| Canuklehead03-27-07, 07:23 PM | (probably numerous times, I'd wager) but I'd appreciate it if you could give it one more go for me... I've been working on a campaign world and am nearing the step to put it online. Now, I guess I'm just looking to see what I need to do to make it all ok to use. Legal, that is. It's using the D20 system as found in the Wizards of the Coast Dungeons and Dragons manuals. Do I need to put that SPECIFICALLY on the site or is it enough to say that it uses the D20 system? Or, if I want to clarify to users, am I even ALLOWED to reference the AD&D Books? Also, Am I allowed to make 2nd ed versions or only the D20 that is currently there? Thanks |

| Canuklehead03-27-07, 08:25 PM | Yeah, I'm using the SRD... I noticed a few differences and will use rules from there. However, in the D20 system guide, I notice that they allow you to cite the Core Books. They tell you HOW to cite them, but it is allowed. Maybe what I'm not making clear is that I'm not "using" thier rules, I'm creating a world based on their rule set. I'm not going to copy and paste the books onto my site, I'm going to tell people that my campaigns are "an option if you're interested in playing a D&D game". Anyway, I'm starting to figure a lot out for myself... I'm not touching rules or character creation or any of that stuff in my thing, so I should be golden. As for the last question, I thought it was stright forward... I'll try to clarify: The campaign world I'm making is for the 3rd edition (or 3.5 or whatever). As I understand the D20 Licence, this is the only edition that is a part or the Open Gaming Licence, correct? I assume I'm not permitted to make reference to earlier editions as they're not in the SRD, but I wanted to make sure. (Note: My converting the campaigns to 2nd edition would include references to 2nd edition books) |
