I'm fairly new to D&D and I have never played a Druid before, but they look like they are alot of fun.

DM is letting me make a level 10 Druid to join our group.
Race: Human
Stats are
17
17
16
16
14
13
Should the high ones go to con and wisdom?

I've heard that Aug. Summoning, Spell Focus Conjuation, Natural Spell are good.

What are some other feats and equipment I should get.

here is how I reccomend putting your stats at this level:

str:14
dex:16
con:17
int:13
wis:17
cha:16

and because you are >level 8 you get 2 +1 bonuses to put into any stats you want. I suggest wis and con.

those are decent feats for you're general all purpose druid. Other good ones will depend on your focus. If you are going caster oriented you should consider the spell penetration feats. If you are going combat oriented you should consider feats that support the animal form you intend to take on. For example, if you are going to be a dire wolf, take combat expertise and improved trip for an infinit damage combo.

For items I suggest getting things that will up your wisdom, and pehaps some wild armor, though that may be a bit too expensive for you. An animated shield is another option for upping your defence.

Could you explain this infinite damage combo?

the dire wolf has an ability that lets it make an extra trip attempt on a succesful bite. Improved trip lets you make an extra attack after a successful trip. Lather, rinse, repeat.

now i'm sure you are wondering how you can trip somebody who is prone. The answer is "there is nowhere in the rules that says you cant". Soooo... clear it with your dm, and then do infinit damage. though seriously, he should say that you cant trip a prone person, but thats just a personal opinion.

You should definitely put your three highest stats in WIS, INT, CHA. in that order. Your physical stats are meaningless, as you should be spending all your time wildshaped.

INT over CHA because Druids have an awesome skill list.

There's also nowhere in the rules that says you can't hop on your left foot three times, shout "Ugga bugga bugga!" and be granted fifteen million experience points.

"There's nowhere in the rules that says you can't" is not the same as "The rules say you can."

Since noone has asked...

Are you going to focus on being a Wildshaping fool? If so, you need to get the following feats: Exalted Wildshape, Dragon Wildshape, and definately Natural Spell.
The ability to become a Celestial templated Dragon is pretty nice.

what I meant to say, is that I was too lazy/busy to look up the thread where the trip chain was proved OK. Here is where it is at preasant.

Thank you Snow Savant (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=290720)

To be honest, I don't see any proof in that thread. I see Snow saying it can be done, and I've already made a promise that I won't argue with Snow over "The rules don't say I can't do it!" anymore.

I stand by my position, though: "The rules don't say I can't!" is not synonymous with "This is legal by the rules."

The sage might have ruled this legal--I certainly don't think Snow would lie about that--but he does a lot of weird things nowadays. I really don't think it's Skip writing the rulings anymore, to be honest.

This is part of why I stopped paying attention to anything in Dragon magazine years ago, and have a blanket ban on such material at my table.

I recommend Extend Spell and Natural Spell.

Also keep in mind that all of your self buffs affect your animal companion.

I say extend spell because Druids have a lot of 1-3 level 10min/level buff spells.

Buy some non-magical Barding for your companion and have the party cleric hit it with Magic Vestment once per day (agree to mem a 3rd level curative in return or something) and buy however many Pearls of Power 1-3 you need to keep your buffs running.

Btw: I posted in another thread, but I think the FAQ ruling on Animal Companions is horrid. 2 Thumbs way down.

And, if you're going Summoner, then for heavens sake take Rashemi Elemental Summoning of Snow Savant will get terribly mad ;)

Sorry but that doesn't work; it's celestial animals only. But hey it's still a really good feat...

So when i wildshape i take the STR and DEX but i keep my other stats?
Do i add my base attack to the animals attack?

So when i wildshape i take the STR and DEX but i keep my other stats? No, you take the Str, Dex, and Con of the creature's form. That means that Con isn't nearly as important as it used to be. I'd probably place your stats thusly:
Str: 13
Dex: 14
Con: 16
Int: 17
Wis: 17 (Increase to 19 with the two level increases)
Cha: 16
Do i add my base attack to the animals attack?Yes, you maintain your BAB and Base Save Bonuses. It's easiest to just pick a handful of combat forms and stick with those, and stat them out, just like you were writing up a seperate character sheet for each form. You can either copy/paste creature write-ups from the SRD, and then input your attack, save, and AC bonuses (from spells and items with wilding clasps; or if you have a liberal DM who allows animal forms to still wear items) into the entries, then print them out, or you can go HERE (http://www.thegamemechanics.com/freebies/index.asp), scroll to the bottom of the page and download the Initiative Cards. The monster init card sheet is a great way to make mini-character sheets for your different forms.

Does anyone have a compiled Druid Spell list from all the manuels?

It might be tapering in usefulness at that level, so that's why it needs to be extended: use the spell Produce Flame to enhance your melee damage in animal form. It'll add 8.5 fire damage to each claw and bite (in bear form or whatever). That's 25.5 fire damage a round, if all three hit. Its only first level.

Wow thanks that spell sounds extremely useful. Which book can I find info on Produce Flame ?

I have to echo the recommendation above for Natural Spell. It's fun to take the form of a nice little robin or bluebird, fly right up to the Orc's camp, take a nice position in a tree, and call Flame Strike down on their chieftain. :D

i agree with those stats also.

btw you cant use produce flame that way. please read again that spell (it works off iterative attacks and not natural attacks)

here are other feats you should consider:
rapid wild shape (don t remember)
rapid spell (CD)
Rashemi summoning (FR specific)
Oaken resiliance

enjoy
