Mondreyes 09-23-04, 11:30 AM	This one seems pretty easy even to someone who is new to 3.0 or 3.5. Fighter/2, Wizard/5, Eldritch Knight/5 Does that seem about right?
Blade2718 09-23-04, 11:39 AM	Usually, people only go with Ftr1 because there aren't a lot of feats required to build a gish. But hey, more power to 'ya. Try to add a Spellsword level so you can wear a +1 twilight mithril chain shirt or something.
Mondreyes 09-23-04, 11:41 AM	Blade2718-- The character has a pretty good AC from 2nd edition so I don't need the chain shirt but I am still debating on the Fighter/2 or that 6th level spell.
Blade2718 09-23-04, 11:46 AM	Well, Spellsword still gives your +1 BAB and +1 caster level, so even if you decide you don't care two bent coppers about the -10% ASF reduction, you've still gained a lot.

If so, why wouldn't Ftr1 be sufficient to allow this char to wear such a shirt? Mondreyes, Also consider that Wiz6 also gives +1 BAB, +1 Caster Level, and I think even +1 to all three saves. Cold Napalm 09-23-04, 08:34 PM	Humm... Fighter 1/wizard 6/spellsword 5 is fun for 12th levels and plans to not go much higher. Spell channel lets you do mean mean things...espcially with a sword of spell storing. BAB 9 with CL 9. Progression from there is either spellsword to get more spell channel and possible dual channel or go into EK to get to prismatic spary ASAP to spell channel that. For going to 20th level, I would most likely cut back spellsword to 3 and go EK to get 9th level spells eventually. If your going to epic...then well what do you want first 9th level spells or spell channel? Also if your in FR, tossing in incantrix can be fun for epic level games.

Cold Napalm 09-23-04, 08:54 PM	Spellsword gets CL every other level. You stop at 1/3/5/10 basically. That is why I mentioned you stop spellsword at 3 and go EK to get 9th level spells. Incantrix is a really broken wizard prestige class to begin with and since at epic you don't get BAB anymore, the wizard BAB isn't so bad for a gish build. They get to do some nifty stuff with meta magic like apply it to spell triggers and take control of spell and stuff like that.

Norad 09-23-04, 09:42 PM	My personal favorite: Battle Sorcerer 6/Eldritch Knight 6 Feats: Militia at 1st level or Dwarf Fighter 1/Wizard 4/Runesmith 1/Eldritch Knight 6 BAB +9 Caster level: 10th Can cast spells in full armor.
Cold Napalm 09-23-04, 10:00 PM	incantrix/epic incantrix is in players guide to faerun...one really broken class...I mean they get an epic feat as a class skill at level 10. Not as bad as the swashbuckler who gets better then epic feat at 3 but...hey, they don't have instant meta magic now do they hehe.
SolitudeSeraph 09-23-04, 10:03 PM	Pertaining to the AC issue...a straight wizard can wear a +1 twilight mithral chain shirt (even if he's not proficient...) why? No ASF, No AC Check Penalty.....if you're not proficient then you suffer the AC penalty on EVERYTHING but since there is none..you don't have to worry :D

Mondreyes 09-23-04, 10:43 PM	I see that Militia Feat every where but do not know what it does or where it is from? Seems like 1-2 levels of Fighter and then Wizard/Sorcerer is better deal.
Cold Napalm 09-23-04, 11:59 PM	militia is a FR feat... For spell sword, yes because you need all armor prof...but for EK, no becuase then you get to keep your CL. So think of it as militia +wizard to EK. See?
