| Kapitanturtle07-22-06, 07:41 PM | Looking to suppliment my lvl 15 fighter-type with some spellcaster support. DD spells would be nice, but some battlefield control would be better. I was thinking either 13 wizard or 13 psion. All books available, any classes, etc. No Dragon/Dungon mag or 3rd party splats though. Ah, forgot to say, the fighter is C.E. so an evil class would be perfect. |

Enjoy a variety of different spells from both the Druid spell-list, the Travel domain and some obscure evil domain that you can choose, all by yourself. Also, experience the benefits of a free Raise Dead once a week AND a permanent Circle of Protection Against Evil, both great abilities when having troubles with your adventuring party or said evil NPCs. Battlefield control you ask? Why sure, how about near permanent Walls of Coldfire or Sand around the battlefield? Do we like Guide Magic? Oh yes we do. So don't hesitate, pick up your Complete Divine now, and make a Spirit Shaman. (For more information on Spirit Shamans, click here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=611506). No refunds included.) |

| VonRichthofen07-23-06, 10:23 AM | You don't need anything spiffy... go for Cleric 13, he's gonna mop the floor with your fighter with the proper feats & gear... Building a super-tough maxed-out cohort will only lead to your fighter becoming a mite bit o'pale before his/her powers. |

I think the PC in question is CE. Imagine the poor leader bombarded by the holy aura of his cohort eveyday :P |
| Necromas07-23-06, 01:42 PM | Clerics are nice for the healing and buffs since your a fighter type (Just got stabbed, and you can see your intestines falling out? heal spell! Want to do better in combat? Buffs! Fighting undead? turned/smited!). Wizards/Sorcs have better battlefield control, and of course offensive spells, and they get buffs to toss on you (want a +5 weapon but can only afford a +3? get a +1 Holy sword and use greater magic weapon to make it +3 holy, dont like it when people stab you? have the wizard cast stoneskin on you, enemy happens to resist your attempts to run him through, have the wizard soften him up with some spells). |
| Pinky's brain07-23-06, 02:52 PM | A druid X/hierophant 1 is pretty sweet, since he can transfer his wild shape ability to you (of course you can just abuse the hell out of polymorph too, but wild shape leaves less of a bad taste in your mouth). Ain't a bad spellcaster either. Unfortunately without sanctum spell munchkinery you are 1 level short of pulling it off. |
| Balthanon07-23-06, 03:06 PM | AND a permanent Circle of Protection Against Evil, both great abilities when having troubles with your adventuring party or said evil NPCs. Circle of Protection against Spirits actually--as defined in the class entry (basically elementals, fey, and just about anything incorporeal). It just references circle of protection for the mechanics. |
