| Drindin10-06-03, 07:31 PM | Drindin wandered out of the school, and wandered down the road. He eventually reached a small town not far from the school, and stopped at the market place, where he began shopping for beasts of burden, packs, carts, rations, pretty much anything he'd need to start adventuring again. There were many a varied folk in this town, and he looked around, keeping his usual cold attitude. |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-06-03, 10:03 PM | Out of nowhere the dementist in his ragged black clothes and gauntlets appeared next Drindin, this man might of been the only one who hated Agudo yet he wanted to help him hoping they could become friends, but that was a differnt story "Hello I presume you are the one who contacted me, the names Dager I raise up my chains to you. I have heard you were kicked out of the school, tell me why?" THe deranged and tortured man burned from the inside looked past the man at something he could only see he was loosing his grasp on reality. |
| Drindin10-06-03, 10:06 PM | Drindin considered the man for a moment. "For summoning an undead beast into the halls of the school. |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-06-03, 10:15 PM | The man started paying attetion as the other spoke "Well I was going to be a teacher here, but I was proclaimed because I summon the dead and protected a student and then I was attacked, what a strange school I have been trying to teach people that capturing the dead in my mind is better than letting them rot," Then he turned his head around and continued "So I search for people mwho will accept anyone the true followers of light, there are very few, you sound like a good man, so where are we going?" He was paying attention now the sacrifice for having power is always great. |
| Drindin10-06-03, 11:06 PM | Drindin simply looked around the market. "I believe you will not be the only one joining me on this quest. There are a few I'd like to wait for first." Drindin looked at the available beasts of burden, and his eyes were instantly drawn to a jet black horse. He went over, and bought it. He then bought some steel barding and a saddle, mounting the horse after gearing it up. He brought it out, and continued to look around the market. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-06-03, 11:09 PM | As if intuitively feeling the presence of a likeminded person somewhere near, a gnome with no name and only half his past comes out of a small hideout btuin an inn's wall and some stacking carriages. He wears a chainmale, raching his knees, which probably used to be scalemail... most of the scales are now gone, and only his back is protected by them. Under tha chainmail is a white silken shirt, which bears some religeous insignia on it, yet the image is too obscure by the chainmail to distinct it. The back of his head is has a deep scar, actually exposing two of the neck's spinebones. He has many otehr scars as well. His head is completely bald, and so is his chin. On his face there are tuffs of torn hair, probably remains of a mustach and sideburns. The left of his chest seems slightly pertruding, as if he either had an overdeveloped muscle there, or was hidng there some object. Overally he seems as muscular as a gnome could be without becoming ugly. His other features are there to make him ugly, instead. Over his forehead is a wide band of brown cloth, apparently bordered by two strings of metal. It circularily covers most of the space betuin his eies and the top of his head, passing just above the ears. He looks at the two without saying anything. |
| kulideb10-07-03, 04:08 AM | Kulideb set off to find Master Drindin, it hadn't seemed fair to be pushed out of ths school when he had only been trying to help. She spoted him buying supplies. "em.. Sir.. I know I'm not very experianced but I would like to travel with you" Looking around she could she he had gatherd a few fellow travellers already. She looked up at the black horse. "will we all need mounts?" she hoped so. She stepped over to a bay mare and began to whisper into her ear, the mare seemed to understand. Kulideb looked back to Master Drindin and waited... |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-07-03, 08:32 AM | The gnome spoke in a doomed, pessimistic voice, as he observed all the three: "<People who will accept anyone>, you said, <the true followers of light>... you know, i'm just that kind. A halfling bardess i used to fancy used to sing: <I don't know who you are but i'm... I'm with you!>. Well, i say, my mind exactly. Oh, and i don't bother with mounts, i prefer to just run alongside... I'm very quick and lasting, you know." |
| Drindin10-07-03, 09:45 AM | Drindin turned the black horse. "If you prefer to ride, you may be my guest. I know of a town that sells pack horses and carriages. That'll be our next stop. Mean while, only pack what you need to get us there. |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-07-03, 09:53 AM | “STOP I SAID!” just down the dusty road was a dwarf on of things a donkey. “Yer a stupid ars of a” The donkey seem to totally ignore the angry dwarf, she just kept troding along. “If thy stubborn brain doesn’t listen, I be taking me axe and” As if by some strange trick of a prankster, the donkey stops hard and throws the dwarf off. “Aaggg ouch!” the dwarf landed right in front of Drindin and Kulideb” face first in the dirt of course “Spew, yuk!” Just then as he lifts his dirty and scratched face, some recognize him as Rocky. “Bloody hell of a” whatever was said was drowned out by the donkey laughing, with its naying, and its happy trot in one spot. Rocky stands checks his armor and was just about to slap the beastie, when he realized the others were looking “Uh what’s this? Thou must me the ones I be looking for, tis good to know my luck has held enough to make me, um, well planed entrance. Rocky, even under his beard, seems to turn a light red color of embarrassment. |
| Drindin10-07-03, 09:57 AM | Drindin Remained quite stoic, but inside he just wanted to laugh. "Er, perhaps I should get you a war-pony? Probably something a bit less... stubborn." Drindin tossed each of the party members a bag of gold. "Go out and by your supplies. We meet here at sundown and we head out till morning. We should reach the town by then." |
| Opaque Divinity10-07-03, 10:42 AM | *The peaceful mage calmly wanders down the roads. He listens to the birds singing and enjoys the fresh breeze. He sees Drindin and the party stand just some thirty feet away. He smiles widely and teleports the last thirty feet to stand in the middle of the party* Hi, sorry im so late.. Where are we heading? |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-07-03, 02:09 PM | The one who has no name let the bag of gold drop to his feet, pokes it slightly with his dirty mancatcher, and then picks it up and opens it to check the amount of gold. Most his weaponry was lost in a recent misadventure, and he is about to buy some new "tools". He wandered away towards the more fancy smithies, looking into the money-pouch, counting the gold. |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-07-03, 03:14 PM | The lean man cast out a black horse with red eyes and tentacles for a main and it belched fire it was another nightmare from a twisted mind "I would say this is a good amount of people are we waiting for others? he looked at the fine black horse the other had and thought this Drindin had good taste |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-07-03, 04:42 PM | When the mostrous steed appears, the gnome turns around sharply, dodging down at the same time, and observes the horse for quite some time, his expression slowly moving from waryness to awe. "Beutyfull mount. 'F i wren't so used to running betuin 'eyr legs by foot, i'd ask to ride him with you." He nods, then gets up and continues, entering a very expensive smithy. |
| kulideb10-07-03, 05:23 PM | She carefully picked up the bag containing the gold, she had never seen so much in one go (not even on a good night in her old life!) She went back to the stable and bought the bay mare. "Ssh, Cara, we will look after each other." Cara seemed to eye up the other two horses not sure what to make of them. kulideb left Cara at the stables. While she went in search of an old elf who made the most wonderful bows. |
| Drindin10-07-03, 06:08 PM | "A small town, south of here. We're going to pick up some pack horses and beasts of burden. Once we do that, we'll be heading north... very far north, to where the winter is never ending, and the trees are few." |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-07-03, 06:32 PM | When {after a long journey through the smithies, provision stores, and other marts} atlast the scarred gnome returns to Drindin's side, he carries a huge swallen backpack striped to his back. The backpack is of the highest quality, obviously expensive, and meant to last for long. It is larger than the gnome himself, and inside it holds all of the things he bought today, plus some of the things he had with him: 5 potions of unknown nature, stolen during earlier adventures; his dirty, long mancatcher, which he always had with him; a grateaxe of dwarven make, keeping the back of his backpack flat; a quiver with javelins, striped to the backpack's coverlace; a good, longlasting bedroll. lots of tasty and unusual provision a courtsy to his godess: the Dreadbite, resembling a beartrap on a chain. In his purse, only 13 golden coins remain, which menas he wasted Drindin's generous gift almost entirely. "I'm ready. I've a strange feeling we could probably survive for not very short, so maybe we shout introduce ourselves to eachother?" |
| Ryan,The Blade of Dragons10-07-03, 07:16 PM | ((sorry posted in wrong place... won't ley me delete)) |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-07-03, 11:49 PM | Rocky eyes go wide and picks up the bag “ I loves me gold!’ Rocky gives a missing tooth grin. “I have me stuff already, but don’t thy little head be thinking, I don’t be needing more latter. Tis good start though, ye go about thy business I sleeping with me mule, by the stables. Wake me when thee is ready.” Rocky jumps on the stubborn pack animal, lays back and within seconds, is sound asleep and snoring. |
| Drindin10-07-03, 11:56 PM | Drindin holds himself tall. "I am Drindin! Priest to the goddess of necromancy known as Wee-Jas. I was once a teacher of the domains of law and death, before I had, as Myranthor had put it, 'defiled' the halls of Agudo's School with an undead creature. I have heard of a place up north of great power where clerics of all stripes have traveled. I have made it my duty to follow in their steps to find this place. "You are the followers of the true light. The light that defines us as living creatures: We understand our limits, and many of us do not concern ourselves with petty squables between good and evil. And many of you do not concern yourself with battle between Law and Chaos, one which I fight in, siding with law." |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-08-03, 03:16 AM | "Hm, i for once am part of the spoils of war in these battles you mentioned, rather than a fighter on one of the sides. Though Chaos is recently withdrawing from me completely, and... well..." he clears his throat and speaks more loudly, and even with some hint of self-confidence: "I don't really have a name or anything of that sort, but i can fight, and i know my own godess is good to me... more than she is to her own children, strangely." |
| kulideb10-08-03, 03:46 AM | Kulideb looked up from her bow at Master Drindins words. She had always tried to follow a set of laws, just some times the laws she followed, didnt always seem to fit in with how other people saw the world. And she was always willing to learn something new. She tested the string on her bow, then repacked her bag. She gave Cara a pat. "I'm ready when every one else is." |
