It would require the D&D 4E core rules to play. This book's aim would be to interest fantasy readers (and authors) in the new D&D 4E game. The twelve worlds would be selected from the hundreds of fantasy fiction worlds that have already been published as novels in the past decade or so. The only requirement would be that some kind of dragon exist in each world. Each world would be presented as a mini-campaign....something like the treatment of the Shannara campaign setting in DRAGON magazine #286. Each mini-campaign would outline how the D&D 4E core rules are adapted for use in this world - including new or modified classes, feats, magic, and monsters. Specifically, each world's conception of dragonkind would be statted. There would be an overview of each setting and a mini-adventure (really more of Side-Trek-like encounter), for a total of twelve adventures. There would be full color paintings of dragons throughout. Lastly, Wizards Books would publish a compilation of short stories containing twelve new dragon-related short stories set in those worlds. Travis |
