A DM in our group is starting the World's Largest Dungeon soon and I am totally set on making some sort of psionic character. I decided against soul knife (for now) but I can't decide between an Erudite or Wilder.

Wilder: So long as you get Psychic Reconfiguration, you're not too limited. Mmm. Tasty versitility at the cost of one 4th level power. I think this is an awesome idea.

Erudite: Knowledge of dozens of powers, but you can only use a certain few every day, and once you pick, you're stuck.

Has anyone considered the benefits of an Erudite/Cognition Thief? At every manifester level gained, he gets two new powers of his choosing from the Psion/Wilder list. At other levels, he can get any two telepathy discipline powers he wants, whether their from the Telepath list, the regular psion list, or (I believe) the psychci warrior list. I'd have loads of powers to choose from!

I can't decide. I'm thinking Erudite, but I figured one or two of you might have some interesting builds to help me along. I don't want to play a psion or psywar, just a wilder or erudite. Any ideas on builds?

Erudite is best if you are also picking up powers from other psions.

is that going to happen in your game?

Cognition Thief is nice because you can add telepathy specific powers without spending a feat for each one. I'd probably pick up dominate, charm, brain lock and a couple others. You may not need to take too many levels of CT just because there aren't *that* many powers you need.

The neat thing is, you'd definately have some powers to go trade with your other Erudite buddies.

Erudite just sounds too good. I'm going to go with an Erudite, though I don't know which race (I'm thinking either a strongheart halfling or a human, this is an FR campaign by the way). Powers shouldn't be too hard to decide, take the required Mind Thrust, Energy Ray, and Crystal Shard, and pick other powers according to intelligence bonus. Two big questions are these:

1) Which feats should I pick? I have no clue about them.

2) What kind of equipment?

3) Is multiclassing good for an Erudite, if only to get weapon and armor proficiency?

Thank you for any and all help.