| Opaque Divinity10-08-03, 08:23 AM | I am ready as well. Can't wait :). |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-08-03, 08:49 AM | The others were yapping away about no one loves me, and no one understands me. To the point were Rocky could barely get any sleep. He turned on his arss “donkey” and made some bodly noises best left to the imagination and spoke up. “Thy poor pitiful pasts don’t interest me” He says as he eyes Drindin and Kulideb. “Ye should tell a tavern owner over some spilt ale, about it. I see I joined a bunch of philosophers, not brave adventures. Tis a shame really, du yor crying with yer low morale mommies! Or do ye be needing me to change yer diapers?” Rocky gives a good laugh when suddenly his stubborn donkey bucks him off, right on to the floor. “Offff blast ye!” The dwarf gets up rubbing his bum. “That’s it! I no can take it, yer as ugly as a donkey and as stubborn as a mule. To be honest me not sure if thee is a mule, or a donkey?!? Thy face is so ugly I could make ye look better by putting Dager face on thee.” The donkey winies and stamps its feet with more laughter, ignoring the insult about homely looks. |
| Opaque Divinity10-08-03, 09:12 AM | *Laughs heartedly at the Dwarfs insults and concerns* You seem to be jolly fellow. But how do you fare with an axe? That one you got there, seem to be taller than yourself. *The priest smiles mockingly* |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-08-03, 09:24 AM | The dwarf turns to look at the goody good “Santus?” “So thy brain is a comical bard, in the robes of a goody for nothing nice guy. Don’t ye be worried about me size, me axe may be taller, but where I be chopin, is the family jewels.” Rockys then gives a nasty look as if is thinking of giving a demonstration. :smirk: |
| Opaque Divinity10-08-03, 09:27 AM | *Laughs again* I like you, Dwarf. You might be a good laugh on rainy days. |
| Drindin10-08-03, 09:42 AM | "So, Dwarf" drindin says coldly. "You're willing to give up the aspect of gold, jewls, more gold, silver, and weapons of craftsmanship beyond you're knowledge simply because a few of us are clerics? My my, what a shame." |
| kulideb10-08-03, 02:14 PM | Seeing Rocky falling off the donkey bought a smile to her lips, having the dwarf along would brighten up the days ahead. "Are we already to go now." she asked Master Drindin. She had finished packing her bag. Cara snorted as if agreeing that they should soon be off. |
| Opaque Divinity10-08-03, 02:34 PM | Yes, I am quite eager to go adventuring now :). |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-08-03, 03:11 PM | "Don't waste money I can create steeds and beasts of burdens, money should be used on more inportant things like food," He said as his stomach groweled. |
| Opaque Divinity10-08-03, 03:16 PM | I refuse to ride on an undead creature. And it wont be nessecary either.. *Sanctus chants solemnly for a few seconds. Feathery wings sprout from my back, breaking the back of my robes. It looks quite like angel winds* Dont worry, im not an angel. Its just a nifty little spell :). |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-08-03, 03:22 PM | He expected many replies like this "Suit yourself does anyone want a steed?" He looked in his money bag and saw two silver coins it looked like saving money would be a good idea |
| kulideb10-08-03, 03:30 PM | Kulideb opened her pack up again and after a couple of minutes, her hand came out with some fresh bread, she tore some off and threw it over to Dager, his stomach growling made her realize she hadnt had lunch and it felt rude to eat and not offer food to the others. "Bread any one? I made it my self." |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-08-03, 03:35 PM | He caght the bread and gobbled it up he hadn't had food in awhile "Thank you kind mistress... ah I do not know your name," he dug into his coat and found some dry meat and ate some more. |
| Opaque Divinity10-08-03, 03:35 PM | Can I have a piece.. Smells good :). |
| kulideb10-08-03, 03:38 PM | "Hi Sanctus, of course you can," she then turns to the man the growly tummy, " I'm Kulideb, pleased to met you." |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-08-03, 03:39 PM | ((OOC: Who are you talking to?)) He tossed Sanctus a peice of meat "Of course we must share and work together if we are to succed," He ate the last meat, he was hungrier than he thought. |
| Opaque Divinity10-08-03, 03:42 PM | Originally posted by kulideb "Hi, of course you can, I'm Kulideb, pleased to met you." Oh.. I thought I knew you :). *Eats the meat and the bread* mmm.. The bread is quite good... But.. What is this meat? *Frowns* |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-08-03, 03:47 PM | "Sorry it is all I have i'm not sure what it is, it was in my pocket... He starts to look in the pocket again for something he could not find |
| Opaque Divinity10-08-03, 03:50 PM | Erm... yeah.. You look hungry.. You want it? *Holds the meat with two fingers and gives it back to Dager* You.. eh.. Need it.. |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-08-03, 03:54 PM | He chuckles yo him self and takes it he was hungry and amused he ate the peice he didn't care he was hungry "Thank you Sanctus," he never found what he was looking for. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-08-03, 04:54 PM | The gnome snaps out of his idle thoughts and observations. "Oh, by all means, take any of the provision i bought, just help yourselves to my backpack. Only don't touch the big fron pocket, i put there more special foodstuffs, meant for a celebration." He aproaches Dager, and turns his back to him. The gnome is not at all tall enough, but his bakpack is so large that it reaches a human's hand level. "Wouldn't wanna take it off, so just dig in. I myself am not hungry. You all, as soon as the hungriest of us has as much as he wants, you can take things too." Within the backpack's provision department are mainly cheeses and pastramae of all sorts. There are also a lot of thingies made of dough with some filling... but to discover what filling is in there, one'd have to try them. In much smaller amounts are fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as some sweets, probably ment for quick energyzation. There are also three bottles, probably with different wines, and a watersack. |
| Drindin10-08-03, 09:35 PM | Drindin turned his steed toward the town they were heading out to. "Let us be off then! Don't waste your food, it's a fortnights travel to the town." With a sharp kee-ya, the horse shot foreward with a great speed. |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-08-03, 09:57 PM | Rocky put away his axe and smiled at Sanctus and Drindin, I not be giving up treasure for his minuscule family jewels. With that he hops on his might donkey? “Yaha ye stubborn mule move!” With a kick and a shout the dwarf and his animal trotted off behind the others. He kept an eye out for rear followers, who may want to rob them on the way. But besides that it look like to Rocky, it would be a slow ride of boring conversation. |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-08-03, 10:08 PM | He turned to the gnome and picked out food and gobbled it all "Thank you I havent eaten like this for years," He couldn't talk he was stuffing his face with food. |
| kulideb10-09-03, 06:01 AM | She put her pack on to Caras saddle, checked the girth straps then jumped up on to Caras back. Kulideb then gave Cara a nudge and they set off after Drindin. It felt good to be back in the sadle, it only took her a few minutes to get into the rhythem of Caras cantering. |
| Opaque Divinity10-09-03, 08:02 AM | *Using his wings, Sanctus holds the same pace as Kulideb, drindin and the others* |
| Drindin10-09-03, 09:38 AM | It wasn't long for nighttime to come around. The sun went down, and the sky clouded over, bathing the entire world in pitch darkness. Drindin grinned, and lit his lamp, holding it so that the path would be visible infront of everyone. "Welcome to the time of the night. We'll keep traveling until these horses are tired. We'll rest then." |
| kulideb10-09-03, 10:27 AM | She pulled her cloak tighter around her self to keep out the chill of the coming night. Drindins lamp helped Cara to see, but the horse still seemed a little unsettled. Kulideb gave her a pat and rode on. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-09-03, 10:48 AM | After Dager's appertite was saticefied, the gnome made an indistinct friendly sound, probably meaning something in the way of "glad to be of help", and then joins the others... exept he doesn't ride anything. He runs, and does it as quick as the horses do, without getting any more tired than the aforememntioned mounts. By nighttime, however, he did begin to grow weary, and jumped at the "beautyfull" {in his personal perception} steed on which Dager rode. The gnome stabilized himslf behind Dager, and soon fell asleep. Though not being fastened to the monster's back, he fell shortly afterwards, and thus woke up, and had to chase the horse a bit. He mounted it again, and extended some laces from his backpack, with which he tightened the backpack, and with it himself, to the summoned steed's back, now lying on his belly, cought betuin the horseback and the backpack. |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-09-03, 03:19 PM | After the great meal he got on his nightmare as the rest started to leave "Hey Drindin what are looking for I don't have a clue where were going for this quest of yours," He wondered to himself what was he doing here also |
| Drindin10-09-03, 06:03 PM | The mounts finally grew weary, and it was well into midnight. Drindin pulled the obsidian steed to a halt at a nearby clearing, raising his hand to signal to the others. The mist had grown thick around their feet, and Drindin liked it. It added an atmosphere that he felt appropriate for his prayers. "We camp here tonight." Drindin hopped off his horse, and pulled out the two double tents. "One person will rest with me, then two more sleep together, we guard in shifts." |
| Opaque Divinity10-09-03, 06:10 PM | I dont think I will get any sleep. Im on the guard team. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-09-03, 06:25 PM | The gnome unstripes his bacpack's laces, with which he was fastened to his place, and jumps down from Dager's {supposedly} pseudonatural nightmare, proceeding to shake like a wet dog; the mist around the others' feet, to him, is a mist reaching his neck. "Atleast i can still see without showing too much..." he mumurs. He stretches and jumps a little, warming up after the long ride, and looks around, and speaks up: "What's so good about the middle of nowhere, is that there's nothing particularily bad about it. It doesn't inspire expectations of quick death, since dying in such a place just wouldn't be interresting... no one would find the poor thing, and it'd be casual as all hell. So, which shift would you like me to take?" He then walks around a little more, trying to gather branches for a campfire, expecting the others to join his effort, and suddenly says: "It seems appropriate that both Lesser Clerics sleep together. While one is on guard, he can be replaced by our resident ass-rider. No, wait... we're six! If each time one guards, and two sleep in each tent... oh, i get it, you expect me to sleep with two others, don't you?" He gave Drindin a blaming look, and suddenly changed the topic: "So, i understand you, our hiveleader, are called Drindin, and the other Lesser Clerist was addressed as Santus. I alowed myself to listen a bit before coming out to the bunch of you, so i heard that Dager is the name of our everhungry shaper of beauty." At that he bows to Dager; he obviously liked the tentacle-maned nightmare. "So how should i address you, my lady, and you, dear ass-rider?" He turns to Kulideb and then to Rocky, nodding to each. |
