| Xeraph03-25-05, 06:35 PM | Needed a break from my projekt... Decent saves. Decent Attack bonus. Lots of protective abbilities. Lots of Powers to play with. Room to switch Power Attack, Cleave and Great Cleave for TWF, Imp TWF and Oversized TWF or whatever floats your boat. Improved Initiative... I dont know, whatever works for you. Could easily thorw in Leadership for a real willain type. Works great as a BBEG. Well, with no further adue (sp.)... I give you: The Player Slayer Human Monk (Cobra Style) 3/ Hexblade 3/ Fighter 1/ Paladin (Despot) 2/ Psionic Fist 1/ Slayer 10 1 - Monk (Cobra Strike) 1 Dodge, Wild Talent 2 - Fighter 1 Power Attack 3 - Paladin (Despot) Track 4 - Paladin (Despot) 5 - Hexblade 1 6 - Hexblade 2 Mage Slayer 7 - Hexblade 3 8 - Monk (Cobra Strike) 2 Mobility 9 - Monk (Cobra Strike) 3 Elusive Target 10 - Psionic Fist 1 11 - Slayer 1 12 - Slayer 2 Cleave 13 - Slayer 3 14 - Slayer 4 15 - Slayer 5 Great Cleave 16 - Slayer 6 17 - Slayer 7 18 - Slayer 8 Improved Initiative 19 - Slayer 9 20 - Slayer 10 Base Attack: +18/+13/+8/+3 Flurry: +16/+16/+11/+6/+1 Saves: Fort +12, Ref +9 and Will +15 Special Qualities: Mettle, Evasion, Arcane Resistance, Divine Grace, Slippery Mind (good for starters), Cerebral Blind, Cerebral Immunity Powers: Power Points 71, Powers Known 10, Max Level 5th Misc: Monk AC, Unarmed Damage 1d8, +10 Feet Speed, Hexblades Curse (1/day), Aura of Law, Detect Chaos (at will), Smite Chaos (1/day), Still Mind, Favored enemy +8, Enemy Sense Alignment: Lawful Evil :plotting: |
| catharz03-25-05, 06:54 PM | Looks great, but do you need Still mind? If not, you could do better by dropping the third monk level. |
| Nuntius12803-25-05, 06:54 PM | You need to check out some of the new Unarmed feats from Sandstorm, like Pharaoh's Fist, and there's one(in the excerpt, front page) that lets you strike at an extra 5 feet of range unarmed. |
| Xeraph03-25-05, 08:00 PM | Looks great, but do you need Still mind? If not, you could do better by dropping the third monk level. Unfortunatly Psionic Fist needs Still Mind. Buts its ok, With the first level Psionic Fist Player Slayers Unarmed Damage Increases to 1d8. You need to check out some of the new Unarmed feats from Sandstorm, like Pharaoh's Fist, and there's one(in the excerpt, front page) that lets you strike at an extra 5 feet of range unarmed. If i chose that one iwould lose out on Elusive Target. Plus its only one attack. But I am convinced... I am lacking certain books in my colection. :D Would have looked better with Shiba Protector in it. But Shiba is so damn cheesy. Feat espesive aswell... But then again.. I could spare a couple of feats. Human Monk (Cobra Style) 3/ Hexblade 3/ Paladin (Despot) 2/ Psionic Fist 1/ Slayer 10/ Shiba Protector Feats 1 - Wild Talent, Dodge (Monk) 3 - Track 6 - Alertness 7 - Mobility (Monk) 9 - Elusive Target 12 - Expertise 15 - Iron Will 18 - Mage Slayer With this version all you need to concentrate on is Wisdom, Constitution and Charisma. |
| snb113103-25-05, 11:15 PM | What feat allows you a ranged unarmed attack? |
| Xeraph03-26-05, 06:39 AM | ... Serpant Fang (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20050304a&page=3), but its more like reach, and its only once a round...costs a Stunning Fist attempt aswell. |
| Khazra Reborn03-26-05, 11:02 AM | Ok...thats some crazy multiclassing, when you consider neither monk or paladin are allowed to cross class... by the way, a few levels of tribal protecor gains anova attack a turn which is always nice if you can fit it in.. |
| Part-Human203-27-05, 12:09 AM | I think you mean Player Character Slayer. You don't actually kill the players, otherwise we're back to D&D getting hammered on by religeous groups and the media for its demonic and deadly influences. |

