Anybody have any ideas?

It seems that mostbonuses are usually phyysical escpecailly at a 0 LA. Crazy as it may seem I don't care about physical penalties but just the mental benefits.

I seem to remember something along the lines of Jermaline... I don't remember the full name or the book, though. It was a very high-WIS race.

MMII. I think it has +6 wis, but it's been a while and I can't find the book.

Anthropomorphic Bat I think has no LA. Can barely walk, though.

Vernara seems interesting anything more specific about that or this mysterious Jemaline?

The anthro bat has got to have hd though right?

This is goignt o be for the divine minion to MoMF trick (okayed by DM) so I wanted to get into the class and up in levels of the PrC as soo as possible - physical stats, even movement, fill not matter since I will be wild shaped continously.

I'd feel sorry for your DM if he hadn't brought it on himself.

It goes without saying that you want to be a Venerable specimen of whatever you wind up choosing, for the +3 to all mental stats.

Yeah, he's lenient all right. In fact the stat sytem we have set up makes this even worth but is fun for players:

All ability modifiers must = 10 when totalled.
No Ability may be greater than a 18 and no lower than a 6. Half the stats odd, half the stats even so you know i am going:

Str: 9
Dex: 9
Con: 11
Int: 18
Wis: 18
Cha: 18

Just to nerf him I am making him take VoP but still he's a beast -especially since those stat pumps are goin to mental stats.

I would just be concerned if I id the mental stats bonus to venerable age that I may get mowed down if I am in an area that takes away my wild shaping ability. My con would be terrible and die from somebody blowing on me!

It's not a problem for a druid.

The anthro bat has got to have hd though right?

No. Small creatures lose their HD when they take class levels.

Uh, size has nothing to do with it. You only loose your HD when you take classes if you have one racial HD (ie, Pixies, etc)

Maybe it's my MMII copy, but I saw no stats for Jermalines as player characters, though I also saw no level adjustment.

Jermaline are Fey, so they don't qualify for Divine Minion. Anthropomorphic Bat just has one dropped hd, like every other PC race. It's probably the way to go. As someone mentioned, venerable may also be helpful, though at some point you may have problems even surviving first level.

Just clarifying:

Anthropomorphic Bat construction is:

Take a bat from the MM

Add Anthropomorphic template from SS

Is that it?

If so and everybody loves it what do the effects (stats, etc.) look like?

LAs are in the 3.5 update of MMII (its 3.0) stat bonuses are found by taking the stats presented and subracting 10 (if even) or 11 (if odd)

LA are nto stats.

stat modiifiers from race are what you are speaking of. man races have what are caled LA or Level Adjustment because with their straight stats, extraordinary qualities, etc. they do nto make balanced 1st level chaaracters. Hence LA.

On the bat's HD point: this is a part of the Anthro template.

I just looked in my MMII, and while yes, they get +6 wis, here's what else you get by being a Jermlaine...

1 foot tall (Tiny size), speak with rats at will
-7 Str, +6 Dex, -2 Con, -2 Int, +6 Wis, -6 Cha

So, if you wanted a high dex, high wis kind of character that is bad at everything else, Jermlaine is the answer.

VoP would be a blessing, as good luck doing more than 1hp in damage with weapons.

Hence why most people play venerable jermlain druids, they dont care if they have a 1 in str, dex, and con.

Woo! venerable jermlain druids FTW!

Anyone else think something is going wrong with game mechanics when venerable jermlain druids are a mechanically superior combo? lol

In a game where the most powerful creature ever is a level 5 Kobold? PFFFT. This is NOTHING.

It's not like they're superior to venerable anthropomorphic bat druids or anything.

Or just look at the table. IIRC, Bat is on there and it has a horrible land speed (like 5 I think).

You recall correctly. However, it DOES have a fly speed of 25, whihc is pretty damn nice for 0 ECL.

Average manuver, too. More than enough mobility to survive 4 levels of druid.

Ah but you all forget that the physical stats will not matter due to the wild shaping - damage witha war troll is through the roof.

What is the stat array on the anthro-bat?
