So here is what I rolled 17, 15, 15, 12, 12 ,10.

If you had the choice to make any race/class combo what would you try.

I'm thinking of making a Wood Elf with the following

Str 17 +2 Racial for 19 +4 mod

Dex 15 +2 Racial for 17 +3 mod

Con 12 -2 Racial for 10 +0

INT 12 -2 racial for 10 +0

Wis 15

Cha 10

Class at first level either Ranger or Fighter then at second pick cleric.

With Fighter I get extra feats, however with a ranger I get favoured enemies bonuses and two-weapon fighting faster than fighter.

Tough choice. But for sure my second class will be Cleric. On 4th level I can decide if the group then need more spells from my cleric and go with improving my WIS by one or my Str by one and become a huge melee threat.

Two things I see that are weak about this character are CON no bonus hit points and no bonus Fortitude save.

Second low skills due to no bonus INT. That's ok since I will just focus my skills on what my character ONLY needs to do.

So would you pick Fighter for your first level and get that extra feat or take Ranger for Favoured emeny?

Personally I wouldn't do cleric either way if you're doing ranger or fighter at 1. The only way I see a cleric/fighter working out is Prestige Paladin.

That said, if you're hellbent on X 1 / Cleric 1, i'd go Fighter since Ranger skills arent supported by cleric skill points, nor are their bonus feats synergetic with heavy armor proficiency.

Depending on how far you are planning to take cleric, you might want to swap your STR with your WIS. High DEX bonus aint gonna do squat if you don some Heavies so you might wanna throw that into CHA. Other than that I would agree with the above that you just pick up a two level drop in Fighter for the bonus feats. I would not go TWF route with a Cleric, however. Casting spells with two weapons in hand is pretty difficult.

Or be a ranger/druid - it's kinda like a cleric - you get healing at low levels, the armor restictions don't nerf each other and you get 2wf.