| Opaque Divinity10-09-03, 06:38 PM | You'd probably like that :smirk: J/K.. |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-09-03, 07:31 PM | Rocky snaps out of doldrums “Blast ye all what tis the problem?” He hops of the donkey “Ahh I see now, tis good to get some rest ” Then with the smart lip of the gnome about his riding a ass "donkey" "Me name is Rocky and for once I be taller than someone so welcome to the group. But if ye want you can sleep on me Arss "Donkey" :smirk: |
| kulideb10-10-03, 04:34 AM | kulideb smiled at the gnome. "Kulideb is fine, what are you called?" while saying this she helped gather up some wood. While she waited for the gnome to answer she looked around at the gathering mist and darkness. Her free hand went to the locket at her neck, it had been a while since she had prayed, and some how tonight seemed just right. Perhapse later when the camp had settled she would be able to slip away and offer a prayer. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-10-03, 06:47 AM | "Well, as i said, i don't really have a name or anything... some people called me Eyeslave, some called me Talktofiend, i had some other short-lasting names like Batwings - " The moment he sais that, something begins to move under his shirt. He frowns, presses his hand to the bulged left side of his chest, lowers his head, and murmurs: "Not even a word from you!" Then, still holding his hand tight against his chest, he looks back at Kulideb and Rocky. "Well, we should probably agree on shifts. Santus mentioned he'll take the first, and i suggest to save Lady Kulideb the need to guard this night. Rocky, Dager, myself, and the Hiveleader Drindin should deside the order of shifts... or just let Drindin deside. I'll kinda take any shift you'll have me take. If you object to letting the Lady sleep in peace, as some would, i'll jsut take her shift to add to mine. I'm very lasting, you know." |
| Drindin10-10-03, 09:17 AM | Drindin had the tents set up. "Santcus! You'll be taking first shift! You'll begoing second, Nameless One, and Rocky Dwarf-lord, you'll have the last shift. Kulideb, Dager, looks like you're spared for tonight. Time to decide on tents." |
| Opaque Divinity10-10-03, 09:25 AM | So be it. Try and get some sleep, all of you. *Sanctus sits on a big trunk some twenty feet away from the rest. He sits and ponders, while listening closely to the song of the forest* |
| Drindin10-10-03, 09:27 AM | Drindin nodded. "You go switch off in the second tent once you feel tired, and the gnome'll go up. Now, Dager, Do you even sleep?" |
| Opaque Divinity10-10-03, 09:36 AM | Okay.. |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-10-03, 02:51 PM | Rocky spits on the ground "Tis nice ye be helping the woman so. But I say she does the work like thou and me." No free loading!" |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-10-03, 03:13 PM | He looked through all of them to something only he could see and replied almost to himself "I'll be in dementia space, its so much safer, just call my name and I will appear," Then a black cloud formed around his head as he drifted into dementia space. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-10-03, 03:15 PM | "I said, if you insist on giving her a shift, I will take it." With this, the gnome takes his backpack off, and draggs it manually into the second tent. He unfolds his bedroll, and lays it near the backpack, ready to let anyone who doesn't have one sleep in it in his stead. The bedroll is well large enough to contain any creature of medium size. He digs in the backpack, and finds a small figurine, which one would have to come closer to see in detailHe puts it otop the backpack, then curls into a ball on the floor behind the backpack, and while looking at the figurine, mumbles words of prayer. Soon the tent's walls gain an unnatural shin, and the cold seems to be pushed out of it. The air is now rather warm inside the tent. |

| kulideb10-10-03, 04:14 PM | "I dont mind taking a shift, I quite like the dark, we will have to come up with a name for you master Gnome the ones you mentioned sound...well, like insults." She unrolled her blanket and sat down. On to the fire she put a cooking pot and began to put in a mix of herbs, water and veg. "How long till the next town, master Drindin?" " Oh, please help your selves to the food in the pot. I havent any meat but if you wait till I take some out for my self you can add what ever you want." |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-10-03, 04:59 PM | After finally finishing to pray, the gnome resumes straight posture, and walks out the tent. "Bah, fine if you insist. I will share it with you, though, i'll not let you guard alone, and i don't nead that much sleep ayway. Whatever it'll be, now it's the lesser clerist's shift, so let's go inside - you're obviously cold." He motions to the tent which is now unnaturally warm from the inside. "As to my name, all names were rather true, so i didn't mind them... i mean we're all slaves to our eyes: we act by what we percieve through them... Batwings was less true, but i enjoied it while it lasted, as to Talktof - " In the middle of his speech, a vicious, high-pitched, and split voice spoke as if from his chest: "They called ME Batwings, not you! You can't take my reputation to yourself! You would never be called thus if i didn't teach you how to fly! I would start brewing acid from your blood right now, if it wasn't a sure death to me as well!" The gnome was trying to hold his hands tight to the chest, but it didn't really help, the voice just became a little less sharp. The gnome ran into the tent, expecting Kulideb to follow, while yeling back at whatever spoke from inside of him: "Didn't i tell you to just shut up?! You'll get us killed if you burst out with your destructive pettyness everytime you don't like something i do or say! Since when does Your Vileness have any principals, anyway?! Since when do you care?!" |
| Opaque Divinity10-10-03, 05:06 PM | *Hears some strange noises from the gnomes tent* Everything okay? |
| kulideb10-10-03, 05:27 PM | Kulideb was a little surprised by the voice from the gnome chest. She watched him talk to himself then dash into the tent. "Oh, what on Faerun was that about." with that she got up and followed the gnome into the tent to make sure he was alright. |
| Drindin10-10-03, 06:27 PM | Drindin looks at the gnome. "Hmm... must be Symbiotic. Not many of those." Drindin moves into a tent, and comes out about half an hour later. "Kulideb, you'll be with me. Dwarf-lord, I suppose you'll share with the gnome. Wouldn't worry to much, he shouldn't be to much trouble. I'll go plant some sentries in the woods around here. They'll be rather difficult to see, just be careful about how you wave your holy symbols around. Wouldn't want to turn any of them..." With that, drindin set off into the woods, with a bag of grave dirt and some obsidian gems, and soft murmurs could be heard, followed by a gust of wind. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-10-03, 06:42 PM | The other voice was nothing like the gnome's own. The way it sounded splitted would raise doubt in any humanoid's ability to produce such sound. The tent inside felt eerily warm, in sharp contrast to the unpleasantly chilling air outside. It was also no ordinary warmness. The feeling, if one would contemplate on it, was mostly similar to being within the body of a living creature...exept that would probably stink, whereas the tent had no notable smell. Entering the tent, Kulideb could see the figurine in fron of which the gnome earlier praied: it was made of bone, in the shape of an egg, and had an eye inscribed uppon its surface. The gnome quickly took off his armor, revealing a shirt portraying the same symbol {an egg with an eye watching from inside it}, then took of the shirt too. On the left of his chest, where in his dressed form just an assimetric bulge could be seen, Kulideb {and anyone else who would enter the tent} can now see a red, fiendish face. It is outlined with claws, which it ppulls out and retracts as a feline beast, it's eyes are joined into one, prolonged eye with three pupils, one green, one red, and one black. Instead of a nose it has a thin, dark dunnel leading inside, where normally the gnome's left nipple would be. The tunnel pulsates slightly, and seems to lead much deeper than the gnome's back is found. Lower is the demon's mouth: It is cross-shaped, thus having 8 large, soft lips, and scarce teeth, sharp yet short, and turned inwards. The gnome and the demonic face growing from his own flesh continue to argue, now in a tongue that's not easily recognizable, unless someone around speaks abyssal, and it actually seems as if they were doing this for years. |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-11-03, 12:31 AM | Rocky takes one look at the bizarre gnome and decides stay out side. “Nay I think I be staying with me donkey tonight, maybe hold me axe a little tighter; after seeing thy crazy comrades talking to themselves. |
| Drindin10-11-03, 12:40 AM | Drindin shrugs. "Whatever you wish, Rocky. Now, we best be heading to sleep now. We've another thirteen days travel ahead of us." |
| kulideb10-11-03, 08:07 AM | Inside the tent was warm , The thing on the gnomes chest was some what of a shock. "I just.. wanted to see if you were all right." The gnome seemed to be having an argument with the thing. She looked around the tent and spoted the figurine. "Thats the same as the thing..." she said. The gnome seemed a little busy. She would have to ask about it later. She steped back out of the tent, every thing seemed very organized now. She would be taking a turn at staying watch with Drindin. She didnt feel the need for sleep, so she sat down by the fire. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-11-03, 11:43 AM | {OOC: same as what thing, Kulideb?} The gnome eventually managed to outscream his "little friend", and then, after packing the figurine back inside and putting both his shirt {bearing a symbol resembling that figurine} and armor back on, he takes a large piece of meat from inside his backpack, and runs out of the tent, calling the others: "I'm sorry for the disturbance, my lady, but now he successfully shut up... so comeon, Kulideb, Rocky, you both gotta have some sleep, and the cold mist ain't a good place to do so. Belive me, you both may not feel sleepy now, but you gotta sleep or you'll breake in the next daies!" Having said that he tosses the sizable brick of meat into the pot from a distance, and returns to the tent, determined to get some sleep before his shift, and expecting both Kulideb and the dwarf to fallow his example. He however doesn't fall asleep immidiately, feeling he owes some explanations to his comrades, and not willing to hide into slumber from theyr questions, should such come. |
| kulideb10-11-03, 11:52 AM | ((the Assimetric bulge, "thing" is easier to spell!) The gnome was now dressed again and seemed back in controll of him self. "I will rest now, Master Drindin would you please call me when its our turn to stand watch?" with that she went back in the tent. " Master Gnome, if you dont mind I would like to know a little more about you." |
