Hey Ladies I'm working on a character for a specific fight.

Rules are level 11 character, about a 28 point buy system.... but ONLY stuff from the players handbook and DMG... only base races and classes, no prestiege. Only opportunity for lots of customization is I have 750,000 GP to spend.

I have a good build laid out but I wanna see if you guys can improve it at all or have any suggestions...

purpose for the character is one big arena fight with a bunch of other people with characters designed... so no RPing is needed... just killing everyone else before they kill me (usually about 10 people or so... not 10 on one... just a free for all)

ANYWHO here's my idea tell me if you have suggestions:

Half Orc with as much STR as possible, the rest split between dex/wis and con. Basic tripper build, as many monk levels as possible, if I need more feats, then fighter to replace monk levels.

I figure with 750k GP everyone will be pretty reliant on magical equipment, and they'll be able to pull out a lot of magical tricks... so I'm gonna spend my first round using a scroll to put an antimagic field around myself. Because I'll spend my time in antimagic, I can get as much non magical stuff as I need pretty cheap, and the rest of my money can be spent on stuff like tanglefoot bags and magical equipment to protect myself while until the antimagic field is on.

For feats, I know I obviously need combat expertise, combat reflexes, improved trip, and exotic weapon proficiency (spiked chain)... and also deflect arrows for those silly archers who fire from outside my antimagic field.

Most of that I can get from monk levels (I should still use feats for exotic weapon proficiency, and deflect arrows but all the other feats I usually use for trippers are from books outside the PHB.

I wrote this while on the phone with a very confusing woman, so I hope this makes sense... tell me if it doesn't.... but does anyone have a suggestion as to what feats would be helpful/any reason to take levels as something other than monk for the build/etc.

I hope to have a high AC due to the dex/wis thing, land just use crowd control while throwing them off guard by tripping them and beating them while on the ground. Last year with a similar 3.0 version of this build I had a problem with a grappler, but with a high strength monk with improved grapple, I don't see that as a problem.

Any suggestions for nonmagical items I can use for this? I could always go the fighter rout so I can have adamantine armor (still getting DR in the antimagic field) and whirlwind tripping... but I assume the 11th level monk's 4 attacks per round will trip anyone close enough to me.

Also, I need to know the best trip I can have at 11th level without magic, using only the PHB and DMG.

assuming a 22(+6) str, and improved trip (+4), assuming I'm fighting someone the same size.... that's still only a d20+10. Do spiked chains still have a bonus to tripping or is that only for disarming? Do you get a bonus to tripping for using a large weapon 2 handed, or is that also only for disarming? dammit....
