20 Full Attacks in one Round? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Given the following combo, besides roleplaying considerations and DM disallowance, is there really a reason not to have any melee'r cherry pick 1 level of Warblade either as their 9th level or thereabouts?

If there is only one meleer, they can use White Raven Tactics to give anybody they want an extra turn every other round. They need only delay their initiative each round until 'after Bob goes'.

The true strength lies in two or more meleers cherry picking a single level of Warblade, where they each spend their Swift to White Raven Tactics the other guy, then on the other guys round they use Warblade recovery with a full attack! That's basically a free full-attack each and every round for all of your meleers! Watch out for this one comming from the enemies as well.

If you've got two casters, you might be crazy to drop a caster level, but cherrypicking Warblade lets you sneak in an extra free arcane strike, or the equivalent of a free quickened spell.

It gets every better if you're a Ruby Knight Vindicator, able to spend two turn attempts to give someone else two turns a round for as long as you've got turn attempts, just by delaying "Until after Bob goes" every round. You go last, that's the price of giving someone two actions.

Then there's the Ruby Knight Vindicator Nova. You pick up Leadership and make your cohort be a Ruby Knight Vindicator the same as you. Depending on your commitment to the nova, you may buy Extra Turning. Rest assured, your Cohort probably spends every feat he has on Extra Turning. You two have also got at least an 18 charisma after items, and a Nightstick.

So lets assume after mods, feats, and Nightstick you've got 20-40 turn attempts. That's when you just bounce off eachother..

Player1: Swift WRT to P2, Full Round, Divine Impetus, Divine Recovery WRT.
Player2: Swift WRT to P1, Full Round, Divine Impetus, Divine Recovery WRT.

Until all the turn attempts are burned up. Your initiative just goes into the negatives. In either case, having a Ruby Knight Vindicator Cohort for any build practically garuntees you two rounds every round for 10-20+ rounds a day. That's two spells, two full attacks, two ANYTHING.

I don't have the tome of battle so I can't really comment on this right now, but if you haven't I suggest you go here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=680285). The combo might already be on that thread, or if it isn't, you can double check the validity there.

Okay, so the combo runs like this:

Initative count, say, 15: Ftr 1 Makes a full attack, then White Raven Tactics Ftr 2 to count 14

Count 14: Ftr 2 Makes a full Attack, and white raven tactics ftr 1 to initative count 13

Count 13: Ftr 1 takes a swift action to activate the warblade's recovery, then full attacks, and.... nothing. He can't activate white raven tactics again because he already used his swift action to recover it, and besides that, the warblade specifically states you can't use a manuver in the round you recover your manuvers using their swift+attack or standard action recovery technique.

Count 15+: Ftr1 takes a swift action to activate the warblades recovery, then full attacks.

Count 15: Ftr 2 either makes a Full Attack or uses a Strike Maneuver, then White Raven Tactics Ftr 1 to count 14.

Count 14: Ftr 1 either makes ANOTHER Full Attack or uses a Strike Maneuver, then White Raven Tactics Ftr 2 to count 13.

Count 13: Ftr2 takes a swift action to activate the warblades recovery, then makes ANOTHER full attack.

End of Round. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat.
Every single round, every single melee character that took 1 level of Warblade at 9th level or higher gets an extra Full Attack so long as the number is 2 or greater.

And that's not even talking about the Vindicator Nova that gets 20 full attacks in a single round.

You can't use a maneuver in the round you recover. All of the above happens in one round, so it doesn't work. It would go like this.

Count 15+: Ftr1 takes a swift action to activate the warblades recovery, then full attacks.

Count 15: Ftr 2 either makes a Full Attack or uses a Strike Maneuver, then White Raven Tactics Ftr 1 to count 14.

Count 14: Ftr 1 either makes ANOTHER Full Attack. End of combo.

Fighter 1 used a swift action to activate the warblade's recovery, so he cannot use maneuvers for the remainder of that round. Fighter 2 used a maneuver, so even if he were to gain an additional full-round action from another source, he couldn't use it to recover maneuvers.

Ahh, I see it now. The Warblade's text has no such limitation, but the text on Pg 40 indicates as you suggest. That does invalidate the dipping of Warblade for the purposes of recieving an extra Full Attack Action every round, limiting us to an extra Full Attack Action every OTHER round, which is still signifigantly better than what any melee character was gaining beforehand.

We also have the possibility of using Adaptive Style to allow two or more melee characters to recharge any used strikes every single round. (At no surplus of usable actions, just free recharging at the cost of going last)

Also, 20 Full Attacks in a Round via Vindicator Nova is still seemingly possible.

I am reminded of DisposableHero's full attacks in a round record, lol.

Where can that be found? The FAQ?

Try Surreal's link thread or FunnySlaughter's list of CO Board world records.

It's mostly theoretical though (first of all, it uses multipouncing, second of all, it uses Synchronicity, third of all, it requires scientific notation to count the number of attacks in total).

Ahh, found it. 1496 Attacks in a Round! Wow, that is quite a number. Lets see if Vindicator Nova can get even close.

40 Charisma = 15 Turn Attempts.
3 Extra Turning Feats = 12 Turn Attempts.
1 Nightstick = 4 Turn Attempts.
3 Base Turn Attempts = 34 Total Turn Attempts.

Thri-kreen using a feat selection of: Multiweapon Fighting, Improved Multiweapon Fighting, Greater Multiweapon Fighting, Snap Kick, Leadership, Extra Turning, Extra Turning, Extra Turning.

Full Attack: 4.
Two Weapon Fighting: 3
Feat Chains: 6+1 Snap Kick.
Speed: 4
Bite: 1

19 attacks on a Full Attack=646 Attacks in a round?