| Drindin10-11-03, 11:56 AM | If one watched the woods closely enough, they could see the shadows as they moved about. The donkey it self seemed rather disturbed by them, moving more to the center of the perimeter they created. "Right then." Drindin said returning to his tent. "You're next watch, sanctus'll wake you." |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-11-03, 12:58 PM | When Kulideb enters the tent, the gnome sits on the ground, offering her the backpack {well large enough to sit on} or the soft bedrooll for her choice of seating. "Yeah, you're right... i myself thought there's not much point it hiding stuff. If you're allright enough to not totally gremlin-out when you saw my burden, bet you're calm enough to not get all achronish when you hear of my scars... So hey, you can ask stuff and i'll try ta give you the best answer a digger without name can provide" He smiles faintly, and draws some fresh fruits, vegetables, and boiled dough-things with unknown filling, offering her some, and chewing on some. |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-12-03, 12:37 AM | The dwarf is already a sleep snoring loudly as the donkey gets closer to the fire. It warms Rocky and allows him to relax. His chest heaves with every breath as his axe rest on his chest. |
| kulideb10-12-03, 04:10 AM | Kulideb thanks the gnome for the food, but does leave the dough things untouched (till she knowns whats in them!) "I hope you dont mind, but how did you end up with...well, the little chap?" (she was a little unsure how to ask.) Kulideb felt some thing strange, as if some one was walking over her grave. She tried to ignore the feeling putting it down to asking the gnome questions that might seem a little personal. Out side of the tent she could hear the dwarf snorring and the donkey moving around. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-12-03, 09:29 AM | "Oh, that, well... you see, when i was sort'a escaping a destiny worse than death... but i'm running ahead of my shadow, i should start at the begining." {He sighs and continues, while his hand digs into the backpack, getting out the same bone figurine he praied to: an egg with an eye looking from its surface.} "You see, i used to be a servitor for the Eye Tyrants. Why would i do this? Well, simply - they seemed the closest to perfection, the closest to eternal knowlege and ultimate potential to survive and breed, closest to ...HER." {He whispers a short word to the figurine, and it opens, cracking in half. From within it, seemingly much larger than it could contain, floats upwards a spherical shape. It is but a figurine too, yet its appearance, as well as unnatural levitation, are well enough to cause an unwilling shudder. It depictures a beholder, with tiny broken weapons and debris pertruding from its sides. Its mouth is opened in a terrible, carnivorous grimace, and its central eye seems to look at you no matter the angle betuin you and the figurine. There are no eyestalks, and the secondary eyes are aranged around the body. The figurine turns around slowly a few times, then descends back into the "egg", which then closes.} "They were... amiable to me, if not at first. I learned from them much about HER, as well as about other things i would not survive without, and they protected me, and gave me all i needed. But in return i did awfull dids in tehyr name. I killed for the Eye Tyrants, i ruined and sent to destruction for the Eye Tyrants, i negotiated unholy unitions, and dealt with fiends, and committed depravities for the Eye Tyrants! I was nothing much, but even for stupid little me it was eventually enough to uderstand what monsters they were, and how sinfull were the monstrocities i committed in theyr name!" {As he screams out the last words he practicly shakes with self-loathing. Then he relaxes...realtively, and continues more calmly.} "So at last i got it. I understood i gotta get out of there, leave theyr terrible schemes ehind, and serve HER on my own. I didn't have any excact memory of my life before i joined them - only an year before.. because when i did, i asked them to erase it. I didn't want my scars to remain. I only asked them to leave one year, so that i may not mistakely think that i was born among them. Anyway, with no real past, i had nowhere to escape... but i always had <The First Sky>. You see, that's how they called the surface. The surface was the First Sky, the clouds were the Second Sky, Wildspace was Third Sky, and for some reason, the afterlife and the Greate Ring were the Sixth Sky. So anyway, i thought i will escape to the surface, because i was famliar with it: i did much in theyr name on the surface." {Another anxious sigh, as he stuffs his holy figurine back into the backpack.} "But i didn't know a way. They always just had one of the Elders to look at me, and the next second i was there! I never knew of a way to get up there, exept by my masters' wills! Hell, i didn't even know it was -above- the realms i knew... So i searched. I don't know how i succeeded to come so far. People and critters recognized me from the tmes which i, by my own will, had erased from my memory. At rare times they helped me, but mostly they tried to get me, or tried to gain from reporting my escape to the Eye Tyrants. But my masters trusted me, and they belived i'm just going about my own business, and will return when they call. When the reports began being too suspicious, they did call... just to be sure. I didn't come, and they called again. This time i thought my head will explode from theyr call... but i praied, and my prayer was answered... and then they could no longer have me this way... so they sent others after me. But i escaped, and i came to a place where some said i could climb up to the First Sky." {He stops to relax, and swallows a few snacks, before continuing.} "It was hard, and i was hard, so we were at stakes. But the final gauntlet had a gate... and when i looked at that gate, i desided i must either dig my way through the hard rock around it, or turn back and live in hiding like a pest... or even return to my masters, which would surely slay me, for i resisted theyr call. And i stood, and i thought, what would i do... but then steems sprung, wheels turned, and geers moved - the Gate opened, and sent its tongue to devour me. And it did." {The voice some earlier heard arguing with the gnome, now rised in loughter from underneath his shirt and armor: "Hiaaaah! You should be a sodding POET, you pathetic lemurspit!! Heiahahaaiyyyyhhhghyayayahehea!!!" The gnome ignores it and contiunues.} "My body was at places mashed with jaws, and melted with acid, and penetrated with needles, and closed with stolen hellfire... But it spit me on the other side, and after a week of crippled, bleeding climbing, i saw the sun. When the Gate was mauling and puncturing me, it planted him into my flesh, so now we are one... But i was now away from my past." . . . The gnome pants as if he had just lived through parts of it over again. Well, he did speak rather quickly, so that could explain the tortured panting to some extent. |
| kulideb10-12-03, 04:05 PM | Kulideb sat quietly listerning to the gnomes story. She could tell that it took a lot out of him to tell it. she reached out her hand to him in friendship not pity. "Will he always be with you?" she asked. |
| Drindin10-14-03, 09:17 AM | The morning came swiftly.... After Kulideb and the gnome had talked, the sun was already rising... The mist still hung in the air, and the plants were covered in dew. It was quite chilly, and if felt like it should have been frosty, but luckily, it wasn't actually that cold. Small birds could be heard in the distance, and a raven crowed and chattered somewhere in the dense woods on either side of the path. Drindin was already awake, he was meditating crosslegged by a massive camp fire. |
| kulideb10-14-03, 02:19 PM | Kulideb steped out of the tent, she couldnt belive she had spent all night talking. She went a short distance from the camp. There she did a few exercises and freshed her self up. It was a wonderful morrning or at least she thought so, the air was still a little damp but hope fully it would brighten up later. The birds were singing, the sort of day that made you feel good to be alive. She made her way back in to the camp humming an elven tune to her self. Looking around she saw Drindin meditating by the camp fire. She poured two cups of water and sat down by him. She took sips from hers and offered the other cup to him when he had finished with his meditation. "Its such a lovely morrning, dont you think?" Kulideb said. "I guess we will be off again once the others are awake, may be I should start some breakfast." |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-14-03, 04:01 PM | Next to Drindin the dementist appeared with a few sratches here and there and a new scar on his right cheek "Flaming monsters got a little mad last night and let me tell you it wasn't pretty." He watched something in the forest move |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-14-03, 11:32 PM | Rocky slowly open his eyes "The light! Why is it so bright?" The dwarf then forgets where he is and trys to turn over. Bonk! "Son of a, What the?" Rocky looks a little upset. "I be planing that!" He says to the group, and gets up to kick the donkey. But the beast trots away, with what could only be said as a smile |
| kulideb10-15-03, 04:26 AM | Kulideb set about getting some break fast ready. "Well, it looks like every one is waking." She said as Rocky fell off the donkey and Dager emerged looking a little worse for wear. She looked over to the woods, she couldnt help feeling there was some thing there, but as she scaned the area she couldnt see any thing. She went back to the cooking and gathering up her belongins still humming the elven tune. |
| Opaque Divinity10-15-03, 05:27 AM | *Sanctus prays wholeheartedly for about a half hour, before eating a humble meal of breakfeast* |
| Drindin10-15-03, 09:08 AM | Drindin didn't open his eyes, but merely stated "Some one is coming" |
| Opaque Divinity10-15-03, 09:11 AM | *Turns around and looks at drindin* Huh? |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-15-03, 02:28 PM | "Yepp", said the gnome back then to Kulideb... and immidiately fell assleep. The unmentioned shift probablt passed without noteworthy ocurances. In the morning, at Kulideb's words Well, it looks like every one is waking, the one she shared a tent with walks out, already looking fresh {as fresh as he could ever look, and it isn't much} and fully awake. "Well, i'm ready. Need some help anyone? Hungry anyone? Exucse my habbit - i already had a meal before coming out. Ooooh, what's with Dager?! Didn't you say that demiplane of yours was completely safe? Ugh!" |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-15-03, 03:02 PM | He turned away from the forest "I forgot I had some new recruits to show whos boss, so anyone know what is in the forest?" He took in the smell of fresh food being cooked. |
| Opaque Divinity10-15-03, 03:08 PM | *Greets the gentlegnome ;) when he walks out of his tent* Hey drindin is saying that someone is coming.. Perhaps we should try and.. I dunno.. React? |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-15-03, 03:17 PM | "Well thats a good idea," He thought for a moment and then flung a hideous creatuyre full of arms with sharp claws "Hows that for reacting, that will get whats out there," He was the only one who thought that was funny, but that is the life of a dementist. |
| kulideb10-15-03, 03:18 PM | Kulideb stood, hand on her bow. But as Drindin didnt seem to concered she just waited to see who the stranger would be. Although Dagers antics made her smile! |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-15-03, 05:32 PM | After greeting Sanctus and Kulideb, and realizing no-one will react to him, the gnome turns to Dager "Wow!!!... May i ride it later this day?" Asks the gnome with an obvious touch of awe in his voice, when he sees the creature Dager pulled out of Dementia "But no, wait... what if it's friendly? Wait, let's see what it is, and face it fairly if it'll have a problem for us to face. Didn't our hiveleader say he had sentries guarding?" |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-15-03, 05:59 PM | He laughed at the thought of sitting on such a thing "You might not want to sit on it, you could lose a few body parts, well lets check this thing out," He walked up to the brush wuith his chains ready as he ran through. |
