| Lilt11-22-06, 06:42 PM | Basically, my dwarven Fighter 2/Barbarian 1/Mage 1 (don't ask, he's not supposed to be optimal) has recently amassed enough money to buy a +1 enhancement on his MW dwarven waraxe. With the DM's rules, however, +equivalent enhancements can be bought without making the weapon +1. With another slight break from the norm, any enchanted weapon (not just one with a +1 or greater enhancement on it) bypasses magical DR So... I'm thinking that there have to be better enhancements for it than the normal +1 weapon... After-all, that's only +1 damage from my normal masterwork weapon. Any suggestions? Right now I'm thinking Keen might be good. |

However, if you have no trouble with accuracy, you may as well for for some elemental damage, they usually give you good bang for your buck (or Brrr, or Burn, for that matter....) |

When I'm Enlarge Person-ed, my weapon alone deals 27 average damage on a crit alone, +36 with my strength and full power attack. That's before raging, or being bull's strengthed by the wizard or cleric. I have little doubt that my average damage potential is higher in such circumstances with keen than with +1 damage (no +1 to hit as it doesn't stack with MW), albeit only against crittable foes. Thanks for the link, Auldar. I'm sorely tempted to go for an earthbound weapon for the +2 to attack and damage, but it might be a bit hard to get by my GM. I would go for a Caustic weapon, what with it being the requirement for the interesting Earth Elemental Power option, but I'm not going to be getting another weapon upgrade for ages as I owe lots of people money (can you believe that the group clubbed together to buy me Mithril Full-Plate?) |
