| stanfield06-20-05, 04:53 AM | Just something fun I came across while attempting to optimize the build for my human shadowdancer. 1.) Scout: Dodge and Mobility 2.) Fighter: Comabat Expertise 3.) Scout: Improved Trip 4.) Monk: Improved Unarmed Strike and Improved Grapple 5.) Monk: Combat Reflexes 6.) Scout: Leadership 7.) Fighter: Spring Attack 8.) Scout: Improved Initiative 9.) Shadowdancer: Elusive Target Anywho another great feature was the tremendous amount of skill points (he has a 14 intelligence) a whopping 110 skillpoints to spend. Also his hitpoints was awesome too (he has a 14 constitution) with a total of 80 (i rolled decently on alot of them). Anywho just some fun combos I found and thought would share hope it helps or inspires some peeps. -Stan |
| Korhal_IV06-20-05, 10:35 PM | That's frikkin' awesome, man. |
| Mistwell06-20-05, 10:43 PM | Easier to do in Monte Cooks Arcana Unearthed/Evolved. Human Evolved 3, Ritual Warrior 4. 10 feats by 7th level. And the Human Evolved levels stack with the Ritual Warrior levels for Ritual progression. |
| Nazzareth06-20-05, 11:03 PM | Don't forget to use the Unearthed Arcana rogue variant which gains bonus feats instead of sneak attack. It makes a Good 2 level dip for fighters you lose one point off BAB and some HPs for extra skills, abilities, and two feats. |
| rilem06-20-05, 11:40 PM | If all you're looking for is feats, you should replace that shadowdancer level with a level of Cleric with some of the choicer domains (time and war for example), which boosts your feat count up to 11 in 10 levels. Anyway: The build is fine, though low on BAB (+6, only 1 better than a wizard). I think you'd be better off taking something like Cobra Strike monk (UA) as this doesn't seem like much of a grappler. That would free up an additional feat (dump leadership, too — it's pointless to have Hide in Plain Sight if your cohort is sticking out like a sore thumb). Then you can either boost your unarmed damage a bit (improved natural attack) or go WF (longspear) and Serpent Strike (eberron) and flurry with a longspear, to control more space. |
| TinManFan06-21-05, 01:35 AM | Human Ftr 4/ P Warrior 5 3 from ftr, 3 from P Warrior, 3 from levels and 1 for being a human. I personally would go Monk 6/ P Warrior 5 just to hop into the Fist of WHoever Class form XPH and abuse the hell out of the Monk's speed and the Psionic feat Up The Walls. |
| stanfield06-22-05, 08:33 PM | yeah the character is also the military leader of a city and acts as the town gaurd's captain for his frontier settlement. Also this was just a slice of his progression the character is now level 15 with the last six levels dedicated to shadowdancer in the hopes of eventually pulling off a wicked defensive roll and improved evasion combo ;p As for his grappling I have found that he excels compartively due in part to his strength of 20 which is further augmented by his belt of giant strength +6 and the feat improved grapple all said his grapple checks are at a +22 :) By no means a god amongst melee combatants but when combined with his shadow jumping and the feats quick reconnoiter (CAdventurer) and mage slayer (CArcane) he comes out being with a +10 initiative and as a greatly advantaged killer of casters due to his mobility and fighting styles. In general though he is designed for two roles in combat disabling: triping tanks or grappling casters and defending: via combat expertise/reflexes and his inherent stealth abilities allow him to control a great deal of ground in rather inventive ways ;) -Stan |
| stanfield06-22-05, 08:41 PM | Also to further roundout the character I am planning on taking assassin at 19th level and rogue at 20th level to make the most use of his shadow companion as a flanking device :D -Stan |