| Drindin10-15-03, 06:06 PM | There was nothing to be found, other than a few various birds and rodents, and many kinds of beautiful blew flowers unlike any other... |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-15-03, 06:22 PM | While the dwarf observes the monster, from his chest the unnerving voice rises again: "Why ride it, when yu can BE like it?.." The gnome's reply was relatively short" "Shut up, i don't see a limb growing out of YOUR eye!" |
| Gene_Kynes10-15-03, 08:56 PM | Drindin's sensitivity to the Weave proved him right...as a single blue flower turns a deep, ripe crimson, it's petals becoming fuller and fuller... ...until the petals begin bleeding. Drops of the vital crimson fluid fell into a puddle on the ground, refusing to be soaked up by the soil. If none try to dispel the flower's "wounds", the puddle grows as other flowers ripen, become rich with blood, and then weep the liquid onto the puddle. When the disturbing scene is over, and the flowers are left a drained, pure white...the puddle begins rippling, and a moment later...it bursts in response to a figure rising from it quickly, then landing on the nearby ground...in a crouch from his characteristically athletic jump. In an even more disturbing scene, the puddle then rises, forming a grisly tendril..and touching it's dark tip to the figure's neck, is aborbed with blurring speed. A close examination of this new man reveals nothing more but a black cloak under a red mantle, the darkened red mantle embroidered in gold near the clasps, the entire heavy garment hanging onto the medium-framed man's shoulders. Standing up, his red hood falling back, one can now confirm the gender...and appearent race of the figure. Richly tanned skin held to features that seem to've been carved by one of the Sunite's artisians. The visage is corrupted, however, by his eyes...which seem to burn a bright red. Daemonfey, elf bred to demon. He is clad in a loose black shirt tucked into his red pants, the entire inner clothing covered by a red robe. Somewhere, between the folds of the robe, you see a single rune-encrusted dagger....but only for a moment, as his stretches his arms out. Three red orbs float lazily to his head, and encirle his richly blond hair that falls past his ears...almost to his neck. Drindin, or others of high magical skill...could decipher the orbs as elven artifacts of sorts, a take on ioun stones...perhaps. A final noticable object on the man is a golden amulet that secures his cloak, mantle, and robes together...in the centre, acting as a kind of key, is a moderate-sized blood-red ruby. "Forgive my...lateness. I usually pride myself on punctuality. Well...Drindin...from the village...would you mind...my joining in this...group?" He looks at Drindin, and at Drindin alone...seemingly not caring about the shock his enterance may've carried. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-15-03, 10:14 PM | When the bloody scene have just begun, the gnome was quick to hide behind a large rock, looking at it with fear... but when the deamonfey formed, he stepped out of his cover, and spoke shily: "Oh, hi there." At the same time, in absolute contrason to his humble greeting, a twisted voice from under his armor squeeked: "Who's yer daddy!!!" |
| Drindin10-15-03, 10:40 PM | Drindin growled seemingly at the voice, looking back at the robed figure. "Good Morn' to you as well. Yes, let us begin." Drindin remounted his obsidian steed. "We have thirteen days travel ahead of us, let us be off!" |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-16-03, 02:21 AM | "Blast another magic user, nothing be good from that" he spits on the ground. "Like the boss said lets be going blondy boy, whats be thy name?' He says to the new wizard. |
| kulideb10-16-03, 03:59 AM | kulideb was a bit surprised by the mages entrance, but Drindin didnt seem to react, so she guessed he knew him. "well, now we are all here, we had better be off." 13 days with this lot she thought would test her mental state, but it was always good to push your self to the limits! She began to humm to her self as she waited for them to get ready to go. |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-16-03, 03:28 PM | He turned away and created his nightmare steed once again "Hey gnome do you still want to ride my other friend?" A smile on his face he would love to see someone ride it. He let his arm rise as he casted another creature the one he had named the Incinerater. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-16-03, 03:36 PM | "Oooh, thank you comrade! For the beggining of the day i'll jsut run along, like yesterday, but if i get tired before the mounts do, i'll happily ride your creation if you allow me to!", Says the gnome in genuine excitement, before turning to the newcomer: "So, Veiled One, you'll be joining us, right? Mind if i ask your name? I myself don't have any such thing, but you can kinda call me anything you want..." |
| Opaque Divinity10-16-03, 03:39 PM | ... Like gentlegnome... Right little Gentl'gentl'gentlegnome? :D |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-16-03, 03:43 PM | He turned to the gnome "I can get you ride and whaty is your name elf demon?" He turned to the dissoriented figure |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-16-03, 04:06 PM | “As the dwarf is talking with the new wizard and asks his name. Dager walks up like he is on drugs and asks the same question. Rocky rolls his eyes “Dager Is ye death or something? I just asked him that! How can this mage answer my question about his name, if thy drug soaked brain; cant think about what ye is saying!” The dwarf turns back to the wizard. “Well wiz boy everyone wants the million pot of gold answer. Thy Name!” |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-16-03, 05:03 PM | "Gentlegnome? Well, that surely sounds... gentle." He shrags and sits down on thr ground, concluding that no-one needs his assitance in anything right now. |
| Opaque Divinity10-16-03, 05:12 PM | Yep you little gentle gnome! |
| Gene_Kynes10-16-03, 06:55 PM | (( Sorry about the big delay...was at Ren Faire most of the daylight hours. Was a blast, thanks for asking. ;) )) "...For...forgive me. Many dreams flit across my vision, and at times...I risk drowning in the illusion. My name is Serathis." Looking to Drindin, the man simply nods, crossing his arms. "Let us go, then. And no, Chained One, all mounts weaken men. I doubt they have a different effect upon those of Elven blood." |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-16-03, 07:56 PM | "Oooh, another pedestrian just like me... let's go. " |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-16-03, 07:58 PM | "So Serathis what exactly are you, your a mage, but what kind?" He started thinking about what he could be... |
| Gene_Kynes10-16-03, 08:07 PM | Serathis...laughed. "My power rests in my veins, Chained One. All that is needed to know." With a smirk on his face, the haughty elf sighs...and awaits for them to continue on the path. All this prattle...bores me. |
| Drindin10-16-03, 09:39 PM | Drindin taps his horse's sides, and begins them back down the path, after packing up. ((I'll let everyone have one post before we I post again)) |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-17-03, 12:01 AM | “Well Hell! Now that we knows the name lets be going! Rather disappointed, with such a big build up for thy name Serathis” Rocky gives a kick to his donkey to get the stubborn beast going. |
| kulideb10-17-03, 03:53 AM | Kulideb looked over to the mage and nodded an hello. She picked up her backpack, then walked over to Cara and climed up into the saddle. She gave her a gentle nudge and the horse started forward. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-17-03, 08:29 AM | The gnome proceeded to run betuin the legs of other people's steeds, glad he is now accompanied by another principally-unmounted comrade. |
| kulideb10-21-03, 03:58 PM | (( I guess that the post in the occ thread was ment to go here!)) The 13 days seemed never ending and as much as she loved riding she would be glad to leave Cara in a stable for a few days. The company wasnt to bad but as the days passed so the talk lessened. kulideb found herself dreaming of a nice hot bath and soft clean sheets. Still the town couldnt be much further ahead now. |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-21-03, 04:08 PM | They were finnally heading out as he saw the gnome, he was amused by the cite of him running under the steeds he turned "So what does.. a er blood mage do anyway?" Glancing around the forest for any other people. |
| Drindin10-21-03, 06:17 PM | The nights came and went for the thirteen straight days the group travelled.... Hardships grew worse as they neared the town, and the few who didn't need to be carried were fealing sick with tired. But Drindin seemed cold to their suffering... perhaps it was because he was suffering himself... Strangely enough, the horses showed no sign of giving up the entire journey... The lights of the town shone brightly in the distance of the thirteenth night of travel... a final beacon of hope for the brave, sick adventuerers. "We'll be stopping at an inn! I'm sure we could all use alot of rest!" |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-21-03, 07:23 PM | The gnome was, with maybe the sole exception of Drindin himslelf, the only one to not be exhausted by the trip. He had to run for his life in the past more than once... but even he was not imune to well-deserved fatigue. The last two daies he spent on something indestinct and denying classification, pulled by Dager out of Dementia Space, and was thus now wounded in a couple of places, from each attempt to mount and dismount the horror. Even through these two daies, during which he was too tired to run, he remained cheerfull, and tried to revive any conversation. Eventually, however, he realized that his companions are better off left alone for now. At the mention of an inn, however, he resumed his attempts once again. "Hooya! We're gonna be resting in an inn, people! Didn't y'all want it? Comeon, let's hurry into that settlement!" He made a movement with his knees, which would pass for spurring, if he was riding a horse, but the thing under him responded in throwing him down with a random limb, and running madly around him untill he got up and apologized. |
| kulideb10-24-03, 04:19 AM | Kulideb could all ready start to feel herself relax at the sight of the inn. She gave Cara a pat and urged her on. "Not to far now girl." |
| Drindin10-24-03, 11:42 AM | .((A picture of drindin, (c) Fairfeather on the Art Gallery forum!)) (http://babylon.dfxwebs.com/forums/uploads/cleric.jpg) They approached the large, run down inn. Drindin put his horse in the stable next to it, and waited at the door for the others. "Hurry then! We've not much longer!" |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-24-03, 12:45 PM | the gnome stopped beside Drindin, mounted on one of Dager's creations, waving to Kulideb as he passes her. He dismounts the big scary thing, calling the others. "Dager, Rocky, Sanctus, Serathis, come on!" |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-24-03, 03:32 PM | the gnome was beckoning them into the inn "What is the cost to stay in the inn?" He withdrew the monstrocity he wa sriding to his mind and walked into the cheery inn |
| kulideb10-24-03, 03:45 PM | ((like the pic Drindin!)) Kulideb eyed up the Inn taking in its run down state. She led Cara into the stable and removed her saddle and briddle. "Well, may be its better on the inside," she whispered to the horse as she brushed her down and sorted some hay. She then went to wait by Drindin for the others. |
