| Henrad02-09-07, 02:15 PM | This my first attempt at an optimization and I am new to the boards so forgive me if this doesn't make sense or has been done before.. There is an alterate class feature in a dragonlance source book (Holy Order of the Stars) that allows a cleric to give up the ability to spontaneoulsy cast heal/inflict spells and their domain slot in order to gain the ability to spontaneously cast any domain spell they have. I have been trying to figure out how to optimize the number of domains a character gets. So far I have this: Cloistered Cleric 3/Church Inquisitor 2/Divine Oracle 1/Seeker of the Misty Isle 7/Contemplative 6/Warpriest 1 The only "unnessesary" level is Chuch Inquisitor 2. You get the domain at 1 but I added the next level for the BA an the Sense motive class skill (which is needed for Warpriest) I know their is a PrC in one of the FR books that grants you an extra domain...but I didn't know the requirements. Might it be possible to take 1 level in that class instead of the CI? Also you could drop the 7th level of Seeker and instead take the FR Prc(you'd loose Magic domain but gain a 5th domain from your god) With the above build you get the following domains: Knowledge, Inquisistion, Oracle, Travel, Magic, Glory, + 4 from your dieties list for a total of 10 What you need for this build: You need to worship a god that has LG clerics (in order to fullfill the roleplaying aspect of CI) and since you will be gaining 4 diety domains you would want a diety with at least 4 (5 if you gain squeeze that FR class in at the right place) that are not Knowledge, Inquisistion, Oracle, Travel, or Magic. and would need to be a elf/half-elf. You need the feats Skill Knowledge (Survival) 1, Skill Focus:Knowledge(religion) 3, Combat Casting 6 Of the FR standard gods in Faiths and Pantheons (not countin racial or other pantheons) Ilmater, Gond, Chauntea, Lathander,Mystra (has 4 domains that fit), Torm, Jergal, and Ulutiu all seem to fit the bill. Using Lathander as an example. Domains: Nobility, Protection, Renewal, Sun,Knowledge, Inquisistion, Oracle, Travel, Magic, Glory Which would equal: The ability to convert memorized spells into one of 78 unique other spells (I didn't count spell duplicates of the same level, but some domains had the same spell at diffent spell levels and I included each in my count about). Plus 10 domain abilities.. plus a smattering a PrC abilities plus casting as a 17th level cleric - 1 domain spell per spell level Wow.. that is a HUGE UNBELIEVABLE amount of flexibility.. Any thoughts or comments? Thank you for you consideration: Henrad |

| FriendlyFrog02-09-07, 02:24 PM | Sovereign Speaker gets loads of domains. 9 in 9 levels, to be specific. That alternate class ability is just silly powerful! |
| smage02-09-07, 03:43 PM | Human Druid 10 / Contemplative 1 / Sovereign Speaker 9 (requires Apprentice: Philosopher feat to gain Knowledge: Religion as class skill) Alternative: Human Cleric 1 / Druid 10 / Sovereign Speaker 9 (requires Able Learner feat for early entrance); lose a caster level and Druid-applied Domain to gain DMM cheese. Odd, but interesting. P.S. - I know those aren't optimized builds. :P |
