1 level dip for cleric->Bone Knight, more turning [Archive] - Wizards Community

Bbn, Drd, Rng, what class should I take a single level in so that I can get the necessary ranks in Ride to qualify for the Bone Knight PrC as a formerly third/fourth level straight cleric? I'm ignoring paladin as you pretty much lose all the 1st level paladin stuff by going into Bone Knight. Unless you all know of some PrC that I can take at level 4 or 5 which has Ride as a class skill. Otherwise, I have to wait until level 9 to buy up 6 cross class ranks in ride (level 9, max of 12 ranks in a normal skill, max of 12/2 in cross class skill).

While I'm asking questions, I need more turn attempts. I started with a 17 Cha (18 Wis) and I'm planning on putting all of my level bumps into Cha to get more turn attempts -- Extend Spell at level 1, Persistent Spell at level 3, Divine Metamagic Persistant Spell at level 6. I'll be able to make one spell persistent. Extra turning at level 9 and 12 will let me make a second spell persistent and I guess at CL 14, with one level dip into some other class and Bone Knight from then on, I'll finally be able to use a spell slot to make a 0-level spell persistent.

But, without making an army of clones that would all feed me back turn attempts or going the Pun Pun route or using the infinite pain feedbacks or something so "roll your eyes crazy" like those that my DM would just smack me upside the head and call me Shirley, how can I get more turn attempts? Sure, I see the Undeath domain -- how can I pick that up, any PrC that I can relatively easily get into for one level that will let me pick up the Undeath domain? Do any of you have more ideas on that regard as well as what to jump into to pick up the Bone Knight PrC earlier instead of later?

Nightsticks! A 7k gp item that grants four (or was it three?) extra turning attempts.

Snag the Undeath domain if you can, it grants Extra Turning as its ability.

As for "ride", I suggest Human Paragon. Take all three levels. You will lose 1 caster level, but it lets you pick any 10 skills to be class skills--and its Adaptive Learning ability lets you pick one skill to *always* be a class skill. Level 2 grants a bonus feat and level 3 grants +2 to a stat of your choice.

Edit: oh, and since you're a Bone Knight with Persistent Spell and Divine Cheeseamagic, 1) snag a Bead of Karma (for upped Caster Level vs. Dispels), and 2) try and get access to the "Monstrous Regeneration" spell from Magic of Faerun (and converted to 3.5 without changes in Player's Guide to Faerun).
The Regeneration ability (which the spell grants) converts all but fire and acid damage to nonlethal.
Bone Knight 4 makes you immune to nonlethal damage.
