+1 BAB, +1 Spellcasting? [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-01-07, 02:58 PM Well, I'm in the process of modifying the infamous Witch Hunter gish build for a game, and thus far I have Sorcerer 6/Witch Hunter 2/Spellsword 1/Rauthmari Battlemage 4/Abjurant Champion 5/EK 2.

BAB: +16
Caster Level: 18 (9th level Sor spells)

I've been thinking on how to improve it further, and what comes to mind is getting rid of the EK. I was thinking either 2 more levels of Spellsword, or a level of Dragonslayer and a level of X.

Here's where you come in. I've looked around, and I can't seem to find any PrCs that give +1 spellcasting and +1 BAB at first level that aren't already used in here (aside from FL). Given this boards knack for finding wierd hidden gems, I was wondering if you guys could help me out.

01-01-07, 04:51 PM Dragonslayer (Draconomicon) has full BAB and half caster progression, but gives the bump at first level so that could work.

01-01-07, 04:53 PM Dragonslayer also has two non-casting feats as prereqs that pose problems for most already feat heavy builds. Regardless, it can be pretty powerful.

01-01-07, 09:06 PM Sadly, I was already planning for a level of Dragonslayer - I need two dips that give me +1 BAB and +1 spellcasting, and Dragonslayer is one of em. The reason is to eliminate EK entirely, and in doing so bump up the caster level by one (and thus 9th level spells).

2) Use the Greater Draconic Rite of Passage (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20060420a) to gain a 'bonus' level of Sorcerer casting.
3) Profit.

...of course, I havn't read the Witch Hunter, so dunno if there are racial requirements. Does WH give you lots of good stuff?
