so, my DM will be running a little side-show soon, and I want suggestions for a 15th level dervish.

here are the rules:

core books and the complete series. we also have access to complete divine, the draconomicon, and BoED and BoVD. and the races books, stone, wild, and destiny.

point buy is 30, assume non-magical equipment. yes, it's a fairly low magic world.

of course, my initial thought was a simple fighter2, swashbuckler 3, dervish 10.

but then I thought scout might be a good option, as in, fighter2, scout4, dervish 9. now I am thinking of dervish 8 scout5, mostly because I am worried about damage reduction.

Well if you're not aversed to Elves then try to fit CoC (Champion of Corellon Larethian, Races of the Wild) 2 into the Build. This will net you Dex to Dmg.
Together with Swb you now get Str+Int+Dex to Dmg. And because you will be using two Weapons as a Dervish (you were, weren't you ?) your Dex should be high enough to add a decent amount of Dmg.
Here's a build I'm using for a NPC in my Campaign at the moment:

Rg 1/Ftr 2/Swb 3/Der 2/CoC 2/8 more Lvls of Der/Tempest 2

Feats taken (in that order): TWF, Dodge, Mobility, Combat Expertise, Mounted Combat, WF (Longsword), Improved Trip, ITWF, Greater TWF,
Elusive Target, Improved Crit

Of course, some of the feats might not be the best choices, and I'm positive that some of the more experienced poeple here can improve sth.
But I think it's a solid and fun to play build.

I think the swash 3/ fighter 2 is ultimately the best way to go into dervish.

I know it is something of a hearsay, but strength based THF dervishes can hit hard and dont have to worry about damage reduction and things immune to critcs.

Ranger 2 / Fighter 2 / Barbarian 1 / Dervish 10.

Use a Falchion. Use your Dervish dance bonus to fuel power attack. Pick up expeditious dodge instead of dodge.

Dwarf

Scout5/Fighter2/ExoticWeaponMaster2/Dervish6

1) Scout Dodge
2) Dwarven Fighter substitution (equiv Weap focus with all axes)
3) Scout Uncanny Dodge, Combat Expertise
4) Fighter TWF
5) Scout
6) Scout Mobility, Improved Trip
7) Dervish
8) Exotic Weapon Master -- Trip with your Dw. Waraxe
9) EWM Oversized TWF -- Lower your penalties by 1 with both waraxes (EWM ability states only that it works with the same light exotic weapon, but I think it's a reasonable request to make...if not, then ignore this level and take Scout5 or Dervish2 here instead of later)
10) Scout
11-15) Dervish
________

Human

Bard8/Dervish5/SublimeChord2/

Cha synchronicity with Snowflake Wardance, Bardic levels, and you'll be buffing your party with +2 to hit/damage...while dervish dancing. The Sublime Chord is there to access Polymorph...you can be a singing, dancing Firbolg...Power Attack works pretty well here also...
