I'm starting a new campaign at level 1, each one of us starts with 2 characters so i wanted to min/max that fact in order to make good pc's.

For one of them I was thinking to make him (archer) ranger/sniper (or any combination with fighter or so that could be good, also giving some skill goodies) but I don't know what to make for the other one so I can max-out the power of an archer plus having another good pc...

Well, despite my thoughts, any suggestion would be great even if there isn't an archer, so I'm opened to any idea! :P

The stats will be like:

1st pc: 10 16 14 13 12 12
2nd pc: 10 10 18 13 16 16

All books allowed, no dragon mag.

Thank you in advance for any reply! :)

EDIT: also we have house ruled archers have got 30ft threaten area.

Good use of the Chaemelon, however, if it is allowed, I would make one of them an Artificer from Eberron. It is like a magic item machine and it is the perfect complement to any character whatsoever. And the good thing is that with Artificers there is no need to take a PrC b/c their class abilities are just soo useful.

ranger 2/ swashbuckler 3/ chameleon 10/ master thrower 5

How does master thrower improve an archer?

Also what's the equivalent of elhonna on FR?

Thanks!

the master thrower would allow you to make lots of trip attacks in Short range..........to keep opponents from closing in to melee with you. basically use your bow at medium and long range then switch to throwing daggers for short range and sword for melee.

i dont have any books with me right now........but IIRC, Mellikie(i forgot the spelling) is pretty close.......Ehlonna gives these domains:

Sun.........good because: prerequisite for RSoE, Greater turning,Sunbeam
Animal......good because: 9th lvl Shapechange spell
Plant........good because: plant turnings can be used to power Divine Spell power
Celerity.....good because:8th lvl Improved Blink, 9th lvl Time Stop
Good........

the First 4 domains are what you want...........look for a deity that gives them, just start with any deity that gives Sun domain and go from there.

where can I find radiant servant of elhonna?
carnivore

it is "Radient Servant of Pelor"......in the second paragraph in the description, it says it can be used by any deity that gives access to the Sun domain. so just change the name...the class is the same.

it is found in Complete Divine.

Feats? Domains? (Just Curious.)
carnivore

for the cleric:domains(sun/animal/plant/celerity)

qualifying feats for RSoE and Divine disciple, also go the extend, persistant, Divine metamagic route, divine spell power, and domain spontaneity(celerity)

the ranger/swash/chameleon/MT.......point blk shot, precise shot, weapon focus(dagger) , rapid shot, 2 weapon fighting, weapon finnesse(either dagger or rapier)

just a rough idea :D

I've seen on various archer builds that they take before 10th level, the quick draw feat, is that a prerequisite for some PC, because I dont see the advantage in there...

For a good two-man team, I like a wizard and a devoted defender bodyguard. For the wizard, just use any standard wizard build that you like. There are plenty. A simple and very powerful one is Wiz6/Incantrix10/Archmage4 (or less Archmage). There were several threads a while back on coming up with the best "bodyguard" builds for wizards. Here are some links to some of what was posted in them:

Shou Defender (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=2723203&postcount=4)

with Shaman levels (for Shield Other and a bit of healing) (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=2820427&postcount=12)

Devoted Singh Rager (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=224436)

Another good team is a grappler and a sneak attacker, since grappled targets lose their Dex mod to AC. If you use a monk based grappler, both of them can be fairly good at stealth, also. So they can be the "scouts" of the party, and maybe sneak behind the enemy lines and take out their support classes. Again, there are lots of builds on the boards for these two also. Here are a couple I like:

Assassin (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=4078961&postcount=8) and Grappler (http://boards1.wizards.com/showpost.php?p=2674339&postcount=244)

If you want to be really mean against undeads , you could take levels in Radiant Servant of Horus-Re and in Eye of Horus-Re.

I have read the Insightfull strike from swashbuckler and it says it applies to weapons which can be used with "weapon finnese" does a Bow qualify in there...? Also any thrown weapon directly uses dex, so they couldn't apply either...am I having soemthing wrong?