| Gene_Kynes10-24-03, 06:10 PM | "A blood mage does what a normal mage does, Dementist." Smirking, the elf then turns his head at the call of his name, eyes already glowing a bright white...seeing that battle didn't await him, the elf tilts his heads down, chuckles in self-mockery, before holding the door open for the group, with...a smile on his features. Stepping in behind the rest, the three orbs soon dissapear, as does the smoky glare of his eyes...those orbs soon fading to a dot of black floating on a sea of white. "I will handle the cost, friends. You worry about resting." |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-24-03, 06:39 PM | The gnome says something casual and cheering to each of the ones who arived, but still staies outside, waiting fro Sanctus and Rocky. |
| Opaque Divinity10-24-03, 06:55 PM | Sanctus enters the inn, studying everything around him thouroughly* |
| Drindin10-24-03, 07:22 PM | The inn is basically your classic, stereo type in, right down to the large greesy man cleaning bottles behind the counter. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-24-03, 07:37 PM | The gnome smiles at Sanctus as he reaches the door, and seeing that now everyone exept the dwarf are inside, he mutters something and runs in the direction he came from, seeing wether rocky got stuck and needs help or anything. |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-26-03, 01:00 AM | Belch! “This is me kind of place! Now where’s the lovely ladies?” Rocky grabs a bottle of half drunk ale off a table, where a drunk had passed out and drank it gladly.” |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-26-03, 01:44 AM | Thanks to Rocky's drinking habbits, the gnome heard him from afar, and returned to the inn, concluding that they probably missed each other due to the fog. Once inside the inn, the gnome is quick to reach the bar and order a room. For just himself. To anyone who got to know him during the thirteen daies of theyr journey {most probably Dager and Kulideb, very likely Drindin and Sanctus, and maybe Rocky and Searathis too} it may seem strange, standing in complete contrast to his uber-friendly, hyper-social and hospitable behaviour, which he manifested regardless of the travel's hardships for almost the entire 13 daies. He bid goodnight to everyone, hastily and almost shyly, as if not being at peace with himslef, and trying to conceal his inner uneasyness. Without staying to drink with his comrades, he darted towards his room, and then returned immidiately, and ran to a remote, lightless corner, where he approached some person {no details can be made out in the dark without coming close}, made a movement that could pass for wiping sweat from one's the forehead, or brushing one's hair upwards and backwards {if it wasn't for him being bald}, then turned sharply to a very richly-dressed woman, after a moment lowered his head sharply, putting it into his hands, and then, after a brief pause, walking slowly back towards his room with a group of people. They get lost in the crowd, and it's hard to tell wether anyone exept the gnome himslef entered his room. |
| kulideb10-26-03, 05:01 AM | Kulideb looked over to Rocky, well hes making himself at home she thought. She looked around for the gnome and spoted him booking a room she made her way towards him but lost him in the crowd. She was a little puzzeled by his behaviour he had seemed quite friendly on the journey. She went up to the bar and booked a room for herself and a drink she then went to find the rest of the group as she wasnt sure she wanted to be alone in an Inn like this. |
| Gene_Kynes10-27-03, 04:06 PM | The Elf slipped in, his gaze averted down to the tavern's flooring...a shadowy beacon amongst the patrons, someone you'd think you'd notice...but somehow didn't. Slipping coin onto the bar, the man quietly murmurs about a room. If he is granted such a lodging, he'll silently move upstairs, dissapearing from the rest of the group...and entering"his" room. Once there, he sheds his armor-like mantle, his cloak, and his robes; revealing loose crimson pants and a black shirt underneath. Not wasting another moment...the elf entered meditation. |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-27-03, 04:35 PM | He saw the dwarf grab a jug and ordered the heaviest drink and took a swig "Ay, rocky, I challenge you to a drinking contest," he took another swig |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-27-03, 11:32 PM | So be it Dager, ye little crazed manic of a happy-weed user!” rocky grabs a fresh jug from the bar tender. He points to Kulideb as if saying she would pay and swigs down half a gallon. BUUUUUURRRRPPP! “Now that be some fine?” Rocky takes a closer look at the jug. “Cleaning Solvent? Oh well tis good anway!” With that he took another swig |
| kulideb10-28-03, 03:34 AM | The bar man came over asking for some coins to pay for the drinking competion. After blushing and stuttering she gives the bar man a few coins. She then makes her way to her room, feeling that may be she would be safer by herself. |
| Drindin10-29-03, 12:31 AM | The night turned into day... and back into night and into day again... as all the members spent a good time sleeping, beging practically dead after their long long LONG journey spent wholy awake. That morning, drindin was allready preparing to leave, buying provisions neccessary to reach the next town on the tundra borders. |
| kulideb10-29-03, 03:50 AM | Kulideb came down the stairs of the inn it had been good to have a long break, she felt clean and fresh and ready to set off again. She had restocked her backpack, checked on Cara now she just had to wait for the others. She looked around trying to spot them and wondering how the drinking compertion had gone, she also hadnt seen much of the gnome, he still puzzeled her. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-29-03, 07:55 AM | The gnome comes out of his room and joins Kulideb. He looks very calm and solemn now. Soon a servant of some nobleman, with no apparent connection to the gnome or any of Drindin's other companions, comes near, opens the gnome's backpack, and begins filling it with food supplies {the ones he bought before they set off were used out during the journey}, potions, and finally - warm clothes in diferent sizes. The gnome turns around. "No, no, give the clothes to lady Kulideb, master Drindin, and 'em two folks who drank up a storm yesterday. Also, two mages - one human with a false religeon, and one elven, should appear 'round here soon, they're with me too." The servant, bows to Kulideb, hands her a roll of simple but warm clothes, and proceeds to find the others, handing a similar {with adoptions for race and gender} roll to anyone he finds. Should anyone ask him who sent him, or why is he giiving them the woolen clothes, the servant will answer: "A courtsy of my mistress, in gesture to the Lord Fertilan Orbich which travels with you." Should anyone be so prudent as to ask him what the sod is he talking about, he'll gesture at a very richly-dressed noblewoman walking around with her doughter, both of whom he serves, ans if asked {he or his mistresses} of this Lord Fertilan Orbich, he'll point at everyone's favored gnome, which will not deny being called thus. |
| kulideb10-29-03, 09:02 AM | She acepeted the clothes with a thank you, and looked over to the well dressed lady, all sorts of questions came to mind, may be she would have chance to ask the gnome later. At least he seemed calm again. |
| Drindin10-29-03, 09:18 AM | Drindin pulled himself onto the black horse, which he had dubbed "night shade" "It's two days travel north... mostly up hill, and it will bet getting very cold once we reach there. There, we'll trade in the horses for more appropriate mounts for the Tundra..." Drinding yelled out. |
| kulideb10-29-03, 09:54 AM | She jumped up on Caras back and gave the horse a nudge. "What kind of mounts?"She shouted back. She gave Cara a pat she had grown quite fond of the horse but at least they still had a few days left together. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-29-03, 08:01 PM | The gnome followed Drindin and Kulideb, but only to the inn's door, where he sat down on a chair, waiting for the others to gather. |
| Drindin10-29-03, 11:32 PM | Drindin looks over at Kulideb. "Why, Mamoths of course!" He said, as though she wasn't exactly the sharpest nail around. He waited for rocky to show up... and the blood mage aswell. They certainly were taking their merry old time... |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-30-03, 12:22 AM | "Fhm, does that mean my daies of riding a Dagerspawn are over? Oh well, nothing good staies for long, or elese y'ave to let the bad things stay too..." |
| Golddigger Dwarf10-30-03, 12:38 AM | Rocky slowly picked himself off the tavern smelly floor. “That must have been some party” He try’s moving his jaw left and right with his hand. “Feels like I have been laying there for days” He gets up and sees the others leaving the tavern. “Don’t even have time to take a bath, oh well ill use this jug of ale.” He dumps it on his body and drinks some as well.. “Ok Gnome don’t be last lets go!” With that he untied his donkey and hoped on.” Yhaaa Ye ugly mule lets go!” |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-30-03, 01:06 AM | "Oh, wait, we're still missing Serathis, Sanctus and Dager... and if any of 'em humans or the elf drank as much as you did, i'd say you got time to wash yourself, get dirty again, and then take another bath. Really, i can't imagine anything without dwarven blood recovering from that competition of yours for atleast some... i don't know... a couple hours from now?" |
| kulideb10-30-03, 04:06 PM | "Mamoths! you would be able to fit us all on just one of those!" Kulideb said. She then looked at the state Rocky was in, and shuddered at the thought of being up close...no it just didnt bear thinking about. She was all most relived when he mentioned taking a bath only to see him pour more ale over himself! "I dont surpose the others will be to long." she said to the Gnome, at least he seemed more like himself, well the self that she had spent the night in the tent with. |
| Dager, Dementia Master10-30-03, 08:06 PM | Dager could be seen snoring on the bar counter a glass spilled and drool coming out of his mouth mubling about something in sleep. He heard the dwarf shuffle around and jumped out of his seat "Hey do you know who won the contest? I haven;t dranken that much since I was 15," He stumbled outside and tripped over a rock "Sorry my fault," He patted the rock and saw the others. "Gooday to ya, I know I'm ready to fight some evil demon," He created another ride a small dragon all deformed an rotted with arms all around it. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai10-30-03, 09:36 PM | "Ooh, hey Dager... wow!" For a few moments he admired the multiarmed dragonoid. "Well, you stink less, and you drank about the same amount, so i'd say you won. Now where are our arcanistic friends?" |
| Gene_Kynes11-01-03, 02:30 AM | The elf came out in a bit of a hurry, fully-dressed and this time...you cn barely see the glimpse of a runed longsword of golden color underneath the folds of his robes. Staring at the mount, the hurried elf shakes his head as he gracefully climbs atop it, despite the size of the creature. Without another word, he looks towards the rest...awaiting. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-01-03, 05:39 AM | "Alright, six present, one missing, i go search for Sanctus." The gnome sprints throught the inn, trying to see as much faces as posible, and after not finding his target, he returns to his place, sits in the shadow of the multiarmed dragon Serathis sits on, and draws soemthing out of his backpack. It's the same egg-shaped, eye-baring figurine some could see during the journey. He kneels before it, after positioning it on a chair dragged form inside the inn, and it cracks open, letting a spherical figurine, larger than the outer, egshaped one, float up from it. No one is probably close enough to see the detail - if anyone is, they can see the depiction of a particularily unexpected deity... though Kulideb saw it already. He closes his eyes and concentrates, using the Egglayer's favor to locate Sanctus. |
