I was considering working on a webcomic based off the D and D theme, like OOTS, and I'm wondering how the OGL factors into that. I mean, am I allowed to make yuan-ti and drow characters or have characters with classes that are functionally like the warblade and healer? I've read most of the FAQs officially on the subject and they don't mention anything about this type of subject. I've read the OGL and understand it to a certain extent, but if anyone could clarify what can be generally used and what can't, that'd be great.

Unless your webcomic is a game with rules content, or featuring known iconics from D&D, I don't see the need for the OGL, IMHO.

In any case, I'd rather you consult with WotC with a request list for what you want to use in your webcomic presentation.
