| Harkle10-03-06, 05:41 PM | I'm thinking of running a campaign where the villain is a Thrall of Orcus that serves as a cult leader, but I can't seem to come up with a good build for him. I'd like him to focus more on being a divine spell caster, but Thrall of Orcus kinda sucks in that area. I'm open to any evil build options you guys can come up with to make him a nearly unstoppable villan I'm open to any WotC stuff with the exception of Ebberon material, I'll be happy with 3.0 stuff adapted for 3.5 if you want to use it. My restrictions are make sure the guy is beatable, no pun-puns, keep treasure appropriate for the level, and I'd like him to be effective anywhere from level 15-20 since I'm not sure when I'll actually get around to using this guy. Also I'd like to get as much out of Thrall of Orcus levels as possible but I'm a little flexable in that area. Thanks for the help and ideas ahead of time. |

And what better way to worship a demon than to defy the gods themselves? Paladin of Slaugher 4/Thrall of Orcus2/Ur-Priest7/Thrall of Orcus+7 almost maxes you out on Thrall of Orcus levels, gets you level 9 cleric spells, but loses the spellcasting level from the first Thrall of Orcus level (only increasing your awful Paladin casting) to qualify for Ur-Priest. There may be a better build out there with Human Paragon levels, but I'm tuckered out. Edit: Yeah, I don't think you can qualify for Ur-Priest with the awful skills you get -- your first level may have to be Human Paragon, just for the Adaptive Learning ability and the skill points. That pushes back Paladin of Slaughter's access to necromancy spells even more, bumping the build back more. Bards get both skill points and Necromancy spells, but do you really want a singing villain? :P |

My DM tried to pin us down and force us to eat it - make a fort save or die and rise as a vampire the next night. The +8 LA kinda stuffed my character when I ate it of my own volition, but it was fun while it lasted (the DM brought in a Sun domain cleric to finish him off after a couple of sessions). |

I'm sure i'll be able to figure out how to meet the skills requirments, that kind if thing I'm good at working around to get what I need. If I have extra feats I might make his constitution really high and get a few feats to make him really hard to hurt I know there are some nice ones in Savage Species for damage reduction. Any further ideas would be appreciated. |