| kulideb11-04-03, 04:03 PM | "I'm not sure where sanctus has gone, but I guess the rest of us are all ready." She looked at the gnome. "Any luck?" |
| Opaque Divinity11-04-03, 04:20 PM | "Uhmm sorry everybody, especially you Drindin, but I have to make my leave.. Some herbs only growing every tenth year, (tonight), and I really need them. Sorry!" *He leaves quickly, taking the trip backwards to Agudo's school* Sorry I have to much going on.. I have to abandon this one! See you at the school |
| kulideb11-04-03, 04:37 PM | Just then she saw Sanctus. "Do you have to go? I guess its important, well take care my friend I dare say we will met again." She gave him a hug. And whispered in elven,"Aa' menle nauva calen ar' ta hwesta e' ale'quenle." (may thy paths be green and the breeze on thy back) |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-06-03, 09:31 AM | The gnome opens his eyes, smiling: the Eglayer granted him insight. The holy symbol returns to normal, and the gnome fetches it and puts it in his backpack. "Yepp, but it's wierd, it's like he's right here with you!" He walks around the armdragon to meet Kulideb's gaze and sees Sanctus. "Ugh... he is with you. Oh well, the Godess never indulges inacuracy, it's just my mortal slowness that rendered her help worthless in that aprticular case. So, are we off to our way now?" He doesn't seem to even care wether anyone exept the leader {Drindin} and himslef comes along. |
| Drindin11-06-03, 09:45 AM | Drindin nodded, seeing everyone was here. "Right then, let's go!" Drindin let out a sharp 'keeya!' and was off like a bolt of blackened lightning, heading north, |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-06-03, 10:47 AM | The gnome began running along once everyone were on theyr way. |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-06-03, 01:44 PM | Slightly slacked jawed and with drool coming out of his mouth. Rocky was a sleep on his donkey, do to the slow movement of the group. Then as if someone kicked this adventure group in the butt, they were off and running. “Blooody heeelll! What?” His stubborn donkey seeing everyone leaving takes pursuit after the group. “Well its about time ye bunch of old woman! Its like traveling with tree gnomes. They be only four inches high, and walk slower than a turtle.” |
| kulideb11-06-03, 03:58 PM | She gave her friend a final look, then gave Cara a nudge. The horse galloped after the rest of the group. It felt good to be on the move again she thought! |
| Krissy11-06-03, 11:56 PM | ((COME ON EVERYONE! :P)) |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-07-03, 12:38 AM | When the gnome notices that he and the three who came along are already far enough from the inn to lose it from sight, he stops suddenly. "Waaaaaaaaait!!! I heard the clerist saying he left, well good riddance, we're too few for a three-religeon conference. But what about Dager? Dager is the best company i had for quite a while, and i ain't going on till either he, or a paper of his death signed by his own hand, are here! Also, where's Serathis again? I did meet his kind before, once, only once, and if we won't wait for him, please don't be surprised when he steps right out of your heart as if it was an open birdcage." He keeps standing in the spot he stopped at, regardless of wether Drindin, Kulideb and Rocky stop or not. |
| kulideb11-07-03, 04:20 AM | Kulideb looked at the gnome. "We have to keep on, I left word at the inn for the others when I couldnt find them. We can leave markers for them to follow and I'm sure Dager and his nightmares will hurry Serathis along." She looked at Cara, the horse snorted as if it knew what the elf was going to say next. "I know Cara isnt quite the same as Dagers nightmares but if you want you can sit up behind me. I'm sure the others will catch us up by the next camp." |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-07-03, 05:03 AM | "Hey, i'm not tired, i just don't want the freaky elf coming out of my aortha! Or yours, for the matter of fact! And dager is a greate guy, so unless our hiveleader chooses to disqualify him officially, i'm waiting for him right here." |
| kulideb11-07-03, 05:37 AM | Kulideb sighed, she had forgotten how stuborn gnomes could be. "OK, then I guess we wait for a little while." She then spoke to Drindin. "Can you tell us some more about the tundra?" |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-07-03, 01:17 PM | Rocky takes out his axe and gives a wicked look. " Let me be talking to the little grass hopper, I think he needs a some understanding on when we go and when we stop" |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-09-03, 06:11 AM | the gnome shruggs "Wh' if you insist... you won't get me to kill you though, that's a job for Natural Selection, i ain't doing it." He pokes the left of his chest with four fingers a couple of times, mumbling something, and then falls on his face suddenly, and his back is torn, as two large demonic wings spring from it. The wings begin to move lifting him to the air. He hovers 15 feet or so above Rocky's head, aiming a javelin at his right arm or shoulder. Trhe first javelin hits the axe and bounces off it, and the gnome takes out another one. "You can tell me to stop any moment, just rememebr 'twas your call." he syas with an indifferent tone from his airboren position. Then he adds quietly, though with some effort one can still overhear: "Deamn, this never gets easier... your sodding wings hurt evry cursed time, you havocwrecking pest!" |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-09-03, 10:02 AM | “Tis good ye choose to fight ye demon, For I be hating demons more than anything.” With that he takes out some holy water and throws it in the air near the Gnome Demon. With his Axe he hits the bottle causing it to splatter the pure water in every direction. |
| Krissy11-09-03, 10:48 AM | Drindin looks at Kuli as he eventually slows the pace of his horse. "It's cold. And virtually barren. There are no trees up there, and the largest plants are the extremely rare shrubs that grow up there." |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-09-03, 12:41 PM | The gnome wooshes higher into the air to avoid the splashes. Holy water would only hurt him if it fell on the wings or the demon simbiotically engrafted into his chest, but he prefered to be carefull: it could just as well be acid in that container. He amkes a diagonal dive, and throws another javelin, regaining distance immidiately after. This time the javelin drew blood from the dwarf's hand, though not nearly enough to make it less functional. . o O 0 {Deamn, it won't eb easy, and now i'm just sodding wasting amunition. Besides, i'll wanna be at peace with that guy when Serathis and Dager catch up... deamn, kinda felt like wounding him more, but i'll have to avoid angering him for the sake of group integrity... bummer, oh well, atleast that's fun and can keep me warm till these stupid outsteppers fianlly get to catching up with us} 0 O o . he keeps hovering, getting close periodically, and pretending he's aboutt o throw another javelin, but avoids throwing it each time. He keeps doing it untill either Rocky gets tired {hard to immagine} or the two missing comrades finally arive. |
| Krissy11-09-03, 04:38 PM | Drindin glares at the two combatants behind him. "YOU TWO BEST SETTLE DOWN OR I MAY HAVE TO SEE YOU BOTH SPLATTERED!" |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-09-03, 10:34 PM | “Tis only in fun Drindin, I be teasing the little cockroach of a gnome. See, thou can have him for thy self. The gnome demon tis no longer sad about his boyfriend ;the drugged out Dagger fellow. Rocky winks at Kulideb and points to the flying gnome. Ye think that the flying monkey, would make a good pet?” |
| kulideb11-10-03, 03:58 AM | Kulideb rolled her eyes at the antics of the dwarf and the gnome. "Boys will be boys!" she said and at least it was entertaining while they waited for the others she thought! |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-10-03, 11:08 AM | "Yeah, master Drindin, he be only teasing the li'l... hey! Well, anyway, it keeps us both warm, and it keeps us busy while we wait for the much slower members of our gr -" With that he runs into a raven or some similar bird, which breakes its neck and falls to the snow, as opposed to the gnome, which instead flies up higher to try figuring out what just hit him, pondering if it could be the flying monkey Rocky was refering to. Ok, so the cold air makes him a bit slow on the intake... |
| Drindin11-13-03, 09:47 AM | Finally, the group reached the Small town. In it there were shops of every stripe, a single inn called the "Horses Arse", and a temple to no particular god or goddess. ((RP Break every one... I've nearly given up, but I want you guys still to have fun while we wait for the others.)) |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-13-03, 12:56 PM | Rocky hops off his donkey and heads over the Arss Tavern for a morning drink and then some. As he walks in the dwarf snikers "Be me second home a tavern, one for the road barkeep!" |
| kulideb11-14-03, 04:29 AM | Kulideb looks at the taverns name, wrinkles her nose and glances round but the town didnt appear to have any other Inns. So with a sigh she enters the inn (after first seeing to her horse!) "I dont surpose you do sweet water do you." she asks the bar keeper. |
| Gene_Kynes11-15-03, 06:13 PM | The Elf soon appears in front of Drindin...floating. His mount soon appears on the side of the road, appearing amazingly confused...the elf slipping back onto his mount. He gives no apology, no explaination...as he soon gets the beast under control, falling back to the rear of the group. |
| Drindin11-15-03, 06:17 PM | "It's about time." was all drindin said. Drindin gathered the group, and gave no explanation as to their sudden departure and as to why they were 'abandoning' the Dementist. All he said in reply was. "I fear we'll run out of time." And they were off, the nights grew gradually longer, and the air brisker and colder. Suddenly, they were waylaid. Men riding great, white bears appeared in the distance, and came charging at the group. ((What.... do... you... do?)) |
| Gene_Kynes11-15-03, 06:19 PM | (( I wait for the others to post! )) |
| Dager, Dementia Master11-15-03, 06:28 PM | (OOC: Yeah to powerful..) The black clad man had a smile as he went back to the inn. He ordered some of the stronger drinks and a little something to them. He sat in a corner rambling to himself. |
| Drindin11-15-03, 08:50 PM | Originally posted by Dager, Dementia Master (OOC: There's my cue.) ... He summons an "incinerator" and starts fighting , summoning another after another. ((Sounds a bit to powerful. Pluse, with your "incinerator" thing you'll have to tell us what that is. You're doing way, WAY to much and not being specific enough.)) |
