| Ringmereth10-08-04, 06:05 PM | A'right, I'm joining a 20th level campaign, and one of my necromancer's feats is Leadership. Due to massive houserulage, everyone is a wizard. So, a magic-user is basically out. I was thinking of a rogue/assassin or rogue/shadowdancer or something like that, but pretty much any high-power character will do nicely. The GM will allow any material from the following, as well as the Core Rulebooks: Book of Exalted Deeds Book of Vile Darkness Deities & Demigods Epic Level Handbook Expanded Psionics Handbook Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting Ghostwalk Manual of the Planes Oriental Adventures Races of Faerun Masters of the Wild Sword & Fist Tome & Blood I would be infinitely grateful if the min/maxing geniuses here could put together something nice for me. Many thanks. |

Get Rings of Shield Other and he will always take half your Dmg. With that many wizards in a group - you dont really need a Cohort that can deal dmg - you all will be laying down Serious smack - focus on somone who can keep you alive instead < imo that is > Also - if you give him VoP - you wont every have to worry about equiping him :) |
| MetalGemini10-08-04, 07:29 PM | You can go for the pairing of Red Wizard (you) + Thayan Knight (cohort). Don't have my books with me now to recheck the Thayan Knight PrC, but I think its a decent one. |
| Ringmereth10-09-04, 12:13 AM | Now that's not a bad idea. I take it both PrCs are from the FRCS? |
| scrollreader10-09-04, 02:34 AM | Originally from the FRCS, yes. But they're in the 3.5 DMG and Complete Warrior, respectively. IMO, the best choice is a small dip into Thayan Knight, followed by frenzied berserker fun. Since the Thayn Knight /automatically/ fails his saves against you, you can keep the Berserker under control quite easily. Which is a good thing. |
