strictly speaking, a NarD has the ability to _cast_ 2nd-level arcane spells; the fact that his spell-list is a bit thin at that level is trivial. why bother spending a feat on Arcane Preparation, when all you would need to do is research a 2nd-level NarD spell or two?

Also, im curious .. why 4 levels of UP?

Nexus method is my new favorite way to know 2nd level arcane spells.

Several Ur-Priest/Nard builds have been posted before; check out my Munchking build or Snow Savant's Triple Threat build.

That said, your build is nice - good work and welcome to the club. ;)

Regional feat for arcane spellcaster who can prepare spells. Think the arcane version of Druid spontanious casting :D

the only issue with the ND is that it is only a secondary arcane caster.

i think there wont be much that comes further then the casterlevel-45 necro-urpriest-build...

You don't waste any BAB points by getting 4 levels of Ur-Priest. I mean, yeah, you waste one at 1st level, but that's all. You get rebuke undead at 3rd level, and that's gonna be usfeul for your Divine Might ability. Yoy could end up right there if you wish and swap for a Master Of Shrouds level. Actually there are lots of variations of a theme at higher levels with this build... what I like about it is that it's pretty playable at every level; even when you are fighter and has to waste lots of feats. By Epic levels it should not be that great; its caster level is a little feeble after all. I myself never got past 19th level anyway, so it doesn't really bother me hehe

Thank you LordShade :)

I checked out your Ur-Priest... it's pretty cool, but a little different as mine is more of a warrior and less of a wizard. I must check out the Triple Threat, however.

Guarnasco, problem is, I wanted this build to be a warrior as well as a divine/arcane spellcaster... your build is a good spellcaster, while lacking a combat prowess.

i understeand your position....

But:

my deep imaskari variant still gett access to polynoph in a whole range of jucy combatcrazed outsiders, get armored arcane spellcasting (up to a twilight full plate or even darwen stone arour made of bended quarz) with no failure and 3 attacs...

i admit this is not so impressive, while casting 9° in both arcane and divine could be usefull... with arcane strike + 9 to hit and a +9d4 to damage to all attacs in a round is quite good IMO.

True, as much as a hasted 20th level wizard polymorphed into a Firbolg, or a cleric with divine power, divine favor, and righteous might !

Any of those can kick a common fighter's ass, but they don't have a cool fighter 'feel'.

And you can still use 8th level arcane strike with my build ;)

Btw, Arcane Strike is one of the coolest feats ever!

You don't really need Occult Slayer, if you don't mind giving up some of the neat Paladin of Tyranny toys. Bluff and Spellcraft are also class skills for the Hexblade. Which segues directly into:

Hexblade3 / Fighter2 / Ur-Priest2 / MasterOfShrouds6 / NarDemonbinder1 / MysticTheurge2 / Dragonslayer1 / Spellsword1 / TrueNecromancer1 /ThrallOfDemogorgon1

Yes, you get to freely select only one feat your entire career, plus one fighter feat. Besides which, you're probably aggressively psychotic, are definitely sworn to the service of a demon prince who's presumably pretty ticked off at the fact that you've been binding his servants for the past 7 levels, plus you are undoubtedly hated by every good-aligned divine spellcaster everywhere and darn near every good-aligned being period. But enh, details! In exchange, you get:

* +16 BAB
* All 10 levels of Ur-Priest casting.
* All 7 levels of Nar Demonbinder casting.
* Stackable caster levels for Necromancy and Death domain spells.
* Mettle.
* -10% ASF
* And all the usual Spellsword & Master of Shrouds toys.

It's not the spellcaster that LordShade's "Bob the Ultimate Necromancer" build is, but it does have its compensations. And on the up side, at least the Thrall of Demogorgon level provides a convenient fig leaf to explain away all the schizophrenic multiclassing you've been engaged in. Alternatively, if you'd prefer to serve a demon prince who's ticked at you for binding both types of his servants, and you don't mind being down to one free fighter feat ever, you can swap Thrall of Orcus in as your last level instead.

"But saetto!" you're saying. "What do I do after Complete Divine comes out and Master of Shrouds isn't a full BAB class anymore, the probability of which I conservatively estimate at 105%?"

Not a problem! Behold:

Hexblade3 / Fighter2 / Ur-Priest4 / MasterOfShrouds4 / NarDemonbinder2 / MysticTheurge2 / Dragonslayer1 / Spellsword1 / ThrallOfWhomever1.

Yes, you lose the extra tasty goodness of stackable caster levels, you have to stick it out through two mostly-empty Ur-Priest levels (divine SR 15 isn't going to help you a whole lot), and you don't get 9th-level Ur-Priest casting until 1 level later, but you still get +16 BAB and full spellcasting progression in both of your spellcasting classes. If your DM has completely lost his mind, you could also swap Bladesinger 1 in for Thrall of Whomever 1, although this will reduce you to zero feats that aren't already preselected -- since you've already blown a feat on Arcane Preparation to make the NarD/MyTh combo work, you might as well use it for this one, too.

You'll need to be human and have an Intelligence of at least 14 (or Int 16 for other races), and equal or better stats in everything else are probably desirable.

Really, that's very good... don't forget that dragons also hate you - you're a dragonslayer, after all. :D