| Gene_Kynes11-15-03, 10:31 PM | The elf looked over at the Dementist, and sighed. "Humans. Give them a little magic, and they begin to care so much about looking powerful...that they care less about the effectiveness of a spell. Ugh." He then looked to the raiders distastefully, and took his blade out. Pulling his sleeve robe up, Serathis smirked. "Cremo." Then...Serathis slits his arm, the blood dissapearing after the next words are uttered. "Cinis." Dark swirls suddenly appear between the two parties...as if a smoky-green whirlpool was appearing...but as the waves as energy are about to collide...a pillar of flame erupts from the ground, cursing the sky itself with it's piecring scream...meaning only one thing. "Deflagratio maleficus." Hellfire. As he timed the pillar to appear as the enemy charged over it, Serathis waited to see the effects of his rather...dramatic spell. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-15-03, 11:35 PM | When Drindin ruled that they should move, the gnome droped on the mount, frowning, only mumbling something along "You're the rule". He never spoke to Drindin, or any of the other men he saw as rsponsible for them abandoning Dager, unless ordered to. He did follow orders perfectly, dryly. When the raiders appear, he folds his arms, and jumps off the mount. He would wait untill a clear order is given, and then fullfill it. He would protect the lady, and even Drindin himself - there is a lesson for the latter to learn, but the rest may well fall. Then suddenly the dementist appears, as if from nowhere. The gnome's first thought was along the lines of "Greate, all wrongs are now righted, and i'm ready to fight on your side!"... but then he realizes: Drindin's intention never did change. The actual situation doesn't matter, the point is theyr leader left a man behind, and must be tough the lesson. The cost is irrelevant. The gnome stood at the rear, waiting for the events to develop further. The chain-handle of the Dreadbyte was slightly pertruding from his backpack, and he checked that his hand raches it easlily. He didn't take out his holy symbol: none of these people seemed particularily deserving of the Egglayer Mother's attention, and if need arises, he could always use the powers she grants him freely. Besides, as a last resortr, he always had the greatest gift of the godess, which he could manifest without even having to be conceous, let alone concentrated or prepared. . . _____________________________ {{OOC: How many raiders are there?}} |
| Drindin11-16-03, 12:20 AM | Drindin held his hand out to the spell casters. "HOLD YOUR POSITIONS! WASTE NO TIME! LET THEM COME TO US!" He fingered his holy symbol a moment. He drew his sword... The bear men stopped. About ten in total, the reached down, and pulled out Javelins. They soon started hurling the Javelins down. One of them was taken out by the blood-mage's hell-fire ability. (Dager, I await your explanation on your 'incinerators'. There are not trees, by the way... you're in the tundra.) |
| Gene_Kynes11-16-03, 01:14 AM | "...Use your ranged weapons." Serathis's voice seems to carry, as he frowns with dissapointment at the lack of effectiveness of his strike. "...scatter their formation." He then...did something very, very simple...that didn't even require blood loss. Using a divine spell from his earlier ranger days, Serathis produces a trench underneath the raiders (Spirit Plough)...and then a causes oil to rain a geyser in the ground. (Geyser, or something like that.) "...Or I'll do it for you." And with that...he sent a small, easily spell that he had used often as a child. A single ball of flame, as big as a fist, appearing within the now oil-soaked trench. Serathis simply smirks. |
| Drindin11-16-03, 01:56 AM | The oil combusted.... and quite easily too. Drindin made no short time of pulling out one of the now-fried corpses. He rummaged through a bag, and pulled out a single obsidian stone and some grave dirt. He sprinkled the dirt onto the corpse, and put the Obsidian in it's mouth. He began to murumur an incantation, or prayer, whilst holding his now-glowing holy symbol. Soon the corpse began to fade, and become incorporeal, shrinking into the ground as a shadow, which began to follow drindin'. The horses seemed unwilling to go within' thirty feet of the creature, and drindin simply nodded. "Well, I figured this would happen. Looks as if I'll have to continue on foot. Very well then, LET'S MOVE OUT!" Drindin began to run northward. Within' a few hours, drindin had only started showing signs of fatigue, and a large hill was on the horizon. Drindin stopped and held up his hand. "Stop... there it is... the thing we're after. In it rests a metal... that if a Holy Symbol... or Unholy Symbol... is made from it, on that mountain... the lucky cleric will become very... VERY powerful compared to others with the same degree of training... that is what I seek..." |
| kulideb11-16-03, 09:23 AM | Kulideb was glad to leave that Inn behind. They set off again she guessed that she had become complacent for the attack took her my surprise. She jumped dpwn from Cara giving the horse a pat to send it away. She used her bow but some one had started a fire. She didnt see what Drindin did but the fight was soon over. She looked around for Cara but the horse was no where to be seen. "looks like I will have to walk too." She began to tire her leggs felt so heavy, when Drindin brought them to a halt . She sat down on the ground and then looked around. |
| Gene_Kynes11-16-03, 12:10 PM | "...power-mongering?" Serathis sighed, as he looked at the ground beneath the tundra, and the amount of water caused by his two flame attacks. "...Should've seen this coming. Very well then." Serathis stretches out...and the three green orbs burst into green flame once again, a single bolt of energy bouncing between them. |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-16-03, 11:06 PM | The gnome stands infornt of Drindin, looking diagonally up, to gaze in his eyes, while his own, eggshaped holy sumbol held in his left hand, as if to underline a point. "Umm, so all of us followed you, but save for me, you, and sanctus, whom you scared the sod away, no one had anything to gain from this, that so?" |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-16-03, 11:06 PM | The gnome stands infornt of Drindin, looking diagonally up, to gaze in his eyes, while his own, eggshaped holy sumbol held in his left hand, as if to underline a point. "Umm, so all of us followed you, but save for me, you, and sanctus, whom you scared the sod away, no one had anything to gain from this, that so?" |
| Drindin11-17-03, 12:22 AM | Drindin smirks. "Oh, you've got much to gain from this yet. Trust me, I promise you treasure. All I ask is that I get this metal, you can have all the treasure from the hoard up there that you can carry. All I need is this metal. Trust me on this." |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-18-03, 12:16 AM | "Well then, let's hope there's 'nough treasure for Kulideb, Dager, Serathis, and Rocky, but moreso enough metal for me and you... both our deities gon get a real tough follower each now! So, anyone brought any minin' tools?" |
| Drindin11-18-03, 01:06 AM | Drindin chuckles, and they keep on traveling northward. The nights got much longer, to the point night and day simply ceased to exisist, and all there was was night with brief periods of sunrise. "The mountain isn't much farther now... look yonder! It grows nearer with every step!" What once looked like a hill, was now a towering behemoth. Still faintly blue as it remained on the horizon, it was now noticeably a mountain of gargantuous size. "Soon, we will find all we have come searching for. It's going to be a hard climb up, treacherous, and dangerous. Prepare yourselves." Before any more could be said, the ground started to rumble treacherously, and a tower of fire shot into the sky from the top of the mountain. "Aye... I should mention.... this mountain is an active volcano..." |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai11-18-03, 08:04 AM | The gnome looks at the lava with purely aesthetic interrest. "Fine, jut remind me before we get very close, so iget some prayin' done and the pointless asses of each one of you watched after by Her All-enduring Perfection. I don't one any of you burnt. Specially not, you, hiveleader, i got somethin' you gotta see after we get outa there. Now, tell me one thing: how's it that you, on all faerun, were the only chap to know of this metal? You know you ain'd the only one to serve a greater power, and far from being the most devoted one, or making the best choice as to whom to serve, so how ddi you lay yer hands on that knowlege, leaving everyine else ignorant?" |
| Golddigger Dwarf11-19-03, 12:01 AM | Rocky had tied his donkey to Kulidebs horse and fell a sleep for awhile, once rested. He burped and made other noises and then jumped down. "Ok gold, or silver?where is it on this mountain, of hot lava?" |
| kulideb11-19-03, 04:23 AM | The shaking of the volcano made her a little unsteady on her feet, she went to grab hold of the person next to her but pulled her hand away when Rocky started to make more noise than the volcano. "Lets just be quick about this!" looking up at the mountain it looked any thing but a quick climb. "We could just shadow walk, if you trust me." |
| Drindin11-26-03, 09:53 AM | Drindin smirks at the little gnome-thing. "I've my ways, good friend. Let's just say my family's old. Very old." |
| kulideb11-26-03, 03:32 PM | "or we could just do it the hard way, I guess." said the elf, carrying on up the mountain. |
| Gene_Kynes11-27-03, 06:11 PM | One way to describe Serathis? Jaded to the absolute extreme. He seemed a mind floating through the etheral, chained down by a body, time "wasted" as a ranger and time "ruined" by training his body being insignificant compared to the one thing he craved the most...magic. It only makes sense he didn't seem to care about the volcano. "Drindin. I never asked you...why were you ejected from your former position?" Without any of the other's permission, Serathis begins casting his Element Immunity spells on the others when they begin to climb the mountain/volcano. "Or would you rather not speak of it?" |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai12-05-03, 12:16 PM | "Oh, thanks Serathis, was just gonna ask the Egglayer's favor 'bout our imperfections 'garding that cold." The gnome smiles to the bloodmage. |
| Drindin12-05-03, 07:05 PM | "Now's not the time for rabble! TAKE HOLD!" Drindin, now far ahead of the others, tossed them a rope as he neared the top of the volcano, reaching out to an out cropping as the mountain shook. |
| kulideb12-06-03, 05:26 AM | The elf nodded a thanks at serathis then took a hold of the rope, using it to help her climb up the mountain. She almost fell when the mountain shook, she put her hands out to save her self grazing them on the rough rocks. Still staying low to the ground and wiping a bloody hand on her leggings she looked around to see if every one else was ok. |
| Drindin12-06-03, 10:58 AM | Drindin was fine, one hand on the rocky cliff, other havin the rope wrapped around it, he too was looking around to see how the others fared. "Damnit!" he said. "So close to our goal too!" |
| Quathmoir Dlaeh Issarhai12-06-03, 10:46 PM | "If that's leadership, Lord Drindin, then i'm a sodding cube!" so exclaimes the gnome as he sees what happened to Kulideb. He taps on the upper left of his chest. "Wings, now, and just you try arguing!" His back is torn again, as the two large demnic wings sprout from it. He takes off to the air, flapping them, reaches closer to Kulideb, and grabs her by the armpits, lifting her up as he flies. He soon catches up with Drindin, or whoever is currently on the lead, but does not come further than the leader. He keeps flying just above the group, with the elf in his hands. Airborn, he feels much more independant of the volkano's fury. He truns his attention to the one he carries: "You okay there? comfortable? bah, ofcourse you aren't, deamn..." he sighs and pronounces something in a languege that not many would recognize, unless Agudo was too seriouse about his students' {and teachers'} education. It is in the tongue spoken by beholders. Slowly, as if showing reluctancy, Kulideb's wounds close, and the pain dissappears as if it never was. Any bloodstains remain however. "Now, can't do much bout comfort, could tell ye to ride my backpack, but that'd be disbalancing me, and we'd all become lava-meat..." |
