How's this for a build? Using only 3.5 core rules.

Human Rogue 19/Fighter 1.
1. Power Attack
1. Cleave
3. Two Weapon Fighting
6. Great Cleave
9. Improved Two Weapon Fighting
12. Combat Reflexes
15. Greater Two Weapon Fighting (BAB 11, right?)
18. Combat Expertise
20. Improved Trip

Using flails or something at higher level.
7 attacks per round, more if your targets provoke AoO or if you can Cleave or Great Cleave. If your opponents are flanked or denied their AC, you are getting +10d6 damage, which should help you get to use Great Cleave. Right?

Um .... what weapons are you using?

You can't Power Attack with Light Weapons in 3.5.

And with Rogue-heavy builds, you are better off going TWF with feats that help you get more attacks to boost your SA, & SA-friendly feats. Ex. - Expert Tactician, Quicker Than The Eye, Quick Draw, Imp. Initiative, etc.

Also, if you want to dilute a pure Rogue-20 build to get some Fighter benefits, go Rogue-16 with 4 levels of +1 BAB/Lvl classes.

Um...quarterstaff?

And the power attack was really to qualify for cleave and great cleave.

But thanks for the heads up. Heck, I've never played a PC with double digit levels.

Okay, quarterstaff. And you are looking for versatility. What are your stats? You best have a HUGE strength in order to get max benefits out of Cleaving and Tripping.

And note, tripping strategies are best suited with a bunch of feats that compliment them - Wolf Berserker, Jotenbrud, & Imp. Trip is a nice combo. And you want these at early levels, not later. Tripping Fire Giants and flying Dragons at later levels becomes obviously less optimal where you are clearly outclassed in size/STR and many creatures are in the air.

Again, let's see those stats...

Drop the Power Attack, Cleave, Great Cleave thing. That ain't gonna happen with a rogue. Weapon Finesse is the way to go. Weild two rapiers and suck up the -4 (which will be easier if you are using Dex. to attack. Myself, I would weild only one weapon. Rogues can benefit from a free hand.

Max. out Bluff, take Combat Expertise and Improved Feint. These are amazing feats - both of them. Also dodge, mobility, spring attack is vital as you can hit your opponent and not stick around for their full attack spread.

It would look something like this if you were human.

1st - Dodge
Hum - Mobility (you will fail Tumbles at low level, this will save you)
3rd - Weapon Finesse
6th - Spring Attack
9th - Combat Expertise (A 9th level rogue has BAB +6, so you're right on time)
12th - Improved Feint
15th - Quicker Than the Eye (gives you a free action when you feint)
18th - Whatever. You could even take Whirlwind Attack. (HA!) Maybe a Sneak Attack feat like Hamstring.

with a twf roge... I would suggest Invisible Blade [CW]... allows feint free action. You could potentially get all your attacks with sneak on them.

strongheart halfling

1 R point blank shot, far shot 1d6
2 r
3 r weapon focus daggers 2d6
4 r
5 r 3d6
6 IB TWF 4d6
7 IB
8 IB feint move equiv 5d6
9 IB take 10 on feint GTWF
10 IB free action feint 6d6

personally I would argue a change in prerequisite feats since they changed the Invisible blade so its not such a thrown weapon monster. Perhaps weapon finese instead and skill focus bluff might make sense?

Lord Ark & Ambiguity ... whoa, Boys!

SmiloDan wants to fight with a Q-Staff, not rapiers or daggers. Let's see what his stats are first, then we can make suggestions to customize & min/max his build.

A lot of his build depends on his STR stat. I doubt it's going to be 18 or so ... and if that's the case, his strategy will need adjustments.