You don't actually kill the players, otherwise we're back to D&D getting hammered on by religeous groups and the media for its demonic and deadly influences. Well, the name "player slayer" could also be interpreted to mean a slayer, under the control of a player. Or this guy just hunts down those who don't remain true to their significant others. But that's more a "Playa Slayer" than anything... ;) I'd leave Elusive Target on there. What Mage Slayer is to mages ("what? He's still a threat?!"), Elusive Target is to big, beefy sorts ("Krug power attack for 1d12+wrath of god!" ...and hit for 3.). Expands on versatility a bit. Level shuffling should solve the multiclass problem. However, I'd consider replacing Fighter with Psywar (move all the Monk to the top). This at least gives you some manifesting ability to boost things here and there. It's not much, but you'll only lose a point of base attack (you'll still have four per round). Also, most of us on the psi boards believe that this also negates the need for Wild Talent -- considering how every other PrC that a nonmanifesting psionic can enter says "must have a power point reserve of at least X power points." |
| Xeraph03-27-05, 01:15 PM | Hes da pimp yo, if you fake da game, hes gonna put da smackdown on dat azz. Da Pimp Trick Gangsta Playa Slayer http://www.confrontation.fr/images/carn/prev/conc_06.jpg Human Monk (Cobra Style) 3/ Hexblade 3/ Fighter 1/ Paladin (Despot) 2/ Psionic Fist 1/ Slayer 10 1 - Monk (Cobra Strike) 1 Dodge, Power Attack 2 - Monk (Cobra Strike) 2 Mobility 3 - Monk (Cobra Strike) 3 Mage Slayer 4 - Paladin (Despot) 5 - Paladin (Despot) 6 - Hexblade 1 Track 7 - Hexblade 2 8 - Hexblade 3 9 - Psychic Warrior 1 Cleave, Elusive Target 10 - Psionic Fist 1 11 - Slayer 1 12 - Slayer 2 Great Cleave 13 - Slayer 3 14 - Slayer 4 15 - Slayer 5 Pierce Magical Protection 16 - Slayer 6 17 - Slayer 7 18 - Slayer 8 Improved Initiative 19 - Slayer 9 20 - Slayer 10 Base Attack: +17/+12/+7/+2 Flurry: +15/+15/+10/+5/+0 Saves: Fort +12, Ref +9 and Will +15 Special Qualities: Mettle, Evasion, Arcane Resistance, Divine Grace, Slippery Mind (good for starters), Cerebral Blind, Cerebral Immunity Powers: Power Points 71, Powers Known 11, Max Level 5th Misc: Monk AC, Unarmed Damage 1d8, +10 Feet Speed, Hexblades Curse (1/day), Aura of Law, Detect Chaos (at will), Smite Chaos (1/day), Still Mind, Favored enemy +8, Enemy Sense Alignment: Lawful Evil Foo! | slade_caizer03-27-05, 02:22 PM | Ok...thats some crazy multiclassing, when you consider neither monk or paladin are allowed to cross class... Ascetic Knight wasn't it? I believe that's in CV... |
| Jeremymc03-27-05, 04:45 PM | For a BBEG, that BAB is a little low. Any decent 20th level fighter is going to have an easy time building an AC that will dust your character. And given that you don't have that many PP or spells, you can't muster enough "touch attack" powers to win out. BTW, is "Slayer" the "Illithid Slayer"? Or some new PrC from Races of the Wild? |

Name one decent 20th level fighter. :p It's the SRD's Illithid Slayer, sans Illithid. The one that you pick your favored enemy for. (Wizards of the Coast intellectual property and all -- just like the Psionic Fist is the SRD's Fist of Zuoken.) |

Yeah please, enlighten us. Also this guy was really meant to stand up to casters and such, which are the bane of all melee'rs... not your average tank/hitter. As for Uberer Charger builds and Lancers and so... Elusive Target. New approach to combat, pick up Spikedchain... make him a tripper. But ofcourse, il admit, hes not a King of Smack or anything. |
| Xeraph12-02-05, 10:50 AM | :D Bumb to save. |
| Dain12-02-05, 11:27 AM | :D Bumb to save. The build suffers from massive XP-penalty issues, as far as I can see? |
| McJarvis12-02-05, 11:49 AM | Only if fighter isn't the favored class. |
| Malcoren12-02-05, 01:14 PM | Errr... If I was to make a Player Slayer, of which I have many, it'd be an optimized monster, not an optimized ordinary with 20 PC levels. It's fairly easy to make a CR 20 monster that can take on all but the most well-prepared party. Not that this matters, since there are any number of ways a DM can kill players off... but that's not the point. Me, I prefer to watch them do something to themselves that does it. But on the off chance someone turns into a rogue munchkin, it helps to have fully-legal backup handy. ;) |
