landing on the roof of the building on which she hung. Looking down, he offered his hand. "Need help getting up?" He asked, a cruel hint in his tone. |
| Lolita09-06-05, 11:07 PM | Lolita jogs away from the lamp post and towards where Ryan and Asgar had gone off to. It would be a shame if she lost sight of them now... "Shall we feed on a huntress?" she calls into the night with deadly sarcasm. |
| Lord Tarran09-08-05, 05:58 PM | Ryan chuckled darkly, looking down with his dark eyes upon the woman, before shouting back to Lolita and Asgar. I would not be against it, my dear, no not at all. |
| MaskedOne09-08-05, 09:44 PM | Elloric shakes his head, slightly, as his staff finishes appearing. Foolish huntress, you do not openly attack a party with two elder vampires in it. Eh, the quality of adventurers these days. With a thought and a word, Elloric's magic provides haste far beyond the human norm and he drops into place jogging behind Lolita as she passes him. "This is going to be a long night." |
| Vyrilless09-20-05, 04:06 AM | ((Blargh, real life is really catching up to me. Sorry, but I'm gonna have to bow out of this one. Consider Rill unexplainedly vanished. Again, sorry 'bout this, but I don't wanna be holding up the thread or anything. Cheers and have fun, Rill's Player)) |
| Bewildered09-24-05, 01:52 PM | Damn... I lost sight of her. Ryan, do you see her? Asgar lands lightly on the ground and folds his wings back. Stretching his arms back he looks over at Lolita. Long night indeed it will be. One becomes accoustomed to this sort of distraction after a while. (( sorry guys like everyone else school, football, girls , and the hurricane have kept me from posting or even checking up on the forums but i'm trying to keep myself up to date good writing everyone keep it alive.)) |
